Most of the bad reviews are coming from people who had ONE bad experience at like the book store or whatever or i gEt tHiEr aDs oN hUlu, though the veteran who shared his story probably has a decent case to make. Anyway I got a business degree from this college and if you actually try you can do really really well here, with great professors and programs like the honors program which gives high level learning at bottom dollar, and wonderful faculty like the folks at PTK, disability services, or the Fuller Center. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to work on regarding graduation rates, the food, no one card system, etc but I couldn't give this place anything less than 5 stars because of all of the wonderful people who give 110% here, especially in those departments I mentioned. If you live in Worcester don't spend 30k a year to go to Assumption, you'll save so much money to come here. Seek opportunity, study for your tests, respect your professors and faculty, and most importantly, do your damn homework; I guarantee you'll be a success at this place if you do all of these things.Clark Kent

The qcc "police" are some of the most unqualified and unempathetic people in the area. There is no doubt they have no training, no expertise in law and zero idea of what they are doing. Maybe they should take some courses while they work their jobs at qcc in criminal justice. Maybe they can get a handle on their jobs. This is an awesome school and I am so disappointed that one teacher ruined it all for me. DO NOT take Professor Jane Joyce accounting classes or any classes from her. She is awful and not a good teacher in general. You will waist your money, time, and probably want to rip your hair out when she talks. Harvard is one of the most prestigious universities in the World and every one wishes to visit it once in a life time. I had this chance to go there and walk around this beautiful institute. The good thing is that it is open for all and everyone could go around and visit. I saw many tourists there enjoying walking and taking photos. The good thing which I liked was that seeing people doing Yoga in the open space and in nature. I liked that and participated with them in yoga. It was nice walking around Harvard university . I would recommend either taking a guided tour or to download and follow the self guided tour so you understand the history behind the university. I loved the library and the story behind it. Unfortunately wasn’t able to go inside but would have loved to. I have to be honest about this. Good college when it comes to campus design, some Professor's teaching skills, and assistance for school related issues. Although, the school teaches bad ethics. For example, sports lack discipline. They will teach there athletes to run score boards up. Up by 20 in a basketball game with 3mins to go, they will shoot more three point shots than Steve Kerr. The most alarming thing is faculty will participate in Hazing students. I've watch this with my own two eyes. Call them out on it, and they will just deny it, at least my professor did. I am currently a student there, who help form a club, in order to help students get there basic needs to become a successful student. So just remember, good campus design, some Professors have good teaching styles, good for resources, but terrible place to learn good ethics. To me learning good ethics and applying them is one of the most important, or the most important thing to learn as a student. Would not be the first school I would want to send my child to. My alma mater which will always be in my heart till it stop beating (that might sound too dramatic) but hey that’s the truth! I learned a lot, got tons of experiences, got so many American and International friends, exchanged culture and collected precious moments in this place. I really miss the college, my friends, the clubs, the library, single stop, the cafeteria and most importantly I miss my coordinator when I was in a scholarship Program and of course I really miss the professors. I do recommend this college as an affordable and easy starting point but be ready to encounter many hurdles in your way and a lot of incompetent staff. Make sure to double check everything you do here, especially the financial aid part. The professors are nice but it’s on you to actually learn the material, the professors rarely will make sure you learned anything. It’s a 3 star college. It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review but I am in hopes of MCPHS revising their admissions process for the Physician Assistant Program. I know that I was not the only student this year that was invited to interview and then closed out of an interview spot and placed on a waiting list. When I contacted MCPHS they told me that I may not get to interview after all as they had accidentally invited too many people to interview and did not have the resources to open up more interview dates even though acceptances are not on a rolling basis. How does a top tier medical university not have the resources to interview all the students they invited? By choosing to interview solely the people that happened to secure spots first, not only are they limiting the potential of their incoming class and proving that they only care about filling the spots for monetary reasons, but they are limiting the future of numerous successful students who worked hard to get an interview invitation. When I asked Jordan Hunt (admissions counselor) to make sense of this she was unable to provide a competent answer besides that the university messed up and the incoming students are the ones facing the repercussions. I’m not writing this for myself, but for the other students who were too timid to speak up or who had chosen this school as their top choice and then got screwed. I truly feel bad for some of the other incoming students who do not have other options and were relying on MCPHS. I am very disappointed. MCPHS either needs to change their interviewing process to rolling acceptances (interviewing the top tier students first and then going down the line) or they need to use this model but be willing to open up more dates in case of overflow. Side note: They informed me that students on the waiting list could be notified up to a day before an interview that a spot had opened up. Do they not take into consideration that everyone doesn’t live near Boston or works full-time? Extremely dissatisfied with this supposedly “top tier” medical college.Maddy Frank

Hey guys, good for all the students giving great remarks. I don't know if the school has paid you. I must say i was in the nursing program , ( the set that started 2005) the teachers were very bad. Everything was very difficult, out of 50 students that got into the nursing program only 15 students or even less that graduated from the program. Judy Murphy was very racist, no room for improvement. It was a very bad school. I will recommend another school any day any time as matter off fact the school needs to refund money back to students that paid for tuition. All they care about is your money and not the students. It was a very traumatic experience. It was one of the worst decision i have ever made in life to attend that college. I Owe up to 100,000 in debt with no nursing degree to show for. I thank the Almighty God i got my degree from another school with no stress or frustration. Guys open your eyes and look for another school. I just finished my second-year in PharmD program in MCPHS. I’m gonna transfer to Worcester to study the accelerated program. I have had great time in MCPHS so far. All professors are very nice and friendly. I haven’t met any professor who’s not willing to help student wholeheartedly. They always have office hours to answer students’ inquiries and to clarify the lecture in case the students don’t understand. There are absolutely no discrimination in MCPHS. It’s all about respect. Every MCP student is very welcoming so we have a very close-knit community in MCP. The program is well-designed and bearable. Sometime I feel overwhelmed but it’s not impossible to pass as many people say. You just need to put time and effort and you’ll be fine. In short, MCPHS is a great university for those who seriously pursuit a professional career in pharmacy and health sciences.Bill Nguyen

I've watched 25 graduating classes at Rivier. I've watched Rivier grow from an all girl's college to a coed college, and from a college to a university, from typing classes to computer classes and from graduate programs to doctoral programs. I've taken classes at Rivier and had the opportunities to change my mind for the better. I've worked in Housekeeping, Public Safety, Grounds, Maintenance and the Mail room. I can honestly say that most of the workers try to go above and beyond the call of duty by taking care of all the little details for students, staff, faculty and administration. We cater to our students and that's what we do. Rivier is like a place your mom taught you the world is supposed to be like. I will forever be indebted to all of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary for taking time to make sure I was OK, that I felt a part of the community and that I was appreciated for my efforts. Rivier University is the biggest regret I've made thus far for a secondary education institution. The Student Financial Services have let me down more than once, resulting in missed opportunities for financial help or gave me no notification if I owed the school money until I did/do. They sent my financial aid refund to me then three days later contacted me stating they needed it back, that they had made an error sending it to me. I had reached my loan limit with no warning given that the funds weren't available for me to enroll, that I'd pay out of pocket if I continued with my registration. If you decide to attend Rivier University in Nashua, NH then I suggest a special private financial aid provider and a personal accountant.Keitha Shideler

WORST college/university in the state! They care more about the cosmetics and appearance of their campus then they do about the actual education of their students! The first thing I will say about this school is that the student population is one of the rudest and meanest student populations in the country. Everyone I have met at this place is all about appearing cool and smart, and if you don't go to school here you are looked down upon. The dorms are absolutely terrible here and most buildings are made of concrete. Most state universities are the pride of the state but I don't think people view UMass that way. The school used to have friendly students and a low tuition/fees, now it is the exact opposite. When you go to Umass you are paying for a college experience, your not paying for a quality education. Public schools are a major part of the downfall of society, and this school is a perfect example of a school doing that. Every time I have been on this campus I am not acknowledged and if you don't conform to Umass standards you are an outsider. I understand education is important but the students/staff could at least show some respect to people outside their clique of Umass society. Umass has gotten better in some aspects but in many aspects it is still failing. It is not a open minded campus. I think most people who leave this school are so absorbed into a career mindset that they forget that life is about more than just a career and income. A major problem with universities especially UMass is people choose a very narrow path of education. People should be interested in many different fields of knowledge rather than what their major is. I've been coming to the dental school as a patient for several years. I started because after studying in England for several years the dentists they're had done a significant amount of damage to my teeth which meant a lot of restoration work back in the U.S. it started with a root canal that had to be redone that was done on England and got infected. My insurance was all used up for the year with one root canal and crown. Then they told me that another root canal was getting infected and this one also needed surgery, but my dental insurance was used up for the year and it would be months before the end of the year. But it was starting to hurt so this couldn't wait for months. Since I wouldn't be able to afford it without insurance, someone told me that it is much cheaper as a patient at the dental school at Tufts. I arranged for an appointment and became a patient and have been one for years. Due to it being a dental school, the appointments take a lot longer and are booked for 3 hour time slots (most times it may take less than that, sometimes though, it may need a little longer). Everything is double checked by a professor every step the way so no mistakes are ever made. Also being students they tend to be very cautious not to hurt you, whereas experienced dentists don't really care about your discomfort and just want to get the job finished. With a good dentist that can be a good thing as they will finish berry fast and not hurt you at all, but some dentists are not very good. This had never been an issue here. Every couple of years the student that I was assigned to graduates do a new student has to be assigned. The appointments might take longer, but the price even if they don't take your insurance can't be beat. If they do take your insurance, I would definitely use them. Avoid this for-profit school! Go to ANY other trade school.They canceled my student loans without my knowledge. I got pulled out of class several times in the beginning of my semester and was told to go to the bursars office, once I got there no one could tell me what was going on with my account and they told me to try the registrars office. Same thing, no one could tell me why I was getting pulled out of class or what was going on with my account. Everything looked fine they said. After about 3 weeks of that and getting zero info…I stopped getting pulled out of class and at the end of the semester I got a $5000+ bill. They've been suing me for it for the past 8 years. Everytime I've gone to court there's always atleast 10 other people there who had the same thing happen to them. Do yourself a favor and find an apprenticeship instead of wasting your money at this "school".Braeden M.

You wont get an engineering degree from here. You'll be a technician. You will never get an engineering degree from here. They don't have it on the website, you can look everywhere on it. I can not recommend enough not to go here. The administration is a joke, the amount of absolute asinine rules that are put on place make this place nearly unbearable. If you’re considering this school please put your money elsewhere. You’ll be charged $40,000 a year just to have a sub par education. Food is said to be good but is close to inedible. I had a friend go here for school so I went to the student intern acupuncture clinic to help with some digestive issues. I liked the experience overall and had a significant reduction in symptoms over 3 treatments. The place is pretty affordable as well so I'd recommend if you were on a budget, but you are working with students as opposed to longer term practitioners so that should be kept in mind.Deven Sinclaire

Our family has had a very less than favorable experience with WPI. Certainly there are many positives and for most people this will probably be the case but in our case the negatives vastly outweigh the benefits. The quality of education is very good however grueling, with blatant disregard for mental health and stability. The end result and overall education received definitely exceeds that of many educational institutions. The students however have a very egotistical and elitist attitude both regards to those of non technical professions as well as other educational institutions at large. If you choose to not participate in this mentality you're definitely someone ostracized and looked down upon yourself. There is also a blatant disregard for the law and practices of their own policies with regard to protection to students rights. When your legal rights or your rights according to their own policies is infringed upon and enforcing them or protecting them would somehow negatively impact the school or their faculty every attempt to skirt or disregard them is attempted. I have seen in multiple circumstances this occurred to a negative end result for the actual student. Typically the only way around this is to have enough money to pay in fight the school to make it not worth their while. Those without the ability to do so face consequences that are oftentimes life-altering and the school pays no heed to this. You essentially sign yourself up for completely independent arbitration by going here and they take full advantage of this should it be necessary to protect their own reputation or revenue stream. The rate at which their development has progressed and expansion of administrative positions is also a sign of their lack of frugality and the breadth of their profit margin as opposed to consideration for the cost of the student or their family. The school could be much better it's the overall experience was improved upon by focusing on customer service, student experience, and not the kind from simply more development but through resources and protections that allow you as a customer to receive what you're paying for.Joseph

High quality education and the project-based curriculum really adds to your resume and provides much opportunity to study abroad. I chose a project site at NASA's Johnson Space Center for my MQP. How many undergrads get the chance to work at NASA? Not many. I had friends who went to project sites in Italy, Thailand, etc. I have also attended the University of Florida and Clemson University (for 2 graduate degrees) and would rate WPI on par with UF as fantastic experiences, and above Clemson. There are certainly trade-offs between large and small universities, with larger universities typically able to offer many more opportunities (greater course selection, greater selection of minors/concentrations/certificate programs to enhance your degree, sports, clubs, study-abroads, career fairs with heavy-hitting employers) and WPI makes up for its diminutive size with a strong emphasis on enhancing student life and opportunities that you won't find elsewhere like their project sites around the globe. Part of the reason WPI costs what it does is because of the value added to the student experience. Clemson, in contrast, offers what you would expect for its size- noticeably less than both WPI and UF. If a student simply wants to take classes and graduate doing the bare minimum, WPI would be wasted on them. But if you really want to make the most of your 4 years of undergrad, WPI offers a lot.Stacey Dolan

WPI the approach to instruction is to be close to the material so that students can apply it in real life applications. The student body was thoughtful and thankfully the hype associated with higher education and technical areas of mastery was not found. People are straightforward and honest here. I did not continue after freshman year because I had a low thyroid condition and really was not prepared to speed through the concepts presented to me at the time. My energy level has increased now. I have not given up on myself, however, I intend to learn at my own pace. I appreciate the friendships I was able to make here and being treated fairly and objectively. I was more suited for some world travel and personal discovery exploration rather than starting at WPI so soon after high school. Too many options for one lifetime. I was glad I went here.Kelly Moy

If you're coming in as a high school student or transfer, good luck. If you're looking to know exactly what classes you should be taking, than orientation is rather uninformative. They do not print out the list of classes from their online website, I tried to find it ahead of time but the page was broken so I couldn't print it myself. They just speak out loud of general classes and hope you magically find your way from there on their iSiS program. It's like calling a help center, clicking various buttons and still getting that female robot voice every time, not a real person with the answer you need. I also had questions about my health insurance that even the woman who works with student's health insurance couldn't answer! Did I learn things during orientation? Of course! Like first and foremost, how to pay bills online. Also, how to set up texts for emergency reports, about their sports/social/volunteer programs, where to go and who to call. Those are the basics, most couldn't answer the specific questions I had. The ones they didn't think about ahead of time so they could help me. The only person who answered all of my questions was the Chair of the department, before I even asked. I asked a dozen people before I directly contacted the Chair. If you have questions about your classes just talk to the Chair of (your major) department, because everyone else there doesn't have a clue.Kirsten Rae

The student advising needs a lot of improvement. I had three separate advisers over three years, never met one of them. Otherwise this is a great school; great location, accessible, and state-of-the-art facilities/technology. As for academics I felt that I absolutely benefited, from my professors, in fact i found that the quality of learning I had from some adjunct professors was equal to if not better than some of the full-time faculty. Seemingly limitless resources, UMASS Lowell is a diverse, up and coming school in the North East and is constantly growing in excellence. This school is incredible one of my family went here absolutely excellent experience. Honestly better than any school either of us have ever dealt with. There were definitely issues here there but for the first time they were actually dealt with head-on and directly. I’m currently a student here. DO NOT APPLY TO REGIS! The financial aid department is never helpful. They tell us one thing, only for us to find out it was completely wrong. They told me to take out extra money then what was needed. This totally screwed me up. The food is terrible and we have cockroach problems. I studied abroad and they had no room placement for me when I returned. They never transferred my credits over until I was stern. The staff act like children until they’re called out by students, never completing things until we notice and ask them to do so. Total over reaction to Covid. Your a school in the suburbs. You should have given students a choice to attend in person or online TO BEGIN WITH!!!. This decision will likely ruin you financially. I applied as a transfer student to this university, had a gpa above 3.5, had excellent recommendations, members of phi thetta kappa, went to the transfer interview and got mysteriously denied. Admission officer on the phone and in person kept focusing on how I was too old to attend College of the Holy Cross. I graduated from Gordon College back in 1989, and at that time the school did not allow dancing on campus, loud rock music, or visiting students of the opposite sex without having our dorm room door open. These were some of the rules we understood and agreed to when we went there as students. The core of the school is its Christian values and the steady adherence to Scripture as its guiding light founded as a missionary school by A.J. Gordon. I loved learning about the God of the Old Testament and what the New Testament means for Christians who follow Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. For me, the Christian aspect of the school was what drew me there and that was what I relied on to get me through to graduation. My experience was one of academic learning while drawing closer to God and the knowledge of Jesus Christ's presence in my life. Although Gordon excels as a Christian liberal arts school teaching Science, Math, Political Studies, Bible, etc., it does so with the understanding that God's Spirit has been the omnipresent power in shaping history. I felt comfortable on campus although I was one of a handful of minority students on campus at the time. I had the privilege of studying there and recently visited for my 25 year reunion. I did see the controversy revolving the school in the school Tartan newspaper and I had been reading the developments in the Boston Globe. Personally I feel the school should continue to rely on its Christian tradition, while letting the faculty assist in bringing about a more harmonious outcome that respects the principles on which the school was founded. Its freedom to follow its religious morals of conduct and values should be respected and at the same time not be negatively criticized for it. People may feel the need for change of the schools policies, but some sense of living a life worthy of Christ's calling is best experienced at a place where true Christian fellowship abounds. If the school's faculty trusts in God's will, not led due to the pressures of social norms, then the school will progress in its founder's tried and true message to spread the good news of the Gospel within its community of faith and beyond. Gordon College is the premier liberal arts school with a faith-based focus. The sleepy campus is quiet and peaceful aside Coy Pond and 400 acres of its own property. The academic experience presents and rich and vigorous college milieu for its students, with challenging faculty, engaged students, and a supportive community. I had the good fortune of attending the drama department’s production of Moliere’s The Miser, a French Renaissance comedy that the team had prepared expertly and with improvised call outs to contemporary culture. Very smart, and very well done. Finally, the college’s supportive alumni base makes possible innovative programs in entrepreneurship and similar new fields. Through these efforts, the college maintains its mission to be a force of healing.Tim Pappageorge

Any reviews claiming that the students here are "rich brats" or "bigoted" are ABSOLUTELY false. Gordon is a diverse school, filled with young men and women who have integrity. We have a large pool of International students as well as students who come from middle and lower class backgrounds like myself. Our school does have a traditional view on LGBTQ people, but we don't hate them. You can't make a baseless claim that students are "racists" or "spoiled" when you haven't even stepped foot on Gordon's beautiful campus. EVERYONE IS CREATED EQUAL UNDER GOD… PERIOD!Rick's Reviews
