The only reason ppl go here and are willing to grossly pay for an education is the location. I went to school here and will say it is far overpriced for the education you are given. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Career services ask if you want to be reached out to and say they will help but its not in their interest. At the NYC campus the administrative and financial aid staff are blatantly rudeRyan Ryan

Pace is expensive, doesn't help the students getting internships and when the students get one on their own, Pace takes the credit. After graduating, the students don't get a job. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? This is a good school. However, the quality is almost identical to the CUNY school I attended before coming here that costed significantly less. Additionally, the lack of diversity (granted, because of how this is a private school) is also lacking. PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE APPLYING TO THIS SCHOOL I attended the biology program as a transfer student and it was the worst mistake of my life. Marymount Manhattan puts up this facade that their small class size sets them apart from any other college in the city. Let me be clear: this school has more downfalls than advantages. This school requires their students to take general education courses as a freshman and then again at junior and senior levels. I was a biology major taking dance, film and painting during my junior year. Just another ploy to make more money. I was told by an advisor that I would have to graduate a year late to take one single class in spring semester that was only offered every other year. If a class is mandatory for graduation, it should be offered every year. The shortage of staff to teach classes sets an automatic disadvantage for students. How can they expect a student to return to one of the most expensive cities in the world to take one single class? The adjunct faculty is laughable. I took a painting class and had to buy everything out of pocket. I do not come from money as most students at this school and was told by my professor that my brushes were "too cheap". The courses from this college are impossible to transfer as they are considered a joke at even community colleges. As a freshman my friend failed her first biology exam. Normal, not everyone is able to adjust to a college style exam right away. She immediately went to see her professor about improving her grade and she was told to change her major and her aspirations to go into medicine over her first ever college exam. Is that pushing your students to be successful? Maybe the BFA programs are better, but I have only heard negative aspects about them as well. The majority of my anatomy class was failing and nothing was done by the staff to improve lessons regardless of the countless complaints by students. The graduation rate is laughable. The advisor and bursar offices are laughable. They are quick to take your money for a transcript but never send it out. There is so much more to say about this college but it cannot be done in a single review. Please do your due diligence before committing to this school. I transferred here from a big state school and after taking a gap year. As a marketing major in a primarily performing arts focused school, I sometimes feel like not enough attention is given to the business department, but the small class sizes and very focused attention given to each student in the school makes Marymount, in my eyes, a very great institution. This school has been very good to me and I have met a lot of awesome people and am currently working with the career offices to secure an awesome internship for the summer. The individualized attention that each student gets here is only awarded to this who strive for it, and unfortunately there students at Marymount who don't really try and attempt to get over on the faculty because its a private school. I received three evening robo-fundraising calls within a week that began with the robo-caller saying not to worry, they were just calling to see how my child is enjoying the school. After that, it became a fundraising pitch. If they want to see how my child is doing, they can ask my child. Three calls, all in the evening, within one week, and with a deceptive script. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. A diverse student base, some of whom had immigrated to America shortly before enrolling, also makes tailoring a viable solution difficult. Improving the retention and graduation rate as well as the increased financial and academic burdens of a remedial program still remain a considerable problem. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. The best college ever! The best opportunity in your life! Berkeley College is a small college but very professional one. My English level was not so good, and I still find it difficulty sometimes, but it was not a obstetrical for me at all, because all the professors helped me. And I am definitely glad for all the professors that I had, for 19 of them (5 quarters until now), they are all gorgeous. They never stop telling their student to use them as much as possible. They are respectful, patient, helpful, easy to understand, and they will try everything and every method for the student to succeed, after that is up to the students. If you do what the professors tell you to do you'll be fine, and that's what I and all my friends do. And we enjoy time in the class, we work in group, we discuss and bring new topics in class related with the lectures. And what is the beauty of Berkeley College is the diversity that it has. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't; Berkeley College is one of the worst college in America. According to National Center for Education Statistics, the retention rate is 64 percent and the graduation rate is 30 percent. When people see these type of statistics, many people like to blame the students however in Berkeley College’s case, it’s not the students fault, it’s the school’s fault. One of the problems with Berkeley College is the financial aid. When you first come to Berkeley College, they promise you that you will graduate in 3 years however when you have to deal with the Financial aid it’s nearly impossible. Berkeley College operates on a Quarter System. And because Berkeley College operates on a Quarter system, the government can’t fund every quarter like Summer Quarter. This is a problem because students are force to pay large amount of money out of pocket. And if you can’t afford it, you have no choose but to drop the quarter and this will push back you graduation date. Berkeley College is so expensive and such a waste of money. If you’re coming from high school or another college, don't waste your money and your time. This school is not worth the tuition money you have to pay every year. You pay 30,000 plus (about $7,800 each Quarter) in tuition and with the new book policy, you will be forced to pay $300 out-of-pocket for books you will never use each Quarter. I had the worse college applying experience. This is for the Paramus NJ Campus. I was a prospective student. Unfortunately, I’m on temporary disability for now so I figured “why not go back to school to pursue my dreams?!”. Well, Berkeley admissions gave me a HORRIBLE experience. They stopped following up with me unlike other universities I applied to. No one knew what was going on in my admissions process. I gave this college money that THEY knew I didn’t have because of my disability because I wanted to attend. All of that for these fools to tell me they’re only accepting a portion of the credits I took for my associates degree. I am going to attend a prestigious university that knows what they’re doing and how to handle their prospective students. Putting effort into this college was WORTHLESS!!! From the moment I was accepted to a few months later, it’s been nothing but miscommunication, incorrect information, and confirming false details left and right. Name any kind of detail, and they’ve gotten it wrong. Name any kind of procedural, logistical, student experience piece, and there’s conflicting information. The “right hand doesn’t talk to the left” saying doesn’t even begin to describe how dysfunctional this place already is, and classes haven’t even started. When you’re about to go into $120,000+ debt for the rest of your life you’d at least expect the “student success advisor” not to demean you at every turn, or for at least one person to confirm details that are actually true. If you’re considering applying here, go absolutely anywhere else and spare yourself the unbelievably unnecessary headaches and stress. I like many older students had to re-learn how to go to school, due to taking Online/OnLive classes. I'm from the era of having a teacher in a classroom and that's it. But Devry offers both, which makes it convenient to possibly choose to either take the class online or head to the school for class. The Online classes are tremendously helpful for me, being a single parent. But I've noticed not all Professors record their classes. I don't care if only the first class was the "Live" class. When Professors have online students, recording the sessions should be the standard, not a choice. Devry does go out its way to help you resolve as many pitfalls as any student can possibly fall into. This is quite comforting for me, because being a Single parent, there's always some unaccounted for drama that I must tackle. And the Professors have worked with me in getting assignments handed in. Once class I took had one of the week's not open up for the entire class. Meaning some could see the work for the week and others couldn't. And for the online student this is terrible because you may not get to your work until the end of the week. Then you’re left struggling trying to get that resolved, so you’re not penalized with handy in assignments late. But the Professor immediately acknowledged the issue, and didn't penalize everyone. Which may sound like it's not a big deal. But for me it was huge, because it happened over a Holiday. Overall, I'm happy I chose Devry. I was looking at several other schools like southern New Hampshire University. But I chose Devry because it seemed to specialize in my major and was offering better prices with classes. I'm on a budget so class prices are huge to me. So far all I can say is, thanks Devry.steven mattocks

My experience at Keller/DeVry was a really great one. I love, love, love the fact that the professors are very knowledgeable in their field, have industry experience and could bring real life examples and situations to the classroom. The course curriculum has helped to prepare me for the real (corporate) world – Thank God for the numerous group and individual projects which have really helped me thus far. Honestly I was somewhat sad to leave – the environment felt like family, and on another hand I was happy because I had no more studying and assignments to do :-). The academic advisors are all GREAT (Shout out to my former Advisor, Kareema). I have to also shout out Addie who is the International Student (and Student Services) Manager, she is such a great addition to the team – I can truly say that she LOVES her job and the students, she is very knowledgeable and exceptionally good at what she does – she puts a lot of love and care into it! (Thank you Addie). Career services is also free and GREAT (Shout out to Brandy Hernandez!), they’ve really worked with me to help me complete my resume, prepare for job interviews, build my Linked in profile and also with my job search! Interviewers were impressed and the best part is that I didn’t have to pay anyone to provide me with any of those services. Overall my experience at Keller was GREAT, I’ve had many great encounters both with the professors and other members of staff! I was so excited on getting back to school and complete my career expectations VIRTUAL but this university is a rip off and Scam , I had a couple of college degrees from FL state and Canada that were supposed to count towards my program and decrease my time to get a degree and I was told that I CAN GET MY DEGREE IN TWO YEARS but now I was just inform it's not two years but three to four more years and the other issues is that this season and the previous I had a couple of professors that were out of the country the whole semester impossible to get a hold on them, no live classes. one was in Russia or something and the other one in Singapore the whole semester so due to the hour difference it was impossible to get a hold on them besides the fact that all the videos of reference were coming from a YOUTUBE WEBSITE !! how professional (sarcasms) Do your research before signing. I believe there are stories about Bank Street which other parents, potential parents and even students should be aware. I was a parent at the school for 10yrs and was involved in various school activities. At one time I was on the Director of Diversity’s (DoD) Parent Advisory Board (PAB). This was a group of parents organized the school year after the The Post wrote a less than flattering article concerning the then DoD in July 2016. Prior and during various meetings of the PAB, the new DoD provided information to be used as a guide to think about being more inclusive of differing views: “The Dangers of Echo Chambers on Campus” by Nicholas Kristof and a YouTube video of Obama’s farewell address from Chicago. Both the article and the speech talk about the dangers of retreating into our selective bubbles especially in our neighborhoods and learning institutions. “..we become so secure in our bubbles that we accept only information, whether true or not, that fits our opinions, instead of basing our opinions on the evidence that’s out there.” Obama said. Great article and a great speech but just words. Bank Street doesn’t stand behind those words and doesn’t stand with people who do. When you want to truly help people, you tell them the truth but if you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear. At one of the PAB meetings, the philosophies of Dr. Thomas Sowell, Harvard Grad (magna cum laude), MS Columbia and PhD Univ. Chicago and Jason Riley, Editorial Board of the Wall Street Journal were introduced. The introduction was greeted with “We know those philosophies and we reject them; we reject them” by one of the parents. I doubt he really did. It would seem that the words from all the articles above were simply dismissed by a group of primarily whites “rejecting” the works of these influential black men simply because their writings did not fit the School's narrative. I can not understand people who say that minorities should be represented more broadly yet become irrational and repressive when a person of color represents a view differing from their own. I contacted Mr. Riley and he agreed to speak at the school and I even offered to pay his fee. At first, the DoD and the Dean offered to approve the engagement with the stipulation of a “balanced dais”. I asked both the Dean and the DoD if they'd be on the other side to which they declined and offered no recommendations. Funny how the two people who push the racial agenda were not confident enough to defend their curriculum to that of a well-educated, well-researched black man. How do you market yourself as a teacher of critical thinking while suppressing differing, well-researched views? Even the idea of inviting Mr. Riley to speak at the school was ultimately rejected after other parents petitioned against his speaking. The mob, which Nicholas Kristof had written, won. Separately, after the NY Post article, several families who were thought to be possible contributors to the write-up were ostracized and verbally chastised by some members of the community. I never understood why Bank Street’s administrative staff didn’t stand up to support those being mistreated. Although they talk of community, they left those parents, some of whom had been at the school for years, to fend for themselves against the mob. I never got the chance to ask the Dean how he felt when he found out that some parents from the School’s Parents of Kids of Color group petitioned against his hiring simply because of the color of his skin. They wrote a letter to the Hiring Committee to petition for one applicant over the other specifically because of race. What would have been the reaction if a group of parents had racially profiled a non-white? I also found the school weak in languages, sciences and athletics. All this after paying over $500k in after-tax tuition plus tutoring (which you will need) and donations for your child to attend K-8. There's more, but I'm limited in space.Slinks

The school has zero organization. It is a hassle to communicate with people who work here. I was going to apply but if they are not organized in the admissions department, which is like the sales department, they won't be organized once you are a student. My experience: after multiple mails and not getting solid answers, Karina Isoton, told me to visit her in her office at the Manhattan campus. I showed up and was surprised when the clerk told me that Karina doesn't work Fridays and she was not in today. I showed her my whole email conversation where Karina literally told me to come today before 3pm. She was not helpful at all. Professors are pleasant people who explain themselves clearly. The atmosphere is welcoming to everyone and a large diverse population. The studies are what is expected of a professional college with fair amount of homework and exams are based on the work done in class. Questions are staightforward, not tricky. How do I even begin to explain the change I experienced not only academically but personally at MCNY? First the staff was so welcoming and genuinely interested in ME!! They were warm and informative to me as a mature learner and put me at ease immediately as to all the young people walking around. I really thought I could not keep up. NOT! Then, the faculty. Yes, they were tough but tough to keep you on your toes and interested. ALL of them were outstanding. They instilled a discipline in me to stay focused, be on time and prepared and do your assignments!! They had a personal interest in my succeeding. (Hey Heidi). They held me to a standard and made ME motivated to finish and finish I did. I got to carry my schools flag at graduation!! I am so blessed to be an MCNY Graduate of 2007 BABY! Metropolitan College of New York is one of the best hidden secrets for higher learning. As a graduate of MCNY with a Bachelors in Business Administration, I learned so much from my professors. They took the time to explain what they wanted from their students. We met afterwards if I didn't understand something and they even took the time to set up tutoring sessions for their students. I would recommend MCNY to anyone who is looking to get their under graduate or graduate degree. The class schedules are set up for busy adults who work and/or run their own businesses and need flexibility to get the education they need to succeed. MCNY is an exceptional college with knowledgeable faculty and staff. The school has a unique approach on how it caters to their students educational experience. I benefited from one on one sessions with my CA instructor who took time to understand me and listen to my ideas. He offered guidance and openly shared his experiences with the class. He wanted all of us to succeed but most importantly understood what it means to be a professional. He wanted us to understand that not matter the circumstances to continue learning and researching our fields.
