Samford is such a wonderful place to come and visit for admissions. The staff is extremely friendly, gregarious, and professional. The campus is extraordinary with unparalleled class sizes and unique degree opportunities. It was such an amazing tour and information session even with the difficulties of the pandemic. Oakwood University to be a religious institution lies to, cheats and discriminates against white contractors. Had me do $10,000.00 of boiler repairs and now won't pay the bill. I applied to one of their online Master’s program and got accepted for the 2022 Fall term. Filled out everything, paid the app fee, paid for all of my official transcripts (this would have been my 4th degree), got to the advising appointment only to be told that all of my questions I needed to “look into on my own”….. I work in higher education and these are thing the advisor should have been able to answer. Then she tells me the code to look at classes after the appointment, which was odd, only to find out the two classes I was going to register for were full and she wasn’t even looking at them at the time of the appointment. This is not how advising is supposed to work. Since I have an existing Master’s I wanted to see if any of my credits could transfer in with a maximum of 6 credit hours. If classes wouldn’t transfer due to program alignment, that would have been fine. However, the reasoning was “ Since you did earn the degree with those courses, he doesn't feel that we can also use them to complete the MA degree.” I’m sorry, what??? Baylor is an amazing school. For a few reviews before me we are not all "rich kids wanting to blow daddy's money" or "rude". I personally have a bad background that would not match the first statement. I am not rich. I am blessed to be in this university thanks to scholarships and my hard working mother. Baylor itself is a blessing. Its a rigorous school BUT very well worth it. I love being part of the Baylor community. Its a beautiful campus filled with loving people. Its not "perfect" because nothing is. There will be a few issues like yes there are some kids who don't care and my be rude or blow things off but really if you are a part of it you will see the majority of the campus and the people here are more than amazing and loving. This is a fantastic university for the liberal arts. I have talked to people from other universities and to those that have come to visit me at college, and all of them see a difference in the student body. There is just a different atmosphere. All the people are kind and welcoming and always willing to help in times of need. The professors are nationally ranked and are not only outstanding in their fields of study, but wonderful people as well. Even if you're not looking to go to college, its a beautiful campus to just walk around in. It's almost like a park in some ways. Just give it a visit and I promise you'll be hooked! I loved my time as I attended Baylor for undergrad, and grad school (2008-2015). The campus has changed so much since i first step foot in 2008 (all for the better). Baylor (and Waco) is in a resurgence/growth period. Its an awesome time for Baylor and Waco. I loved my time there even though I'm not religious (agnostic/theist). Great people (students and especially faculty), and community. There was a reason why I came back to get my masters at Baylor. They helped me get through some rough times, and i am better for it now. The education I'm receiving at Syracuse University is second to none the professors are great and most of the friends I've made here are Syracuse University students friends that I will probably run into later in life the friends you make here are Syracuse University students from around the world, and some here in your own hometown, friends that you will make for life the professors are great they give you the tools you need for success in today's economy and in life and your own personal success. Going to Syracuse University to get an education is a blessing for me to be able to one day give back to my university in my community it's one of the best universities as far as a research school in the country, and their football team is pretty cool too.Stephen Mosher

My son is a recent Syracuse grad. From his first campus visit he felt a connection to this place. From his first day as a freshman through his last day at graduation, this school has given him great classes, amazing professors, lifelong friendships, travels to London, two final fours in four years. sleeping out in the cold for ten days before the sold out Duke game and many epic memories in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse University has so much to offer that smaller schools just don't. The campus is really nice and very well maintained. The finacial aid is great. The staff really helped him prepare for life after graduation as he had several job opportunities. My son loved Syracuse so much he decided to stay after getting a job right away. I had great professors and excellent guidance. I think. I mean, it WAS the first half of the seventies! Seriously though, I got everything I paid for, and more, from this great institution. The academic and extracurricular education and experience has served me extremely well and provided me with the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life. What a great part of the country. The geography, the city, the history of the area, the geology (Love those drumlins!), the fantastic sports! What are you interested in? You can live it, and learn more about it, in Syracuse! I was here for two years after my time at Nova CC. I was with the Schar School of Policy and Government. It was a fantastic experience I wouldn't trade for anything. The professors are all experts in their fields with PhD's. Everyone in my classes were respectful and engaging. For a social life it was average, you have to make your own friends by joining clubs or living in dorms with your door open. Be polite and talk to people. Infrastructure wise there is a huge effort by the university to modernize. With the Peterson Medical building, Nguyen Engineering Building, Fenwick library, exploratory building, and the new Robinson building that is being built in the middle of campus, it's gonna be great. For now the construction may put people off but it will become a great school for students and graduate students alike. 4/5 would do it again. Not really but still.Ameen Karim

The George Mason University is better than I expected going in. Many Norther Virginia High School students don’t really want to go to this school because they think it is not that good and they do not want to stay home. This is a great place to learn especially is you are on a budget. Stay at home and commute, it is a great way to save money while getting a good quality education at a university. This school is great and although there is not much on campus culture, there are many things that make the school amazing. To me the University of South Alabama (or USA as it's called) will forever be the college you go to when you aren't able to or can't afford to go to any place better. I went here from the early to mid 1990's and looking back on it all at this point in time I should've went somewhere better because be it bad luck, bad timing or whatever I didn't have the best experience in the world! I've been to other colleges since I graduated USA and let's just say that I had a MUCH better experience with them. The teaching staff were light years ahead of many of USA's teachers and genuinely seemed interested in helping me achieve my best. I think I can count on maybe three fingers how many instructors at USA I liked. The worst problem was a lot of the instructors I had were foreigners who not only had teaching skills that were awful but you couldn't even understand them half the time! Aside from that they'd fly through the material at blistering speeds and apart from the experience I had at USA if I've heard this once I've probably heard it a billion times. There were many occasions where I feel I didn't learn anything and my feelings on that still resonate to this day. A good friend of mine's son graduated USA recently and he to agreed that many of the teachers at USA weren't exactly the best. It was like when USA hired teachers they went for the bottom of the barrel and it showed because the teaching skills of most of them left a LOT to be desired! My advice, if you want to be a medical doctor, nurse or work in any part of the medical profession USA is your choice because the medical program is about the only thing good going for that place. I figured this would be the best place to post this. How do I go about getting information on getting future financial aid to attend USA? I have a daughter who is attending school there and she will be the first in my family to attend college. She did get some scholarship money but I know in the long run of things this will not be enough for her going forward in her field of study. I was kind of brought in at the tail end of this as far as the tuition is concerned. She probably will be angry if she knew if I was writing this. But now is not the time to be proud. Herzing university is a nonprofit college and this is not the route to go. State and Community college are the best route to go very affordable. This school is not ACEN ACCREDITED. They will lie just to get you in because the worker get paid through your loans. I visit Birmingham campus and the Campus was the nasty, disgusting and the advisor are very unprofessional. I never seen an adviser dress in pant and a tshirt. Stay away from Tobias Roberts and Mrs Jackson they are unprofessional advisers. It don't even look like a college. Pitt's School of Social work and associated faculty and staff work very hard to ensure the success of their students. The education is comprehensive and highly skill/practically based. Upon graduation, students should definitely be able to practice very competently in direct practice or at a systems level. Most of the faculty are excellent instructors with very relevant practical experience. The main cons are the amount of disorganization within the department and that a few instructors (a minority) aren't great at teaching.Alysse Littleberry

Average building. Some classrooms are a bit cold and could use an update, but they do have projectors. Classrooms on the first floor are lecture halls and some are quite nice (one has theater-like seating that is really comfy). A lot of great classes are offered in this building. A big downside to having classes here is that the bathrooms are far too small for the number of people in the neighboring classrooms. When a lecture hall gets out the line for the bathroom could take you 15 minutes.Caity Roach

Really nice clean campus and very well lit at night. What I like most is how both the basketball arena and football stadium are snuggled right in with the campus and are easy to find. I've been to college campuses where you needed a map to find the stadiums. I would have given a 5 star rating for my experience but the only thing that I don't like is the lack of parking that you have when you attend games….because of the lack parking you have to use folks home yards that live around the campus and they're charging $20 and up for parking, which is ridiculous.Young man Old soul Radio (YMOS)

Happiest years of my life were spent in Troy. I greatly love this school. The teachers were great, and the range of services were fantastic. The administration however was not and often found new and exciting ways to screw things up. Everything from losing my social security number to not properly implementing my scholarship so that book fees weren't covered. Still I love this place and recommend it highly.Brigham Schellinger

This is a great school at a great price, and they do not pay me to say that. It is a good medium size, so you aren't getting lost in the mass of students like bigger universities, but you can still have opportunities to grow and succeed like bigger schools. I worked at Winthrop from 2015 to 2018 as an Adjunct Professor of Music. My colleagues were amazing people and I loved working with them. The students were dedicated for the most part. If any weren't, it was typically because of something difficult going on in their life. If there were anything to complain about, it would be the age of the music conservatory. They try their best to maintain it, but it's just old. Fortunately, there are already plans in place to build a new one.David Batchelor

Campus is beautiful from the outside but the insides need extreme TLC. My freshman year dorm had mold in it, but now my new room is very clean. I recommend moisturizer bags for the rooms and if you are looking for a party school please do not come because we do not have that. I can't speak to the Education one could get here, but the campus is absolutely beautiful. Attended the Crown of the Carolinas Gymnastics Meet in the West Center and had some time to walk around and it was wonderful. The weight room, which was in the same building was very impressive. The students that finish here go on to become more than just worker bees they become decision makers, movers and shakers. They are in every city, from Los Angeles to New York, from Miami to Seattle. What makes the college so strong is the solid focus on academics and the slow town makes you become family with people you would have never met otherwise. I met some friends there and we still keep in touch to this very day every single week and this is from 25 years ago. Enjoyed the inaugural parade performance! I was so excited to be able to watch "the little band that could" – I'm so proud that the students and the president of the college stood up to the "haters" and showed the determination to persevere even though it wasn't the "popular" thing to do. I think that anyone connected to this college should be proud. These students make me proud that they can withstand the negative onslaught from former alumni and put their country before "politics". Another thing that is really remarkable is that the band is only 4 or 5 years old and in my opinion, got the first genuine smile of enjoyment from Barron Trump. I'm so proud of the President and band for taking a positive outlook in attending the inauguration this week. As a FNC viewer, I was so excited for them when Bill O announced last night. The students especially with all the controversy (we) are being accused of, are standing up and looking at a monumental experience. They are displaying a part of 'coming together' which is so much more than the majority of this country, the celeb's who are afraid of those 'who like them' and a fear-filled minority of those who just want to move on. Please, if you are not having a high risk pregnancy, DO NOT HAVE YOUR BABY HERE! I feel like if I did not leave when I did, I would be dead. I was admitted with pre-eclampsia. Now, my nurses on the maternity unit were good and so were the nurses on the neonatal unit. My baby is biracial, and one of the neonatal nurses did not believe that my son was my son. She said are you sure you are here for that baby…. But that's another story. While on the maternity unit, a patient care tech charted my blood pressure as normal and did not actually check my blood pressure. SHE FALSIFIED MY BLOOD PRESSURE! DO YOU KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THAT IS ON A PRE-ECLAMPSIA PATIENT!!! I emailed Terri Poe, the chief nursing officer, and the nurse manager for that unit. No one EVER called me to follow up with me. The charge nurse offered me a parking pass, which is ridiculous. Bottom line DO NOT HAVE YOUR BABY HERE……Jennifer Dean

Went there for the first time ever on 1/25/21. I babysit 3 boys 5, 3 & 1yr old brothers. The youngest ones both have medical issues & I went with their mom to take them for a checkup. When I say that I've never seen a more caring staff, and I mean from the cafeteria workers to desk clerks to Dr's….I mean it! The nurses & physicians (sincerely) pay attention to *every word you say to them & every question you ask! It's extremely apparent how much they care about their patients and that's hard to find anywhere!!! I love these kids as if they were my own & I'm so happy that they are in such loving, capable hands❤Holli Sanders

The best hospital I've ever been to. The staff is awesome and the bedside manner is great. They make you comfortable knowing that you're probably going to be there for some time that it being a critical hospital. The love they give is an understatement. If I was rich I would tip the doctors, nurses, techs, etc. for my gratitude.If don't nobody else realize there job I do and I salute them to the fullest. They are definitely Heroes.
