20 Best Mba Programs In Mcallen, TX (2022 Updated)

This is a great university! The psychology undergrad program prepared me for success in my current counseling psychology master’s program quite well. The faculty are fantastic and the campus is gorgeous. I appreciated Spanish tutoring with Dr. Escamilla provided by the school as well as numerous career development, grad school application, recreational, and internship placement opportunities! I only wish it was a bit more affordable as even with scholarships it’s quite pricey. But, I am glad they pay their faculty, and I do think they spend the money well on resources that directly positively impact students. They have a career resource center that’ll help alumni with resumes, searching for jobs and more! The gym and yoga studio are great. One of my psychology professors had us meditate as part of class and we did things like go outside to paint together and go to yoga! It was a positive psych class so it fit. This isn’t to say the university was easy or without academic rigor because it was challenging and involved plenty of difficult academic work including research! I do feel it was social justice oriented as I appreciated the Mexican American cultural class in Spanish I took told from an indigenous professor and perspective, though to be even more socially just, reduce the price of tuition! I enjoyed that I knew at least half of the faculty and they knew me and remembered me and would say hi years after I took their class; so much better than just being a number in a big lecture hall! It may not have the rankings or prestige of some larger universities and how can it being so small, but the quality of education and experience is high. Only 1 student was mean to me 1 time my entire undergrad career. Really recommended! I would not have been prepared for my current grad program without SEU…don’t think I would have even gotten in otherwise because I was taught at SEU how to write an ideal essay, APA publication format, interview and interpersonal skills, and was able to achieve high grades because the learning experience is so high; I got my disabilities accommodated for instance. Literally the only reason I cannot give 5 stars is the exorbitant cost that limits many people so they can’t attend or will have a lot of debt. Otherwise, fantastic!Alysia Duemler

I completely agree with a post below about how much I loved this school, yet upon graduation I felt lost and unprepared for the “real world”. I think the staff and curriculum is amazing, I wouldn’t choose differently, but St Eds was like a dream state of mind. That being said , I have obtained a different bachelors degree since graduation and changed my field of study. More real world practicality from the programs perhaps would help prepare future graduates to succeed ! Thank you st Ed’s for an amazing undergrad experience nonetheless, that I will cherish forever. I wanted to make a shitpost review but I can't think of anything funny and I also honestly really like St Eds. It's a good school. If you're ambitious, passionate, and hard working, the teachers will do everything in their power to help you succeed, even if you have mental illness or other problems most people might look down on you for. I really think I'm going to have a good shot at grad school with the support I've gotten at St. Eds and that's not something I'd be able to say about many other schools.Christina

The housing staff is horrible, they have put 2 charges on my account and they admitted to not knowing how they got my name however they refused to take it off even when the camera showed I never stayed, 3 weeks later I spoke to Hr for them to remove it and they did it the same day. The other one was removed 2 weeks later after the payment date. I would also recommend you bring in your own food or check it before leaving the dinning hall. I found so much mold and was served under cooked to many times. The drinks apply as well check the ice whole before u get if there is black stuff around it use the other machines.(not sure if they are gonna clean up before the fall but there is also mold in between the soda machines) Not only the dinning side but be careful with the soda/juice in the deli side the they both are spoiled. And check the expiration date of each snack you do choose to take I had 3 month old jello and I still can’t get that’s fussy taste out my mouth. Either side will not hesitate to sell old milk or old food and bunch it all up to be given out on the weekends. There is a wëëd problem at this school as well so be careful because if anyone in your dorm doesn’t it you maybe be accused of doing it as well by the campus police. Not on to the professors, you need to hold some of their hand and walk them three days the grading process. I had 3 professors(1 was in person and the other 2 was online) last semester wait til the end of the semester to grade everyone from my midterms to out introductions at the beginning. For online teachers make sure you double check their comments after they grade and read up on stuff ahead of time so u can message them early because they don’t respond to message in a timely manner. Navarro College was STELLAR! As a former Bulldog, I'm proud to have called this school my home. Professors are knowledgeable and interesting individuals, the staff are all charming and helpful, and the atmosphere of the entire facility is one of safety and growth. Plus, Dr. Fagan (the man in charge of it all) is incredibly personable and makes a point of greeting and interacting with students every chance he gets! The staff at the Corsicana campus are very rude. Upon inquiring about something the registrar didn’t know about; she went on to yell at me over the counter while the lobby was full of other students. There are only a handful of instructors that are dedicated and willing to see their students succeed. After all we pay to go there and I believe that the students need to treated with a bit of respect. The Cashiers are generally nice and will help you out.Nethmal Perera

WT is a great place to go for a degree that you won't spend 30 years paying off. Some of the experiences can be a pain(finding out how much your payments are initially and when they're due, inconsistent information in their various systems on what classes are required for the degree).Alex Kitchens

This University has a lot of shady practices going on. Please be careful with taking information given by financial aid employees as fact. I have been given conflicting information from this department to where I feel I can no longer trust them. I HIGHLY recommend doing emailing communications with them and BCC other departments that is pertinent to your concern for a second opinion. It's unfortunate, but employees will lie and say they did not say a certain thing to keep their jobs and will lie about what was said with no problems. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this school. I live on campus and a week can’t go by without something breaking. I’m beginning to think Lamar puts LITERAL bandaids on things to “fix” the problem. Also the dorms are not what I’d call clean. I moved into my summer dorm a few days ago and the place was infested with gnats. I’ve killed at least one hundred of these things in a matter of a few days. Daughter is a Freshman there this year. I’m completely impressed with the campus And the dorms are amazing never seen ones so nice. The student resources are the highlight for me, the learning lab for learning disabilities is simply perfect. Four year liberal arts and science university with graduate degrees in several disciplines. Affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, Hardin-Simmons University also offers theological education, including doctoral programs, through its Logsdon Seminary. The library has a great collection of Texas archives. Nice residential facilities, several new structures. Known for it's religious activities, the university undertakes several community service and missions projects every year. With the Cowboy theme, the sports program is well known. The school turned an opportunity for discussion into another example of how free speech is only allowed when it matches the current worldly view. I really question whether anybody that says UM is racist/riot fueled has ever been a student here. I can personally attest to the acceptance and diversity of the school. I've liked most of my professors, and other students have been friendly. I can honestly say that I've learned a lot from my classes and have been presented a lot of opportunities to succeed. If anyone works hard to get here, Ole Miss has many teachers and programs to reward you for your effort. That's what I look for in a college. We get bad press because we are in the South and it makes us an easy target for the media. They like to play off the stereotype that we are some backwards racists. Ask any student here about the "riot" and they'd probably laugh. I would challenge anyone to find a college that doesn't have any students that discriminate. Ole Miss is absolutely amazing! I love it for undergrad I am enjoying it for grad school and the advisors are one of a kind because they are actually invested in helping the students! I will say that as a commuter paying out of state tuition is not that great, if I can drive there daily I should be able to pay in state tuition. Also, it takes a while to get your financial aid, the office is always working and have people on task but if you can’t get into the office for some reason email, phone calls, and zooms as your secondary option takes much longer. As a parent, teacher, and full time student I rely heavily on my financial aid and each time it is just a hassle, I wish the process was smoother.Katrina McCrackin

Oxford is the best place to live in the south. There's always something to do and a great place to raise children. I loved attending Ole Miss and love my Rebels! I can't really complain about anything. We're close enough to travel to a beach, casino, Beale and Bourbon Street, yet we'd rather be sitting in The Grove on a home game weekend. 'Business is Personal' is tagline of the school and everyone makes it sure to follow it completely. MBA itself is difficult and time consuming but from students, professors to career coaches and admission staff put in lot of efforts to help us as much as possible. Concentration wise – SCM and marketing are really good. I cannot speak for other as I am not aware of the details. Financial aids – School offers tremendous support in this if you are eligible and great candidate. Future Forward – The latest curriculum is very new to be reviewed but core strengths are similar so should be great value addition in near future. Placements- Graduate Career Center helps a lot with recruiting events and career coaching. International students have limited opportunities and have to try harder (but it is not specific to school). Summer Internship is compulsory. Class size – small cohort helps a lot. This was one of my major reasons for selection.Jefri Tamba

Additionally, the Student Engagement team pours their heart into ensuring students are getting involved, have access to leadership positions, and feel connected to the school. The Career Management and Employer Engagement team also provides students with a plethora of internship/job opportunities, resume/cover letter support, and interview prep. This business school has a great reputation, and although I knew that coming in as a student, I got way more than what I was expecting from it over my 4 years here. The professors, faculty, and even the alumni will never say no if you need help and they will do the best they can to help you get where you want to be school/career-wise. Great school for engineering and decent for nursing. Business school will depend on your work and the professors you choose(from 1-4 ⭐️). The support sucks. Try calling financial aid or student accounts and you know how living in purgatory feels like. One hour of waiting on the line is typical and if you wanna use the outdated mymav website to get help without calling them, good luck 😉 The number in the picture below belongs to student accounts department who will drop you from all your classes when u owe money so you need speed dealing with them. I suggest you’ll go there physically even if you’re infected with Covid19 as you have a better chance of reaching them in person. And the pictures following the call are from when i went to student accounts in person and the line for service goes into a second building. If I could give this university a zero star, I would do it. As an international student, I have millions of terrible experiences with this university. The graduate school and the international students office have been really really rude. They will try to frustrate you using any way they could. Also, the insurance requirement for international students have been so unfair. They will charge you lots lots of money for the insurance for the summer time even though you are not enrolled in any classes during the summer. Also, the staff working in the graduate school have been so rude and know very little. Some of the graduate and undergraduate classes have been so meaningless and do not worth the money.yaqing cao

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. Somethings have not changed at all about this wonderful for school even after 18 years. Despite being reminded of how old I’ve gotten, I was first introduced to the school back in 2000 when I was being recruited to play soccer here and everything about the school and the people that work there were just amazing, genuine and friendly. Now I’m trying to do work with career and job fairs and the people that are working there are still extremely kind and helpful. I’ve spoken to several universities and colleges today and in this past week and I had one person that went out of their way to Dallas Baptist University just answer a bunch of questions for me and help me out and point me in the right direction. The difference is that she spent more time doing it and was patient and did not look at it as if it was a hassle or obligation and even helped find me some additional ways to get back onto the campus. I’ve had a lot of friends and family members graduate from that school including recent family members and I have a cousin that is about to attend that school and I could not be happier that they are going to a place with such a great faculty and staff along with a beautiful campus. I recommend if you have any questions about career fairs, job fairs, student services, or general questions at all you call and speak to Akita Cook. She was so patient and helpful and stayed on the line with me longer than all the other colleges I’ve spoken with combined. I hope that she is given recognition for this as this is a lost attribute at most schools now with everything being automated for students, employers, and others who find it difficult to even reach someone much less have the excellent service from this employee of this great university. I attended DBU from 2010-2014 and graduated with a B.B.A in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. The only regret I have is not choosing to do the fast track program where you can get your Bachelor's and Master's in 5 years. My time at DBU completely changed my life for the better. The professors there are amazing and genuinely care about their students. I still remain friends with some of my professors to this day. The atmosphere in general is really uplifting and so positive. I was in a sorority during my time at DBU and fostered many friendships, some of them lifelong. If I could go back and do it all over again I would. I also participated in the Discipleship Program (highly recommended) for two years and had the most amazing mentor who completely changed my life. DBU really is an amazing school filled with countless opportunities and countless ways to build community with other students. I applied to one of their online Master’s program and got accepted for the 2022 Fall term. Filled out everything, paid the app fee, paid for all of my official transcripts (this would have been my 4th degree), got to the advising appointment only to be told that all of my questions I needed to “look into on my own”….. I work in higher education and these are thing the advisor should have been able to answer. Then she tells me the code to look at classes after the appointment, which was odd, only to find out the two classes I was going to register for were full and she wasn’t even looking at them at the time of the appointment. This is not how advising is supposed to work. Since I have an existing Master’s I wanted to see if any of my credits could transfer in with a maximum of 6 credit hours. If classes wouldn’t transfer due to program alignment, that would have been fine. However, the reasoning was “ Since you did earn the degree with those courses, he doesn't feel that we can also use them to complete the MA degree.” I’m sorry, what??? I personally do not agree with this. Emory is a racist school. Career management center and Wendy Tsung do inform employer who to interview and who to hire. This is mainly based on race, religion and gender within school. Several times it is already decided by the campus recruiters and employers even before they come to campus and perform actual interview. Moreover, company presentation and recruiting event is open for the certain group of people. This is clear discrimination within school. Emory is charging too much money for the MBA. Emory University's GBS is an elite b-school with some of the best, most knowledgeable professors in the country specializing in the various fields of business. The program support and leadership staff are nothing short of supportive and helpful to the class. I've visited ACU for Admitted Day on November and New Student Orientation two months ago in late June. Everyone are very nice. From all the colleges I've visited, I chose ACU because they have an excellent academic program, have a strong Music & Business department (I'm majoring in Music and planning to major in Finance as well), it is truly a Christ-centered environment not in name only, everyone makes you feel loved and you feel like you're at home. Great school with good profs and good degree programs. A delightful and winsome Christian environment. I did my BA and MA there. My only real complaint is with the financial aid department. I ended up with $80,000 in student loan debt (after a half-tuition scholarship) because no one bothered to explain how the process worked. To the alumni that posted comments relative to smoking and ABET accreditation, I would like to share the following in my role as SET Dean: 1. We have become an almost no-tobacco usage campus. The many cigarette butts around our buildings prompted me to become one of the principal architects of the policy that has been in place for over a year. As with major shifts, culture change does take a little time! Having said that, I do not recall anybody complaining about the cigarette butts. 2. The Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering programs have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET since 1983, 1986, and 2009 respectively. This information is publicly posted on our site and ABET's. Now that we have graduates from the Mechanical Engineering program, we will be submitting that for initial review in January 2018. I im currently enrolled in the Master of laws program in St. Marys Law School. I will rate one star because for me as an international student its a shame that i can not choose my own courses. They have to be approved by a guy named Robert Summers which his arbitriarism is out of the world. When i came to San Antonio looking to extend my knowledge in the american law i never imagine that i could not do so because i had to follow the preference of someone else. My goal was to specialice in Immigration which was not possible because this proffesor wanted me to take courses that i wouldn't like (TO FIT THE BAR EXAM EVEN IF YOU DONT WANT TO TAKE IT AT ALL) Im very dissapointed with St Mary's School of Law. I attended St. Mary's for 3 years and left with a Bachelor's of a Arts & a teaching credential. I found it to be an excellent school, as have many friends. There is literally not one part of this school that isn't actively trying to make everything horrible. They know they can't possibly be held responsible, so they don't care. Dealing with housing is like jumping through 100 hoops that are invisible and on fire. They don't tell you anything until the very last moment when it's too late. Registering for classes is just as hard. I was on track to graduate early and then they change the requirements which made multiple classes not count towards my degree and added new ones that aren't even available. The security is non-existent. The school is entirely aware of the dozens of bikes being stolen over the course of the past year. Still not a single camera watching any of the bike racks and they will fine you if you keep your bike inside. People try to open your door at any time. Whether it be 3am or 3pm. The dining hall is closed for every single break with no other options or awful ones. People live here, a lot without personal transportation. That's why the dining hall exists. They find every way imaginable to make more money off of their students. They will give you 3 parking tickets within 4 hours even with a parking pass, but they be soooo gracious enough to lower the fines after 3 weeks of pending the appeal. I've heard professors talking about how "stubborn" another professor is and how "they will use a textbook and curriculum until it's completely obsolete". They will give you 12 hours notice before you move dorms after telling you it'd be a month. They have partnerships with McGrawHill and probably every other online workbook which means students are forced to pay almost $200 for each class for a membership that teaches students absolutely nothing.Hayden Watts

Baylor is an amazing school. For a few reviews before me we are not all "rich kids wanting to blow daddy's money" or "rude". I personally have a bad background that would not match the first statement. I am not rich. I am blessed to be in this university thanks to scholarships and my hard working mother. Baylor itself is a blessing. Its a rigorous school BUT very well worth it. I love being part of the Baylor community. Its a beautiful campus filled with loving people. Its not "perfect" because nothing is. There will be a few issues like yes there are some kids who don't care and my be rude or blow things off but really if you are a part of it you will see the majority of the campus and the people here are more than amazing and loving. This is a fantastic university for the liberal arts. I have talked to people from other universities and to those that have come to visit me at college, and all of them see a difference in the student body. There is just a different atmosphere. All the people are kind and welcoming and always willing to help in times of need. The professors are nationally ranked and are not only outstanding in their fields of study, but wonderful people as well. Even if you're not looking to go to college, its a beautiful campus to just walk around in. It's almost like a park in some ways. Just give it a visit and I promise you'll be hooked! I loved my time as I attended Baylor for undergrad, and grad school (2008-2015). The campus has changed so much since i first step foot in 2008 (all for the better). Baylor (and Waco) is in a resurgence/growth period. Its an awesome time for Baylor and Waco. I loved my time there even though I'm not religious (agnostic/theist). Great people (students and especially faculty), and community. There was a reason why I came back to get my masters at Baylor. They helped me get through some rough times, and i am better for it now. I had an amazing experience at Booth. The program and culture live up to the mantras of "Challenge everything" and "Independent thought" in my experience. Personally, I was drawn to the fact that there is no one path at Booth — you're not forced into a cohort, you're not told which classes you have to take, you're not assigned to study teams and instead, you have the freedom to chart your own course (within some guidelines of course!) and you gain much wider exposure (e.g., taking classes with 2nd years). Looking back, the LEAD course was extremely helpful and I apply those lessons about leadership and self-awareness everyday now. The student culture is very strong (and different than what many perceive) — it's a bit different from other schools where there's a concentrated campus that everyone lives near and again, things aren't dictated for you. I was incredibly impressed by my classmates — not just their intelligence and career drive but also their passion for traveling and experiencing the city of Chicago. I did not find it to be competitive at all – I think because of the grade non-disclosure but also in recruiting, I had so much help from my classmates. A bit about my experience: I was a career changer. I worked in HR before and worked in consulting afterwards (boutique/startup firm in Chicago). My course specializations were Strategy, Economics, and Marketing. I was very involved with the Admissions team while there, serving on the student adcom, leading tours, planning admit weekend, etc. I also loved the Business Solutions Group where I worked on a pro-bono consulting project for a non-profit education company. I lived in Hyde Park (rare for Booth students, but I loved it). My advice to future applicants: engage with the Booth community as much as possible. Visit campus, sit in on a class, talk to students and alums, connect with the alumni group in your closest city. Be prepared to have reasons for "Why Booth" beyond just the finance reputation and flexible curriculum.Jefri Tamba

Austin Golsbee is the economics teacher that is Arrogant and example of was wrong in today’s society that someone like this has position of influence on people . He only likes to look at one side and doesn’t look at all the information. he likes to brag about what he has accomplished. The only thing he has accomplished is a bad education stay away from the school they will miss inform you and give you are useless education. We are paying a $2,400+ debt for an untrained staff member’s mistake. My husband applied for this school, signed up for classes & a dorm. He decided to go somewhere cheaper & somewhere that actually had his major. He called to cancel everything & was falsely informed. He was told he would be dropped & that everything was finished & he was good to go. Of course when you tell someone they will be “dropped”, you obviously think you’ll be taken out of the school & will be “good to go”. Soon after we find out he has a debt of about $2,000! We have tried to fight it & they were not having it. They sent our case to a collection agency & now there is a $400+ fee in addition to the $2000. This school is the worst & will do anything to get your money! I myself, was a student for only a semester & was miserable. The staff sucks, not helpful at all (obviously) & the school does not try to reach out to their students in activities, etc. I lived on campus & it was not worth the money so I transferred back home in Houston. The dorms.. every night there is yelling, the smell of weed, etc. The cops patrol the streets but not very well. I do not recommend this school at all. The city around is non-existent & all there is to do is clubbing & drugs. Once you attend this school, you’ll know the regret & the waste of momey it is. Thanks for your time, I just don’t like how the school is winning in our case. We still have to pay this debt due to a dumb staff member who told us we were “good to go” & is too coward to not deny it. Thanks for the debt! (Probably some stupid student helper because that’s what this school runs on with no actual teacher to teach. Just student helpers with also no teacher supervision). This school also has very little majors & you will most likely need to transfer (like me) which means the basics you take here may not apply to your degree & is more expensive than a community college or a college that has the actual major you was. Anyone else notice the staff in the reviews just to gain some 5 stars? That’s how helpless this school is.Kaitlin R

Absolute joke of a university. This is my second time applying and both have been ridiculous. First time around paid all application fees and everything, took in my physical official transcripts (etc). They took 2 1/2 months to get back to me just to say they misplaced my transcript and wouldn’t be accepting me since they didn’t have one (they never bothered telling me to take in another one). This time around I thought I’d give them another chance. Same exact thing. I applied December 5th and turned in all my documentation. Applied for spring and called the lady who said it would take ten business days for my application to process. About a month went by and I was emailing admissions who basically kept copying and pasting the same response saying to check myself to see when the application is reviewed. Called only to talk to a rude lady who stated that I need to be patient because their only one person doing application reviews(if you know it’s busy after Christmas why not have more then one person?) now today January 17 the day classes have officially started I check and they finally reviewed it. But only reviewed it and stated they needed my college transcript yet again even though I sent it and they have it marked as received. They didn’t even bother calling me and telling me this info. When I spoke to the lady she stated they have everything they need. My advice is stay far away from this university. I have been there a few times for friends and events. Campus is old and falling apart, not anything to do around campus, their customer service and staff is rude and unprofessional. I receive way better assistance at the community college I attended. I recommend anywhere but here, the majors and price may be enticing but it’s not at all worth the hassle STAY AWAY.Zachry Smithwick

This is a good University offering valuable courses on engineering, agriculture and business at cheaper rates, even for internationals. But, if you are coming with an intention to pay tuition and fee with most of the amount through part-time and jobs it may not work well. The reason is of its location, in a small village and a little bit far from any town. The second reason is a lot of universities around Texas where students compete for a little fewer part-time jobs. But, if you want to get good grades and want to spend most of your time during college or at school on education and want to receive a degree from a good university like the one it works well. The campus map you can see is not so clear as the other universities and you can watch a clear view of campus in you-tube. There are many videos that have a clear picture of the campus. Also don't expect the university to be too beautiful. It is neither a beautiful university nor an opposite. It is not a university that focuses too much on campus architecture, but has a lot of scholarship opportunities if you are at a good standing. Please don't post an improper review without a clear picture of what's happening around here which makes people think of what the University is, even though it's not of a kind you speak. I heard that USD is an excellent private university. They have highly accredited teaching, law, technology, language, environmental and psychology schools, as well as a number of others. I also heard that their physical education school is quite good. USD is one of our nation's top rated colleges in regards to higher education and just to get admitted, you must score fairly high on the SAT ( Taking the ACT can always helps too ) and presenting the admissions evaluation committee with a high school GPA that shows that you were in the top percentile of your graduating class is very beneficial; it also helps to have done some volunteer work and to have been on at least one or two high school committees. All of these combined together should help you gain admission to USD. This college is quite competitive-as are most of our best colleges nowadays. Most of USD's professors are seasoned-the best in our country-and very demanding; graduating in four years means a lot of hard work and can be a wearisome task and often taking a couple of summer session classes or a class or two during Christmas break can help one graduate within this time scale. They do offer scholarships however, these are difficult to get and student loans ( Federal Educational Grants can easily surpass fifty-thousand dollars a year! USD's tuition is at the high end of the scale, especially if you live off of campus ( The City of San Diego is amongst the ten highest priced "cost of living" metropolitan areas in the USA ). There are hundreds of nice condominiums, townhouses and apartments within the surrounding area however, the rental rates for a one to four bedroom unit start at about $900 to $1200 per room ( living together ) per month or about $2200 for a two bedroom townhouse/apartment, to $3500+ for a three to four bedroom ; I'm just giving you a general idea…it's a might expensive to live anywhere in San Diego. USD has many of the most beautifully designed buildings in San Diego; architectural masterpieces. Tourists who come to visit San Diego often include this private university in their sightseeing itinerary, as the photographic opportunities around this campus are simply marvelous; especially on a clear winter day from about early afternoon to sunset. They have a small visitors center, as you drive through their main entrance center and if you get lost, you should stop and ask a couple of students and they may be able to help you? There's a lot to see, including San Diego's famed Tecalote State Park, which lies just below the north side of this university.charles chiles

The campus is pretty. The teachers, at least those who are fluent in English, are mediocre, and those whose English language skills are very poor, are token so this campus can brag about being diverse. The dorms are so noisy that it is impossible to do any work in one's own room or get any sleep before 3 a.m. The people responsible for policing the dorms are too lazy and callously indifferent to do anything, and no matter how many complaints are made, it is a nightmare to live in the dirty, smelly and horribly noisy dorms. The religious classes, which are mandatory, are a total waste of time and not based on any accurate facts or historical accuracy. The head of the Student Health Center is dishonest and harmful, willing to smear any student she takes a hatred to. There are no responsible administrative officers to be found if you have a problem. This is not the place if you care about getting a solid and admirable education.Susan Lea

The University accepted my son to the credential program August 2011. After 2 years and more than $32000 in tuition he is not being allowed to do his student teaching because, in the opinion of some professors, he lacks the skills they require. These professionals (who demand that the credential candidates be able to reach and teach all students no matter what their learning styles or disabilities) should be knowledgeable enough to bring out the best in a young man who has wanted to be a teacher since in the seventh grade he was chosen by his teacher to tutor other students in reading. The professionals who are standing in the way of his dream need to evaluate their own teaching. What did they do to ensure my son's success in their program? What can they teach others when they themselves have failed as teachers?Mark Leonard

Great business school and a mecca for all things business in the Lone Star State. As UH has just recently been recognized as a tier 1 university it shows within all their colleges, especially Bauer. From PES to the Wolfe Center for Entrepreneurship UH has it all. For best.parking I recommend that you get a parking pass in the east garage or try and fight for one of the 220 spots in the visitor hourly parking in the east garage. Much of the SCSU campus is beautiful & worth a long walk or bike ride. Lovely historic old buildings & newer buildings show fascinating architecture. Plenty of gardens, benches & green space. Perfect for a decent environment on campus. Nice planning by SCSU leadership! Congrats! Unfortunately…. the city of St Cloud didn't have the same insight & planning skills. Some of the surrounding college neighborhood buildings are owned by cheap, incompetent, opportunistic landlords. Many rental houses & apartments are Ugly eye sores….and this reflects poorly on SCSU!! WHY THE HELL did the city of St Cloud not have stronger building, housing rental codes & regulations? For many years the City Council & other city leadership groups failed SCSU. The nearby older historic homes (on lovely tree lined streets) were once very nice….yet were allowed to seriously deteriorate & become a drawback. This has hurt SCSU regarding new perspective students, home buyers, businesses & visitors. Shameful….for years there must have been Very poor, weak, inept leadership in the city of St Cloud!!! I realize there have been some recent efforts to turn this neighborhood mess around. But the pitiful planning & damage was done over many decades….and the city is facing a very uphill battle. And sadly… SCSU has been left holding the proverbial bag.Richard Quigley

St Clous State isn’t too bad if you don’t care or aren’t paying out of your own pocket. The quality education is low. Lack of resource for students to succeed. Decent professors. Cleaning staffs and financial administration are great. Lacks student diversity and safety. Dorm security needs to be more secure, especially in Sherburn Hall. SCSU get most of their money from international Napel students. Student population is 80% Napel. Highly discourage anyone to attend. First semester/year, you’ll wish you never wasted time and money on SCSU. That’s why their graduation rate is so low (below 50%), students transfer out after attending the first semester/year. Academic Advisors are burnt out, and 1 per program with over 100 students. They don’t know what they’re talking about most of the time. Double check your transfer credits with the head professor of the actual department.Asia Love

Homecoming was fun but not very many participants. The school originally pushing it into October didn't help and then canceling it all together for a large part of a decade. The alumni and students kind of either don't remember or are apathetic towards the concept. The city and the school need to work together with the alumni, student organizations (especially the greeks who have a vested interest in their alumni) to make people interested in coming back every year. Downtown was dead too. School and City should benefit from each other.Jim F.
