She was at the point where it told her she had to pay the $30 application fee to continue. So she did but never did anything after that. Then she decided she wants to go to a different School instead. I've been calling the admission office shortly after that. I've left messages on what this is regarding n NO calls back until Nov 25th from April in admission. I still have the VM. I've called back n again left a message. To this day (March 25), I still haven't heard back n I've been calling!! I finally called the school itself not admission n the lady said. I'm sorry since she started the admission you don't get your money back!! What a waist of my time n I don't feel this is right. If a child NEVER finished the application!!! The teachers for the most part are great. Student center and student billing either need to communicate better between them and the student or need new people in there over all. I’ve had issues since summer of 2018 with bad communication from them. I had 3 different advisors in less than a 2 semester span. Got scheduled into a class where the clinicals conflicted with the other classes I had. Got denied dropping that class but was not emailed or called about the denial. Found out about it when I was scheduling fall classes. Finally got it approved after the fact of all that mess and it messing with my financial aid. Oh but on top of it all, I would call student billing get no response back for so long (continued to rack up late fees due to no response back) I sent them 2 emails but not response back for days. They never actually looked into my account until I drove 35-40 minutes to find out why they said I can’t make online payments (even though I literally made one the month before) and comes to find out another mistake was made on with my account and I can make online payments. That’s not all, I had a $100 late fee put onto my account before it was even past due (and it wasn’t past due considering I made a payment). The communication is not good. I graduated here with my associate's degree in Leadership. 60 of my credits transferred from NWTC to Concordia University of Wisconsin. I preferred the video conference classes. My son is currently attending the school. I was a student there back in the early 80's. The campus is very nice. Helpful faculty, variety of courses and majors. Excellent place to take a test! I took a certification exam through Pearson Vue at NWTC. The test center employees explained everything thoroughly and the center itself was quiet enough to take my exam. I visited Northcentral Technical college for my son who is a senior in Elkhorn high school who made it to the semi-finals for WI Esports for the game Smite and they hosted the competition for the semi-finals and finals for numerous games from high schools all over WI and I had a great time and the campus was awesome and really nice, the set up was awesome and everyone was so welcoming, I'd go back anytime!!!Elizabeth Orwig

I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

I have had an amazing experience with Herzing University! I am excelling in my degree choice and I couldn't be more satisfied with my learning experience and the flexibility that the online program gives me.The instructors are all willing to help whenever I have a question, and if they see many students struggling with something, they will post an announcement with some helpful tips on how to proceed through our courses. The learning material is easy to understand, the discussion boards really help me connect with my classmates more than I normally would, the library is full of everything you might need for your studies, and the Coach rooms and Tutoring center are very helpful! I have seen many posts off and on about how students struggled in this school. I have to say the most common thing I see students struggling from in these courses is not doing the assigned work on time, not participating in the discussions, and not following the assigned directions on assignments. We have to take responsibility and do our work (on time!) or we will not succeed, and we should not blame someone else for our lack of trying. Just with everything else in life, if you do not put any effort into something, you will not gain anything from it. At that time, school was still establishing itself, therefore, I had some rough time getting through the program, but overall my experience was good. My wife WAS TRULY UNSATISFIED HERE!! Listen, if you have a family to support, this is NOT the college for you. They changed things so many times DURING the program that added fees to your bill without you knowing until you got ready to register. POORLY UNORGANIZED!! The only great thing my wife talked about was her Pathophysiology teacher Julie L. She actually wanted students to pass and made every effort to help them!! My wife TAUGHT HERSELF IN HEALTH ASSESSMENT!! This is crazy!! The teacher acted like she didn’t know how to teach the class or the lab! They had to eventually adjust grades because students started dropping like flies! If you decide to go here ask about the hidden fees which they don’t tell you about until the first week of classes! Stay way, trust me, I watched my wife fall asleep trying to study off a study guide for health assessment which DID NOT HELP HER!! The study guide should have said just study everything! Affordable for gen eds but for a technical college they have some of the worse tech issues I have every seen my I have seen middle schools with better technical support. Do not take there advice on what laptop to buy since I was told to buy a Microsoft brand laptop but I needed to add every chrome extension needed to even access half the course material. Let's just say I'm no spring chicken. I got my Industrial electrical apprenticeship at the age of 46 and at the age of 50 I graduated. It was not an easy thing for me. But the program was excellent and they gave me alot of skills I use everyday at my job. Some days I think I should have tried fitting the instrumentation specialist into my schedule some how but with work hours it wouldn't have work. I am in my sixth week taking online courses at MATC. I have chosen the IT Support Associate Degree program, for two reasons: One the program is only two years, I’ll be able to launch into the job market faster, and because IT is such a diverse, and fast growing career path, I know I will find a fit into the IT world upon graduation. I chose MATC because MATC is convenient and conventional. I can take classes online, at my own pace, and be on campus for the classes I need more focus and dedication to. This IT program combined with my 10 plus years customer service experience, I know I will be able to reach any career goal I set. Now, while my interest in computers and knack for problem solving I know this career path will be suitable for me, however, to any prospective student looking for a quick money type of career, this program is not for you. This program consists of lots of physical and mental work, also taking consideration of the customers you are serving. If a prospective student welcomes challenges and is comfortable with asking questions and not feeling intimidated by the mass amount of information you will retain then this is a program for you. Prospective students should also be aware that they don’t have to work or figure stuff out alone, one of my favorite accommodations is having access to tutoring, whether online or in person- at all campuses. Fellow future students should also know that acquiring their degree at MATC is a smart money move, students can save thousands of dollars getting their education here, as opposed to a four year college/university. Information Technology is very informative program. This program breaks down a lot of things that can happen with computer systems. It is a to-date program. I choose this program because I want to go more in depth with technology. Everyone uses technology every day. I would like to be able to assist those who are not tech savvy. MATC I.T support program has a great path program. Pathway allows you get a few certificates take a break and come back for your diploma. Completing this program will give the knowledge and skill I need to become an I.T professional. Instructors are very helpful. Staff is friendly. My experience in MATC IT Computer Support Specialist program is limited but good so far. I chose to pursue this degree because it lines up well with my current work experience and career goals. So far, I have been able to take all my classes online with no scheduled class times, so I can complete assignments at my own pace without interfering with my work schedule. I decided to transfer. Minimal funding for the humanities, so if your want to major in English, philosophy, history, etc maybe consider transferring for the sake of your education. I'm not exaggerating either- some of the adjuncts who work here have even told me to do this. The student body and some of the staff are incredibly arrogant, rude, and competitive. You will be stereotyped based off of where you come from- especially if you are from Illinois. I found that the people here don't try and get to know you for who you really are, even considering the fact that both you and them ended up at the same university. When I told my advisor I was planning on transferring, he scoffed and told me "Transfer wherever the h*** you want, my commission won't be affected" and then proceeded to tell me he had no clue how the transfer process worked, scoffed at me again, and told me "good luck". The dorm food is low quality, and to eat healthy you basically have to risk your life by crossing an on-ramp to the highway to get to Straz aka the dorm with the healthy food. There isn't much to do in the college town, and Milwaukee is a lot further away and more unsafe to get to than how the brochures portray it.Audrey Gordon

Marquette offers a great college experience and a fantastic education for well rounded young adults. Marquette is located in a fun city that is going through a healthy revival with a large community of people under 40 deciding to live in the city instead the the burbs. It's a Jesuit school, so the school and students are more conservative than public land-grant universities. We were impressed with the indications of community service, tolerance, and good works that we observed practically everywhere we looked. It was the only school we saw that had postings on their student boards for volunteer work and community service. Marquette also offers deep academic resources. I just graduated in May 2014, I could not be more grateful for the experience Marquette provided me over the last 4 years. It contains the great campus community of a large school while having the city of Milwaukee in walking distance for an endless amount of activities for weekends. The graduation and job rates are over 50% greater for MU grads compared to many of the local in-state schools, it's well worth the money. I transferred here from another college and honestly it was the best decision I could have made for myself. Herzing works with many different aspects of my life. Specifically, the Kenosha campus although a bit of a drive from home, I absolutely love this place. The front desk staff always says hello when I walk in the door, the nursing staff has been so helpful and always willing to meet and help work with me. And honestly, I’m blown away by the administration (the campus president, the Dean of Nursing, and the Dean of Education). They are honestly what makes this University what it is. They always are there for you, door open, willing to listen and to be a resource/guide for you, to help you to work through issues your having. They may not be able to fix everything, but they sure do everything they can to make your experience amazing and memorable. They have made such a positive impact during my time here. I would definitely consider coming back to be an educator after I become more established in my career as a Registered Nurse. I am just starting my third semester at Herzing and I can't say enough about the Administration, Professors and staff. EVERYONE is there to help you succeed. It's a small school and because of this it's very comforting to walk down the halls and have staff know your name. I am meeting people and can tell I am going to have lasting friendships. I decided to choose Herzing to learn Insurance Billing and Coding because they offered classes online, but here were also campuses close to my home. I wasn't sure if I could be successful in juggling my family, a stressful full time job and school. Herzing is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. My online advisor has been there to guide me through many questions. The online educators have been excellent as well. I also have to mention that there are Librarians, and Academic coaches all there to help achieve success! Someone is always there to help me! I have a degree in psychology from another university and decided to return to school for my BSN at Herzing Brookfield. The professors are amazing, supportive with every step and are really there for you any time you need them or ask for help. The tutoring is great and the rest of the staff is always there for the students for support, to problem solve, or help with anything as well. Schools in my past, it would take forever to see my adviser, meet with a professor or get an answer from financial aid. At Herzing Brookfield, all of the staff is great, I know my adviser (she was also my lab instructor), and financial aid is great at everything they do for the students here. The smaller class and lab sizes are great because we get much more focused attention from our professors and they really want to see us succeed. I have attended 2 colleges and 2 other universities in my past. I remember two advisers names out of all of those schools. Brookfield is very different because there is no way I would be able to forget my teachers, advisers or the rest of the staff. This has been the best experience I could have asked for.Irene Serrano

I have had the worse nursing experience in my life at this school. They do not teach to the exam so the only information you can rely on is all on your book. The teachers are helpful, but they have no control over what is being tested on the exams. For our first exam the class average was a 60% and this was the highest average between all schools. All of the students have voiced there opinions and we have been ignored. There is nothing possible about Herzing and you will end up failing or teaching yourself how to become a nurse. My experience at Herzing has been amazing. I started my journey in 2018 with my Medical Assisting Diploma. The staff is amazing. I graduated in September of 2019 and decided why not go right back (May 2020) and begin my BSN journey. The flexibility in classes, the resources for students and the overall experience so far both times being a student has been amazing. Then becoming an Alumni and getting the help I needed to fine tune my resume and get a job as a Medical Assistant was amazing. Of all the reviews I read stating do NOT go here for ADN, I have to advise the same for BSN. Run away! The program is so disorganized and only a small amount of the professors know what is going in. You have to teach yourself almost everything (which for the amount you’re paying in tuition I find downright terrible), which is where I will talk about the ATI testing they do. I went 3 semesters in this program without any type of exposure to this ATI testing to during my 4th semester having 3 ATI final exams that were worth 9% of the grade. One of my classes had around 30 people and only 5 of those 30 people passed the ATI exam. The rest of us lost out on 9% of our grade because we failed the ATI test. That 9% is the difference between passing and failing miserably. A letter grade or two if I must. Don’t dare try to fight the ATI bologna they have set up, because you will be ignored, or you will be told you did not study enough. I emailed the dean of nursing about this ATI testing and so did a few of my colleagues. We were all ignored. I requested to meet with the dean face to face to talk about this, and again I was ignored. The school and their staff will NOT own up to their mistakes, instead it’s always the students fault. One of the three ATI finals I had to take was a major issue due to the fact that we did not get the textbooks for this exam until halfway through the semester, which gave us no time to study DOUBLE the material for this exam. I gave my professor of that class a lot of respect because they really fought for these books. The school couldn’t seem to care less because we were constantly given the run around, yet the other two lecture sections of this course had their books!! We were set up to fail. This school is awful. They rob you and their “life prep” slogan is a scam. You do not get prepared for anything. If you are considering Bryant & Stratton for nursing, run away. Go somewhere else. Just Incase you, the reader are not convinced that this school is all about the money, here is some proof: I left the nursing program after the semester ended on December 18. I got a letter on December 26 stating that I have to pay my student loans back!!! (As if I didn’t already know….I signed the MPN, I know I have to give back what I borrowed). Three days later on December 29, I finally got a letter stating that they noticed I was not coming back. BSC only cares about money, so do not go here. Go somewhere that is credible and well established.Stacy

Don’t believe all the fake reviews on here or the multitude of 5 stars with no written reviews. They’ve clearly been written by employees and probably paid people to write them. This is one of the shadiest “colleges” I’ve ever been to. I was in the nursing program and our class had 68 students. Only 6 people graduated. Everyone else flunked out of the program and it wasn’t because they were dumb or stupid. The curriculum is set up for you to fail. Only a college that cares about money would schedule half of its students to take a med/surg clinical and pharmacology on the exact same day, 20 minutes apart. That’s not even the worst part! The first 5 exams for both classes were scheduled the exact same days. Anyone that’s taken either class knows that these are difficult classes and the exams were extremely long. Half of my graduating class failed one or both courses that semester, including me. None of us won our appeals and instead were “allowed” to enter the medical assistant program for $30,000. You know how long it would take you to pay off that loan on a medical assistant salary?!?! When I appealed, I was never asked to write a letter or met with the dean. I requested an appeal and was immediately denied. The seam didn’t even have time to look up my file to see that I had a 3.8 GPA going into that semester and clearly there was something wrong. The vast majority of instructors were highly unqualified. A couple of my “professors” didn’t have degrees and I knew them from when I waited tables a couple of years before. One professor almost killed a patient by forcing a student to inject the wrong medication. That same instructor went off on me at a hospital because I was spending too much time with my patients. Don’t waste your time or your hard earned money because realistically, most of the people that enter the RN program won’t graduate. For the price, you’re better off going to Cardinal Stritch, MSOE or Marquette. They prey on the financially disadvantaged, promising a degree and amazing salaries, which is a lie. If you shoppped around, you would find that this is one of the most expensive colleges in the area. If you don’t believe me, read all of the negative reviews and you’ll find that there’s truth in what I’m writing.Valor Aquaponics

Do NOT go here for the ADN program! Some instructors don't know how to teach. They can't answer your questions or they read directly from the textbook for lecture. Now I know you really have to study and read your materials to become a nurse, but lectures are supposed to help students. Some instructors seem to have forgotten that. It is a fast paced program. I liked that it was under two years, but you really have to commit. I ended up having to cut back my hours at work to make time for studying and homework. The school makes you do an authentic assignment in each course. It is supposed to help you advance your studies. HAH! 99% of the assignments were a complete waste of time. The program also loves busy work. Pointless homework that doesn't help the students out. The Dean of Nursing accused the graduating class of cheating in front of guest speakers three days before the end of the semester. They do not care about your work schedule. You do not have a choice for where your clinical is. They will say they try to place you at a clinical site near your home. I ended up over one hour away from my site two semesters in a row. Class until 2100 and 0630 clinical an hour away the next morning. Fun, hey? They do not own up to their mistakes or miscommunication. The student is always wrong in their eyes.Laura Hintze

I have had a wonderful time at Rasmussen. There have been many times where I have felt that things are unorganized and chaotic, but regardless, the advisors ensure that you understand what is going on and provide with all the information that they can at any given time. I would have chosen a UW school for better organization, but Rasmussen has allowed me to obtain the same degree in less time. The one main criticism that I have is that many online professors are not very accountable for their actions and contracts that they sign regarding timeliness of responses and grading. However, the BSN program currently has very small class sizes, which has been extremely beneficial for my learning as I feel comfortable asking what I need to ask. My experience during my Associate degree was very up and down and a lot of changes happened in Blackboard, which altered my star rating and negative perception of Rasmussen (now I am finishing my bachelor degree and my perception has chnahed based on experience). This being brought to the review section, once you get the handle of things that have changed it is not too bad. There is still a lot of options academic wise versus a "traditional" state University. I do enjoy fast pace, so the 5.5 week courses are more ideal versus the "traditional" 11 week courses I struggled with at a previous state University. I have recently tried going to midstate on advice about my career and academics with the intent of taking classes there but I have only been disappointed. The employees there seem to not care about you or their job. One of which was a counselor who seemed to not listen and not say much of anything other than ok and uh huh. Stephanie Bender was by far the worst counselor I have ever talked to. If the counselors are that bad I can only imagine how the teachers must be. I was contemplating finishing my program here or at least taking a few classes but now I feel like I don't want to support this college.dvdisconnected

I have never in my life seen such a lazy staff. Mainly aside from doing everything over a computer and turning in homework ONLINE. I struggled with this part massively because im not sorry im used to handing in a paper hard copy directly to someone face to face! The pathways program is a joke beyond human understanding. But for a teacher to sit there and tell me my failures are costing tax payer money?(mrs.Barret) When i need the help for classes that have zero to do with the accuplacer text results?! I love being a student at MSTC at the Marshfield campus. There are only a few students left in my program (CRC) but they never forget about me and they treat me as an equal. My accomplishments make them happy and when I have an issue they do what they can to resolve it or find a solution that fits. I love the online option for classes but I still feel like I'm going to a real school. The instructors online are very personable and make you feel like you stand out! I have three semesters left and I will really miss being a student at MSTC!Megan Tichenor

Anyone looking to have a loved one placed into hospice should visit with Eastcastle Place, 1st or last, and make their own assessment. The 4th floor (Hospice) where my mother was located was clean, quiet and didn't smell like most nursing homes. The staff is attentive and compassionate everyday, not just those days I visited my mother. A truly inspirational group. And when there were issues, the team corrected the the problem quickly. I was very pleased. The room was more than adequate for my mother's needs. The food was good and treats were provided routinely, even cut flowers. Placing a loved one into a nursing home isn't easy; however, Eastcastle affords you that piece of mind that your loved one is getting the best care possible in their last days / months of their life. My mother and I considered ourselves blessed with being at Eastcastle, especially after visiting and knowing family living in other nursing homes in the area. Good luck! God bless.John Matitz

I think that this place is pretty great… I have spent a lot of time here over the past year in both memory care as well as with the Independent and assisted living portions of the campus as a student artist in residence as somewhat of a community member/ but also borderline staff member?. has been a fun and enriching experience. The community really values the arts – they are involved in the program that I came in through where they house and/or work closely with a student artist to enrich community life. There is a writers group, knitting group, creativity center, etc. Residents all have good stories to tell and seem to really enjoy life. There is strong resident leadership and involvement in all parts of the community. they expect to be fully renovated in the next year or so and things are probably going to get even more awesome.Ellee Spalding

Eastcastle Place took excellent care of my mother during her rehab. All the staff from reception, to nurse, to caretaker, to food delivery everyone (and I mean everyone) took such care in everything they did with my mom. I didn't ever have an issue with communication, anytime I needed someone they responded quickly. My mom was never happier (other than having to be there lol) anything she requested she received. She even made good friends with some of the staff. I would highly recommend the facility to anyone who needs rehab. Thanks Again!Sue Wildes

I chose this degree, because I like the idea of being able to stay with technology as it grows. Seems that if you are not tech ready, you may not survive in the net generation to come. Kids use all type of technical devices, so I want to make sure I can keep up with them and the world. I selected the program because MATC provides an array of options and it is affordable. Credits are transferrable and saves a few dollars for the pocket. There are many surrounding business that hire students from MATC and are just as competitive as any other student and schools. I am taking an online course and the classes are offered throughout the day and not just a certain time of the day, going online provides flexibility for someone like myself who works and has a busy active family. If you are looking for a school that allows you to be study on your own time and continue your every day activities, MATC offers a great program and study options. I really like that the curriculum and professors take the time to teach students, even providing hands on you tube videos and videos. Every step is walked through and it is available to re-watch if we struggle.Chee Lee

Customer service in several departments needs to be improved! When trying to register for classes two separate times the computers did not work. Each time I was there (at least 3 separate occasions) each department didn’t know when the department next to them was open. “Oh, just walk over there and check.” How can they not know when the bookstore is open or the registrar or the other service areas? Also the bookstore has zero customer service. They will not help you find what you need for class unless you have a printout. Are they not on the same computer system? Why can’t they look up your schedule? Another thing is when registering for class in July you cannot get parking passes, ids, books, etc for the fall session because they don’t have them available! “Come back a week or two before classes start.” What? These are the people that are in charge of teaching others? By streamlining and organizing the MATC Mequon campus it would save tax payers money and future students time!!Jena Schneider

The reason that I chose MATC IT Computer Support, was to gain a better understanding of the IT world. What I like about information technology is that it is not stagnant. It is constantly evolving and getting better, faster and innovative. For me, this is more for personal growth than career motivated. However, you never know where something like this can lead you. I really enjoy the instructors and the way that the classes are taught. Being an online student, sometimes life can get in the way, but so far, the instructors have been very accommodating with any work or family challenges that occur. Regardless of your comfort or experience level in information technology, I strongly believe that MATC would be a great starting point for anyone, as long as you come prepared to put forth an honest effort.Lamont Robinson
