I applied to one of their online Master’s program and got accepted for the 2022 Fall term. Filled out everything, paid the app fee, paid for all of my official transcripts (this would have been my 4th degree), got to the advising appointment only to be told that all of my questions I needed to “look into on my own”….. I work in higher education and these are thing the advisor should have been able to answer. Then she tells me the code to look at classes after the appointment, which was odd, only to find out the two classes I was going to register for were full and she wasn’t even looking at them at the time of the appointment. This is not how advising is supposed to work. Since I have an existing Master’s I wanted to see if any of my credits could transfer in with a maximum of 6 credit hours. If classes wouldn’t transfer due to program alignment, that would have been fine. However, the reasoning was “ Since you did earn the degree with those courses, he doesn't feel that we can also use them to complete the MA degree.” I’m sorry, what??? I thought this was a wonderful school, that is until Title IX (in my opinion) trumped up charges against me using REDICULOUSLY IRRELEVANT events to back up their claim. I would not recommend this school, I am truly and whole heartedly regretful of choosing this school over all of the other options I had. Something about this school stood out to me, and the counselors here try really hard to get you in. I do not identify with Christian faith and I am not religious at all so I initially felt weird about going to this school, but they mention multiple times that they accept all faiths and backgrounds so I felt better. However, upon talking their forced “Christian Worldview” class, the teacher grades with an iron fist for a 101 class and is just awful. My GPA for sure was going to plummet due to this stupid 101 class that they force on you. Honestly it was so ridiculous that I felt the need to reach out to my advisor. I was trying to come up with a solution because I felt some type of way about this. I suggested them placing me with a different teacher, since this teacher has AWFUL reviews going back years yet they do nothing about it. However they pretty much told me I still had to take the class, I could not switch to another teacher (you cannot pick your own teachers by the way which is huge for me now). Their only solution was that “another teacher would review my work.” This turned me off so bad from the entire school that I ended up withdrawing due to principal which messed up my financial aid. They honestly did not care one bit and obviously know there is a problem but do nothing to address it. I was so turned off that I chose to mess up my financial aid and just pick another school, there was no way that I was finishing out my degree here after this. Go elsewhere !!Taylor

I am an Atheist. I chose this college because it had the focus I was looking for, the delivery method was fully online so I could continue to work, and the price was the best around. I did not feel like being of the Christian faith was a prerequisite. My instructors and professors were not pushy with religion, and for a master's program, I felt like I was able to learn what was necessary for the field I was in. I have a Master's degree and 2 focuses now from GCU and I couldn't be happier with my education and experience. The guidance counselors were great, the financial aid process was easy, and I'm grateful for GCU and all they have done for me.April Wittmeyer

Parking in Garage building#7 on 33rdAvewas the best for going into the areana. We had to checkin at theguard station, drive around it then enter the parking garage. Parking was allowed on the 2ndfloor and above. It was the AFHE homeschool senior graduation. The campuswas very green. The areana was building #38 there is a museum to JERRY COLANGELO here and a beautiful tripple cross monument. The restrooms are spacious and everything but the soap dispensers are automated. I appreciate Rasmussen University for having an abundance of resources and many professors and other staff members who demonstrate they want students to succeed. I especially have enjoyed being a peer educator, being privileged to work with Tammy Hopps who is an excellent supervisor and leader, and also being able to work with other peer educators who care for their peers as much as I do. I transferred from a local state college, which I considered sticking with to save money, but in reality, not much is saved when you compare the timeframe for graduation. At the state college it would take me an extra 2 whole years to receive my BSN, whereas at Rasmussen I save 2 years of time because of their second-degree BSN option. I am very pleased with the quality of technology – at the state school blackboard and other resources were slow and did not work as well on my cell phone, whereas with Rasmussen I can easily access everything I need from my phone when I'm on the go. It's inspiring to see so many single parents and married parents in school, some of which also work full time or part time like myself while completing their degree. I had such high hopes when enrolling at this school. However my experience hasn't been favorable at all. I am a current student and I was disappointed because even though I was able to enroll and start classes I really felt unsupported on this journey. I'm realizing Rasmussen may not be the school for me. I REALLY thought I would be supported and encouraged. I was made to feel that Rasmussen would be rooting for me through my academic journey. Instead I am bombarded with emails and calls telling me what I already know… I owe money. No calls or emails about how I can be helped to budget so that I can pay more toward the balance. I'm only being told: what I owe, to get the balance down to $500-$1000 and to take out loans; which will only put me in debt and it's too early to be taking out loans when I've been in school since September of 2021 and have 2 more years. Also this school doesn't cater to single parents, limited income and individuals that HAVE to work. This school ONLY has day classes for the nursing program and as I said before I HAVE to work full time.Sherria Clark

This morning I called the university for the North Orlando Campus for the Nursing program and spoke to the director of Nursing who was discusstingly rude on the phone. I called to get information, He had no patience and told me Not to proceed a career in Nursing because it was Not for me. This was a university that I was so excited to be a part of and be a graduate of Nursing. The director needs to be Fired because he is giving the university a bad reputation. I had a great experience here with my induction/labor/delivery. As a first time mom, I had no idea what to expect, and I have to say that it turned out to me much better than what I ever imagined. The whole process itself was very smooth, and the nurses/doctors were not only very professional but extremely friendly and personable and were very respectful of all my birth wishes. I really appreciated that. The recovery after delivery was very comfortable and in a very modern, almost hotel-style room. My baby and I were continuously checked on, and they really tried to make me feel more confident about being a new mom. My only regret is not staying the extra night I could have had! Overall I had a great stay at AdventHealth Orlando. I was scheduled for a C-section but my little guy came a few days early. The whole process of getting me admitted and prep for my C-section went smoothly. The doctors were friendly and informed me about the whole process. Recovery went well too. The nurses checked on me consistently. The only thing I would recommend for improvement would be the meals and the lactation consultants. After I had my baby I didn’t see a lactation consultant until the next day. I think it’s important to see a lactation consultant periodically throughout the day to assist Moms with breast-feeding.Rebecca McKoy

Uterine cancer Dr Holloway and his team along with the nurses were top notch. They answered and took care of me as if I was family. The hospital has morning prayer to begin the day which is such a blessing. The other staff at the hospital we’re wonderful as well registration testing guiding us around how to get from point a to b the food was wonderful and I never once had to ask for help after surgery they checked in on me constantly. The waiting room for family kept family members aware of were I was during surgery and recovery. The outside garden was beautiful and peaceful Thank you so much and God Bless you alllisa garrett

This is a "Christian university," which is why I choose to come here and I was the class chaplain for the ultrasound program. AHU (formerly ADU) is far from mercy or grace. I made 2 C's and have been completely dismissed from the program forever (one new and experimental course not required for ultrasound-pediatrics)… 3 years and $30k debt later with 1 required class left, I cannot graduate. I went to the admissions director explaining the circumstances. Basically, I was told their decision stands. Something is very wrong about this situation. My family and 3 children are worst off from AHU. I had to deal with major health issues (and marital) that are now reasonably stable and have been completely withdrawn from the program with one required class remaining to be registered as a sonographer. We may seek legal action against them. I'm a disabled veteran that developed a rare condition and was finally properly diagnosed while attending the program. It was a nightmare trying to go to medical appointments, etc. They treat young and old alike, like children. The program looks for reasons to drop your grade… An example would be the routine checks to look at your home and class notes, books, etc If you don't meet their standard, they take away from your professional integrity grade. The people leading the program are careless/ruthless. The year before last we went through a hurricane with property damage. While all schools were out, mine was in session leaving no time to prepare my home and family… Same thing following the hurricane… we were back in classes being quizzed/tested while public schools had no schooling in session. I was told life happens and in healthcare you must be able to keep up… No excuses… No empathy… I explained there was no power or fuel in my area for over a week, needing to clean up, property damage… Still didn't care. Realistically, someone in my situation could have called out of work opposed to running off on the family having little food, fuel and a damaged home/property to run off school. Sadly, one student who performed well on all their quizzes and tests even came to class to take a quiz with a concussion… No joke! They didn't do well, but it was better than having their grade significantly reduced or receiving an F all together… The negative experiences are endless. Do yourself a favor, if you are determined to enter the ultrasound field, this is not a school to attend. Consider Valencia, Keiser, SantaFe. There was over a 50% fail/drop rate for the class of 2017 (I'm writing this in 2019… would have graduated with the class of 2019) and I'm talking about nearly straight-A students that were hand selected for a program with this high fail rate, which is a testament for this program. We are not dealing with students that don't know how to study or manage themselves. When the program was going through re-certification, we were told what we could and couldn't say… They expressed a concern of the courses having way too much content. Often you'll sit through three hours of lectures and then for the same class have another two to three hours of material to go through in online lectures… I don't know how they got away with only making many of the courses three credit hours. My curriculum changed several times spending money and taking class that were not required because the program kept changing; AHU does not refund unnecessary classes they tell you to take and then drops them as requirements. They do not respect you or your responsibilities as a student or as parent and will not look out for you. I've been to some of the best colleges in Florida: Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Stetson and Asbury Seminary. I've also attended Daytona State college and by far AdventHealth University is the worst experience I've ever had… specifically their ultrasound program. Keep in mind I'm a middle aged adult with a bachelor's of science and a masters with 4 classes remaining to complete my second masters degree. Avoid this schoolJan Vandermark

I was lucky enough to attend both AHU In Florida and Denver. the staffing Florida seem to actually care and go above and beyond for the students who put the work in. they were very well equipped with drop-in tutoring, helpful library, and flexible teacher hours. Denver was not like this. when I left ahu they did not have a nursing teacher in place;instead had the principal overextend herself to not only teach but continue her job as principal with help of a old nursing friend (with no teaching experience whatsoever). they did not have a library or any official tutoring hours except for a student-run tutoring session held over Skype. also keep in mind that you will be barely any financial assistance considering that the Denver campus is barely set up as a Colorado college therefore is not accepting Colorado Pell Grant or any other Colorado grants or financial assistance. I was paying almost 7000 a trimester, 5000 out of pocket with FASFA help. then there was the religious stigmas and relationships within the school. the only way I can describe the situation was.. think of mean girls. the religious, varsity, I'm-better-then-you white women. that is the people running this campus. all women are over 50 years old, religious, gossiping, and judgmental. if you are not exactly what they want you to be, you will experience discrimination, bullying, and gossip. I never felt comfortable there talking to any of them about any situations I was having in my life because of the energy The faculty gave off. so if you are a uptight, well off, Christian who can devote the next four years to learning everything from the book because there are no teachers to help you; then this is the school for you, otherwise there is many other schools that are better prepared to help you become a real world nurse.Sierra Freemyer

I am a current student at Adventist University and I do not regret my decision. I have finished my first year of college and can tell you that the professors care about the students and are always available to speak with you with open arms. The staff is friendly and helpful and make it their duty to help you as best as they can. The campus is clean and great and not to mention how it is right next to the Florida Hospital which gives students chances to get that hands on experience. It is great knowing you are surrounded by people who have a similar passion for helping people and an interest in health science professions.sAga99

UPDATE !!! I took the CNA State Board Exam yesterday 8/24 and PASSED both the Written and Hands on Skills. My Skills were ROM on Left Shoulder, Pulse and Perineal Care !!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND Southern Technical Institute After years of procrastinating and putting off becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Med Tech. I had decided to do the CNA and HHA Orlando Package Deal at Southern Technical Institute. The package included Online Certified Nursing Assistant, 75 Hour Home Health Aide (HHA) Self-Administered Medication (6 Hour Med Tech) plus 24 CEU’s. After completing and passing all of the required courses I had attended the CNA Power Weekend class that was from Friday 4/16 to 4/18. And the class and the instructor Ms. Ruth was a AMAZING 🤩 She was very professional and made sure got and thoroughly understand all of the information that’s required for the State Board Exam and what we needed know when we get into field. She also made the class fun and enjoyable. When it was time for us to practice our skills she given feedback and corrected us when needed to make sure we were performing the skills correctly. All of my fellow classmates was so FUN to be around. We all worked together and helped each other when needed. And we all Received our Certificate of Completion. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking courses at this School … GREAT EXPERIENCE 😁 !!!La La

If I could give this school a zero I would. 1- I took the phlebotomy classe there prior to covid( couldn’t do my clinicals) so they contacted me after months and gave me dates and days that I work ( mind you I have a new job and they never communicated not once or give me a heads specially whenever I am new on this job) 2- they promise me that part of my tuition will be a cpr class I graduated since last year prior to covid and I still haven’t gotten a call to schedule my cpr class they promise. They will act like they are trying to help, or they are concern. It’s all a front, they do what works for them. The staff here are very helpful and Ms. Rosa was on top of everything. Ms. Miller was funny and enjoyable to learn phlebotomy from. I was a little nervous taking a class here since it was not an official college like Seminole state but they work just as well. The communication at this school is much better than any state associated college. The class I took came with a CPR class, textbooks, scrubs, and a 40 hr externship done at advent health. Just stay on top of your paperwork and be organized with your time and there really shouldn't be any problems at all because Jeanette and Rosa (the front desk) are very efficient and communicate well.Steven T

DO NOT ENROLL HERE. USF sent me to the St. Petersburg campus because the Tampa campus was “full,” despite there being off campus housing options still available. In summary, they relocated me to another campus that I did not want to go to rather than just inform me that I would not be able to have access to on-campus housing. I went here for part of my undergrad several years ago and came back for my graduates (IO Psychology). This university is a blast of culture and learning. Most of the professors are amazing, there's clubs for everything, classes that range from odd to fantastic and everything in between. They keep adding to MMC making new buildings, bringing in new vendors, and creating new art. The sports are great, there's a game room, a piano room, constantly some kind of event from movie screenings or concerts to fairs and festivals. They are doing great with their inclusiveness and effort in making the university feel like family. This is one of the best Universities I've been to and am proud to be a panther.Dane Luke Wagner

Unless your parents can afford the exorbitant tuition or you have a great scholarship I would not recommend attending UM. I had some good professors and some not so good. Class sizes are fairly small which will matter for some, others not so much. People talk about the campus being beautiful but in my opinion it was nothing special. It is a fairly new school and the modern buildings lack the character of older schools established in the 1800s. In addition, the older buildings they did have are being torn down to make room for newer facilities. Weather is a plus if you don't mind the humidity or lots of rain. If you are looking for the "typical" college town experience I doubt you will find it at UM due to its location in a large metro. It seems like UM is a hot destination for prep school kids from the Northeast. The vast majority of guys that attend UM are bros. Also rich kids from around the world, especially Latin America, the Caribbean, and China. Save your money. Start off at a Community or Junior College then transfer to a public four year college or university. At the end of the day the University of Miami (like all other colleges and universities) is a business. They just want your money. They don't care about you or what happens to you after you leave. Absolutely beautiful campus! I took a tour and the campus is very post-modern. Lots of art works and installations spread throughout. There is a wonderful mall style food court. We took a look at the dorms and each person gets their own room in their floor. Alumni here and this school really is what you make of it. And it basically caters to all types for better and also for the worse. If you are a serious student there is so much funding at this powerhouse school and opportunities you CAN find something as long as you look for it. If you are more into the party scene and just want to enjoy college than by all means you will be surrounded by many sharing the same goal. But as a serious student (med school now) I can't say that I am happy with my decision at UCF. Although I did have fun I think it held me back more than push me. Only because there is too much emphasis on distractions/events/gym/sports and the party-school environment. With so many students that are not taking school seriously I let myself get carried away with the flow thinking my lazy lifestyle was the "norm" for a student. Kids go into class in their pajamas and the class sizes are so big you'll never get to know your professors let alone a letter of recommendation for higher education. So I'd say its a slightly below average place, as long as you don't get caught up in the wave of blowing off your school work which can really hurt in the long run. Avoid that and you can reap the benefits of all that insane funding they get.Christopher Rohner

You definitely need to stay on top of your grades- it's viewed that it is your grade, and therefore something you should be monitoring. The professors will always help and change grades when proof is shown. The syllabus of each professor is your bible. Always go to office hours, and use e-mail or webcourses to keep in contact with both the professor and TA (if applicable). Definitely find an advisor you like, even if it may not be the one assigned to you… First Year Advising is amazing! Make sure to take full advantage of it! Try to get at least a but involved with the school, as it helps give you that extra motivation to go through the school work. Beautiful campus, amazing resources when you search for them- and never be afraid to just randomly drop into an advisement area and ask where to get help for whatever you need- it's sometimes hard to figure out what advisement department handles what.. So just ask! The campus is also perfectly planned out in an easy to follow system!Brittany Willis

Graduated from UCF and I loved every minute of being there. The facilities are amazing and the school is always working to provide the students with more resources, opportunities, and activities. Most of my professors were absolutely amazing, and as long as you show that you're dedicated and willing to work, they will work with you to help make sure that you're passing and understanding the material in the courses. The actual campus is gorgeous and they work hard at maintaining all of the buildings. My biggest complaint is the parking because there's never a place to park so I would HIGHLY recommend finding other modes of transportation ( I took the campus shuttle which was convenient and timely). The staff there is always very helpful and I never really had problems with speaking to an adviser or talking to the financial aid office, etc. Attending this school was an excellent college experience. Just be prepared to work hard and take responsibility for your schedule, etc.Shira

Only problem is I will have 2 years of college under my belt before I even come here, so I'll only be on this beautiful campus for 2 years to get my bachelor's. Visited the campus twice, once for a football game, and once for a baseball game. After going to a block party before Saturday night football, I can say that Tallahassee has a great nightlife. Some people start college late for various reasons but to say no because of how their ACT scores were in high school years ago and they are an adult now? Their tours are more involved, informative, and helpful than any other school I've visited even around the country. Walked the Goldenrod trail and the Blueberry trail. Both are very pretty. We were there early in the day during the week and only saw two other people the all time we were there. The trails are well maintained. The loop around the lake allows for a variety of views. The trails have a large number of wooden boardwalks allowing easy transit over the bogs.
