20 Best Medical Assistant Programs In Mesa, AZ (2022 Updated)

Not too bad of a school overall — class and professor wise. However, the enrollment and financial aid staff are horrible. Terrible and irritating process to get you set up with everything. This was back when I first started going there in 2012. Not sure if anything has improved or not. They were also VERY understaffed at the time. It took me so long to graduate as well because I would get mixed instructions from different counselors. You never get the same counselor twice. Granted I made it in 2 years but I did have to do summer classes because of the 'changes' that kept happening with my degree. The counselors are not very well trained with each degree program. It's best to literally ask your professors about it or you can get a better understanding from counselors at the University you want to attend later. The teachers I had were phenomenal! Just wish the main office staff were better at their jobs.Caitee Proulx

When we got there we weren't sure if we were going to have a really long wait in line but no what we found was the nicest people posted at the cones that they had set up for the direction you were supposed to go in. They gave excellent information and instruction and we had absolutely no problem getting through our checkpoints which they did check that you had an appointment and verified some information and then we went right straight on through and there was one car in front of us getting an injection and it just took a minute and they drove off and we pulled up and they gave us our vaccines. There were two of us in the car we both had appointments and again everyone was just really super nice very knowledgeable about what was going on. They knew their job and they did it very well. This campus is amazing and not nearly as sprawled as any of the other community colleges/universities. The engineering, mathematics, computer science, and physical science (chem/bio/physics) classes are top notch. The smaller classes sizes means you're getting more personal attention and education than ANY of the universities for any of your classes. I really mean that. Also, there is always decent parking, since the buildings are all in the center (for now). I would have finished my degree here, but it was way too far when I lived in central PhoenixLloyd Allen

As someone who isn’t from the USA and relocated from United Kingdom , it was important that I made the correct choice when it came to education in the United States , after doing my research and reaching out to different schools who have a massage program I chose gateway because from the first contact with Mr Tapscott he was super friendly , passionate and helpful , he made sure I had all the information I needed and he directed me to the right place to complete my registration to the program . The price is amazing and they definitely can charge way more for the service they provide , gateway and especially Mr Tapscott made the process so easy and comfortable . My first day of class was so welcoming and they went the extra mile to make sure I/ we students were comfortable , I had the best experience at gateway and this experience was due to my fellow classmates but mostly for the teachers attitude and pride in teaching , Mr Tapscott , ms bouer, and mr Ybarra were amazing , they are so good at what they do and the effort and dedication they put in to each and every student sets them apart from any other education opportunity I’ve taken , we created a family and this includes the teachers , they allowed us to learn at our own pace and didn’t disrespect us , they encouraged us , the material in the program was inspiring and the method of teaching made the learning fun , it was a pleasure to go to gateway for the 9 months of the program and I looked forward to seeing my teachers and classmates everyday throughout the course , the program allows for Externship which gives us the opportunity to work with others in the community also work with employers of massage therapy , it gives you an insight to what to expect after the program . This in my option gives you the experience and confidence to be successful in your future , I love Mr Tapscott and is in my opinion an amazing teacher , a kind , honest , trustworthy person who has pride in his work , he has a pride for everything he does or talks about , I couldn’t of asked for a better college to attend and I am blessed to be apart of the experience and to see people who are passionate about what they do to improve peoples lives . I recently graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Gateway. Mr. Tapscott and his team were the most supportive, inspirational, knowledgeable and humorous group of instructors I have ever studied under. Mr. Tapscott taught the online portion of the course that was heavily weighted in anatomy, physiology and introduction to massage therapy. Mr. Tapscott was always offering assistance to students and following up on financial aid, GI Bill funding, finding places to do externships, or assisting with any other issues the students may have faced. The lab portions of the class were taught by Mr. Ybarra and Ms. Bauer, both experienced massage therapists, both dedicated to successful outcomes for all the students. Mr. Ybarra is known for his demonstrations on various massage and stretching techniques during labs. All three instructors shared a great many stories of their experiences in the massage industry. This team of teachers worked very well together and created an environment where the students felt proud to be part of the class and continuously improved in their massage skills through out the course. Each teacher has a great sense of humor, will be direct if there are issues to address but they are always respectful and professional. The program was also the start of many long lasting friendships and a successful future in the massage industry for myself. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! I have been attending this school for a while. When I had enrolled I wasn’t given proper information. I do online school and I’ve been struggling with math and biology and to my surprise the instructors do not put the effort in to help other students online. I went in to speak to an advisor and low and behold she didn’t help either. I have a learning disability and stated that information to the advisor and the best answer she gave me was “unfortunately we don’t have special services for students who have disabilities” I’m in the process of getting my associates degree in DMS and no advisors informed me before I started the program that I needed to take an HESI Exam. Another thing is for students who do the online classes, students have to their webcams on to take the tests/quizzes but don’t require it during other class time such as completing assignments. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SCHOOL!!! THERE IS NO HELP WHAT SO EVER AND DONT HELP STUDENTS SUCCEED!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! And because I struggle in math, I’ve tried free Tutoring and they only available for an hour and if you need more time you need to make a new appointment. An hour gets 3 questions done and they still don’t walk you through the process.Monica Balderrama

Mesa has a lot of great classes and opportunities but there are major issues. The sign up process for classes is confusing, many of the pathways online that are supposed to show you the courses you need for degrees are incorrect. Of course you should contact advisors to figure out which classes you need, but it is nearly impossible. There are so few advisors and very little availability. As of right now it asks you to make in person appointments with them and yet there are never any slots open. You can email advising which takes 2-3 days to get a response. You can try and call their office and wait on hold for an hour just to eventually get hung up on. It is in no way the advisors faults, anyone I have actually been able to contact has been as helpful as possible, but it is so hard to get a response or any help. I signed up for courses that the online pathway said I needed only to find out that they weren't actually necessary for my degree and others were. When I went to drop the courses and add the new ones it wouldn't let me because I owe money for the courses I am still enrolled in that haven't even started yet. So, I cannot sign up for the correct courses, have no clue which classes I actually need and cannot find advisors to help. I understand during the pandemic it is difficult for universities to find staff and help, but even before COVID Mesa was still just as inefficient. Mesa just needs to improve their communication and assistance with students, it would solve so many issues.Taylor Pouncey

MCC has a fantastic non-credit program for older adults: NFLL, or New Frontiers for Lifelong Learners. For an extremely reasonable fee, I sign up for as many of the program's classes as I please. They're online, in-person, or a mix of the two. There are also some field trips; we've just gone to a free day at the Desert Botanical Gardens, and next week there will be a trip to the new one in Queen Creek for a fee. A class on WW2 planes had a trip to Falcon Field, etc. Over the last few years I've taken classes in history, tech, health, music, and much more! There are also groups for discussion, playing games, hiking for 3 different levels, etc., as well as social and service activities. In-person classes are at MCC Mesa and Red Mtn campuses usually. Some classes have been through Great Courses, and many lecturers are former teachers/professors or experts in their field. Check it out–great program at low price! Update: on-campus classes are so easy to get to: it's a small campus (either Dobson or Red Mountain), and the free parking is ample and easily accessible.Natalie Satterthwaite

So I just signed up today.. I think which is the problem. There’s like 5 people sitting at a desk “helping” people get set up but they did absolutely nothing to help me get signed up they didn’t tell me I couldn’t sign up for my class the same day as I walked in and told them exactly what class I wanted and that I never attended college before. They don’t tell me it’s some weird 24 hour wait for the account to start working and they also did not at all clarify to make sure to take the student photo because now that I chose to skip that because NOBODY helped me I’m unable to finish my application lol hice apparently if I don’t finish in 48 hours will be deleted? They also didn’t tell me that. So this has been an absolutely awful experience thus far and I haven’t even been able to join a class yet.Ryan Jorgensen

Signing up was easy, I was provided help at every step in order to insure my success when I completed my diploma, I felt confident enough to move forward with a degree. Once I completed my diploma and as I have been working on my degree I have had the best career advisor. Even though life got busy with work, school and home issues and sometimes I did not respond, my career counselor Marianne Cooper never gave up on me. I attended Brookline College online in the Medical Office Administration program. From the beginning at admission, to the instructors and career services it has been a great experience. Everyone was always willing to assist you with whatever is needed and very responsive to all communication. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Bryan University. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Advanced Professional Fitness Training and Exercise Science. The training was top notch and immediately applicable to real-world situations. All the instructors I encountered have a sincere desire to help students become successful. Since graduating, I have obtained a senior management position in a local high-end fitness club and the ability to start my own successful fitness business. I have also become an Adjunct Strength and Conditioning Instructor at my local Community College and started a fitness video-cast with a fellow Bryan University graduate. The education I received at Bryan University enabled me to become a volunteer strength and conditioning coach for a local high school football team as well as provide Pro Bono fitness classes for people who usually cannot afford such services. I just graduated from Bryan back in October with my BS in Exercise Science. I was a little bit skeptical about taking online courses, but once I got into it I found for me it was the only way to go. It fit well into my schedule, and for most mods you were in an actual online class. So you got to see fellow classmates and your instructors. Courses were challenging but not more than you can handle. I continued to work full time while completing my course work. Also, they have great instructors at Bryan University. They are very knowledgeable and were always willing to lend a helping hand if I had any questions about a class or assignment, or if I needed more help understanding a specific topic. Can't say enough about the instructors I had. I am currently a fitness director and personal trainer at a local athletic club, and also a strength coach at a local Catholic high school. Literally within a week of my graduation I got a job offer at one of the premier fitness clubs in the country. I stumbled into Bryan University unsure if I was ready to go back to school. To say I was scared would be an understatement, so many things I didn't think of prior suddenly popped up. I originally signed up to attempt my Associates degree after three years I finished with my Bachelors because of Bryan University I am now working towards my Masters. Almost every question I ever had was quickly answered by one of the amazing faculty. The interaction with my instructors made everything possible, they not only shared their knowledge in teaching us, they shared their own success and failures along their way to help us better understand the information while helping prepare us for our next steps. I absolutely love the RT program here, the instructors are probably the best I have ever had. They have super high standards, but they also help you reach those high standards. The school is a bit pricey, but you get helpful instructors, with real experience, and who are ready to assist you whenever you need it. Plus, the hands on experience in class is a huge benefit. The only two downsides is not the program itself, but the food and beverage options in the school “cafe”, and the uniforms. For the price of the program, the uniforms are very stiff, and definitely nothing close to decent quality. So, if your enrolling, make sure to put some $$ aside to buy comfortable scrubs that actually fit you. As for the cafe, it would be great to have a real coffee machine (not instant coffee), so we don’t have the need to go off campus for caffeine. Overall though, I love my program, the instructors, and the new career PIMA is helping me prepare for. I definitely would recommend PIMA to anyone who wants to actually start a new medical career!Christina Romero

This school is easy to get started at. I was admitted to the RT program immediately after taking some brief tests and completing a mock study schedule. It is not a cheap option, but the wait list for cheaper schools is two years long…so I decided to get my schooling done rather than wait. I hope that the high price of education here all goes to the instructors, because they are the only worthwhile part of attending here. The admissions staff will make whatever promises they need to make to get you signed up, even if it is something they can’t deliver. The facility and equipment is old. The programs are fast paced and will leave you behind unless you are serious about learning the material.Derek Aaron

Choosing Pima Medical Institute and their Respiratory Therapy program was one of the best decisions my family and I have made. The program was very thorough and straightforward in the teachings. The thing I enjoyed the most was the constant engagement you were able to have with the instructors. Everyone is very open and willing to help in any situation whether it was school related or just life in general. The PD is amazing and she will do everything in her power to make sure you are not only a successful graduate but you are a successful RRT for many years to come. I took the 4 week CNA program during the summer and am now certified and working in a hospital. The class was incredibly informative and prepared you tremendously for the exams. I went into my exams incredibly confident and was helped throughout the program with any questions I had. While the program itself was amazing, there were several instances that made getting my certification from the program miserable. My instructor was the sweetest woman but spent most of the time questioning her own knowledge on the topics she was teaching. We had another instructor come in to assist our class and she spent a lot of time talking down to the students for messing up simple steps on topics we were just taught for the first time minutes prior. One student had a breakdown due to being constantly ridiculed by this instructor (management was told and nothing changed) most students avoided her like the plague. The two instructors who taught my class would then bicker with each other on what was correct in front of the entire class, it was extremely unprofessional. I would recommend this program, I just hope they have talked to their team and discuss how to handle conflicts better.Hailey Carpenter

I completed my CNA program with AMTI & would definitely recommend it to anyone that's willing to commit to a few weeks of hard work. The program is fast paced but if you study & stick with it, you will succeed. It definitely feels like the course is geared towards those wanting to go into hospice, long term care, etc. but I always knew I would be going the acute route after graduation – I am now working as a nursing assistant in the ICU at a hospital here in the valley. I don't know what these reviews talking about having their money stolen are all about, it's made very clear from the beginning that if you cannot keep your grades up & be there for lectures/instruction, you will not receive a refund. My only comment for improvement is that all the instructors get on the same page, we left a lot of classes confused because one instructor would tell us one thing & another would tell us otherwise. I am so happy I went with my gut & decided to attend AMTI. I just finished my CNA weekend 7 week program & passed my state boards on the first try. I did experience some uncertainty when speaking with student services, I had some questions that I didn't feel were answered properly. I even went down to the campus for more information & I didn't leave confident that this was the right school to choose. I took a risk & went with it anyways. The instructors were absolutely wonderful. Barb E. was my skills instructor & you can tell how much passion she has for nursing and for training future CNA's and nurses. These teachers truly give you so many resources and provide you with every thing you need to pass the program and pass your state boards. I highly recommend taking your CNA training here. This is the premiere place if you are interested in getting into the medical field! I am currently in the Medical Assistant program and completed the Nursing Assistant program last year. When on externship for the Nursing, it was a night and day difference between Pima and the other schools. Pima clearly has a finger on the pulse (no pun intended) of what medical offices are looking for and delivers exceptionally. When I was looking at getting into a program, naturally I started looking at the Community Colleges given the cost. Many have lengthy waiting lists to enter and the quality of education pales in comparison to Pima. I knew of Pima and had heard good things, but thought I would not be able to afford it. After some saving I put myself through the NA program (it was $1600.00) as the US Dept. of Ed doesn't offer financial aid for such a low amount. However, being in the MA program, I was in fact able to obtain financial aid. Pima is a bit more expensive than other places. However, the programs are fast tracked because you are learning core subjects, things you will actually use in the real world. Not electives and other nonsensical classes that aim to have you be a "well rounded individual" but ultimately do a disservice as the length of time to graduate and get a job is much longer. Plus, if you're looking at the medical field, you probably have an idea of what it takes and are already pretty well rounded. I am about to turn 40. It is never too late to get into a new career! If you are looking to get on the fast track to a career and are interested in learning in a fun and focused environment, I highly recommend coming to Pima. I attended Pima medical institution to become a veterinarian assistant. I love on how they teach you in the program on what to know in order to become an assistant. The teacher Dr. Watson I love on her energy and the way she teaches the class, she can be pushy, but she never gives up on you easily. Im now working at an awesome clinic and I’m really loving my job, the veterinarians they’re very nice to work with. I’m thinking of becoming a veterinarian technician so I’ll definitely come back to Pima to attend classes soon. I started the Respiratory Therapy program in 2007, as a non-traditional student seeking some sort of career in the medical field, but having no background in medicine whatsoever. It was hands down the best decision I ever made in terms of career choices. My instructors and the Program Director were patient, knowledgeable, and so caring. I graduated and was able to find work in the field right away here in Tucson. I loved the culture at Pima Medical Institute so much that I came back 10 years later to teach, helping to educate future RTs in the field. I whole heartedly recommend PMI-Tucson nursing program. This is not your typical nursing school. Yes, it is accelerated, but they care! I am a student that travels from Phoenix every week to attend school, and both the program director Mrs. Wiebelhaus and the clinical director Mrs. Morelli regularly check-in to make sure I am doing okay. When I got sick and had to miss two weeks of class, my instructors made sure I had all the notes and homework so that I did not fall behind. This medical assistant program was everything I wanted out of a school and my education. Growing up in Hawai’i and the culture there it has become an instinct to seek out anything that feels like a community. I graduated at the beginning of February of this year and after completing 11 weeks of externship here is what I have learned: Any other MAs I work with are extraordinary at their jobs; personable, professional, HIPAA compliant, OSHA compliant, etc. They are wonderful MAs all in their own way but what I feel is profoundly different from them, their education, and the one I have gotten is knowing my scope of practice. It’s become apparent that many MAs like to be directed on what to do and when to do it for their patients, and that’s amazing, however, it is well within our scope of practice to ask questions, to advocate on our patients behalf, and to educate our patients on, not only their rights, but their medical care. My coworkers often ask me WHY I am always going to the providers and asking if a certain treatment will benefit our patient.. well, because I was given the confidence and the knowledge to know that, while I may not suggest or recommend any treatment to a patient, I CAN ask a provider if something different will help our patient. Sometimes they tell me no and every time they have it has been another opportunity to learn. In the often times they do take my inquiries under consideration, more often than not, I find that the treatment/patient care has benefited our patient 1. Because it makes them feel and let’s them know we are all in with them. 2. They are the ones who are actually in control when we’re in a room together. And 3. They just need to be reminded that simple fixes don’t always exist and it’s okay to ask/research what may work for them. It is because of The Allen School that I am not the kind of medical assistant who applies my medical knowledge to my patient.. instead, I apply every patient, their symptoms, their history, and their experiences, to my medical knowledge and build from there. Being in the medical field (especially working in womens health) is what I was born to do. Allen School and my instructors fueled my passion more everyday. I can only hope to represent them to the best of my ability and to continue being the medical assistant I would wish for every single one of my loved ones to have. Allen school is not easy, no one should attend expecting to float through the program without being challenged.. this program cultivates wonderful and highly sought after MAs for a reason. What I will say is, the education you choose could make a difference in how you care for someone’s loved one, you have to ask yourself.. do you want the best education or not? Would you want the MA you have caring for you to be as educated and prepared as they possibly can be? Allen School isn’t perfect.. but you will leave there knowledgeable, you will leave there prepared for your externship, and you will leave knowing you can return to a community that will be there for you. I would like to add that Tara Evans, the externship advisor/coordinator is an absolute god-send. She, too, was born for her position and her passion for Human Resources and matching an MA to the specialty they feel their heart is called to is unmatched. And Dr. Hunt, both an instructor and the director of the school, absolutely will call on you to show up, everyday, as the best version of yourself and.. she will always require that you can defend your knowledge. If you are not sure if this school is a good fit for you, you can tour the campus and ask the student advisor any/all questions you may have. You can come by and meet instructors and see the students in their class-setting. I have only been here for two months but my experience has been very well. The faculty has a very good depth of knowledge in their own area of practice and have a clear understanding of the Medical Assistant role. The Doctor Directing the entire program teaches some of the more challenging classes and shares real life scenarios while presenting the material to help give a better understanding that will help us grasp the subject. Each instructor is always open to answer questions in or outside the classroom. What I also like is that tutoring is available everyday after school. The school has a recognition program, where certain students are recognized for certain achievements in front of their peers every 5 weeks. The Allen school of health sciences has by far been the best choice i have made in my life. Going into the school I was nervous and excited to open the door to my career, however there was nothing to be nervous about. All the instructors and staff treat you as if you are one of their own and are willing to help you no matter what. Whether it be personal life and you need someone to talk to or if you need help academically, they are always there. My classmates have become my family and there is nothing I would change about my experience. I don't know where to begin. Being frustrated and feeling as though I am giving the runaround, trying to get my diploma and trying to get my official transcript from a school that never answers a phone call during business hours. I never had to rely on a voicemail message to get back in contact with me due to miss understanding of phones calls. I have set up a payment arrangement back in May 2021, and I was told that if I miss a payment out of six months I will have to start all over again. I have been making payments and unfortunately was told that I missed three payments but look at my account and I see they're taking money out of my account. But still won’t give me my diploma. The staff is very rude and have not sympathy or compassion about the students other are trying to make something out of themselves in life. Talking to the staff is like hopping and excepting. Staff that not willing to work with you to try to help me. I've been only help by Miss Sherry, which I was told no longer works there. She's been the only person helping me getting my diploma and trying to get everything situated. I feel frustrated disappointed disgusted and hurt that I can't even depend on the school that I thought would help me succeed in life. This is hurtful and I would not wishes upon no one else. I work so hard live alone have no family here and you're telling me that I can't get any of my transcripts or I can't get my diploma because you guys messed up on your end and you're making me suffer which is not right and unacceptable. As much as I talk about you guys school and the staff that helps me and for someone to sit there and make me feel as though it's my fault is unacceptable. Question would you want to recommend a school to someone? For me at this point I will say no because I see that they're not even trying to help at all but take my money and won't give me my diploma or my transcripts I need to speak to someone and the corporate office as a CEO or CFO that can help meMoquatin Washington

Every campus that I have spoken to someone on the phone has been rude and dismissive and not willing to help… I attended the nursing program in 2016…completed one semester…and had to withdraw from the second (before it started) because My son was having health issues. They told me to come back whenever I wanted that they would gladly accept me back into the program where I left off… which was absolutely not true! When I tried to go back….i was told I could be accepted into the current semester…Which would have been fine except….they were changing the curriculum the following semester…Which if I would have gone back would have forced me to start all over again…. Also, When I asked If I would be able to have a financial credit for the first semester that I completed because they changed the curriculum, I was told to speak with the head of the nursing dept and then she told me that was a question for financial aid who then referred me back to the nursing dept head…and they both said that they couldn’t help me. Don’t waste your time nor effort here. $24,000 down the drain for absolutely nothing! And not only that, But when you try to have your transcripts sent, it takes forever to actually get a hold of someone…and with the rude staff on the phone at every single campus it’s ridiculous!Melissa Kloess

I’m so happy I came across the Arizona College of Allied Health on google. I requested to receive more information about the college and not even a few days later I get a text from Justin. Justin was very nice and gave me so much information that helped me decide this was the college for me. Before I came here I was at Community Colleges for the last 5 years completing only prerequisites not even in a program yet. When Justin told me I would graduate next year in July getting my DA diploma I was beyond excited. I can’t thank Justin enough for all his help. I just got done with my first track passing all my classes. I could have not done it without Ms. Vosteen. She is the best teacher I’ve ever had at all the schools I’ve been to. I am going to miss being in her classes but I am so excited to continue my journey. When I found Pima, I was still trying to finish high school. A friend told me that Pima could help me with that. So I decided to schedule the appointment and meet with admissions. Walking through the front door of Pima, you're greeted by the most friendly people with such welcoming smiles. Everyday, I walk through the doors to go to class and I always get a "Hi Hannah!" from Melissa at the front desk. It always makes me smile. I met with Mandy for my admissions meeting and as we started to talk about me and why I was there, I began to get emotional. She listened. She let me cry. And she helped me find a way to start my journey. And I couldn't thank her enough. When I went into Pima that day, I didn't think it was going to be a program I'd finish. I hadn't finished anything yet. So I didn't see this working either. Boy, was I wrong! After meeting with Mandy, I got to meet Stacey, the director. She was amazing! We talked and laughed and she helped me feel so welcome at Pima. It took me less than a month to finish the half of high school I needed because this team at Pima had my back. They checked on me and made sure I had the help and support I needed. And even invited me to a graduation ceremony to show me that even though I wasn't graduating a Pima program, it still mattered that I graduated! Mandy helped me find a program that fit my personality. And now, I'm 2 weeks away from starting my externship in Phlebotomy. Mrs. Tracey is an absolutely wonderful teacher! She has taught us all how to safely and correctly perform Phlebotomy. She's the best teacher I have ever had. She supports us and cares about us. I am currently in the Vet Assistant program here at Pima!!! I have not been in school for 25 years so I was really nervous and hesitant to start. I must say I am so happy I did. Choosing Pima has been the greatest decision I’ve ever made. Miss Lori was amazing with my prerequisite classes. Perfect dentist office… If that’s imaginable yes, this one’s perfect!! The staff is great! I had to have a tooth extracted and they did an awesome job I didn’t even feel the injections. Due to a traumatic injury back in 1968, I’ve had a “fear” of dental work. I thought I had a cracked filling that needed replaced, and needed a crown. I asked around our RV Resort as to who to see, My Dental was recommended by several people. When I googled them looking for reviews, I couldn’t find one legitimate bad review. They sounded almost too good to be true. I called and made an appointment, the day of my appointment I drove up to the door with considerable anxiety. In front of me in the parking space was a sign with my name on it welcoming me as a new patient! All my anxiety disappeared. When I walked inside, every single lady behind the counter greeted me like a new friend, they explained their business procedures, and gave me a short tour of the facility. By the time I met Dr. Zach, I was so mellow they could’ve removed my kidney and I would’ve felt good about it.😁 After Dr. Zach did his assessment, he quickly determined that my filling was fine, and that more than likely I had bit down on something hard and bruised that tooth. I ended up having my teeth cleaned instead, and scheduled another appointment with them in six months. I’m 62 yo, these folks are the best I’ve ever dealt with.Steve Clark

I loved going to AIDA! The staff went above and beyond to assist my classmates and I even when the pandemic hit the world which happened in the middle of my class. The teaching is incredible with teachers who have so much experience and they love you and want to help in every way possible. Andi was my teacher and I'm so grateful for the things she taught me and for being so natural with us and teaching with love. I also went though a really tough medical trial the week of finals and they made it possible for me to still take finals and graduate. They continue even months later to check in on me and see how my dental career is going and provide me with any resources to be where I'd like to be. I can't say that being in the dental field was ever something I contemplated until I tagged along with my husband to tour this school. I immediately saw the opportunity and wanted to be apart of it. This school helped me right from the start. From helping me obtain a grant from the state, all the way to sending me numerous job openings after I graduated, this school staff ( Holly and Brenda) are amazing! AIDA is truly one of the greatest education experiences I’ve ever had. The instructors are phenomenal; they are passionate about what they do and they care for the success of their students. The course’s hands on approach ensures that students leave the program with skills and confidence to assist dentists chair-side. The course is fast, but manageable, and the connections you make with other students and staff leave you with wanting more. With the help of AIDA I was able to land a job one week before my program had ended (they are literally just that good guys!!). Horrible horrible experience. Lack of empathy towards students. Laurie in particular is absolutely horrible at her job. I don’t know her job title or if she even has a degree but, she made me and my families life very stressful. Finding a nursing school should be exciting, but this was a nightmare. It started by calling multiple times and the school not having a profile saved with my information. Laurie, I had to give you my information every time I spoke with you until I was assertive enough to ask if you or someone could possibly create me a profile? Then, before I knew that I guess Arizona College only allows you to get your questions answered by one person, I spoke with another “Admissions Advisor” because I was tired of constantly texting and never could get a reply. I expressed that I would have preferred a phone call. It’s kind of nice to actually speak to someone over the phone especially, when you’re about to make a life changing decision. I just wanted a phone call to see where things were and get the answers I needed. Texting isn’t clear and at that point in the admissions process a phone call should have taken place. Laurie appeared to get upset and stated “I was told you don’t like me and don’t want to work with me?” This is very unprofessional. I was being gossiped about and started to feel there must be bonuses or possible commission involved. I felt like I was in a ran down car lot being pushed to buy a car I didn’t want. All Laurie’s concern was for me to sign the application. She was never enthusiastic about starting nursing school. Something along the lines of “come in and take a tour with your family and see what our campus has to offer. I can also help clarify any questions or concerns you and your spouse may have.” Instead it was always arguing back and forth with her. It was ridiculous! The biggest thing is that I was given the run around multiple times, this was extremely stressful. I was told one thing one minute and another the next. This is why I called someone else to get clarification. I felt Laurie is incompetent. It’s important to know the handbook and what the admissions process consists of. First she wanted this document. Turns out it had to be a different document. Then, she lost the email and asked if I could send another document. Turns out none of the documents worked after being told they would. I was never offered a tour of the school, rarely got a return phone call, texted all day, treated with rudeness, given the run around daily, etc. For a $100,000 degree I expect to have an actual Admissions Advisor helping me through my admission process. I’m not that hard to please and I’m a humble person, but this is uncalled for. Get to know the handbook and what the state or school actually requires for admissions instead of having me do the work to track down and pay for documents that once again won’t work. An advisor that remembers my name, treats me with respect and kindness, and someone who has a profile set-up with my information so that every time we reconnect she has my information in front of her would have been ideal. I shouldn’t have to explain what we just talked about more than 3x. Names of colleges attended, my excellent GPA, my current degrees, reminding her I already sent my transcripts, my current career, reminding her of my name, etc. I'm so glad it didn’t work out. I want a school that supports me and somewhere where I feel secure. If the admissions process is like that then, I can’t imagine how I’m suppose to keep a solid B through the whole BSN program with faculty like that. Absolutely the most stressful admissions process from any school I have looked into. I’m so glad it didn’t work out. Everything happens for a reason. I don’t want to help them improve their graduation rates. I will take my degree in Medical Assisting, 8 years of medical field experience, 1 1/2 years of nursing pre-reqs, and my excellent GPA to a school who values me and my compassion for helping people and saving lives.Lacey Newton

Where do I start!! I submit an inquiry for information about the accelerated BSN program on a Sunday Night. I filled out information for GCU and Arizona College of Nursing. I spoke with Laurie from Arizona College of Nursing **the next day**, and I don’t even remember the name of the person I spoke with at GCU. The minute I spoke with Laurie, she led the way. She helped me get my starter ducks in a row to begin the process for enrollment. She provided all the resources needed to get everything going for the August 31st class. I truly believe that the schools 3-year BSN program and Laurie are the two key points to my decision. As soon as I was in, I was in. She didn’t let me go, she followed-up with me consistently to ensure I was ready and had everything I needed to be successful. I was scheduled for my HESI-A2 test that Friday, passed and have been happy, grateful, excited ever since. The school is very hands-on and engaged to make sure you have what you need and the tools to be successful. Also Ms. Amanda at the front desk is amazing! She’s a total sweetheart and is there for anything you need just as all the other staff members are. Ms. Jardee is also phenomenal! I mean I could go on but I would literally be here forever. They have workshops, laptop programs for an affordable price, with so many more resources and benefits to make sure you are on the right track. Bottom line is, if you’re thinking about enrolling- DO It! And if you’re choosing between Arizona college of nursing and another school, go with Arizona college of Nursing because you will not regret it!!Fatima Nimes

Please do not apply to this school ! Do not apply to the Phoenix campus or the Tempe campus . They only take in students of color to meet the government’s diversity quota for government based grant . They treat students of color like garbage . They actually hired racist , hateful professors like professor Nicole Solomon ! they are bullies. You’ll often see a professor yelling and insulting their students in front of a class like it’s normal . The Dean of nursing and the professors pick their favorites and if you do not fall on that list , good luck to you and your mental and emotional ! This school has to be the worse school I have ever attended! I’m a student transfer from a different state which I attended Carrington college. I recently relocated back to Az in hopes to finish nursing school here. I struggled where I came from trying to work only as needed so I can go full time in nursing school. Where I’m from classes were only offered during the day. I moved back to Az so I can work full time again and attend classes in the evenings. I lost almost everything I had where I was because of not working Harley any hours. Here, I can attempt to pay bills by working full time days and still go to classes in the evenings. I put in 4 out of 6 semesters with Carrington. The Mesa campus director, Antonio Thompson, took that from me. I pay out of pocket because I have exhausted my financial aid on a different degree that still pays very little. Young, and thinking I was doing the right thing many years ago, as the first to go to college in my family, I attended a private school which ate up my financial aid. Little did I know that there was only so much FA you can borrow to get through your bachelors. Antonio Thompson made a decision to not enroll me because of a balance I cannot afford to pay up front. I struggled to make payments. It’s not easy to survive on your own with no other income and attend nursing school, and because I can’t pay up front, he took my dream and life away. I’ve been depressed ever since. I’ve been in healthcare 20+ years and I know I would be an outstanding RN. I’ve worked in the ICU and managed in healthcare. It’s amazing how an individual wants to make a life for themselves and just be educated can be told no… basically you’re not good enough for us to educate you because you can’t afford it. I’m not trying to get free education. I’m trying to better my life so I can pay all my bills, including my student loans.Kat

Unprofessional. Went to school here in 2018 but couldn’t finish it off. I contacted them a little over a YEAR ago so I can restart my path. Was in touch with Ernesto and out of nowhere stop receiving replies. I sent emails left messages and even went to the school. Every time was promised to be contacted. But I didn’t know it would take A WHOLE YEAR! Ernesto just contacted me today, a whole year later after I first inquired about the school. No thank you. First semester was great. Second and third had so many staffing issues. Teaching was inconsistent and had professors leave and be replaced mid way through. The financial aide department is a complete mess. I received three different financial plans from three different financial planners stating that after financial aid, I owed out of pocket ranging from $1600- $19000. A little bit of discrepancy there. Two stars. One for my enrollment advisor, Maribel and second semester. Other than that , the staff and quality of instruction we received in the third semester leaves much to be desired.George Ruiz

After finding out that I had a buldging disc in c3-c4 and having really bad neck pain and headaches daily I decided to try chiropractic care in hopes it would alleviate some of the pain. I saw many chiropractors with no relief so I resorted to having a cervical epidural injection done and after that failed to help I had to find other options. I did not want to do surgery, so after doing some exploring I landed on The Center For Total Back Care. I did some research on their website and saw they have a machine called the Med X which helps strengthen the muscles. I ended up finding them on YouTube and watched the machine in action. At this point I had nothing to lose and went In. I met with Dr. Jolly and he explained my muscles could be a big part of the problem for my buldging disc and explained if I got the neck muscles stronger it should help alleviate my pain and keep me from surgery. At this point I've been going for 4 weeks and have very minimal pain and almost no headaches! I love going in and using the machine to strengthen my neck and I can most certainly feel it the next day. My neck will be sore, but in a good way and I know it's helping my situation. Armando is awesome and will make sure you are working those muscles to get the maximum benefit, so don't try to slack! I am grateful for finding them and it has helped tremendously! I have been suffering from degenerated L5-S1 for over a decade. About 8 years ago, a neurologist referred me to Total Back. It was unlike any of the many physical therapy clinics I had ever visited. The staff and especially the MedX therapy machine were transformative. The degenerated L5-S1 is still with me, but my suffering was gone after the treatment. I maintained my back strength for 6 years with self-guided gym work outs, but a botched hip replacement surgery combined with pandemic restrictions on gyms interfered with that, and combined with aggravation from a too-low, too stiff sports car put me in the ER. Doctors at Barrows confirmed that my spine had not changed too much, so after the omicron wave I went back to Total Back, where the MedX machine confirmed MRI findings that my back muscles were significantly atrophied. Within 8 weeks I am now feeling much better, and the MedX machine has stimulated significant increases in my lower back muscle strength. I am looking forward to continuing my treatments and getting back being as well as possible.John Mardinly

The staff members at The Center For Total Back Care are amazing, friendly, and genuinely care about your health. From day one, I felt that they were very concerned for my well-being and my recovery. They took the time to get to know me and my needs. When I came in the first day, I could barely walk because I had so much lower back pain. They evaluated and created a plan for my rehabilitation and have been flexible with my schedule, throughout the healing process. One thing that has made a difference in my quick recovery is the treatment given by the staff. They use The MedX machine which specifically works and strengthens the weak area where the pain is coming from. It has made all the difference in the world. I am in LOVE with this school. Before this school, i had gone to 2 different community colleges and 1 university all for different things. I kept failing, and felt like i was at my lowest and I felt as though I would never succeed at anything because I thought I was too dumb. I am 23. So I was frantically trying to figure out what to do. March 28, 2022 I dropped out of college for the last time. A couple days later, I came to UEI, did a tour, fell in love, and enrolled in Dental Assisting. I came in knowing next to absolutely NOTHING about dental. I was scared! I usually get horrible grades in school, I graduated high school in 2017 with a barely passing GPA. I started 3 weeks later on April 26, 2022. Let me just say, I just started my FIFTH month of school already and each month I've been here, I've gotten HONOR ROLL! I couldn't believe it. I am thriving so well in this school and every single employee and student I've met are so nice. We are all like a giant family. If it wasn't for Marcella in the office or how good this school is, I wouldn't be at this school. Marcella gave me my first impression of this school, and It was fantastic. She is the nicest woman I've ever met and she hypes me up! I have an interview coming up for a dental assistant position! I have learned so much at this school. I know so much now. Mr. Davis is an EXCELLENT instructor. Class is never boring with him around. I am a hands on and visual learner, so I never get bored or tired in class. But in high school, or my previous colleges, I got sleepy after sitting at the desk for 30 minutes. I am thriving at this school, and I'm honestly so sad that I will be done by January. UEI in Phoenix Arizona is a joke! The HVAC program is not organized. The instructor is always out. It is not enough hands on. They make you pay while your in school and then you have to turn around and pay for the other loans after you graduate. I get it after you graduate, but while your in school trying to better yourself is insane! And it is not cheap.You can never get a professional person on the phone. The job fair was horrible! The medical program is what makes UEI, but he HVAC program is horrific! My son is honor roll haven't missed a beat, he has honor roll certificates all over the house. He comes home discouraged and when I here him sayI went to school for nothing it feels like he is wasting all this time and money and have not learned anything, But the minimum. Most of his learning is online more than hands on. this is a hands on job.. Why so much online.you certainly can't learn by someone talking all the time. At the rate UEI is going.I wonder will he be able to find a job when he graduate. He was once excited maybe two months in. Then afterwards his whole attitude changed. I encourage all who is deciding to get in this program. Please take your time and check out other colleges and make sure the instrucror is there and make sure your child does not have to worry about paying on a loan while in school. this is very frustrating to the student.. There's something suspicious about the financial aid disbursement at this school. I haven't figured it out but I know when I started here I had my own home and 2 cars and that was in Feb of 2021. I still haven't received my certificate yet for medical billing and coding and I now am homeless living in a shelter with my daughter We have absolutely nothing and I receive harassing phone calls almost everyday from corporate stating I owe $3000 I wish I would've never enrolled here at this school. I just want my certificate already it's long overdue but I can't seem to finish my externship hours because there's one thing after another that stops me Personal opinion, THIS SCHOOL IS A JOKE AND A FRAUD Go to another school not this one It's just been a disappointment for me, I feel like I went to school studied so hard for absolutely nothing This school hasn't helped me better my life one bitPaulette Mendoza
