How to describe my experience with this school. I would say first and foremost that the administration and the teachers genuinely and whole heartedly get invested in you as a person and a student. They will give you 100% if you are give them that in return. I loved my experience going to school online, and when I was finished I had a job in no time. Take it from someone who actually studied there for two years. Penn State Mont Alto is a surprisingly great campus. Is it in the middle of nowhere? At first glance, yes. But in fact, civilization is merely a hop, skip and a jump away as Haggerstown Maryland is only a 20 minute drive away. That town has just about everything a college student would need. Restaurants, a fantastic outlet mall, a halfway decent regular mall, Movie theaters. And 2 miles away from campus is a Walmart superstore. If you don't have a car, shopping trips are regularly scheduled by the student government. And if you miss out on that, so long as you have a friend with a car, you can get anywhere between Waynesboro, Chambersburg and Haggerstown, or even State College. And trust me, you will make plenty of friends here, many of whom will be locals, and so they will know their way around the area very well. The bulk of my friends from college that I still keep in touch with are people that I met at Mont Alto. And you may be surprised (I know I was when I first got there) but that campus is very diverse for being out in the middle of nowhere. I've met people at this campus from all over the country and some from other countries, all different races and creeds. The faculty is great, and they are really dedicated to making sure you get a good start. If for some reason you must finish your college career here, admittedly, your choices for a degree are limited as it is a branch campus, but every other branch aside from PSU Altoona is the same way. It's designed for you to spend a year or two here and then move to University Park to finish your degree. Also, the dorms aren't bad at all. Especially Penn Gate 2. Penn Gate 2 offers suite style rooms with their own bathrooms and showers shared by two rooms. The building is less than 15 years old and so it is in very good condition. Mont Alto Hall offers a more traditional dorm experience, and I must say it is an experience that every college student should have at least once. This is an older building, so expect smaller dorm rooms, communal bathrooms, painted cinder block walls, you know, traditional dorm room. Get creative with your room mate and make it work for you guys and you'll be fine. And if the food is still the same as when I was a student there, then the Millstream Cafe is excellent. I cooked there for a semester and so I know the food well. I can tell you that the quality is definitely there. I was addicted to their philly cheese steaks for a while. You can get just about anything there from hamburgers and cheese sticks to a new york strip steak (if it's on the menu that day). Their breakfast food is fantastic as well! On a final note, just to be clear. Penn State Mont Alto had absolutely less than nothing to do with the Jerry Sandusky scandal. I doubt Sandusky even knows the campus exists. That said, if you are going to judge a branch campus by the actions or inactions of a handful of faculty and staff from another campus, or if you are going to judge the quality of a Penn State education as a whole based on what happened, then you're probably not smart enough to get into college anywhere. So don't bother applying if you are one of those people. Penn State Mont Alto is a fabulous campus. A diamond in the rough if you will. Given the opportunity to go back in time and do it all again, I would without hesitation.Steve LaRosa

This campus is in the middle of nowhere which is not convenient for those without a car. There is only 1 place to eat food and it often closes at early times which is not convenient for those without a car Professors are terrible and use a terrible grading system when it comes to their courses plus they are very petty when it comes to grading students who they seem to not like. Some professors teach classes one way but take exams from other campuses to give out to students which do not contain the same teaching style they have taught us the students. This campus with Academically hold you back if you plan on transferring to main campus because of the small amount of classes that are available. There are advisors who will trick you into staying at Mont Alto for 4 years and as a student you must do your own research as too what and where you want to go and make sure you are not getting duped into staying at such an atrocious campus for your undergraduate degree. A lot of courses here have to be self taught due to terrible teachers. If you are a minority i advice you to not attend Mont Alto due to racism that is out there in that community and within the school, there are a couple of white students who use the "N word" but do not let minority hear them say it when they are around. This campus does not take the problems of racism serious and often push it aside due to their lack of empathy of any situation. The campus does not make Minority feel welcomed at all.. The retention rate is dropping because this campus lacks a lot of things and is overall terrible and the people around here are worse. Please do not listen to any of the great reviews on this campus because i can honestly say that if you are not from around the Mont Alto area this campus would be the worst Penn State Campus to attend.John Doe

I am a current student at mont alto. This coming year I will be the student manager at the campus cafeteria as well as president of the Penn state mont alto student government association . Yes the campus isn't in the middle of a city and a general way of transportation is necessary if you want to go out of town. The campus is the most welcoming and communal place ever. The professors all truly care whether or not you succeed however I've had issues with my chemistry professors. This was our daughters first year at college and furst time living far away from home, and all the advisors and mentors made a smooth transition. If there was anything that I don't like is dealing with student services, they talk to you as if you are suppose to already understand their process. Amazing 2 years here. The school has all the resources you need for success, you just need to apply yourself and not slack off. It's a close-knit school. I met my entire friend group here and we all remained friends through Hazleton times, State College, and even now. My friends from Hazleton came to my wedding and I still talk to them and see them. This is actually a really beautiful Penn State branch campus, and the staff here are lovely. I had the good fortune to visit here with an academic adviser to promote the RPTM major and Shaver's Creek Environmental Center. Great school for a community college. I heard it’s the best around. Many students come from San Diego or from the North just to go here. They do a lot of things by hand (compared to other schools that do things electronically). The grounds are well kept. The parking is horrible during the beginning of the semester. More parking will be available as time comes. When you register for a class, you need to pay the same day or you get dropped. If you’ve dropped a lot of classes, the school might give you a hold because the classes are impacted. There is a daycare center. Parking permits and books are relatively cheaper than most.Aurora A

Good School. The campus is breath taking. Views of the ocean in the dining hall and surrounding areas. Tons of plants and trees all around, a great variety. Staff are helpful. Parking is a struggle, unless you don't mind parking in dirt lots but then it's not worth buying a parking permit. As for professors and academia, they could improve. I went to Delaware County Community College part time for four years after high school. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I really didn't know what I wanted to do right out of high school and I didn't want to go to a super expensive university and still not be sure. I started out with general studies. I just finished my Liberal Arts associate's degree there this past spring. I enjoyed my time at this school. I got to take a lot of different classes to really figure out what I like and what I dislike, and it's way more affordable to do that here. The campus is beautiful, especially the STEM center. There's lots of helpful services and the professors I had were great. I'm now transfering to another school to study graphic design and I feel like DCCC helped me get on the right track. The cost isn't horrible and the classes are similar to classes offered by four year universities. The problems I have lie with the administration (financial aid, career center, cashier office.) They do not know how to deal with students in a timely, concise manner. I was unable to get in and complete a single course for the last two years due to administrative problems, even though I had been with them previously. Such a Beautiful campus and I had a very great experience at DCCC, I’ve had some pretty good professors during my time there although some did seem to only be there for a check. During my time here I was also in the KEYS program and they have such wonderful staff very helpful and friendly. As the mom of a college student who had to leave a private, out of state institution for medical reasons, I came into contact with BCCC when my son was ready to obtain further credits. The administration was so very helpful, from applying for appropriate courses, to registering and payment. My son has not yet graduated, but the experience at the local community college was excellent. BCCC also has programs in which high school students with special skills or talents can participate in college level work. Both the high school and BCCC were extremely helpful in this regard. High school credits were obtained with no tuition payment. Finally, I am a sunset photographer. The high hill on the campus overlooking the baseball field just off Swamp Road is a very nice vista for sunset shots!!Carol Geibe

First off the price is great. The campus is really nice. I liked the professor's a ton. There were some really good teachers. When I transferred out most of my credits went to Penn state without an issue. I see a few reviews on here talking about bad teachers. This is not a BCCC problem, it's a college problem. I had just as many bad teachers if not worse teachers at Penn State as I did at BCCC. Expect it, accept it, and work harder in those classes. It's only 16 weeks folks. If you are looking to see if college is for you or just starting back up with your education I think it's a great place to start.Mike Carson

The campus itself is clean and the security is friendly. As for the professors I had in my two year stint here, many of them were awesome people and very helpful as teachers. I feel I have learned a lot from having knowledgeable teachers such as Professor Beers in the math department and Professor Bresnen in the music department. All in all, for the most part the staff here seems to care about their students' success and I have had many more pleasurable teachers here than I expected.Dan

Worst college experience. The clinical advisor is incapable of her job and pushed the clinical to a future start even though the CPR card takes one day to get but she decides to push it a whole week when we should have been done the day the quarter finished. The phlebotomy instructor is really rude and disrespectful of students and makes students not feel comfortable to speak up and if to ask a question she acts like your a child completely rude. I don't recommend coming to this college. Also the virtual graduation was upsetting to know I had sent my information and sent a photo and not even be on it. Really makes me unhappy to know I spent money and time to be treated as a student like trash and not get acknowledged for the hard work and time put into trying to succeed. I won't want to come back to this college for the at most disrespectful people.Ryan

This is a terrible college. It’s like pulling teeth to get anyone to email you back about important, time-sensitive information, and you get the runaround when they do. This happened when I was applying for admission, and is currently happening now that they’ve denied me, because they are incompetent, the certificate I worked so hard for. Because they changed the numbers on some math courses, they all of a sudden don’t count towards my certificate, and they lost the official transcript that I sent from my former college, and are denying my transfer credit. Man i had trouble here. Not only did they give me the wrong classes but it turns out i never had FAFSA to cover my classes. And they make me pay for them two years after I left the college. Thank goodness i never continued to study here. I know they have a lot of students to manage but still if you were able to catch that years later then why not then? I knew something was wrong here. I am in my sixth week taking online courses at MATC. I have chosen the IT Support Associate Degree program, for two reasons: One the program is only two years, I’ll be able to launch into the job market faster, and because IT is such a diverse, and fast growing career path, I know I will find a fit into the IT world upon graduation. I chose MATC because MATC is convenient and conventional. I can take classes online, at my own pace, and be on campus for the classes I need more focus and dedication to. This IT program combined with my 10 plus years customer service experience, I know I will be able to reach any career goal I set. Now, while my interest in computers and knack for problem solving I know this career path will be suitable for me, however, to any prospective student looking for a quick money type of career, this program is not for you. This program consists of lots of physical and mental work, also taking consideration of the customers you are serving. If a prospective student welcomes challenges and is comfortable with asking questions and not feeling intimidated by the mass amount of information you will retain then this is a program for you. Prospective students should also be aware that they don’t have to work or figure stuff out alone, one of my favorite accommodations is having access to tutoring, whether online or in person- at all campuses. Fellow future students should also know that acquiring their degree at MATC is a smart money move, students can save thousands of dollars getting their education here, as opposed to a four year college/university. Information Technology is very informative program. This program breaks down a lot of things that can happen with computer systems. It is a to-date program. I choose this program because I want to go more in depth with technology. Everyone uses technology every day. I would like to be able to assist those who are not tech savvy. MATC I.T support program has a great path program. Pathway allows you get a few certificates take a break and come back for your diploma. Completing this program will give the knowledge and skill I need to become an I.T professional. Instructors are very helpful. Staff is friendly. My experience in MATC IT Computer Support Specialist program is limited but good so far. I chose to pursue this degree because it lines up well with my current work experience and career goals. So far, I have been able to take all my classes online with no scheduled class times, so I can complete assignments at my own pace without interfering with my work schedule. Another thing this program does well, is that it offers options to achieve many different certifications on your way to a degree. My daughter just graduated from Cal U. She had an excellent experience and enjoyed her 4 yrs there. She has continued to a masters program at Pitt and has had no trouble finding work or getting accepted into other programs. All universities function in a similar way and it's up to the student to take advantage of all the opportunities that the school offers. Very nice but small University. Very clean and there were lots of campus police around. The cafeteria was limited on options. They could definitely do better with that. Probably the worst options from any of the 10-15 campuses we've visited. Only other downside is it's literally in the middle of nowhere. Nothing is around. I believe this is a good school. I think I got a good graduate level education here. The tuitions are reasonable. Being in a less urban area, it is usually easier to find parking than the university where I completed my undergraduate degree. Are you a working individual looking to earn a degree? Don’t go to Harrisburg Community College. This college uses Technology that is not easy to learn and I am good with Computers. Want to speak with a Advisor, well my advisor lives in South Carolina so I can only conduct a meeting via Zoom, the college is taking ALL personal interactions away. And working individuals…well i hope your not trying to spend any time with family and friends because I leave my 40 hour week job and I do school work for 5-8 hours a night and on my weekends. Forget about spending anytime with my wife and three children….I am taking 3 classes. Don’t ask the teachers a question, they just refer you to the syllabus…well clearly I am asking you a question because I didn’t understand it. I am military, yesterday I had duty and i didn’t get my project submitted, I logged in tonight to submit the project and the instructor removed the instructions, and locked the drop box so I couldn’t submit the assignment. I could keep going but I don’t have time…if your a working individual, don’t fall for the things they tell you.William Bricker

If I could give this institution a lower than one star rating, I would. For a community college, the course costs, books, and fees seem to be immense. I had professors who took half or more of the class periods to talk about themselves, personal topics and politics. I’ve also had professors assign English paper topics about personal things and I imagine he laughed at the student’s papers later in his free time. The required intro to college class professor had us playing with popsicle sticks and jars of rocks and sand. The certifying official for the VA office submitted my paperwork incorrectly. I dropped my classes and incurred debt because of how poorly the education at HACC is. They seem to be all about the money and not the education or students. I can’t even request a transcript for my new school because of “debts” to HACC. I no longer live in Pennsylvania and I am now attending a MUCH better school, and I am very glad. I would never recommend this school to anyone. This is not a good school, don’t waste your money and time.SMK3181

Most professors are nice but my overall experience was bad. I went here to try to accomplish a 2 year degree but every time course selection came around they didn’t have the classes I needed so I got stuck taking hardly any credits each semester. The majority of advanced classes are online only. They offer almost zero advanced courses in a classroom. So happy I made the decision to transfer. Not to mention how every time I scheduled a meeting with an advisor it either got cancelled without notice or they changed me to a new advisor who could not give me a single piece of useful advice.Kate

i have an associates degree from a previous college plus attending the university of Scranton for a year and appearing on their deans list. Going to Lackawanna was def a step back for me. I was accepted into the surgical tech program and thought it was my lucky break. First before I go into the details of the program I’d like to say that the professors I had besides the surgical tech (while nice) mostly read off of powerpoints , which we students can do ourselves…. the tests were up in the air as to study what. They expected you to read a whole chapter (science) and retain every critical detail. The surgical tech program was a nightmare. Not because it was hard, but because the teacher, Purnell created a very hostile environment. She would teach the skills once and expected you to get every step correctly the first time. She loved berating students and while the course is very serious because one deals with infection prevention she seemed to forget that just because she knows the skill that we were still learning, all the while being out of touch with updated surgical technology like instruments and procedures and new sterilization techniques.She definitely had her favorites and if you weren’t one you’re going to know you’re not. Snatching and cursing is one of the many ways she’ll teach you. I had heard from previous students she had worked in McCann school and was known to throw objects around whenever she was frustrated with students. While I was going through personal problems n didn’t do as well as I’d like , I decided to quit the program because honestly, you can’t learn from someone who doesn’t want to teach. If you can find the surgical tech program in another school… go there insteadRamses Bracero

DO NOT GO HERE FOR CYBER SECURITY, or any online classes for that matter. TL:DR You dont get support or help with anything important. If you want this level of education buy a CCNA study guide on Udemy. The online classes will not help you in any way. It is up to you to find the external resources to help. There is no "hay I need help with this", you are completely on your own. I am stuck at this school because I cant afford anything else and yet this is still a complete scam. I have gone through just about 2 semesters and this school can't provide as much as a zoom call. They have nothing technology related for any elective. So a majority of your classes aren't related to cybersecurity in any way. I have had to take a criminal justice class, and a macroeconomics class. Wasting both my time and money. This state has much better schools, however they are a lot of money. Do your best to get a scholarship and get out to them for cybersecurity. Don't get stuck here at this college. If you want to receive a degree anytime soon DON'T GO HERE. My friend has been working for his associates degree and had 4 finale classes to finish. He passed 3 of them with all A's and on his 4 class receive a D because of a computer mix up and receive 5/50 on two assignments even though they were turned in on time but the assignments were flipped. Not only did the teacher give him that grade when he realized the mistake and emailed her about it but she also waited till the very last minute to grade everything in the class for everyone. This was the last class he needed and now has to wait a whole year to have a chance to receive his associates degree. This is crazy and I want the school and the public to know how infuriated I am about this. There is no reason anyone should be treated like this. The best college ever! The best opportunity in your life! Berkeley College is a small college but very professional one. You can find everything you want there, an excellent stuff who works hard and is always waiting for you, a sophisticated technology, using up different sources to make you succeed, a big stuff helping out students to finds jobs and internships, They will do everything to motivate you and prepare you for your future success. That's the way I see this college. It may be a little bit expansive but when it's about our future we have to invest first. Everything in this college is great. Let me start sharing me experience with you: I come from a small country from Europe, where we have a completely different system than here that seems to be a completely stress-free. My English level was not so good, and I still find it difficulty sometimes, but it was not a obstetrical for me at all, because all the professors helped me. And I am definitely glad for all the professors that I had, for 19 of them (5 quarters until now), they are all gorgeous. They never stop telling their student to use them as much as possible. They are respectful, patient, helpful, easy to understand, and they will try everything and every method for the student to succeed, after that is up to the students. If you do what the professors tell you to do you'll be fine, and that's what I and all my friends do. And we enjoy time in the class, we work in group, we discuss and bring new topics in class related with the lectures. And what is the beauty of Berkeley College is the diversity that it has. I consider myself lucky to have peers form different part of the world, because in an easy way help me to learn more about what's going around and try to understand other cultures too, thing that is very important if you live in a city as New York. I agree with a review here that in short terms tells that Berkeley College is a easy college to enter in because it accept everyone. That's true! But that's what make this college a successful college, because it gives everyone an opportunity. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't; Berkeley College is one of the worst college in America. According to National Center for Education Statistics, the retention rate is 64 percent and the graduation rate is 30 percent. When people see these type of statistics, many people like to blame the students however in Berkeley College’s case, it’s not the students fault, it’s the school’s fault. One of the problems with Berkeley College is the financial aid. When you first come to Berkeley College, they promise you that you will graduate in 3 years however when you have to deal with the Financial aid it’s nearly impossible. Berkeley College operates on a Quarter System. And because Berkeley College operates on a Quarter system, the government can’t fund every quarter like Summer Quarter. This is a problem because students are force to pay large amount of money out of pocket. And if you can’t afford it, you have no choose but to drop the quarter and this will push back you graduation date. Berkeley College is so expensive and such a waste of money. If you’re coming from high school or another college, don't waste your money and your time. This school is not worth the tuition money you have to pay every year. You pay 30,000 plus (about $7,800 each Quarter) in tuition and with the new book policy, you will be forced to pay $300 out-of-pocket for books you will never use each Quarter. Word of advice, if you are looking for a college look somewhere else. If not be prepared to work at McDonald with a Bachelor or Associate degree.Andrew Owens

I had the worse college applying experience. This is for the Paramus NJ Campus. I was a prospective student. Unfortunately, I’m on temporary disability for now so I figured “why not go back to school to pursue my dreams?!”. Well, Berkeley admissions gave me a HORRIBLE experience. They stopped following up with me unlike other universities I applied to. No one knew what was going on in my admissions process. I gave this college money that THEY knew I didn’t have because of my disability because I wanted to attend. All of that for these fools to tell me they’re only accepting a portion of the credits I took for my associates degree. I am going to attend a prestigious university that knows what they’re doing and how to handle their prospective students. Putting effort into this college was WORTHLESS!!! This was my first onsite class with DeVry. I have had such a great experience with my senior project class here at Naperville. Being that it was my first time, I had to get an ID and receive a quick orientation. The onsite staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. In this session, our class was granted the permission to occasionally use the Addison campus for access to the tech playground for our presentations. Our innovative teacher, Professor Rucks, encouraged us to explore and utilize the facility to aid in our course work. When I needed academic advice and assistance, Mr. Dufresne, Assistant Dean of Academic Excellence, made himself immediately available and went out of his way to make sure my needs were met. Professor Nichelle Manuel made Database Essentials for Business w/ Lab worth every hour taking this class valuable. Her instruction during the lectures made everything that i read just *Click* every week. Her patience with the class really came through when a classmate needed help to clarify a task in our Lab. My school experience at Keller has been great from the start and I can honestly say it has been mainly due to the awesome faculty and professors. My last class Applied Managerial Statistics (Math534) just ended and it was again evident that because of professors like Dr. Al, who has the patience to teach and listen to students needs, that I was able to learn a lot more that I thought I would. Really nice campus, great students who volunteer to mentor incoming Freshman, every staff person I encountered was very nice and helpful. The campus is larger than you think, and has more to offer than you can imagine. Elizabethtown College's gym puts commercial gyms to shame. After seeing it, my husband and I wished we could be students just so we could use the gym. Put the idea of a small town college not having a lot to offer out of your mind! Etown offers a myriad of Majors, Minors, Certificates, even a Doctorate program. They have an exchange student program and countless student activities. My other two sons are in college in Pittsburgh, one at the large University, the other right next door at a larger private college, and my youngest chose ETown. In all honesty, my Bluejay will have just as many student activity options; athletics choices; opportunities to study abroad or work at an internship in his chosen field, as my Panther and Tartan have. Oh! They even have a very cute campus dog named Truman, who I think is a labrodoodle!Barbara Spaulding

Obviously, as my college which I am currently attending I am extremely biased in writing this review. However, I love this place. Etown is the place where I can proudly call my home, and I recommend it to outsiders wholeheartedly. If you come and become a Blue Jay, you are no longer an outsider. This college actually brings you in and makes you feel at home. I transferred from another college during my sophomore year of undergrad, and Etown has made me feel as though I am finally accepted. Nothing against larger schools, I loved my college that I transferred from and it had 30k students versus the 2k here at Etown. However, you really have to experience this place to believe in what I'm talking about here. I think you will find that Etown is a great place to stay, outsider or insider.Hunter -

I am in my second year at Elizabethtown College and I have to say, I am having the best time of my life! All of the professors are so helpful and all staff I have met have been kind. Generally, all the students look out for one another. This college has taught me a lot about my interests/strengths and how I can use them to benefit my future career. All the courses I have taken have been challenging, but SOO rewarding. The professors care about your learning and your success. As you can see, I could go on forever about how awesome this school is! Even though I am only in my second year, I already worry about graduating because I never want to leave.Meghan G.

Where to start….. re-enrolling for business admin after a degree in admin. Pretty sure any of children in the children's center would have been better advisors than the first one I had as she passed me off to admissions, had no idea what she was talking about, and downright REFUSED to help me enroll in classes saying she "doesn't do that, you have to do that online but I can show you how on this computer." The next day the second gentleman was a little more helpful but again, got nowhere. Advising hold, needed a specific advisor for my program [he was the one to tell me that] but he at least got me a name. Meanwhile another advisor is emailing to set up an appointment [not the one I needed]. I contacted the one I needed, I'm not even eligible for that program due to a pre-req not being met [hours of time being wasted to find this out fyi]. Get in touch with the one that has been reaching out, my advising hold was magically lifted, no one claims to have done it, register for classes other guy cancels his appt, make payment #q all good now….. fast forward 2 weeks it's time to make payment #2. I go to the Bursar's office only to be turned away because the Bursar's office does not accept payments 😳😳. I'm starting to remember why I took an extremely long break and a long time to get my degree . I'm even contemplating paying the out of county fee to transfer up to LCCC…..Katie Fitzpatrick

Beginning of Fall Semester 2021, I was a P.T.K. honors, full scholarship recipient student here working on my second degree until I was profiled by one of the female EMT instructors who though it would be a great idea to complain to an armed police officer that I was in the hallway outside the classroom my oldest son (also a student at NCC) was attending. The officer (extremely nice and professional) instructed me not to wait for my son in the hallway anymore since one of "the female EMT instructor's" complained about me for waiting in the hallway, doing nothing wrong, but waiting for my son. The situation was quickly neutralized after showing the officer my credentials revealing to him that I myself am a EMS Chief as well as a NCC Student. The Fowler building has constant video surveillance on every floor if NCC staff wishes to investigate. This took place on the 3rd floor of the Fowler Center Building. I have since transferred as a result. I will no longer be attending or sending any of my children to NCC. Posting this now because of possible retaliation towards my son and I being NCC students at the time.John Rivera

On Friday May 31 2019 I did a self-guided tour of Northampton Community College. This was my first visit to this spacious campus. The campus is located about ten miles from downtown Bethlehem in a suburban almost country-like setting. The campus looked very modern to me. I walked through the sports building and there was a fitness center which was closed that day. Not sure if the school has a pool. There is also a north campus across the street. Student housing and Alumni Hall are located here. There are many parking lots and the school has its own campus police force. I cannot comment on the school itself since I did not go here nor do I know anyone that did.Richard K

I'd be very wary with this school. They don't pay the teachers for their full work. Instead ONLY pay them for the time they're with students and none of the prep. I don't know how this is legal, but it's robbing the students of an adequate education, and exploiting the teachers hard work. High turn over rate. The place is poorly run and managed. A lot of misinformation. The school lacks a lot of basic supplies to teach, and lacked even a first aid kit.Willie Garcia

I am the parent of a student. I am very disappointed in the graduation venue they chose for these students who have worked so hard. First off everyone is talking through the ceremony, the sound system horrible, and awful old school auditorium. How disrespectful to the students to provide such a venue. I'm angry, and hurting for these students. To pay the high price they skimped on the celebration. Embarrassing and shame on the school.Cindy Cooper

I went to the Nursing program here after being CNA for several years, attending the program and getting licensed was the best decision I have ever made. The professors and instructors were very supportive. Most of the students were very motivated, if you’re motivated to get it done this is the school to attend, less wait lists and less stressful pre-reqs requirements. Best of luck!Gamachis Achamyeleh

I ended up backing out of the enrollment process. After sending my transcripts and FAFSA info. I asked what would be the cost for the classes. I could not get a straight answer from anyone. " We won't know until you are accepted … and enrollenrolled. And to be accepted you must complete the student loan applications process." I made it clear from Day 1 I was not taking out student loans. And wanted to pay out of pocket…. So they could have saved me a bunch of time by saying we won't accept you without loans. And I would have walked away. Even on my final email I sent to them say I was no longer interested because I found a local University that was cheaper and way more helpful the reply I got back was…. " well if you are still against taking out loans….hope that school is a better fit for you..".Jaime Seda

This school lacks communication so bad I do not recommend this School to anybody if you would further have questions later on down the road you’re better off joining another school. It’s all nothing but stress since I began the school. And they don’t make situations any easier. Also the professors are mean as hell! They don’t teach you anything. They write out what you’re supposed to do every week and grade and give feedback. That’s it! You have to literally teach yourself with research articles and your text book. And when you do receive feedback from them on an assignment, and you had some errors, instead of teaching us our wrong doings they decide to give you zeros and be rude when leaving feedback. I can’t wait to graduate because this school is nothing but BS!H D

Bellevue University is an outstanding educational experience with top notch staff and professors. I graduated in 2005 and the education I received at Bellevue impacted my career in a positive manner. I have since returned to work on my Masters. The curriculum is up-to-date and reflective of the real world. Rewards in life come with hard work and dedication. I read the comments made and was surprised by the negative ones. However, I served my country for 30 years to protect the rights of folks to practice free speech. In exercising that right, I would like to say well done Bellevue University, you are making a positive impact on professional and personal goals of thousands. James S.James S

I'm currently in the welding program so that's all I can really count on. The school is overall decent and the tuition is about average for the program. They give you a toolkit and basic welding gear but if at all possible avoid it. The jackets burn right through and the gloves will wear out in a month and they're severely overpriced especially since you're doing overhead there and have no access to the property safety gear. The instructors are great and most of your time there is spent welding which is awesome.Tom Watson

I was new to this area and I came across this school, I inquired about the Medical Assistant program. I was blown away by the helpfulness of the advisors from my inquiry to applying, and then getting into classes. This further extends to the staff and amazing teachers here that go out of their way for their students. By far, this has been the best experience I have ever had in a college setting.Heather Chapman

The degree I received isn’t worth much more then $9-$10 hr as a medical assistant. Just go for nursing, it’s cheaper and you’ll make more money. They don’t get back to you about refresher classes either although they are offered indefinitely when you enroll. Don’t waste your time or money!Patricia Carlson

This college has made a terrible impression. They got me admitted as a transfer student, and I have been preparing for the Fall session online, but to appear in person, and I just found out I missed the registration deadlines because student advising never got back to me. I took the new student orientation and the professor, just skimmed through all the info. There wasn't time for questions, and she cut it short by 30 minutes. It didn't even explain how to register online. I had been in communication and prepared for this session but didn't understand how to register so all the classes I had 'added to my schedule' weren't actually registered, and no one followed up with my questions. I thought I was registered, and even as I try to register now after the fact, it still says I need student advising which no one ever got back to be except for an email to say I already had everything set up. I am torn about this. Now I have to wait another session to get started?! NO! I will take my education somewhere where I can actually get assistance. This is such an emotional drag.Gabrielle Flores
