Southeastern College offers the best Medical assistant program with the greatest professors, one of which to whom I am forever grateful. Dr. Brian Dickens is a wonderfully influential person who always leaves students ready to enter their career. He has helped open doors and provided me with the skills that allowed me to continue my education in the medical field. His friendly yet professional teaching style made the class very interesting and fun for all the students, not to mention he has a great since of humor that always gave us a smile in the classroom. The motivation that drives him to master a topic was channeled into building his students' interest and helping them understand the material. Overall, the experiences that Dr. Dickens motivated me to pursue, along with the skills he taught me in and out of the classroom, have now helped me to obtain my dream. I have read so many of these reviews and they compelled me to write one of my own. I was a student at SEC in 2016, where I pursued my career in Medical Assistant. My teacher was Mr Brian Dickens. Of a fact, Mr Dickens is one of the best teachers I ever had. He goes above and beyond to ensure that his students grasp what is being thought and he's willing and ready to share his knowledge and experiences. He makes his class fun and something to look forward to each day. Even after graduation he still sends us articles on how to be a good MA. He ensures that we are equipped for the job ahead. Because of this, I got a job immediately after my internship. I am still at that job..Way to to Mr D. Also, the faculty staff at SEC is the best. They are very helpful and make themselves available to assist in any area. I love SEC. So I started online in September of 2018, and transferred to campus classes in September 2019. I absolutely LOVE the small class size, and staff for the most part is awesome. Mr. Brian Dickens is a PHENOMENAL instructor, and it is obvious that he cares about his students. He takes the time needed to make sure that you understand the materials, and consistently stays active in everything that we are doing, including allowing us to practice on him to make sure our techniques are appropriate. I would recommend this school to anyone who appreciates smaller class sizes and teachers that care. There is definitely a sense of family within the classes, and it's awesome to have the same teacher throughout my time on campus. I sent my residency information two weeks ago and nothing is in my file! Classes start today but I can’t start because they have tuition as out of state. Also they had to have my JU transcripts as if the credits transferred because of a policy. I’m no longer going to this school. It’s bootleg and ghetto. They are slow about admissions process and don’t reach out about what we need. Even in the student portal there’s nothing that said I needed anything or that my residency information wasn’t received!No Name

Online school at Saint Johns river state is especially a scam but all the saint johns state college schools are trash. Online classes besides a select few are all run through third party sources in which u have to pay hundreds for on top of the already pricey classes in which the teachers do not do a single thing but wait for weeks after to grade assignments that aren’t auto graded by bots it’s crazy almost like these online teachers have a passive incomeVan Rippon

So far they've been able to help me with every problem I've had. I've only taken a few classes so far, but all of my professors have been great. This University is not a safe place to send your child if you care about them and their safety. I spent two semesters living on campus, my freshman year and they were the worst months of my life; communal bathrooms are not clean, things are broken often and do not get fixed, and security cameras are few and far between. The campus itself is not in a good neighborhood, which is a common fear of most people. Administration has done nothing to make the campus safer, there are not any cameras in parking lots, the cameras in the municipal parking garage do not work, and people are able to walk on to campus even if they do not attend the school. Young children steal student's bikes in broad daylight and grown adults walk onto the campus as well. The cafeteria food is not good and the staff is 99.9% of the time very rude, and you may get a plate of food thrown at you even if you are polite. I have witnessed people be served raw chicken, romaine lettuce when there was an E. coli outbreak, and also contract E. coli. The Bursar's office constantly removed and added money to my account saying one day I owed X amount of dollars and then one day I owed Y amount of dollars, and whenever I asked why my balance fluctuated during the semester, they had no answer. Financial aid is not easy to deal with especially if your family makes a mid-range income. If you household income is low or very high, do not expect to pay a lot per year. The social environment is like high school: judgmental and everyone stays in their own "clique" The only reason I will give this "university" a 2-star review is because the professor's do care about you and your success. They will work with you, and help you when need be. Every professor I had only wanted their students to succeed, and nothing else (with the exception of a woman who just had graduated from college and did not know the subject which she was teaching).Ashlynne Donovan

This school is one of the best veteran friendly schools in the U.S. currently we are in the top 100, we even have our own USO sponsored lounge called the defenders den where we can be around fellow veterans. The classes here are incredible and the professors genuinely care and thrive off interaction. You will not become another gear in the chain at this university, also the campus even though small is absolutely gorgeous. The worst school ever! I did a year at JU and lived on campus! there is nothing to do! You will be bored out of your mind if you are from the north. The staff was unhelpful, and forget about getting any extra financial help. I come from a one parent house hold and my mom lost her job I went into the aid office to see if they can help me with any extra aid and all they could offer was goods from the food pantry. Horrible experience!! Everybody is supposed to be young adults however my daughter was bullied and they did nothing!!! Correction, when my daughter made threats to her tormentors so they would back off the school had a officer call me and she began yelling at me, really verbally assulting me about how bad of a mother I was! This woman was completely disrespectful. They called DCF on me and the guy who shows up at my house says the principle remarked that I sounded lethargic during our phone call which made me feel like she was suggesting that I didn't care or was high (which btw I am a single mom working a full time job overnight while school personnel are sleeping only to come home in enough time to get my kids ready and off to school before I can sleep!!!!!😑) 2 days after the incident they removed my daughter from school and baker acted (put her in a mental institution against her will) her!!! They told me this after they did it so I had to find her. At least the male officer who took her to the institution was careful with his words and respectful towards me. She was alone and scared in a locked room for 2 days without her shoestrings, bra (her underwire is considered a weapon) or phone before being evaluated and immediately released after their psych doctor found nothing wrong with her. It was tearfully agonizing for us; Meanwhile her bullies got to remain in school UNPUNISHED and the school personnel involved never apologized for what they put us through. The end result was another blow to her confidence and ability to trust people and she stopped going to classes to get prepared for her GED. Please consider our nightmare before enrolling your child as this was the best path they chose to handle my child's situation. I swear I don't know how they sleep at night knowing how they failed her!! EDITED: Your response is incorrect. This happened to my daughter at the mid florida oakridge campus a few years back. I went in today on April 20th to register for school the man at front desk was not a greeter of new students at all. He was on the phone and acted as if his personal phone conversation was more important than being of any assistance to providing me with what the school offered. He wasn't informative of what the school offered. I went to ask he a question and he acted as if I was a bother too him while being rude to others as he spoke to them. He replied very rudely when I told him that I needed his undivided attention to explain too me about the program. He goes WHAT DO YOU NEED! I TOLD HIM IT SEEMS LIKE YOUR PHONE CALL IS MORE IMPORTANT! I applied online, did all the steps and applied for FAFSA but couldn’t get ahold of anyone there. They let the phone ring until they finally send it straight to voicemail. Someone picked up first ring but all I heard was a woman breathing and mumbling to herself completely ignoring me after I acknowledged myself multiple times. I appreciate Rasmussen University for having an abundance of resources and many professors and other staff members who demonstrate they want students to succeed. I especially have enjoyed being a peer educator, being privileged to work with Tammy Hopps who is an excellent supervisor and leader, and also being able to work with other peer educators who care for their peers as much as I do. I transferred from a local state college, which I considered sticking with to save money, but in reality, not much is saved when you compare the timeframe for graduation. At the state college it would take me an extra 2 whole years to receive my BSN, whereas at Rasmussen I save 2 years of time because of their second-degree BSN option. I am very pleased with the quality of technology – at the state school blackboard and other resources were slow and did not work as well on my cell phone, whereas with Rasmussen I can easily access everything I need from my phone when I'm on the go. It's inspiring to see so many single parents and married parents in school, some of which also work full time or part time like myself while completing their degree. I had such high hopes when enrolling at this school. However my experience hasn't been favorable at all. I am a current student and I was disappointed because even though I was able to enroll and start classes I really felt unsupported on this journey. I'm realizing Rasmussen may not be the school for me. I REALLY thought I would be supported and encouraged. I was made to feel that Rasmussen would be rooting for me through my academic journey. Instead I am bombarded with emails and calls telling me what I already know… I owe money. No calls or emails about how I can be helped to budget so that I can pay more toward the balance. I'm only being told: what I owe, to get the balance down to $500-$1000 and to take out loans; which will only put me in debt and it's too early to be taking out loans when I've been in school since September of 2021 and have 2 more years. Also this school doesn't cater to single parents, limited income and individuals that HAVE to work. This school ONLY has day classes for the nursing program and as I said before I HAVE to work full time.Sherria Clark

This morning I called the university for the North Orlando Campus for the Nursing program and spoke to the director of Nursing who was discusstingly rude on the phone. I called to get information, He had no patience and told me Not to proceed a career in Nursing because it was Not for me. This was a university that I was so excited to be a part of and be a graduate of Nursing. The director needs to be Fired because he is giving the university a bad reputation. I am a current student here. Next month I will be going on my extern. Honestly, this school was not what I expected due to the fact that I went to another MA school years prior to enrollment here. I want to say that Ms. Henson is by far the best knowledgeable MA teacher at the school. I learned a few things that I did not already know. The only thing I would say that I did not like about this school is how the curriculum is set up. First module, which is 4 weeks, you take certifications like CPR, HIPPA OSHA. Then you take 9 modules which is blended with other students. From there until you complete it's 2 hours lecture and 2 hours lab broken down into categories such as cardiology, geriatrics, pediatrics etc. In lab you do the skils pertaining to that subject. Most of the time it's in lab you don't have time to practice to be comfortable doing it on your own. I feel the other school was easier because the first 3 months I learned the body systems and CPR, OSHA, HIPPA and we got quizzes on what we learned. The last 6 months was lab. This gave us plenty of time to practice skills and be comfortable doing them. At Altierus, there is no quiz except the weekly homework that most of the time you cannot find answers in the book and the teacher never discussed it. So I end up wasting time on a timed quiz looking for the answer.And 2 hours of lab does give a lot of time practicing skills. I got all A's in each module. I think that's because I already work in the medical field and I went to another school as well. Do I think I would have learned anything here? Not as much. I think the curriculum really needs be revised only because it's a lot of information and 4 hours is not enough.Tacara Brown

This university scammed me out of 10,000$, I was never even able to receive a mecical license because of past criminal history. They charged me for a background check before I began my program and postponed starting my classes for clearance. I asked several guidance counselors and instructors when I received a substantial amount of money back from a grant I was applicable for. If I should begin the expungememt so it would be completed before I graduated. Everyone said not to worry and to invest in my new career. If they can take advantage of you they will. Update 11/09/2018 In response to the review above from the school. A defensive tone asking me to contact a 1-800 call center for help, making many claims at their irresponsibility stating that they are not an employer and are in fact an educational institution. It also mentions that they fully inform students at the difficulty of being hired by an employer with a record. As an educational institution it is required to understand the laws correlative to programs you offer towards state licensure. It is illegal to trade massage for money without a state license. Is that the difficulty you refer to graduates? I passed my state licencing exam, yet still have no licence. I am on my way, no thanks at all to practicing illegally as implied by this institution.David Durant

I’m glad I choose Altierus career college to obtain my dental assistant diploma. The staff were very supportive even tho my first language is not English. Ms Barnaby is a excellent teacher she has a lot of experience as a dental assistant she will give you some tips so you can work better assisting a dentist. I learn a lot from her and believe me every tips she’ll show you will help you a lot in your career to be better at your work. They have a lot of hands training which you really need so you get used to how offices perform out there. I graduated at the end of 2019 first job, is where I learn more about assisting amazing doctor but the pay was very low, but I get it I just graduated so I let it pass now I moved from Florida to NY and my EFDA is still acceptable dentist didn’t have a problem with that. All you need is to learn how to do your job and then you can ask for your price how value you think you are for the company. I learn a lot in this college and I’m so grateful for Ms. Barnaby for all her tips and help. Now I only have two years experience and I’m one of the highest pay on my area. Do not waste your time! As a young an aspiring Physical Therapist, this school is a joke. I realized this after graduating and being over 100k in debt. I excelled in all my classes and was promised easy work placement and then realized that this school is nothing it promises. It is 1 – NOT ACCREDITED; 2 – HAS NO RESOURES IN PLACE TO HELP FIND PLACEMENT; 3 – HAS NO ALUMNI NETWORK; 4 – HAS AN OWNER THAT IS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT HIS BOAT THAN THE PHYSICAL RESOURCES OF THE UNIVERSITY. I had to make sure I was reading the comments from the correct school. This school is an absolute joke. DO NOT GO HERE! I feel as if the people that are reviewing the school have attended the school for about a month and they still have high hopes. Don't. Lol. We paid over $10,000 to take OPEN BOOK QUIZZES for the first 8 months. The school was not at all challenging I feel as if I cheated my whole way through the course. Yes, I did read. I still study with the books that I have today. Save your money and just take some online courses or find free courses. We changed instructors very often so the teaching style and tempos were very off. If I could go back, I would not at all go here. To put the icing on the cake, they tried to take credit for ME obtaining a job that they did not help me secure. I applied through Indeed, landed a job, and received a call a while later informing of something along the lines of "accreditation" and "Did FCC help me land the job" lol NO. It was not because of my experience with the school either. I had prior work experience. I could go on and on. Just don't go here. Go to HCC if you really want to go to school. I am only giving two stars because I created good memories there… with a man that I met while in class and now we gave a family. 😊 Now that my rant is done. The school has great potential. I didn’t want to write this review because the the staff was great to me but what happened to be here was very discouraging. But definitely read the reviews and don’t rush into places.. I started the Medical Assisting program My instructor Mrs.Bowling was amazing. Lisa with administration was amazing and Miss.T in financial aid was also amazing. Tho I took my tests which made me eligible for my classes after a few weeks in the program and all the progress I’ve made they give me a call one morning letting me know my test scores are lost or were uploaded wrong on they’re part and I’m not able to come back to school until I retake the test because there was nothing they could do about it and on top of that I would have to restart my WHOLE ENTIRE course and wait for they’re new program to start so I would come in as a new student. It’s very discouraging and disappointing after I’ve pushed myself to finally go back to school and find a career and it all being “crushed” because of the schools mistake that no one would take responsibility for as I was told. I’m not an employee there and I would be PAYING THEM and RESTARTING everything to fix THEY'RE mistake. I went here for the EFDA program. It was one of the best experiences I've had. The instructors for the program are truly amazing and the best. Mr.B will sit with you untill you truly understand and grasp what he is teaching you, Mrs.Dee is very patient and one of the most kind people you will meet. Miss.V, I think had the most impact on me, this instructor… It's almost hard to put into words just how amazing she is. She saw the potential in me that I never knew I had. I don't understand some of these bad reviews…. Even if I had a issue that my instructors couldn't help me with Miss.Laura would sit and help untill it was solved and Mr.Jim would do the same. I'm in and almost done with my externship now and Mr.Mike who helped me get to my extern office will help you every step of the way. I learned so much in my time at FCC not just about dental but about myself too. I've not only gone on interviews but, I've had a a ton of dental offices reach out to me and want to hire me as well. I am giving this School as a whole 3 stars with the exception of the the higher authority the school is expensive even after you get your student loan you still could owe up to 4000 out of pocket the President is an exceptional person understanding and VERY motivating however we are offered only 2 tickets to the graduation so if your out of town and have support they will not be able to share this moment with you which is who we do it for it sucks having to tell your family they can’t attend this elite moment in your life especially when you have 20,000+ plus debt to pay out to them the instructors there are amazing excluding The head instructor is down talks the rest of the instructors and look down on the students that are taught By then it’s very discouraging to hear that she speaks so bad about the next person when it’s all about empowerment I think her name is Ms Johnson after hearing from one of her student who changed from her class because of the way she spoke on other instructors and their students is was a discouraging moment for me and other students but we had a great instructor and if I could do it all over with her I would Big ups to Ms Blackshirre because the way she teaches is the way I learn she is forever my reason for completing this program because there are plenty of times I wanted to give up and she was not taking that standing ovation to you ma’am… It is very sad that my siblings and nieces and nephews and grandparents aren’t able to share this special moment with me if I had know when I signed up I would have never went to this school I would have gone to an more accredited school and got my associates 😔 Good job staff and PresidentLatisha Lopez

Let's see where to begin. I am a former employee at FCC but they are also called UEI and US colleges. The 1st thing I noticed when working there the amount of unnecessary emails you get from everyone that works for FCC UEI and US college and the corporate office, about over of 100 hundred emails. The 2nd thing is the amount of meeting you have attended almost every two hours. And let's not forget that these meetings are not to motivate you, but rather make you feel small and tell how much of a horrible job you're doing. Beacuse in one hour you were not able to enroll a student. The director of admissions Mrs. MOORE will threaten to send you home without pay, she will threaten to fire you, she will call you lazy and pathetic or good for nothing, just because you can not book an appointment or enroll a student. To FCC it doesn't matter if you are homeless or can not afford school, they will enroll you no matter what. The work environment is very hostile and just not a good environment. They are always hiring on indeed.com but apply with caution ⚠️ 😉 😄, I wouldn't recommend this school to work for or even to go school there as student.Kevin Azizi

As a student I suggest you go to a regular community college get an associates. Then transfer to a University. When I went there seemed like it’d be a great opportunity seeing I’ve been working to get back into school. But the office folks seemed reluctant to actually work with me. The process was not being done in chunks. It did not seem logically scheduled so all and all I give the program 2 stars seems like it can be helpful for maybe some people who wants to just rush back into school but seemed like they wanted me to use my student tuition for the school more than actually help me. Don’t waste your time. Go to a student advisor in lone star or HCC and then work with them from there. They should be able to help you. Or just work to get into a better vocational school. The best self care wellness center in Jacksonville! ⭐️ Seriously, everything about Degree Wellness is top notch. From the welcoming staff to the many self-care treatments and everything in between make this place one of a kind. I’ve experienced the sauna, full body chryo, and dry float. What I really like is that each of the rooms has a poster that highlights the benefits of the therapy. Don’t look at this as a cost, but rather, an investment in you to become the best, healthiest version of you! Give them a visit and experience self care like you never have before.Emanuel Premate

This was my first time visiting Degree Wellness as well as my first time using an infrared sauna. The experience was very nice! The ladies working at the front were very nice and informative. The sauna itself was equipped with different lighting options, different health program settings, and had a tablet that allowed you to play music or Netflix. I would definitely recommend and will be back in the future. One recommendation I would make is to not be the first sauna appointment of the day only because it took a little bit longer to fully heat up.Meredith Brammer

I went to Degree Wellness for a IV wellness infusion and to try out the cryotherapy full body service. My functional medicine doctor recommended these services to me because I’ve been suffering from post viral fatigue syndrome. I’m so glad I found Degree Wellness because when I left, I felt amazing. The Infusion Nurse was very kind (I’m an RN as well) and professional. We had some great conversations and I felt very comfortable- she offered me cold water and a warm blanket. All of the staff members were helpful. I will definitely be going back!Amy M

I have been to MANY rehabilitation places in my past 20 years. Still, I count this as literally the BEST experience that I have ever had at a rehab place. I have been in pain for 2 decades & the lady helping me asked all the important & necessary questions as well as fully explored everything that she should have & even went beyond that! I was more than pleasantly surprised. Most places I have been to in my past just got the briefest details & then my money. But not here. Here Neha worked with me for a good amount of time too, & she was so very patient w me, varying the exercises based on what I could do due to my bad back against what I should do & worked that out. I am hampered also by the fact that I have been on crutches 13 yrs straight. Neha still helped w everything & took me thru a range of movements that I needed to do & even tho it was painful, they worked & she has made it so that I can move better today than before today. That is the highest praise I can give and it was earned. I was also given a print out of at home exercises to do that will help my back. But Most of all, what I found Amazing, was that the Neha was so patient, kind, knowledgeable, & wasn’t condescending at all when I was unable to do certain things. That is what made the visit so amazing. I must say too that the ladies at the front desk were also kind, sweet, & knowledgeable about their part of the job also. Back to the full visit tho; A patient knows the first time, that there will be pain when we go in. It’s a given on the first visit. What isn’t normal, (usually), is to have someone so kind, as well as so very patient, extremely knowledgeable, & very experienced. It is rare & absolutely wonderful that I got all those necessary qualities in one lady ANDDD that I was lucky enough to get her for my 1st time too!!! I also loved that Neha didn’t push me. Esp when a person isn’t able to do certain things because that normally ends in more pain later & she already knew that. So I truly do think this is the best place I’ve ever been to. I think this is a great place for anyone that has a need for any rehabilitation, and it’s equipped for all ages also. The very small, ONLY downside or thing I didn’t like, was that you must do your exercises in a room with others that are also working on their injuries & their helpers that are right next to them… So basically everyone in there can see everyone else working out & of course people being people, they will look & hear every movement you make & every gasp of pain that escapes. I found that part really embarrassing… That is just my opinion tho. I just truly dislike group settings. I prefer a room to myself. But that’s the only downside & most rehabilitation places are run the same way… Too, I must state that it is very possible that if I had asked, they probably would have changed it for me, if I made a fuss. But as I mentioned, this was my very first visit & I didn’t even think to mention it yet. So all in all, it was wonderful, helpful, & well worth my time, effort, & 😉 insurance deductible. Wonderful place an atmosphere, highly recommend for therapy. The staff there is very helpful an understanding, able to speak comfortably about any problems or concerns an always have a guide to help your pain ! Neha was absolutely wonderful, every visit she would great with a smile making my visit comfortable an welcoming. Any pain she listen an always found a way to help relieve ! Overall, I must say the staff is absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere is very peaceful. An with the different covid protocols this place is by far the cleanest an comfortable I have visited. Great place to do physical therapy! I have been going to physical therapy for many years in different areas of Jacksonville because my condition is chronic. Neha, Isabella, Chelsea, and Stacy are very professional, informative, efficient, and passionate with their work. This place has a fun, positive, and inviting atmosphere~ I like that the area is small so it does not feel crowded. The receptionist is nice as well. When I was five minutes late for the first time I got a call, which I appreciated. I've been calling about the associate in nursing program for a while. I always either get a voicemail or an unsuccessful transfer attempt. Very rarely do people call back. When they do, I get a crumb of relevant information, a promise to follow up, and then I can't get ahold of them again. I tried to get my transcripts evaluated, was told that FSCJ's anatomy and physiology credits most likely wouldn't be accepted because Fortis' anatomy and physiology classes are 6 credits each whereas FSCJ's are only 4. But the advisor assured me that my other general education credits should transfer. However, based on the same logic, my general education classes also wouldn't be accepted because they are 3 credit classes whereas Fortis' are 4-5 credits. None of this is confirmed of course since they never return my calls or emails about the transcript evaluation. This is a NATIONALLY accredited school. This means regionally accreditated schools (like University of North Florida), likely won't accept their credits. You will likely have to retake your general education credits if you decide to further your education. This is based on personal experience with nationally accredited institutions. And yes, every school has their own credit evaluation requirements and each school, whether regionally accredited or nationally accredited, can accept or decline credits as they are fit. However, this is especially important to consider when going from nationally accredited to regionally accredited schools. Keep this in mind before you spend $50-55k on an associate's degree here. That is what the associate degree in nursing program at this campus costs. I say this because they make it so hard to find that information online and you have to play phone tag with them to get an appointment scheduled to EVENTUALLY get this question answered. I had high hopes for this school, but it's been disappointment after disappointment and I haven't even started in the program. Schools, like everyone, want to make a good first impression but if this is their best, then I've seen enough.Katherine Eggers

I am so sorry to hear that others have had such a bad experience with this School. I can only speak for myself. My experience at Fortis College has changed my life. I was hired right off of my Externship and have been at my job since 2015. I learned a lot at Fortis and not one time have I had an issue educational or personal that I felt that the staff at Fortis did not hear and help me with……Every Teacher that I had was eager to step in and give me the extra push that I needed and I felt it was from the heart not about how much money the school could get. I now have Career not a job. I was chosen because Fortis College comes highly recommended at a lot of Employers Human Resource offices. If anyone has had a bad experience I am so sorry that you feel this way….but I myself never seen anything that couldn't be worked out at this school. As a matter of fact I am going back for my Nursing and I am excited because it is a smaller school and I feel that I will get all the help that I need to succeed. I am so pleased to have been a Fortis College student. From the President, Directors, Instructors to the staff have displayed great care about each of the students, in a very professional and informative manner. Each teacher has taken the time to understand the individual needs of the student, matches that with how the student learns best and truly cares about the students. This makes the learning environment flexible and adaptive. The school is large, clean, and following Covid protocol and this is important for me, they observe discipline, they know how to find an approach to each student. Overall excellent school and I would highly recommend Fortis College to all the students searching for a good school!Julie Chipp

I needed to renew my CPR/BLS certificate and really wanted a hands on class. I previously attended FCTC and was highly satisfied with the class. My instructor this time was Carlos. He has a witty personality and made the class fun exciting, while ensuring that we were understanding and following along. Will definitely go back.Liesel Babb

They wasted my time with multiple calls and insurance verification, and weeks of figuring out if any department would want to take me. They made it clear they would only send me to one department and they would not look at all the symptoms together only ones related to a single department. They called this morning to say my insurance will go through but that no department except neurology would want to see me. They sent me to neuro to get scheduled and neurology told me they do not have any available appointments. Not now, not ever. No wait list. Simply never can get me scheduled was the answer. So they woke me up to tell waste my time and tell me they can and then cannot see me ever. They said you need a diagnosis to get in. I said they market themselves as helping identify mystery diagnosis’, and she said “we do help identify mystery illnesses, but we require a confirmed diagnosis to get in.” Huh? That makes zero sense at all. If I could figure out what was happening to my body I wouldn’t need to travel to Florida for help finding answers. Waste of hopes and time. I feel misled by the marketing about the Mayo Clinic being caring and inviting. This was a worse experience than a regular dismissive clinic. Literally, they reject you altogether. Not as altruistic as they appear i guess. And they gave me this news on Halloween. Happy Halloween, nobody cares or will ever help! Getting help is like applying to Ivy League school with everything working against you. Way to cause psychological harm and hopelessness Mayo. Thanks for that.G L

I just returned from 3 days at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. I have never experienced such an efficient, caring, friendly, professional and comprehensive care giving environment. I was blown away. I must have had close to 15 appointments/procedures while I was there and every single one was on time, staffed by the most genuinely friendly and professional staff. Every single staff member listened – and I mean REALLY listened, to my questions and concerns. The mobile portal provide by the Clinic was superb and was “command central” for the 3 days. Results that have historically taken weeks, if not months, to receive from other clinics and doctors were literally available within hours. It was an absolutely amazing experience. I can think of several so-called customer service organizations that need to take a page out of the Mayo Clinic’s book on how to treat people with sincerity, care, compassion and a genuine concern for them as individuals.Simon Crawford-Welch

I find just about everything they do to be excellent. And, they wisely do not try to do everything. The campus is not far from Jacksonville and is a lovely setting as are all of the buildings, pleasant and you don't really mind waiting for an appointment. That may be one of the nicest things actually, that I have almost never had to wait and I've had more than six dozen appointments here! How's that for respecting your time! Of course they are respectful of your time so you have to be respectful of theirs; if you were late by more than 15 minutes, it's not a good thing.Daniele Giovannucci

Amazing experience working with Frank. I went in for shoulder pain and Frank tailored a plan that fit my existing level of strength and incorporated manual therapy (massage, stretching) and home exercises. I am fairly active and work out so I have usually found that PT is not challenging and I don't get much out of it (no offense to PTs). I was happy to find that this was not the case here. The office visits really felt like we were doing work and I left feeling better than when I came in. Ultimately, it resulted in a now pain-free shoulder. I can't say you will have the same results, but Frank and the team are definitely worth giving a try.Kate Priddy

I didn’t know what to expect when I first started my physical therapy treatments at SportsCare Physical Therapy for my knee replacement. I must say that MIKE is great therapist there. Mike has made the transition and the pain easier to handle. This is my second knee replacement, so I have a good idea what’s good and what’s terrible. The facilities at SportsCare are top notch, clean and usable. I am relatively new to SportsCare Physical Therapy, but I am happy with their services and staff. I found them to be very professional, caring and accommodating. They listen to my needs and respond (e.g. billing and insurance questions, putting a PT plan together, etc… all have been handled to my satisfaction). Also, my physical therapist is Frank Allen, he is highly skilled and knowledgeable. He is also personable and makes patients feel comfortable. There is no physical therapist I would rather see than Dr. Jess. She is truly amazing and cares deeply about her patients' wellbeing. Jess is compassionate, insightful, and dedicated to finding ways to relieve pain without medication. I have seen plenty of doctors who are quick to prescribe opiates for my pain without looking for the source of the problem. Dr. Jess came up with an in depth treatment plan that worked for me and helped relieve my pain. She is not only extremely intelligent, but she is collaborative. She used her knowledge combined with my preferences, schedule, and desires, and created a plan that I felt entirely comfortable with. My favorite thing about Dr. Jess is her resiliency. She doesn't give up on treatment, and if something isn't working she is able to change it and try another solution. Thanks to Dr. Jess, I no longer have chronic pain. I'm eternally grateful. But it doesn't stop there! The entire team at Core Essentials is incredible. I have seen Alecia for treatment as well, and she is amazing. She is compassionate, incredibly knowledgeable, and is a great motivator. Alecia takes care every step of the way to make sure her patients are comfortable. The front desk staff, Juli and Devin, are personable, friendly, and detail oriented. They know every patient by name, and they really take the time to get to know you. Unlike other facilities, Core Essentials doesn't have that "clinical" feeling because the team is so genuinely kind and caring! If I could give Core Essentials 100 stars, I would. After many disappointing visits over the years to big corporate PT clinics for my chronic low back pain, I found Dr Jess. The initial hour-long evaluation she gave me zeroed in on the real source of my pain, and she educated me on the physics of how I was moving and using my body in ways that caused problems. There were a lot of real "light bulb" moments! No doctor had ever taught me any of this! Dr Jess is teaching me the right way to move, and which muscles I "should" be using. She has used dry needling, and massage to release the tension in my back, and I'm now re-training my brain to engage those muscles in the correct manner to avoid injury. I'm feeling stronger and I can move more easily just after a couple of weeks. I feel so encouraged and empowered to get my active life back, and I'm looking forward to utilizing not only the personal one on one therapy sessions, but the in-house gym with certified trainer, and the many small group classes they offer. I knew Jess personally before we entered a relationship with her as my provider, so I was already comfortable that there would be a positive relationship between us. I came from a highly negative experience with another physical therapist at a different practice that left me suspicious and both medically and physically fragile. Dr. Jess immediately assessed and identified my needs on all levels – from an educational perspective to transmitting information in an emotionally safe way to demonstrating an impressive depth of knowledge. I found this office, on the Southside, via Google and reviews. Thanking all who posted as I am very pleased with the service provided. I chose not to post until after my surgery on 2/14/22. Initial office visit: I was extremely nervous and Dr. Kuznia spent time with me explaining in detail what my current gum health was and the steps that would be taken to make them healthier. I was given a plan for care and the cost. Pre-op/surgery Necessary info provided for the best outcome. I sat with a Jamie and she outlined everything in great detail. Prescriptions were given to me at this time to fill before surgery. Payment was made at this time. Day of surgery Staff and Dr. were ready and on time. Surgery went well. Performed with mild sedation. I don’t remember the surgery but afterwards, get this….no pain!!! I am serious. There was tenderness and swelling but for me, no pain afterwards! Post-op visit and cleaning. All went well. I had my cleaning today and it was thorough and painless! The hygienist, Breze, was great! Professional, personable and courteous. I highly recommend! This morning I had my 6 months check up after my implants surgery. I have to say, I can't tell which side the work was done on. It feels so natural and I now eats lots of apples. As usual my recent treatment from the entire staff was excellent. Ms. Bianco provided me with outstanding treatment for my periodontal maintenance session. She was very meticulous and knowledgeable , always explaining in detail the condition of my teeth and recommending remediation for corrective surgery. . In 2015, I began my journey as a new single mother to a sick little infant. I was going through a divorce, trying to understand what could possibly be wrong with my angel and trying to go to school full time in a new career field. From day one my guidance counselor, Mark Parker was my cheerleader. As a father himself he understood why I was so scared of the unknown regarding my little girl. Classes started and Amy Mercer helped me with all the didactic portions and insured I never said I can’t. Nichole Lambert was and still is the director of the ST program. Many times I thought I would never make it and they all assured me I not only could but would do great. Well then I went into clinicals and met Lucy Alvarado. She pushed me to be the best me and all together with the support of all of Concorde I not only am a CST, but I have surpassed that. I became a First Assistant then graduated with a BPH and now an MPH! A masters degree!!! And I could not imagined I would ever be where I am today without them! One team one fight! I am a ST student at concorde since February of 2020, I love the program, the students and the teachers really try to help you if you are lost or behind. During the covid-19 pandemic the teachers did not hault the program but they instead had us do our campus classes online and we meet up on 'Teams'(or zoom sometimes) 2x a week to go over our class work and go over our PowerPoint. I love how flexible we all are. We still have lab 1-2x a week and sometime split up people to minimize the amount of people in labor. If we email our ST teachers they get back with me within a short amount of time. I'm excited to graduate May of 2021😊Rose Hopper

I am a 1995 Concorde career institute graduate valedictorian of his class I am a certified medical assistant retired now. I went back to college when I was 35 years old and did this so any of you younger guys or girls you can do this. I never had a problem getting a job. Is a matter of fact they are very competitive and at this time there's a ton of them out there certified medical assistant is a very rewarding career. I struggled with upper back pains for years due possible car accident 20 years ago and years of not seeking treatment. When sitting for long hours in front of a computer, I can feel pain and stiffness around my shoulders and neck. I am unable to sleep at night due to the pain. I decided to check in with Rebound Rehabilitation Physical Therapy @ Cesery Blvd to see if they can help relieve or correct my pain/injury. With weekly sessions along with at home stretches, I noticed improvements on the third week. The staff here is incredible. They are super nice, understanding, and knowledgeable. Fleming Island location…only has the office staff been patient while other docs took front seat, but my therapist actually listened to my concerns and the lack of help or professionalism I received a few years back. Its nice to know that with the being on this side of medical care, that there are people who put you (me) 1st and not their wallet. Please give them a chance because I did and I've had other therapist in the past at different places. They will listen from the phone call, billing and health info to your personal concerns in your healing journey.Liz E

The physical therapist assistant put me on the treadmill and started it at a very fast speed. I hurt my hamstring that was previously doing okay and I was there for another reason. It was really painful for the next month. When I mentioned it I was ignored. I know mistakes happen but own up to them please.James Jay

Ive been going to Lakewood for a while. Throughout my time, I’ve encountered minor issues at each visit. For example, I was charged on site for fluoride and then later received a bill in the mail again for the same service. I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt, but ultimately their front desk staff are lacking. While they are nice people they continuously make errors and screw things up. My most recent visit in October 2022 was the last straw for me. I arrived at 8:20 am for my 8:30 appointment only to find out that my appointment was never scheduled. I pushed to get in since I took time off from work to attend this appointment. They were able to fit me in at 9 am so I waited. During my appointment, they proceed to tell me that I owe a $50 no show fee for an appointment I never came to that past April. I keep everything in my calendar and I know I did not have an appointment in April 2022. They told me they would waive the fee. I end up hearing this same thing from 3 different employees throughout my appointment. At the end of my service, the tech in my room asked if I wanted to schedule my next appointment and I told her no thank you. I end up getting an email five minutes later for an appointment in April 2023 despite me telling them I didn’t want to schedule one. After much back and forth, I was finally able to cancel that unwanted appointment. By this time, I had already paid for my service and the front desk is now telling me I still owe a dollar because they charged it wrong. Ultimately, Ive been giving them chances because the facility is pretty nice and it’s close to home. But I don’t have the patience to deal with them anymore. The actual cleaning and exam service was average. I’ve had better dentists and cleanings before so I will be looking for another dentist.Sarah Le

Me and my husband been going there for more than two years. Every time we went, we saw different hygienists. Some did an good job and was friendly, and some did a terrible job! But we try not to complain because it is close to my home safe time for driving. My husband got deep cleaning done in 2020, which we spent around 1650$ out of pocket after insurance, and after that, we followed cleaning as they recommended. However, the last time we went, it was the most miserable experience because one of the dentist hygienists asked my husband, “ did you even brush your teeth ?” He said it is so dirty and difficult to clean! I couldn’t even believe what I heard! My husband told him, “ well, we have been coming to this office to clean our teeth, and that means you guys did a terrible job! After the cleaning process was done, we complained at the front desk, asking to talk to the manager . She front desk lady said, manager in meeting now and will call me after. But I never received any call ever! So never again to Lakewood dentist again! They are rude!!!!waso moeoo

I always take my children before, 7, 14 and 16, now is a new doctor, I don't know what happened. The told me the my older son have some cavities a younger daughter need a treatment for you teeth, was about $1600.00 for both with my insurance Cigna, I know my children can hace some problems, but look a little out for me, I take to other dentist, they can't find any problems, I just don't want to believe.
