20 Best Masters Programs In Phoenix, AZ (2022 Updated)

I would not recommend this school, I am truly and whole heartedly regretful of choosing this school over all of the other options I had. Something about this school stood out to me, and the counselors here try really hard to get you in. I do not identify with Christian faith and I am not religious at all so I initially felt weird about going to this school, but they mention multiple times that they accept all faiths and backgrounds so I felt better. However, upon talking their forced “Christian Worldview” class, the teacher grades with an iron fist for a 101 class and is just awful. My GPA for sure was going to plummet due to this stupid 101 class that they force on you. Honestly it was so ridiculous that I felt the need to reach out to my advisor. I was trying to come up with a solution because I felt some type of way about this. I suggested them placing me with a different teacher, since this teacher has AWFUL reviews going back years yet they do nothing about it. However they pretty much told me I still had to take the class, I could not switch to another teacher (you cannot pick your own teachers by the way which is huge for me now). Their only solution was that “another teacher would review my work.” This turned me off so bad from the entire school that I ended up withdrawing due to principal which messed up my financial aid. They honestly did not care one bit and obviously know there is a problem but do nothing to address it. I was so turned off that I chose to mess up my financial aid and just pick another school, there was no way that I was finishing out my degree here after this. Go elsewhere !!Taylor

I am an Atheist. I chose this college because it had the focus I was looking for, the delivery method was fully online so I could continue to work, and the price was the best around. I did not feel like being of the Christian faith was a prerequisite. My instructors and professors were not pushy with religion, and for a master's program, I felt like I was able to learn what was necessary for the field I was in. I have a Master's degree and 2 focuses now from GCU and I couldn't be happier with my education and experience. The guidance counselors were great, the financial aid process was easy, and I'm grateful for GCU and all they have done for me.April Wittmeyer

Parking in Garage building#7 on 33rdAvewas the best for going into the areana. We had to checkin at theguard station, drive around it then enter the parking garage. Parking was allowed on the 2ndfloor and above. It was the AFHE homeschool senior graduation. The campuswas very green. The areana was building #38 there is a museum to JERRY COLANGELO here and a beautiful tripple cross monument. The restrooms are spacious and everything but the soap dispensers are automated. My Story As a former student of the University of Advancing Technology or UAT I want to reach out to all future students that are considering this school as an option. I spent from 2012 – 2016 completing my undergraduate program with my Bachelors of Arts in Video Game Design. Where I worked 40+ hours a week, maintained my family life, and completed my program online. In my 4 years every professor that I had was extremely supportive an really promoted and communicated the expectations and understanding of the quality of work that needed to be done as well as the opportunities for students to continue being successful with academics while navigating life challenges. From work/life balance to family medical emergencies everyone single professor was able to help me navigate those challenges while not having to exit school for any duration of time. When I finished my undergraduate program, I left UAT with a solid knowledge and understanding of what it took to make games and how to get that career path started. Because of my positive experience at UAT the first time I decided to go back for a graduate program with a Masters of Science in Technology Leadership. During this time, I was not working and had every opportunity to focus 100% on school for the 2 years I was enrolled. Then COVID 19 happened, UAT was able to quickly adapt and conquer the challenges that social distancing and remote working guidelines had put on almost the entire nation. UAT used its knowledge and passion for technology to not only mitigate COVID challenges but also keep every student on track to succeed in their educational journey with little to no delay. I finished my Masters program and during my exit interview found out that I could dual major with just a few more classes, so I decided to extend my stay there for one more term and finish my Masters of Science in Video Game Production and Management as well. Conclusion If your looking for an education in the technology space, heavily consider UAT as your choice to attend. Let me start off by saying I wish I could give this school a 2.5. I went to this school (2016) with financial problems immediately. I had a financial adviser who told me that I could attend school there and everything had been paid for. Literally after five minutes of being there I was told that she hadn't checked if I could actually attend there, but had only assumed. This was a huge problem seeing as I had flown from Washington to Arizona to attend this school. Upon my nine months there my financial adviser had changed three times. The only thing I really enjoyed was Renee, she has always been kind to me and my situation even to this day. In regards to the academic side of the school, I don't think you get much out of classes for what you're paying. With how much you end up paying a single class would be $180 which is completely insane when a few of the professors don't actually teach you anything. I was a Programming Major and from what I saw and from how I was treated if you already knew how to program or you picked up on it really fast you were automatically favored – this also went for the Game Art degree. During my classes I had been accused of cheating off of a peer when I didn't. Some of the classes are a real challenge though and they were definitely worth the $180. Now onto Founder's Hall. I was an RA there for 6 months. The dorms are messy and there's hardly anyone in the dorms that's social. Due to this their rooms are disgusting and a lot of rooms here do have cockroaches – it really doesn't matter if you're clean or messy, there's cockroaches. I will say that the school seems to be doing a bit better with the dorms and the cafe and what not, but people are still falling out of that school due to the fact that it costs way too much for anyone coming from middle-class or lower. I wouldn't have left if it wasn't for someone who was finishing up his last semester. He was a close friend and had expressed to me how he hoped I wouldn't stay here and have my money sucked out of me and end up with a degree and no job.kkylenkk

My son and I have been so impressed with the staff at UAT that we sent them letters telling them so. We appreciated the warm welcome, well-coordinated incoming events, personable staff and flexibility for students. The communications throughout the year have been great as a parent back here in Minnesota. The logical response to the unprecedented demands for Covid19 included thoughtful adjustments for the residence hall, school operations and courses. My son received support and accommodations for ADHD, anxiety and depression. Ashley in Student Services has been an incredible support and advocate for him. We were able to meet with her together and I was immediately grateful that she was so knowledgeable and warm. I knew he would be lucky to have her as a support. Ashley is enthusiastic and genuinely interested in students. She makes a point to reach out to them and visit the Commons as well. Although my son has been an excellent student in the past, he struggled with the new responsibility of creating his own schedule. Being overwhelmed and anxious led him to fall behind significantly. Ashley supported him, brainstormed options and coordinated schedule adjustments. Teachers provided accommodations on an ongoing basis. I recognize the understanding and time this degree of extra coordination requires. They deserve recognition also. My son and I both felt that what he has learned at UAT, both in and out of classes, was even greater since he developed skills through these struggles. He considers it all a tremendous learning experience. In summary, we've been incredibly pleased with how UAT operates and meets student needs personally and academically.Linda Ell-Egermeier

Signing up was easy, I was provided help at every step in order to insure my success when I completed my diploma, I felt confident enough to move forward with a degree. Once I completed my diploma and as I have been working on my degree I have had the best career advisor. Even though life got busy with work, school and home issues and sometimes I did not respond, my career counselor Marianne Cooper never gave up on me. I attended Brookline College online in the Medical Office Administration program. From the beginning at admission, to the instructors and career services it has been a great experience. Everyone was always willing to assist you with whatever is needed and very responsive to all communication. This program has taught me a lot and has given me the experience and knowledge needed to make the transition into the career field I've always wanted to be in. I came to this school for 2 weeks in the fall of 2018 and it was NOT a good time. I left after those weeks and went to another school. The college had lots of issues, like broken furniture, no Library, lots of essential services were missing that students need. But worst of all, was the TUITION, about $22,500 – $25,000 for just TUITION. That is extremely overpriced for the services you receive. It felt very cheap. Please find another university to go to or please invest in community college! only $1000 or $2000 a year and some people can get it for free!Andrew Quintero

This was a really good campus. Some of the buildings are older, but it looks like they're updating some of them, bcuz I saw signs of construction everywhere. 👍 I went here for the General Revelation conference and got to watch Dr Brian Arnold talk about Irenaeus and the Beatific Vision. It was in the administration building in the back, inside the AT&t room. I have a mobility scooter because I can't walk very well anymore. This scooter is electric and I don't go very far on it as it has a limited range. The park I go to some times is far (in a wheelchair). I cut through the north campus parking lot 100's of yards from any building to save some battery. I felt dejected today when I was accosted by one of the campus police telling me to leave as is a closed campus. It did not feel like it was for my safety as much as him exerting his authority. I was just cutting the corner of the campus away from anyone. Edit: This happened around noonish on the same day I posted. I decided to take 2 classes this semester, both in person classes. One started in September and the other in October. My September class is amazing! I love the teacher and the curriculum. My October class was switched to online only days before it was supposed to start- I paid and signed up for an in person class specifically, and was not notified by anyone that it had been moved to online, leaving me with one day to find another class, or bite the bullet and do an online class. Very unhappy with the communication of the school.carly

They are a horror story. 2018 I applied for being a personal trainer. They put me in a weird stack of classes including world religion and other classes. They said I can't change no matter a student advisor's mistake. When I dropped classes they claimed I owed them almost $400 for their mistake and out a freeze on my FAFSA.Scandy Italian Ice

Okay, I've never been nerdy (emotionally connected) with any affiliation (work, church, sports team etc.) But I am positively smitten with this school! Not to be cliche but; how do I love thee Phoenix Seminary, let me count the ways:  Intimate class sizes, professors that definitely know their stuff (but are humble and not stuffy), students that are genuine and like-minded in their pursuit, the classes are challenging and rewarding, schedules are flexible with work, the library is perfect, the staff are warm and beyond competent. And, it's the little things that really get me in the feelys. Like today, when I noticed one of the staff stocking the student lounge with food, because hanger is a thing and poor students need food to fuel their brains. And, how the advisors share their time and life with you. I never understood why allumni would donate financially to their schools; but I get it now. I fully believe in, agree with, and want to support the vision and mission of Phoenix Seminary. And I'm nerdy honored and thankful to go here.Sarah Rauch

I started here in the fall of 2017. I am doing the M.Div. BTS. So far all of the professors have been top notch. Dr. Arnold is so passionate about the word of God and is faithful in his teaching. Dr. Meade is unparalleled in his knowledge of the Old Testament. Dr Gurry is an amazing Greek teacher and has helped me struggle through. If I can do it then anybody can! I started attending Phoenix Seminary Fall 2012 – what a blessing it's been! I'm currently working on my M.Div in Biblical Communications, my wife began last fall with counseling courses. If it weren’t for the front desk person I’d give it five stars. The clinic is great. The students are very good at what they did. I think I get better care than I got from the $250 per session doctors I went to for several years. The front desk person is incredibly rude. I thought it was just a one off. She seemed frazzled when I went in after a telemedicine appointment to pick up my supplements. She was not pleasant although I remained calm and kind. While there, I made an appointment for another telemedicine visit because I’ve got a cough so I’m trying to minimize in person interactions. I was very specific. The day of the appointment it turned out she scheduled me for in person and caught an attitude with me for her mistake. I was just trying to resolve it as I completed my first round of supplements which helped tremendously and was asked to return upon completion. People make mistakes. It’s how you treat others that matters. It would not have been a big deal if she was able to be calm and focus on problem solving.Dayna Donovan

If the American Medical College of Homeopathy program is accredited at PIHMA, I will have to give this school rating a minimum score. Many students were affected by their actions when they were a stand alone homeopathy school and I would not recommend students engage in this program at PIHMA. They hurt quite a few people with very little regard and were dishonest and non-transparent about their finances until the end. It was very difficult for students and the integrity within their program was sub-par as far as assessing students fairly, mentoring, or in grading. While there were a few honest people in the program, most of the experiences in this program both from a leadership and student end were rather manipulating. I would encourage students to look elsewhere for this training and be very wary of any training you receive. It is not to be trusted.Jennifer Coomes

I went here an got what i pay for. First time to acupuncture and it did hurt. The "STUDENT" barely knew what she was doing an the "TEACHER" was super rough moving the needles around in me. I walked out sore from ALL the needles not some which the teacher said I'd only feel. For the price I was sketchy an I walked out never coming back for my "follow up". I wish i didn't have to give a star. My wife graduated at the Tucson location, she got hired to work at the Phoenix location as an on call type of basis, and she recently got accepted to go to grad school here. She wanted a new agenda that she can use for her classes. I noticed my wife had 4 University of AZ agendas she used during her undergrad studies. She could've used an agenda from Walmart but she really liked supporting her school by buying an agenda every year from University of AZ until she graduated with her bachelors degree. Now she's a graduate student and I decided to buy her a new one. When I went to visit the Phoenix campus the security was very rude. They called the library to see if it was okay for me to visit. Really? You have to have permission to view the library? The security told me that I'm strictly only allowed to go straight to the library and no where else. This is a different experience for me because when I visited University of AZ Tucson location they're very kind to family members, visitors, and students. Security is very un-welcoming at the Phoenix location. I don't know why they need to be rude when all they deal with majority of the time is students and family members that are excited to visit the campus of loved ones. Family members that are supportive to the school students and staff. When I arrived to the bookstore I was told that they don't carry or sell agendas of any kind. I looked online for the bookstore and I called the number online. Sadly, the person from the bookstore told me over the phone that University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix location doesn't carry agendas and hung up without saying goodbye or see if I had any further questions. OVERALL, FROM A FAMILY MEMBER OF A UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA GRADUATE, GRADUATE STUDENT, STAFF THAT IS ONLY VISITING THE CAMPUS TO BUY AN AGENDA THIS WAS SUCH A NIGHTMARE AND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.Fredrick Jones

As a patient, I have come across residents amd instructors from multiple disciplines and here are my concerns about the quality of medical professionals who graduate from this school: 1. I am concerned that residents are being taught greed over patients best interests. This means the graduate will be too quick to perform a medical test when the symptoms that a patient has does not line up with the disease or illness that the patient has. This also means medically unnecessary surgeries and the disrespect of informed consent. 2. The graduate will have no critical thinking skills and lacks the ability to keep up with medical research. This in turn will lead misdiagnosis in patients as well as unnecessary treatment while the underlying condition is not treated. Remember, the medical organizations such as American College of Gynecogy, etc. guidelines are written for the physician best interest and not the patient best interest. Take a look at the 2018 diabetic guidelines and their justification for increasing the recommended A1C levels. Instead of addressing the cost of insulin,, they raised the target A1C levels which in turn has the potential to shorten the life expectancy of diabetics in the long run. 3. The graduate is only educated in the white suburban middle class culture. What does this mean, they will be biased to and quick to judge anyone who does not fit in the white middle class suburban culture which is the majority of America. I had been going to Midwestern Dental for over 6 years. I am 60 years old and unfortunately needed a lot of work done. Root canals, bone regernation (3 times in different areas), implants, cleanings and more. Each visit the student and the instructor go over every tooth and logged in their computer the different challenges with each tooth. I have had an issue with enamel loss on my front teeth. I did not realize that the enamel continues to erode . They never once said that this was a priority. Recently I went to their clinic because I saw in a mirror that you could see through my teeth! They then informed me that this was beyond their expertise . I asked if they could put something behind them so they didnt break off and they said it could not be done because my jaw had shifted and there was no room. They said that I could pick up my records on my way out. (I didn't because I was in tears so they sent them certified mail the next day). Devastation doesn't even explain how I feel. Two weeks later my front tooth broke off. I went to a private practice dentist and he informed my that there was only two options. I needed to get dentures or there was a procedure where I can keep most of my teeth. It is called a "all on one" dental implant. Of course that was the option I prefered. Then he gave me the estimate and it runs between $15,000-$25,000. (I got a second opinion and researched prices and unless I go to Mexico that is the price). That wasn't even the worse part. When the jaw shifted it caused irreparable damage. I could not be more depressed. I trusted the students and it cost me in many ways.Marcie Ross

I originally went to Mid Western to get 2 teeth fixed and a small partial. They since have pulled 5 molars removed my bridge never gave antib after the removal. My dental student was very rude to her assistant as well. Went thru a lot of issues since the extractions with my health. My BP elevated everything I was there due to stress. Never got the teeth I originally went there to fix. Finally quit going after my student pricked herself with the needle and I had to get blood drawn foe her safty….never once was given an apology. Would never recommend trying to save money and go here. My teeth used to be my best asset. Now I have nothing!Lorri Swan

I have been going to Midwestern University for over a year. It is a teaching college. I go for the dental work. Then are set up with a team and then you have the same students. When one graduates the other one moves up and they assign a new assistant student. The students are outstanding and caring. It does take more time but if you have the time it is worth it. Their prices are very good. What was going to cost me between $10,000 and $12,000 cost less than $4,000.Catherine Young

I’m a current student in the ADN program. I knew it was fast paced when I signed up, I knew what it would be like to do a program like this. I prepared myself but the school didn’t really care about the fact that COVID affected everyone differently. Especially a few of the instructors. I never missed a day of school after I got COVID the first week of class and was prompt in communication and was sick for weeks but told I had to return or I’d fall too far behind. I definitely struggled during the semester, but I pushed through, one of my instructors who is the Pharm teacher let me know I couldn’t use COVID as an excuse. She was not sympathetic and wouldn’t let me re take anything, while my other teacher encouraged me and pushed me till I passed. The biggest issue is you have one set of people who care and another set who don’t. They need to reevaluate their staff because they are definitely discouraging many of the students. My experience it was so bad here.. it was a nightmare there was one instructor she was a bully!! She was instructor here and at. 6751 N Sunset Blvd #330, Glendale, She bully students she didn’t like she was so childish unprofessional she act like a high schooler Mean girl lol . she would talk bad about the one student she doesn’t like to everybody to make her look horrible the saddest part is some believe her. she pick favorites and will literally fail students she don't like and brag about it. Fast paced schooling which I love. I attended the Glendale campus because it was so much closer to me than the Phoenix campus on Dunlap. I know it’s not for everyone. I liked that they had the option of doing evening classes, it was pretty flexible with the 2 days outta the week. My dental instructor Mr. Hester was knowledgeable and really helped prep me for my radiation health exam, which I was able to pass on the first try. And found a job rather quickly after I finished. Few things I didn’t like was having to attend all those meetings for how to write a resume and how to look professional for an interview, I really hated those lol. But that showed me that they really do help set you up for success if you have no experience in working for a professional field.Yuzelly Ramirez

Worst service ever. First it took me 5 hours on hold(tried multiple times in two days) to get to speak to someone. Just to find out that ASU doesn’t notify you when you have a bill coming up or amount due, till the last date and due date. Obviously they like to collect the late fees. “It’s students responsibility to keep an eye on it”, yea sure, then don’t pretend like you care about your students. Won’t be enrolling in any classes no more with this school. The whole experience with this school was mediocre, from financial aid support, to coaching and Academic advisers. People who were in these roles were constantly changing. I would constantly get phone calls from academic advisor, before ever notifying me via e mail or message. They can’t help you with simple things like editing your resume or finding and internship. They absolutely did nothing, and the classes are waste of time and money, most of the classes I took could’ve been a 10 min YouTube video. Don’t waste your time or resources on ASU. This university consistently shows they only care about money and not the students. I have two full-time kids attending. The financial aid department lacks professionalism, follow-up, and follow-through. We have experienced this two years in a row. We did financial aid months in advance and my kids are trying to start and are still not financially cleared. We spend hours on hold day after day and get hung up on, live chats disconnected, and when you get a hold of someone they are rude and do not take action. They make millions in profits and are understaffed and hire people that don’t care about students. It is funny how private colleges are held accountable for job placement and graduation rates. They also provide quality customer service. State funded schools don’t have to report on job placement and their retention rates are horrific and they priced zero customer service…going to drop this joke of a place and find a good private school.Rodney Fitzsimmons

Really nice campus, a lot of expansion and improvement construction has happened over the past 10 years. It is a little hard to access certain areas without at least a little walk. Having a bike to get around campus is really helpful. if you’re visiting town I’d recommend visiting campus while you’re here, plenty to see and a lot to experience in the area.Cameron Baker

I called to ask about the pricing on a course that I was going to take with this college!! A woman by the name of TRISH , was very rude she did not have good customer service skills , she over talked me FROM WORD GO , she assumed that I WAS GETTING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ! which I’m not IM PAYING OUT OF POCKET , once I made her aware of this she seem to have gotten more edgy, I asked to speak with someone that could explain better !! I got my undergraduate and now working on my Masters at U of P. Nothing was ever hidden. You have to do your homework and know what the heck you are doing and keep yourself informed and ask the right questions. You cannot expect people to do your work for you. The tuition and costs are laid out on their website plain as day. I did a ton of research on the degree I am working towards, the costs and responsible borrowing. I made sure I knew what the accreditation's were and that I can be licensed in my state. Its work but my responsibility to know what I am signing up for. I loved the enrollment counselors, and can ACTUALLY get through to them and get personal responses same day most of the time unlike the bigger schools where you are lost in the crowd. the courses are great but beware if financing, when inquiring about enrolling you will be told you will NOT have to pay anything until 6 months after graduation. That is a lie! Also the student advisors are horrible. I receive mixed messages, some advisors told me about options at the end of my degree that " was now too late", had I been told by an advisor earlier it wills have been an option. I was encouraged to take courses through outside programs Sophia and Study.com but was NEVER told that would cause problems with my financial aid. So when I am 2 classes away from graduating now I cannot because I do not have $3,000+ to pay out of pocket. I would never recommend UOP to anyone. Go someplace else for your degree!Michelle Garcia

Phoenix College graduate writing!! I have had a wonderful experience at Phoenix College. It was affordable and I'm starting my new job 100% debt free due to the affordable college tuition. I am a medical assistant graduate and I'm so glad I did my studies at Phoenix College. The medical assistant program director Monica N. is superb and one of the hardest working ladies I know. Despite how busy she is being both a program director and a teacher, she always made time for me whether it was in class or if I had a question about issues or concerns within the program. To prospective medical assistant or healthcare students I have to say this: choose a community college instead of a private college. First of and VERY CRUCIAL – Phoenix College is an accredited school with accredited programs. But the best thing is that you will graduate without being seriously in debt. Other programs will try to lure you in and say you can graduate in as little as 9 months. But at what cost? If you can wait a little longer to finish your program I definitely think it's worth it. Also, this school has a great reputation amongst healthcare companies. I was able to acquire a job at a great company that is very well known despite being a new grad. When it comes to the staff all over campus, EVERYONE is helpful and knowledgeable. They really care about students. Also, the testing center staff are awesome as well! Susan at the testing center helped me in the process of taking the HESI A2. I was very nervous, but she was so funny and encouraging and it really helped my nerves. I LOVE this school, I will likely take another program at this school in the future. So proud to be an alumni!!A A

I love this little place, it is my haven especially after the neverending unraveling events in the world. Moved to Phoenix randomly 3 years ago after my undergrad and was so lost, but finally found this place. Doing some prerequisites for something in healthcare. It is very affordable, I work full-time and do my classes part-time and so thankful that you can do payment plans. Love going to the library. Conveniently located close to where I live. I have met some very interesting people from all backgrounds and professors here are great, hats off to the flagship college cultivating such a nice environment.Domino

Try to do as much as you can online. Visiting the campus this summer is pointless. They're running on a skeleton crew. One person named Susan was trying to work three stations at the same time and seemed to be running the whole show. Apparently office people won't be returning to the office until July or August. Despite the lack of a line it still took 45 min. to get one thing done. If you decide to go in, don't expect to be in and out quickly.Doniphan Sanchez

I transferred to ASU back in 2019 from community college. I attended college here for 2 years and graduated last year. All my professors I had at the West campus were good or great and I appreciate everything they did for me. During my 2nd semester is when the pandemic hit and classes moved online which was hard to deal with since the school's sporting events and graduation ceremonies were cancelled and not allowing fans when resumed. I had to finish college almost entirely online but I was still determined to just make the best of it and finish in 4 straight semesters which I did. I miss it here a lot and I always think of the old, fun times I had here. The city of Phoenix, Arizona and ASU became a big part of my life. I live in North Carolina now so it's hard for me to come back to visit but I'll come back to the campus to visit someday whenever I decide to take a vacation to Arizona. Forks up!!Go Sun Devils

I had a wonderful experience taking my Master's degree at ASU West. The campus is small and lovely. Many of the students are working adults, making for mature work groups, with a variety of experiences and opinions. The staff and professors are incredible…competent, kind, and just a pleasure to work with. I enjoyed every class I took there. I recommend this campus highly.Donna Migliore

Beautiful landscaping one of the last desert fields in this area great for sneaking off and being alone. Watch out for the police here though, they have a police precinct all to their own , with very bored cops just looking for some action. But still a great place to smoke . Also have a area for flying RC planes and every weekend they're out there flying around .Chad Walker
