Great school for engineering and decent for nursing. Business school will depend on your work and the professors you choose(from 1-4 ⭐️). The support sucks. Try calling financial aid or student accounts and you know how living in purgatory feels like. One hour of waiting on the line is typical and if you wanna use the outdated mymav website to get help without calling them, good luck 😉 The number in the picture below belongs to student accounts department who will drop you from all your classes when u owe money so you need speed dealing with them. I suggest you’ll go there physically even if you’re infected with Covid19 as you have a better chance of reaching them in person. And the pictures following the call are from when i went to student accounts in person and the line for service goes into a second building. If I could give this university a zero star, I would do it. As an international student, I have millions of terrible experiences with this university. The graduate school and the international students office have been really really rude. They will try to frustrate you using any way they could. Also, the insurance requirement for international students have been so unfair. They will charge you lots lots of money for the insurance for the summer time even though you are not enrolled in any classes during the summer. Also, the staff working in the graduate school have been so rude and know very little. Some of the graduate and undergraduate classes have been so meaningless and do not worth the money.yaqing cao

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. Somethings have not changed at all about this wonderful for school even after 18 years. Despite being reminded of how old I’ve gotten, I was first introduced to the school back in 2000 when I was being recruited to play soccer here and everything about the school and the people that work there were just amazing, genuine and friendly. Now I’m trying to do work with career and job fairs and the people that are working there are still extremely kind and helpful. I’ve spoken to several universities and colleges today and in this past week and I had one person that went out of their way to Dallas Baptist University just answer a bunch of questions for me and help me out and point me in the right direction. The difference is that she spent more time doing it and was patient and did not look at it as if it was a hassle or obligation and even helped find me some additional ways to get back onto the campus. I’ve had a lot of friends and family members graduate from that school including recent family members and I have a cousin that is about to attend that school and I could not be happier that they are going to a place with such a great faculty and staff along with a beautiful campus. I recommend if you have any questions about career fairs, job fairs, student services, or general questions at all you call and speak to Akita Cook. She was so patient and helpful and stayed on the line with me longer than all the other colleges I’ve spoken with combined. I hope that she is given recognition for this as this is a lost attribute at most schools now with everything being automated for students, employers, and others who find it difficult to even reach someone much less have the excellent service from this employee of this great university. Thank you Miss Cook for going out of your way and lastly, if she cannot help you, she will transfer you and find the person/department that can help you.Kevin Inman

I attended DBU from 2010-2014 and graduated with a B.B.A in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. The only regret I have is not choosing to do the fast track program where you can get your Bachelor's and Master's in 5 years. My time at DBU completely changed my life for the better. The professors there are amazing and genuinely care about their students. I still remain friends with some of my professors to this day. The atmosphere in general is really uplifting and so positive. I was in a sorority during my time at DBU and fostered many friendships, some of them lifelong. If I could go back and do it all over again I would. I also participated in the Discipleship Program (highly recommended) for two years and had the most amazing mentor who completely changed my life. DBU really is an amazing school filled with countless opportunities and countless ways to build community with other students. This school changed my life. The faculty cares so deeply about your success, not only educationally, but spiritually as well. If you are looking for an amazing education, and to be positively challenged in your faith, I highly recommend Dallas Baptist University. Not to mention, it's been ranked the number 1 safest university in the country! DBU also gives out amazing scholarships. I know several student who were able to pay off their entire first year with scholarships alone. So don't let the price online scare you away. buses and parking are nightmares here. No parking or you will have to pay everytime you park including weekend whereas other schools often free. Buses always late and full. The school not even tried to get more buses. Also, there is 40mins wait between 2 buses. Finally, unequal opportunity for on cambus job or help. We came to many departments and asked for help but they rarely tried to solve but kept saying we could not do anything. And we came back multiple time and the other did help us out. So what is the point of saying we cannot do anything when another people in the department can? unequal training? Also, if you are looking for a job here, good luck!duc nguyen

I enjoyed my time at UNT, made some great friends, and I have good memories. However, this University is not longer a place of higher education but a political activist training ground. I never thought that I’d see the day that The First Amendment would not be honored at UNT, but that is what has happened. And to think I have a degree in Criminal Justice from there is similar to being trained as an EMT by Dr. Kevorkian. Awful….it’s too bad that I will not be able to hire any students (or UNTs “product”) from here as it’s just too risky. Same with giving to the Development office.Where's Waldo?

The Grad program is a joke. I've never met more people incompetent of doing their job. The undergrad school should conduct training with the grad school to get them up to par. Because they dropped the ball, I now get stuck with their issues. Also the elderly lady working in billing should take a phone etiquette class. We are in 2022. There shouldn't be this many issues consistently happening. Yet, the undergrad side was on top of every single aspect. I absolutely LOVED The Artist’s Way with Rex McGee. He is wonderful. He offers his time whether it’s in or out of class and encourages communication. He really helped me get out of my head and push myself outside of my comfort zone. I would recommend this class 100%. If you are thinking about it, think no more! You NEED this class! On the other hand, I took a class Intro to Fiction with James Tate Hill. That class was really disappointing. The class participation was next to none. The first couple of weeks was okay, then everyone stopped participating. No one was commenting on the weekly discussions, they even stopped critiquing others short stories. My first submitted short story I would say 3/4 of the class critiqued. My second story received ZERO critiques other than J.T’s. J.T said he had never had a class like that before, so, perhaps I am just the unlucky one. But, I feel pretty cheated considering the kind of money I paid for the class.Nancy Sterling

Blake Kimzey goes above and beyond in each class he teaches, by providing the students with detailed examples from his own work and the writing of authors he admires. He is generous with his time in answering questions before, during and after the course. He truly cares about helping other writers succeed and is endlessly optimistic about our future writing. His positive energy in presenting keeps the class flowing and fun. I have already taken two classes with Writing Workshops Dallas and will take a third one this coming weekend. I have seen writers from all over the country taking part in the classes. I have an MFA in Creative Nonfiction and Poetry from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and I feel these classes from Writing Workshops Dallas are for students of all levels, from beginner to advanced. I am writing review as recipient of a gift from my husband to participate in this course. What a lovely course I experienced with Kate Hill Cantrill. I was a newbie to a formal writing course and also busy with regular life in the meantime. Kate was gracious, passionate, and kind. She was supportive and inspiring in her guidance and feedback. I appreciated the well prepared content and writing prompts, and loved the idea that we could be honest and open about the difficult topics we approached in writing about family. I felt Kate was also particularly patient and encouraging to newcomers to the process. The Communication Design program at the College of Visual Arts and Design has been a well of knowledge when it comes to design. Second time around taking a basic drawing course and I can say this teacher was a little better than the first but not by much at all. Took a ladies class first was not the greatest experience, then I took a males course Munoz I believe and although he was sorta nice I don’t think he could teach what he knew well. Also it was a summer course and it was really jam packed and some instructors at least from my experience pick who they want to really help and give feedback to. All in all the course was free since I wanted to give it another try but I wouldn’t pay money for it again since I’ve been learning more in online courses.Jack Will

This is a great way to explore your creative side. I finally took a few sessions of the Metal Arts class after years of talking about it. I have no idea why I waited so long. Even though I had no experience, I was able to quickly learn how to make metal arts. Art Garcia is an amazing instructor. He has a background in teaching and creating public art work. We spent the early sessions focused on learning technique. Then he helped me find my creative side and bring it out in my work. He does a great job giving you the skills and inspiration to explore and showcase your talents.Laura Freeland

I've taken 2 sessions of classes here and I love it. The cost worried me at first, but I bit the bullet and did it anyways and I am so glad I did. The instructors are amazing, and they provide you with all the tools you need to be able to complete your projects. I've had 2 different instructors and I've learned so much. The University of Dallas is a private Catholic university that offers its students a top notch liberal arts education. The Catholic identity at UD is very strong. With about 80% of the student population being Catholic, it’s a great place for devout Catholics to spend four years learning and strengthening their faith. That’s not to say that it’s only good for Catholics. I find quite the opposite to be true. One of my best friends at UD is a protestant, and she has never felt unwelcome or stifled at UD as a result of the Catholic identify. UD students are eager to embrace people of all sorts and engage in intellectual conversations about different points of view. No matter what denomination a student is or what beliefs they hold, they benefit immensely from a UD education because in their classes they learn fundamental truths about the human condition. All students are required to complete a core curriculum of classes that study texts that are fundamental to Western civilization, including works by Homer, the Greek playwrights, Dante, and Milton. UD also has a campus in Italy, just outside of Rome where students can spend an entire semester. The Rome semester is a perfect complement to the core curriculum, and the students get to travel both as a class and individually. I went to Germany, Spain, Ireland, France, Hungary, Greece, and different parts of Italy in the span of a semester. So students leave UD as well-educated, worldly people. These are the kinds of people you will find at UD. The social scene is not the same as one you would find at a huge public university. It’s a different atmosphere because the school is small, but there are tons of opportunities to have fun. UD has some awesome traditions and there’s live music on campus almost weekly. It’s not the place for everyone. The university is quick to admit that. Students at UD are dedicated to learning and thinking critically, along with enjoying life along the way. If that doesn’t sound like something you want to do, then UD is probably not for you. For students that want that, UD is a great place to be.Amanda Kitten

To say that the University of Dallas was just another college experience severely understates the plethora of opportunities and unforgettable moments that shared during my four years of undergraduate study. UD is an excellent Catholic liberal arts school in the heart of the DFW area. Each student has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge while also possessing a propensity for building fellowship, both academic and social. The full time faculty are required to obtain the highest degree in their field (most often PhD), thus ensuring the rigorous academic standards of which UD is so often known. While studying, I was blessed with the opportunity to study abroad in both Rome and Costa Rica, both expanded my intellectual horizons as well as fostered my personal growth as a young man. My fellow classmates helped push me to be the best version, intellectually and spiritually. The community here is something that lasts long after your four years. Though University of Dallas's student body is 80% Catholic, I have never regretted going here as a non-Catholic student. Contrary to what some of the reviewers below have written, professors and students for the most part are open to other ideas and beliefs. The professors here are excellent for the most part, though often difficult. UD's Rome program is rightly ranked one of the best in the nation, combining challenging and relevant academics with lots of travel time and great class trips in Italy and Greece. Camping in Ireland and Wales over Ten Day (spring break) with some of my buddies was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had as were our trips to Greece, Pompeii, and Poland among others. Overall I would say UD is great place for anyone who wants a thorough and excellent education in the liberal arts and who wants to get to see the world in one of the most fun contexts possible.Alex Macdonald

I see a lot of reviews saying this school has a beautiful campus and amazing reputation, which it does. Also, the professors are amazing and the students are very bright. However, the administration and politics within this university is abysmal. Little to no information was given regarding registration for after being accepted into the university for graduate students. When I called and emailed the school, I was transferred numerous times to numerous departments because nobody knew how to answer my question or who could answer it. There seems to be little to no communication between departments. Parking doesn’t exist between 10am-3pm. With how much the cost of Parking, housing, and tuition has increased over the years, I expected improvements in the facilities and organization within this university. I have seen little to no change. Student life is also quite mundane. The university clearly does not strive to encourage an active and engaged student body. The university’s events such as weeks of welcome and guest speakers pale in comparison to every other university in Texas. This includes universities such as UT San Antonio and Texas State, which are significantly cheaper and smaller. Considering UTD’s notoriety for having the 4th most unhappy student body among universities in the country, I’m surprised the administration can turn a blind eye to student engagement. I feel like I’m just a dollar sign to this university after 4 years as an undergrad and 1 year as a masters student. I would not encourage anyone to come here.Ann Ma

Absolute terrible staff. Attended this school for 1 day. Went to the office and dropped the ONE class i had the FIRST day for financial reasons. I get a bill 6 months later for $800+. Apparently the one class was $4000+ and i was responsible for a percentage of it because according to their records i waited over 3 weeks to drop? This place is a scam and if you need anything done like this be sure to keep your paperwork and names of people you talk to. They will try to get all the money they can out of you in whatever way possible.Tyler McCarty

Great University in a great location. If you are thinking about applying here, go do it. Its a relatively young school, so the facilities are still very clean and at night, the campus almost looks like a block off of a futuristic city. There are lots of events happening on campus, and lots of networking opportunities. Just warning you, this is not a school where you can expect to get laid and party every night and pass. If you plan to go into a serious major such as engineering, science, or business, you will have to focus.Gun Dae

Went to this stadium on a sold out day. Worst entry experience I have ever seen. The lines to get in were crazy long. We were late to get into the game because of it. Concessions are at least a 30 minute wait. You would think when they know it’s going to be sold out that they would prepare ahead of time. Absolutely no preparation took place to prepare for this many people and it shows. Bathrooms are disgusting. Seats are basically all bleachers. Hate so much when we have to play here.
