I appreciate Rasmussen University for having an abundance of resources and many professors and other staff members who demonstrate they want students to succeed. I especially have enjoyed being a peer educator, being privileged to work with Tammy Hopps who is an excellent supervisor and leader, and also being able to work with other peer educators who care for their peers as much as I do. I transferred from a local state college, which I considered sticking with to save money, but in reality, not much is saved when you compare the timeframe for graduation. At the state college it would take me an extra 2 whole years to receive my BSN, whereas at Rasmussen I save 2 years of time because of their second-degree BSN option. I am very pleased with the quality of technology – at the state school blackboard and other resources were slow and did not work as well on my cell phone, whereas with Rasmussen I can easily access everything I need from my phone when I'm on the go. It's inspiring to see so many single parents and married parents in school, some of which also work full time or part time like myself while completing their degree. I had such high hopes when enrolling at this school. However my experience hasn't been favorable at all. I am a current student and I was disappointed because even though I was able to enroll and start classes I really felt unsupported on this journey. I'm realizing Rasmussen may not be the school for me. I REALLY thought I would be supported and encouraged. I was made to feel that Rasmussen would be rooting for me through my academic journey. Instead I am bombarded with emails and calls telling me what I already know… I owe money. No calls or emails about how I can be helped to budget so that I can pay more toward the balance. I'm only being told: what I owe, to get the balance down to $500-$1000 and to take out loans; which will only put me in debt and it's too early to be taking out loans when I've been in school since September of 2021 and have 2 more years. Also this school doesn't cater to single parents, limited income and individuals that HAVE to work. This school ONLY has day classes for the nursing program and as I said before I HAVE to work full time.Sherria Clark

This morning I called the university for the North Orlando Campus for the Nursing program and spoke to the director of Nursing who was discusstingly rude on the phone. I called to get information, He had no patience and told me Not to proceed a career in Nursing because it was Not for me. This was a university that I was so excited to be a part of and be a graduate of Nursing. The director needs to be Fired because he is giving the university a bad reputation. Rasmussen has really given me a second chance at hope. I started this journey not truly believing that I could do this. Fate matched me with Nicole M as my initial advisor and I'd be lying if I said her help provided motivation and confidence to know I can do this. She was there every step of the way to guide to my next steps and would even stay on the phone with me to make sure I'd accomplish certain tasks before the deadline. I was so moved by her I persuaded my two sisters to enroll as well and she helped get them acclimated as well. I am now in the nursing program and am given a second chance at life to make something of myself and for that I am eternally grateful. My mother also is an alumni of rasmussen, so to know that I'll be abstaining my nursing degree in the very same school my mother went to is the icing on the cake. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think after three kids and a full-time job, I would be able to start school again in my 30s, and Rasmussen University, with its fantastic support team, has been there every step of the way for me through the process. I have been able to enroll in a nursing program where it's been eight months now, and I have pretty much finished all my prereqs in the convenience of my home. During the Entire process Raquel was my Admissions Advisor and she was very nice. She was able to answer any questions I had, She was very informative and was very responsive to all my emails & Calls in a timely manner. This would be a 5 star rating if it were not due to lack of staffing brought on by Physicians Regional. The care by Dr Kabbash is good. However, the very long delay in seeing her is not! Last time was an hour wait from my appointment time and this one was 1.45 hours! And I was the third patient on her list. She was very apologetic and explained they do not have the staff so she is almost doing everything herself. That physicians Regionsl are not willing to pay staff going rate so they cannot get the staff. PR must be making so much money and i usually find them in general very good. So i hope PR wake up and get the good staff they need to make it the “go to” place. Support your doctors and medical staff PR. You have the money so utilize it well. DO NOT ENROLL HERE. USF sent me to the St. Petersburg campus because the Tampa campus was “full,” despite there being off campus housing options still available. In summary, they relocated me to another campus that I did not want to go to rather than just inform me that I would not be able to have access to on-campus housing. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior that no university should ever engage in. I am utterly dissatisfied and enraged at USF for doing something this outrageous. Shame on them!CervezaCuba

USF has such a beautiful campus based on the tour that I went on. Considering the fact that I haven't applied yet, I can't speak on the financial aid and things such as that. They enroll so many students and cannot accommodate all of them. Finding parking is horrendous for commuters. Some days I can’t make my way to class because there’s no parking. Sometimes I miss breakfast because the MSC has no parking.Michael Marinelli

Firstly, I just wanted to say I got the help I needed and this isn't related to childcare. So far, my experience at this school has been great. I'm a newer student at FGCU and I was trying to find my way around campus so I walk to the nearest place I could find. Not sure of the exact name but the little eagle learning center. I was met at the door by the center's director. I didn't catch a name but she had red hair. She did help me but I felt like she was very reluctant to guide me in the right direction. You know when someone just wants to get rid of you? That's how I felt. She wasn't very welcoming and I understand it may be due to a personal issue or the fact that they might not have wanted random visitors due to COVID-19 (but I had just stood outside because she was almost blocking me from entering). That's fine but I never stepped foot into the center. But honestly, she made me feel kind of foolish for asking for help. There wasn't any need to treat me as an annoyance. The rest of my experience here has been good though.Noel

Nice school enjoyed my four years here, you’ll maybe use the beach a handful of times, it’s not that cool it’s a lake with gators, soar in 4 is a lie they only pay for your first year if you pay out of pocket, don’t use fafsa and don’t use florida prepaid or anything like that… the teachers are good some harder than others, attendance is mandatory in most classes with teacher’s having the liberty to cancel or not show up whenever, as if we, the students, don’t pay them… interesting, take lots of weird electives chances are you’ll enjoy them, the basketball team has fallen off since 2017 our baseball team and girls basketball is decent, no much of a party school so I guess it’s easy to focus on classes. Beautiful university, great professors, nice housing, good community, lots to do, lots of options for food, nature trails, lots of parking, easy to navigate, etc. Amazing university especially for environmental students. I love being a student here. Only complaint is that most of the general staff (not professors!) is rather unhelpful and difficult to work with. You constantly have to nag people and deal with incompetence just to get anything general done (housing, enrollment, fees, etc.). If you are a new student, try not to get discouraged by the incompetent staff because once you finally deal with the nonsense, the actual education and community aspects are worth it imo.Fish

Unless your parents can afford the exorbitant tuition or you have a great scholarship I would not recommend attending UM. I had some good professors and some not so good. Class sizes are fairly small which will matter for some, others not so much. People talk about the campus being beautiful but in my opinion it was nothing special. It is a fairly new school and the modern buildings lack the character of older schools established in the 1800s. In addition, the older buildings they did have are being torn down to make room for newer facilities. Weather is a plus if you don't mind the humidity or lots of rain. If you are looking for the "typical" college town experience I doubt you will find it at UM due to its location in a large metro. It seems like UM is a hot destination for prep school kids from the Northeast. The vast majority of guys that attend UM are bros. Also rich kids from around the world, especially Latin America, the Caribbean, and China. Save your money. Start off at a Community or Junior College then transfer to a public four year college or university. At the end of the day the University of Miami (like all other colleges and universities) is a business. They just want your money. They don't care about you or what happens to you after you leave. Absolutely beautiful campus! I took a tour and the campus is very post-modern. Lots of art works and installations spread throughout. There is a wonderful mall style food court. We took a look at the dorms and each person gets their own room in their floor. Amazing campus, and great people. I plan to go here after graduating high school with my AA degree to get my bachelor's in meteorology. Only problem is I will have 2 years of college under my belt before I even come here, so I'll only be on this beautiful campus for 2 years to get my bachelor's. Visited the campus twice, once for a football game, and once for a baseball game. After going to a block party before Saturday night football, I can say that Tallahassee has a great nightlife. They campus is absolutely gorgeous and we had a great tour here. The area is really nice as well. I can't complain about the weather either since I was born and raised in Florida and it beats the freezing cold. They have good academics and are well recognized, at least in my perspective and I can't see a valid reason I personally wouldn't want to go here – meaning I think it would be a great school to attend. This is a university they don't care about education they care about how much money they can make off your back. Campus is unsafe and scary environment. We've been on 3 college tours now and this school by far was the best. I took a tour with my daughter a week ago and was very impressed. The 2 tour guides we had were very knowledgeable about everything. The campus gave us that small town feel. It was also clean and very well kept up. Very impressive especially since part of it was built back in the 1920's. We also got the impression that there was a lot of school spirit and pride. The customer service is awesome! Every time I had a concern or problem about my library card, status, holds, immunization records, etc. they went out of their way to help. The secret is in calling, they either help you right away or transfer you to someone who can. They are never a disappointment. Im extremely disgusted with this school ! As a parent of a student earned her Masters did all the paper work necessary for her participation in her graduation to walk and receive her diploma because of the schools inadequate ability to process or sending any information regarding my daughter graduation…. My daughter waiting for her graduation invitations called and she was told she had not down her paperwork when my daughter showed all proof she had done Al required she was than told it was to late to graduate to do it next year! Seriously how pathetic is this school not allowing because of their negligence, stupidity, and unprofessional! My family was ready to come from out of state for my daughter graduation! I transferred to this school because I am disabled and thought the school would be more accommodating than my last. I was wrong. I brought my service dog with me to school as he’s a medical alert dog. The school is over run with aggressive dogs the students have as “ESAs” I made friends with the other service dog handler on campus and she ended up leaving the school for the semester out of fear for her service dog. I stayed and made multiple safety reports, emails, and complaints to the schools disability department. They did absolutely nothing and said “we can’t remove any of the aggressive animals because it would be like getting rid of every kid that gets in a fight” which is not safe at all and a threat to not only the service animals but the students as well. I quickly realized they were never going to do anything to fix the issue. My dog had been attacked 5 times on campus and they never did anything. I have since left the school to pursue a dog trainer career. If you are disabled and have an assistance animal do NOT go to this school.Sophie Lawson

Formerly known as Edison College, Florida Southwestern State College will only waste your life away. I earned two degrees from this institution thinking it'd help me land a job beyond a cashier position and it didn't do anything for me. Currently, I'm taking orders from goofy people with GEDs at my workplace (BTW, they're kids who are fifteen years younger). The only fifty thousand dollar a year jobs that have been offered to me were from pyramid schemes and scam MLM corporations. Go into the Army instead, they'll provide you with a decent career and you'll be taken care of. One other thing I may add is there's constant unnecessary construction on this campus because the administration rather waste its money on that instead of job-placement programs that would be beneficial for the students. * This college's main goal is to keep the student as a student for as long as possible. What I mean by this is that they will force you to take remedial courses, even though you don't need to take them. So when you finally receive your degree, your skills and education will be outdated thus putting you in the situation of returning to college–they make more money. Then the next situation turns out that you're already too old and unemployable and the next generation has taken over, working and prospering.Michal Mack

I'm thankful we have a local college that continues to make itself better with each year. I'm receiving my AA in 3 credits and I have nothing but outstanding things to say about this school. My advisor has always been incredibly attentive to my needs, even down to offering book recommendations within my future major. I never feel rushed or unwanted. I called to ask a single question and the lady was very rude stating “ We don’t do that here” and hung up on me before I could say another word. As a customer, if this kind of behaviour isn’t corrected you could very well lose a lot of business. She is supposed to be the customers first impression of the company and show the hospitality of the service you are trying to provide. Though I may have need something the company couldn’t provide I could very well decide to participate in a this program instead. However now, I feel that it would be a waste and mistake to conduct business with this company based on the curt behaviour of the lady receptionist. I was doing the test fine, parked in the cones and then went to shift in reverse. The button for the shifter is placed differently than in my car so of course I had difficulty with it, rudely she asked "Do you even know how to drive" and she tried explaining I had to press the brakes to shift, I DID! Then we went on the neighbourhood roads and I was doing fine, until I was doing 25, saw a sign that said 30, went 30 mph and she said i was speeding. Called to schedule appointment the lady on the phone sounded like she was moving things around the whole conversation focusing more on whatever she was doing and end up hanging up on me. I called back and she was rude and short but confirmed she scheduled appointment for our oldest to take the test on 12/29. 12/29 we show up for the test to find the doors locked and nobody there. Called the number and the lady on the phone was pretty much we closed and on vacation so you are out of luck and we care less that we just ruined your child's most important birthday. I wish I could give a million stars!!!! Dr. Aenlle is AMAZING!!! The staff at her Ft Myers location is AMAZING!! So I'm positive her Naples location is AMAZING too!!! She is so kind and compassionate. I have a Workman Comp case and while 2 other Dr's made me feel like an inconvenience, she made me feel my concerns and pain were her top priority and they were!! I wasn't just another number to her and the wonderful staff. She listened and assured me she would get to the bottom of my injury and I know she will. I love Dr Lisa Aenlle, It was very hard for me to find a neurologist when I moved to Florida. I was very close to my neurologist in Montana as he had taken my through my first stroke and recovery. When I met Dr Lisa she was so kind and understanding. She has gone above and behind for me to help me manage my migraines and problems with neuropathy. I would highly recommend her. Her office and staff can sometimes be a little disorganized at times but they are helpful people and I accept that she sometimes runs late because I know she has gone above to put me first when I was in trouble.Robin Greenwood
