I only went there one semester beginning 11th grade and the curriculum was already harder than most of my college classes. They don't like transfers coming in late like me because transfers typically get left in the dust because the kids there are way ahead of public school kids. I held my own; however, the school had an abnormal amount of meathead bullies. My best friend there had his lung punctured when a jock impaled him with a javelin in a close quarter attack. All the other jocks stood around laughing. PE should be optional. That's where the bullies use exercise as an excuse to terrorize in my opinion. I did like the school though. Worst school ever. I attended form 1st grade to 10th grade and HATED it. I was not taken into consideration whatsoever. The faculty literally are watching you just to catch you slip up once and get you in trouble for it. Unless you are straight A+++ and a perfect child, you will have a terrible time here. I would highly recommend Compass Career College. I went for the Medical Assistant program which included Phlebotomy, and Certified Nursing Assistant classes. I graduated with a 90% average. I was very prepared for the MA, phlebotomy, CNA exam, which I passed all 3 with flying colors. The instructors were EXCELLENT! They prepared me for the exams, job interviews, and working in the medical field. They are very strict but its only because they care! Mrs. Sue has been a nurse for 25+ years and let me tell you she knows so much about the medical field and has so much experience, which makes her teaching style excellent! If she sees you struggling or maybe falling behind she will go out of her way to help you! I had really low confidence in myself, but Mrs. Sue had very high confidence in me, which by the time I graduated I had such great confidence in myself that it helped me land a job interview the day after I graduated. I was so prepared for my job, I just couldn't believe it! Now lets get to Mrs. Shawn, this woman is very smart and has been an educator at compass for about 10 years, but im sure shes had even more experience in the medical field. Mrs. Shawn is the best phlebotomist I have ever met and she knows exactly how to teach it too. She also helped me build my confidence, she seen such great potential in me and she pushed me hard enough until I actually believed in myself. Also with Mrs. Shawn, the same with Mrs. Sue, and also Mrs. Jeaneen if they see you falling behind they will definitely help you because they all 3 care and don't want anyone to fall behind! I didn't have Mrs. Jeaneen in too many classes but I did have her through our CNA clinicals, she was great, she pushed us because we were in the nursing home and she wanted us to make her proud and if we needed her she was there in a moment! I felt that I got the best education at Compass Career College than I could have anywhere else. My money was well spent at this school! I done the Medical Assistant program at compass and it has completely changed my life for the better. When I first started school in January of 2016 I was excited. very excited. Then I hit a very low and rough time in my life and didn't think i was going to make it through the program and graduate. I was pregnant with my third child and at the time it was not something i was happy about. My attitude sucked, my grades sucked, and my attendance was horrible. Even through all this my teachers, Mrs. Sue and Mrs. Shawn pushed me because they believed in me and saw I had potential. After I had my baby i realized that i was just making excuses for my self and the teachers never let me forget it. They stood by me and pushed me to the point i completely changed everything about my life and started pushing myself. It wasn't easy but trust me if I can do It YOU can do it. The first time I drew a blood sample from someone I knew instantly that this is what I love. The teachers here weren't just my teachers they became very good friends also. They care about each and every single student and it is their mission to see the students succeed. Mrs. Sara Dugas gave me the ultimate surprise on my last day. I was given the first "Life Changing Direction Award" the school has ever given. I graduated college with amazing grades. I now have 4 different certifications. Horrible school. It's privately owned and the owner is there around the clock looking for a reason to have something complain about. It's no one that you can contact if in any manner you're disrespected or asked to leave. He owns the school and he's going to let it be known such as a child owning his first blanket. The rules are changed as much as they want to change them. The instructors have no voice at all. It's like a boot camp. I would not recommend this school to anyone. I felt as if I was targeted my last month out of 5 months attending. I was asked to leave do to not signing an agreement before getting a chance to read it before signing. After traveling miles to and from for months. It was a complete waste of time and money. Yeah everything sounds great considering that it's only a 5 month course, but when it's all said and done, you'll be wishing and regretting not going to a longer term school where you can be comfortable, relaxed, respected, enjoy attending, and have an idea on what to look forward to. It's too expensive not to be able to complete because of foolishness or one's misery. I would like to make it clear that I spoke with the Dean and the President of the students and got the students to sign a petition at fortis college and the President informed me that she has the power to change the way graduation is and she is not going too ! as a student I do not think its fair that we only have ONE commencement ceremony and students start a new term every six weeks i informed the president about the students reaction and suggested 2 ceremonies throughout the year so all students get a decent time to celebrate their accomplishments and she simply did not care also they use term "graduation'' in orientation but its really your "expected finish date" i think fortis has a lot to learn they say they are just like a real college but i think its just for the money bc why would you not want to celebrate your students accomplishments ??Jania Street

My MIL has lived at Heritage Manor for the past 2 months. I have been very pleased with the level of care provided. Staff appear to be very responsive to her needs, she is always clean and neat, and they appear to have a real affection for her. We were told this place would be the BEST for my paralyzed brother who's on a ventilator after his accident, he was there for less than a month before having to go to the hospital for a UTI and having his lung scraped by respiratory. We were told this was the place for him to be weaned off the vent and receive excellent physical therapy. Neither of those happened, he received no physical therapy there and there was no attempt at all to wean him. We complained of the respiratory lady suctioning BLOOD up several times and she continued to do it. He had pressure sores on his feet and the sores on his back from SAGE REHABILITATION HOSPITAL had gotten worse. He had gnats in his room every time I went to see him. When he was taken to the hospital they found cornbread from DAYS before all over him because he had to feed himself which he really can't do since he has paralysis in his hands. For maybe three weeks of them "caring" for him they took $12,000 from him. The hospital recommended we do not let him go back. Even professional care takers and medical staff do not recommend this place.Ashley Hull

I was at Capitol House for about two years I discharged on Good Friday to my apartment which was taken care of by their social worker. I appreciate the administrator and the transportation driver and social worker for helping me get back to Lafayette to spend whatever life god has left for me here with my grandchildren. None of this would of been possible without them going over and beyond. People have all kind of experiences with nursing homes but mine was a good one and I want to say thank you to them and the staff for helping me get back to my family and caring for me. I would highly recommend this facility if you are looking for somewhere to place your loved one for rehab or residential. Everyone here is wonderful from Mrs. Allison Jackson the social worker, the CNA's, nurses, therapy, activity director, and even the residents were a joy to be around. My mom went in as residential which you always hear horror stories about. I can assure you they haven't had my mom just sitting in bed one day. Worst college I have ever been to. If I could zero stars I would. Starting from the first day my instructor Brittney had a nasty attitude and her excuse was because she’s pregnant. I was told by the lady whom did my orientation whom is 1 of 4Davis who work there that if I didn’t feel ok talking with my instructor about something I should speak with the director of education. I had spoken with my instructor about grades and she brushed me off and had an attitude when I asked her about grading scales for a test I had taken. so I asked the DOE in a private conversation for help so I could have better understanding.The DOE told me she would go over the test me privately once I gotten it back because it was a problem that my instructor BRITTNEY did not want to let us see our test even after they had been graded. The DOE then went back and told my instructor about the private conversation as we had AFTER we already discussed she would help me so it was no need to inform the instructor. My instructor then took offense that I spoke with Ms.Davis and had an attitude with me she tried to attack me with her words and nasty attitude and because I wouldn’t bite on her negative energy and told her “you have a serious issue/problem “ instead she then went to the director and lied on me and said I was causing a disturbance in her class which I had never said anything to Brittney I was only responding to her because she spoke to me. The Director came in with animosity towards me already without even fully knowing everything that happened. Dr. Davis the director accused me of fussing with and yelling at Ms. Brittney. I was polite and let her finish scolding me before I informed her that her accusations were incorrect. There was also other students in the class that confirmed for her that I never disrespected or raised my voice at Ms.Brittney anytime I was in her class. Neither did Ms. Brittney try to correct Ms.Davis in her accusations, she sat there with a smile as if she was excited that I was being put out of school. Due to the fact I told Dr.Davis she was wrong for accusing me of things I didn’t due I was put out of school that I paid for , for nothing ! Now I am being told I have to pay additional money to finish my class I was put out of due to these individuals not being able to be professional and put their emotions to the side. They will not give me my $125 I paid for the program. So I’ve wasted my time and money for nothing . Pretty much they scammed me . They had no good reason to put me out or keep my money. The individuals that are involved has caused me emotional distress. When being put out of the facility I had an anxiety attack and no one even offered to ask if I was okay. The individuals that run this facility aren’t qualified to be teachers. They may be good healthcare workers but not teachers at all. They are un-organized and unprofessional but yet SCOLD us and put us out for being “unprofessional “ I’d be almost finished with school if only Ms.Davis had kept her word and kept our conversation confidential because it was a reason I went to her to avoid the negative energy from my instructor Ms.Brittney . For those who are not familiar with William Carey, this is a private Christian School of Nursing. They are based out of Mississippi but have a campus in Baton Rouge. In other schools in the area, the programs take two and a half years. The accelerated nursing program at William Carey can be finished in 18 months for a bachelor's degree, meaning I obtain a higher education level for less time. This is by far the best school I have ever attended. The small classes (30 or so students) make the learning environment one on one. You build relationships with the students and faculty. I went to this School in its rebuilding period and the teachers put everything into what they do. Your success is their success. I was initially going to attend Delgado Community College's program but now that I am in the work field I am glad I didn't. I have worked with several former Delgado students who are not very versatile do to the lack of variations in their clinical sites. I was in and out within 15minutes minutes for a injury to my leg. I was not given the necessary information about my injury, got an ace bandage and was simply told "use it or not". I had an open wound which wasn't cleaned. At the end of the visit after receiving a shot for pain I was given crutches and I was walked out dizzy and nearly falling all the way to the door. No one even offered to assist. I wasn't even given release instructions or any paperwork… I am in awe!!!!!!Ashley Rebelle

My experience with Camelot College has been great so far. I am very grateful for the opportunity to get an education for a rewarding career in the medical field. Pastor Williams and Mr. Simon have been amazing and made sure things ran smoothly. I love how they have everything set up with everyone in mind. The classes are affordable, flexible and small and give you that one on one vibe. They are faith base and family oriented and that is a big plus for me. They make sure you have everything you need to be successful in the online course. You get a laptop and eBook to complete all of the assignments and class participation. Mr. Simon even gave me the information about a grant that I received to help with tuition. I have had a few bumps in the road concerning my family and Pastor Williams and Mr. Simon have made sure to check on us and help me stay on top of my schooling. The encouragement for them for you to be successful is heartfelt and greatly appreciated. Our instructor Ms. Jackson is phenomenal. Today is a sad day for most students for our beloved ALRC math touter, Ryan, and English touter ,Justin, have been let go. I as a student feel this was a grave mistake. Decent school with good instructors who are often available out of class to help their students succeed and thrive.
