I work here as staff and find the working environment pretty good. My bosses have been good, my coworkers are dependable, and the students seem well behaved and conscientious (most of the time). The new buildings are nice, and the harbor walk is kind of amazing, and the beach is very chill. Good luck finding a place as tranquil anywhere else near the city. There is however one small con and one big con.. the small con is that there aren't that many places to eat and Sodexo runs all the food on campus, and their attempts at ethnic foods are sad. And the aforementioned big con is that there is no less than 3 buildings being built on this tight peninsula right now, and one huge building that was taken down over the year I've been here.. the construction is a mess. Though the new, finished buildings, like the science complex, are great. But if you can take the T somehow, as I do, this place is fantastic.Mikhail M. Nitko

UMASS Boston has a Beautiful campus on the waterfront! It is building two Brand new buildings as student housing with a dinning hall on the first floor, overlooking the Boston harbor with a million dollar view. UMASS Boston has a collaborative research program with Dana Farber Cancer Institute that students can be a part of. I love the new Integrated science center, incubating many New exciting NIH sponsored science research studies. It is an exciting time for UMASS Boston which has a new chancellor with generous scholarship. Chancellor merit scholarship will allow students to get world class education for free.Khuong Nguyen

I am a student here at UMB, the professors are great. The administration is bureaucratic and inefficient and lacks transparency on any basic level. Parking here is dependent upon arrival time. If you get here at 10:20 good luck finding a space in bayside, probably will have to park at the globe. Clinical placement sites for Nursing are good, labs are good, the school is constantly under construction and areas are always being blocked off. Parking will soon cost between 9-15 dollars a day according to emails from the uni. So it’s alright but the university is slowly draining the life of its commuters.Bill Whitney

Harvard is one of the most prestigious universities in the World and every one wishes to visit it once in a life time. I had this chance to go there and walk around this beautiful institute. The good thing is that it is open for all and everyone could go around and visit. I saw many tourists there enjoying walking and taking photos. The good thing which I liked was that seeing people doing Yoga in the open space and in nature. I liked that and participated with them in yoga. It was nice walking around Harvard university . I would recommend either taking a guided tour or to download and follow the self guided tour so you understand the history behind the university. I loved the library and the story behind it. Unfortunately wasn’t able to go inside but would have loved to. Great place and one of the oldest & finest universities in the world. This is a dream place for some students. This institute is very inspiring and admiring. The Widener library is well established. I have to be honest about this. Good college when it comes to campus design, some Professor's teaching skills, and assistance for school related issues. Although, the school teaches bad ethics. For example, sports lack discipline. They will teach there athletes to run score boards up. Up by 20 in a basketball game with 3mins to go, they will shoot more three point shots than Steve Kerr. The most alarming thing is faculty will participate in Hazing students. I've watch this with my own two eyes. Call them out on it, and they will just deny it, at least my professor did. I am currently a student there, who help form a club, in order to help students get there basic needs to become a successful student. So just remember, good campus design, some Professors have good teaching styles, good for resources, but terrible place to learn good ethics. To me learning good ethics and applying them is one of the most important, or the most important thing to learn as a student. Would not be the first school I would want to send my child to. I learned a lot, got tons of experiences, got so many American and International friends, exchanged culture and collected precious moments in this place. I really miss the college, my friends, the clubs, the library, single stop, the cafeteria and most importantly I miss my coordinator when I was in a scholarship Program and of course I really miss the professors. I do recommend this college as an affordable and easy starting point but be ready to encounter many hurdles in your way and a lot of incompetent staff. Make sure to double check everything you do here, especially the financial aid part. The professors are nice but it’s on you to actually learn the material, the professors rarely will make sure you learned anything. It’s a 3 star college. Great diversity of people, BUT absolutely no political diversity, if you’re a radical leftist, you’ll love this college.Roberto R

It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review but I am in hopes of MCPHS revising their admissions process for the Physician Assistant Program. I know that I was not the only student this year that was invited to interview and then closed out of an interview spot and placed on a waiting list. When I contacted MCPHS they told me that I may not get to interview after all as they had accidentally invited too many people to interview and did not have the resources to open up more interview dates even though acceptances are not on a rolling basis. How does a top tier medical university not have the resources to interview all the students they invited? By choosing to interview solely the people that happened to secure spots first, not only are they limiting the potential of their incoming class and proving that they only care about filling the spots for monetary reasons, but they are limiting the future of numerous successful students who worked hard to get an interview invitation. When I asked Jordan Hunt (admissions counselor) to make sense of this she was unable to provide a competent answer besides that the university messed up and the incoming students are the ones facing the repercussions. I’m not writing this for myself, but for the other students who were too timid to speak up or who had chosen this school as their top choice and then got screwed. I truly feel bad for some of the other incoming students who do not have other options and were relying on MCPHS. I am very disappointed. MCPHS either needs to change their interviewing process to rolling acceptances (interviewing the top tier students first and then going down the line) or they need to use this model but be willing to open up more dates in case of overflow. Side note: They informed me that students on the waiting list could be notified up to a day before an interview that a spot had opened up. Do they not take into consideration that everyone doesn’t live near Boston or works full-time? Extremely dissatisfied with this supposedly “top tier” medical college.Maddy Frank

Hey guys, good for all the students giving great remarks. I don't know if the school has paid you. I must say i was in the nursing program , ( the set that started 2005) the teachers were very bad. Everything was very difficult, out of 50 students that got into the nursing program only 15 students or even less that graduated from the program. Judy Murphy was very racist, no room for improvement. It was a very bad school. I will recommend another school any day any time as matter off fact the school needs to refund money back to students that paid for tuition. All they care about is your money and not the students. It was a very traumatic experience. It was one of the worst decision i have ever made in life to attend that college. I Owe up to 100,000 in debt with no nursing degree to show for. I thank the Almighty God i got my degree from another school with no stress or frustration. Guys open your eyes and look for another school. I just finished my second-year in PharmD program in MCPHS. I’m gonna transfer to Worcester to study the accelerated program. I have had great time in MCPHS so far. All professors are very nice and friendly. I haven’t met any professor who’s not willing to help student wholeheartedly. They always have office hours to answer students’ inquiries and to clarify the lecture in case the students don’t understand. There are absolutely no discrimination in MCPHS. It’s all about respect. Every MCP student is very welcoming so we have a very close-knit community in MCP. The program is well-designed and bearable. Sometime I feel overwhelmed but it’s not impossible to pass as many people say. You just need to put time and effort and you’ll be fine. In short, MCPHS is a great university for those who seriously pursuit a professional career in pharmacy and health sciences.Bill Nguyen

If you don't want to leave High School then Lasell is the right place for you. Lasell is just another High School, there are tons of cliques and they are all judgmental and rude, some racist. If you are thinking about going here please read this review and consider it. There will be a Facebook group made for your graduating class. This page is supposed to help you find others going to the college and helps you make friends. However, for me and my very few friends I met there agree that the Facebook group is the worst thing to have ever been created. I went to orientation nervous as hell but in the back of my mind I thought that everyone was nervous because no one knows each other. And then I got to orientation and everyone already had their friends and I was alone. That was the worst weekend of my life. No one talked to me and every time I tried to talk to others, they would look at each other and walk away as if I had a disease. After that weekend I learned about the Facebook group… Then September came and I tried to be open-minded but that didn't last too long. The house I was in was basically a Sorority and I don't remember pledging. There were so many problems just because they would listen to my roommates and I through our closet. We know this because there are things they couldn't possibly know without listening to us. The kids there are also racist. A friend of mine had keys thrown at her while being called "Porcelain doll" by her RA. As for my RA, my roommate had severe alcohol poisoning and knocked on our RA's door for help, but instead our RA turned her music up and didn't answer. A couple weeks later we heard that our RA was talking highly of never answering her door. The school also does not take mental illness seriously. I had gone to multiply professors and explained to them about my depression and anxiety and all they had to say was, "I feel bad" and then they would brush it off. The academics suck as well. Unless you're a fashion or athletic training major then all other majors are not taken seriously. You won't actually get to your major until maybe Junior year. They lie at orientation saying you jump right into your major, because you don't. This school wasted my time and my money. I never thought I could get any worse then I have after being there. My depression had gotten worse and my self-esteem plummeted. They told me to visit the counseling house but why would do that since I hated the school? I would be careful making your decision on going to this school and make sure to look at everything.Avalon

I can't wait to tell people about my experience here at Lasell College once I graduate! It has been an honor to meet everyone here on campus and get to know them on personal levels. I truly feel ready for the working world because of the classes I've taken and the professors help. The dorms that I have lived in for the past four years have been fantastic! They really made me feel safe and at home here on campus. I played a sport here on campus too and that even made my experience here even more enjoyable. Traveling around the MA area is also great. We are in-between two T-stations which is a quick and easy train ride into Boston which allows for a lot of fun activities. I give this school a grading of an A because it was truly an amazing experience and I will miss it dearly when I graduate.Allyson Parabicoli

Depending on a student's individual needs, Lasell has thus far, far exceeded every expectation and concern, including non-traditional issues. Continually (almost by the week) tweaking, exploring, and honing the fine skill of higher education with today's ever changing criteria in mind. For those who want to learn, study here. If you have a vacation in mind, go somewhere else. Near perfect flexibility re, campus life, hybrid, online and intensive/accelerated courses. Great location, staff, and cost effectiveness. I attended the reunion this weekend as a husband. It was an overall pleasurable experience. The campus itself is very nice and meticulously maintained. Bathroom facilities adequate but nothing extraordinary. The BBQ on Saturday afternoon was nice because it was on campus in a very nice area. Music a bit loud for mid afternoon. Food, not great. I really liked the coozie they gave out. The class party Saturday night for the 10 year peeps was fascinating. It was inside a recreation center which seemed like an odd choice given the plethora of really nice areas on campus. The food selection there I thought was good but many in the group strongly disagreed with that sentiment. The tortellini was on point even tho it seemed to light a bit of a fire under my seat if you catch my drift. I was a little disappointed at all events that I had to pay 7$ for a bud light after already purchasing tickets. I will say we popped over to the 5 year reunion and wow, what a treat that event was. Overall it was a nice weekend, BC seemed to do my wife well as she is very smart. Her friends are also very cool. So I would recommend the college. We may send our kids there if my plan to hit the lottery multiple times comes to fruition. Mods for life.Joseph Moran

That said, this is the most beautiful campus I have ever seen in my life. It was a complete surprise and got me completely off guard. All of the buildings have the same gothic, sandstone color vibe. Worst dentist office in America. If you can avoid this place please do. You will for a fact have the worst experience in your dental life. Andy Raddich is the director and can't seem to get his staff to return phone calls or even setup appointments that are needed in order to complete your service plan. This place took my money and have yet to complete my services its been over a year. The last chair is was in there the guy forgot to give me novacain, what dentist forgets to give his patients a numbing agent. There are alot better dental schools to use. Don't be fooled by the Name Harvard, community colleges have a better dental program.Chill Hill

I had a root canal here about 2 months ago. The doctor was very informative and kind. The experience wasn't exactly enjoyable but it could have been worse and what do you expect from a route canal procedure. Anyways I had to pay our of pocket since they don't accept mass health. It was my back tooth number 2 so I had to get an endodontic procedure. The total was $493.00 and as long as my tooth will benefit and survive through this them it will be worth it. Hoping for the best but overall a good hospital. The location isnt too far from the train station. Pretty nice interior design as well.Jared Thresher

Worst experience ever. There isn't a single person that understands what an emergency dental issue is. I called emergency number on Sunday and waited til Tuesday for care and was disconnected twice over 6 phone calls trying to get seen for incredible tooth pain. I've been coming to the dental school as a patient for several years. I started because after studying in England for several years the dentists they're had done a significant amount of damage to my teeth which meant a lot of restoration work back in the U.S. it started with a root canal that had to be redone that was done on England and got infected. My insurance was all used up for the year with one root canal and crown. Then they told me that another root canal was getting infected and this one also needed surgery, but my dental insurance was used up for the year and it would be months before the end of the year. But it was starting to hurt so this couldn't wait for months. Since I wouldn't be able to afford it without insurance, someone told me that it is much cheaper as a patient at the dental school at Tufts. I arranged for an appointment and became a patient and have been one for years. Due to it being a dental school, the appointments take a lot longer and are booked for 3 hour time slots (most times it may take less than that, sometimes though, it may need a little longer). Everything is double checked by a professor every step the way so no mistakes are ever made. Also being students they tend to be very cautious not to hurt you, whereas experienced dentists don't really care about your discomfort and just want to get the job finished. With a good dentist that can be a good thing as they will finish berry fast and not hurt you at all, but some dentists are not very good. This had never been an issue here. Every couple of years the student that I was assigned to graduates do a new student has to be assigned. The appointments might take longer, but the price even if they don't take your insurance can't be beat. If they do take your insurance, I would definitely use them. I am currently a student at this institute. They are extremely unorganized. This administration is absolutely worthless. They try to have the students waste time as much as possible on things that are irrelevant to education so that the students simply do not have enough time to study. The school makes approximately $30M per semester and they do not reinvest that money into the program. They will take your money in the 1st semester and have you take out a tremendous loan. They pay to get high ratings. The most hilarious thing about this program is this. They charge $30K per semester, however if you work for them as a student, you only get minimum wage. MGH Hospital does not give this institute any special treatment. It is only in the name. U-Mass Boston is actually the program with which MGH Hospital has a relationship. The primary concern I have is with the administration of this institute. I simply do not understand why it is so unnecessarily worthless. They will waste your time and your money. The degree will cost you 2x of whatever you have been quoted. Be prepared for that.Sales Crypt

I found the quality of this institution to be beyond excellent! The professors are not only experts in their field but they are also very prominent and well known in international circles. I am in the PhD program in Health Professions Education and have had the most amazing experience. My advisor has devoted herself to my success and continues to do so, connecting me with prominent scholars and professionals and helping me to think forward and plan my next steps after graduation. I drive 6 hours to see Dr Chodosh. He has always been very professional as well as empathetic-addressing all of my questions completely and making recommendations for follow up back home-sending his notes from the visit to the doctors involved where I live. He is sincere when he offers to be available to you in between appointments if you have questions or concerns. Dr Chodosh pays attention to the details of your case-familiarizing himself each time with your history. Disclosure—I am an ophthalmologist in Nashville TN and trained at Harvard. I wanted to write this review because Dr. Chodosh saved my eyesight when I had a corneal ulcer in my left eye. He is a brilliant cornea specialist. My husband (also an ophthalmologist), and I have sent many friends, family members, colleagues, and patients with difficult eye problems to see him. Dr. Chodosh is a brilliant physician. I had a severe eye infection two years ago that two experts – one in Massachusetts and one in Pennsylvania – were unable to explain or treat effectively. I then saw Dr. Chodosh who quite literally saved my eye. I believe I saw him four days in a row at one point. I will never be able to express my gratitude – although I try! One of the world renowned universities, MIT is a must visit place for visitors in Boston. It is just a bridge away from Boston Back Bay – Prudential Center area. Massachusetts Ave runs through the campus and divides into two areas. The stadium is on the west side with older buildings. On the other side is Information Center and newly constructed buildings, halls that host research labs, departments. MIT Museum, temporarily closed, is at Massachusetts Ave and Village St is also a must visit.qlv assoc

Very hard to find parking place. My suggestion is to take public transportation. Also the buildings around the dome are connected each other so it is hard for you to the court in front of the dome unless you have friends who can allow you to enter into the building. The best place to park your car is along the Charles river, not alone with the highway 2A.John Z

If you're coming in as a high school student or transfer, good luck. If you're looking to know exactly what classes you should be taking, than orientation is rather uninformative. They do not print out the list of classes from their online website, I tried to find it ahead of time but the page was broken so I couldn't print it myself. They just speak out loud of general classes and hope you magically find your way from there on their iSiS program. It's like calling a help center, clicking various buttons and still getting that female robot voice every time, not a real person with the answer you need. I also had questions about my health insurance that even the woman who works with student's health insurance couldn't answer! Did I learn things during orientation? Of course! Like first and foremost, how to pay bills online. Also, how to set up texts for emergency reports, about their sports/social/volunteer programs, where to go and who to call. Those are the basics, most couldn't answer the specific questions I had. The ones they didn't think about ahead of time so they could help me. The only person who answered all of my questions was the Chair of the department, before I even asked. I asked a dozen people before I directly contacted the Chair. If you have questions about your classes just talk to the Chair of (your major) department, because everyone else there doesn't have a clue.Kirsten Rae

The student advising needs a lot of improvement. I had three separate advisers over three years, never met one of them. Otherwise this is a great school; great location, accessible, and state-of-the-art facilities/technology. As for academics I felt that I absolutely benefited, from my professors, in fact i found that the quality of learning I had from some adjunct professors was equal to if not better than some of the full-time faculty. Seemingly limitless resources, UMASS Lowell is a diverse, up and coming school in the North East and is constantly growing in excellence. There's opportunity for everyone at this school should they be willing to seek it. I'm proud to say i was a part of it. And i hear the Hockey team is alright also.Thomas Cheviot

This school is incredible one of my family went here absolutely excellent experience. Honestly better than any school either of us have ever dealt with. There were definitely issues here there but for the first time they were actually dealt with head-on and directly. The school really cares about maintaining it's quality and the experience for students. it's rare to see such a dry for change and growth at the school and you wouldn't expect to find in Lowell but it is well worth attending.Joseph
