This place is a disgrace. The many of the professors refuse to meet outside of their office hours, even when their office hours are during another class. As of now I can count no less than 10 broken vending machines on campus, some that haven't been fixed in 4 months! I've called both CMU and the vendors, and neither one wants to fix the machines. I guess they don't want to make money. The parking meters aren't maintained. I found one of the only available parking spaces near the Univerity Center. It was filled with quarters so much that it couldn't accept any more, so I was unable to pay my meter. You supposedly can pay with an app, but it's only available for iPhone, and I have an android, so i want able to pay that way either. I came out to find I had been ticketed for not paying for a space (I didn't have a student pass at the time). This is an absurd business practice. The bathrooms smell like urine all the time, especially in Pearce Hall and Engineering Technology buildings. I have found the same filth left on the toilets in the bathrooms several days in a row. Considering the volume of traffic, those bathrooms should be cleaned twice a day, but at least once a day. The engineering building is the most frustrating sight on campus. When it rains heavily multiple buckets are used to catch the leaks inside the building. There are almost no places to plug in your phone or laptop because there aren't enough electrical outlets in the common areas, and of the ones that are present, many aren't working or are broken. The only reprieve is an extension cord that someone plugged into the cooling of the first floor to access from the common area on the second floor. Otherwise, in order to charge your phone or computer, you have to sit on the floor like a child playing with his toys because the only outlets available are in the middle of a hallway and are meant for maintenance for cleaning rather than students. Basically, you will not find working electrical outlets in the same place as seating areas on campus. All of the sectional furniture in engineering should have been replaced 5 or more years ago, it's all stained and broken down or torn to the point that goodwill probably wouldn't accept it. There are no study rooms in the entire building, making it hard to find places to work on group projects without leaving to make room for a class. The printers in this building are a joke. Most of the ones in the classrooms are blinking because they are out of toner, paper, or just gave up on life. When they are working they often aren't accessible to student accounts and I have to go to the front office to print, except that I have to convert whatever I need to print into a pdf because that's all it accepts. I guess it's too much to expect when they don't even know how to install the door stops in the correct place to…eh…stop a door. I will amend this review when I see that my tuition dollars are being used effectively demonstrate basic maintenance and upkeep on campus. Since no one is interested in fixing the problem, hopefully posting here will make this more of a priority for Central Michigan University.christopher chism

I had a great experience attending this School. There is so much diversity here and different ethnic groups. When I was there I lived in Calkins Hall. It was an all girls Hall back then. I learned so much and made so many lifelong friends. It changed me forever as a person. This is a really good School to go to in a small town. There are lots to do. This University has a lot of shady practices going on. Please be careful with taking information given by financial aid employees as fact. I have been given conflicting information from this department to where I feel I can no longer trust them. I HIGHLY recommend doing emailing communications with them and BCC other departments that is pertinent to your concern for a second opinion. It's unfortunate, but employees will lie and say they did not say a certain thing to keep their jobs and will lie about what was said with no problems. EVERY DEPT IS RAN LIKE ITS OWN BUSINESS, THE DEPARTMENTS DO NOT COMMUNICATE. I have been a student here for almost 3 years, and it has been a nightmare. ALSO, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GO TO YOUR DEPT DIRECTLY FOR ADVISING. THE UNDERGRADUATE ADVISING CENTER WILL REGISTER YOU FOR CLASSES YOU DON'T NEED AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE AND WILL NOT CARE. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this school. I live on campus and a week can’t go by without something breaking. I’m beginning to think Lamar puts LITERAL bandaids on things to “fix” the problem. Also the dorms are not what I’d call clean. I moved into my summer dorm a few days ago and the place was infested with gnats. I’ve killed at least one hundred of these things in a matter of a few days. Daughter is a Freshman there this year. I’m completely impressed with the campus And the dorms are amazing never seen ones so nice. The student resources are the highlight for me, the learning lab for learning disabilities is simply perfect. Great school for engineering and decent for nursing. Business school will depend on your work and the professors you choose(from 1-4 ⭐️). The support sucks. Try calling financial aid or student accounts and you know how living in purgatory feels like. One hour of waiting on the line is typical and if you wanna use the outdated mymav website to get help without calling them, good luck 😉 The number in the picture below belongs to student accounts department who will drop you from all your classes when u owe money so you need speed dealing with them. I suggest you’ll go there physically even if you’re infected with Covid19 as you have a better chance of reaching them in person. If I could give this university a zero star, I would do it. As an international student, I have millions of terrible experiences with this university. The graduate school and the international students office have been really really rude. They will try to frustrate you using any way they could. Also, the insurance requirement for international students have been so unfair. They will charge you lots lots of money for the insurance for the summer time even though you are not enrolled in any classes during the summer. Also, the staff working in the graduate school have been so rude and know very little. Some of the graduate and undergraduate classes have been so meaningless and do not worth the money.yaqing cao

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. Writing a review for UNMC is an emotional task for me because they have been there for my mom and family through life, sickness, recovery, health, and even death. In all they've been there for they did right, without judgement or bias, and with care, hope, and support. I live in Kansas, but I know this hospital and all the towers better than some streets near my home. I've interacted with many specialty doctors, nurses, techs, housekeeping staff, ER, security team members, and so many others. We've experienced teams in Kidney Transplant, Wound Care, Cardiovascular, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Derm, Cancer Center, and the Comfort Care Team. I can tell you that these teams are here because they love what they do. If you're considering UNMC as a new place to care for your needs I would do so without hesitation. When my mom moved they were so helpful in her transition to Kansas. Without them we'd be lost. We will miss each of her teams, their knowledge, and their care. It was so hard to leave.Tam E

Very disappointed in care provided. Nursing seems sorely under staffed. Although they frequently have cell phone in hand. Communication between staff (doctors and nursing staff)is lacking. Communication of providers and patients is insufficient. Facility is dirty dusty and run down. And should we talk about HIPPA….nothing to talk about….it doesn't exist there. Hep locks do not get flushed even after several days….negligent much? Showers/bed baths not offered to patient even after 3 days in-house. Are they trying for some nosocomial infections?S B

Today I went to Nebraska medical center and the eye clinic. The people that are very friendly and nice it's clean has three levels. The doctor I seen seem very knowledgeable and was very concerned with my eye condition it was funny when we first pulled up and parked in the first row there was a broom next to the handicap sign made me laugh remind me of handicap which parking. Someone probably had clean snow off their car with the broom and left it there.Karen Beautiful

There is literally not one part of this school that isn't actively trying to make everything horrible. They know they can't possibly be held responsible, so they don't care. Dealing with housing is like jumping through 100 hoops that are invisible and on fire. They don't tell you anything until the very last moment when it's too late. Registering for classes is just as hard. I was on track to graduate early and then they change the requirements which made multiple classes not count towards my degree and added new ones that aren't even available. The security is non-existent. The school is entirely aware of the dozens of bikes being stolen over the course of the past year. Still not a single camera watching any of the bike racks and they will fine you if you keep your bike inside. People try to open your door at any time. Whether it be 3am or 3pm. The dining hall is closed for every single break with no other options or awful ones. People live here, a lot without personal transportation. That's why the dining hall exists. They find every way imaginable to make more money off of their students. They will give you 3 parking tickets within 4 hours even with a parking pass, but they be soooo gracious enough to lower the fines after 3 weeks of pending the appeal. I've heard professors talking about how "stubborn" another professor is and how "they will use a textbook and curriculum until it's completely obsolete". They will give you 12 hours notice before you move dorms after telling you it'd be a month. They have partnerships with McGrawHill and probably every other online workbook which means students are forced to pay almost $200 for each class for a membership that teaches students absolutely nothing.Hayden Watts

Baylor is an amazing school. For a few reviews before me we are not all "rich kids wanting to blow daddy's money" or "rude". I personally have a bad background that would not match the first statement. I am not rich. I am blessed to be in this university thanks to scholarships and my hard working mother. Baylor itself is a blessing. Its a rigorous school BUT very well worth it. I love being part of the Baylor community. Its a beautiful campus filled with loving people. Its not "perfect" because nothing is. There will be a few issues like yes there are some kids who don't care and my be rude or blow things off but really if you are a part of it you will see the majority of the campus and the people here are more than amazing and loving. This is a fantastic university for the liberal arts. I have talked to people from other universities and to those that have come to visit me at college, and all of them see a difference in the student body. There is just a different atmosphere. All the people are kind and welcoming and always willing to help in times of need. The professors are nationally ranked and are not only outstanding in their fields of study, but wonderful people as well. Even if you're not looking to go to college, its a beautiful campus to just walk around in. It's almost like a park in some ways. Just give it a visit and I promise you'll be hooked! I loved my time as I attended Baylor for undergrad, and grad school (2008-2015). The campus has changed so much since i first step foot in 2008 (all for the better). Baylor (and Waco) is in a resurgence/growth period. Its an awesome time for Baylor and Waco. I loved my time there even though I'm not religious (agnostic/theist). Great people (students and especially faculty), and community. There was a reason why I came back to get my masters at Baylor. They helped me get through some rough times, and i am better for it now. Extremely racist school. I attended here for 3 years (2009-2012). It was a legacy of my family to attend and graduate from here and I regret it. Not only did I not graduate, I felt unwelcomed as a Native student. I even participated in Native student organizations and spent a lot of time at the cultural center because that was the only place I felt comfortable and accepted. South Dakota is just a racist state all around. I regret listening to my parents. I should have went to the school I was also accepted and had really wanted to go to. These white ppl can keep their precious athletics department! Even the frat parties were racist and sucked! The varying architecture of all the buildings on campus was nice though. Went for one year and never went back. The general required classes are similar at other places, but other places actually care about you. I went to another college before this one, and USD refused to allow me to transfer the credits because they were from out of state. The admissions were nice, but whoever decides what credits transfer couldn't care less about you if you come from out of state. Their biology department needs major help, because they had to change teachers often and even hired one who couldn't speak English. In the spring of my senior year of high school, I did a self guided 10 minute tour of Macalester with my mom (after applying to Mac on a whim). I saw a guy in overalls with crazy socks and crocs walking around campus and told my mom "I think I should go here." Macalester was not part of the plan, but I am so happy and grateful it became my home. Some of the best people on the planet are found here and they will challenge you and help you grow. Beautiful campus – especially in the fall! I love being able to go on runs by the Mississippi River and go to concerts in the Twin Cities. The people are also some of the most dedicated and engaged individuals I've ever met. My first year floormates remain some of my closest friends to this day. I also still keep in touch with professors. They are so accessible and really want to see you succeed! During my time at Mac, I had multiple professors invite me to their homes and take time to get to know me outside of the classroom. I was looking for a college that would have all the resources I would need in order to go to Optometry School and UGA has exceeded my expectations. Cons: this school loves to throw away money for stuff nobody asks for (concerts every Friday, a park that removed half the parking at this university, an ugly alumni house at the front of the university, etc). Meanwhile, their internet is God-awful, the library doesn't have books for specific classrooms ready to check out like other universities, they have no calculators ready to check out or laptops. Every computer in the entire school is extremely slow and sticky. The food provided at the MET is bad most of the time plus they close everything too early. The gym has an unnecessary amount of cardio machines that take up 1/3 of the gym. The people that run the intramural sports are very poorly-trained individuals that aren't consistent with the rules and will sometimes make stuff up. One time, I overheard the ladies that work with financial aid, cashiers, general questions, etc. giggling at the fact that they had somebody on hold for 50 minutes already and they were all snickering at each other to keep them on hold to see how long they go for. The mascot is kinda lame but that's just my personal opinion. At this point, I've realized I'm just ranting cause of the new construction there is going on and I couldn't find parking nearby cause of it and the wifi is acting up again. But really, this school does offer good stuff such as: Pros: The professors are amazing The students are amazing The school is growing The new parking garage is convenient. The environment feels safe. Believes in free speech. Many many other things can be listed. Overall, this school is alright. You'll get your education, which is what mostly matters in the end. This school is alright. Most of the professors I have run into here want you to succeed and do a very fine job teaching. Which, I am a biology major so I cannot speak for all departments. My biggest complaint is the One Stop Services Center. Nobody can seem to keep their story straight and if you call in for help be prepared to wait at minimum thirty minutes before you actually get "helped". I use "helped" loosely because as stated earlier none of the employees behind the desk seem to be on the same page when it comes to offering help. I've received three very different answers from three different employees regarding the SAME issue. Also, parking is absolutely dreadful! If you don't have an 8am class good luck finding parking! I have spent thirty minutes circling the lots waiting to spot an opening and I have missed classes before due to there being inadequate parking.Cheyenne Dooly

Beautiful campus off a not-so scenic main thoroughfare (Baltimore Avenue). I attended for one short semester and it was nice to return and see all the progress and development that has occurred over the years. Numerous new buildings including campus dining and resident halls. The campus tour we attended for my child was long, and they still have covid protocols required for visitors, which is a bit bizarre, but not entirely surprising, since the State of Maryland always thinks it's on the cutting edge of progress. Also surprised how dead it was on homecoming weekend, and the students we did see wandering on campus do not wear their Maryland colors. A bit disappointing.Avalus

From my experience till now UMD is an amazing college with an even amazing staff and infrastructure. Orientation for students are very important and UMD makes sure they have proper ones. The college is really big and is like another city in itself with everything possible available. It will take time for you to know your way around. Classes are equipped with the latest tech. Lecturers know their subject and are very approachable. These few words wouldn't justify everything about the college. Make sure you do your own research. Really nice room. All the lights had mood settings and automation. The scenery was very modern and clean. The bathroom was nice and it had some amazing views very comfortable hotel would definitely visit again. My only recommendation would be maybe having some kind of microwave or something available in the room. I have been a student of DePaul University – Law College since 2019. Before joining DePaul I was contemplating between DePaul and other Universities, I am so happy I made the right choice to join DePaul. Not only is it a prestigious University with many famous alumni names, but also because it is a University that has made the list of the top best Universities for many years. Depaul has the best facility you can hope to study under, the administration are very helpful and my advisor, is one of the best, always available whenever I needed assistance, guidance or help. If you are a graduate of DePaul, you can be sure that employers will want to add you to their staff. Being part of DePaul, is being part of a large educational family. There are two campuses, the main one is located in Lincoln Park and the other one is located in the Loop, right in the heart of the business hub, if you are attending College of Law or College of Business. There are two huge libraries in the Loop campus, with access to Starbucks, as well as to, Barnes and Nobles. In both Colleges you have cafeterias amd study lounges. There is a Toastmasters club at DePaul and many other groups and clubs to join. Also, DePaul offers a help center, fpr students who may need extra help with certain classes, as well as, a writing center for whenever you need your essays reviewed, with feedback and assistance in improving it before submission. With all of the above and more, I could not possibly list all of the things DePaul os known for, or offers, but I can tell you one thing, if you happen to choose DePaul and become accepted, be sure you are part of the many successful people who will graduate with pride. You can be a full fledged patriotic American, but just because your parents travel and you may have a foreign transcript (from high school/ middle school) you are deemed an international student. To add insult to injury this particular issue entailed the student already having graduated from a neighboring community college. Yet still, they are deemed international. An obvious protocol set in place to guzzle money out of the student. Wasn’t even thrilled about their level of academics to begin with, so not having this school as an option isn’t a loss in the slightest for our family. Hispanic Heritage event went on without a hitch. Free of Problems and controversy. Entertainment was Great Food was Awesome. The Highlight was the introduction of the Main Speakers The New Era Young Lord's. Also some Associates and Friends from there Early Year's. The Bomba group provided good Entertainment and a Festive Atmosphere. In the Middle Sixties you could count the Minorities attending DePaul. The all played on the Basketball team. Harvard is one of the most prestigious universities in the World and every one wishes to visit it once in a life time. I had this chance to go there and walk around this beautiful institute. The good thing is that it is open for all and everyone could go around and visit. I saw many tourists there enjoying walking and taking photos. The good thing which I liked was that seeing people doing Yoga in the open space and in nature. I liked that and participated with them in yoga. It was nice walking around Harvard university . I would recommend either taking a guided tour or to download and follow the self guided tour so you understand the history behind the university. I loved the library and the story behind it. Unfortunately wasn’t able to go inside but would have loved to. There is small water splash where I think kids can play had we planned better and known about it.Meghna Rao

Great place and one of the oldest & finest universities in the world. This is a dream place for some students. This institute is very inspiring and admiring. The Widener library is well established. Massachusetts Hall is one of the oldest buildings. Harvard Yard is very amazing to look around. The university has a great history and great heights touched.Hari Swaroop

I'm a male, late 20's student at USF, and this has been my experience: 1) Rigorous – Having had a decent amount of life experience before coming here, I expected it to be easy. I was wrong. As someone who has always been good at math, the math classes were all challenging and required a lot of time and effort to do well in. The same goes for their science classes. I had attended another, easier university before coming here, and the difference was huge. 2) Political/Religious – Being a catholic university in the middle of a very liberal city, there is a good chance that someone will at some point try to shove religion or liberal politics down your throat, with a higher probability of the latter. As someone who doesn't care for politics, I'd prefer if they were left out of the classroom. 3) Small class sizes – All but one of my classes have been under 30 people, with many being less than 20. There are personal, 1-on-1 classes for music lessons in guitar, piano, vocals, etc. There are ample staff to handle any problem and any and all issues I've had were solved quickly. Compare this to a state school with class sizes in the 100's and there is really no comparison. 4) Expensive – With an annual price tag of about 50k, plus the astronomically high San Francisco cost of living, it is incredibly expensive to go to school here. I came here largely because I had a full-ride scholarship, and would have seriously considered other options if I didn't. 5) Amenities – There are several large libraries, excellent quiet study areas, private music rooms with instruments, and the campus itself is quite beautiful. With the tuition comes a free public transit card and gym access, at a very nice gym. 6) Overall quality – The quality of the school overall is very high. I can't say how it compares to the likes of top schools like Stanford, but many of USF's professors have come from those big name schools. The combination of talented, intelligent professors and personal 1-on-1 attention make it a great place to learn and study.Tyler D

I transferred out of the University of San Francisco real quick. The school is expensive, the education is ok but the material is too easy, and the social life is garbage unless you're undoubtedly liberal. The professors were very nice and helpful, but anyone from the administration building is out to get you, ultimately this place is just a big money pit. They'll find a way to fine you and take your money even if you haven't done anything wrong.Alex Douthat

Beautiful campus in the heart of the city but otherwise, a school filled with professors that don’t really care, poor accommodations for students with disabilities, extremely expensive, campus police focuses more on giving you parking tickets and people’s conduct rather than ensuring vehicles are not broken into. Did I mention is extremely expensive and they will not accommodate you well if you need to take time off for medical/family issues.Jake Bilyak

I have to admit, after being accepted to the Master's program early in 2014 I was nervous attending graduate school. I was unsure of what type of situations I would encounter, and what type of curriculum I would face. After the first day of orientation, I knew that the University of Bridgeport was the best choice for me. The staff and professors in my department are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The classes I have taken have not only improved educational leadership qualities, but have also helped improve my mathematical prowess. Although the classes may seem difficult at time, my professors demonstrated an excellent balance in challenging students while holding their interest. I have created many long lasting friendships as well with the students in my program. In concurrence with our education progress, we find ourselves continuously engaging in a sort of fellowship that I have not experienced elsewhere. In essence, the phrase "work hard, play harder" seems fitting. We have fun in class, and we get to work when we need to. I find that my professors are equally as entertained as my fellow students, helping to aid in the maintenance of the positive climate in the classrooms. If anyone reading this is nervous or unsure of their decision to attend the University of Bridgeport, as someone who previously felt the same way I offer the following advice: don't be. This is a phenomenal University with amazing programs and a delightful professional staff. They will help guide you to success by any means necessary. If you put the work in, keep a positive attitude, and remember to have fun, I promise you that the University of Bridgeport won't let you down.Philip Abraham

I am currently a freshman at UB almost finishing my first semester, I am majoring in the health sciences and hopefully 4 years from now I will be doing my masters in Chiropractic. I came to America all the way from Indonesia, I studied at an international school so I have met people from many different countries and cultures, UB made me feel like I never left that sense of living in an international environment because of all the diverse cultures that you find here. Professors, Students and Staff are very open and very supportive if you need any help and the fact that UB is a very small school makes it a better sense of community among students. Classes are good and challenging, resources are provided if in the need of help just like tutoring or counseling. I had the chance to make many close friends in just a few months from different backgrounds, friends that have become a second family to me. Although the distance from my family is too long I feel like I've found a new place that I can call home for the next 7 years. I do not regret my choice.Leonardo Castiglioni

As a current undergraduate student studying International Political Economy and Diplomacy (IPED), I've had nothing short of a wonderful experience at UB. I can only speak for my major, but I love my program. Most of my classes are engaging, and my teachers are always available to talk and answer questions outside of class which is much appreciated. The thing that I love most about UB is the diversity. Especially studying in a internationally focused major, there's a huge difference in talking about events throughout the world, and actually hearing a first person perspective from someone who is from that country. My best friend is from Syria! Of course there's a few things I would change, but overall I am really happy with my experience so far.Virginia Orman

I obtained one of my degrees here, it used to be a good place to get an education, but it has become more liberal and left wing. At one time, the tuition for a full-time evening student was less than that for daytime, which made sense since there was no access to many of the daytime nine-to-five services. We were doing art classes here. And the teacher decided to put everyones projects on the sidewalk. Then some kid came along and started stomping on them like he was jumping in snow. STOMP STOMP STOMP. So, the lesson is dont put students artwork on a sidewalk, and dont let kids inZ Blade

I was at graduation for Freeport high school the people that work there are great …..I don't care for the Hofstra school because of the student that for there especially the ladies lacrosse team that live in my town in Uniondale they make the block look like trash….Irene Salgado

Loved my college experience at UB. Quality academics, quality student life. There is great diversity which will help you with life after college. Food is good, not great, but what do you expect when you are cooking for the masses. Wish people cared more about the athletics. They have made north campus and the apartments surrounding it nice. The alumni base from what I can tell is Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, NYC, Chicago and DC. I also love the city of Buffalo. Downtown offers a lot to do for a mid size city.Joe Segrue

This place is like a palace. Massive, I visit it there on a trip. It took me about 3 hours just to walk around the whole school. Also visit the inside as a visitor. Its a amazing university that offers many course. Lot of friendly people. Adviser will always help student even though their is a lot of student. Amazing Lab as well. Spent few of best times of my life there doing my undergrad and masters (1991-1995). Could never wish better finance school, great summer times with fruit picking seasons and Niagara Falls is only like 1 hr away.
