How to describe my experience with this school. I would say first and foremost that the administration and the teachers genuinely and whole heartedly get invested in you as a person and a student. They will give you 100% if you are give them that in return. I loved my experience going to school online, and when I was finished I had a job in no time. The teachers for the most part are great. Student center and student billing either need to communicate better between them and the student or need new people in there over all. I’ve had issues since summer of 2018 with bad communication from them. I had 3 different advisors in less than a 2 semester span. Got scheduled into a class where the clinicals conflicted with the other classes I had. Got denied dropping that class but was not emailed or called about the denial. Found out about it when I was scheduling fall classes. Finally got it approved after the fact of all that mess and it messing with my financial aid. Oh but on top of it all, I would call student billing get no response back for so long (continued to rack up late fees due to no response back) I sent them 2 emails but not response back for days. They never actually looked into my account until I drove 35-40 minutes to find out why they said I can’t make online payments (even though I literally made one the month before) and comes to find out another mistake was made on with my account and I can make online payments. That’s not all, I had a $100 late fee put onto my account before it was even past due (and it wasn’t past due considering I made a payment). The communication is not good. Goes to show how much the school has gone down hill in such a short amount of time.Ashly Engwall

I have mixed feelings about my time at Cleveland Community College. The student services and enrollment center is outstanding. The go out of their way to get students the help they need with little to no hassle. I was able to receive all of my learning accommodations and register for classes with ease. I would like to say thank you to Dr. Willis. He was the best part about my college experience at Cleveland and is what every professor should strive to be. However, the most dissatisfactory experience was that of the quality of healthcare department. I expected a little more passion and respect from my advisor and professors in the Bailey building. They have an attitude comparable to that of the any DMV. The education is of low quality because the just cram material and expect you to get it quickly (85 pages of anatomy in four days), I had to battle with them to use my laptop in class, and they are the type of professors that like to give pop quizzes just to add to our suffering. Also, if you are a radiography student and live in Gaston County, be prepared to drive 90min to a clinical site and leave at 9:00pm, while coming back to CCC the following morning at 8:00am. The amount of stress they inflict on students is insane! This is coming from someone who has achieved nearly 130 college credit hours and is typically a straight A student.Sherman Norton

As an IT student, I've had a very mediocre experience studying for my double major (IT Networking and Systems Security). Just recently, however, I've gone through one of the most infuriating and stressful experiences I've had in years brought on by their NET-125 instructor. This instructor does not clearly list their standards for submitting work, and I've been given several zeroes for completed work that was submitted in their entirety, or missing one or so minor parts (such as leaving a comment saying you did the work). After several attempts to contact this instructor with no response, I've given up trying to talk with them about these grades. For this reason and several others, I'm led to believe that this instructor does not care about the success of their students, contradictory to what they like to advertise. Their habit of giving zeroes for missing small portions of assignments that never actually pertain to furthering the students' education or demonstrate a student's competency with the material they've learned is a pointless and detestable practice. Would an instructor with a good work ethic and a genuine desire to teach and cultivate learning in their students give out the absolute worst grades possible to the pupils who are actively learning and submitting nearly completed work, but miss out on a few small details?Valkyrie

Had a great time visiting the welding school a Cleveland Tech College. Their welding course is superb and they teach the students everything they could possibly need to know about breaking in the welding career. The head instructor Tim Wisher is a personal friend and his associate Dana is a great place to visit and talk shop. I'm a retired pipeline welder I have known Tim for probably close to fifteen years now. he really cares about his students and wants them to progress to have a bright future. I loved it there! Smaller class sizes made for more individualized attention for educational excellence. All of my professors were readily available if needed. My adviser was an eye opener for me with one simple question. "What do YOU want to do?" That question opened up a whole new world for me. Ursuline College states the college has the highest academic and graduation rate in their nursing program. Ursuline College is not the only nursing program where students are learning their curriculum on becoming a successful nurse. I've known previous and current students who have graduated from other schools that offered the nursing program for an Associates or a Bachelors degree, and have moved on to successful careers at major hospitals in the greater Cleveland area. My experience here in my first semester has been a disaster. On my very first day, I attended a class called First Year Semester, and I had to drop out of it because during a group session with Dr. Johnson who literally accosted and debased me right in the front of the class, all because I expressed my opinion on the challenges of being flexible when you're working and collaborating with your peers. That has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I am eager to step away from this college, so I can resume my studies elsewhere. Finally, Ursuline College is no better than the average college in the great Cleveland area.Bella Rose

Beautifully landscaped in suburban Cleveland, this Catholic college offers degrees with a distinguished reputation. Recommend the dorms be renovated; however, all other buildings on the college campus are utilized efficiently or re-purposed. The Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland reside on the grounds in their Mother House. A tour is a must to really appreciate this collegiate gem in the realm of women's higher education.Krista Thomas

Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I absolutely have no regrets about this school, and I enjoyed my time there.Kevin Frazier

I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. Stark State also always keeps their students in the know through text message and emails. They give you the tools you need in order to succeed. Highly recommend this college!elisabeth brian

I put $114 down for Housing a couple months ago but decided I wasn't gonna be going to this college so I asked if I could get a refund and at the beginning of March they said it would be refunded to me by the 16th of March and it was never refunded I have contacted Housing and they have told me to contact Cashiers Office about it and when I call the Cashiers Office they say I need to talk to Housing I'm getting annoyed with these games they are playing then I called them about a week ago and they said they would have to write their boss to handle it and they would call back within 24 hours they NEVER called back and I still haven't received my refund I'm glad I decided not to go here I'll be attending a nice university I got accepted into instead the price is outrageous anyways for being the college this is and also has a lot of bad reviews I've never left a bad review before but this really irritated me that money could have helped me outMackenzie

I have had a very positive experience with Hocking College my first year. I love the program I am in and am having lots of fun learning the material and connecting with students and my professors. I will say the environment is rough around the edges and difficult at times to stay focused and stay positive, which is why I am living off campus so i can come home to much more uplifting environment. Like with every profession and career you find good and bad employees. With that said I have experienced questionable behavior that was not above approach from faculty at times, but my overall experience with the housing, registration, and financial department has been positive and I have felt supported. I love Hocking College! It is my first year here. I have attended a 4 year school prior to this one. I must say, the classrooms here are much smaller. The instructors are nicer, and the workload is much easier. I feel at home here and I'm looking forward to obtaining my degree. The learning has a "hands on" feel. The buildings are close together so you never have far to go. The campus is beautiful and the buildings are kept clean. Even the bathrooms are nice! I reccomend Hocking College to anyone who feels overwhelmed attending a 4 year school. Also, Hocking has a great transfer module program, where you can transfer to a 4 year college after obtaining your associates degree. I'm glad to be here.Valerie Dixon

Worst college experience. The clinical advisor is incapable of her job and pushed the clinical to a future start even though the CPR card takes one day to get but she decides to push it a whole week when we should have been done the day the quarter finished. The phlebotomy instructor is really rude and disrespectful of students and makes students not feel comfortable to speak up and if to ask a question she acts like your a child completely rude. I don't recommend coming to this college. Also the virtual graduation was upsetting to know I had sent my information and sent a photo and not even be on it. Really makes me unhappy to know I spent money and time to be treated as a student like trash and not get acknowledged for the hard work and time put into trying to succeed. This is a terrible college. It’s like pulling teeth to get anyone to email you back about important, time-sensitive information, and you get the runaround when they do. This happened when I was applying for admission, and is currently happening now that they’ve denied me, because they are incompetent, the certificate I worked so hard for. Because they changed the numbers on some math courses, they all of a sudden don’t count towards my certificate, and they lost the official transcript that I sent from my former college, and are denying my transfer credit. Man i had trouble here. Not only did they give me the wrong classes but it turns out i never had FAFSA to cover my classes. And they make me pay for them two years after I left the college. Thank goodness i never continued to study here. I know they have a lot of students to manage but still if you were able to catch that years later then why not then? I knew something was wrong here. I am an alumni. B.S. Chemical Engineering 2008, M.S. Biomedical Engineering 2012. I chose CSU as my undergrad school over Case Western because Case is ridiculously expensive and I received a full scholarship to CSU. My mother told me I could choose whatever school I wanted but if I passed the scholarship up for 40k+ a year in debt she would kill me. Thanks mom, you were right as always! The Chemical and Biomedical Engineering departments are outstanding. Great faculty, small class sizes, professors that legitimately care about the students but also won't put up with BS from students that aren't taking their own (or their classmates') education seriously. The head of the BME department at the time had a major impact on my life. He personally took interest in helping me get a full scholarship during the second year of my M.S. (Choose Ohio First scholarship), helped me land a Teaching Assistant position AND a fantastic internship. THANK YOU! CSU is not perfect though. I had some bad professors (and also excellent ones) in the math and physics departments. That is hard to avoid at any school. Many of the school departments are much, much bigger than mine so you may lose some of the personal interest from professors when your graduating undergrad class is more than 12 like mine. I tried to make use of the career center multiple times but they were not helpful in job searching. Also the Fenn College of Engineering (now the Washkewicz College of Engineering) building is woefully old and dated. It's so bad that in my second year in 2006 a metal fence had to be put about 10 – 15 feet in front of the building facade so no one would be injured by the crumbling concrete. I wish I was joking. The engineering labs were also filled with old equipment, the classrooms were missing technology that is standard in other schools like projectors. Note that this was all before the very generous donation from Mr. Washkewicz so I hope things have improved. The only other complaint I have is that my graduation requirements changed a couple times during my B.S. and I had a VERY difficult time finding out if I was on track for graduation. In fact I wasn't sure that I was going to graduate until I got confirmation about a month before graduation! Even with these complaints I had a great experience at CSU, which is why I went back for my M.S. after briefly considering Ohio State University. It was my professors and department that made the decision easy, they had a great positive effect on my life and I owe a lot to them.Jim

I'm a business student currently in my third year at CSU (transferred from Kent State) and have nothing but good things to say about this school. The campus is beautiful and right in the center of Downtown, giving you easy access to tons of interesting things to do in Cleveland. The general vibe of the campus is very laid back and friendly, and despite what other reviews seem to say, this is a very liberal/progressive and diverse school with many students of all walks of life. I feel I have received a perfectly adequate education at CSU, as someone who cares mainly about getting ready for a career and moving into the business world. There are good professors and bad ones, but the majority of them have been very likeable and knowledgeable. Many of my business professors have lots of real world experience and many years working in their field. I cannot comment on the other departments, but the business school is excellent and has many career services available to students. As a commuter student I love the RTA pass they provide, so I don't have to worry about driving and parking downtown (yes, their parking situation is pretty terrible here). Finally I'd like to say shame on the idiots who are giving my school 1-star reviews because of a faux pas made by the administration. The first amendment comment was misinformed, but it's far from supporting the offensive poster. Anyone trying to paint CSU as anti-LGBTQ because of that poster debacle is ignorant.Steven Barnes

I love Cleveland State. I am a biology pre-med major and the department is great. However, if you live in the dorms, don't plan on getting your mail anytime soon. It takes at least 10 days added on to the normal mail time to receive any type of letter or package. I ended up just getting a P.O. box at a local post office. The education and clubs are great. There are so many great opportunities here to take advantage of. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to live in the city and get a great education.Madison Chapanar

I love Columbus State and this is why: Before Columbus State: Growing up, I was never interested in the information taught in school, because I did not feel like it was applicable to the real world. After a year at a private college, I was originally apprehensive to restart college at any college. I was also scared of a community college. I grew up in Michigan, and I felt like our local community colleges had negative stigmas attached to them. Luckily, my older brother took me into the application office in Delaware, OH to take the entrance exam. I believe I tested out of an english and/or a math class. While at Columbus State: I would like to note that I always attended C-State as I held a part time job (10-20 hours a week). I originally attended an EMT-B class at Columbus State. The class was more challenging than I had anticipated and was pretty time consuming. I received a B in this course, but found employment immediately in the field and felt confident in my skills. A year later, I returned to C-State with the desires to go to nursing school. Thanks to ample meetings with advisors in Health and Human Services, I decided to take some prerequisite nursing classes as there was a waiting list to apply for their nursing program (while I worked part time as an EMT-B). During this year, I found more confidence in my work and studies, feelings of support and encouragement from staff, and rewards from hard work. I was also able to sign up easily for academic accommodations for the first time in my life! I loved my time at Columbus State within this year! I never thought I would love school or receive my first 4.0 GPA in the spring and summer semesters. For the first time, school finally felt fulfilling for me. After Attending Columbus State: I decided to leave C-State after a full academic year, and I pursued a BSN degree through another local school. I often look back at my time at C-State and regret that I did not take more classes here while saving a decent amount of money! I would suggest night classes if you are willing and able. I found that students were more likely to be hard working, more mature, disciplined, and also employed. I also found professors who taught night classes were often from OSU and more understanding. Generally my teachers were all very competent, funny, and held experience in the world. The only negative experience that I found was dealing with C-Stat's Police department staff and accessing their gym/locker room. Students must sign up manually for the gym locker rooms every semester at C-State's Police department and then wait for several days for your card to be accepted from security/police. This system seems dated and non-productive. I feel like this process should be easily automated. This issue led to a negative experience I had with a police officer that identified as Sergeant Diamond. I felt like this officer escalated my personal situation while being disrespectful and patronizing. Another time I was eating a meal in my car between classes when a police car pulled up to me and asked why I was parked between two spots in an empty parking lot and then asked me to pick a spot. I'm sure the police department deals with things they don't want to. I could have been lucky and experienced two poor attitudes on hard days, but I do not feel like the police department is fulfilling their mission that states they want to provide "exceptional customer service" for their students based on my only two experiences with them. I would take a look at how the police staff is trained at C-State.Connor Hill

I have enjoyed Columbus State and majority of the people I’ve met here while on track to my BA but this college needs some serious restructuring. The biggest thing I wish Cstate would look into is their faculty. When I go to ratemyprofessor.com and see many of them at a 1 to 2 star rating, that concerns me. I have personally had good and bad professors here and majority of the good ones were adjunct professors, the bad ended up being tenured faculty. I wish the college would look into the gripes students have and start to question whether or not they should be hiring adjunct professors to replace them. The only other major issue I’ve had is from advisors. The point of the advisor is to advise the student on their education path, but when I have a genuine question or concern, interrupting/having a snarky attitude doesn’t come off as professional to me. One last thing, please talk with the finance department about putting a budget together for another parking garage. I don’t go during peak hours anymore but when I did parking was atrocious. It will be 6 weeks this semester (Spring 2019) before CSCC releases financial aid refunds. I cannot believe they get away with this! OSU is 9 days after the start of the semester! Some people rely on these excess funds to survive another semester of school! This should be illegal and I’m pretty sure it is because according to federal financial aid funds are to be released up to a max of 14 days after the start of a semester! Insane to make people wait 6 weeks+ to receive their refund. Also, parking is obnoxious here any time of day. It also seems to me that each department does not have a good linear structure of teaching so each professor is just kind of doing their own thing whichever way they feel like doing it. Some classes are too long some are too short. It really feels like no one is in control here it’s just a free for all I guess. Employees are not friendly in any way shape or form. Honestly the only good thing about this school is how cheap it is. “You get what you pay for.” 🤷‍♂️614 Realness

My daughter is a student, she and other students in her major, Grahpic Design, are having problems. The issue is that the registrar/academic services messed up the audit sheets the students receive when they enroll into their courses for their major. The ProPractice course is actually offered both Fall and Spring semester but because the sheet doesn’t say that, and only says it’s offered in the Spring, all the juniors that are required to take the course sign up in the Spring. This causes more students than there are seats. All because the registrar/academic services made a mistake on the papers. So the students have to pay for their mistake FIX THE PROBLEM CIA!Shelley Miceli

I only attended this school for two months online and I did not like it. First and foremost, the weekend class started, I had double deaths in the family. Only two of the staff members showed any type of sympathy. The only thing my instructor said was to make sure I handed in my work by the extended dead line. Also, when I called the office to get the passcode to activate my student portal, the guy was very nasty. He snapped at me as though I was wrong for calling for assistance. When he gave me the password, he quoted to me as if I were a child and I bet I am older than he is. I saw no professionalism, I was sent an email as admission, and introduction. A lady from Operation Graduation is the one who guided me through the set up, and all. I tried reaching out to my instructor via text and email with a question, I have YET to receive a reply. I didn't like the format of how to retrieve certain information such as emails, financial aid, etc., nor did I like the fact of having to borrow old text books. If you don't get to keep the books and the books are not new, and also if they have no lap-top programs, and the staff sucks, what are the students paying for? I have tranferred elsewhere. 1st This school is a rip off. I am a straight A Student and the 1st problem occurred when I logged into my account to withdraw from a class, I never started any of the work I also did it (withdrew) with in the allotted time frame I never received a conformation. So I logged back in to check if they had withdrew me the following week. NOT. I called an they said well we can't help you . F dropped my 4.0. 2nd part.My employer pays for my school. well they (my employer) hadn't paid in months July 2013, We finally got that taken care of in April 2014 as paid. and In Tech Released my grades and gave me a $721 refund…..Yeah…only to find out June of 2015 that was a mistake. Now threatening me about payment for $1900 from an unpaid balance. BS. Long story short the asses are trying to mess my credit (sent to a collection agency) up off a mistake they CLEARLY made. Dropped into a Indiana Tech University a Norfolk Indiana for a woman’s wrestling camp. The campus is small but incredibly new beautiful and seems to have everything a big university would offer. It seems to be conveniently located on the west side of Norfork here in Indiana close to plenty of amenities. From what I’ve seen the staff and coaches here are top notch in first class very good at conveying information in a modern world atmosphere. This university competes in the NAIA division for sports and it does have several sports that I’m sure you can see from their website. The overall feel of this place is that it’s new it’s clean and it really is a gem. We specifically came here for wrestling camp and to check out the wrestling program which seems to be a new program yet growing fast and improving constantly. Really like the wrestling camp because it gave technique live competition and classroom time for evaluation of such things as weightlifting nutrition and technique breakdownJ Carder (Mr Manager)

I’ve only had on great instructor, Stephen Marlowe, but the worst instructor there is Amanda Bylczynski by far! She is extremely rude and is unwilling to help. She refuses to admit when she is wrong and tends to give multiple directions to assignments that contradict each other and gives you a poor grade when you don’t follow the “correct” set of directions. It’s hard to stay away from her though since she teaches history, geography, sociology, and is an advisor. Since she is an advisor she tries to push you to take her favorite classes that she teaches rather than put you in classes that will benefit your degree! I am majoring in education and she put me in her history class (her favorite) instead of letting me take sociology which would have clearly fit my path much better! Don’t waste your time at this school. They treat everyone like a high school student whether you are or not. If you are looking for a community college to start your college career go to Sinclair! This is the worst school in the country, the staff is over paid the classes are the equivalent to a junior high school. I had applied there for art classes and did online classes and I had completed all my work correctly and did the assignments on time and with the correct format. Stayed up for hours on end completing assignments putting a lot of hard work into them and still got bad grades for some odd reason? So I email my teachers and call the school asking what I can do to improve them the phone tree did not work properly and my teachers never emailed me back. First off the professors are great, they help you and answer all questions. In the 5 years I have attended, there are only a few that were mediocre, but they are gone now. Advisors are helpful, but you will need to make sure they know what you want. As an older student the school is affordable and most classes are available in the evening. Down fall is several classes like Calculus, pre calculus, music, and other lab classes have limited availability in the evenings and in some cases not at all. When I was looking into going to Ross I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't sure if this program was really any good. From the minute I walked in the door all my apprehension was gone!! The admissions staff made me feel right at home and walked me through the process step by step and answered all my questions. The financial aid staff was wonderful and answered all my questions about my financial aid and got it processed quickly. The school director was absolutely the best!! She takes time to actually sit you down and find out how you are doing in your courses and she is available to fix any problems you may have. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable about the subjects they are teaching you and are also available to answer any questions and offer whatever help you may need. Career services literally will not stop looking for employment for you until you have a job in your field. The best decision I ever made was going to Ross and it has literally changed my life forever!!Carol Riddle

Honestly so disappointed. A complete lack of communication from day one. Today should be my graduation date, and I can't even get an email response about anything. The education I received was so far off track from what I was told I would receive (Billing and Coding) and I think I might be qualified to answer phones and make minimum wage now that I am done. I get plenty of communication about sharing on social media but cannot even get a response about what I am to do next now that my qualifications for completion are met. Not even something stating I am done. I completed my externship then nothing. Like I dropped off their map.Betsie Reed

Updates needed for the sake of the teachers and students as far as efficacy goes. Machinery such as autoclaves and centrifuge could stand to be updated as well. All staff and personnel at Ross is absolutely wonderful and I have and will continue to sing this school's praises. I can't believe how quickly time flies when you're having fun learning and meeting others with the same goals. All teachers were extremely personable and helpful. I will miss my Ross family when I go, but I am so proud of myself and feel so accomplished for exceeding my own expectations here.Renae Cunningham

My teen had an appointment under DR Saba Memon. She practices cookie cutter medicine. I feel like she is following a checklist. She told me what my child is diagnosed with, and she will only start treatment if I jump through hoops, and make more appointments. I left feeling like she does not care at all about my child. I came for help and she refused. She discounts what the parents say and think. She is very dismissive and the other doctors disagreed with her. She did not take what they said into consideration. UT health should do something about her. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she inferred that she has no boss and her word is final. She told me he has ADHD, and I can provide documentation from his PCP and his therapist. I would like to know how to file a formal complaint. This level of care is unacceptable. I was seen at the neurology clinic at the University of Texas Health Science Center when I was considered a candidate for neurosurgery. I had to have a few tests performed before the neuro-surgery to make sure I fit all the criteria and that the brain surgery wouldn't have a catastrophic effect on me. All the neurologists I worked with were excellent, supportive, thorough with the exams and explanations, and very nice to me and my family. I Would highly recommend to others, especially when it comes to epilepsy treatment.S-man Colly

Staffs are useless. I do not want to pay a penny to them. They just blame students for every jobs they are mandated to do. They do not work if you do not check. Do not believe them but keep chasing it. All administrative works need to be done by yourself. Do not ask them because they do not know. Rather, ask other students. Unless the problems are resolved, I will be leaving my review at what it is. I started at Terra in January 2019 and currently still enrolled. At this time, I just want to finish and graduate. When I first met with Terra, my advisor was rather "pushy" which I'v dealt with before, no big deal. The thing that stood out though was that she had to tie her success's into every little thing, and not in a good way. She bragged more than she used the information to make me feel better about trusting her. Her tone, to me, implied that she knew more than I and I just need to do as she says. Something I couldn't quite understand though is how none of my credits from Stautzenberger College could transfer. There's quite a few classes I had to re-take because of it. How does nothing transfer from such a highly accredited school like Stautzenberger? Upon showing my schedule to my husband, who had also had scheduling problems at a different college prior, he pointed out some flaws. How was I being scheduled for classes that I hadn't taken the "pre-reqs" for yet? I was also being scheduled for classes during times that they weren't even available. I had also been told that I was looking to graduate Spring of 2020, possibly summer depending on internship and when I decided to do it but because there were classes that I couldn't take when I was scheduled for them, I actually wouldn't have graduated until Spring 2021. Then later finding out that there was a class I NEEDED to complete before even doing my internship, something I wasn't told about either until now. I reached out to this advisor and didn't receive an e-mail back until weeks later, after I sat down and completed my schedule MYSELF. I have half a dozen other students in 1 out of the 6 classes I'm taking that have had similar or exact problems with the same advisor. Flash forward to financial aid. My paperwork was sitting in the "finished" pile while it was actually incomplete. This wasn't realized until I went to the financial aid office in person to find out why nothing was being posted so I could get my bill paid and schedule summer classes. They had been sitting there for weeks. Okay, frustrating but mistakes happen. However, the other morning, I woke up to an email from FAFSA that corrections have been made……on my schools behalf. I logged into my portal and see that the Pell Grants that have been listed for weeks now and that I was TOLD I was going to get (by the same gentleman who left my paperwork sitting unfinished for weeks) for summer and fall are no longer there and everything turned to un-subsidized loans. I reached out yet again (side note: getting quick responses from financial aid OR admissions when you have a problem is extremely difficult), to which I finally did get an e-mail back. In a real short sentence, he apologized, said he had made adjustments that was actually an error on his part, and went back in to adjust it, I should see my grants back up in a few days. Another email this morning, changes again, back into my portal, absolutely nothing has changed. 2019/2020 FAFSA was done, completed and filed, why go back in and make any changes period. Plus, where is the communication? I would love to understand what is going on with MY financial aid and MY classes but nobody seems to want to help and explain anything. I could very well not be entitled to any Pell Grant, but that needs to be communicated with me and told why it's changed even after I had already received them in an award letter. I am beyond tired of this run around. The stress and extra effort are completely unacceptable. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars vs 1 is the fact that unlike my last college, I feel MOST of these professors actually care about my education and me as a human. Update: after a couple weeks of back and forth, the Pell Grants finally posted. However, an issue I was having with my online classes can't really be traced to anything specific. I was actually booted from one of three classes then had to be re-added, and almost booted from another but nobody seems to know why.Heather Myers

Poor…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….They make it very difficult if you are a busy adult (no online or phone registration/deregistration for 1st time students). The tuition is low, but the headaches you will get from the college (applying, registering, high book fees, travel to the middle of no where) make it not worth the price. I have a 4 year Bachelor's Degree and work 40 hours a week in a professional job. I'm also working towards a 2nd Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems by taking evening/online/summer classes. I filled out a application, paid a application fee, and had it in 5 weeks before the start of classes. I was never sent a acceptance letter, phone call, or any information on registering for classes. I was never given a password to apply online. I called the Registration Office several times, but was met with a answering machine. My phone calls would be returned a day or more after I left them. They would leave voicemail messages while I was working. Eventually they told me I would have to get registered in person since I was a first time student. All first time students can only register in person even if you are only taking evening classes part time. I applied to Owens, North Central State, Marion Technical, and Terra for different computer information systems classes. North Central State and Marion Technical are way cheaper and you will be able to talk to a person over the phone. Owens College has the same quality classes for the same price with less hassles.Matthew Clark

I'll give one example of many of why this school is the worst decision you can make in your educational career, today I called for my transcripts and the manager there who name was mark was so idiotic that he didn't even know how to log on to check my transcripts, when he couldn't figure it out he claimed that the school actually can't check the transcript (lol) and that I had to go to a government agency called "student records clearing office" to get the record, all sucking on a lollipop. The sad part was I knew this was going to happen right before I called lol….. Most of these reviews are fake 5 star ones, so I will give an honest review. The staff of this school are uneducated and have no idea how to function in their positions, they are also extremely lazy and disorganized to the point where it is like something out of a movie, they are actually infamous for this and everyone who calls in tells the manager the same thing. The office may also charge you extra and create mistakes for you, I actually personally experienced and had to call to get the fee removed ( I actually educated their financial aid manager on how to actually calculate fees, he apologized and admitted his mistake and then never removed the fee).A Sayed

I'd be very wary with this school. They don't pay the teachers for their full work. Instead ONLY pay them for the time they're with students and none of the prep. I don't know how this is legal, but it's robbing the students of an adequate education, and exploiting the teachers hard work. High turn over rate. The place is poorly run and managed. A lot of misinformation. The school lacks a lot of basic supplies to teach, and lacked even a first aid kit.Willie Garcia

I am the parent of a student. I am very disappointed in the graduation venue they chose for these students who have worked so hard. First off everyone is talking through the ceremony, the sound system horrible, and awful old school auditorium. How disrespectful to the students to provide such a venue. I'm angry, and hurting for these students. To pay the high price they skimped on the celebration. Embarrassing and shame on the school.Cindy Cooper

I went to the Nursing program here after being CNA for several years, attending the program and getting licensed was the best decision I have ever made. The professors and instructors were very supportive. Most of the students were very motivated, if you’re motivated to get it done this is the school to attend, less wait lists and less stressful pre-reqs requirements. Best of luck!Gamachis Achamyeleh

If I could put no stars I would. Okay so I was doing pretty well in the college at first all A's and B's everything was going great! Until I ended up having to help out with rent so I had to get a job, and being a mother also I am one of the few who would NOT want to put that much stress (job, kids, and school) on myself. So I call them and tell tell whoever (if only I remembered her name) my situation and how I won't be able to attend anymore, and she ends up asking me all these questions like why am I withdrawing and questions that shouldn't really be asked because she didn't even say it's policy or anything, she just wanted to know. So I tell her I'm starting my new job soon and she asked me the one question that just actually made me done with her, she asked, "Are you sure you're not able to do all 3?" as in all 3 she means taking care of my child, going to work, and going to school. Let that sink in. It actually made me even more frustrated because she was telling me that if I did now it would cost a lot to pay back, but listen if I have to withdraw I have to. There's no 'Are you sure you want to?' So they said they'd call and tell me the rest of the details so we can get through with the withdrawal process and I haven't gotten a call yet but what I did get was an attendance email from Outlook telling me that I won't be able for eligibility for my financial aid if I miss 14 days. Wow. So, I'm going to call them now because this is ridiculous and I do not have time. But if you do go to this school, please be careful. i know that other people will have a better experience or whatever. But this is not one of them.AiKitty Chan

I was excited to start my online career here. However the guy in admissions that was assigned to me was not for me. He was not personable at all I only spoke to him one time and that was for five minutes he never explained anything just said he will send me an email if assessments that was it never heard from him again I tried email him several times never received a email or a phone call until five day later stating to complete more assessments I had questions and he did not answer them . I tried calling to see if I could get someone new they said no I had to work with him. 1. They don’t offer free counseling to students. I can’t imagine a university not caring about their students mental health 2. The bus schedule to pick students up to bring them to the university is unclear and the coach for Soccer said she never sees it either 3. You don’t have a credit union. Many students don’t have credit and credit unions are a great/safe way to help students open up into that world. UW Green Bay has all of these things. When you’re looking for a job they don’t care if you go to a private college or not. Your experience trumps everything, so consider that before applying.Blue Lagoon

I enrolled in the Adult Cosmetology two year program here and from the start my experience was mediocre. During my time there I had teachers come and go, I had 3 teachers through out the program. The first 'instructor' for the first year was more interested in being your friend then a teacher. Talked poorly about other students when they were not around and was more interested in getting her own hair colored the majority of the time instead of teaching. She favorited students and had a lack of caring. Our second instructor was there for a couple months and I had sadly learned more from her in those few months then I had with my first instructor. Our third instructor was the best by far, if only we had had her from the beginning. Now the school itself is shady. A few students and myself were prepared to graduate in July until the head of the Adult Education program came to us and said we had to be done with the program by June, 4 weeks prior. If we did not finish that was on us. I would not recommend this school to ANYONE. Find a better school that will provide you with the best education possible and is worth your money.Marissa Walczak

I was in the cosmetology program graduate in 2019 and I’ve been recommending Polaris to everyone! Best schooling I’ve ever done. my instructor ms.hasan was the best teacher I’ve ever had,she really cared about her students and making sure everyone got everything and made sure you brought the best out of you. She a very caring and loving person and I would not be the stylist/person I am if it wasn’t for her. Every program here is amazing and sets you up for success. BEST experience EVER!!!! Polaris has the BEST staff from the certification programs instructors to the aspire an office staff. These people really care about you an they will go to the moon to help you. I wish they had more programs cause i will go back. I will advise you if your looking for career or career change an your interested in one of Polaris programs GO FOR IT!!!! You will not regret it!!! I love this school so much ill be sending my daughter to Polaris for high school an for her to take one of their programs an im thinking ahead cause my daughter only in 6 grade.
