This is a great university with students from all around the world, very beautiful buildings, gardens and sport facilities. It was a fantastic experience to study there for an year and enjoy such a nice atmosphere. Just be aware that you need a car to travel in weekends, for Riverside itself does not have many attractions, though it's a cozy city.Michael Rachid

Beautiful campus. So green. I love the Eucalyptus trees. It’s quiet in certain areas and social in others when students are around. A little something for everyone. Everyone knew each other, it was a 2-year stint, and it was a fun social experience. I wanted to add to this review, which was that I had read through these other reviews here on Google before I signed up for their programs and I have not gotten that experience. I put in the request on a Friday for two of the programs I finished and received TWO of my diplomas in the middle of the next week. I also live 4 hours away from the school, so it may be different depending on where you live. I have been taking online classes with them since the pandemic started. It takes a lot of dedication but I've earned my certificate in Health Administration, my Associates degree in Health Information Technology, and I'm in my last semester for my Bachelors in Healthcare Management. Since I've been here, I've learned a lot and I feel very prepared for the workforce, a completely different field than what I was in before. I found some of the classes I have taken to be very interesting and fun. The instructors are awesome and so are the staff I have met over the phone so far. I LOVE this school it has been a great catalyst for the positive direction of my life and career. With Fremont College I have my Massage Therapy Sports and Rehab AS and my Healthcare Admin and Management BS. I don't know too many people that can confidently say they use their degrees. I 1000% do! I am still a massage therapist and the sports and rehab knowledge gives me a competitive edge. My Bachelor's degree has helped me to progress into management roles in current field with confidence. I always say I have gotten so far in life thanks to this school and not going the tradition university route. It was very beneficial to me that the length of the programs were much shorter than traditional schools and that I was able to apply what I learned almost instantly. CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school… Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.Jake Roque

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience,then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. If you're a thinking person, you'll start hating this school not long after you get there. NOT WORTH ITMichael D. Bear

I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. Christian or not, CBU will welcome you with open arms regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, gender, etc..Gabriel Lara

I attended their physical therapist program for a semester and a half (after being offered a fellowship). I have to say, it was one of the most disorganized things i've ever witnessed in my entire life and one of the worst experiences of my life. Luckily, i realized early enough to bail after paying only $40,000. No written policies/procedures for 3 months (they were running late), hard to access labs (you have to be friends with another student, its a "social thing" per administration. Problem is, i dont drink, i dont really like ping pong, and i dont want to date someone in the program, although there were several couples enrolled together in the program. Administration views this as "professional behavior".). There is so much bs, i couldn't possibly fit it all here. If wild conflict of interest is your thing, then this is the place for you. Chapman's mascot is a panther, perhaps their motto is "Chapman University – Where education is predatory."Craig Zach

As always, campus is lovely. I was very impressed by the fact that they maintained the beautiful landscaping and fountains even during the pandemic when they had no students there. Now the people are back, and it is autumn, they have once again shown a beautiful smaller campus…the potential. Lot of people trampling around on the campus and they are still keeping up the appearance. As far as the school is concerned I don't have all that much contact but they certainly seem to have a nice crop of students. The law school however is still suffering significantly, at least among those of us in the field, from their association with John Eastman, he of the Trump insurrection fame. I don't know how that will pan out for them. Still…. Worth a wander amount the grounds & the fountains with a coffee.James F. Haas

The campus is calm and lovely with a colorful taste of student life. The long standing history of the school provides a global perspective for all students. The support staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is nice and clean. There are reasonable varieties of selections in cafeteria for all meals. My daughter just graduated from Cal U. She had an excellent experience and enjoyed her 4 yrs there. She has continued to a masters program at Pitt and has had no trouble finding work or getting accepted into other programs. All universities function in a similar way and it's up to the student to take advantage of all the opportunities that the school offers. Very nice but small University. Very clean and there were lots of campus police around. The cafeteria was limited on options. They could definitely do better with that. Probably the worst options from any of the 10-15 campuses we've visited. Only other downside is it's literally in the middle of nowhere. Nothing is around. I believe this is a good school. I think I got a good graduate level education here. The tuitions are reasonable. Being in a less urban area, it is usually easier to find parking than the university where I completed my undergraduate degree. If I could rate less than one star, trust that I would. I heavily appreciate spending x amount of money to attend this private university. Only to arrive out of the blue to commemorate my experience as an alumni from 2016. And security from all entrances refused me access without an appointment. Why would I want an appointment? The career center didn't help me out to get any job anyways, even when I was attending. I simply wanted to view the design shadow boxes on the second and fourth floors, that the students pride themselves on. Don't spend your time or money ladies! Choose FIT (fashion institute of technology in nyc). I choose FIDM over FIT, such a mistake, such a pity. I don't care to associate with this college, I'm not even proud to be an alumni anymore. Shouldn't even be allowed to call themselves a university. That would require them to actually care about their students after their successes and accomplishments. Which they certainly do not. My girlfriend has been going to this school since the summer quarter. She moved out here from New York because it was her dream to go to this school. Pretty much she regrets it. It's a waste of money and time. She doesn't feel like she's learning anything. The school is filled with rich and entitled kids who are just there to be able to say they went to FIDM. Some lack talent, a lot of them lack discipline. You can see the lack of talent and effort in their projects but the teachers still give them a good grade and let them slide. They lack flexibility on class schedules. For example, they might only offer an 8:30 class and if you can't make it at that time, you're screwed. Don't waste your time and money. This school only employed extremely right wing, openly racist, often under-qualified staff when I was attending from 2003 until my graduation in 2006. The accreditation from this school was not recognized by any State schools or other colleges, so I had to remain at this bigoted institution unless I wanted to spend the time and money to start my education from scratch elsewhere. Your professors really get to know you and you get plenty of connections before you graduate. Also, plenty of study abroad opportunities. Gorgeous facility and a great program to boot. Building has huge glass walls and a nice corridor which is used for several events. The architecture was built with the intention of reflecting their philosophies of transparency, which seems to hold true, parking can be an issue for nonstudents, have to park in another garage across the street and walk over or parallel parking.Hisham

I applied to the nursing program in 2021 and was not accepted- which was fine- but the call I received from the Admissions department is what really left a bad taste in my mouth about this school. The woman who called to tell me that I didn’t get in did so with the purpose of “selling” me another major. Her words: I don’t really see you getting into another nursing program in the state… your grades just aren’t high enough… but we do have other good bachelors programs. Outside of her statement being rude and unnecessary, it’s also untrue as I finished my master’s with a 4.0. Yes, I have a masters degree and this admissions person tried to sell me a BA in psychology or health admin. A degree that would be literally useless to me. I was more offended by the blatant attempt to make a quick buck than I was by her talking down to me in such a way. Needless to say I didn’t enroll here, but I did get into 2 other nursing programs in the Bay Area. I guess my grades were “high enough.”AJ E

We went to San Rafael to get our covid vaccines today. Afterwards we ordered food from Sol restaurant to pick up. My daughter had attended Dominican University about 18 years ago. They have beautiful lawns On campus, with picnic tables and trees and flowers over there, so we went and had our lunch there. It was beautiful as usual. Squirrels running up-and-down the trees and people walking their dogs and jogging…. The trees swaying back-and-forth with the breeze… And with me with great company, my husband and my Mom. Once Upon a Time, Domincan was where all the CA Catholic School Girls went for college….there was also an impressvie International contingent…Chances were that an aunt, cousin, sister attended the all girl school before. Held in very high esteem and the good Sisters were an impressive lot. The campus was charming, nicely appointed and safe. Graduated here in 2018. Yes the school is not perfect. but it is affordable and offers all sorts of academic programs for students & for those who are interested in learning a new skill. A few issues with the homeless people who easily make their way in the school's restroom and leave all their mess inside. A bit more security is also needed because of the area surrounding the school, but overall it's a good community college. Looking back now, I miss every moment I got to spend here. It is in no way easy, but it is doable. I was able to work part-time and full time while going to school. I even had an internship at reputable law firm when in my second year, which is something I might not have had time to do if I went to another school with stricter schedules and no recorded lectures. Students complain about the FYLSX and yes it is difficult, but it contains three subjects that are on the general bar. You are permitted three chances to take it and if you do not pass by then you simply cannot continue at the school until you do. If you can pass the baby bar, you are set at least in those three subjects when it comes time for preparing for the GBX. It is not easy, but ALU had a great prep course that gave constant feedback, essay practice, lectures, and MBE guidance. I really liked the prep course as well as the legal program overall.Sandra So

Cool Law school is law school. There is no way around it. You have to do the work, make the time, and study. If you do this, there is no reason you should not be successful. It does take discipline and people should not think that going to an online school is easier. ALU makes it doable and affordable. All staff and faculty are approachable and helpful whenever I have had a question. This program is specifically designed for working adults and they structure their program accordingly. Had it not been for ALU, I would not have obtained my JD degree. I would highly recommend any person to do their research to see if it is a right fit for them, especially if they are willing to put in the work.David Hickman

This was my first onsite class with DeVry. I have had such a great experience with my senior project class here at Naperville. Being that it was my first time, I had to get an ID and receive a quick orientation. The onsite staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. In this session, our class was granted the permission to occasionally use the Addison campus for access to the tech playground for our presentations. Our innovative teacher, Professor Rucks, encouraged us to explore and utilize the facility to aid in our course work. When I needed academic advice and assistance, Mr. Dufresne, Assistant Dean of Academic Excellence, made himself immediately available and went out of his way to make sure my needs were met. They completely don't take the announcements before the games seriously when they mention no slurs or prejudice. And campus police or staffing barely stopped them from getting too close to the opposing team when trying to intimidate the opposing team. They slandered the opposing team telling them to go back to their "dirty" city and mentioned not speaking Spanish because they don't speak Spanish there. Shameful! I don't find the students our teachers "snobby", like some reviews suggest. The professors definitely expect hard work and effort, and are pretty demanding. But they also will go out of their way to help you learn, including outside of normal office hours. They truly care that you learn, and don't just churn out degrees like most colleges now. The business graduate school rivals Harvard in quality, but also teaches a technology focus like MIT. You can't beat the grad school here, especially the taxation program.David

School with racist students and irresponsible office of student conduct that doesn’t take things seriously. On April 18th 2021 my girl friend and I were assaulted by three (two male one female) Bentley students. While the director of student conduct did write us back that they were going to follow up with their police detective, no updates were made. This was a traumatizing experience and is frustrating that they did not take any action with the report. I am very disappointed with Bentley and their students.Eurey Noguchi

California Institute Of Technology is the greatest learning institution on the planet. My personal experience with doctors, teachers, students, alumni and researchers is extraordinary. The campus is beautiful and massive. Located in a prestigious area of South Pasadena, the campus is home to sprawling buildings, gardens, laboratories and understated California architectural masterpieces. If you decide to tour the campus, check out the turtle ponds, the library and the newest additions to the campus, neuroscience and molecular biology research centers. I always get a special feeling walking around the campus having been exposed to the work being done here, big breakthroughs in science, math, medicine and technology happen every day. This university is beautiful, but what's inside, and what comes out of here, is extraordinary. Its one of the world best technical institute. But this review is more about its campus and its greenery surroundings which is so pleasant and cool even in hot sun. Building architecture with supporting natural greenery balance is awesome. Morning, evening is good time for walk, jog and a whole day to spent with family in this lock down. Have water bodies with beautiful lotus and places with tortoise and fountain add extra happiness. Campus restaurants are closed and sitting area still open. A lot parking space. We went on a self-guided campus tour – the gardens and open spaces were open to visitors. This has to be one of the most beautiful places to study and learn. We really enjoyed touring. This place is more church than it is a university. Undergrads are required to earn an additional 18 units, 9 credits of Humanities & 9 credits of Religion, on top of your traditional 120 units for a Bachelors. As well as 14 hours of “convo” each semester (look it up). Every staff / faculty member who works here complains about there pay to anyone who will listen. Student advisors and counselors will try to impress upon you their administrative powers. Student Veterans: Both, as a Yellow Ribbon student and (at about 3/4 of the way thru) as a VocRehab (Ch.33) student, Ella from student accounts would withhold all my grants and loans until the government paid the tuition it owed on my behalf. This place is known for its vistas not their academics. You won’t build much of a portfolio to show employers just by going here. Students in the Arts programs here focused more on who to know rather then what to know. Very “Right Wing” policies. Good WiFi in the buildings, not so much outside.Timothy Mitchell

I got accepted to two schools but wanted to start with a summer course at Pepperdine to see how it goes. I enrolled in one class and before the class started I asked professor for the syllabus, and few additional questions. He emailed me he would gladly speak to me about the class I want to take and gave me the phone number to call. I am not a native speaker and I have an accent. When I called, he was very rude, asked me who I am, and then he said I got the wrong number and hanged up on me. I withdrew the class immediately to get my money back and I decided to go to different university instead, with better reputation. There are other better schools out there.Mila Rosey

I went to a brick and mortar ABA law school. I moved back to LA after the first year and found my way to Taft. Taft is more difficult and more enlightening than the ABA school I went to. You really want to know the difference between Taft Law School and Harvard Law School? At Taft, you read your law book at home. At Harvard, you read the exact same law book, but you read it inside of a mahogany-walled library that looks like something out of Hogwarts. Oh, and you pay 4x the price to go to Harvard. Yeah, you got the degree from a prestigious school, but if you know how to practice, it doesn't matter where you went to law school. I went to Taft, and when it comes to motion practice – which is where the vast majority of "fighting" in the practice of law takes place – I regularly wipe my rear end with Ivy League attorneys. And not in little, meaningless cases. I'm talking big time class action regulatory cases. So for any of you out there who are afraid of going to online law school, don't be. If you have the will and discipline to learn, you will have success at Taft. Btw, you need to learn how to study independently for the bar exam anyway. So you might as well start learning how to do it in law school. Taft was great. They have my highest recommendation as a law school.Ralph Sasson

I was a third year transfer student and they were able to accommodate a serious surgery that I had and needed for a long time. I am grateful for the staff and wonderful individuals here. The program is of course tough, it’s law school. But they grade extremely fair and provide excellent support services.
