Review Summary
I am a student of the Bay Area Medical Academy and am happy to recommend the academy to all who intend to take their careers a step further. I joined this Academy in the Phlebotomy program and am very satisfied with the education and training that I have recieved from the academy. I owe my knowledge and skill about phlebotomy to this academy. Today I am on my way to accomplishing the milestones that lay before me but am confident that very soon not only will I be able to get a job in the medical field but will also be able to make a small difference to the lives of many people who suffer from various illnesses. Phlebotomy is an important and much needed skill and I'm happy and grateful to have acquired it from Bay Area Medical Academy. I saw a few one star reviews and decided to update my review. I wonder why are there some unhappy students. I only have good things to report. My instructor Ms. B did a good job of teaching us. The labs here are amazing!!! They never run out of supplies! From day one, the process was outlined really well. Karina at externship is simply amazing!!! A thorough professional. She's very quick to respond to requests and queries and takes into consideration your needs. Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! I feel sorry for the students who haven't had a fab experience but realize, it's an academy and externship is doing all they can to place as may of us as they can at locations of our choice. It's not an easy task by any standard!! Follow their process to the 'T' and it's a very smooth sail. Also look deep within you…. were you on your A game? Did you miss a step in the process? Lastly, do realize that this school is relatively affordable as compared to the others out there and that's kudos to the board at BAMA who've kept this into consideration while designing a program. Overall, I am super satisfied and will come to BAMA over and over again for adding on new skills! No two ways on that one. Thank you BAMA for taking such good care of me and the other students. Eternally gateful. For the skeptics out there, I am in no way benefited from this review. I believe in giving credit where it's due.Rajat Sethi
My experience with (bay area academy) I used lower case letters for the name of the school because I feel I had no help with employment, also when jobs were posted they said if you're interested feel free to send resumes to the school and they will assist students because they are affiliated with the companies. That never happened. The resume specialist did incomplete resumes for me more than once. I finished my program EKG Technician 2017 I am still not working. I went in again October 2018 to be assisted with resume still incomplete. I was prepared for a job fair in which bay area academy was to help me prepare for, again I was told I would be called to be assisted with the pre- employment They never got back to me until after it was over. Lots of students was unsuccessful in jobs. It helps to have your own resources and connections. If you have a great resume specialist in mind that could help to.Chauncey Boutte
I got lucky with having a great teacher! The training was very thorough, and the externship was very helpful. My only complaint is that BAMA GRAVELY MISLEAD me to believe that this process was short. The wait time for an externship is incredibly long, even if you can do a 2+ week one. And the state takes weeks to process your license once you are done with your paperwork. All in all, it took me about a year to get my license; and I had the luxury of doing the 3 week externship with a shortISH wait time.Melissa Fiato

What used to be a quality, albeit an expensive education at a quality institution has degraded into nothing more than a typical private college, pay your money get your degree. A lot of the instructors are less than knowledgeable about subjects that most persons in the same subject field at a four year degree level would know. Complaints against faculty that are legitimate and provable are met at first with a sweep it under the rug mentality and if a student continues to push the issue, with outright and blatant retaliation. Classes are changed with no regards to the syllabus, instructors are often unreachable, lacking in knowledge and less than professional. The old adage of you get what you pay for does not hold true for this less than stellar, so called educational institution.Compulsive Reviewer

I started the program with Ms Perez as my lab instructor and ended with Ms Patrice. I'm older, laid off from a 25yr career and didn't know what to do with my life let alone where to start. Ms Perez and Ms Patrice made learning so easy, fun and amongst all, they made it interesting and made me feel excited to keep attending. The process at Unitek is easy to complete due to the communication level the staff has with their students. My career advisor, Ms Lisa is great! Ms Lisa Literally held my hand through the exiting process, kept in touch throughout my externship, made sure I was staying sane throughout the process of going to extern, working nights and taking care of my family. Walked me through my application process for a job, held my hand through the interview process, kept in touch throughout the whole process until I got an offer letter!!!! My experience with everyone at Unitek was great, but my experience with Ms Lisa is one that needs to be recognized!!!!Chris Fusi
I had a wonderful experience with Ms. Patrice my laboratory instructor and Ms. Perez. Both have mentored me & helped me become the MA I am today. Ms. Lisa Haynes in Career Services is a hard worker & goes to bat for her students. I received a job offer during my externship, that was too good to pass up as a new grad, thanks to her guidance. I recommend taking your MA in the day class as the PM class lacks structure & professionalism with one particular teacher…that is the only reason I left off a star. The school itself has a fully functioning lab for clinical experience, is safe, clean, holds dinners or gives treats for student morale and tuition is less than other schools in the Bay Area.Jennifer Wills
Instructors are professional with vast and extensive work experiences. They are genuinely caring and helpful for the sucess of the student and learning environment. Each department provided substantial support that made going through the program easier. Courtney and Rachel with Career Services gave us the confidence and tools to help make the transition from student life into the working world smooth.Gigi Tamayo

This facility does not show concern for seniors, especially if they are dying. They will call the police if your family are trying to comfort a family member when they are dying. One nurse in particular was Beyond Rude. Not sure what her problem is. I wonder why she works there if she is not happy with her job? I would NEVER recommend this facility to Anyone. The Ordacity to call the Police and deny a priest from praying over a sick patient that’s Dying. The head nurse this evening is the one that chose to call the police and kick out a visiting family member. There are continuous issues with this head nurse that seems to be a miserable person.Shantee G
Horrible registration process. No matter what you’re doing, you must register at the same office. The wait times are horrible. Only two people doing registration for the entire medical center. I waited close to an hour just to get a quick “walk-in” procedure. Getting from registration to the different departments it’s like going through a maze. Very time consuming. Completely unnecessary. Allow at least 1-hour for registration. Another 30 to get lost around the building and going to different floors for each procedure. At least another 30 mins for parking. Ugh! Disappointed.Monica Martinez
I am scheduled for a XLIF spinal fusion surgery in 10days with Dr Kondrashov who I have confidence in and has been supportive considering my workers comp insurance chaos. During my visits to St Marys for X-rays and picking up med records I found the staff to be kind, helpful and knowledgeable excellent. So I’m going into my surgery and hospital stay calm and confident in their ability to care for me and this is a huge relief at a time like this.. I’ll review again after my surgery and stay.Kristina Cunha

Review Summary
I started working in person with Kevin in September 2021 with hopes of alleviating some hip, lower back, neck, and shoulder issues that started in January 2020. These ailments had made it difficult for me to work (I am a surgeon) and had taken me away from some of the activities that I love most (lifting weights, cross training). I had worked with a physical therapist virtually during the pandemic with limited success. I chose Kevin because of the numerous positive reviews praising both his thoroughness and skill. Kevin has been everything that is advertised and more. You simply will not find this level of attention at your average physical therapist’s office. At my initial consultation, Kevin performed a very thorough medical history, listening to everything that I had to say. He asked insightful questions which showed me his fund of knowledge and was able to elicit history that I had not thought would be pertinent. He then performed a thorough physical assessment, clearly outlined what he thought was the problem, and laid out a plan. Since the initial consultation, Kevin and I have worked together every two weeks and we have made tremendous progress. My pain has significantly decreased and I am now able to perform my job without physical limitations. What I truly appreciate about Kevin is that he is conscientious of my time and creates realistic, attainable goals. Other physical therapists that I have seen will introduce 7-8 exercises that may take 45 minutes to perform, without really explaining proper mechanics. Kevin spends copious time helping me understand what I should “feel” with every exercise. He then narrows down the treatment plan to the most beneficial exercises that take me 15-20 minutes per day to complete. Kevin is kind and caring, and just an awesome guy all around. He has a great bedside manner and working with him has been really enjoyable. Kevin is a gem, and if you are looking for a top notch physical therapist in San Francisco, he is your guy!Andrew Tye
I have been seeing Kevin at Graspmore Physical Therapy for over a year now. I started working with Kevin when I wasn't able to move like I used to. I was an athlete all during my youth and have kept active with outdoor activities and the gym, but as I get older things aren't working like they did all those years ago. As a trainer and coach myself, I tried to push through and manage it, but knew I needed someone else to look at me. I have had chronic low back issues and pelvic misalignment that has kept me from being able to do some movements such as lunges and deadlifts, and would be in pain snowboarding and hiking. I couldn't do walking lunges or run without my low back seizing up. It's a sad day when your body hurts doing things that were so easy a decade before. With a combination of active release therapy, followed by stabilization and strength exercises, Kevin's work with me now has given me the ability to accomplish these movements pain free. With his physical assessment and listening to what hurts and where, he is able to work on me and then teach me how to correct my movements and stabilize. We walk through real world situations (just not in the gym) to see how I can move differently without causing any mishaps (ie, getting out of bed, getting in and out of the truck). I am always sure to do my homework (and there is always homework – that's the only way to get better). Kevin is a great listener and is always extremely focused during our sessions. He has a friendly demeanor and is super easy to get along with. I regularly check in with Kevin a couple times a month to make sure I'm on the right track, or to work with anything new that pops up. Currently we are working on snowboard prep as it's been a couple years for me and I want to handle the mountain pain free. I have no doubt that my recent work and sessions with Kevin will allow me to have a great time! I can't recommend Kevin enough!Mike Clausen
I started working with Kevin on October 25th, 2021. I was referred to Kevin from my son who was also doing physical therapy with Kevin. I was working with Kevin to help me recover from a partial knee replacement surgery. He asked me what my goals for physical therapy were. I told him I wanted to return to playing softball pain free. With a recovery path set in stone, Kevin laid out my plan for recovery. He carefully explained what he was working on and was always checking in on my pain threshold during the procedures or movements. Exercises were carefully explained and he was always watching to make sure that I was using correct form. He was very patient and always asked if I have any questions. He was also very pleasant to talk with. That being said, I had to do the homework that Kevin prescribed to me. Just going to therapy once or twice a week without doing the homework would have prolonged my recovery. I am now close to pain free and will start playing softball soon. I can’t thank Kevin enough for what he has done for me. Give him a shot and you will see for yourself.Brian Wong

I am so glad I chose to begin my education in health care by participating in the CNA course at International Health Group. My experience here has prepared me for my future in health care, taught me skills and knowledge to excel. Additionally, the instructors here are so amazing, our instructor made the class so fun by letting us be hands on and told us real world stories that we will never forget. Along the way, I’ve met so many amazing individuals who all have a passion for helping others. These are people I will stay in touch with and network in the future with. I am excited to begin my career as CNA and climb the latter in Nursing. Our clinical experience gave us so much insight, experience and smiles. I sincerely am so grateful that I was able to attend this program! I could not have chosen a better place! Along with the staff being so kind and helpful! I highly recommend this place!Madison Brainard
I just completed the CNA course with Ms. Carla during this quarantine. Let me tell you, I had the most impeccable experience! Ms. Carla is the most kind, generous, honest, and caring instructor I’ve ever had — even surpassing my college professors. She always came to class with a bright spirit, and a warm smile (although we all wore masks, it was easy to recognize in her demeanor 🙂 ). She made the classroom a safe environment to talk about our studying & practicing concerns, practical life experience, and even how to handle our personal lives in general. I am so great full that I got stuck with such a fire-cracker of a teacher, and I will always remember her and my experiences with her as my embarkation to my nursing career. I would 100% recommend Ms. Carla as an instructor for this program to others!Sarah C

Review Summary
[Update] High professionalism showcased After my original review, Aaron and Robert (regional manager) reached out to solve the billing issue. They mentioned that it was a problem on the insurance side, and that they were working with them on solving the issue. The insurance reached out today saying that they had had a problem processing the claims. Moreover, Aaron and Robert agreed to solve the billing issue on their side, and to offer me a complementary consultation (which was extremely useful). Even if the original experience was really unfortunate, it is great to see them going above and beyond showing customer care to solve my issues [Original review] Okay patient experience. Horrible billing experience I went to Therapydia to treat an ankle fracture. I had an okay patient experience: full mobility in my ankle now, but still some pain, despite being diligent about my exercises. Arnelle, my therapist, told me that it was normal to still experience some discomfort (even if it has been since January) Billing experience: I got a bill with an outstanding balance that I didn't recognize. I reached out to my insurance provider, and it seems that Therapydia had been getting full payments for all my visits (they were getting paid as if they were in network), despite being "theoretically" out of network. I called Aaron, and he told me that they were trying to fix it, and that they would give me an update soon Almost 2 months later, with no update from their side, I get a reminder of resolving the issue to "keep my account in good standing". I think this is unacceptable, and I have started a complaint with my insurance: getting paid double and, on top of that, asking for a not existing balance…Illán García Amor
I had a great first experience at Therapydia! I’ve been struggling with shoulder discomfort and was looking for a friendly, cost efficient, and well sourced physical therapist in the area, when I came upon Therapydia. What first caught my attention was the information available on the website and how they claimed to “not be another” physical therapy office. As any intrigued customer would, I called and was greeted by a very friendly, competent, and helpful administrator, Toya. Toya provided a lot of great insight about the company and even called my insurance provider (Blue Cross Blue Shield) to ensure that my insurance would be accepted before scheduling my initial visit. Toya really is awesome and is one of the reasons that I chose Therapydia. Upon arrival to the Embarcadero Center, where the office is located, parking is available in the underground structure and Therapydia validates parking. Instead of paying $18, I only paid $4. The actual office is upstairs between a hair studio and other business. The office was very clean, inviting, and provided enough privacy that other patrons wouldn’t know what’s happening. I was originally scheduled to meet with Allison, but, I worked with Marcus instead. Marcus was friendly and knowledgeable. I’m looking forward to rehabilitating my shoulder at Therapydia and recommend them for any physical therapy needs.RB
This is my second attempt at physical therapy for a couple of ongoing issues (hip and knee) and my first feeling of success. While I waited more than a month for an appointment with an orthopedist to assess if there was a real injury, I got to work with Deanna and saw results after just a few sessions. (Ortho guy finally confirmed it was a PT issue, not surgical.) I'm super impressed with exercises I was given and the results I attained. It was also helpful when she suggested using my phone to record my doing the exercise, while she coached, to review later. Genius! I whole-heartedly recommend TherapydiaSF from the front desk service to the therapy. Couldn't be more satisfied.Jan Hardee

Review Summary
The teachers here are amazing and wonderful and do not get enough credit for all the little things they do. I was in the vet tech program. All the instructors for vet tech actually are RVT which is cool, cause they have seen so many things and worked in the field for so long, they are all so very knowledgeable. Most of the employees who worked in the office are also very helpful and kind. No one in the entire Carrington College Pleasant Hill location regarding faculty (including staff, office workers, janitors and teachers) gets the recognition they deserve. Everyone i met in the time during my program all went above and beyond what they were paid to do or had to do because the instructors and teachers really care about you and really want you to reach your goals. Any problems or issues you may be having the teachers will always help you or they will find someone who is better equipped to help and understand your issues or problems. The 2 years i spent here because thats how fast you can get your degree and diploma in a 2 year period went back so quick and i would completely do it again. All the teachers have there own way of giving you the information you need but it is your job to study it. My teacher was awesome so there were times when the teacher would stay later then needed just to help me and other studys or review any information that we werent completely comfortable with yet. It's nice to know that the staff, instructors and teachers really want you to know this information and will not get pass anyone who doesnt know there information. You get to work with so many beautiful animals both which students, and teacher bring in from there homes as well as the labs we attend to practice on larger animals such as horses and cows. It was all just one big thrilling event. All teachers, instructors and staff deserve a raise for the wonderful things they do just on a daily basis to help others that goes unnoticed. During my time here at the Carrington College Pleasant Hill campus i also worked there as a student worker. All staff members are overworked and underpaid. The higher up management people who get paid to do a job that they pan off on the others who are lower in ranked get all the opportunities as well as all the recognition for things they have no part in. I have seen multiple people quit or be fired for what others have done which is not right. The CEOs or whomever is at the top and makes the decision for everyone under them needs to pay more attention to there employees and actually realize what they are doing and know what they are worth. The instructors and teachers do not work here because of the pay or recognition that they so rightfully deserve and need, NO. They work here because they love the people here, because they love the students here, it's because they love what they do and they want us students to make sure we love it to. They do not want us paying so much money and taking all these classes if it is not something we actually want and like to do and are good in it. If all the little dogs got paid more and well enough as well as proper trainer for new employees and not just throwing them to the wolves making them feel overwhelmed and adding boatloads of paperwork to a single person already under stress and having a shoulder looked over every minute wondering if they are messing up because no one was there to properly train them, then the employees at carrington college pleasant hill campus would probably stay longer and would not leave due to things being mislooked at. Thank you for your time. I will always love and miss all the teachers i had, all the instructors who taught me something and all the staff members who became my friends both in and out of the work place.satin williams

I have always loved the simplicity and integrity of Safety Training Seminars. For someone who has to take the same CPR recertification course every 2 years, they have always made this process so convenient and easy to do. Now, since pandemic, they have stepped it up a huge notch!! I was so impressed with the new online course and in person unattended testing setup. It was amazing and they made it so easy to complete. I even learned more this time than ever! The testing process now gives you direct feedback on your compressions and your breaths. Gotta say – I am so impressed! Great job Safety Training Seminars. See you in 2 years!Bill Mohler
I ended up doing the class in SF after failing the hands on skills test with the computer assisted mannequin. The problem with the mannequin was that it was not responsive enough to compression depth. I tried 6 or more times to the point of exhaustion and gave up. It needs to be adjusted or only offer the course to line backers. Since I passed the test online I had to go to SF to do skills testing. John did a great job and moved through the material quite well. I would recommend the class over the mannequin especially if you are on the petite side.Joan Collins
Location was great and parking is always easy there. Easy entry and even without an instructor, everything was well explained. The demos helped a great deal and it was great to have immediate feedback on all the parameters from the training. To have it in real time and to really feel exactly how much depth and recoil is needed. Great overall experience without any problemsKelly Stanton

I’m at my final stage at Carrington College, because I finished my extenship and in the process of getting hired. And I just wanted to give thanks to Felicia, Alex, Darshweni, Career services ( Lenni and Eva), Corey, Angel, Eleni, Cynthia, Michelle, Jasmine, Mark, my classmates of course, and Carrington College staff for helping me with a better career and to prepare myself for the medical assistant role in the healthcare system. This is a great college to attend for training/lectures to achieve your goals! You will be amazing with the technology and staff working here! You won't regret it!Kevin Boyer
I was very interested in beginning a career in the medical field and and when I inquired I was introduced to Dena and she was extremely helpful with everything i needed to know and answered all my questions, she helped me with enrolling, and it was a breeze. The entire process was easy and quick and I’m already finishing my 1st term. Throughout my entire term Dena kept in touch and made sure I was doing ok and asked if I ever needed anything, she has been more than helpful and attentive. I would recommend anybody contemplating coming here to do it!Tiesha Meacham
Carrington’s staff is so supportive, and truly wants to see their students succeed! I’m a student who has only gone through the enrollment process thus far and they all have made me feel so welcomed and excited to start the program. Dena Asefi specifically has pushed for me to start and get into the program, I know that she will be a great resource every step of the way. Very grateful for the organization of starting process and staff that handles that, it has made me very eager to begin and finish the school year!!Isela Gonzalez

Golden Ticket Admissions provides highly competent and efficient professional college counseling services in a one-on-one setting. My son worked with Ariel who is a former admissions office counsellor from a top university. She established trust early in the process through her wide knowledge of how the system works, absolute dedication to her line of work and the manner in which she motivated my son to bring out his best. Throughout the process, she was highly accessible and responsive to the many questions my son needed answers to, as well as the many drafts needed to get an essay to that ideal state. She is well organized and ensured things stayed on track through subtle reminders of looming deadlines and the benefits of getting the work done in a timely manner to avoid late stage stress. Thanks to her masterful guidance my son was able to rise up to his full potential and turn in his best application material to the universities of his choice. It is rare to see this level of passion and dedication, and it indeed was a heart-warming experience for my son and me.Anand Rajavelu
Thank you to Ariel and the Golden Ticket team for helping so much with the college application process! This is such a difficult time for families, and her expert guidance was supportive every step of the way. As a former Stanford Admissions officer, Ariel was the perfect person to answer all of my most intricate questions about college applications. She has been helping students get into their dream schools for over 10 years now, and it shows in her professionalism, attention to detail, strategic guidance, and thoughtful feedback on everything from personal essays to building my extracurricular profile. Most helpful was Ariel’s assistance crafting the personal statements. There were SO many, but with the support of the Golden Ticket team it was much more manageable. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of Golden Ticket. Very thankful for the outstanding support!!Alex Bedner
We feel fortunate to have found Golden Ticket Admissions (GTA) through a family friend who previous had good experience. We searched extensively and interviewed with many agents but we are very happy to end up with GTA. Our son liked his tutoring sessions but more importantly as parents, we were well informed before and along the way on what to expect. GTA helped us manage realistic expectations on college selections while encouraged our son to pursue his dream at the same time. Although test scores cannot lie, strategic applications and essay writings make a big difference in getting into a reach college. We feel GTA adds tremendous value in strategic planning and execution in our entire college application process. Our son got into his choice school and we are grateful to GTA.Shaoching Bishop

Review Summary
This school only cares about the money you pay them. I remember the director contacting me so many times in a week to pay my past due. I was still waiting for my VA benefits to kick in. Then I was told if I don’t pay by this date, I will be removed from the program. So I applied for a loan to pay off my past due. After that I was never harassed again. I expected a lot from this school. From great didactic instructors to clinical instructors. But that did not happened. I only had one good didactic instructor. My clinical instructor was lazy and always complaining. The leadership did not care about you. Just their well being as a school. Your grades don’t matter. Also they did not care if you are a military veteran. There were times that I had to clock in using my phone which is not allowed, but my clinical instructor was always late so I couldn’t clock in using a computer. I was removed from the MRI program because I was DISHONEST. Instead of helping you to improve, they just remove you from the program because they got what they needed from you. MONEY! No kind of remediation whatsoever. Just after your MONEY. You’re better off with Unitek where they care about their students emotionally, spiritually, and personally. Being a nurse is way better than being an MRI tech.👎Ervan Valdez
I applied to the Gurnick Academy ultrasound technology program ( San Mateo campus ), At first I was getting constant email reminders to complete documents before the deadline date . After I completed everything I had an panel interview set up , the interview went well overall but I was asked a certain question that I didn’t completely understand and when I hesitated ( and felt nervous ) the interviewer rudely responded with frustration at my delayed response . At the end of the interview they informed me that I would receive a response within 3 weeks. Within a few days I received an email demanding that I complete a financial aid form within that day “ just in case” I get into the program even though I hadn’t received an acceptance letter. Well.. 3 weeks passed and I sent a follow up email kindly thanking everyone that attended the interview for there time and consideration . I didn’t get a single reply back from that email , a month after the interview day they emailed me informing that I didn’t get in and should try applying next year . The negative reviews I read after the fact are correct , it seemed like they were only after money .Amani Abdaw
I have had the pleasure of working with Gurnick and their students for over 4 years and can say it has been a wonderful experience. The MRI students sent to my facility for clinical training are professional, hard-working and team players. All my Technologists are Gurnick grads! A big thank you to Elena Danilova for building such a great relationship with me and my facility.Kimberly MacDonald

Review Summary
I am writing this review as a new grad from the LVN program at Unitek's Hayward Campus. I chose Unitek as the location to take on my nursing education after attempting to go through the community college route. The CC route can be long and dragged out as many of the science course are impacted. I knew I wanted to be nurse and Unitek was my express ride to that goal. Classes were very informative and every class was directed to nursing concepts and skills. This kept me engaged throughout the whole program because the goal of being a nurse felt more tangible because I could directly see how what I was learning would be applied once I finished. My theory instructor Mr. X was PHENOMENAL. He created an environment that was conducive to the success of his students. His lectures were not only interesting but his passion and knowledge was more than evident. In short, he wanted us to be successful, knowledgable and confident nurses. My skills and clinical instructor Mr. Singh and Ms. Lisa were incredibly smart and resourceful. Mr. Singh taught clinicals as if we were hired nurses and wanted to be sure we understood how to do things as well as WHY which I think was priceless. He also taught us about the real scenarios that could potentially happen in the real world as nurses that you would not necessarily find within a textbook. The LVN program all in all was a rigorous program however the school provides resources to each of us as students that would help us be successful. My recommendation to any prospective student is to build a rapport with the people around you including your classmates (i.e. create study buddies and study groups) to help you and use your resources (ATI and ATI textbooks.) I graduated June 30th, 2022. I passed my nclex-pn in 75 questions on July 26th 2022. Unitek works!Sherelle Davis
The whole staff, admissions, financial department, and student services(Leslie) was amazing and very helpful in helping me navigate throughout the process of getting into the Unitek Program as well as achieving completion. Yes it get's harder as you go but always listen to the professors who will ensure that you are learning as much of the material that you should be learning to be successful and hopefully pass the NCLEX-PN. Taking this program is all about discipline and just like at work and school you will feel pressured throughout because of deadlines, but learning to organize, prioritization, and finding your learning style and adjusting to where you can both feel focused and prepared both mentally and physically for tests and all other course content is very important to be successful in this program. HAY 3 2021 <3Julianne Cristobal
I went to Unitek to get my LVN license and finished a little over a year ago. There might be hiccups here and there, but the teachers at Unitek really make it a great program. Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Heidi, Mrs. Woodard and Mrs. Brown are some of the best teachers I’ve ever had. They’re always there to help you with any questions you have and they go the extra mile to ensure you have all the tools you need to succeed. They will sacrifice their personal time after work hours to help their students. I just started my BSN program and I remember so much of what I learned at Unitek because of these teachers. The school itself might not be perfect, but I couldn’t have asked for a better education.Jake Peterson

My overall experience at CalRegional has been absolutely wonderful! From the very first day my teacher Michelle P. made each of us feel like we had a reason for being there, and that she was determined to see us succeed! We were all SO nervous to start our externship portion of the class, knowing we were about to start physically poking each other with needles Lol. But our skills instructor, Samoia J. couldn't have possibly made class more enjoyable. She was ALWAYS making every one of us crack up, but also always teaching us how serious our job was. It is a great feeling to know that the ones teaching you are on your side and always have your back 😊. I would highly recommend CalRegional to my friends and family, and DEFINITELY, if you are blessed enough to have the chance, have Michelle P. and Samoia J. as your teachers! I miss them both greatly and look forward to eventually taking another class at CalRegional 😆🙏❤️!Laura Canalita
I was in the phlebotomy program and had Michelle and samoia as instructors and in more words or less they were amazing . I never felt like I wasn’t given the tools to pass and do my best. The prep material for tests and quizzes gave me every opportunity to pass and more. Michelle was nice and always happy to help with any questions I had. Samoia, eased all my fears and had complete confidence in me when I didn’t. If your contemplating taking this course , do it , great program and even better instructors!Brittany Aguayo
I joined Calregional for the phlebotomy program in September and just passed the AMCA with a 94/100 in October. I loved the course and was extremely satisfied with my instructors Michelle and Samoia. They made sure to prepare us for success since the first day. Gave us all the tools and resources we would need not just for our classroom but even for what we should expect from our future employers. I would highly recommend this course to anybody interested and I have no regrets whatsoever.Elizabeth Lara

So grateful for everyone who was involved in my care at Carbon Health Urgent care on 10/10/22. I was on vacation from Ohio to San Francisco and became ill. I searched on-line for a walk-in clinic near 47th Ave and read great reviews for Carbon Health Urgent Care! First, the receptionist was so understanding that i was late for my appointment because i couldn't find a parking spot and she was eager to work me back into their busy schedule, so that I wouldn't have to come back. I was promptly called back to a room where i was thoroughly assessed by Meagan, the nurse practitioner on duty. She was very knowledgeable and very kind to me. She described the medication she was going to prescribe to make sure I understood the side effects. In 5 days, I was good as new! Thank to everyone at Carbon Health Urgent Care for such wonderful care and hospitality to an out of state patient!pamela Medica
I love that I am able to book an appointment through the app or over the phone for the same day. The staff at this urgent care are incredibly kind and sweet and always make you feel welcomed, which is nice when most of the patients wish they weren’t there in the first place. The nurse and MA are everything you would expect a physician to be. They update your records in a very timely manner and the app is great for keeping track of everything! Cannot recommend this urgent care enough.Isela Rivas
Great, friendly team, from scheduling to the front desk to the medical team. Felt I got excellent care, and appointments for urgent care were convenient and available. UPDATE: I just have to add that the follow up was fantastic and even got a checking in message to see how I was feeling. The messaging in the app is great and replies are extremely fast and responsive. Very impressed with this group.Mags Gee

I attended the Santa Rosa location and I had Ms . Nancy I took the phlebotomy course and did the Saturday classes if you end up having Miss Nancy let me tell you she is the best instructor hands-down all you have to do is listen to her lectures and observe her great hands-on skills on how she does the blood draws. She makes it very understanding and she is the best instructor. I passed thanks to Nancy! She has a lot of knowledge and she’s there to help you every step of the way. The school provides a really good training course and the price is a little bit expensive though the tiuition Even if you’re on the monthly plan I thought it was a bit expensive but other than that I’m very happy I passed the class and can now look forward to my career I’ve wanted . Thank you and thank you Ms.Nancy she’s very sweet and knowledgeable and all you have to do is pay attention and you will pass the class of you have her she is the best!Megan Doss
If you are considering doing a program at CalRegional – do it! I couldn’t have asked for a greater experience. They really prepared me for getting certified as a Medical Assistant. I had a wonderful teacher, got placed quickly at an externship site, and had such a wonderful in class experience with my peers. Ms. Julie worked so hard to help us succeed in the class and prepare us for the NHA certification exam and I passed on the first attempt because of her. They really care about their students and do everything to help them succeed. A totally affordable option and it was so nice being able to take such a fast track program. Would definitely do this again and even considering going back to do the phlebotomy program. Thank you CalRegional for such a great program!Jenna Ritchie
The courses you take, while accelerated, teach you SO much in just a short span of time. It's a lot of dedication and work keeping up with everything, but it's so so worth it! I had the best possible teacher I could have for my Pharmacy Technician course, Heather Thornton was an incredible instructor and was so helpful throughout the entirety of it! She's the sweetest can be and carries it throughout her classroom teaching, and I would absolutely recommend it if you have the possibility of taking the course in the Fairfield district! I couldn't have had a better teacher or a better class, and I was so grateful to have the opportunity to attend! ❤️Aidan Rogers

I just started my journey in the career of phlebotomy and, man o man, instructor Dan R is the best! He takes he's time with every student to make sure that they are comfortable with the procedure. For the most part in my morning class, we are all relitvly new to the field. He is encouraging and highly experienced. He makes time to answer each and every one of our individual questions and concerns. Not only does he have a family of his own, he makes us feel like his second one. He prides himself on seeing each and every one of us succeed. He goes out of his way to show us best practices that will be helpful to us in the field. Dan is the real deal and I am so glad that I am taking this course and that Dan is my instructor. The location in San Francisco is perfect as well, very commuter friendly. Highly recommend.Daranisa Achebe
If you are looking for a great phlebotomy school, this is the place to go. Dan Reisner is the best instructor I have ever met. He's the definition of what everyone wants in an instructor. Someone who's very knowledgable, good experience in the field, understanding, patient, funny, and just someone who you can rely on. Starting this program made me nervous at first because, it's literally sticking needles onto someone's arms and drawing their blood. I was considering dropping out due to the fear of not doing well but once I met Dan, he made sure that it was a safe learning environment and calmed me down and now I'm very confident in doing it even though it was only a two-week class. I'm very confident that the entire class and I will do great things as a phlebotomist and all the credit will be thanks to Dan.Nicole L
As someone who was hesitant in starting phlebotomy classes, I can guarantee that it is a rewarding experience. The instructor, Dan, has been an absolute great mentor to all of us and has helped me when I felt discouraged for a bit. You are also welcomed by an encouraging and trusting environment where you can ask as many questions as you like and learn a lot. Taking this course is a great balance between reviewing textbook material and gaining hands-on experience. Dan will always make sure your concerns are heard and will believe in you to succeed. The best part about taking this course is that he is always within reach for us students and truly helps you feel comfortable drawing blood. I highly recommend taking this course with Dan as you will find yourself growing more confident!Angela Rose Devera

Review Summary
Update: After all the trouble of addressing my health insurance, the billing claim was sent to the WRONG place. I was sent the invoices for the full amount. If they refuse to call the insurance number on the card and proceed to bill you incorrectly, what's the point of the insurance card? Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. First off, the people that work at this office are great and the app works. (1 star) However, customer service is sub par. Since the only customer service regarding your appointments are ONLY available via this app (set up, customer service chats, insurance, billing, etc.), I think this played a big role in my experience with Circle Medical. My experience to start wasn't great, because the representative I was speaking with was not trusting what I was saying and refused to call my insurance (on the insurance card that patients provide, as part of the set up). We went back and forth for hours. Luckily, a supervisor finally stepped in and went straight to calling the insurance company. The issue was resolved immediately. LESSON: speak to the Supervisor, not a Coordinator. The most frustrating thing about the Customer Service is that even if you respond within 30 SECONDS, the person who you're responding to is GONE. They don't stay to finish the conversation in one sitting. If I could resolve this by going into the office/location, I would. However, this is ONLY done via the app. Recently, they asked for pictures of my insurance card (it seems they don't keep this on file) and then told me they would give an update. They got back to me after 1.5 months to say they started the process of filing the claim. It must not be as normal as I thought for medical offices to call the insurance using the information on the insurance cards they ask patients to provide. Either that, or the customer service end of Circle Medical is lacking resources and incompetent. (reposting review without the chat messages, because the original post from 3 weeks ago was taken down)Michelle Zhang
For being an app, Circle Medical works wonderfully. There are of course limitations to it being an app – everything has to be done through the app, so if you're someone who gets frustrated by that, it isn't for you. That aside, as someone who has a unique health insurance situation, Circle Medical is the only place I could get quick, effective, and affordable treatment without spending hours calling doctors offices. In my personal experience, the staff has always been professional, warm, and timely. I greatly appreciate their services and ease of use. Updated note: A lot of your experience has to do with the doctor you end up with. Mine is Patricia Templeton PA-C, and she has been professional and warm throughout all our meetings, so I attribute much of my positive experience to her. I have had minimal issues with billing and coordinators have been helpful the few simple questions I've had, and they made it easy for me to pause treatment when I needed to.Sarah Holliday
I cannot say enough good things about this service! I'm easily able to schedule appointments, I love my provider, and it is so much better than dealing with a physical visit. No waiting, no other patients spreading germs around, and I get a visit summary each time. My prescriptions are usually ready within an hour after my visits, and the chat is very responsive if I have any questions. This is probably the only thing that can encourage me to regularly visit the doctor. I elected to use my provider as my PCP, so now everything is managed in one place. No more doctor phobia!Heather Brown

"We believe in the healing power of sweat and burn. Physical therapy is a results driven active process which requires hard work and dedication. We approach injury rehabilitation with targeted strengthening exercises that have been developed and refined by Lisa Giannone and her staff after 30 years of experience in the field."
Review Summary
I have been going to Active Care for 20+ years – as needed for post-surgery rehab, injuries, and various orthopedic health issues. Colman, Lisa, and the staff, particularly trainers, Carolyn (who keeps the place running, as well) & Daniel, have never failed me. Active Care has a very different philosophy than any other Physical Therapists that I have been to. You are initially seen by a licensed therapist and evaluated, then prescribed treatment and exercises (adding more in following sessions, as you progress). The most important aspect of your treatment is that each patient gets an individualized therapy routine. It is not a cookie-cutter shop: you have a painful knee or back, so here’s a piece of paper with the exercises to do. You are supervised with a trainer through the prescribed exercises, as needed, for each session. You are not left alone to flounder and try to remember how to do things. Someone is watching you and assisting for correct form and to be sure you don’t further injure yourself. Active Care has patients of all ages and needs, but particularly rehabs to get people back to the exercise and lifestyle that they desire, treating athletes, dancers, kids, exercise health nuts of all ages, non-exercisers, as well as the over 65’ers. You’re not on the clock at Active Care; you have the time and oversight necessary to rehab correctly. You’ll have the full commitment from the staff and the more committed you are and the harder you’re willing to work the better and quicker your progress and results will be.Ccgreen
I could not love Active Care any more! I had a severe ankle injury (talus fracture in 6 places with “significant displacement,” plus 5 months in a non-weight-bearing walking boot). I had many doctors in San Francisco and Los Angeles worried about my long-term recovery; they’d tell me to lower my expectations and murmur things about fusion surgeries and cartridge replacement. I showed up to Active Care on day 1 very nervous about my long term outlook. Colman and Ian quickly eased those nerves. They very attentively listened to my situation and developed a plan. I visited Active Care twice a week for a few months, and each time they’d ask specific questions about my pain and flexibility to further tailor my treatment. I was consistently impressed with their depth of experience and knowledge.(I was also amazed at how well everyone on their team is able to give every client such personalized care. Even on a busy day, it feels as though you’re the only client they have.) Their administrative staff is also top-notch. Out of every medical office I’ve worked with during this ankle injury + rehabilitation, the team at Active Care is by FAR the most flexible, communicative, and on-the-ball. Months later, I’m pleased to report that my ankle has recovered better than anyone expected, and I’m on the road to a full recovery. Most of that credit goes to the people at Active Care – they’ve completely changed my life. These people are the best!!Christopher Tennant
I wholeheartedly recommend Active Care. I herniated a few discs and needed PT a few months ago. I never expected to enjoy the PT and get such compassionate, expert, wonderful care. My Active Care sessions quickly became a highlight for me and every time I worked with Colman, Izzy and Carolyn I felt stronger and better – physically and mentally. No one wants to get hurt but if you do, this is the place to go. Plus, Colman is such an expert that he helped diagnose my 80+ year old Dad via zoom when doctors in NM couldn't figure out the source of his back and hip pain. Colman's ability to work with patients and meet them where they are is astounding and something I'll always appreciate. Thanks for my whole family!Caitlin Storhaug

Review Summary
Overall Unitek college was a great experience for me. Both of my teachers were there for me and answered emails in a timely manner. I don’t think I would’ve gone to the school because I do live about two hours away but Futuro health paid for it that’s why I went here. I believe everything went smoothly just until the end with my externship I had a place in mind and my coordinator basically just told me to take the first externship she chose me. It took us a while because she is not from the state and everything that she was looking was about three hours away from where I currently live. If there is one thing I could probably change from this place it would be to make it more of a in person learning because everything was pretty much on the computer except for labs one day every two weeks I did feel like I learned but I feel like I would’ve learned more if there was more in person learning then over the computer. I do feel like some teachers don’t really pay attention to the stuff because there were some places that I would leave blank and I would still get 100% on them. Overall I do recommend the school but I do feel like they are some areas it can get some work on.Stephanie Ramirez
When they say for profit they are not kidding around! The teachers have their favorites. Miss Chua has a thick accent makes learning difficult on top of her accent she sometimes gets really worked up in her lectures and begins to kind of shout and speak faster than i can follow. They lack the skill of communication. I think the only staff that knows how to properly communicatw is Sera but she is in admissions i believe. Miss Chua has made me feel like I am not a valued student and does not try her best to accomodate students. For example if you are late for an ati test she will pick a time and it doesnt matter if it fits with your work schedule outside of school. Emails, and calls do not seem to work with this set of instructors especially her. I wish Unitek would change some of their policies regarding communication between student and staff. I also wish there was more diversity on campus, SSF location lacks diversity and frankly i do not think they even celebrate other races…Hailly Green
I reached out to know more and actually start and get an education , i started talking to an admission representative named Ariel Edwards and set up appointment i unfortunately wasn't able to make it due to getting sick & taking care of my youngest sister and i had , i let her know ahead of time about my situations as well but when it came to rescheduling asking for a later time she completely ignored me & stopped talking to me , the least she could have done was straight up say she didn't want to help me anymore really unprofessional . At the end i turned to san jose unitek and My experience was amazing , i am currently enrolled and ready to start classes , for anyone wanting to enroll in a unitek college i definitely recommend san jose , they reach out to you day by day , let you know the different times you can go when setting an appointment & don't leave you hanging .Ashley Ramirez
