A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

I went to Nyack College in the city for one year and switched to a CUNY school after as I felt the quality of education did not match the HIGH costs. I remember when I was first applying to the school, I was so nervous about taking out such high loan amounts to pay for one year. I kept communicating this to the admissions person, but he kept telling me that no one could take away my education and convinced me to take the loans. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? This student and her entire family caught COVID and this pathetic excuse of a doctor/professor compared her sickness to her grandfathers surgery. I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. If I could give this institution zero stars I would be. Don’t waste your time with GCC, they will waste your time and money without any doubt in my mind. Don’t fall for the “it’s a beautiful campus” thing, because for example the nursing program is going downhill according to some alumni I’ve spoken to, who are now clinical instructors. I would never even refer to this place as a school let alone a college. Being a transfer student, I have experience with other more legitimate schools and universities. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. A diverse student base, some of whom had immigrated to America shortly before enrolling, also makes tailoring a viable solution difficult. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. I am an alumni from this school and my two years spent were memorable and enjoyable. I am originally from NYC so going upstate for school was a drastic change in environment and people. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made me feel comfortable in the change of environment. My advisor helped me choose my classes and helped me through personal and educational challenges I faced which helped me alot. The food does need some change but it was not the worst thing. I enjoyed dorm life at SUNY Delhi but recommend they install air conditioners as it tends to be warm in summer and spring time. I mostly enjoyed the classes, my professors were very knowledgable in their fields and were very helpful in making sure I understood every topic. The resources on campus are worth going to because they do help. I made many friends and connections through joining clubs and going to events. I was even President and co-founder of a two different clubs. Definitely recommend this school if you are looking to get a good education and experience dorm life away from the city. My daughter just finished her first semester. Overall, I would not recommend this school. While the campus is beautiful, the accommodations are extremely unsanitary. The drug culture is highly prevalent and it doesn't appear as if it's being monitored. The sororities still practice hazing for membership. After they use and abuse their pledges, they accept little to no new members. Unfortunately, my daughter had a professor who was clearly unapologetically rascist. I've never, in all my schooling, had a professor grade every paper with a personal insult attached. I highly regret enrolling my daughter in this school. From what I've witnessed, the majority of the academics (with exception of that professor) are decent. At best I would suggest if your not in the veterinary program or in the private pay dorm (Catskill) it's best to live off campus.joangelica 80

I went on a tour today for this school and from everything that I heard they have everything I needed in a school. They allow freshman’s to have cars on campus for a $168 fee (that covers the whole year). They allow you to stay on campus all four years of college and have specific dorms for upperclassman like juniors and seniors. The school and view is beautiful. The school it’s self seems to have a great support system. Everyone seemed friendly and welcoming. The food tasted good from my experience. I recommend this school for anyone in New York looking to go away from home but still be in their home state. I enjoyed my tour here and hope to enjoy my four years here.Bryanna Jordan

WORST.SCHOOL.EVER!! I hope they close down for good VERY SOON! There's no motivation or inspiration at all in this school whatsoever. The counselors and teachers are horrendous!! For every 5 teachers there, only 1 teacher is decent! They hold back their students far too long from achieving their true potential and don't even get me started on the atrocious time consuming and full of adversity enrollment process!! If you're still stuck taking a remedial/non credit class; instead of being able to register online LIKE IT SHOULD BE FOR EVERY STUDENT, you're instead forced to go all the way to Valhalla to register for classes EVERY semester until you've passed ALL their pointless non credited classes! Very excruciating and appalling for any student! Their counselors are always putting down students, not one can potentially uplift you when it comes to succeeding in school. Miserable place. Professors don’t care. They have people who don’t speak English teaching the math department. Those in the financial building are miserable, uninformative and rude. Nobody communicates!! Financial Tells you one thing and the counselors say something different. Totally unorganized and made my college experience a miserable one. They prioritize minorities and even questioned me on why I’m not on financial aid. Teachers WILL fail you if you don’t agree with their POLITICAL views. Community college is supposed to be affordable, but they manage to shake you down for every little penny. I was pretty skeptical about going back to school during this plandemic and now that I’m back in school, I wish I would’ve saved my money. The website says lab classes will be conducted online but it’s actually remote. If you want to pay full tuition for a partial education, then this is the place for you. The people who work in the administrative building specifically the Bursar’s office don’t care. The administrative building is physically closed so the only way to communicate is via email. Terrible when it comes to visitors and what information they tell you. My sister is currently in this place and apparently I can’t visit her. When my mom called them, they told us “only two set visitors can show up to visit the patient.” Nowhere on the pamphlet did it say that. The pamphlet says “immediate family members are welcome to visit during the day” and “other family and friends may visit Monday-Friday”. Also, they said it’s a rule due to covid. Everybody in our family is vaccinated including my sister (the patient) + we haven’t been near anybody with covid at all. Thanks to the hospital to telling us about this policy, my brother and father have wasted just about 3 and a half hours of their day going to visit, told they can’t, and driving back. Also, what happened to the no electronics thing? Everybody was told she was not allowed near electronics, but all of a sudden, she’s allowed to have a zoom meeting via iPad? Spent 6 hours at this hospital. They don't seem to do anything but COVID. I told them multiple times I didn't have COVID but they wouldn't be convinced so they sent me home with no diagnosis, convinced they were right. Got my negative test result from them this morning but that doesn't help my 101 fever. People need to trust that a hospital will actually do their job instead of just assuming they know. The best college ever! The best opportunity in your life! Berkeley College is a small college but very professional one. You can find everything you want there, an excellent stuff who works hard and is always waiting for you, a sophisticated technology, using up different sources to make you succeed, a big stuff helping out students to finds jobs and internships, They will do everything to motivate you and prepare you for your future success. That's the way I see this college. It may be a little bit expansive but when it's about our future we have to invest first. Everything in this college is great. My English level was not so good, and I still find it difficulty sometimes, but it was not a obstetrical for me at all, because all the professors helped me. And I am definitely glad for all the professors that I had, for 19 of them (5 quarters until now), they are all gorgeous. They never stop telling their student to use them as much as possible. They are respectful, patient, helpful, easy to understand, and they will try everything and every method for the student to succeed, after that is up to the students. If you do what the professors tell you to do you'll be fine, and that's what I and all my friends do. And we enjoy time in the class, we work in group, we discuss and bring new topics in class related with the lectures. And what is the beauty of Berkeley College is the diversity that it has. I agree with a review here that in short terms tells that Berkeley College is a easy college to enter in because it accept everyone. That's true! But that's what make this college a successful college, because it gives everyone an opportunity. Just because you didn't do well doesn't mean that your life should end there, no college any more no career, nothing. No! That's why Berkeley College has hired good professors, where mostly of them has a PhD degree. And if that is not enough Berkeley College offers Academic Support Center tutoring to make our life easier. Another great thing that I like at Berkeley College is that the stuff and the professors will define you by your name, not by your ID number, which makes me feel very good and think that people who work here care for me. And I am never lost in the class, like in the big colleges. If I would need help I will go there and ask and these people will always always be ready to help me out.Manjola Cela

Men lie, women lie, numbers don't; Berkeley College is one of the worst college in America. According to National Center for Education Statistics, the retention rate is 64 percent and the graduation rate is 30 percent. When people see these type of statistics, many people like to blame the students however in Berkeley College’s case, it’s not the students fault, it’s the school’s fault. One of the problems with Berkeley College is the financial aid. When you first come to Berkeley College, they promise you that you will graduate in 3 years however when you have to deal with the Financial aid it’s nearly impossible. Berkeley College operates on a Quarter System. And because Berkeley College operates on a Quarter system, the government can’t fund every quarter like Summer Quarter. This is a problem because students are force to pay large amount of money out of pocket. And if you can’t afford it, you have no choose but to drop the quarter and this will push back you graduation date. Berkeley College is so expensive and such a waste of money. If you’re coming from high school or another college, don't waste your money and your time. This school is not worth the tuition money you have to pay every year. You pay 30,000 plus (about $7,800 each Quarter) in tuition and with the new book policy, you will be forced to pay $300 out-of-pocket for books you will never use each Quarter. Word of advice, if you are looking for a college look somewhere else. If not be prepared to work at McDonald with a Bachelor or Associate degree.Andrew Owens

I had the worse college applying experience. This is for the Paramus NJ Campus. I was a prospective student. Unfortunately, I’m on temporary disability for now so I figured “why not go back to school to pursue my dreams?!”. Well, Berkeley admissions gave me a HORRIBLE experience. They stopped following up with me unlike other universities I applied to. No one knew what was going on in my admissions process. I gave this college money that THEY knew I didn’t have because of my disability because I wanted to attend. All of that for these fools to tell me they’re only accepting a portion of the credits I took for my associates degree. I am going to attend a prestigious university that knows what they’re doing and how to handle their prospective students. Putting effort into this college was WORTHLESS!!! Now a month later after my horrible experience the director of admissions Janine contacts me to stand up for her poor excuse of a staffs behavior. She called to say “sorry”. What kind of BS is that?! I don’t need a sorry, I need not to receive a phone call from your sorry college ever again!!Tara Ruiz

THIS IS THE WORST SCHOOL IN HISTORY OF SCHOOLS!!! PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would. This has absolutely been the worst experience I have ever encountered for school. When you need help and try to reach out for assistance no one replies back to your phone calls nor emails. But some how, some way they know how to get in touch with you to get a payment every month! Forget about admission. They sit you down and tell you all these good things about the school and how long the program is for but forget to mention once your course is completed you still have to take an additional 5 week course to take your exit then your allowed to sit for your NCLEX! Oh and another thing. If you think for a second they'll let you see you grade for the exam forget about it. Once you take an exam it literally takes about 2 weeks of waiting to get your score, and if you wait on MS. Provost for your grade it will take at least 4 weeks and don't think about calling or emailing her. She's allergic to responding back to people. When asked if you can see what you got wrong she will say "wE aReNt aLlOwEd tO sHoW yOu yOuR eXam, yOuR tEsT iS pRiVaTe" like huh?? IT'S MINES! So what they do is give you the top 5 question majority of the class got wrong and that's it. The reason why I passed was because I got a tutor and paid a lot of money for it. This school constantly changes it's rule to better themselves and get more money. I really wished I attended another school because the way they do things here is ridiculous!!!! The only class where I enjoyed learning and the teachers were amazing and really cared about us understanding the course was Mr. Ramdat (mental health) and Ms. Molina (ob/peds). They should teach at universities not this place.Moriah Long

I had the opportunity to attend the school for my LPN and RN. The LPN program I will give them a 3/5. The RN program a 2/5. The school is not consistent in anything. They give out term schedules the day prior and then the day the term starts it’s been changed but no one has up dated the online schedule or informed students. Forget ever getting in contact with anyone at this school unless you owe them money, then all of a sudden the phone email etc work. 1/2 the teachers have DISGUSTING, UNPROFESSIONAL attitudes. Don’t even bother trying to follow your syllabus because “that’s just up there I don’t follow that I do my own thing”, as stated by an RN teacher. Or famous quote they love “WHEN YOU ARE A REAL NURSE……” in regards to the LPNs which is wow because most of us attended JC for the LPN so maybe we need our money back since we aren’t “REAL NURSEs”.. your classes will be from 7a-330/4p Mon-Fri.. they like to make a lot of comments about “you can’t pass my class if you are working”.. Every school has its good and bad but be aware of what you sign up for. The cost of this school is very high and you will have to pay for parking each term(it’s first come first serve and about 80+\- spots) or risk getting hit by a car walking if you live in NY add tolls and gas and when you have clinicals you may need to pay for parking. If you come here honestly I would only recommend there LPN program, it’s tolerable. But the RN if you choose to attend try to transfer in as many classes as you can and save up a lot of money prior to starting. Also practice holding your breath because a lot of these instructors are “Vile”N R

I can honestly say that I am super happy I chose Jersey College. They have a team of amazing instructors, that come in prepared to give you everything, all the resources you need to be successful in the program. I am honored to soon be a graduate. It took a lot of hard work, and studying but I could not have done it without the help of my theory and clinical instructors who came In to every class giving their best which made it that much easier for me to give mine. If I had to choose again I would pick Jersey College everytime.Georrina Lampley

This is a good college especially for the price. I got a degree here and also worked on campus. It's hit or miss with professors, but I would recommend checking rate my professor and ultimately you mostly get out of the classes what you put in. I would recommend it, though it is a different environment than a 4 year institution. There are less social groups and no dorms, but some people prefer that. It's not perfect, but I think all of their equivalent classes are pretty much the same difficulty and information as 4 year institutions.Jamie Giambalvo

The virtual learning that this institution provides is one of the most frustrating times I've ever had on a computer, and I am used to working with computers. I paid over $3,000 for what is basically internet hogwash. I have had easier times navigating through a corn maze than Blackboard. I haven't even mentioned the utter disaster and scam they call financial aid, of which they make near impossible to acquire. This is not an institute for education, but a major scam to steal your money while tricking you into consenting with it.Connor

Was told i could drop my current classes and register for new classes with no penalties. Exactly right after that, they tell me registration is closed and that only late start registration was available. Being misinformed leave me unable to get my credits, transcript, and lastly a $2000 bill for classes i didnt take. For anyone attending suffolk, DO NOT choose Ammerman campus for anything. They misinform you and also dont inform you on the basics. Grant campus was much better. No problems with them.Eric Larsson

Got my Master in Public Administration from Wagner Graduate School of Public Affairs in 1985. Not an ounce of financial aid – It was my one-hundred percent self-paid onus. Even with full-time work for the duration of full-time study, it was easier than where my Bachelor of Arts was from: Binghamton. Long story short, the Public and nonprofits sector didn't want me; but, made some successes in the Corporate world in Banking, Insurance, followed by Investment Brokerage. My point ? Be adaptable for all your endeavors, and a Master's degree allowed me to enter, and to succeed in, fields for which I had no experience ! Life is what you make it, folks.Lawrence Weinzimer

I love this school.. The staff is super friendly, all the teachers know who you are and want you to succeed… I graduated the LPN program and I loved all the nursing teachers. They are always there if you have a question and they want you to succeed. The director dr. Millenbach was there for me every time I came into her office with a problem, she immediately stop what she was doing to talk to me and help me however she could. I passed by boards the first just like almost everyone in my class.. They prepared us very well for the boards.. I am also employed less than 2 months after graduation. If your looking for a nursing school with the small town feel Maria is your choice. One door closes another one alway opens, Maria is your open door!Brandi Luallen
