I saw The Messiah here on Sunday. Campus is unbelievable and it was wonderful to feel God's presence on a school campus again. The entire production was amazing and I could not have enjoyed it more. It's very worth finding out more about the story of how it was written first, so when you watch it live you'll have a deeper appreciation. A whole lot has changed since I was attending here. The name of the mascot has changed. Also this was called Point Loma Nazarene College. Speaking of changes, one thing that hopefully hasn't changed is the cafeteria food, most college cafeteria food SUCKS…NOT HERE…the food is/was catered by Marriot. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. I think financial aid is run by Dr.Seuss. It’s a literal circus. They barely answer the phone and Stacy is brutal. I think she wrestled in the WWE. I simply and politely asked about my financial aid app and she punch me in throat so hard I started singing Ave Maria. I didn’t even know I knew the song. This is a great university with students from all around the world, very beautiful buildings, gardens and sport facilities. It was a fantastic experience to study there for an year and enjoy such a nice atmosphere. Just be aware that you need a car to travel in weekends, for Riverside itself does not have many attractions, though it's a cozy city.Michael Rachid

Beautiful campus. So green. I love the Eucalyptus trees. It’s quiet in certain areas and social in others when students are around. A little something for everyone. I wanted to add to this review, which was that I had read through these other reviews here on Google before I signed up for their programs and I have not gotten that experience. I put in the request on a Friday for two of the programs I finished and received TWO of my diplomas in the middle of the next week. I also live 4 hours away from the school, so it may be different depending on where you live. I have been taking online classes with them since the pandemic started. It takes a lot of dedication but I've earned my certificate in Health Administration, my Associates degree in Health Information Technology, and I'm in my last semester for my Bachelors in Healthcare Management. Since I've been here, I've learned a lot and I feel very prepared for the workforce, a completely different field than what I was in before. I found some of the classes I have taken to be very interesting and fun. The instructors are awesome and so are the staff I have met over the phone so far. I LOVE this school it has been a great catalyst for the positive direction of my life and career. With Fremont College I have my Massage Therapy Sports and Rehab AS and my Healthcare Admin and Management BS. I don't know too many people that can confidently say they use their degrees. I 1000% do! I am still a massage therapist and the sports and rehab knowledge gives me a competitive edge. My Bachelor's degree has helped me to progress into management roles in current field with confidence. I always say I have gotten so far in life thanks to this school and not going the tradition university route. It was very beneficial to me that the length of the programs were much shorter than traditional schools and that I was able to apply what I learned almost instantly. I heard that USD is an excellent private university. They have highly accredited teaching, law, technology, language, environmental and psychology schools, as well as a number of others. I also heard that their physical education school is quite good. USD is one of our nation's top rated colleges in regards to higher education and just to get admitted, you must score fairly high on the SAT ( Taking the ACT can always helps too ) and presenting the admissions evaluation committee with a high school GPA that shows that you were in the top percentile of your graduating class is very beneficial; it also helps to have done some volunteer work and to have been on at least one or two high school committees. All of these combined together should help you gain admission to USD. This college is quite competitive-as are most of our best colleges nowadays. Most of USD's professors are seasoned-the best in our country-and very demanding; graduating in four years means a lot of hard work and can be a wearisome task and often taking a couple of summer session classes or a class or two during Christmas break can help one graduate within this time scale. They do offer scholarships however, these are difficult to get and student loans ( Federal Educational Grants can easily surpass fifty-thousand dollars a year! USD's tuition is at the high end of the scale, especially if you live off of campus ( The City of San Diego is amongst the ten highest priced "cost of living" metropolitan areas in the USA ). There are hundreds of nice condominiums, townhouses and apartments within the surrounding area however, the rental rates for a one to four bedroom unit start at about $900 to $1200 per room ( living together ) per month or about $2200 for a two bedroom townhouse/apartment, to $3500+ for a three to four bedroom ; I'm just giving you a general idea…it's a might expensive to live anywhere in San Diego. USD has many of the most beautifully designed buildings in San Diego; architectural masterpieces. Tourists who come to visit San Diego often include this private university in their sightseeing itinerary, as the photographic opportunities around this campus are simply marvelous; especially on a clear winter day from about early afternoon to sunset. They have a small visitors center, as you drive through their main entrance center and if you get lost, you should stop and ask a couple of students and they may be able to help you? There's a lot to see, including San Diego's famed Tecalote State Park, which lies just below the north side of this university.charles chiles

The campus is pretty. The teachers, at least those who are fluent in English, are mediocre, and those whose English language skills are very poor, are token so this campus can brag about being diverse. The dorms are so noisy that it is impossible to do any work in one's own room or get any sleep before 3 a.m. The people responsible for policing the dorms are too lazy and callously indifferent to do anything, and no matter how many complaints are made, it is a nightmare to live in the dirty, smelly and horribly noisy dorms. The religious classes, which are mandatory, are a total waste of time and not based on any accurate facts or historical accuracy. The head of the Student Health Center is dishonest and harmful, willing to smear any student she takes a hatred to. There are no responsible administrative officers to be found if you have a problem. The University accepted my son to the credential program August 2011. After 2 years and more than $32000 in tuition he is not being allowed to do his student teaching because, in the opinion of some professors, he lacks the skills they require. These professionals (who demand that the credential candidates be able to reach and teach all students no matter what their learning styles or disabilities) should be knowledgeable enough to bring out the best in a young man who has wanted to be a teacher since in the seventh grade he was chosen by his teacher to tutor other students in reading. The professionals who are standing in the way of his dream need to evaluate their own teaching. What did they do to ensure my son's success in their program? CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school… Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.Jake Roque

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience,then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. If you're a thinking person, you'll start hating this school not long after you get there. NOT WORTH ITMichael D. Bear

I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. Christian or not, CBU will welcome you with open arms regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, gender, etc..Gabriel Lara

I attended their physical therapist program for a semester and a half (after being offered a fellowship). I have to say, it was one of the most disorganized things i've ever witnessed in my entire life and one of the worst experiences of my life. Luckily, i realized early enough to bail after paying only $40,000. No written policies/procedures for 3 months (they were running late), hard to access labs (you have to be friends with another student, its a "social thing" per administration. Problem is, i dont drink, i dont really like ping pong, and i dont want to date someone in the program, although there were several couples enrolled together in the program. Administration views this as "professional behavior".). There is so much bs, i couldn't possibly fit it all here. If wild conflict of interest is your thing, then this is the place for you. Chapman's mascot is a panther, perhaps their motto is "Chapman University – Where education is predatory."Craig Zach

As always, campus is lovely. I was very impressed by the fact that they maintained the beautiful landscaping and fountains even during the pandemic when they had no students there. Now the people are back, and it is autumn, they have once again shown a beautiful smaller campus…the potential. Lot of people trampling around on the campus and they are still keeping up the appearance. As far as the school is concerned I don't have all that much contact but they certainly seem to have a nice crop of students. The law school however is still suffering significantly, at least among those of us in the field, from their association with John Eastman, he of the Trump insurrection fame. The campus is calm and lovely with a colorful taste of student life. The long standing history of the school provides a global perspective for all students. The support staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is nice and clean. There are reasonable varieties of selections in cafeteria for all meals. I loved my time at the Naval Postgraduate School. I believe that Dean Rich Lyons has a clear vision which inspires key values in staff, faculty, students, alumni, and the general community. The people I worked with at Haas both worked and played hard. I took pride in being a part of a high-functioning team of highly motivated individuals. I felt like I had strong mentors who were very supportive of my own professional development. That said, this is not an organization in which it is easy to move up. Although an employee may show the dedication to work 60 hour weeks for months while only claiming 40, there are no guarantees that a strong work ethic will be rewarded through school awards or promotion. Pros. strong work ethic, hard workers, dedication, fun team, diversity in workload, never a dull moment. This school only employed extremely right wing, openly racist, often under-qualified staff when I was attending from 2003 until my graduation in 2006. The accreditation from this school was not recognized by any State schools or other colleges, so I had to remain at this bigoted institution unless I wanted to spend the time and money to start my education from scratch elsewhere. Your professors really get to know you and you get plenty of connections before you graduate. Also, plenty of study abroad opportunities. Beauty and peace would describe this campus. A very serene environment on the hill overlooking a big part of Los Angeles. Large acres of grass with everything looking like in order and clealiness. Towards sunset you get some incredible pictures of the beachfront. People also seeme very calm and helpful. Starbucks and other food and drink places all around the campus. Because of work schedule commitments, there was no way to continue my education in the traditional brick & mortar classroom environment. I have been a student online for my Associates Degree at Kaplan University, my Bachelor's at Baker College and most recently for my MBA at CCU. Every program has it strengths, but I appreciate the ability to drive my education largely at my own pace allowing me to timely finish classes when it fits into my schedule. As an MBA graduate and now a Doctoral student at CCU, I would never continue my education at this level at a school I did not have 100% confidence in. The professors are fast with grading and question response, as well is the staff. They are always willing to do their utmost to help or assist a student. Many times they go above and beyond what one would expect. For potential students, you really must evaluate if online learning is for you, if you need teachers and students to fuel your motivation level, ANY online college may not be for you; but if you can motivate yourself and know online learning is for you, don't hesitate! I am a veteran and there has never been an issue with their benefits for veterans, take advantage of what you have earned. Busy adults with full-time jobs, you can do it too, you decide what, where, and when you can complete the work, especially if you know the pain of having to participate in a chatroom at a specific time, not here; you are in control of your destiny, as education should be! CCU is one of the most affordable accredited colleges I have researched, and I did a lot before deciding to go back to school…again. If you have any questions, ask them, the staff are excellent and leave nothing to chance, this University has done nothing more than expanded my career options, knowledge base and prospects. If you want a degree, you should go and get it! Don't be fooled though, online learning can be harder than traditional learning and it may take you a little time to get used to it, but don't suffer needlessly, call the school, ask for assistance, see what they can offer and work with you on. I am a 1980, CCU graduate, with a MBA degree. It took me 2 years to complete my degree. One year course work, one year for my thesis. I received my BS degree from the Univ. of Georgia, in Biological Sciences, 1971. All in all, I am glad I got my Masters degree from CCU, but the coursework, was not equivalent to getting an MBA, from a 4 yr accredited university. My thesis preparation & work was indeed tough & challenging. I spent 34 years in the pharmaceutical industry, the last 32 years with the same company. The industry experienced "Black Fridays" where you sat by the phone on a Friday, & waited to receive a call, whether you had a job or not. I went through two of these harrowing events. Both times I was kept. The last time I was kept & actually promoted. It was at these times that my MBA paid off. My colleagues of equal tenure & service time, would be released while I was fortunate enough to stay. I'm firmly convinced it was b/c I had a graduate degree, while they didn't. I am glad to see that CCU has gone on to be accredited by many different organizations. This adds validity to their degree programs. I retired at 56, financially secure for life, & in part, CCU played a role in my career. Hence the 3 star rating.Eric Stevens

I have been enrolled in a doctorate program at California Coast for over a year. This is the best educational experience I have ever had, and I have 4 other graduate degrees. I work and I have several children under age 10, this is completely doable with a busy schedule. I love learning at my own pace with no busy work. No. Busy. Work. My last doctorate degree required multiple weekly forum posts that took 10 hours per week and gave no benefit, in addition to papers and exams. With California Coast, none of my time is wasted. The textbook choices are thoughtful and the exams are well-crafted. I have learned so much and I am enjoying it. The professors provide honest, constructive feedback. It is a phenomenal price, especially if your employer will setup a corporate partnership, and the monthly payments are very doable. I have already recommended California Coast to several colleagues and family members.Jen A

This place is more church than it is a university. Undergrads are required to earn an additional 18 units, 9 credits of Humanities & 9 credits of Religion, on top of your traditional 120 units for a Bachelors. As well as 14 hours of “convo” each semester (look it up). Every staff / faculty member who works here complains about there pay to anyone who will listen. Student advisors and counselors will try to impress upon you their administrative powers. Student Veterans: Both, as a Yellow Ribbon student and (at about 3/4 of the way thru) as a VocRehab (Ch.33) student, Ella from student accounts would withhold all my grants and loans until the government paid the tuition it owed on my behalf. This place is known for its vistas not their academics. You won’t build much of a portfolio to show employers just by going here. Students in the Arts programs here focused more on who to know rather then what to know. Very “Right Wing” policies. Good WiFi in the buildings, not so much outside.Timothy Mitchell

I got accepted to two schools but wanted to start with a summer course at Pepperdine to see how it goes. I enrolled in one class and before the class started I asked professor for the syllabus, and few additional questions. He emailed me he would gladly speak to me about the class I want to take and gave me the phone number to call. I am not a native speaker and I have an accent. When I called, he was very rude, asked me who I am, and then he said I got the wrong number and hanged up on me. I withdrew the class immediately to get my money back and I decided to go to different university instead, with better reputation. There are other better schools out there.Mila Rosey

Not a huge or well known campus compared to other universities, Holy Names is nestled in the Oakland Hills. The facilities and grounds are nicely laid out and have a very peaceful feeling. Apart from the regular curriculum, HNU also offers music programs for young children.Ton T

Once this school may be very good, I also consider applying for this school after my friend's recommendation. But at the moment, the school's enrollment is so large that its teachers can no longer handle so many students. A lot of teachers have left, and a lot of teachers are very demanding. This is not a school that CARES about students at all. They have other things that matter more than students. If you have a choice, don't come to this school.Googel User

Update: my issue has been solved — picked up my check over the weekend with no problem and the university had investigated through the issue. So definitely let the school know if you also have a problem receiving you refund, they will work with you to get it right. SCAM, avoid at all costs. They are a I-20 visa print mill with shady practices .. we had some ‘graduates’ from their school apply to our companies and my friend’s company and their degree wasn’t even worth the paper printed on . The number one reason you are considering going to business school is to improve your career situation, get a better job, move industries maybe even move to another country. If so, Kenan Flagler is not the school for you. Career services have issues with retaining talent, which means that the people who are supposed to help the most are inexperienced. The same is true for the administration, for example, the director of the MBA program is new, the head of career services just quit after a year in her role, her predecessor had similar time in the program. Career professionals for consulting and investment banking are also new. About financial aid- GMAT score might get you financial aid from the school, which for many helps the decisions for ROI reasons, but i offer you not to be tempted by the money. From the top of my head, I'm thinking of at least 3 classmates with full rides and no offers meaning the very qualified people are not doing well because of the current situation at the school. Managment: The management is currently putting its effort into it online MBA program and not in the MBA, from a financial point of view it makes sense, the program has an infinite capacity for students with no GMAT requirements which leads to incredible income from that venue but it also means less attention and investment in full-time MBA students. What I like about KFBS: North Carolina and the Triangle generally is a pretty chill location, cost of living is pretty low and the weather is nice. The academic staff is great and I enjoyed many of my classes. If you enjoy sports the local sports scene is cool.Jefri Tamba

The person who is in charge of the program is making a decision based on her personal preferences and likeness of the candidate. Also, age is another factor for non-admission. A great school with the bells and whistles needed in an MBA program. Biggest complaint can be applied to any other top notch program. Not enough "practical" and too much theory. I went to a brick and mortar ABA law school. I moved back to LA after the first year and found my way to Taft. Taft is more difficult and more enlightening than the ABA school I went to. You really want to know the difference between Taft Law School and Harvard Law School? At Taft, you read your law book at home. At Harvard, you read the exact same law book, but you read it inside of a mahogany-walled library that looks like something out of Hogwarts. Oh, and you pay 4x the price to go to Harvard. Yeah, you got the degree from a prestigious school, but if you know how to practice, it doesn't matter where you went to law school. I went to Taft, and when it comes to motion practice – which is where the vast majority of "fighting" in the practice of law takes place – I regularly wipe my rear end with Ivy League attorneys. And not in little, meaningless cases. I'm talking big time class action regulatory cases. So for any of you out there who are afraid of going to online law school, don't be. If you have the will and discipline to learn, you will have success at Taft. Btw, you need to learn how to study independently for the bar exam anyway. So you might as well start learning how to do it in law school. Taft was great. They have my highest recommendation as a law school.Ralph Sasson

With more than 40 years in the University system, I have an extensive knowledge of campus life and degree programs. I evaluated 52 campuses before selecting Alliant International University for a PhD. The system offers diversity in majors, student body, as well as the faculty are academics and practitioners. I appreciate the instructional choices of face-to-face and online formats. I have completed both types of classes and the instructional quality holds steady in delivery and the students' ability to effectively learn. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Alliant. I believe this degree prepared me for my graduate program, especially the research aspect. I highly recommend furthering your education elsewhere. I was told INCORRECT information by those who likely get paid handsomely to tell their students CORRECT information. I am 1 1/2 years into their Masters program for MFT with 8 classes left. I withdrew from a class during their 2nd Spring AFTER inquiring from both my advisor AND the one stop coordinator Alexis. I was informed by both that I would be fine withdrawing (because I took 2 classes in Spring 1), I would maintain my FA eligibility, all would be good… fast forward 2 months, a slew of emails (initiated by mostly myself) because of multiple balance changes on my account, I am now in arrears for $900 which is expected to be paid before I can enroll in any more classes. I'm disgusted at the way they have handled this and would NEVER recommend Brandman to anyone. This comes on the heels of me having to track down a Professor because of a discrepancy on my grade (my first C). It took this Professor 6 weeks to respond to me, although I really am not surprised considering he felt it necessary to plan a personal vacation our 2nd week of an 8 week class and then called in sick the 3rd class. I mean, its not like the students aren't paying upwards of $2000 for each class, right?! I have filed a complaint with the Dept of Education and will continue to file complaints with whoever I can, because this place should not be allowed to be running with such incompetent individuals handling something as important as a person's education.Kelley C

VETERAN STUDENTS.I have been attending UmassGlobal since it was Brandman. They have dealt with the transition smoothly and ensured my accommodations for my GI Bills were met to receive full BAH. My one stop specialist Lindsey Elsensohn and campus director Melissa Brunson helped me through rough patches when the VA wouldn’t process payment due to online/name change. This school has marketed their military services but never did I expect a freaking campus director to reach out to a student to make sure I was ok. This is the only educational institution where I attended where the staff makes the first move and reaches out to their veteran students rather than wait for something to go wrong and have their students reach out to them. I can’t speak on behalf of everyone as it is not my nor anyone’s place to do so but I will say that UmassGlobal has very military friendly staff members and will go above and beyond to make sure us Vets get full use of the GI bill we earned. I began my studies for my masters during the pandemic and chose brandman / UMass global because our kids highschool used them to allow students to earn both highschool and college credits. However , since I have attended and am almost done, financial aid support greatly lacks , many teachers should not be teaching, and advisors not really helping but referring you to other advisors. Everyone gives you vague answers when you do get a response and there is a great lack of communication among departments. Had someone given me a heads-up I would have waited a little longer and gone to one of the other schools that accepted me, brandman just had a faster start time. I have talked to other grads and they all feel the same as I do. So please save yourself the headache and learn from us , do your homework ask questions and make sure you feel comfortable before attending here, also once you start your credits are not transferable if you decide to switch schools. This school needs alot of work.Dan
