School here is nice and if you need something cheap, but UVU reinforces the comment that "University education is becoming less valuable." Half my professors were either teaching here their first time, didn't speak English, or had no expertise in their subject. I passed 2 years of credits by watching videos and drawing pictures during class: not because I'm smart, but because there was no content. Like in high school, many of the professors have 30% percent of their grade centered around attendance. Not participation, but attendance. So yes, I ignored class because everything I needed for an A was provided online. I'm typing this now during Philosophy class, and I am not missing anything. Books are hardly ever used but are "required" according to the professors. They gather dust on my shelf. Most problems here need to be fixed across the nation not just UVU, but I am a very frustrated student in my twenties because I don't know where my money is going. Teachers aren't happy with pay and all have second jobs. The building and resources are really really nice but I rarely need to use them since the internet was invented. UVU in general education has the same quality as Khan Academy except here, there is a physical address they want you to come to. There is a good range of food options but mostly crowded into the same building. Parking is ridiculous and there is no reason to pay $90 a year for the clustered insanity that the school created. Use the darn money to hire a civil engineer for God's sake. Once you pass general education and focus in to better classes, the rooms get nicer and the teaching quality doubles. Don't come here if you're not willing to graduate. Location is fine other than the city planning on the busiest road outside. If you're coming from the south east your drive will be dangerous, traffic is terrible and construction has been in effect for 4 years now. Very annoying. Train station is very convenient and is likely your best choice if you have a transportation method to your nearest station. Students who work feel punished because rent in the area is high, and pay low. Scholarships are handed to those without jobs first, those who aren't working for rent and tuition are the ones handed money from the school. Afternoon/Night classes are poor in options and schedule so working at a volatile job is ever more of a punishment. (Data from a few friends and strangers) Many activities, but the activities most advertised in my buildings were focused for helping women, about guest speakers, for the LGBT community, or cost $15. So I've never been to one, though free lectures and speeches are common. Overall, UVU focuses on medium-to-low education and welcoming everyone with open arms. But once you're here, you may want to transfer to BYU or drop out entirely.Isaac Benge

Coming here was the best decision I have ever made. Every single professor cares about my learning and the fact that the average class size is 23 (I’ve never had a class over 25) makes it so my teachers know me, know my name, know what type of student I am, and some even came to my wedding! I have also been incredibly impressed with the resources. You would have to TRY to fail at UVU, because they truly make it so easy to succeed. From job resources, free tutoring, professor office hours, financial aid and scholarships, and everything in between I honestly feel like every single person I talk to wants me to succeed. The campus is amazing and INDOORS like seriously it is the best part of campus. Shorts in the winter and pants in the summer. Sure parking can be hard, but you are 100% going to find that at any university and it is really only bad after 10am so if you have classes before that you will be fine. The social life is great and the activities are fun and well attended. Free food at all times and tons of on campus food options. I honestly feel like the education I received is worth a million times more than what the tuition is (one of the lowest in the nation for a university). UVU focuses on Engaged Learning, or learning by doing, and most my classes don’t even have textbooks or tests, just projects and resume building it’s amazing. Add that to the fact that it is open enrollment and you can see why it is the largest university in the state. Seriously. Come take a tour at least and see how awesome UVU is.Justine Rupprecht

In all honesty do NOT go here, if you have a better option do not come to this college, it is a over glorified high school. They aren't too expensive which is nice, but they charge many other ways, you must pay to take tests if you are not there the first day, they offer no flexibility when taking classes especially if you are working full time. The professors are 50/50 you either get great ones that work with you, answer quickly to your emails, and are awesome. Or you get awful ones that only two kids pass their class, they will put you on academic probation which I don't get because I am paying to go to school here, so why does it bother them if I failed one class because the professor was awful. In all honesty if you have a better option DO NOT GO HERE! I have never been so frustrated with a school before in my life.Kyra McMillan

Very inconsiderate! I think our company made a bad choice of partnering with your company for our health program! I was 15min.early on my appointment at the huntsman cancer mobile and the front desk lady won't let me in and asked me to come back. I would understand if there were patients waiting but there's none.Gosh! It's 97 degree outside! Where is your patient care that always printed in your brochures? Or maybe your staffs are not trained well specifically that front desk receptionist! That lady named Zona/Sona is very inconsiderate and rude!She was just sitting conveniently in the AC room and doing nothing while I was waiting in the middle of the parking lot under the sun with 97 degree temperature? Peak State Fit, (Pat Casey) was recommended to me by a friend who had recently utilize their services. Upon reaching out to Pat he quickly sent me a link of his schedule where I could easily select a time slot that worked for me. Once that was done Pat quickly reached out to me by phone to discuss any problem areas that needed work. After arriving at the studio, Pat and I quickly made a connection and started to chat about what I was specifically needing with my fit. My issue was with foot pain after about two hours on the bike. We went through the assessment and made some small tweaks to the bike and the cleats on my shoes. The entire time Pat was very professional, listen to my concerns and addressed the issues. My three hour time slot literally felt like one hour. I highly recommend Peak State Fit and Pat either to address your current issues on the bike, or to just simply fit a new bike to you. Don’t spend all that money on a brand new bike and not take the time to get properly fit, which makes all the difference. Just a quick follow up to the fit. Heather and Pat (along with Dakota) were fantastic to work with during my bike fittings. I've been having issues (e.g., back pain, hands, hamstrings, and feet going numb) for years not realizing they stemmed, in part, to relying on basic fittings, and minor adjustments I've made over the years. I've ridden my MTB twice and still need to get on my gravel bike, but from just those two rides I can tell that their comprehensive custom fitting made a significant difference in my riding performance. I also noticed I could ride for much longer before I started to feel those minor issues returning and those are likely due to getting used to the the adjustments. Working with Pat was a great experience. I could tell that he truly cares about his work. I've been to two or three other bike fitters in my cycling history and all of them were happy with 'good enough'. NOT PAT! Pat went the extra mile, made the extra adjustment, made a delicious coffee, talked shop, and made sure that I was as comfortable and efficient on the bike as possible. I finally got out on my bike today and had the best ride I've had on this bike. I was comfortable, the bike was stable on big descents, and at the end of the ride I felt great. I am a non US citizen with a foreign driving license, and I took my road test with Salt Lake International Driving. The whole experience has been amazing!!! Daud is a great professional, with a lot of experience but at the same time very kind and patient. He explained all the road test procedures and answered all my doubts before the test, and helped me to feel calmer during the test. I learned about the importance of always checking blind spots while driving, and the helpfulness of defensive driving. Overall an excelent experience! I really recommend this driving school to all! Daud and Salt Lake International Driving School are fabulous. Daud did the driving instruction hours for my teenage son and my son said Daud was patient, clear and well organized in his teaching. And then, when I took my son for his driving test (at Drive Right where all they do are driving tests), the man administering the test said 98% of the Salt Lake International Driving School students pass on their first try because the instruction level is so high here. Rude. Uninformed. For being a “Top School” I would of expected to have the information I needed and not be treated so rudely. My interview was with Harkomal Kaur and I have never met someone who spoke to me so rudely. I asked very precise questions when I called to set an appointment. I was told yes they can use another dentists plans. I was informed rudely that wasn’t the case and the people who answered couldn’t legally answer those questions. And when I told her so couldn’t afford another $80 on top of what I just paid with another dentist if they could make an exception her tone almost immediately changed for the worst. I have called 5 other dentists and they all said there is no law against them knowing or giving that SIMPLE information and they all can use the other dentists plans. I’m a single mom and I’m just trying to find a better solution to fixing my teeth. This has been a sensitive subject for me for many years and was hoping I could not only have a better financial alternative but help the school as well. Never will I turn to U of U dental for help again and Will let everyone know what kind of an experience they can probably expect should they find themselves in a similar situation. This visit cost me a lot to do taking time off work for it. And I was treated like garbage. No sympathy. Uninformed. Rude. UPDATE: And then she put in my chart all I wanted was my two front teeth fixed. Which was NOT what I said. I said my primary is saving my two front teeth but I have a bunch of work that still needs done. Not only is she rude. Unprofessional. But a liar. My First initial appointment was for April 16th, just to get there to be informed that my appointment was rescheduled without my knowledge to May 27th. Went to my first appointment to start the process of getting dentures, for them to tell me that it would be 4 appointments and about 3 months or so before I would get my dentures. So, I thought okay, that's a long time. But, I'll wait. Well, my 3rd appointment was scheduled a month after my second one, and the day before I was to go to that appointment it was rescheduled ANOTHER month. So, then I finally go to my 3rd appointment, for my student dentist to tell me that in just one more month my dentures would be DONE and I'd get to take them home. Well, today is the day before my 4th appointment, for my student dentist to tell me that this appointment is a "denture try in" that I WILL NOT be taking them home with me. That it's going to take ANOTHER MONTH before I can take them home and start eating and living a normal life again. It just BLOWS my mind, how COMFORTABLE this place is with just constantly blowing off the clients. Making them wait for MONTHS AND MONTHS ON END just to be told "Oh, you're just gonna have to keep on waiting". It is SO beyond frustrating. And I sure hope NOBODY ever has to go through this long of waiting to get their dentures and start living a normal life again.Justin Seech

I couldn’t be more appreciative or happy with the care and skill level i have received at the University of Utah. My 4th year student “ dentist” Philipp Lucshen was professional, caring, thorough, knowledgeable and skilled. I had, cleanings, fillings and in the process of getting a crown. My oral health was in need and i like many procrastinated because of finances etc. Phillip was the first “dentist “ who explained the procedures that would get my oral health in line and also the cost involved. My teeth are thanking him! I am 63, have always exercised , had a good diet but always just did the bare minimum to my teeth which created some issues. Phillip is a top notch person who makes you feel comfortable and well cared for. I wish him well in his new profession and am seriously grateful for the great work he did and how he treated me. Are you thinking of enrolling in Pharmacy school? Well unless you have some compelling connections it is not worth it at all. Do not fall into the trap this school sets by making it sound like they have a high placement rate and that pharmacists make large sums of money. Here is the unfiltered truth. Pharmacy as a profession is suffering and private schools such as Roseman are responsible for the state it is in, by flooding the market. Private schools are willing to accept anyone into their programs in order to keep their doors open year after year. Their tuition continues to rise, and pharmacist pay continues to decrease as jobs become scarce. It is supply and demand, there are more people willing to work than positions available, and businesses capitalize on new grads that work for less, with little to no benefits. If you are someone with connections it is almost a guarantee that you will have to move to the middle of nowhere in order to get a part time job. The school will brag that almost every student has a job when they graduate. What they won’t tell you is that most students that have a job are going to be with CVS working 24 hours a week in a stressful work environment, with no benefits package, and likely over 200k in student loans you will slave to work off. This is not a six-figure job with a 401k and the choice to move anywhere that has a pharmacy. It is cut throat and as the years go on more and more people are going to be crushed by debt and no real career to speak of. Pharmacy used to be a career where only the best got in. 82.7% of pharmacy school applicants are accepted into pharmacy school now (Unable to put URL on google reviews). If you can get a loan now, you are in. This speaks volumes about the state of pharmacy, and how private colleges are negatively impacting not only the job market, and the pharmacy career, but also people’s futures. Roseman and private colleges like it are selling people on a positive future that is simply not there. If schools like this had any respect for people and for our evolving career, they would lower classroom sizes and decrease staff in order to match the job market. Due to the high volume of desperate employees many pharmacy chains are willing to push pharmacists to an unhealthy extreme in the work place, because if the person decides they cannot handle it, or demands more technician help, they can either quit or be fired, then the next hungry for work employee will step in and take the abuse until they are burned out too. If your only endgame is pharmacy, then don’t be surprised when the only options that are available are in some rural towns in Alaska and the border between Mexico and Texas, where you can battle new grads for working hours and reduced salaries. For the rest of the people looking for a rewarding, lucrative career. Check elsewhere because pharmacy has been milked dry.Connor Mathison

Having a BSN AND MS IN NURSING I WENT TO THE DENTAL CLINIC. Stay away. There is minimal guide credit and it is like they are all on their first day. I have been in the dental field my whole like. These students would ask about my friend who would come with me. The majority of the people who laughed at me and were in a niche where the students from the Philippines. I saw this in nursing too. They tend to be in groups, talk their language so others have the patients have no idea what they are saying Just like my experience the dental area the Filipino students have horrible dental chair skills. I could go on and on, but I would stay away from Roseman dental clinic where they make it sound like experienced dentists are doing the work or are right by the chair where the work is being done.. It is cheap but a total joke. Please try other places. Even if you are in the dental program , I was with them and they did horrible things to my mouth. They say you get what you pay for. The Filipinos female and male who worked on my a lot were always asking who is this guy who comes with you? Is he married….. It was repulsive. They never asked me how things went after my last treatments. Most of the dentists either retired or watching over the students that worked on me would walk over then leave and I would never see them that visit again. They did not care what kind of work the students were performing on me.KoolerTrek

For the last 3 days I've been experiencing pain in my rear molars and gums so I decided to visit the Roseman campus in South Jordan. I was seen within 15 minutes even as a walk in with no appointment, more than likely that was the luck of the draw but never the less a great surprise. They were able to take 3 separate x-rays and give me a diagnosis all for only $55.00. Their diagnosis, explanation and recommendations were very clear and precise. I went in there wanting a diagnosis with possible remedies and that's what I got. I'm very happy to have heard of Roseman and will no doubt return when needed, as a matter of fact at these prices I might just make a standing every 6 month appointment. The new Utah State University regional campus is really nice! It has all new equipment, technology, fast wifi, great design, and LED lighting. If you have been wanting to go to USU but can't live in Logan this is a great option. It has everything thing you need from study areas, snacks, computers Windows and Mac, testing centers, and counselors. The only thing that it is lacking is more face to face class lectures. It uses broadcast classes which is like a big group FaceTime, it's okay but not perfect. Overall I have really enjoyed my time as a student here! 👍👍Eric Hamilton

Average building. Some classrooms are a bit cold and could use an update, but they do have projectors. Classrooms on the first floor are lecture halls and some are quite nice (one has theater-like seating that is really comfy). A lot of great classes are offered in this building. A big downside to having classes here is that the bathrooms are far too small for the number of people in the neighboring classrooms. When a lecture hall gets out the line for the bathroom could take you 15 minutes.Caity Roach

My father got a teaching degree there. My sister got a Pharmacy degree there. My daughter is currently getting an engineering degree there. My sister got a math teaching master's there. I absolutely do not recommend attending the business school at University of Utah. I am a Junior at the school and I graduate in December. I am a 3.55 student and I do put effort towards my classes to get the most out of them. Here are the reasons why you should attend a different school. 1. BCOR. You will hear about this program when you sign up for classes. BCOR is a set of courses at are specific only to the U. They represent basic classes like Finance, Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Accounting. BCOR is the exact same curriculum as these classes. For example, BCOR 3020 Finance is the same as a finance class it is replacing. However, the BCOR class is NOT transferable in or out of the U. So if you take 5 BCOR classes your first year, you are a semester behind if you try to transfer. Keep in mind, they are THE EXACT same curriculum other than this entry BCOR 1010 super entry level class. They may try to make it sound special, it’s not. 2. Upper Division Tuition. Beware of this before you attend the U! The U does have access to this knowledge so they don’t necessarily hide it. I personally looked up average tuition for the university of Utah and it said $8000 a year. In high school, I didn’t think to look further into what I would be paying. (I paid $10500 last semester for 18 credits) ~ $17,000/year. I’m taking two summer classes this summer and it’s $4350. Upper division tuition starts your sophomore year and nothing has been very advanced and I have 21 credits left. Schools like ASU do not have this, it’s not an all around thing by the way. 3. Curriculum. Every time you tour a school they give you some good sounding statistic. “The University of ABC has the best business school in the coordinates between 1256.43 latitude, 3287.31 longitude in the Northeast side of the United States.” Anyways, whatever the U told me, I felt proud and accomplished to go there. That is, until I found myself thinking about what I learned after my first year-not really anything. I remember learning some basic excel, accounting, and economics. But not much more than a few YouTube videos worth. I am graduating in less than 12 months and I’d say I’ve had a few good classes and actually did enjoy my last semester, but there’s honestly not much special about this school’s program. Especially for paying double the tuition. 3. Business scholars. My last point I’ll talk about and it’s more for a specific course. I remember driving up to Utah and the university called me and asked if I wanted to join business scholars for an extra $1000/semester (now I think $2000/semester) It sounded so exclusive and cool! Company tours, traveling to Boeing, business presentations! I showed up on the first day of business scholars and there were so many students that they had to have two sections in the largest lecture room. We had some great trips, the trip to Seattle was truly awesome! We did one other company tour in the first semester to C.R. England. There were organized sections and every few weeks we had a good business presentation. Why am I upset about this? Well I’m not as furious about it as the other reasons, but it’s worth a read if you are considering joining. You are paying a lot more to take this extra class, you do gain some presentation skills and you get to learn a little about the different aspects of business. In our second semester, we did a ski day at brighton and due to Covid, we were sent home half way through the semester without ever doing company tours or allowing anyone to go to the Bryce/Zions trip. They refunded $0 which is extremely upsetting given they didn’t even provide any company tours or the trip. They straight pocketed some of that cash. Even if they could only refund each student $100 due to the cancellation in transportation costs, they should have done it. In accounting I learned that you can’t recognize revenue unless the service has been provided, so I don’t know where they put that on their balance sheet(; Google is telling me this review is getting too long so good luck!(:Caleb Meyer

Once you start taking BCOR classes, you can't transfer out, and then they charge you double your tuition with upper division tuition from sophomore year and up. It is my first day at Westminster College (8/25/2017) in the MPH program and it made a huge transition on my career choice. Currently, most of the Professors are working in the Public Health filed, which provides student with up to date information and challenges of Public Health program. Everyone at Westminster College is welling to help minimizing the level of stress of grade school. It is amazing how they came up with unique program of MPH. It Is a truly different environment from my undergrad University where professors invest the very effort and time on their student career. Beautiful college, small population of students, excellent buildings with useful tools. Absolutely live the gym, its three floors 💞💞 some great professors, but also some poor ones. Make sure to find reviews on your professors or ask to change within the first week. Great theater and events. This college really was a dream come true, I met some of the realist people in my life. The lacrosse team is excellent, great field to play on. Great little shops near by, bed bath and beyond, red lobster, olive garden. Really great experience overall.Bella Gold

My youngest graduates from here in TWO weeks! This college- tho liberal- is incredible with its awareness of current trends and events. They have a keen awareness of humanity and constantly seek out community involvement and mentorship for their students. I have spoken here at their business school I have attended academic events and luncheons on behalf of the community. I’ve toured here with my daughter. Saw Dr. John Fang in an emergency procedure at the U of U Med Center. He was the most rude and unprofessional doctor I've every had the misfortune to see. I was terribly sick, and because he had to do emergency procedures on me on a Sunday, he was rude and unprofessional and when he yanked on a tube I had in me, he caused me to choke and get much sicker. This guy should lose his license!!! He is the chief of this department which is hard to believe!barbara kennedy

Husband is a 2nd year med student here and has found amazing opportunities and people to work with. He has loved all of his professors and doctors that he has worked with so far and feels prepared for Step 1. We have loved our experience at the U so far. It is a lot of money but it is well spent. We drove my father 4 hrs to the VA hospital ER in Salt Lake City hoping they could treat his excruciating pain – we think it’s back pain but still aren’t sure. Everything we have done thus far didn’t work and we are getting exceptionally concerned because he’s not been able to walk or sit for 10 weeks, each Dr states what isn't the problem but no answers as to what is the problem. He just knew the VA would help him. They sent him packing the first night telling him they can’t admit him if it’s not life or death, but if we could get them a referral from his VA Dr back home, they should be able to get him a shot through their orthopedic pain clinic then go from there. Well we didn’t hear from them for a few days. We kept calling them and they strung us along like they were going to help us. What a joke!!! Today, 3 days later, my parents are still waiting in Salt lake for answers, were told the Salt Lake VA won’t help him, not can’t help him, WON’T. They will refer him to a Sheridan hospital. My dad cannot travel well because he has to lay down to minimize the excruciating pain. So, SLC is a 4 hr drive from where my parents live . . . Sheridan is an 8 hr drive. Are you serious? Is this how you care for your veterans? I’m sickened by this.Suzette Marcellino

If you want to know what American Universal Healthcare would look like. Take one step into the dilapidated building and poor medical care you receive here. I was a employee at to other VA healthcare VISN’s just meaning areas. The hospitals were well staffed and cared about the quality of patient care. Unfortunately for the SLC VA hospital the quality of services provided are horrendous. From the wait times for appointments to the ability to see an actual doctor. Almost every provider is a resident or medical student. If you are lucky enough to see the attending they are so busy and looking over multiple residents/students they won’t even bother to get a full medical history. If you are lucky enough to have Tricare. Do everything you can to be seen in the community.Jamie Martinovich de Maria

I have had excellent care at multiple clinics since moving the the Salt Lake Valley 3 months ago. I would rate overall 5 stars, EXCEPT that (1) the texts and emails informing me of appointments did not state the building number in all cases, and I was not told the number until arriving at the main campus entrance (Bldg 14), for example that audiology is in Bldg 90 1/2 mile away, and (2) the map was in error, because audiology is in Bldg 590, not 90. This confusion caused me to be late to my initial appointment.Bruce Palmer

As a mother to 3 teenage daughters and a public health employee who works with disadvantages populations in the Salt Lake City area, I will say that I am extremely disappointed with the level of care and professionalism. While Dr Nikki may possess competent clinical knowledge; she demonstrates a profound lack of insight as to what is needed to be an effective provider of at-risk populations. She seems more concerned with befriending her patients as opposed to actually being of service to them. As a provider who works with teenagers and more importantly a provider to pandemic afflicted teenagers, and teenagers navigating the nuances of gender identity it would behoove Dr Mihalopoulos to spend some time outside the clinic so as to better understand the skill set that is necessary to treat at risk populations. In my experience, she chose judgment over investigation and knowledge to guide her treatment. In support of that judgment she crossed the line both ethically, professionally, and legally; deleting clinical notes, consulting and treating a minor outside of what is permitted by HIPAA, and prescribing medication for a minor patient that would have been contraindicated based on family history. I find her cavalier M, above reproach attitude toward the care of her patients to be severely lacking to the point of gross negligence. If, as a parent, you are navigating some of the more complex psycho-social and socio-economic issues that certain teenagers bring to the table in light of our current societal landscape I absolutely would NOT recommend Dr Nikki.Alexis Bard
