Great place to learn, with a safe environment. The grounds are well taken care of, and the staff is very friendly, as well as patient when teaching. Very well at allowing students to understand what is being taught, and provide all the basics when it comes to starting your college credits. The entering staff are knowledgeable in helping you find assistance in areas you aren't familiar with such as tuition, loans and grants. The book store has all the stuff you need to succeed. They have several cafes on campus. The student center is the campus hang out. They have pool tables ping pong and a wide variety of other clubs and activities to get involved in. The mini processing plant on site is a great hands on learning tool they have RIGHT THERE on campus. All of the professors are very knowledgeable and understanding. If you want to learn and earn college credits this is the place. They have an adult learning center for people to get their GED. They're performing arts center for people that like to perform or do arts. Like drawing and painting. Have a nursing program that is top notch. All your basic studies are covered by experience and helpful staff. They have all sorts of activities, and clubs. This cosmetology where they offer haircuts and manicures. They offer instrumentation as well as process technology. They have a judicial class for those that would like to learn about the criminal justice system. They do scrolling all year round even on weekends If you have a 9 to 5 job and can't make it to regular classes. There's athletic program basketball and volleyball, they have a swimming pool weight room and banquet halls for rent. They have several lecture halls on campus as well as outdoor picnic area or study areas. There are some campuses one in Baytown, McNair, and Liberty. So their service area can be reached. They also have helpful Access student resources answer questions about programs and are always willing to go that extra mile and help make student success their number one goal. They have campus security to keep you safe and well-lit areas for evening classes. They offer welding and logistics, also support a wide variety of students from all over the world. I must say, the teachers are helpful and the classes are small-yes- but the support staff for the college itself (business office, counselors office, financial aid, ect) are the absolute RUDEST people I have ever met! I work full time, so I try to do most of my business with them via Email, Telephone, or Fax. When you email any of the support departments, they NEVER reply back, once you call them and mention "I emailed y'all a week ago but I never got a response back…here is my question" they just give you the run around, transfering you to 3+ people just to get a vague answer. Just today, I got cut off by the business office when I simply asked if I could pay for tuition over the phone. The "counselors" in the counselors office don't even remotely help you with your degree planning, each one of them will tell you something different so you are basically left to figure it out yourself and hope you get it right. I have talked to all different kinds of directors/administrators about these issues and they NEVER seem to be resolved. Point to my review is this is a good college just to get a degree behind your name, but be prepared to hit a ton of roadblocks/red tape along the way.Kayla W

Love the school, very understanding teachers & other faculty! I graduated from here my first semester of my senior year in high school before deciding to attend UT! Everything was okay all the way up until the 2020 graduation parade. When announcing my name, the announcer made a very uncomfortable mark about my dads corvette mentioning “Nice car where’d you rent that for the weekend?” I didn’t really notice until my sister played her video back after the parade. The car wasn’t rented, that’s HIS CAR FULLY PAID FOR! I didn’t like what he said and if I could see him face to face again any day, I would tell him African Americans can have luxurious and nice things as well! Some comments you keep to yourself! My teen had an appointment under DR Saba Memon. She practices cookie cutter medicine. I feel like she is following a checklist. She told me what my child is diagnosed with, and she will only start treatment if I jump through hoops, and make more appointments. I left feeling like she does not care at all about my child. I came for help and she refused. She discounts what the parents say and think. She is very dismissive and the other doctors disagreed with her. She did not take what they said into consideration. UT health should do something about her. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she inferred that she has no boss and her word is final. She told me he has ADHD, and I can provide documentation from his PCP and his therapist. I would like to know how to file a formal complaint. This level of care is unacceptable. I was seen at the neurology clinic at the University of Texas Health Science Center when I was considered a candidate for neurosurgery. I had to have a few tests performed before the neuro-surgery to make sure I fit all the criteria and that the brain surgery wouldn't have a catastrophic effect on me. All the neurologists I worked with were excellent, supportive, thorough with the exams and explanations, and very nice to me and my family. Staffs are useless. I do not want to pay a penny to them. They just blame students for every jobs they are mandated to do. They do not work if you do not check. Do not believe them but keep chasing it. All administrative works need to be done by yourself. Do not ask them because they do not know. Rather, ask other students. I really enjoy the student life here and most of the staff here is friendly, but overall the lack of professors and class schedule availablity is very disturbing. Classes that are available during the day is very limited and a majority are only offered at night plus a good 3/4 of the classes are taught by the same professors. The STEM department is very underfunded, I feel that this college is missing out on a big opportunity since the general area around here is next up and coming medical center (League City, Webster, Clear Lake, etc.). These two have been a big issue that have come up a lot when talking to other students. Another drawback of this campus is that you cannot graduate on time due to the lack of open class availablity. Also, this university is not a friendly parent student, so if you are a student that has kids I would look elsewhere. Overall, I feel like this is a very underfunded univeristy that needs a lot of improvement and it is sad to say that the community colleges are better than this one.Ashley M

Went to help move my daughter into her dorm/room on Saturday 1/16/21 & evryone we saw were very helpful, questions were answered & its been just a couple of days but my daughter has had an amazing experience!!! Update: unfortunately after the freeze we had my daughter was asked to go to hotel or back home (which was fine with me) until they "fixed" the problems that occured due to weather, the unfortunate thing is that it's so expensive to live there & YES she had help with financial aid but they did NOT give any discount even though she wasn't there for a month, not fair but oh well it is what it is..just had to write down the experience as part of my review.Jessica Ramirez

This University is trash. They can't keep professors, but their tuition keeps going up. Don't expect any help from your advisor because they won't be in your field of work and have zero clue about your major. They are business people only. The STEM department has drama in it so they are a mess. Expect to be in a class of 50 in a tiny room using garbage computer programs that are always expensive or vague and then not be able to receive any help from anyone. I really enjoyed the MA program and I learned so much. Something that I really appreciated about the school is that we had ALL the resources we need for certification studying–and all of the professors are extremely knowledgeable about their fields and gave plenty of tips and tricks for how to maximize your potential in the field. The biggest reason I'm sticking to four stars is that I had a pretty bad experience with one of my professors and I don't agree with some of the attendance procedures–having no absences excused unless the school cancels classes isn't reflective of an individual student's situation (I know this first-hand), but all-in-all, it's a nine month program, and the amount you learn and experience completely outweighs the poor aspects.Kendall Eley

I can only speak about my experiences here at Pima but I can honestly say it’s been life changing for me. I’ve completed my Registered Dental assistant program and I’m currently half way through my Radiology program and all I can say is that I’ve had nothing but good instructors in both programs. They really push you towards succeeding and the classes are well developed for you to learn. The prices are a little over the top but seeing how it’s a institute it’s expected. I am currently on the MA program, and it has been a pretty good experience. I am able to have time to study and also work and balance everything else with it. The team of this school is very professional and really care about their students, they are always willing to help you if you need help from them. I really like that they even have tutoring to help you if you struggling in a class. BUT the school is a little misleading because when you earn your certification, you will not yet be qualified for the jobs you really want because you will have to get even more certifications. Not to mention most of the jobs want people with a few years experience to start there. I’ve been attending this school for about 2 months, and I have nothing but good reviews about it. All my teachers so far have been great and patient with their students and it’s been easier to learn the material. I'm currently having one of the worst experiences ever! I was completely unaware of being enrolled in online classes once the pandemic started. I never spoke with anyone or confirmed this was ok. I specifically chose on campus classes due my struggle with specific subjects. I was unaware until an instructor contacted me. I emailed advising and was removed from the class I was still charged and a hold was put on my account. I have never talked to or discussed classes with anyone for the fall and i am also scheduled and charged for those classes as well. Now i'm told i have to file an appeal to try to have the balance and the hold removed and i cant remove the fall classes until the balance is cleared. Every time I speak with anyone i'm forwarded to someone or a dept. that cant help or explain!Christi Chavis

While I'd love to give a better review, I have to be honest. If you are utilizing veteran services, prepare for a ridiculous amount of wait time. There's never anyone online via chat and when you call if someone answers, it becomes a series of transference to different people or "I'll have someone contact you." This poses an issue as a current student attempting to be successful in class. I am finding it impossible to get a return address for a delivery I received containing 2 bottles of your CBD oil and 2 packets of the CBD gummy bears which was delivered to me by Hermes. I initially wanted to cancel the order but was informed that I could not. I did not realise the total price of these items and then my shock at finding out I was calling USA as I am in Scotland UK. Let's see where to begin. I am a former employee at FCC but they are also called UEI and US colleges. The 1st thing I noticed when working there the amount of unnecessary emails you get from everyone that works for FCC UEI and US college and the corporate office, about over of 100 hundred emails. The 2nd thing is the amount of meeting you have attended almost every two hours. And let's not forget that these meetings are not to motivate you, but rather make you feel small and tell how much of a horrible job you're doing. Beacuse in one hour you were not able to enroll a student. The director of admissions Mrs. MOORE will threaten to send you home without pay, she will threaten to fire you, she will call you lazy and pathetic or good for nothing, just because you can not book an appointment or enroll a student. To FCC it doesn't matter if you are homeless or can not afford school, they will enroll you no matter what. The work environment is very hostile and just not a good environment. As a student I suggest you go to a regular community college get an associates. Then transfer to a University. When I went there seemed like it’d be a great opportunity seeing I’ve been working to get back into school. But the office folks seemed reluctant to actually work with me. The process was not being done in chunks. It did not seem logically scheduled so all and all I give the program 2 stars seems like it can be helpful for maybe some people who wants to just rush back into school but seemed like they wanted me to use my student tuition for the school more than actually help me. Don’t waste your time. Go to a student advisor in lone star or HCC and then work with them from there. They should be able to help you. Or just work to get into a better vocational school. Dr.George was the best instructor ive ever had LET ME TELL YOU! i have never enjoyed school and never made above a B plus but after taking my first module with him i past all my first 3 classes with a perfect score of 100. I would recommend this school for a professional career change. I had a busy work life, working overnight and coming to class straight after work. I would not recommend this school, thier staffing issues caused several months delay in my admissions and when I called to check on my paperwork it was lost by an employee who was no longer working there. The new admissions lady was rude and when I spoke to Demecas Banks the head of admissions she was supposed to correct the issues caused by her employee but instead made things worse and than refused to admit me based on her personal feelings and bias. I went here to get my medical assistant certificate. It was all I expected and more. Everything from financial aide to the instructors were helpful and i feel like i got what i paid for. William was very receptive to my questions, very quick to get back to me, and when I asked if we could meet an hour earlier, he graciously complied. He was very patient with me, we were able to review all the concepts while maintaining social distancing. I came into this class with the idea that it was going to be difficult but Mrs.Livina completely proved me wrong. When I applied too the class she will provides you with scrubs text book and even a pay plan if you can’t pay it full. The class is one month long and cheap, not only the program being cheap I had the best experience yet. I came in this class because I want to get experience in healthcare and start working in hospitals or retirement homes. In one month I have learned so much. I am the type of person that fails every test but the way she taught changed everything. Everyone in her class passed the tests and got to practice the skills for hours and hours. The state exam is coming soon and I’m confident that I am going to pass it because of Mrs.Livina. I started attending Texas Heath School about two months ago and my experience has been great since the day I walked in the door. My first day walking into the school I was immediately greeted by the smiling face of Mrs. York. She was very attentive and took the time to answer any questions that I had about the LVN program. If she didn't know the answer she took the time to find someone who did. She made sure that I had all of the resources needed for TEAS testing and even told me who had books on sale. A month later she followed up to see if I still had interest in the program and even allowed me to contact her personally if I had any questions. She was VERY helpful with the process and was always there to answer questions. Up until this day she still checks up on me to see how classes are going and she is very encouraging! Her energy can light up a room and you can tell that she genuinely cares. People like her are hard to come by. This school is trash. The instructors are trash and expect you to already know the information. The owners care nothing about the students passing and only about making money. The Director of Nursing is the biggest piece of trash as she has an air of superiority and an inflated ego and most certainly plays favorites. I was able to learn everything I needed to know & so much more in just a short amount of time. She prepared me for the job that I now have as a phlebotomist. This is an amazing place, I have learn so much. They were very welcoming and helpful. At first I was a little spectacle at how the program just 9 weeks and I wasn’t sure how we would learn all the material in such a short time. Amazing course! Mrs. Holly and Ms. Charity are wonderful instructors. Always willing to answer any questions, offer extra help and provide tutoring time. Both are extremely knowledgable, with 20+ years of experience. Despite the program being a shorter program, I learned so much. The atmosphere in class was always positive and inclusive. The class size was also very small (six including myself) so you get plenty of personal instruction. I wanted to share my real experience with this school. I went to this school about 2 months ago. I want to first say all these reviews are not 100% accurate because the school asked each student on the second/last day for each person to write a review & who is going to write a bad review sitting right in front of the instructor. I did the phlebotomy course which was a week long Monday-Friday.. the class was suppose to be 3 hours from 6:00-9:00pm but we always ended an hour and a half early so in reality the course went from 6:00-7:30 sometimes 8pm. The first hour was spent on taking blood & going over proper technique etc, and the remaining time was pretty much gossip and side conversations that had nothing to do with the course. Since the course ended early.. this did not leave a lot of time to learn. On my third or fourth day during taking blood on the students the conversation started to get into politics & one of the instructors started to talk about how when “President Trump was in office things were better for us.” I was in shock, I expected to learn a lot in the one week course and I did not expect to get into conversation about politics & spend most of the time not talking about the course. I do think you are taking a chance when you come to this school unless they change the way they run things. It’s affordable yes, but I rather spend my money on a different program and feel good and confident about my experience. All of these reviews were written in the classroom. I give them 2 stars because they will let you come back and practice if you want too. But I decided to take my knowledge & skills elsewhere in the healthcare field. I did not feel good about my experience overall. I hope they can do better.Liz

If anyone is looking for a great phlebotomy course, I highly recommend this one! Heather and Brianna and great instructors who are patient, informative, fun and passionate about what they do. The class sizes are small so that they can give everyone a good one on one personal experience. And even if we still feel like we need more practice, we can come back anytime to practice on other students. This was one of the best investments I've made. Heather and Briana were amazing instructors. Heather explained how to be professional, safe while using proper techniques when drawing blood. Briana walked us safely through clinical by showing how to properly draw and dispose of equipment properly. I love the actual hands on learning. I recommend 10 of 10 for this school and I would give her more than 10 ⭐️ . I took the Medical Assistant class and I loved it. Dr Betty Roaches is such a sweet teacher and she has a passion for teaching that amazingly shows 💛🙌🏾✨. I learned a lot during the 4 months of being in the Medical Assistant program and I had fun while learning. She works with you hands on, and Dr. Roaches explains in great detail the information that you learn during lectures and in clinical’s. She teaches you everything you need to know and to be the best Medical Assistant. All I had to do was study and come to class prepared to learn. Dr. Roaches was professional, there to assist you in whatever you need, understanding, an excellent communicator, an amazing teacher and I’m proud to have been in the Medical Assistant course and a graduate of the program. Dr. Betty Roaches is in fact an amazing teacher. I loved being in her phlebotomy course. She explains everything in a way you will understand. We had some very interesting discussions in her course. I highly recommend going to this school if you’re interested. Please don’t listen to the one star reviews; those are from students who didn’t apply themselves in the classroom or study or pay their fees so they ended up failing the course. Its very easy to pass this course if you apply yourself and listen to Dr. Roaches. She explains in the beginning of the course that fees are due when expected. Ive had the most amazing experience while attending Houston Dental Academy. The program is so informational, helpful, and overall FUN! I never thought I would be putting school and fun in the same sentence but here we are. The best thing about this program is the instructors! This program was way better than i expected!!! both instructors Ms.Regina & Ms.Dorian has made us feel really welcomed since the begging of the program they never gave up on us (,: Always made sure that we understood every topic and made sure we never failed.
