This is not a good college at all. It's a decent sized school but I found many of the students here to be very cold and unfriendly. It's a very political school everyone is either very liberal or very conservative which made me uncomfortable since i'm not a political person. There is a lot of drug activity at this school. Almost everyone does weed and other drugs. Professors don't care about students or your problems. The food is poor quality and the weather is god awful. Avoid this schoolBeverly Twitter

The only reason ppl go here and are willing to grossly pay for an education is the location. I went to school here and will say it is far overpriced for the education you are given. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Pace is expensive, doesn't help the students getting internships and when the students get one on their own, Pace takes the credit. After graduating, the students don't get a job. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? This is a good school. However, the quality is almost identical to the CUNY school I attended before coming here that costed significantly less. Additionally, the lack of diversity (granted, because of how this is a private school) is also lacking. Simply put, the 4 years I spent at The College of Saint Rose were the best 4 years of my life. I attended the Accepted Students Day the Spring before I matriculated and fell in love. The campus was beautiful, everyone was friendly and helpful. I left with every question answered and very at ease about where I would be spending the next 4 years. Saint Rose provided me with an opportunity to come out of my shell. I was the typical shy student. I had my group of friends and I stuck to them. I didn't participate in any campus activities, my days consisted of going to class and back to my room. At the beginning of my second year, I knew I wanted to make a change, I wanted to experience all Saint Rose had to offer. I became a mentor, and then a resistant assistant, joined clubs, and volunteered. I did it all. I became a leader on campus all while balancing my school work and employment. The resources are unlimited at Saint Rose, you just have to reach out. Class sizes are small which is perfect for those of us who like to get to know our professors. As a biology major, I found my classes to be challenging but not impossible and learning was fun. When you have professors who are passionate about their field it makes you passionate to learn and that is what you will find when you come to Saint Rose. With the help of one of my professors, I was able to secure a summer research internship at Albany Medical College. My time spent here was very productive. When I transferred to Saint Rose, I knew that this place would become my second home. I can't stress enough how transfer friendly the college is. I had such wonderful help from Transfer Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar and the Communications department throughout the transfer process. They included my mom as well and answered any questions she had. While attending Saint Rose, I had some incredible opportunities that you can only get from Saint Rose. I was elected President for Tau Sigma National Honor Society which allowed me to go to Chicago and San Antonio for their leadership conference. I got to go on several trips including the Hearst Tower in NYC, Yankee Stadium, Bronx Zoo and to local media outlets such as Time Warner Cable News. I also was a staff writer/news editor for The Chronicle, the weekly student newspaper. But most importantly, Saint Rose prepared me for my two internships/part time job during my senior year and current full time job in the news industry. The professors in the Communications department helped me grow not only as a journalist but as a person. They pushed me to think outside the box and ask the tough questions. Without such a wonderful and supportive COMmunity, I wouldn't be where I am today. I feel like one star would be harsh, but three stars would be too nice. My experience with Saint Rose is that it is, like many colleges in this country: overpriced. That is a common complaint with all colleges, but it's more than that. I think the value of the education you get there doesn't really match what you are/will be (if you are taking loans) paying for. I feel the education at Saint Rose is not preparing the younger generation to enter the workforce or the real world. The school boasts great academics and don't get me wrong, some classes have been very objective based and informative. However, some classes made me feel like I was still in high school/the public education system. As in, 1) They aren't that challenging, 2) They don't teach me skills and knowledge that I'll need in the future and 3) It feels like some of the classes had a larger agenda to them (trying to convince students rather than teach). Besides the academics, the campus is nice. Personally, Albany, NY is not my cup of tea but for someone coming from the NYC area (which there's a lot at SR), it might be nicer to be in a much smaller city. Besides that, I think most adults see college campuses kind of deteriorating in terms of the academics and culture. I don't need to go into details about that. Well being that I am a proud sister of a soon to be graduate this year May 2018, I think Skidmore College is going to continue educating students with sustainable development and knowledge. Great school in a stunning setting within walking distance of Saratoga Springs. The Tang museum is great for modern art lovers ! The music concert hall rivals the best in NYC. I was a student of Skidmore College. I had the best years of my life. Amazing people and amazing place. Everyone is really nice and friendly. Of course there are events that sometimes occur in downtown. However, such incidents are belittle compared to the strong community and good vive of the college.Masum Rumi

Poor quality school. Went here for a semester, the students are conceded, very self-absorbed and focused on how smart they think they are. They identified their self-worth and level of intelligence by the grades they got, but then they get test and assignment answers from their dormmates and roommates. Rather comical. The professors are not much better. Some have good intentions, but the school apparently doesn't pay them well, so many work in other institutions. The professors that are permanently anchored at the school treat the other professors and students like crap. So the classes and materials are usually disorganized and grading is terrible. The testing material usually doesn't reflect the in-class work. When you try to speak with the professors, they just give you a blank stare, as if they didn't write the tests. If you try to complain to the chair, dean, or administrators, they simply dismiss you as if you're lazy and not doing the work. For nearly $40,000 per year I expected better. I also thought that they would have some integrity or character being that it is a religious institution. Not so. Really not worth the money. They keep the tuition high in order to appear as though they have a quality institution, but they really don't. So they try to give a lot of scholarships and grant to try getting students to enroll that way. But that strains their budget so they can't get good equipment and materials for classes and they can't get quality professors and staff because they can't afford to pay them. The people that are there that may have good ideas or good intentions are too afraid to speak up because they're afraid of getting fired. Their professor turnover rate is horrible. It seems that the only people that they can get are nerds that got high degrees but really can't explain why or how. And since they never learned to socialize, they really can't explain even the stuff they do know, then they get frustrated why students don't understand the material. So even though the professors and administrators probably know that students simply copy answers and have no clue about what they are doing, it's overlooked because as long as the students are getting good grades no one will complain. This becomes troublesome when students try to get into higher education, their test scores suck, so they have to work tirelessly and pay a bunch of extra cash for preparatory courses just to get by. Then the school professors and administrators take the credit. The students don't seem to know any better and since many of their parents are wealthy, it becomes all about the money. I say save your money and go to a state school, it will probably be the same quality. Or if you want to spend the money, at least go to a better school. This place costs about the same as the Ivy Leagues. The one thing that it seems to have going for it is that their name will help you get into other religious institutions. I give them two stars here but they really do not deserve it because they waste your time and money and give you nothing really measurable in return. Almost unilaterally, professors truly care for you and your future. Most staff do what they can to help, too. The Madden School of Business is ranked highly for a reason. Overall, the college is a little more liberal arts than I prefer, but they transferred in my military experience and prior business school credits better than anyone else. Unfortunately, my GI Bill ran out of time, so I have to pay out of pocket, now. Very not cheap! And I didn't even know that I could have gotten financial aid (in addition to the GI Bill) until just recently, so I missed out on many semesters of aid. Note: Le Moyne seems to be handling the pandemic crisis fairly well. I don't think I would be able to come up with a better way. One challenge, though, is the WiFi and cell reception in their library. In order to attend classes virtually, getting on Zoom can be difficult with unreliable/no connection to the outside world.Justin Carhart

DONT GO HERE. I just graduated and I cannot express the lack of communication that campus life and leadership possesses as well as head of departments. Le Moyne is really going downhill. There is no social life at all, food is beyond awful, academics are ok. There are a few good professors at Le Moyne. But other than that Le Moyne is all about playing games, if you’re not someone’s “favorite” then good luck trying to get anything done. The online MBA (iMBC) program is AMAZING. They have fantastic student support advisors and professors, responsive technical support, and the online platform is easy to use! This is the 4th (yes 4th) university I have attended. the others were in Chicago, California, and N.J. I can honestly say the issues I have run into here are no worse or better than issues I've experienced at the other schools. I began ASU as a non-traditional student and was more mature, focused and committed this time around. yes I have experienced some disorganization, rude, unprofessional and lazy staff at times. I also spent a total of 4 1/2 years at this institution, and the number of negative encounters I've experienced were very minimal in comparison to my length of stay. Compared to my negative experiences, I can honestly say I've had hundreds of great, positive experiences from the helpful, caring staff and instructors. ASU helped me to discover my purpose in life, I am honored to be an ASU Alumni. And for those of you who have left or are leaving these awful comments…..How idiotic you will be to graduate from a university you yourselves have publicly disgraced. THIS SCHOOL DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THEIR STUDENTS!!! Compared to other colleges ASU is so UNORGANIZED. Work orders take months to get fixed. The food is Always horrible. Pizza Hut and Subway always run out of food. They never have anything and they are always so slow. it takes 30 mins to get a personal pan pizza. Housing is a mess; some students are homeless because its bed bugs in there room. South hall has mold in there building and only 3 out of 7 washers work. Its a hassle to wash with 200 people in one building and it just seems like nobody cares about us. Last semester it took 4 months to receive my student refund check while it took other colleges 1 month. They kicked students out of school the first month for having a balance on there account but it took them 4 months to pay students their money. (We even made it to the news for having slow financial aid. ) I wont be returning, this school is slow when it comes to fixing problems but when it comes to them getting paid they have no issues kicking students out.Moesha

The Albany State University website states that they are making our health and safety their number one priority— unfortunately, I have not seen any evidence that their statement is correct. I have noticed that hand sanitizer and masks are easily accessible around campus. However, there are some students and even professors who are not wearing their masks. While attending my class, I also noticed that we had no distance between us in a very small classroom. Under these circumstances, I do not feel safe attending my classes, and I am sure I’m not the only one who feels that way. In addition, It’s disappointing to me that covid-19 cases are rising and the majority of courses being offered are all in person. I get that people want to go back, but it would be nice to at least have the option to keep being remote since it’s working out better for a few of us.Val B

Straight As but with horrible problems. The issues started before I even transferred to the CDL program. When I was a general student my adviser (at that time) told me that Independent studies were only available on site; not true. When I asked her why I couldn't take all my classes online, as advertised, she said that there was no fully online option; not true. I transferred to CDL because the woman at the FRONT DESK apparently knew more than my adviser. But once in CDL, I realized I was essentially on my own, and under the thumb of a lot of incompetent people. CDL is extremely unorganized and separate from the rest of the school. You have to be under an adviser to do anything, and if they're incompetent it can totally derail getting a degree plan approved. The process ruined my ambition for school for a whole year and a half afterward. School is my escape, and I lost that. When I read the guidelines/requirements for the degree plan, I knew exactly what needed to be done. When I asked for clarification my adviser mislead me on every aspect of the process. I wrote (1) 70 page plan, (1) 50 page plan, then (1) 32 page plan– NONE of which were even read. The ONLY PERSON responsible for putting committees together for approving plans was the rudest person I have ever spoken to via email. He also could not effectively explain why my degree titles were not appropriate until the final plan. This process made me insane because I knew what was necessary in the first place– a basic, straight forward, 5-7 page plan….something cohesive and to the point. I literally had to educate them on what "Interdisciplinary" even meant. Everyone kept forcing "Multidisciplinary" studies on me– which is something different. I'm still surprised at how many problems I had to deal with. They wanted to impose on me what they knew how to do…. They're not used to students actually wanting to be scholars. My original plan was degraded by my adviser (and changed without consent!! What she changed were vital points, and she even submitted it with errors). She told me incorrect information, which made me feel defeated, and she suggested irrelevant things. By the end I felt extremely manipulated. After almost 2 years she finally admitted that she didn't know what she was doing and reached out to other advisers experienced in "Interdisciplinary Studies." But by that point I had already talked to 7 people for help, which went no where. I had already spent 2 years trying to get out from under her ignorance– My morale was already ruined. But the advisers she reached out to were supportive of my plans. They were excited about them– too bad my adviser refused to share their names!!! Extremely frustrating system, very bad organizational issues. Financial aid also "forgot" to submit my application for scholarships when I was nominated– Financial aid also told me that someone denominated me. They said that they were looking at a letter stating that they did not recommend me– then upon closer inspection, financial aid said that there was never a letter, they had no idea who said it, and that it's not even possible. Furthermore, teachers cannot nominate you! Only your adviser can nominate. This to me is ridiculous, as my professors actually see/read my work. While, I've received honors scholarships since then, it's still frustrating that no one knows what they're even doing. By the time I got to the SINGLE PERSON who could help me the damage had already been done, and I had already dealt with it all by myself, and never got the degree title I even wanted– which would have been acceptable per FAFSA/Federal regulations. The teachers however are fantastic and the literature from the courses I've taken have taken root in my heart. I absolutely adore the pieces of literature relevant to course material in my field (Cultural Studies: Philosophy, History, Literature), and independent studies are awesome. That's the only reason I can still recommend this school. I have also met 2 other students who have had asinine issues like my own, some worse.Stephanie Michelle (JOY)

This review is based on my experience of one online class this college provided, which I was able to transfer credits from. The online class I took was principles of finance (BME), cost me about $1300. My professor was J. Visconti. I had to retake this course b/c i failed it at my main university. I learn more retaking this course than I did my first try. Several reasons: I had a Great professor. We used excel (better tool and relevant) instead of a old school financial calculator. Instructor's commentary of the lessons were impeccably relevant and sound) I was able to further understand the connections between real world usage of the learned knowledge. In my case, YES, online version of this course is much better than class room style. Since, I have taken both styles of classes, I would recommend taking "principles of finance" online, preferably with J. Visconti. If business is not your major, i would still recommend this class for personal knowledge. For me, this class was required as an elective for my major and I am glad I took it online.Richard Lim

Overall if you’re an adult with limited time this is the college for you. There are better colleges out there but this isn’t the worst either. It is an accredited Suny school which I think holds more value over some of these diploma mills. The college isn’t supportive and the mentors from my experience do absolutely nothing. In their defense though it can be quite hard because they are full-time professors as well. The problem is that they require a mentor to hold a doctorate degree which is absolutely ridiculous. It's really lovely that ACPHS has been doing construction in a building students live in all semester 🙂 The best part is that it now occurs every day of the week beginning at 7 AM and finals week is next week (not like students need sleep or the ability to study in peace and quiet or anything). Maybe next time the college undertakes a big construction project, they should consider doing it in the summer. I am a new patient of Dr. Vu as I had been a patient of Dr.Osterdahl’s for over 32 years, until his death last year. So Dr. Vu and I are developing our doctor/patient rapport. I have had two appts with her and she has been extremely caring and knowledgeable. She took great care to understand my medical history (as my sister recently passed away with a history of ovarian cancer). I did not feel rushed nor did I have to wait a long time for her to come into my examination room after preliminaries with the nurse. I am very pleased with the care I have received from Dr. Vu thus far. My first experience with Dr. Vu was when I called the office in the middle of the night needing to speak to an on call doctor. I was in pain and scared and Dr. Vu was calm, kind, caring, and thorough in explaining what was happening. I saw Dr. Vu a few days later for a follow up and ended up needing to have a procedure done. She was thorough in explaining what to expect ahead of time and answered all of my questions then did the procedure herself a week later. Dr. Vu and the surgical nurse, Mary, made a very sad and unpleasant time as pleasant and comfortable as it could possibly be.Kayla Kelley

My son is attending Marist going into his junior year. We are thrilled, and so is he, with Marist. Beautiful campus. Great Teachers and Faculty. I read here where some people complain about teachers not giving more time to their child. Seems this student was having a hard time and saw the teacher weekly and thinks the teacher let them down. Was told that they should consider a tutor and now blames the teacher for their failure. Teachers are not tutors. And maybe this student just wasn't cut out for their wanted profession. Another blaming security because their student lost a book. How is it the responsibility of security to find it if its not turned in? There's nothing they can do. Just because you're on a campus it doesn't guarantee success or all students are honest. It's the real world. Can't stand it when people blame others for their child's irresponsibility or inability to grasp a subject. My son's major is biomedical science as he wants to be a doctor. Last years class on organic chemistry "is the weeding out class." 80% of the students either drop out on their own or the professor speaks with them to encourage them to find another profession because their failing. If my son was told that, I'm not blaming the professor. He'd have to accept that it's not for him and to find another profession. Nobody said life's fair. So take responsibility for yourself. . I graduated class of 1960. I was active on sports club and went to all basketball games. Even went to Charlotte for the round of 8 when they beat Duke and Virginia to go to final four. I am concerned about the fed actions to keep raising interest rates. It is similar to 1980. I graduated as a accou tant and became a cpa with interest in real estate. I forme a cpa practice in 1973. One day we purchased a hotel then another and soon had 6 hotels. One day we were offered a project to develop a 22 unit housing project in Boca Raton. Jimmy Carter was President. Interest rates then about 7% and soon rates began rising getting to 24% Sounds crazy but that is what happened. Need to curb inflation.lost a fortune on a sure bet.. same thing now. What the fed misses is that rising rates hurts small business, hurts housing and much more. Jobs are lost and just bad. Over the last few years business was thriving, Good paying jobs,lots of new construction and now it will stop. Someone needs to speak out and stop the fed or we will have a repeat as in 1980. I left the accounting business and began buying hotels that were foreclosed. All around NY and NJ etc.. I am just concerned about what is going to happen now with rising rates caused by mistakes of the federal reserve. I am now 84 and have recently with fraternity set up scholarship fund at NYU. NYU Stern excels in attracting a diverse and talented student body and the location (B-School in SoHo) probably cannot be beat by any other institution. Formally an investment banking feeder, the school has been expanding its reach into the Strategy/Management Consulting, Tech and Luxury Retail fields post financial downturn with incremental success. Every year, things get a little bit better on this front. More student go for these jobs, more get hired, and so on. That being said, if you're interested in Investment Banking or other sell-side jobs, it's a great place to go to business school. While the student body is in my opinion its biggest asset, the school is still figuring out how to balance bringing in more diversity with the more mundane institutional goals of running a business school (making sure student GMAT scores and post-graduation salaries remain competitive enough to generate a high USNews Ranking). What I mean by this is, someone joining the school who was formerly a photographer, that then goes and works for an economic development non-profit after graduation, probably won't help those raw numbers (lower GMAT, lower salary), but will add tremendous value to the NYU community and should be admitted to the school. Balancing those still requires some work and is the only area where I think NYU needs to see improvement.Jefri Tamba

That campus was nice and personal . Warning there are a lot of stairs. I loved the unique dining hall options. Overall I was quite disappointed with the presented dorm I saw on the tour. There were flys in the bathroom and holes in the furniture. I was disappointed that was what I was supposedly to get excited for. Other than that the tour guide was nice and the campus was beautiful. Seems like a nice place, very diverse although the concrete architecture is not for me. Really nice fountain and good school for law, computer science, and math. Small but clean dorms and a really nice food court with built in Starbucks. I'm not going there for college but that doesn't mean you shouldn't.Fin Red

The college it self is very huge and clean I like there because the air is so pure, everything looks nice. My college back in the day. CUNY tuition is still great compared to private university choices. Offering two year degrees that can Transfer to bachelor's degree within the CUNY system or SUNY. Pros Super nice people to work with and there is always something going on that is interesting. Plenty of employee appreciation. Nice benefits, including a free Harvard class each semester. Great work/life balance for most. Cons Low pay, low raises. People are very segmented and separated. Some areas have no opportunity for growth.
