As someone who isn’t from the USA and relocated from United Kingdom , it was important that I made the correct choice when it came to education in the United States , after doing my research and reaching out to different schools who have a massage program I chose gateway because from the first contact with Mr Tapscott he was super friendly , passionate and helpful , he made sure I had all the information I needed and he directed me to the right place to complete my registration to the program . The price is amazing and they definitely can charge way more for the service they provide , gateway and especially Mr Tapscott made the process so easy and comfortable . My first day of class was so welcoming and they went the extra mile to make sure I/ we students were comfortable , I had the best experience at gateway and this experience was due to my fellow classmates but mostly for the teachers attitude and pride in teaching , Mr Tapscott , ms bouer, and mr Ybarra were amazing , they are so good at what they do and the effort and dedication they put in to each and every student sets them apart from any other education opportunity I’ve taken , we created a family and this includes the teachers , they allowed us to learn at our own pace and didn’t disrespect us , they encouraged us , the material in the program was inspiring and the method of teaching made the learning fun , it was a pleasure to go to gateway for the 9 months of the program and I looked forward to seeing my teachers and classmates everyday throughout the course , the program allows for Externship which gives us the opportunity to work with others in the community also work with employers of massage therapy , it gives you an insight to what to expect after the program . This in my option gives you the experience and confidence to be successful in your future , I love Mr Tapscott and is in my opinion an amazing teacher , a kind , honest , trustworthy person who has pride in his work , he has a pride for everything he does or talks about , I couldn’t of asked for a better college to attend and I am blessed to be apart of the experience and to see people who are passionate about what they do to improve peoples lives . I felt included and that I had a voice within this experience. I recently graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Gateway. Mr. Tapscott and his team were the most supportive, inspirational, knowledgeable and humorous group of instructors I have ever studied under. Mr. Tapscott taught the online portion of the course that was heavily weighted in anatomy, physiology and introduction to massage therapy. Mr. Tapscott was always offering assistance to students and following up on financial aid, GI Bill funding, finding places to do externships, or assisting with any other issues the students may have faced. The lab portions of the class were taught by Mr. Ybarra and Ms. Bauer, both experienced massage therapists, both dedicated to successful outcomes for all the students. Mr. Ybarra is known for his demonstrations on various massage and stretching techniques during labs. All three instructors shared a great many stories of their experiences in the massage industry. This team of teachers worked very well together and created an environment where the students felt proud to be part of the class and continuously improved in their massage skills through out the course. Each teacher has a great sense of humor, will be direct if there are issues to address but they are always respectful and professional. The program was also the start of many long lasting friendships and a successful future in the massage industry for myself. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! I have been attending this school for a while. When I had enrolled I wasn’t given proper information. I do online school and I’ve been struggling with math and biology and to my surprise the instructors do not put the effort in to help other students online. I went in to speak to an advisor and low and behold she didn’t help either. I have a learning disability and stated that information to the advisor and the best answer she gave me was “unfortunately we don’t have special services for students who have disabilities” I’m in the process of getting my associates degree in DMS and no advisors informed me before I started the program that I needed to take an HESI Exam. Another thing is for students who do the online classes, students have to their webcams on to take the tests/quizzes but don’t require it during other class time such as completing assignments. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SCHOOL!!! THERE IS NO HELP WHAT SO EVER AND DONT HELP STUDENTS SUCCEED!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! And because I struggle in math, I’ve tried free Tutoring and they only available for an hour and if you need more time you need to make a new appointment. Signing up was easy, I was provided help at every step in order to insure my success when I completed my diploma, I felt confident enough to move forward with a degree. Once I completed my diploma and as I have been working on my degree I have had the best career advisor. Even though life got busy with work, school and home issues and sometimes I did not respond, my career counselor Marianne Cooper never gave up on me. Everyone was always willing to assist you with whatever is needed and very responsive to all communication. I absolutely love the RT program here, the instructors are probably the best I have ever had. They have super high standards, but they also help you reach those high standards. The school is a bit pricey, but you get helpful instructors, with real experience, and who are ready to assist you whenever you need it. Plus, the hands on experience in class is a huge benefit. The only two downsides is not the program itself, but the food and beverage options in the school “cafe”, and the uniforms. For the price of the program, the uniforms are very stiff, and definitely nothing close to decent quality. So, if your enrolling, make sure to put some $$ aside to buy comfortable scrubs that actually fit you. As for the cafe, it would be great to have a real coffee machine (not instant coffee), so we don’t have the need to go off campus for caffeine. Overall though, I love my program, the instructors, and the new career PIMA is helping me prepare for. I definitely would recommend PIMA to anyone who wants to actually start a new medical career!Christina Romero

This school is easy to get started at. I was admitted to the RT program immediately after taking some brief tests and completing a mock study schedule. It is not a cheap option, but the wait list for cheaper schools is two years long…so I decided to get my schooling done rather than wait. I hope that the high price of education here all goes to the instructors, because they are the only worthwhile part of attending here. The admissions staff will make whatever promises they need to make to get you signed up, even if it is something they can’t deliver. The facility and equipment is old. The programs are fast paced and will leave you behind unless you are serious about learning the material.Derek Aaron

Choosing Pima Medical Institute and their Respiratory Therapy program was one of the best decisions my family and I have made. The program was very thorough and straightforward in the teachings. The thing I enjoyed the most was the constant engagement you were able to have with the instructors. Everyone is very open and willing to help in any situation whether it was school related or just life in general. The PD is amazing and she will do everything in her power to make sure you are not only a successful graduate but you are a successful RRT for many years to come. The school is great if you are a nurse. Don’t get me wrong I have nurses in my family and love them dearly. However if you are going for any other programs but nursing just know that you might be forgotten. The teachers in the program you select will do anything to help you get ahead and make sure you graduate. They will provide tools and even one on one sessions. Graduation was bitter sweet. I made and found my footing to do what I love. But everyone one else was forgotten. My family thought they were at the wrong graduation because all they talked about was the nursing. Not even a mention of any other program and those in that program working hard to be where they are today. I am currently attending the MBC program and I absolutely love it! My instructor has made going back to school very enjoyable and I truly look forward to class every time. She is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I feel that I will be ready to start my new career by the end of my time here at Carrington. I had a great experience with Kinsee, she was very helpful and giving me clear information on what to expect from the medical assisting program. I was shown around the building I was explained what every room was used for and where I could go to seek help for every situation I would need. Wether it be help to look for a job, break room, finance room and more. I was shown the ins and outs of the building, the classroom I would be in. I took the 4 week CNA program during the summer and am now certified and working in a hospital. The class was incredibly informative and prepared you tremendously for the exams. I went into my exams incredibly confident and was helped throughout the program with any questions I had. While the program itself was amazing, there were several instances that made getting my certification from the program miserable. My instructor was the sweetest woman but spent most of the time questioning her own knowledge on the topics she was teaching. We had another instructor come in to assist our class and she spent a lot of time talking down to the students for messing up simple steps on topics we were just taught for the first time minutes prior. One student had a breakdown due to being constantly ridiculed by this instructor (management was told and nothing changed) most students avoided her like the plague. The two instructors who taught my class would then bicker with each other on what was correct in front of the entire class, it was extremely unprofessional. I would recommend this program, I just hope they have talked to their team and discuss how to handle conflicts better.Hailey Carpenter

I completed my CNA program with AMTI & would definitely recommend it to anyone that's willing to commit to a few weeks of hard work. The program is fast paced but if you study & stick with it, you will succeed. It definitely feels like the course is geared towards those wanting to go into hospice, long term care, etc. but I always knew I would be going the acute route after graduation – I am now working as a nursing assistant in the ICU at a hospital here in the valley. I don't know what these reviews talking about having their money stolen are all about, it's made very clear from the beginning that if you cannot keep your grades up & be there for lectures/instruction, you will not receive a refund. My only comment for improvement is that all the instructors get on the same page, we left a lot of classes confused because one instructor would tell us one thing & another would tell us otherwise. I am so happy I went with my gut & decided to attend AMTI. I just finished my CNA weekend 7 week program & passed my state boards on the first try. I did experience some uncertainty when speaking with student services, I had some questions that I didn't feel were answered properly. I even went down to the campus for more information & I didn't leave confident that this was the right school to choose. I took a risk & went with it anyways. The instructors were absolutely wonderful. Barb E. was my skills instructor & you can tell how much passion she has for nursing and for training future CNA's and nurses. These teachers truly give you so many resources and provide you with every thing you need to pass the program and pass your state boards. I highly recommend taking your CNA training here. This is the premiere place if you are interested in getting into the medical field! I am currently in the Medical Assistant program and completed the Nursing Assistant program last year. When on externship for the Nursing, it was a night and day difference between Pima and the other schools. Pima clearly has a finger on the pulse (no pun intended) of what medical offices are looking for and delivers exceptionally. When I was looking at getting into a program, naturally I started looking at the Community Colleges given the cost. Many have lengthy waiting lists to enter and the quality of education pales in comparison to Pima. I knew of Pima and had heard good things, but thought I would not be able to afford it. After some saving I put myself through the NA program (it was $1600.00) as the US Dept. of Ed doesn't offer financial aid for such a low amount. However, being in the MA program, I was in fact able to obtain financial aid. Pima is a bit more expensive than other places. However, the programs are fast tracked because you are learning core subjects, things you will actually use in the real world. Not electives and other nonsensical classes that aim to have you be a "well rounded individual" but ultimately do a disservice as the length of time to graduate and get a job is much longer. Plus, if you're looking at the medical field, you probably have an idea of what it takes and are already pretty well rounded. I am about to turn 40. It is never too late to get into a new career! If you are looking to get on the fast track to a career and are interested in learning in a fun and focused environment, I highly recommend coming to Pima. I attended Pima medical institution to become a veterinarian assistant. I love on how they teach you in the program on what to know in order to become an assistant. The teacher Dr. Watson I love on her energy and the way she teaches the class, she can be pushy, but she never gives up on you easily. Im now working at an awesome clinic and I’m really loving my job, the veterinarians they’re very nice to work with. I’m thinking of becoming a veterinarian technician so I’ll definitely come back to Pima to attend classes soon. I started the Respiratory Therapy program in 2007, as a non-traditional student seeking some sort of career in the medical field, but having no background in medicine whatsoever. It was hands down the best decision I ever made in terms of career choices. My instructors and the Program Director were patient, knowledgeable, and so caring. I graduated and was able to find work in the field right away here in Tucson. I loved the culture at Pima Medical Institute so much that I came back 10 years later to teach, helping to educate future RTs in the field. I whole heartedly recommend PMI-Tucson nursing program. This is not your typical nursing school. Yes, it is accelerated, but they care! I am a student that travels from Phoenix every week to attend school, and both the program director Mrs. Wiebelhaus and the clinical director Mrs. Morelli regularly check-in to make sure I am doing okay. When I got sick and had to miss two weeks of class, my instructors made sure I had all the notes and homework so that I did not fall behind. PMI is a wonderful school to attend for nursing! I absolutely love my instructors, and I know they genuinely care about me and the level of education I receive. So much thought is put into each individual class, and there are many resources to reach out to if you need additional help. I just started my first semester of school and I will update to keep my review true to the stars I give. I never finished college when I was supposed to, 20 years ago, so now I’m back! It was hard looking for schools that would take me and my grades. There aren’t too many nursing schools in the Vegas Valley but I talked to a lot of them. They told me I would have to retake my classes, and/or take more classes before they would even let me in. I figured it would be an extra 1-3 years before I even got into their programs and I didn’t know what to take first and in which order to take them. Everything was so confusing! So I am glad that AZ accepted me in (with my HS GPA). Bruce was amazing and he made things easy in bringing me into the college! Ask for him if you’re interested in applying here. It’s a fairly new college to the Las Vegas area. The staff seem to like each other, laugh with each other and enjoy what they do. I love that. Who wants to go to school and learn from staff that hate what they do. Although for the first part of Nursing School we are in actual class for 2 or 3 days a week, it is a FULL time course. In orientation I heard people saying that they were going to work full time. I also heard that by the time you get to the Core classes, there aren’t as many students left. AZ has a high expectation where you have to get at least a B average in certain classes to get into Core. So I don’t believe that trying to go to an accelerated course like this, although “2-3 days a week” and working will work, thus the reason why people don’t make it into Core. You’ve got to put in 100% of yourself in studies. Also there are 2 ways Colleges and University’s get accredited. They are either regionally accredited or nationally accredited. So do your research before choosing a college. I chose this school because I don’t plan to move anywhere in the next 3 years. I want to stay in this school and I don’t plan to transfer out. As for the finance part of it, my military benefit of Post 9/11 covers the entire 3 years. I also applied for FASFA and I’m receiving an amount from them. Arizona College Of Nursing would be best described as a school that only cares about getting money from students. Alex Chang is an advisor who will probably only contact you when it’s good for him, which is probably 20% of the time. Catherine Chege seems like a chicken with her head cut off running around never knowing any correct information talking 1000 mph while giving you the incorrect information and not really caring about anything besides herself. This school has not only wasted my time but wasted my money, with endless lies and promises that at the last minute were taken away. Don’t think this is just a disgruntled student who couldn’t pass, I currently have a 4.0 I was promised to be able to start at a certain date and as the date approached, was told that I would have to wait a year to start my classes, like that was some gift from them to me. So condescending and disrespectful when I have been working myself to DEATH trying to get everything done so I could start core. As if anyone even cared. And to top that off I was told directly by Catherine that at least I only wasted a little bit of time. Yes a little bit of time, three semesters $3000 and taking classes only for this specific program. That sure sounds like just a little bit of time doesn’t it? My so-called advisor never even bothered to reach back out to me because well why would he if they weren’t going to get my money. I would advise before thinking about this school, honestly just teach yourself to be a nurse before You even ever apply— you would probably get much further. They are t worried about supporting nurses they just need to make sure you can afford that $717/ credit hr. Unless you want to waste your time money and mental health go anywhere else but here. I guess they thought ignoring me would make the situation go away but I’ll be letting everyone know EXACTLY how this school operates until I can’t find anymore review sites. If you don’t want to respond to me professionally, then I’ll just allow everyone to know the details of personally. Don’t bother contacting me now either, it’s too late. I have been at Arizona College for nearly a year now. My time that I have been here has been filled with many great memories and memorable experiences. Arizonas staff members and professors show their genuine role in leading a way for their students success and makes it known that they genuinely care for their students. Arizona College is very disorganized. I started in March of 2020, and now I am leaving to another college due to how I have been treated. My counselor heather was rude. Sometimes I won’t get an email back. I have been back and forth many times through email not only with counselors and financial advisors, but the director Bernadette as well. It seems as though no one knows what is going on. An example, I need official transcripts to move to a new school, I was advised to only make one payment of $269 and my transcripts should be released . Only to be told I needed to pay another $633, then to be told again that the next month I need to finish paying another $269 and an additional $633. All in the month of December. That really put a damper not only on my mood but for the holidays as well. Get ready to hear this! After all those payments the registrar office had told me as soon as I pay for a new transcript they would be released immediately. Nothing to my surprise they are still on hold. This school costs way too much to be as disorganized as they are. Save yourself the headache and avoid this school. My course schedules have been changed many times due to the fact that they had forgotten to enroll me in classes. I was not even notified of these changes. Which affects the amount of aid you receive. I feel as though any person would like to know what they are getting themselves into, especially if they are going to be having a large out of pocket cost . I have not started going to school at Arizona College but, working with their staff has been a breeze. Heather Straight has been super helpful, kind, patient, outgoing, and knowledgeable. She is fast to reply and ensures I understand every detail I need to know. Heather went over my transcript with me and class schedules. Heather also made sure I knew which credits I could transfer over from my current school. The financial advisor Yvonne Inclan was super patient and knowledgeable. She took the time to help me process my FAFSA, introduced me to some scholarships, and went over every detail of intuition. She was clear about everything to ensure I fully understood every charge and fee. Kristy Mobray assisted me with my HESI exam and, she was also very kind, patient, and outgoing. She is very knowledgeable and is also a great asset to this team. Last, Matthew which is the campus director was very helpful. He was very welcoming and kind. This school is not regionally accredited so don’t ever try to transfer credits that you have taken here out. I have had great experiences with the professors at this school they have all been wonderful and the coursework is very reasonable. However the administration needs work. I have many fellow students who have both witnessed and been targeted by discrimination from administrators. Financial aid is a mess and there is a contestant revolving door of advisors, my advisor specifically changed three times in the 8 months I attended and they could never seem to locate information that I had sent them multiple times. Administration truly only cares about how this school looks to everyone not enrolled in it. When the company who “accredits” them visited the school the admin made it very clear that we were supposed to give them glowing reviews even if that was not how we felt. There is a lot going on behind the closed doors that you don’t experience until they’ve convinced you to give them your money. I don't know where to begin. Being frustrated and feeling as though I am giving the runaround, trying to get my diploma and trying to get my official transcript from a school that never answers a phone call during business hours. I never had to rely on a voicemail message to get back in contact with me due to miss understanding of phones calls. I have set up a payment arrangement back in May 2021, and I was told that if I miss a payment out of six months I will have to start all over again. I have been making payments and unfortunately was told that I missed three payments but look at my account and I see they're taking money out of my account. But still won’t give me my diploma. The staff is very rude and have not sympathy or compassion about the students other are trying to make something out of themselves in life. Talking to the staff is like hopping and excepting. Staff that not willing to work with you to try to help me. I've been only help by Miss Sherry, which I was told no longer works there. She's been the only person helping me getting my diploma and trying to get everything situated. I feel frustrated disappointed disgusted and hurt that I can't even depend on the school that I thought would help me succeed in life. This is hurtful and I would not wishes upon no one else. I work so hard live alone have no family here and you're telling me that I can't get any of my transcripts or I can't get my diploma because you guys messed up on your end and you're making me suffer which is not right and unacceptable. As much as I talk about you guys school and the staff that helps me and for someone to sit there and make me feel as though it's my fault is unacceptable. Question would you want to recommend a school to someone? If I could give 0 stars, I would. Every campus that I have spoken to someone on the phone has been rude and dismissive and not willing to help… I attended the nursing program in 2016…completed one semester…and had to withdraw from the second (before it started) because My son was having health issues. They told me to come back whenever I wanted that they would gladly accept me back into the program where I left off… which was absolutely not true! When I tried to go back….i was told I could be accepted into the current semester…Which would have been fine except….they were changing the curriculum the following semester…Which if I would have gone back would have forced me to start all over again…. Also, When I asked If I would be able to have a financial credit for the first semester that I completed because they changed the curriculum, I was told to speak with the head of the nursing dept and then she told me that was a question for financial aid who then referred me back to the nursing dept head…and they both said that they couldn’t help me. Don’t waste your time nor effort here. $24,000 down the drain for absolutely nothing! And not only that, But when you try to have your transcripts sent, it takes forever to actually get a hold of someone…and with the rude staff on the phone at every single campus it’s ridiculous!Melissa Kloess

I’m so happy I came across the Arizona College of Allied Health on google. I requested to receive more information about the college and not even a few days later I get a text from Justin. Justin was very nice and gave me so much information that helped me decide this was the college for me. Before I came here I was at Community Colleges for the last 5 years completing only prerequisites not even in a program yet. When Justin told me I would graduate next year in July getting my DA diploma I was beyond excited. I can’t thank Justin enough for all his help. I just got done with my first track passing all my classes. I could have not done it without Ms. Vosteen. She is the best teacher I’ve ever had at all the schools I’ve been to. I am going to miss being in her classes but I am so excited to continue my journey. Horrible horrible experience. Lack of empathy towards students. Laurie in particular is absolutely horrible at her job. I don’t know her job title or if she even has a degree but, she made me and my families life very stressful. Finding a nursing school should be exciting, but this was a nightmare. It started by calling multiple times and the school not having a profile saved with my information. Laurie, I had to give you my information every time I spoke with you until I was assertive enough to ask if you or someone could possibly create me a profile? Then, before I knew that I guess Arizona College only allows you to get your questions answered by one person, I spoke with another “Admissions Advisor” because I was tired of constantly texting and never could get a reply. I expressed that I would have preferred a phone call. It’s kind of nice to actually speak to someone over the phone especially, when you’re about to make a life changing decision. I just wanted a phone call to see where things were and get the answers I needed. Texting isn’t clear and at that point in the admissions process a phone call should have taken place. Laurie appeared to get upset and stated “I was told you don’t like me and don’t want to work with me?” This is very unprofessional. I was being gossiped about and started to feel there must be bonuses or possible commission involved. I felt like I was in a ran down car lot being pushed to buy a car I didn’t want. All Laurie’s concern was for me to sign the application. She was never enthusiastic about starting nursing school. Something along the lines of “come in and take a tour with your family and see what our campus has to offer. I can also help clarify any questions or concerns you and your spouse may have.” Instead it was always arguing back and forth with her. It was ridiculous! The biggest thing is that I was given the run around multiple times, this was extremely stressful. I was told one thing one minute and another the next. This is why I called someone else to get clarification. I felt Laurie is incompetent. It’s important to know the handbook and what the admissions process consists of. First she wanted this document. Turns out it had to be a different document. Then, she lost the email and asked if I could send another document. Turns out none of the documents worked after being told they would. I was never offered a tour of the school, rarely got a return phone call, texted all day, treated with rudeness, given the run around daily, etc. For a $100,000 degree I expect to have an actual Admissions Advisor helping me through my admission process. I’m not that hard to please and I’m a humble person, but this is uncalled for. Get to know the handbook and what the state or school actually requires for admissions instead of having me do the work to track down and pay for documents that once again won’t work. An advisor that remembers my name, treats me with respect and kindness, and someone who has a profile set-up with my information so that every time we reconnect she has my information in front of her would have been ideal. I shouldn’t have to explain what we just talked about more than 3x. Names of colleges attended, my excellent GPA, my current degrees, reminding her I already sent my transcripts, my current career, reminding her of my name, etc. I'm so glad it didn’t work out. I want a school that supports me and somewhere where I feel secure. If the admissions process is like that then, I can’t imagine how I’m suppose to keep a solid B through the whole BSN program with faculty like that. Absolutely the most stressful admissions process from any school I have looked into. I’m so glad it didn’t work out. Everything happens for a reason. I don’t want to help them improve their graduation rates. I will take my degree in Medical Assisting, 8 years of medical field experience, 1 1/2 years of nursing pre-reqs, and my excellent GPA to a school who values me and my compassion for helping people and saving lives.Lacey Newton

Where do I start!! I submit an inquiry for information about the accelerated BSN program on a Sunday Night. I filled out information for GCU and Arizona College of Nursing. I spoke with Laurie from Arizona College of Nursing **the next day**, and I don’t even remember the name of the person I spoke with at GCU. The minute I spoke with Laurie, she led the way. She helped me get my starter ducks in a row to begin the process for enrollment. She provided all the resources needed to get everything going for the August 31st class. I truly believe that the schools 3-year BSN program and Laurie are the two key points to my decision. As soon as I was in, I was in. She didn’t let me go, she followed-up with me consistently to ensure I was ready and had everything I needed to be successful. I was scheduled for my HESI-A2 test that Friday, passed and have been happy, grateful, excited ever since. The school is very hands-on and engaged to make sure you have what you need and the tools to be successful. Also Ms. Amanda at the front desk is amazing! She’s a total sweetheart and is there for anything you need just as all the other staff members are. Ms. Jardee is also phenomenal! I mean I could go on but I would literally be here forever. They have workshops, laptop programs for an affordable price, with so many more resources and benefits to make sure you are on the right track. Bottom line is, if you’re thinking about enrolling- DO It! And if you’re choosing between Arizona college of nursing and another school, go with Arizona college of Nursing because you will not regret it!!Fatima Nimes

Please do not apply to this school ! Do not apply to the Phoenix campus or the Tempe campus . They only take in students of color to meet the government’s diversity quota for government based grant . They treat students of color like garbage . They actually hired racist , hateful professors like professor Nicole Solomon ! they are bullies. I’m a student transfer from a different state which I attended Carrington college. I recently relocated back to Az in hopes to finish nursing school here. I struggled where I came from trying to work only as needed so I can go full time in nursing school. Where I’m from classes were only offered during the day. I moved back to Az so I can work full time again and attend classes in the evenings. I lost almost everything I had where I was because of not working Harley any hours. Here, I can attempt to pay bills by working full time days and still go to classes in the evenings. I put in 4 out of 6 semesters with Carrington. The Mesa campus director, Antonio Thompson, took that from me. I pay out of pocket because I have exhausted my financial aid on a different degree that still pays very little. Young, and thinking I was doing the right thing many years ago, as the first to go to college in my family, I attended a private school which ate up my financial aid. Little did I know that there was only so much FA you can borrow to get through your bachelors. Antonio Thompson made a decision to not enroll me because of a balance I cannot afford to pay up front. I struggled to make payments. It’s not easy to survive on your own with no other income and attend nursing school, and because I can’t pay up front, he took my dream and life away. I’ve been depressed ever since. I’ve been in healthcare 20+ years and I know I would be an outstanding RN. I’ve worked in the ICU and managed in healthcare. It’s amazing how an individual wants to make a life for themselves and just be educated can be told no… basically you’re not good enough for us to educate you because you can’t afford it. I’m not trying to get free education. I’m trying to better my life so I can pay all my bills, including my student loans.Kat

Unprofessional. Went to school here in 2018 but couldn’t finish it off. I contacted them a little over a YEAR ago so I can restart my path. Was in touch with Ernesto and out of nowhere stop receiving replies. I sent emails left messages and even went to the school. Every time was promised to be contacted. But I didn’t know it would take A WHOLE YEAR! Ernesto just contacted me today, a whole year later after I first inquired about the school. No thank you. First semester was great. Second and third had so many staffing issues. Teaching was inconsistent and had professors leave and be replaced mid way through. The financial aide department is a complete mess. I received three different financial plans from three different financial planners stating that after financial aid, I owed out of pocket ranging from $1600- $19000. A little bit of discrepancy there. Two stars. One for my enrollment advisor, Maribel and second semester. Other than that , the staff and quality of instruction we received in the third semester leaves much to be desired.George Ruiz

I have been going to this school for more than 2 years now, I will be done with BACHELORS (YAY) next year! It goes by fast! This school has given me so much to be proud of! They have mapped up my every class, clinical, and lab! They are available always when I need help! The instructors are always available to help when you need them and want you to succeed! AZC has some of the best passing rates on the NCLEX because of the way they create their tests here at school is very similar to the NCLEX test itself. Some say that this school doesn't really let you work or have outside life, and that is true. Before you sign up make sure this is your first priority, it is not easy. If you fail a class you have one chance to re-take it and pass it. If you do not, you are out of the school. Failing must not be an option. You have to get at least 77% accumulative on the exams or you fail. There is one nursing math test that requires a 100% or you fail, you have 3 times to take that. With that being said, I have never failed. If you put in the time, the work, ask for help when you need it, the teachers and staff will be here. I am very excited for my future because of this school and have a lot of friends beside me excited as well!Deena Binder

Love this school (Tempe, AZ)! Yes it’s expensive, but it will be worth it. The admissions part was very smooth sailing. The professors here are amazing. The environment is awesome. This school will help you get to where you want to be. If you are having a hard time in any class, there are professors and counselors that will help you. They want to see you succeed. I feel like when I previously went to a community college, all they cared about was if you had a 4.0 or not. Keep in mind in most classes, you do need at least a B in every class to pass, but this school will help you in every way to make that happen. Nursing school is not whatsoever “easy”. It is hard. It like a full time job and it will take up your time. But keep-in mind we are going to be nurses one day, helping save lives. It’s supposed to be hard and difficult. Trust me, if I can do it, you can too!! Highly highly recommend this school. When it comes to the financial aid part, I just wish there were better financial advisors. After attending Arizona College of Las Vegas for about year. I can honestly say the professors do their best to teach especially during the circumstances of Covid. However, I have since then moved out of state and they will not release me my transcripts. It came down to them not doing their job and submitting the forms I signed for financial aid to the government to cover the 2,000 dollars from my last session before I moved. All they had to do was submit the forms on time before the semester ended…Due to this, they are now saying I owe them at least HALF the money before they will even release my transcripts. They are putting my future in jeopardy due to their incompetence. Just beware before attending this school. Don’t say someone didn’t warn you.Julia Cox

Having our mother here is like having her at home, with the added benefit of a safe and friendly environment when she needs medical assistance and supervision. We visit her often and the staff are wonderful, both professionally and on a personal level. The setting does not hurt, nestled up against the Catalina and Rincon ranges in a quiet neighborhood. TALR has been open exactly as long as the COVID pandemic; they have had the added burden of juggling protocols and safety while maintaining an open environment where their residents' loved ones can see and meet with them regularly. Theres a feeling of tranquility the moment you enter. I am so pleased with the service my friend received. Elena and the staff made the experience calming fun and interesting with the activities, and the attention and care given to my friend. It was also very reassuring to know that she was well prepared and extremely observant for anyone who was feeling faint/experiencing syncope during class. Stefanie is very compassionate toward her students and truly cares for each person's learning. She is patient and always willing to slow down whenever any student has a question. Beyond that, Stefanie is always sharing relevant anecdotes, tips, tricks and advice that can help students become the best phlebotomists that they can be. Not only does she help students figure what is right and wrong, academically and practically, she also takes the time to explain WHY things are done in a certain manner. I am so happy I decided to take the 4 week fast tack phlebotomy course at Medstar Academy. I am not going to lie, I was a bit weary at first, but decided to give Medstar a shot after reading the other reviews here, hence, why I am leaving one myself. I immediately felt welcomed and at home by Brenda when I went to register for the class. She took the time to show me where I was going to be learning and went over what the four weeks were going to look like. Something that stood out to me was the payment plan they offer WITHOUT ANY FEES. I was shocked as usually a school will make you pay an extra fee to utilize a payment plan. They are extremely flexible as well, as long as you communicate with them, which I appreciated. I was extremely nervous on my first day, but my classmates immediately felt like they were always my friends. It just happened to be a class of all girls so while learning, we were always having fun, joking around, and supporting each other. Stefanie was my instructor and she was phenomenal. She was extremely personable, sharing about her family and her work experience. She made me feel extremely comfortable and safe about the idea of poking others. Trust me, it really is a weird concept, sticking a needle into your classmates' arms and hands. However, with the training we received in lecture, we were prepared to take what we learned into the lab. I will say, Stefanie did play a huge role in the experience I had at Medstar Academy, and I really hope anyone reading this, thinking about taking the fast track phlebotomy class, gets to have her as an instructor too. I am in the final week of my CNA course with Ms. Zafiris, and it has been such an amazing experience. You can tell Ms. Zafiris cares passionately about teaching and her students. Her decades of knowledge and personal experience add a lot to the class, and I feel like I am very well prepared for the State exam. She has high expectations and pushes everyone to be successful. This class is definitely not a walk in the park! There is a lot of material to cover in a short amount of time, and you are expected to read the material and be prepared for class each session. I now have so much more respect for all CNAs knowing the level of commitment and knowledge that is required to achieve licensure. Medstar wants you to be successful, and I felt they made many accommodations for students when necessary. I am currently completing prerequisites for a BSN program through NAU, and I decided to take Medstar's CNA class to gain some bedside experience while in school. Kino collage is a great program to help you become the best medical assistant, they have professionals teachers such as DO’s, Rn’s, PA’s and experienced MA’s.These amazing teachers will help you to ask the right questions to patients and earn critical thinking. Although things were different because of Covid, they tried their best to give us more clinicals hours in classroom since we did not have midterm. We also dissected a pig and sutured chicken breast. They will also help you to pass your certification exam. Phil will try his hardest to give you the placement that you want for externship and once you are out there you are more than ready than you think. They will celebrate with you your accomplishments outside of school. I was concerned to start the program since English is my second language but they will help you to be more comfortable throughout the program. Kino is still growing, which is important to give feedback and here is mine. Kino needs to motivate their students a little more to remind them why they want to be MA since as students some of us can get unmotivated at times. Some classes were repetitive I believe their should be more communication between teachers to avoid this to see what topics need to be review and which don’t. I believe we all needed more practice with medical terminology and homework on a few things rather than reading the chapters. Our schedule were different each day which made it a little hard to prepare for that class. There was one teacher who would favoritism students which was unprofessional. Lastly grading and supplies were given to us late, which was a little frustrating because you do not know on what you need to work on more than others. Overall my experience with kino was good most of the time and I appreciate the work that they have given us to become the best medical assistant.Yeneth Victoria

I just completed this program at Kino College. In the beginning I was nervous about enrolling at Kino because I didn’t know what to expect and didn’t know anyone from here either. Throughout the course I got to know all of my classmates and we became friends. Phil and Mr. Wilson go out of their way to ensure each student receives the right educational tools. If you’re struggling on a specific topic the instructor will go over anything you need them to. The first few months you’re hitting the books, studying for the NCCT exam, and taking tests. The last few months is when you go into more of the hands on stuff such as rooming, taking vitals, ekg’s, venipuncture, injections, suturing, and so much more. Then towards the end you complete 200 hours of externship. For externship Phil tries his best to place you at a location where they are hiring with hopes that when you’re done you’re offered a job. If not he will try his best to find you a job interview. I am grateful I came across this program 9 months ago and now I am a Certified Medical Assistant! I am glad that I made right decision to chose Kino college to become an MA. I love that we got taught by different medical providers and learn for their experiences. I also love the hands on experience was awesome. I also liked that we got to do our midterm-ship at actually hospital to work with real patients and get that experience. I loved that the instructors teach us in a very good pace to help us understand and get the best learning experiences. For externship I like that they try their best to put you in the right Practice field you want to work at. I’m a current student in the ADN program. I knew it was fast paced when I signed up, I knew what it would be like to do a program like this. I prepared myself but the school didn’t really care about the fact that COVID affected everyone differently. Especially a few of the instructors. I never missed a day of school after I got COVID the first week of class and was prompt in communication and was sick for weeks but told I had to return or I’d fall too far behind. I definitely struggled during the semester, but I pushed through, one of my instructors who is the Pharm teacher let me know I couldn’t use COVID as an excuse. She was not sympathetic and wouldn’t let me re take anything, while my other teacher encouraged me and pushed me till I passed. The biggest issue is you have one set of people who care and another set who don’t. They need to reevaluate their staff because they are definitely discouraging many of the students. My experience it was so bad here.. it was a nightmare there was one instructor she was a bully!! She was instructor here and at. 6751 N Sunset Blvd #330, Glendale, She bully students she didn’t like she was so childish unprofessional she act like a high schooler Mean girl lol . she would talk bad about the one student she doesn’t like to everybody to make her look horrible the saddest part is some believe her. she pick favorites and will literally fail students she don't like and brag about it. Fast paced schooling which I love. I attended the Glendale campus because it was so much closer to me than the Phoenix campus on Dunlap. I know it’s not for everyone. I liked that they had the option of doing evening classes, it was pretty flexible with the 2 days outta the week. My dental instructor Mr. Hester was knowledgeable and really helped prep me for my radiation health exam, which I was able to pass on the first try. And found a job rather quickly after I finished. Few things I didn’t like was having to attend all those meetings for how to write a resume and how to look professional for an interview, I really hated those lol. But that showed me that they really do help set you up for success if you have no experience in working for a professional field.Yuzelly Ramirez

Pediatric HH nursing comes with it’s own unique challenges and rewards. Maxim Works hard to find a good match for families and nurses alike. I love having an app to submit paperwork and manage my schedule! They have a novice nurse program which makes me very happy because most nurses do not receive clinical training for dealing with our fragile and unique population. So kudos to them for having this training program. The current office staff are very supportive and available which I appreciate. The clinical supervisors are very supportive and helpful, whenever I need to contact them they are kind and helpful. I’ve learned a lot about trachs, vents, and respiratory problems in pediatric patients and appreciate the extensive training available through the company website. Maxim has been a great company to work for in my personal experience. Maxim had given me the opportunity to work in pediatrics as an LPN(in AZ hospitals do not hire LPN's ='s slim pediatric opportunities). I started in their novice nurse program where I received pediatric care training, vent and tracheostomy training, as well as acquiring my article 9 certification which is great to have. I was provided with all the hours I wanted in regards to training, they really want you to feel comfortable doing your job you just need to ask. Maxim has worked with my school schedule, provided me with endless opportunities, all the hours I want,I now train newbies and I am happy going to work. I was recruited by staff at Maxim for a new position for an in home client. I was the first CNA home health aid for the company. Despite the process being brand new, staff was professional, efficient and had me hired and adequately trained by the day the client wanted services. I had extensive training for compliance and code of conduct in addition to the general training. Very pleasant to work for. If I can give this place 0 stars I would. My father was admitted here after back surgery. There was an issue with his phone being lost during transportation which MedStar was gracious enough to drop it off to a nurse at Catalina. I started receiving alerts that my dad's phone was in use. I reported this to a case manager and she right away put the blame on one of the patients. I later realized it was one of their employees. The nurse, whom they've refused to identify other than a red haired nurse that works nights took it upon herself to keep my dad's cell phone without giving it back to him. She not only decided to steal his phone but access his personal email and read through his emails, change the name on his account and attempted to break into my cellular account which luckily has extra security. The phone was never recovered and was told by administration that they were going to investigate and deal with her accordingly. I filed a police report as well. Ethan (the admin) stated they would compensate for the cell phone which I have not been able to get a hold of for 2 weeks now and therefore, no compensation. I have been speaking with a very sweet gentlemen by the name of Mica, how has been trying to help me get things resolved. It's unfortunate that this place has staff that takes advantage of people who are there to recovery. My dad is an elderly man that if in another circumstance didn't have someone to advocate for him, that person would have gotten away with it.Gabriela Martinez

Nice facility. Charming looking place on the outside. On the inside there are people that order food thru door dash and think it’s acceptable to tell the driver that because they couldn’t tip in the app, that they’ll definitely tip since you were so great and quick in getting their food to them. Thanks Deborah. I was just filled with warm emotion and glee that you looked directly in my eyes and told me you were going to tip extra and you di… oh wait Deborah didn’t. It totaled out to zero dollars, after door dashes cut, in my pocket for over a three mile drive. ZERO. I’m glad I met Deborah tonight to know what kind of place this is and what kind of person she is. I hope the attitudes and demeanors of the nurses and staff at Catalina Post Acute/ Rehab towards patients aren’t reflective of treatment you delve out to hard working people trying to make ends meet as Deborah isn’t the only one. I’d truly hate to be a patient here. I’d just straight up turn my body off. Learn common decency and attempt to have the least bit of respect. ******BEWARE****** If I could get away with giving them a zero, I would. MOST DISGUSTING PLACE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. This is not where you send someone for rehab. This is where you send someone to die. Bugs in the room. Equipment and beds all from the 1970s. Nurses who expected my son who had a severe TBI to ring for help. He is unable to do that so they placed the buzzer in his hand as if what i just said meant nothing. No AC in his room. The fan they had us use was white with black fan blades from never being cleaned. Nurses sitting in their car smoking while all the buzzers are going off. He stayed one night and he was moved to Haven. If you take your loved one here it will be the biggest mistake you have ever made.Tammy kitzman
