Love the QC CUNY campus along with free QC Red/CUNY black shuttle bus for students that has certain pick and drop off points . Great academics (I was in Family and Child Studies so I could eventually do Early Childhood P-3, and I know the Musical Theater and Dance programs are amazing. Also the Visual Communication Design BFA) but I have complaints about dorm life. I was put in a dorm room with a smoker even though I have a chronic illness and explicitly put on the roommate application that I did NOT want to live with a smoker. She came in every night smelling of smoke and it was not… a good situation. Not much to do on campus either as far as activities (personally, as I'm not one for sports or many of the clubs they offered) I did appreciate that there was an ice skating rink so close to campus! But I went home every weekend. Disability Resource Center is AWESOME. If you need support or accommodations because of a disability or chronic illness I strongly suggest checking in with them!!!Laura Whitney

Now that my son is graduating I can write a review. The school administration, professors, and overall staff are unresponsive and ill informed. Takes weeks to get answers and then they are conflicting. Graduation ceremony multiple posts graduates need to be there for 11 no 12 no 11. Guests can arrive 60 minutes early. Guests stand In Parking lot 7 . No one there directing people to opposite side of building for entrance. Graduates just standing around in the parking lot again no direction. We went there for a sports clinic . Nice facility and staff. The campus seems well maintained and up dated. The training was professional. I’m not certain about the academics, as we were not there to take a class. The campus is a bit sprawling and it took a bit to figure out where we needed to go…all in all- the road signage is adequate. There is a Yogi Berra stadium which looked interesting.eric j

If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Does not actually teach anything, except the one time he was being evaluated. Does not respond to emails. Never comes on camera. Samuel Olagun- jeez where do I begin. Just do not take him. Arrogant, condescending, rude, unresponsive. Evan Owens- spent most of the semester focused on his graduate work than our class. Gave the same grade to everyone in our group project even though 2 people did no work. They earned a free A. Overall the school is a nightmare and I am so happy that I have never had to step foot on this campus. They act like they are doing you a favor instead of their jobs. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. As F-1 visa international student, I would say that ASA College is a great place for our educational and career goals. Professors are responsive and very collaborative as well as helpful. During my education in ASA College I was able to make friends with students from different parts of world. The most of them are my lifetime friends now. Classes are not too big. Therefore, providing a tremendous opportunity to study and excel your knowledge and/or skills. I would recommend international students to study in ASA College if they want to be ready to compete within existing job market and get a job they are looking for. One of the benefits of ASA College is providing an internship opportunity. My internship experience in engineering company was extremely interesting and fulfilling where I gained a valuable and measurable work experience. For 4 years Rutgers was our home, and the center of our family life. Our eldest children grew up here and the youngest was born. It was a wonderful life experience as a family, as people and students. Life at Johnson apartments was happy, with difficult moments of adaptation but definitely a great challenge. From the moment I was accepted to a few months later, it’s been nothing but miscommunication, incorrect information, and confirming false details left and right. Name any kind of detail, and they’ve gotten it wrong. Name any kind of procedural, logistical, student experience piece, and there’s conflicting information. The “right hand doesn’t talk to the left” saying doesn’t even begin to describe how dysfunctional this place already is, and classes haven’t even started. When you’re about to go into $120,000+ debt for the rest of your life you’d at least expect the “student success advisor” not to demean you at every turn, or for at least one person to confirm details that are actually true. If you’re considering applying here, go absolutely anywhere else and spare yourself the unbelievably unnecessary headaches and stress. I started going to NYU dental clinic in October 2017 for a dental evaluation and any work that may be needed including one implant on the upper right quadrant which had been missing for several years. Five years and many visits later and I need more work than ever, and we are still nowhere close to replacing the tooth I originally came in for. Now that clinic has broken at least three other teeth that later needed to be removed and I’m now walking around with three missing teeth, and one half-broken-off tooth in need of extraction. With no treatment in the foreseeable future as their students will not even work on my teeth through no fault of my own. I often see ads for how great NYU College of Dentistry implants is, but they don’t tell people that it will take years to actually get one if ever. The students pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for a dental degree at NYU and the school charges patients through insurance and private payments so they can practice but it treats the patients like dental training manikins. It takes weeks and sometimes months just to get an appointment and you have a bunch of follow-up appointments that could the rest of the semester to work on just one tooth. They take my blood pressure before starting a session, which has always been low as I exercise regularly and run 17-20 miles a week but all the damage they caused to my mouth required even more work than before and they wanted me to pay for the damage they caused. This resulted in a spike in blood pressure one time and asked me to leave and see a cardiologist which I did and after a battery of tests was told I was perfectly healthy. However, I refuse to go back to NYU Dental Clinic.Joseph vizzielli

It's the first time to go to dentist in the US and I was kind of nervous but my students were very nice and gentle. And sane students are in charge always you go.(If they graduate then different student will be.) Usually a junior and a senior student are one pair. And it is appreciative price not like super expensive dentists. Treatments may take time since students give you the treatments mostly with supervised the dentist professor only at the beginning or the end so I recommend you if you can be patient and give them enough time. Just one thing, I went here for a filling treatment and I didn’t feel any pain at all and I didn’t know what kind of filling procedure they will give me. Then the senior student gave me TWO anesthesia shots which were UNNECESSARY!! I couldn’t tell my filling was good or not because of numbness around my teeth and mouth so I had to go back one more time to adjust on different day. My mouth was uncomfortable during the period. So it’s better you ask them every time BEFORE they do treatment for your teeth.日福米豪

I have been trying to get an appointment here for over 2 years. Each time I call, I am told different things and that's only if they pick up. I was told by their staff I was indeed a good fit for their disability dental clinic. I was told they don't take medicaid despite it saying it on their own website. When I pointed that out to the receptionist, she snapped at me about how that's not in her control. I was just letting you know so someone could take it off the website if its not true and then people wouldn't call and waste your time asking if you take medicaid. But to add on to that, another receptionist said you DO take medicaid. This place is very confusing and disorganized. I really needed your services and the crazy thing is, I still do! The longer it takes, the more afraid I will be of the dentist. I just wish if you weren't gonna help, You would've been upfront, honest and not let me suffer in pain for a return call that never came. I really had faith in you.Angel Baby

But beware of this place: -no letters of recommendation from faculty unless it’s your advisor -no fellowship advising and poor career services-forget it if you want a Fulbright or some other award -cost cutting with tons of adjuncts teaching electives -grad assistantships with no tuition support -office hours “by appointment” -grade inflation All in all it is a good school but to call it top 20 would be an overstep. Faculty seem to be invested in research not teaching or student relationships. Dr. August is an exceptional doctor. I was referred to her for the first time by my Perinatalogist in 2012 after I developed preeclampsia at 27-weeks gestation. I cannot sing the praises highly enough of Dr. Graham and his team. Dr. Graham is one in a million and anyone who sees him and becomes a patient should know that they are in some of the best hands in the city and probably country and world. I have been seeing Dr. Graham for the past 9 months and when I showed up at his office he was my last hope. I had initially fallen ill with digestive problems but once treated with antibiotics I was considered cured, however many problems persisted. I had seen over fifteen doctors and specialists in the City who all deemed me perfectly healthy by western medicine standards and wanted to give me medicine to treat the symptoms I was experiencing, which didn't help. It wasn't until I met Dr. Graham and the nutritionist on his team Michelle, that I finally found people who believed me and assured me I wasn't "crazy" and didn't attribute the symptoms I was experiencing to depression or anxiety. What I liked is that they aren't snappy, they don't get angry if you make a mistake, they realize that you're there to learn and that it's a process. I had lessons with both Jason and Peter throughout my 15 lesson package, and you can't go wrong with either. If you're nervous about learning to drive, the people here are perfect for building your confidence. We progressed from basic driving around the neighborhood, to them judging I could take the next step and go on Queens Blvd to farther areas to practice. This is a really nice school. It was a bit hard for me to find at first as it shares offices with another business. They have very clear packages with lots of options – I took one that included 5 lessons, a pre-licensing course, road test + car for road test.It was great, and I passed on the first try. I already had prior driving experience, but it was good to have a driving refresher after 4+ years of no driving. I had lessons with both Jason and Peter and they were both good instructors who had good pointers both during lessons (a much easier method to parallel park), and on the day of the road test. All in all, I'm very happy with my experience. The communication with Jose the manager was great, and I got an SMS reminder the day before each of my lessons with the time of the lesson.Hila Karimov

If you’re thinking about taking driving lessons here, just do it! You won’t regret it. Peter was a fantastic instructor who guided me throughout my entire driving journey. I had little to no experience with driving prior to coming to 26 mph. With 10 lessons, I passed on my first try! Jose was incredible with scheduling and always made sure everything was set before taking my next lesson. Among teaching me the ins and outs of how to drive, Peter also helped me grow my confidence getting behind the wheel and working through my mistakes. The best surgeon ever!!! My mother, 88 years old needed a surgery to remove gallbladder. She was very hesitant to do the surgery at her age. I was also very worried about my Mom’s health condition. Dr. Narayan explained us all the available options ( including the one of not doing the surgery ). He promised me that he would take a very good care of my Mom and said that he would do the surgery as if it was his own mother. After the surgery Dr. Narayan came out to the waiting area to personally tell me that the surgery was successful. I spent many hours in the waiting area and I didn’t see other surgeons coming out to talk to relatives. My first surgery was awesome! Thanks to Doctor Narayan and his team, for making me feel comfortable and providing excellent pre, during and post surgery care. He’s the kind of doctor I would bring my loved ones too. I trust his opinion and understanding. Visited him with the help of Cornell Weill patient care program after an emergency room visit. Although I was disappointed having been in pain and discomfort before the surgery coming out of the emergency room still having a hernia. Dr. Narayan was Fantastic. I came in for a second opinion about an inguinal hernia reoccurrence. He is the only surgeon that took the time to fully address my concerns and told me all of my options moving forward.
