20 Best Mba Programs In Provo, UT (2022 Updated)

Does anyone get the feeling that many of these 5 star reviews are ingenuine? I attended Provo College for 2 semesters in 2011. I believe at the time they only offered an Associates for nursing, not a BSN. The tuition was very expensive, but they sit you down 1 on 1 with someone who gets you started on loans. At the time it seemed great that they were so helpful, but l later realized it was benefitting them more than me…which is why they make that part of the process so easy for students. I ended up leaving because the financial aid ended after 2 semesters and I didn't want $60k of debt for a 2 year nursing degree. The other thing that I didn't like was even though I was paying them insane tuition, they would have us come to a classroom for remote learning from Utah State University. This means you might take a math course from them and pay 3 grand, or however much it costs for one class, but you are basically doing it online/remote through USU…but you're paying way more than if you just went to USU. I later went to UVU and was able to compare the anatomy course I did at PC versus what students said it was like at UVU, and the course at UVU held students to a much higher standard. After a short personal experience at this college, and the ability to compare it to the other colleges I've attended, I wouldn't recommend it.Derek Drennan

I am about to finish my first year of nursing school. I have really enjoyed my experience here at Provo College. One of the the many things that I like about this program is the faculty. The faculty really gets to know you and you aren't just another number in the classroom. Each of them know me personally and even call me by my nickname. The faculty really wants you to succeed in the program. Tudors are made available to you if you are having problems in a course at no extra cost to you. Currently as a nursing program we are working on a service project, where we are making blankets for a local pediatrics unit. This is a great program that I would highly recommend! Provo College is such a great school!! The faculty, staff, and program administrators are totally invested in the students. I felt a genuine sense of caring from everyone there the first time I visited the campus- even the campus president took time to introduce himself and get to know me a little. The nursing program is amazing – all of my friends in the program had great internships, passed the NCLEX test the first time and have found fantastic jobs they love. The other programs are amazing also. I can't say enough good about this school!!!Staci

School here is nice and if you need something cheap, but UVU reinforces the comment that "University education is becoming less valuable." Half my professors were either teaching here their first time, didn't speak English, or had no expertise in their subject. I passed 2 years of credits by watching videos and drawing pictures during class: not because I'm smart, but because there was no content. Like in high school, many of the professors have 30% percent of their grade centered around attendance. Not participation, but attendance. So yes, I ignored class because everything I needed for an A was provided online. I'm typing this now during Philosophy class, and I am not missing anything. Books are hardly ever used but are "required" according to the professors. They gather dust on my shelf. Most problems here need to be fixed across the nation not just UVU, but I am a very frustrated student in my twenties because I don't know where my money is going. Teachers aren't happy with pay and all have second jobs. The building and resources are really really nice but I rarely need to use them since the internet was invented. UVU in general education has the same quality as Khan Academy except here, there is a physical address they want you to come to. There is a good range of food options but mostly crowded into the same building. Parking is ridiculous and there is no reason to pay $90 a year for the clustered insanity that the school created. Use the darn money to hire a civil engineer for God's sake. Once you pass general education and focus in to better classes, the rooms get nicer and the teaching quality doubles. Don't come here if you're not willing to graduate. Location is fine other than the city planning on the busiest road outside. If you're coming from the south east your drive will be dangerous, traffic is terrible and construction has been in effect for 4 years now. Very annoying. Train station is very convenient and is likely your best choice if you have a transportation method to your nearest station. Students who work feel punished because rent in the area is high, and pay low. Scholarships are handed to those without jobs first, those who aren't working for rent and tuition are the ones handed money from the school. Afternoon/Night classes are poor in options and schedule so working at a volatile job is ever more of a punishment. (Data from a few friends and strangers) Many activities, but the activities most advertised in my buildings were focused for helping women, about guest speakers, for the LGBT community, or cost $15. So I've never been to one, though free lectures and speeches are common. Overall, UVU focuses on medium-to-low education and welcoming everyone with open arms. But once you're here, you may want to transfer to BYU or drop out entirely.Isaac Benge

Coming here was the best decision I have ever made. Every single professor cares about my learning and the fact that the average class size is 23 (I’ve never had a class over 25) makes it so my teachers know me, know my name, know what type of student I am, and some even came to my wedding! I have also been incredibly impressed with the resources. You would have to TRY to fail at UVU, because they truly make it so easy to succeed. From job resources, free tutoring, professor office hours, financial aid and scholarships, and everything in between I honestly feel like every single person I talk to wants me to succeed. The campus is amazing and INDOORS like seriously it is the best part of campus. Shorts in the winter and pants in the summer. Sure parking can be hard, but you are 100% going to find that at any university and it is really only bad after 10am so if you have classes before that you will be fine. The social life is great and the activities are fun and well attended. Free food at all times and tons of on campus food options. I honestly feel like the education I received is worth a million times more than what the tuition is (one of the lowest in the nation for a university). UVU focuses on Engaged Learning, or learning by doing, and most my classes don’t even have textbooks or tests, just projects and resume building it’s amazing. Add that to the fact that it is open enrollment and you can see why it is the largest university in the state. Seriously. Come take a tour at least and see how awesome UVU is.Justine Rupprecht

In all honesty do NOT go here, if you have a better option do not come to this college, it is a over glorified high school. They aren't too expensive which is nice, but they charge many other ways, you must pay to take tests if you are not there the first day, they offer no flexibility when taking classes especially if you are working full time. The professors are 50/50 you either get great ones that work with you, answer quickly to your emails, and are awesome. Or you get awful ones that only two kids pass their class, they will put you on academic probation which I don't get because I am paying to go to school here, so why does it bother them if I failed one class because the professor was awful. Pretty awful education experience. The vast majority of professors are terrible teachers. In fact, it's apparent they care more about their research that the school funds, than the actual students and the material they are teaching. So many teachers seem to have the mindset that "Oh, if these students aren't as passionate about this topic as I am, they are going to fail." Of course, there are a few incredible teachers, but they are few and far between. Not to mention, that a large population of the students act extremely entitled and judgy. Kinda of ironic, considering the school is owned and funded by a church that claims to have the most accurate understanding of Jesus Christ. Attending the school is incredibly cheap, however, to which I will praise. The opportunity to make it through school without any debt is a massive help for many. That being said, plan on changing your major multiple times, because almost every program is extremely competitive and very very difficult to get into. AMAZING!!! BYU runs one of the largest, if not the largest, comprehensive summer youth sports program in the country. They consistently draw student athletes from all over Utah, the Intermountain West, The Unites States and even have a number of international athletes every year. We have sent our own kids for 5+ years in multiple sports. They love it!! They love the week long sport specific camps, the housing option, the friends, camp counselors, student coaches, meals at the Canon Center and ice cream at the creamery store. This is a large campus with a number of different facilities. I love that there is no charge for the Bean museum or the Paleontology museum. The creamery makes just about the BEST I've cream I've ever tasted. The Wilkinson Student Center has a bowling alley and am extensive good court and more. Love the Arts center and basically find there is too much here to tell about, but it's worth a visit just to explore the campus. Love the bell concerts at noon.Leona Keesling

RMU completely changed my LIFE! I have made lifetime friends, and we have been there for each other not only through school-related things but through everything else that life consists of. Career-wise, I went from going to work every day and being satisfied just where I was to having a desire for growth and excellence in my profession. During school, I have received several certifications that have increased my knowledge, and many of them I learned about from my classmates. Now, I am the only SLP in my entire state to provide one particular swallowing treatment and one of about seven people to provide two other treatments. My experience at RMUoHP was amazing. It began with my inquiry and application to the program! I entered RMUoHP to do one thing: obtain my doctorate in speech-language pathology. I left with so much more. Ultimately, I would like to perform well on the real exam come the 24th of March 2023, so my review is somewhat tentative, I suppose. However, as a student who has self-studied in the past for more than one MCAT attempt, this program has superseded my expectations! This program has the following elements: nice, logical structure of material, lessons that are resource-dense and data to monitor progression. Truthfully, ineffective study techniques were partly responsible for my subpar results. However, a large portion of my time was dedicated to using Google search engine to find specific topics I lacked understanding or to supplement my third edition Princeton Review Books. Despite this great initiative, many hours of my precious study time were lost to this search engine strategy, which taxed me and lead to poor performance overall. Furthermore, as I will mention below, other readily available and popular question banks were not specific enough to help me reinforce a given topic. The repeated videos on a specific topic by different lecturers, the MANY flashcards Advanced Pro Plan offers, and the Mastery Questions at the end of each lesson, which are specific to the topics at hand, are super helpful in solidifying the material and making sense of everything. In my experience, other readily available practice banks were not specific enough to the content I was attempting to learn. So, I ended up having to skip many problems in search of the problems that tested the content at hand. Another consequence was having to "work backwards", as I call it, or to review missed questions and refer to missing content material as a form to primarily learn applied content. I felt like a sinking ship because it was evident that I had holes in my content knowledge, but I lacked the appropriate resources to help myself (the internet is VAST with information, but not everything is found so easily). In my experience, this above form of learning did not encapsulate a particular topic in broad strokes to help me understanding a topic in its entirety. It just encapsulated minute facts within a topic. Overall, I am pleased, and as of this written review, my Chemistry/Physics section on tonight's AAMC Mini Exam, which is content that has challenged me the most, is the highest it has EVER been at 127.7, and I am a little over two months into my eighth month study program. While these scores can and will fluctuate, I am seeing real progression in my scores, and I cannot wait to see even more overall progress in all topics. I highly recommend this program to anyone. The one thing I regret was not getting a tutor earlier! I've had the pleasure of working with Grace Eddy, and she has helped me understand how you should approach the MCAT as well as strategies when reading passages. When I first met with Grace, we talked about anxiety and motivation, since I have been out of school for about 2 year now, and she has really helped me changed my mindset. She is always cheerful whenever we have a session and her attitude is just immaculate. Are you thinking of enrolling in Pharmacy school? Well unless you have some compelling connections it is not worth it at all. Do not fall into the trap this school sets by making it sound like they have a high placement rate and that pharmacists make large sums of money. Here is the unfiltered truth. Pharmacy as a profession is suffering and private schools such as Roseman are responsible for the state it is in, by flooding the market. Private schools are willing to accept anyone into their programs in order to keep their doors open year after year. Their tuition continues to rise, and pharmacist pay continues to decrease as jobs become scarce. It is supply and demand, there are more people willing to work than positions available, and businesses capitalize on new grads that work for less, with little to no benefits. If you are someone with connections it is almost a guarantee that you will have to move to the middle of nowhere in order to get a part time job. The school will brag that almost every student has a job when they graduate. What they won’t tell you is that most students that have a job are going to be with CVS working 24 hours a week in a stressful work environment, with no benefits package, and likely over 200k in student loans you will slave to work off. This is not a six-figure job with a 401k and the choice to move anywhere that has a pharmacy. It is cut throat and as the years go on more and more people are going to be crushed by debt and no real career to speak of. Pharmacy used to be a career where only the best got in. 82.7% of pharmacy school applicants are accepted into pharmacy school now (Unable to put URL on google reviews). If you can get a loan now, you are in. This speaks volumes about the state of pharmacy, and how private colleges are negatively impacting not only the job market, and the pharmacy career, but also people’s futures. Roseman and private colleges like it are selling people on a positive future that is simply not there. If schools like this had any respect for people and for our evolving career, they would lower classroom sizes and decrease staff in order to match the job market. Due to the high volume of desperate employees many pharmacy chains are willing to push pharmacists to an unhealthy extreme in the work place, because if the person decides they cannot handle it, or demands more technician help, they can either quit or be fired, then the next hungry for work employee will step in and take the abuse until they are burned out too. If your only endgame is pharmacy, then don’t be surprised when the only options that are available are in some rural towns in Alaska and the border between Mexico and Texas, where you can battle new grads for working hours and reduced salaries. For the rest of the people looking for a rewarding, lucrative career. Check elsewhere because pharmacy has been milked dry.Connor Mathison

Having a BSN AND MS IN NURSING I WENT TO THE DENTAL CLINIC. Stay away. There is minimal guide credit and it is like they are all on their first day. I have been in the dental field my whole like. These students would ask about my friend who would come with me. The majority of the people who laughed at me and were in a niche where the students from the Philippines. I saw this in nursing too. They tend to be in groups, talk their language so others have the patients have no idea what they are saying Just like my experience the dental area the Filipino students have horrible dental chair skills. I could go on and on, but I would stay away from Roseman dental clinic where they make it sound like experienced dentists are doing the work or are right by the chair where the work is being done.. It is cheap but a total joke. Please try other places. Even if you are in the dental program , I was with them and they did horrible things to my mouth. They say you get what you pay for. The Filipinos female and male who worked on my a lot were always asking who is this guy who comes with you? Is he married….. It was repulsive. They never asked me how things went after my last treatments. Most of the dentists either retired or watching over the students that worked on me would walk over then leave and I would never see them that visit again. They did not care what kind of work the students were performing on me.KoolerTrek

For the last 3 days I've been experiencing pain in my rear molars and gums so I decided to visit the Roseman campus in South Jordan. I was seen within 15 minutes even as a walk in with no appointment, more than likely that was the luck of the draw but never the less a great surprise. They were able to take 3 separate x-rays and give me a diagnosis all for only $55.00. Their diagnosis, explanation and recommendations were very clear and precise. I went in there wanting a diagnosis with possible remedies and that's what I got. I'm very happy to have heard of Roseman and will no doubt return when needed, as a matter of fact at these prices I might just make a standing every 6 month appointment. If your a student here at BYU, this is seriously the best place to study. They have quite a few private study rooms with white boards and all. I felt I was really able to get some work. I know that some of the MBA/MPA students weren't always too happy because I was using the rooms, but hey… you got to do what you got to do. Need directions? Don't bother asking. There was no one at the main desk, so I went into the library. If you're lucky enough to get the attention of the person working the desk in the library, all they can do is say I don't know. I wanted to know if the library carried a book I was looking for and the person just gave me an angry look and heavy sigh and told me they couldn't help me and to come back when someone was available at the reference desk. But they didn't know when that would be either. I called later in the day. I wad told I was being transferred to the reference desk, but then I just sat on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up and called again, only to be told no one was available and to call back the next day. I think I'll go to the University of Utah for help now, at least they know how to respond and have a good customer service model.Recreation Nut

This place changed the course of my life. I received a top-shelf education for the cost of buying an uncovered parking space in a city like like Boston. The professors are accessible. The facilities are spectacular and the school setting in the mountains is inspirational. If you don't mind working hard everyday this is the school for you. I am not a student of the BYU law school, but I come to their library almost every day that they are open. I am a self employed free lance writer and I need silence when I work! Well, this is the place to be! If you need a quiet place to study, look no further. I absolutely do not recommend attending the business school at University of Utah. I am a Junior at the school and I graduate in December. I am a 3.55 student and I do put effort towards my classes to get the most out of them. Here are the reasons why you should attend a different school. 1. BCOR. You will hear about this program when you sign up for classes. BCOR is a set of courses at are specific only to the U. They represent basic classes like Finance, Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Accounting. BCOR is the exact same curriculum as these classes. For example, BCOR 3020 Finance is the same as a finance class it is replacing. However, the BCOR class is NOT transferable in or out of the U. So if you take 5 BCOR classes your first year, you are a semester behind if you try to transfer. Keep in mind, they are THE EXACT same curriculum other than this entry BCOR 1010 super entry level class. They may try to make it sound special, it’s not. 2. Upper Division Tuition. Beware of this before you attend the U! The U does have access to this knowledge so they don’t necessarily hide it. I personally looked up average tuition for the university of Utah and it said $8000 a year. In high school, I didn’t think to look further into what I would be paying. (I paid $10500 last semester for 18 credits) ~ $17,000/year. I’m taking two summer classes this summer and it’s $4350. Upper division tuition starts your sophomore year and nothing has been very advanced and I have 21 credits left. Schools like ASU do not have this, it’s not an all around thing by the way. 3. Curriculum. Every time you tour a school they give you some good sounding statistic. “The University of ABC has the best business school in the coordinates between 1256.43 latitude, 3287.31 longitude in the Northeast side of the United States.” Anyways, whatever the U told me, I felt proud and accomplished to go there. That is, until I found myself thinking about what I learned after my first year-not really anything. I remember learning some basic excel, accounting, and economics. But not much more than a few YouTube videos worth. I am graduating in less than 12 months and I’d say I’ve had a few good classes and actually did enjoy my last semester, but there’s honestly not much special about this school’s program. Especially for paying double the tuition. 3. Business scholars. My last point I’ll talk about and it’s more for a specific course. I remember driving up to Utah and the university called me and asked if I wanted to join business scholars for an extra $1000/semester (now I think $2000/semester) It sounded so exclusive and cool! Company tours, traveling to Boeing, business presentations! I showed up on the first day of business scholars and there were so many students that they had to have two sections in the largest lecture room. We had some great trips, the trip to Seattle was truly awesome! We did one other company tour in the first semester to C.R. England. There were organized sections and every few weeks we had a good business presentation. Why am I upset about this? Well I’m not as furious about it as the other reasons, but it’s worth a read if you are considering joining. You are paying a lot more to take this extra class, you do gain some presentation skills and you get to learn a little about the different aspects of business. In our second semester, we did a ski day at brighton and due to Covid, we were sent home half way through the semester without ever doing company tours or allowing anyone to go to the Bryce/Zions trip. They refunded $0 which is extremely upsetting given they didn’t even provide any company tours or the trip. They straight pocketed some of that cash. Even if they could only refund each student $100 due to the cancellation in transportation costs, they should have done it. In accounting I learned that you can’t recognize revenue unless the service has been provided, so I don’t know where they put that on their balance sheet(; Google is telling me this review is getting too long so good luck!(:Caleb Meyer

Once you start taking BCOR classes, you can't transfer out, and then they charge you double your tuition with upper division tuition from sophomore year and up. It is my first day at Westminster College (8/25/2017) in the MPH program and it made a huge transition on my career choice. Currently, most of the Professors are working in the Public Health filed, which provides student with up to date information and challenges of Public Health program. Everyone at Westminster College is welling to help minimizing the level of stress of grade school. It is amazing how they came up with unique program of MPH. It Is a truly different environment from my undergrad University where professors invest the very effort and time on their student career. Beautiful college, small population of students, excellent buildings with useful tools. Absolutely live the gym, its three floors 💞💞 some great professors, but also some poor ones. Make sure to find reviews on your professors or ask to change within the first week. Great theater and events. This college really was a dream come true, I met some of the realist people in my life. My youngest graduates from here in TWO weeks! This college- tho liberal- is incredible with its awareness of current trends and events. They have a keen awareness of humanity and constantly seek out community involvement and mentorship for their students. I have spoken here at their business school I have attended academic events and luncheons on behalf of the community. I’ve toured here with my daughter. Bask in that ambiance and you'll also get a very good industry focused engineering education if you manage to survive with your GPA intact enough to gain employment. Professors admit that it is built to be more difficult than what you will face in the job market to adequately prepare you. Nonetheless, plenty of excellent Professors who care about you, and growing research opportunities. Plus they just made a massive addition to the old building. Go Cougs!Joel Rasmussen

What a great place to become an engineer! I graduated in Mechanical Engineering and loved my time here. The professors, overall, are awesome and are very invested in the students. There are TONS of opportunities for extracurricular learning and fun. There are a bunch of Engineering clubs doing everything from drones to innovation. Professors provide lots of opportunities for students to do undergraduate research. The new engineering building has an excellent, modern technical vibe to it and looks great.Joshua Johnson

What a great place to get a first-rate engineering education at a rock-bottom price! I majored in civil engineering (2004-2010) and I ended up serving in the military for five years and then joining the US Army Corps of Engineers (the world's largest public works agency) as a civilian engineer. Classes are great, overall it is a quality institution. The tuition differential is very expensive. I think it's around 500 dollars extra a class for 3000 level and above courses. If that had been explained to me, I would have no complaints as I either would have found another program I could afford or gone to another school that did not have the surcharge. Instead I got through my 2000 level classes, regularly meeting both in person and via zoom with advisors. When I went to take 3000 level classes my tuition came out to be around 7000 dollars. I pay slightly more than the average student as I have the 1 year alumni scholarship so for most students it probably would look more like 6500. No advisor nor professor ever explained the business school's added cost to me. I also can find very little information regarding the surcharge on the USU website. I went into the office at the school of business and was assured there was a mistake and to talk to the registrar's office. The registrar's office confirmed the surcharge when I called them. This feels like a bait and switch to me but I will let the reader decide for themselves. I am now looking to transfer to a school I can afford or perhaps transferring programs. All told this set me back at least a semester. I am concerned by the lack of transparency I have witnessed and don't want others to have the same problem I have had.Tanner T

This school has given me everything! I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life when I entered college and now I am close to completing a Masters degree in Accountancy. The professors are top notch, the new Huntsman Hall is going to be beautiful, and the price of tuition compared to the value of your education is one of the best deals you could find! If you are at all interested in attending the Huntsman School of Business, I suggest you meet with a few professors/advisers/ambassadors from the school. You will be wowed! I am of PHS class of 2017. All I have to say is that it was beyond my wildest dreams. Participating in a play that was practically an off broadway production was quite the developmental experience. I had the once in a lifetime experience of performing with the Provo High Choirs at Carnegie Hall, NYC. Best of all I found comrades and friends. Ive been to two high schools because I have moved around provo. And when it comes to which high school is better between Provo and Timpview. Timpview is way cleaner has good food. But the teachers suck. The ones at Provo are not that bad. But overall Orem High School is the best.Preatorian Gormley

Honestly I love it here. Smaller classes allow better bonding between classmates and teachers. The people who work the parking station wave at you everytime you drive in and the people who work the cafe are super kind as well. Everyone that works here just seem to actually enjoy their job. Even though the average drive time is about 50 mins, it's well worth it. You actually enjoy what your learning in class and arent stressing as much. Definitely recommend. I have loved taking classes here while at BYU! Not only are the class sizes usually smaller but the professors are often better, with more real world experience and are more understanding of what's going on in your life. The location is prime, really close to the UTA front runner station (5 min) and city creek (10 min). Definitely take classes hereDavis Clark

I take all of my religion classes here cause they are smaller classes and generally not as hard. Things to consider: their isn’t any difference in the difficulty of most classes. Not crowded library at all times of the day, which is niceNate Powley

Program seems more like it was designed to cause pain that to teach you how to be an accountant. Obviously big firms respect your ability to take abuse from a nationally ranked program, but if you think you are going to emerge ready for the CPA exam, think again.Clint Gillespie
