20 Best Mph Programs In Akron, OH (2022 Updated)

Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I absolutely have no regrets about this school, and I enjoyed my time there.Kevin Frazier

I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. Stark State also always keeps their students in the know through text message and emails. They give you the tools you need in order to succeed. Highly recommend this college!elisabeth brian

I pay thousands for my child to live in a glorified closet with a bunch of strangers (living in the dorms is required of course) and then I find out that there is basically no laundry here. The dryers don’t work. We’ve made complaints, my daughter has submitted maintenance requests, and still nothing. The best they can do is put an out of order sign on the machines and call the problem fixed. Apparently they occasionally remove the signs despite nothing being fixed. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is to leave your clothes in the dryer for an hour only to come back to a soggy pile of clothes. If it’s the dryer company to blame, then get a new company, but until then I would consider finding a loophole to live off campus or go somewhere else.Regina Pycroft

Great campus with many great programs! I have multiple friends who go here and they all seem like they are excelling compared to myself! Their aviation program seems like it is one of the best around and have multiple friends going here for that reason! I have also heard very good things about the education majors. The campus is very safe and really well laid out. The buildings look very modern! Downtown has very nice places to eat, hang out, shop, and party! The wifi is a tad slow and I'm not sure why, but it is livable. The weather is very cold in the winter because of wind and the landscape being so flat, but they do have public transportation to get to classes and other buildings/ places.Collin “A1C Sherwood” Sherwood

Sunday after Christmas took a nostalgic campus tour. It was great, no one was around and I could just stroll about. Started counting new buildings, that have appeared since my days on campus and decided it was easier to count the one that I knew, that were still there. Even my old dorm was gone! South Hall, my speech and theatre homebase was renamed. But get this, the Bursar's building was gone too, if they would have asked I would have helped tear that one down. The advancements in technology and convenience that have amassed since I graduate in 1985 really changed the place. Proud to be a Falcon!!!!!!!!Ed McMasters

I am an alumni. B.S. Chemical Engineering 2008, M.S. Biomedical Engineering 2012. I chose CSU as my undergrad school over Case Western because Case is ridiculously expensive and I received a full scholarship to CSU. My mother told me I could choose whatever school I wanted but if I passed the scholarship up for 40k+ a year in debt she would kill me. Thanks mom, you were right as always! The Chemical and Biomedical Engineering departments are outstanding. Great faculty, small class sizes, professors that legitimately care about the students but also won't put up with BS from students that aren't taking their own (or their classmates') education seriously. The head of the BME department at the time had a major impact on my life. He personally took interest in helping me get a full scholarship during the second year of my M.S. (Choose Ohio First scholarship), helped me land a Teaching Assistant position AND a fantastic internship. THANK YOU! CSU is not perfect though. I had some bad professors (and also excellent ones) in the math and physics departments. That is hard to avoid at any school. Many of the school departments are much, much bigger than mine so you may lose some of the personal interest from professors when your graduating undergrad class is more than 12 like mine. I tried to make use of the career center multiple times but they were not helpful in job searching. Also the Fenn College of Engineering (now the Washkewicz College of Engineering) building is woefully old and dated. It's so bad that in my second year in 2006 a metal fence had to be put about 10 – 15 feet in front of the building facade so no one would be injured by the crumbling concrete. I wish I was joking. The engineering labs were also filled with old equipment, the classrooms were missing technology that is standard in other schools like projectors. Note that this was all before the very generous donation from Mr. Washkewicz so I hope things have improved. The only other complaint I have is that my graduation requirements changed a couple times during my B.S. and I had a VERY difficult time finding out if I was on track for graduation. In fact I wasn't sure that I was going to graduate until I got confirmation about a month before graduation! Even with these complaints I had a great experience at CSU, which is why I went back for my M.S. after briefly considering Ohio State University. It was my professors and department that made the decision easy, they had a great positive effect on my life and I owe a lot to them.Jim

I'm a business student currently in my third year at CSU (transferred from Kent State) and have nothing but good things to say about this school. The campus is beautiful and right in the center of Downtown, giving you easy access to tons of interesting things to do in Cleveland. The general vibe of the campus is very laid back and friendly, and despite what other reviews seem to say, this is a very liberal/progressive and diverse school with many students of all walks of life. I feel I have received a perfectly adequate education at CSU, as someone who cares mainly about getting ready for a career and moving into the business world. There are good professors and bad ones, but the majority of them have been very likeable and knowledgeable. Many of my business professors have lots of real world experience and many years working in their field. I cannot comment on the other departments, but the business school is excellent and has many career services available to students. As a commuter student I love the RTA pass they provide, so I don't have to worry about driving and parking downtown (yes, their parking situation is pretty terrible here). Finally I'd like to say shame on the idiots who are giving my school 1-star reviews because of a faux pas made by the administration. The first amendment comment was misinformed, but it's far from supporting the offensive poster. Anyone trying to paint CSU as anti-LGBTQ because of that poster debacle is ignorant.Steven Barnes

I love Cleveland State. I am a biology pre-med major and the department is great. However, if you live in the dorms, don't plan on getting your mail anytime soon. It takes at least 10 days added on to the normal mail time to receive any type of letter or package. I ended up just getting a P.O. box at a local post office. The education and clubs are great. There are so many great opportunities here to take advantage of. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to live in the city and get a great education.Madison Chapanar

We enjoyed are visit, found Lake Erie College and the community wonderful. So good in fact my son has decided to matriculate at Lake Erie College. The students we met, along with the faculty and football coaches were all first class, Tyler is going to be a Freshman in the Fall of 2015 and play football for "The Storm", he is signing his confirmation on signing day 2/14/2015. It's a good feeling when your all in on a decision no second guessing. We both were sold on the school, the community of Panesville, OH and most importantly the many people we met, who were all first class. Go Storm !!!!!!!!Dafirestar

BW provides a well rounded education. With that being said, your program of study will most likely consist of general education courses. BW degree programs usually do not provide a focused study on your major. Instead, the focus is liberal arts. I attended BW for a short time and majored in Criminal Justice. During that time I discovered that most of the classes for my major had little to nothing to do with Criminal Justice. They were mostly liberal arts courses. This is true of many other degree programs. No matter what your major, you will only take a few classes that are actually relevant to your major. In summary, if you enjoy a small campus atmosphere, if you are satisfied with a degree that does not provide a focused study on your major, if you want some prestige on your degree, and if you are willing to spend $900 per credit, then Baldwin Wallace is certainly the place for you.Tracer Films

It's a good school and the campus is really nice. Best thing is probably the professors. I loved 95% of my professors. Worst part of the school is the surrounding area. My daughter went to BW and we couldn't have asked for a better college. You are not just a number, the staff is very helpful and caring. Sent an email over a week ago to patient services/advocate about a pretty big concern and have heard absolutely nothing from Patient Services or the Department that the concern is related to. Definitely feel like the hospital is not looking out for the best interest of my son. "we care for every child that comes through our doors…." Technically true but funny a department has refused to care for my son due to his special needs….hmm….goes against the reported motto of the hospital. I generally do not like to leave public reviews for places but maybe I can get a response this way. No other way has worked. Edited September 1, 2022 to add: I have thought long and hard how to edit this review and after a night of no sleeping thinking about this, I am at the conclusion that I will never forgive or forget the lack of care and disrespect this hospital has shown my special needs son. After a few interactions that were meant to pacify me after I left the original view, I have had no further contact with the hospital regarding how to handle this situation. Furthermore, months ago I requested a hospital administrator to reach out to me and they never did. I find it highly disrespectful and maddening that the hospital can talk about my son and me but they fail to actually talk to me about the situation. As a parent and former employee, I am so upset about the lack of care, respect and regard that my son has gotten from this hospital. All children and especially those with special needs require extra care and support. Again, while the hospital thinks that they did nothing wrong and there is nothing I can do about it, I will never, ever forget this. Nor will I forgive. So to anyone that reads this—especially parents of special needs children—be aware that your child may get too old or “too hard” to be taken care by an organization that mission statement says the complete opposite. Let me begin by saying that Akron Children's Hospital is great! They have great staff and are always very thorough as far as questions and concerns go. But there medical billing is terrible!!! The staff is super rude and doesn't work with you at all on a reasonable payment plan. I have great credit but I also am paying on a ton of other bills, so I told them how much I can afford to pay and they said that's not good enough. They want more or they are going to send me to collections and ruin my credit. Lovely people I tell you what. I suggest akron childrens hires different staff for the billing department, I understand that's their policies and that's what they have to go by, but the billing staff does not need to be so rude about it! Also I tried calling them to negotiate my bill and pay it in full. My mom was going to help me with the payment. But they wouldn't even talk to my mom, even though I gave them a verbal consent to talk to her. And again the lady was very rude that I spoke to. I work in medical billing myself and we will except 5 dollars a month if that's all the patient/guarantor can afford! I feel like thats how it should be everywhere. I don't know if Akron Children's Hospital thinks that because they have great staff that actually work for the hospital that they can take advantage of you in the billing department. But I don't really think that's fair to the customers and that's terrible customer service. The only reason I am going to continue to take my daughter there is because I want what is best for her, and the hospital staff is amazing. **We've always had the best care from medical staff at ACH. Our complaint digs deep into the issues with the financial counseling and billing department and the governing board. We've had a fair number of medical bills. We've always, 100% of the time, paid our medical debts, and consider ourselves fortunate to only have had to deal with minor medical things. However: earlier this year I emailed Financial Counsel at Akron Children's for an estimate for an evaluation we wanted to do for our son. After a quick, fairly easy call, our estimate was $350. We decided that the cost was worth it to do this proactive eval, and got scheduled in. Weeks passed, and our bill was just under $3K. Nearly 10x what they estimated. So Akron Children's messed up. Admittedly. People in financial counseling said outright "I'd write this off now if I could". The process doesn't work that way, and any disputes go to their board. The board has denied it twice now. This is less about my unwillingness to pay and more about Akron Children's lack of transparency when we did our due diligence (I have the email which states "I want to make sure this is a test we can afford"). Expecting us to foot the bill for something they incorrectly estimated is garbage. I have been duped into a large medical bill when I took all the steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. **UPDATE: I just wanted to revisit this after a call with patient services today, we finally reached an acceptable resolution. I'm thankful to be done with this, and do hope ACH will revise their estimate processes going forward.Katie Kuceyeski

Group after group moved to the head of the vaccine line. Teachers union demanding to be first, but some don’t want the vaccine, and those who have gotten it now demand the buildings get sanitized every night. Even if we are “eligible” to be vaccinated, the county refuses to upgrade the appointment registration system so it can remain open longer than five minutes. The director keeps repeating the same old “short supply, huge demand, lots of people ahead of you” as if we don’t know. We’ve heard it again and again. 1. Who goes to Columbus to lobby for more vaccine doses? 2. When will there be a plan to vaccinate people younger than 65 and without any of the long list of additional conditions? 3. My wife is 67 years old and just got over breast cancer. I’m 64 with uncontrolled Type II diabetes. When will we get to the head of the line and stop being non-essential?Jim Eritano

This is in regards to the dental clinic.I left feeling very happy with the service I received.Both the dentist and the assistant were friendly,and made me feel like they were genuinely interested in helping solve my issue.The dentist encouraged me to save my tooth,rather than have it extracted.They don't do root canals on site,but she told me where I can have it done.After checking,based on her advice,I may be able to get a root canal done for free.She put a temporary bonding agent on the tooth to stop the sensitivity.I was charged,based on my income,only $25.00,for an exam,x-ray,and the bonding agent.David R. Great Job SCPH ! I operate a Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facility. CVS and CDC communication fell apart and were not able to COVID 19 vaccinate my facility. I called Ericka Sobelewski DO Medical Director on her cell and she was at my facility 4 days later inoculating staff and residents. Response was great most appreciated. My only college education is passing a semester of English in community college. I like to visit college campuses when I am in different cities. When I was walking the campus a nice young lad riding an electric scooter stopped me and asked "Hey where is the library?". I was extremely flattered by this. He assumed 1 I looked young enough to be a college student walking to my next lecture. 2 that I was smart enough to attend this university (sadly my grades in high school are way below the requirements to attend this university). My pride was fulfilled. Sadly for him I informed him that I did not know where the library was as I was not a student. Also the grounds keeping staff does a top notch job.Jake P

I had an incredible experience at The Ohio State University. There is a lot of stuff to do here; you can never get bored with all the fun events on campus. The campus is always very lively and fun. OSU got plenty of libraries with a big book stack, so you never need to worry about study space. OSU have all the recourse that a student can think of; they also have fun clubs and societies so you can join them according to your interest. The campus bus service is also excellent, so there are no worries about transportation around the campus. The recreational center at OSU is one of the biggest in the whole country. And how can one miss the Shoe the best football stadium.TUSHAR GARG

The university has a broad spectrum of offerings that should appeal to the masses. The campus is well laid out and there is plenty of room for parking and walking around campus with ease. Whether you are a serious student or still trying to figure out life, you should be able to find quality friends and a quality education here. The real question is do you want it? Life is ticking, TikTok better get busy! The student union has a lot to offer there is plenty of places to study, to get your banking done, to get administrative work done, and meet up with your friends casually. I'M a parent of a freshman. Let start off this school has NO good communication. I thought once you get email aleast response in 24-48hr. NEVER do they return emails! I Understand your busy. But anyway I have call and email them since 7/18/2022 for cash management, Financial Aid. I put in aleast 6 ticket for someone to contact me. We'll it is Aug.13th 2022. Nope no contact. So on August 8th I email her counselor, dorm manager and dean of student to let them know she was hospital. She will not be on campus that week. Again no answer! Finally Dean of student state get better and they can delay me coming to campus and classes. Reach back outto see whatbis the best option. No respond and school start on Monday Aug. 15th I had to laught because after all the email and calling I did. I received an email saying they didn't see her on campus and will check the room today and Sunday for her. ANY WAY THERE POLICY STATE TO CALL IN IF there emergency for hospital, death and Illness. So I reach back out to see if there any online classes until she was able to come to campus. NOPE no answer. But she has clearance by school. Then the bookstore stated one book want be in trying contact them phone and email no answers!. Once u call there one stop shop. They do not have no answers and have attitude cause u asking questions and always creating a ticket I have 6 ticket in and no never call back. It so sad u can even reach your counselor. The student account wasn't correct to make payments arranage I was advise by ApClerk to go in and update the amount.I can't do that. Really. I call Net and told her and also.read the email to her she state central don't even wanting them changing there information and she stated to me this is embarrassing. Finally got a manager she updated info and finally got clearance. This has been a rough ride with Central State. Horrible experienceangela tynes

This school was really cruel to me , they never reply emails , as an international applicant who wanted to attend this hbcu , it was a horrible experience with the office of admissions, I initially applied around April 2022 , after talking with an officer of admissions and sending my required documents around may 5 2022. I didn’t get any update nor reply , I emailed and emailed and emailed , I called and called , nothing , it was around June 30 I got an email and was asked to submit something I initially submitted , and I was supposed to resume august 2022 (fall semester) . Do you know that since June 30 till now , I haven’t gotten any email , I checked my application status in the website and I saw that my application had expired . I couldn’t believe it , i really love this school , but please they need to fix their admission team , I don’t even know how to put it , I was really glad when I saw reviews that were alike with what I was going through from this school . Applied through the union benefit in January. JANUARY. I still have not been reached out to to register, communication has been horrible and all my emails and calls go unanswered. Truly the most baffling college admission experience ever. I apply, it takes weeks to be updated as to my transcript evaluation. I replied to an email I received that had 4 people cc'd on it. NO ONE ANSWERS ME BACK. I wait 3 more months for an acceptance email that tells me how to set up my student email so I can finally get started. MY STUDENT EMAIL DOESN'T EXIST. I reach out to 3 different emails and don't get a reply until 2 weeks later that just responded with another question that since April 13th hasn't been replied to. It is now June. JUNE. I have received no further communication, no one has told me anything, and I have never been so ignored when trying to apply to a school. I am absolutely in LOVE with this college. Remember, college is what you make it to be. Haters often don't like Kent because they were the ones that went home every weekend and changed their major 15 times. Pros: Kent has A TON of clubs, organizations, volunteer opportunities, etc to get you to involved. I've liked almost all my professors, and they really go out of their way to make sure YOU achieve. The library, rec center, and dining halls are all really good and updated. A lot of lecture halls are updated also. The campus has pretty much everything you will ever need including: Free transportation to surrounding cities, laundry mats, free rec center, free sporting events, free desktop computers in almost every building, cheap printing, markets with food you can buy with your meal plan, and SO much more. I just have loved my experience here. Cons: The food does get boring after about 2 months of eating it (Even with 24 different dining locations), you can't use your meal plan downtown, the rec center is a little bit of a walk, the football stadium is pretty much inaccessible without bus/car transportation, our current President (Lester Lefton) is no good (Getting a very promising new President in July!), a lot of people go home on the weekend, and it gets really cold up here. But, these are things that come with pretty much any campus you do decide to go to. There ARE going to be things you don't like with any campus. I graduated from Kent 2 years ago and it was the best 4 years of my life. I had amazing professors who helped me obtain internships which is why I was able to find a job right after graduation. The bottom line is college is work, if you don't put in the effort or slack then yea you might not graduate on time. Some of these bad reviews are ridiculous. Its not Kent states fault you wont graduate on time and dealing with loans is always stressful. Going to Kent was the best decision and I made life long friends. Aside from the beautiful campus, this place allows you to make what you want of your experience. It is flexible for commuting students (besides the occasional parking headache), provides plenty to do for those living on campus, and employs quality staff and faculty. It is a research institution that is doing incredible things and is providing amazing opportunities for all walks of life in the Kent community, northeast Ohio region, the nation, as well as globally. Attended Ohio U. from '81 to '85, then '96 & '97. Daughter is attending in 2020 – 2024. Campus is beautiful! University is big enough to offer everything, yet small enough to not "turn students into numbers". So many profs were awesome and clearly loved to teach, and the university supported the different schools within it with so many resources. In the communications program, Ohio U. has WOUB AM/FM/TV.. which is one of the BEST NPR/PBS facilities in the nation.. and the Communications program consistently ranks in the top 5! Grads from the school include CEO's of major communications companies from Nexstar to Paramount. The Journalism program has former students from local stations to network correspondents. The Theater program produced actors we know and have seen in films and on stage all over the world. Going to Ohio U. is far more than a classroom education.. but a life experience! The classroom is about 70% of the education, but 30% is living in Athens and the friendships/relationships made as a "Bobcat"! Ohio U. and Athens became and always will be my second home. I've lived all over the U.S. (and in Spain), and only my childhood hometown and Athens have truly felt like "coming home" when I return.Dan Slentz

It's somewhat secluded with no other major cities around, but there's so much to do on campus that there really isn't a need to travel too far from campus. Class of 2014 here. I thoroughly enjoyed my four years at UA. I was a short-distance commuter student from Highland Square, but still got a totally “normal” college experience. I had a good group of friends, a solid professional network (to this day), helpful professors, and attended a lot of fun campus events/parties/athletics. For an urban area, the campus is gorgeous and the facilities are relatively new (union, football stadium, wellness center etc.). I graduated on a Saturday and started a high paying job in my field that next Monday. Does it get much better than that? Not if you’re like most of us and going to school to get a job. If that is my measure of my time at Akron, then it was perfect. It was only after graduating that I realized how much my program was recognized nationally for its quality and outcomes. My only complaints were the weather and city; two things of which UA has no control over. The city of Akron is objectively not that nice of the place (look up those reviews), nor is it an easy area to start a good career. Most of the city is dilapidated, low socioeconomic status, dangerous, trashy, heroin-ridden, and lacking opportunity. I was not from Akron, so this was a bit depressing for me. If you’re from NEOH, you’re probably used to this and it won’t effect you. That said, UA is a diamond in the rough in this town. I am male, but I never felt unsafe on the actual campus. Everything around campus is a different story. Be diligent anywhere south of Exchange St. A lot of negative reviews I see on here are from people who needed more hand-holding through the admissions and financial aid processes. NEWS FLASH: Financial aid sucks at every university in the US. It is a federal program and the process is the same everywhere you go. Most financial aid coordinators are paid like $12-$15 an hour, and that is also universal. You need to adjust your expectations for that process or vote for different politicians. I don’t know what else to tell you. All together, I’d recommend UA to most people depending on your field. It’s certainly way better than that other school down I-76 😉 Go Zips!Trey the Son of Chad

The campus is honestly really beautiful. I went here for my undergraduate degree and am now working on campus (not employed by the university, just located in an outside agency's office here) and I couldn't be happier. There are a lot of really great professors and plenty of things that go on during the semesters on campus.Ash Corrado

Very nice campus with flowers and stuff. And there's like, cool, big signs that make the campus look very professionally made. The campus is visually appealing, and there's many clubs to join. The Student Union is like a rich neighbourhood mall.Nick

If I could leave a zero star that’d be cool. I called to get basic information. Wanted to know transferable credits of and ADN degree to BSN degree. Was told o needed to “Speak English” (mind you I’m as English and American as it gets) I asked what he meant by to speak English and he said he didn’t understand was an ADN or BSN is. There’s more polite ways to ask about something you don’t understand than to straight up tell someone “I need you to speak English for me” like sir! I need you to speak more professionally for me. Disgusted. Btw don’t press “2” option or you’ll probably be talked to like a dog too.Kyra Yates

I’m currently an attending undergrad since 2019. I’ve only had one major issue and that was my academic advisor originally slotting 18 credit hours my first semester. But I got a new academic advisor and I’ve had no other issues. All of my professors have been nice even if they were strict with teaching methods. I could even say I’d miss a few of them cause they made classes with them super fun. Their Covid-19 response was also great and their testing centers were quick and easy to attend. The campus is also really nice in the spring/summer when it’s not too hot.C. H.

As community members, we attend some of the music programs. All of the free music programs come with a 100% money-back guarantee if you don't like them. Tastes in music vary and there are different performances. Theater programs usually have a charge, comparable to some community theaters and high school theater productions. Tastes again vary and it is hard to put Star labels on these genres of offering. Facilities are functional. During COVID, masks required. Parking usually adequate.Gary Fox

Thank you all for your feedback. One issue that has been posted has been the parking issue. We have implemented some changes to help improve the parking situation. We have 1) fabricated an unnecessarily complicated scheme to defraud taxpayers of the state by using the university as a shell company for our rich trustees. 2) we tried to screw the faculty and staff of benefits and pay so they can support themselves and their families which led to a strike, 3) we have a president who is incompetent and has yet to understand the correlation between students enrolled and revenues. We (the board of trustees and president) have tarnished the illustrious reputation and have stopped actively recruiting students. Taken together, these have led to a decrease in enrollment of approximately 20%. Parking issues resolved. Edit: Some of you have reported complaints regarding some of your professors. Tied to the above issues, we have strived tirelessly and relentlessly to eliminate as many of the mobile professors as we could. Those are the professors who have maintained top notch research portfolios that contribute to the overall body of knowledge in their respective fields. While some still remain, we know they are likely actively looking for other jobs as we still can’t seem to figure out how to run a university.Joe Smith

If you need mental health services, good luck. Over 2 months on a waiting list to receive counseling so if you are having a hard time I guess deal with it. If you want to see a psychiatrist you must come in 2 hours before you will be seen and it's not even guaranteed you will be seen because they only accept 3 people a week. The nursing program is an absolute disaster. Professors are disorganized and not even fluent in the subject which they teach. You will ask them a question and they wont have the answer and/or will be rude to you for even asking. My academic advisor in my first year told me to sign up for classes I didn't even need so I completely wasted time and money because I did not figure this out until it was too late. Avoid this school at all costs, it's absolutely falling apart because the admin misused our hard earned money we put into this school expecting an education and receiving basically nothing in return. I would like to add that the staff at mental health services is wonderful and I did have some great gen. ed professors and they deserve a school that will put it's money in the right places to benefit students and staff.Meagan Kellis

This University once was cutting edge. It is a great place to start certain educational pursuits. If you are a grad student, this is a great opportunity. Undergrads? You'd get better bang for your dollar elsewhere. The financial problems of this school has negatively impacted the school's ability to grow and recruit at a competitive level. The leadership of the school – President & Board of Trustees – has been lackluster at best in the past 20 years. The result is loss of sports programs, inability to attract and retain quality student+centered professors. The school is ANTI-First Amendment with respect to all students have equal voice, freedom of thought and expression. The one major advantage Wright State University has is its proximity to auto industry, defense industry, research opportunities, space (satellite) development and well-supported (by local communities) student life.Nathan Setters

Love Case for all it offers. Amazing location, beautiful parks, botanical garden, museum and close proximity to city and all the landmarks make it well loved by all the students and parents alike. A very clean university, inside and out. The workers in the area are very respectful n' cheery to coworkers n' customers. Nothing too problematic happens in the area which is very important. Only down side is; people don't know how to drive between 3pm -7pm.Kami Woodson

I don't actually attend school there, but love walking through the campus. Grounds are beautiful & always well kept. Post-Covid watching the University come back to life is welcome.Janice Lewis
