I studied Computer Information Systems: PC & Network Management and also took part in the Honors Program as well. The classes within my field always proved beneficial and relatable to what I do on the job and also paved the way for my certifications. The general education courses served their purpose and prevented me from having to take any other ones when I transferred. If you didn't get immediately accepted into a university out of high school or if you're a returning student, Chesapeake is a great starting location to start your studies anew.Aaron Wilt

I had the privilege of experiencing this wonderful college through my sons when they participated in Kids@Carroll/Teen College summer programs! In 2012 our friend, who’s a chemistry teacher, let us know he’d be holding a science/magic summer camp there. My sons began attending that year and didn’t stop until they aged out! CCC was always a highlight of their childhood summers and I am forever grateful. The enrichment and education they received time and time again at such well put together programs with high quality instructors was unmatchable! They enjoyed many of Ken Ecker’s art camps and they still keep in touch with him today! He even makes it a point to wish them each a Happy Birthday every year! He’s such a radically genuine person and an amazing artist! And he still teaches adult and youth programs when he comes down from NYC! He’s simply the best! I always loved how the art camps would culminate with a beautiful art show for parents and friends to attend! I have so many photos on my digital frame from those days and cherish the memories! My sons also enjoyed CCC electrical engineering, geography, Star Wars, and veterinary CSI camps (those involved great field trips to vet hospitals, The Humane Society, and a horse rescue; the students also learned how to suture bananas). 🙂 Thanks, CCC, for all you do to promote education, not just for adults but for youth as well.Sophia Christina Maroulis-Castro

A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. If you are looking for a university that constantly drops classes without notifying you and consistently mess up your financial aid and student loans, then this is the university for you. I have never dealt with such an unorganized and incompetent higher education facility. If I were not so close to reaching my end goal with my education I would transfer. If you are planning on taking courses at the HEAT Center in Aberdeen through Notre Dame, such as myself, don't bother because courses are rarely offered there and I have had 3 courses in the past 2 semesters that were to be held at the HEAT Center that have been cancelled and I was never notified by Notre Dame. Now they have notified Fed Loans that I graduated in August when I have not completed all my coursework. Talk about unorganized. I don't think I have encountered one person on the administrative staff that seems like they know what they are doing. I can say my professors have been good; however all of the negative encounters I have had with administration has overshadowed those positives.Kelly Borowiak

This review is of the Entry level BSN nursing program. To be fair, this institution actually has a very good nursing program. The culture of the environment however needs plenty of improvements. This nursing program lacks cultural diversity and sensitivity. The nursing program and it’s educators still caters to the program’s largely Caucasian student population. All of the full time professors that lecture are white with the exception of one Indo-Caribbean professor. This has created an environment of both intentional and unintentional biases, which has also created an open tolerance for racial and ethnic prejudices that should never be acceptable or tolerated in an educational environment. The nursing program would greatly benefit from including an office of Cultural diversity and inclusion to better accommodate and nurture its students from different racial and ethnic backgrounds.Beautiful Life of B

Notre Dame of Maryland was the last college I visited, but the first one that felt like home. I'm only a sophomore, but I know that I made the best decision because the faculty, staff, and student body make this place so great. My professors are always available and helpful, which is great in a pinch, and living on campus with my friends is the best thing I could have asked for. The programs create something for everyone (as seen in my own dorm!) with one roommate as Pre-Pharm in the 3/4 year program, the other currently applying for the Nursing Program, and I'm applying for the 5 year MAT program for education. I went to Delaware County Community College part time for four years after high school. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I really didn't know what I wanted to do right out of high school and I didn't want to go to a super expensive university and still not be sure. I started out with general studies. I just finished my Liberal Arts associate's degree there this past spring. I enjoyed my time at this school. I got to take a lot of different classes to really figure out what I like and what I dislike, and it's way more affordable to do that here. The campus is beautiful, especially the STEM center. There's lots of helpful services and the professors I had were great. I'm now transfering to another school to study graphic design and I feel like DCCC helped me get on the right track. I would highly recommend this school to everyone!Natalie Cellini

The cost isn't horrible and the classes are similar to classes offered by four year universities. The problems I have lie with the administration (financial aid, career center, cashier office.) They do not know how to deal with students in a timely, concise manner. I was unable to get in and complete a single course for the last two years due to administrative problems, even though I had been with them previously. Such a Beautiful campus and I had a very great experience at DCCC, I’ve had some pretty good professors during my time there although some did seem to only be there for a check. During my time here I was also in the KEYS program and they have such wonderful staff very helpful and friendly. As the mom of a college student who had to leave a private, out of state institution for medical reasons, I came into contact with BCCC when my son was ready to obtain further credits. The administration was so very helpful, from applying for appropriate courses, to registering and payment. My son has not yet graduated, but the experience at the local community college was excellent. BCCC also has programs in which high school students with special skills or talents can participate in college level work. Both the high school and BCCC were extremely helpful in this regard. High school credits were obtained with no tuition payment. Finally, I am a sunset photographer. The high hill on the campus overlooking the baseball field just off Swamp Road is a very nice vista for sunset shots!!Carol Geibe

First off the price is great. The campus is really nice. I liked the professor's a ton. There were some really good teachers. When I transferred out most of my credits went to Penn state without an issue. I see a few reviews on here talking about bad teachers. This is not a BCCC problem, it's a college problem. I had just as many bad teachers if not worse teachers at Penn State as I did at BCCC. Expect it, accept it, and work harder in those classes. It's only 16 weeks folks. If you are looking to see if college is for you or just starting back up with your education I think it's a great place to start.Mike Carson

The campus itself is clean and the security is friendly. As for the professors I had in my two year stint here, many of them were awesome people and very helpful as teachers. I feel I have learned a lot from having knowledgeable teachers such as Professor Beers in the math department and Professor Bresnen in the music department. All in all, for the most part the staff here seems to care about their students' success and I have had many more pleasurable teachers here than I expected.Dan

Beautiful campus off a not-so scenic main thoroughfare (Baltimore Avenue). I attended for one short semester and it was nice to return and see all the progress and development that has occurred over the years. Numerous new buildings including campus dining and resident halls. The campus tour we attended for my child was long, and they still have covid protocols required for visitors, which is a bit bizarre, but not entirely surprising, since the State of Maryland always thinks it's on the cutting edge of progress. Also surprised how dead it was on homecoming weekend, and the students we did see wandering on campus do not wear their Maryland colors. A bit disappointing.Avalus

From my experience till now UMD is an amazing college with an even amazing staff and infrastructure. Orientation for students are very important and UMD makes sure they have proper ones. The college is really big and is like another city in itself with everything possible available. It will take time for you to know your way around. Classes are equipped with the latest tech. Lecturers know their subject and are very approachable. These few words wouldn't justify everything about the college. Make sure you do your own research. Really nice room. All the lights had mood settings and automation. The scenery was very modern and clean. The bathroom was nice and it had some amazing views very comfortable hotel would definitely visit again. My only recommendation would be maybe having some kind of microwave or something available in the room. However I might end up upgrading to an executive suite next time just to have a dedicated kitchen.Jovon Leblanc

I realize that my opinion can't stand for the whole school (chemical engineering​ 2017), but having held a student job that allowed me to see a lot of the behind the scenes stuff and was part of a department that was in the midst of a lot of changes, I do think I can offer some insight. First, unless you're a proactive genius who wants to do research their entire life, don't bother coming here. This school doesn't care about industry or the jobs it offers. This school talks a lot, but doesn't follow through very well. For instance, the higher ups tend to be good, but the people below them are horrible. The career center is a joke, the admin people are flakes who pretend to know what they're doing, and the professors are very hit or miss. How this school got "best undergrad teaching" is a mystery to me. The only good majors are comp sci and bio. The rest of the departments, especially mine, are either full of hot air, stupid in their decision making, or just plain lost. This university attracts a lot of insanely bright students to their undergraduate program and the stem majors would suck without them. God knows the STEM majors don't get genuine help from their professors. I had to go an extra year because of the negligence of my department and two of the many professors that left during my time were upset and thought I should have graduated a year earlier. I almost transferred twice. My department, similar to many others, don't have any connections to companies in industry. This school also hates transfer students despite having a lot of them. Don't expect to finish any degree in 4 years if you're transferring in. There's no social life here because the school is filled with pasty nerds. This is the worst school in the state of Maryland (and possibly in the US). Several buildings on campus are run down (the Sondheim building has even had asbestos in it). The quality of the food is poor and it's overpriced. The social life sucks. It's not a well-known school outside of Maryland. And most importantly, classes are insanely difficult (especially for STEM majors). The classes aren't designed to weed out the slackers. They're designed to weed out the people who try their absolute hardest (and sacrifice things such as sleep and a decent social life) but can't keep up with the immense workload thrown at the students and/or approach assignments with the same exact mindset as the professors. Exams are geared less toward understanding important subject material and more toward deciphering what the professors are actually asking. This school is nothing but a weed out school. I know students who are very intellectually gifted yet still struggle with courses only because of the professors. Almost every professor, by the way, couldn't care less about students and (one would think) they take pride in handing out bad grades – maybe because it inflates their ego of "how brilliant they are compared to others". One more note on the courses – for many courses there is one week between the final exam and the last normal exam of the semester. The biggest mistake I've ever made was attending this "school". I can honestly say that attending UMBC feels like a form of imprisonment. I can't overstate how much I truly despise this school. Please don't make the same mistake I did – go to UMD, Towson, or really anywhere but UMBC.Bucky C

There are a lot of great things about UMBC, the career center is great and there are some top-notch professors. There are some problems though. One annoying thing is they nickel and dime you for everything. Parts of the campus are run down looking and they wont go there during the tour. Most of my professors have been good but my girlfriend who is an art major has had more than one professor that just had students watch online videos instead of teaching them animation topics. -Library carpet is worn out -Chairs in library are so gross your arms stick to them -ITE building has chairs with foam falling out -You must pay to play ping pong or any game in the "game room" -The billing dept gives you very little time to pay the bill and is quick to issue an expensive late fee -Social life isn't great on campus Another thing worth noting that has unfortunately been getting worse is UMBC's leadership imposing their political motives on students through 'updates' on current events. Updates are fine but the vocabulary used in some of the 'updates' is disrespectful to some students who don't agree with the same viewpoints as 'UMBC leadership'. I’m a Ph.D. student School of Business in accounting major, I’ve been at this university for only one semester. I have left since then, becuase of what I went through. Work load is extremely high, and the disrespect that me and my classmates got from the professors is unbearable. Don’t even give it a slight thought of applying here.USA

Word of advice: try and transfer out of this ghetto school as soon as possible. It'll save you the headache. TAKE ONLINE CLASSES! That way, you will not have to deal with their crap. The only good thing you'll find about this school is the cheap tuition, some good professors if you can find the right ones. So far, I managed to have good ones. And a few nice students along the way. But the unprofessional, unorganized with the admins, staff, etc is a nightmare. I'm speaking from experience with the financial aid and trying to sign up for classes. They act like they don't know what they're doing. Not to mention, you try to be friendly and they give you attitude like you did something wrong. Plus, the staff and admins are incredibly immature and straight up bullies. When you ask for help, they will act irritated, rude or expect you to it yourself. You know that you are going to be around students all day long, and if that is something you cannot handle or deliver civil professionalism, then why are you working here to begin with? Oh yeah, because they just hire anybody, and just hungry for a paycheck. Oh and also, people just tell you different answers or just straight up lie to you. If I had the choice, I would not spend another semester here for another minute. They really need to do something about this ghetto, unprofessional, unorganized, low class school and hire better admins, staff, etc too. I'll be so glad when I'm able to leave this school because I will not miss it. I'm sticking to my statement that Virginia schools are better. Also, another thing to add is that the advisers do not know how to do their jobs! I hated this college including all staffs, administration and president of this college I had many issues with back when I was attending this college. Yes, I graduated in 2004, made very high grades and achieve my goals, but the President of this college did nothing about my situation. She failed to do her job claiming that she will not bar a student for harassing me. She is very lucky I did not sue her before I graduated. Other people has complained about allowing non-visitors attending to this school for no reason. This brings a major concern about safety. I would advise no one attend to this school. It sure has very poor administration. I do not care what that president said, she is a very poor administrator. I am glad I am moving out of this state and I will be a excellent administrator this president of this college. We need to hire new administrators in this college and make changes in this college and other schools. I wonder why there are so many bad reviews about this school. It's not as bad as I thought or as I read. Yes, I did have a bad impression at first because I was supposed to take four courses, now I'm taking three because of their carelessness. But that's the only problem I've encountered here. Hi everyone! Hope all of you are doing great. In fact, I am one of the expected MBA students planning to join Stratford University very soon as a (full time student). From all what I read so far, it seems to me that the majority of students those have an experience with this academic institution are not happy or satisfied somehow. From my point of view, I strongly believe that if a student (he/she) is planning to join any school, must firstly do some effort to check and ask a little about that specific academic institution whether if it really a good one and fits his needs and ambitions or not. Secondly, try to find and ask the (alumni and staff) who graduated from or worked with this university and their experience in everything (faculty, the heaviness of the academic programs, facilities offered, student services, campuses and any other related information that is important and matters to you). Thirdly, and the most important thing is to check with the university or related authorities and ask about the university if its whether recognized and accredited or currently in the process of accreditation of its academic programs or not accredited at all. Lastly, to be fair with myself and the others I have to check, aske and do more searches about this university and then build a strong healthy infrastructure of information so then I can judge one it fairly. It is been said that “People are the fair reflection mirror to judge on you”! Eventually, I will be very thankful to receive any valuable comments from all those who will read my views and also those who had an experience with this respective university or even new people planning to join as a student or staff. I am an UnderGrad Student in the Glen Allen Campus and I am more than pleased with the Administration and Professors. I am shocked and appalled at some of these negative statements about the school. I can't speak for all Professors or all Campuses but I can say that the ones here in the Glen Allen Campus are AWESOME! I have never went to them with an issue that either they didn't have an immediate solution for me or worked on one until we got it resolved. They have a genuine open-door policy, they work with you to ensure that your academic goals get met. They offer "real world" industry tips and secrets to help you in your particular academic discipline. The professors are well versed in their fields with decades of experience. They challenge you academically as well as on a personal level; they take a vested interest in your success. I just graduated from the International MBA program at Stratford University – Falls Church. I am surprised and shocked that some students are very negative about the university. I am an older student who has enjoyed a 40+ years career in Marketing, Sales, Non-profit Fundraising and as a business owner. So, my expectations were high for the school, professors and curriculum. They challenged me to excel and I met the challenge. The entire school is behind the students. If a student fails, it is because they did not make an effort to succeed. I worked hard and it paid off. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and give you a degree, then you are going to the wrong school. If you wish to learn and excel in your chosen field then you should do well. For all those who complain about Stratford, I have to believe your attitude and approach could be part of your problem. THIS IS THE WORST SCHOOL IN HISTORY OF SCHOOLS!!! PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would. This has absolutely been the worst experience I have ever encountered for school. When you need help and try to reach out for assistance no one replies back to your phone calls nor emails. But some how, some way they know how to get in touch with you to get a payment every month! Forget about admission. They sit you down and tell you all these good things about the school and how long the program is for but forget to mention once your course is completed you still have to take an additional 5 week course to take your exit then your allowed to sit for your NCLEX! Oh and another thing. If you think for a second they'll let you see you grade for the exam forget about it. Once you take an exam it literally takes about 2 weeks of waiting to get your score, and if you wait on MS. Provost for your grade it will take at least 4 weeks and don't think about calling or emailing her. She's allergic to responding back to people. When asked if you can see what you got wrong she will say "wE aReNt aLlOwEd tO sHoW yOu yOuR eXam, yOuR tEsT iS pRiVaTe" like huh?? IT'S MINES! So what they do is give you the top 5 question majority of the class got wrong and that's it. The reason why I passed was because I got a tutor and paid a lot of money for it. This school constantly changes it's rule to better themselves and get more money. I really wished I attended another school because the way they do things here is ridiculous!!!! The only class where I enjoyed learning and the teachers were amazing and really cared about us understanding the course was Mr. Ramdat (mental health) and Ms. Molina (ob/peds). I had the opportunity to attend the school for my LPN and RN. The LPN program I will give them a 3/5. The RN program a 2/5. The school is not consistent in anything. They give out term schedules the day prior and then the day the term starts it’s been changed but no one has up dated the online schedule or informed students. Forget ever getting in contact with anyone at this school unless you owe them money, then all of a sudden the phone email etc work. 1/2 the teachers have DISGUSTING, UNPROFESSIONAL attitudes. Don’t even bother trying to follow your syllabus because “that’s just up there I don’t follow that I do my own thing”, as stated by an RN teacher. Or famous quote they love “WHEN YOU ARE A REAL NURSE……” in regards to the LPNs which is wow because most of us attended JC for the LPN so maybe we need our money back since we aren’t “REAL NURSEs”.. your classes will be from 7a-330/4p Mon-Fri.. they like to make a lot of comments about “you can’t pass my class if you are working”.. Every school has its good and bad but be aware of what you sign up for. The cost of this school is very high and you will have to pay for parking each term(it’s first come first serve and about 80+\- spots) or risk getting hit by a car walking if you live in NY add tolls and gas and when you have clinicals you may need to pay for parking. If you come here honestly I would only recommend there LPN program, it’s tolerable. But the RN if you choose to attend try to transfer in as many classes as you can and save up a lot of money prior to starting. Also practice holding your breath because a lot of these instructors are “Vile”N R

I can honestly say that I am super happy I chose Jersey College. They have a team of amazing instructors, that come in prepared to give you everything, all the resources you need to be successful in the program. I am honored to soon be a graduate. It took a lot of hard work, and studying but I could not have done it without the help of my theory and clinical instructors who came In to every class giving their best which made it that much easier for me to give mine. I graduated with my lpn at standard college in august 2015, and im now working on my RN at standard. The instructors have a lot of nursing experience and give you great nursing knowledge you will use on the nclex and while at work. The instructors and administration are very willing to help students and often provide extra tutoring IF YOU ASK for it. The curiculem is VERY challanging. standard college is for students who are focused, hardworking, and motivated to study study and study. If you want to build a knowledge base that will help to make you an excellent nurse then standard is for you. The cirriculem is challenging but you are told that at orientation and at the admissions interview many times. The school is serious about graduating educated nurses who will go into the career and keep patients safe. 80% is needed to pass each class. Its challenging but IT CAN BE DONE! I was referred to Standard College by a friend who graduated from the program and spoke very highly of the school. My experience in the nursing program thus far has been very positive (about to graduate). They provide lots of support to the students, including small group tutoring which is very helpful. You do need an 80% to pass the program, but this is made very clear during orientation. With all the resources and additional support that is provided, I am having no problem maintaining above 85% in each course.Shebna Jackson

Did my LPN from there and planning to go back my my RN as well and reason is am confident about being well prepared for NCLEX and the the workplace itself. The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. I submitted a certain paper to the Financial Aid office and they told me they lost the paper after weeks that I had to pay about $1700 out of pocket. During the 2020 Pandemic, I tried to contact them as I was having difficulty to waive the Student Insurance that is provided through the school because I already had an insurance coverage; no one answered my call until it was due. And now Miss Gaskon told me that I have to pay about $1300 for the coverage I never needed. Mis Gascon was there in 2018/19 when I had the same issue; she helped me waive it then. I could not go to her office in 2020 be a of Covid restrictions. I tried to solve the issue communicating with them but nothing got better yet. I would not recommend anyone to go the UDC unless one needs a headache. I cannot deny that there are some great Professors such as Prof. Sonnie Abebaku. However, individuals are very helpful to us, it’s overall experience at the university that makes a difference in our academic lives. So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!Henok D

Worst administration I have ever had to deal with. Not only do they never respond to email or phone calls, they can't even keep track of ELECTRONIC applications, that required my daughter to submit 3 times and be forced enrolled late into classes due to their incompetence. But they also can't even have the literacy to read the applications correctly to charge the correct rate to students. They went ahead to charge not only my daughter but several other students out-of-state resident rates when all their applications illustrated DC residents. Like how can you not even read what's on the applications! How many other students were charged nearly 3 times when they should have been charged as a DC residents scares me on the level of corruption and neglect this body demonstrates to it's it's attendees.0 Then to not even have the decency and competence to even respond to emails and calls to try to correct this is just completely absurd, no wonder UDC is a laughing stock of a school to attend they can't even serve as a place to get extra credits for actual schools. How neglectful can you be to students and applicants, like seriously!Edgar E

Okay So I applied about 3weeks to a month ago and I’ve yet to receive any papers informing me if I was missing any documents or etc. I’ve called at least 5 times a day for about two weeks straight leaving voicemail after voicemail and no one has yet to return my call not only did I call multiple times I have also emailed them multiple and no response. It’s ridiculous what’s the point of having an admissions office if they not even going to pick up the phone, guide you in the process of being admitted or anything else like you guys get paid to do nothing it’s sad.Jamilya Allen

We have been exceptionally pleased with BrightStar of Howard County. We have a long-term care giver (Sikha) who meshes great with my mom's personality. My mom is recovering from a brain surgery and extended ICU stay from May 2021. After a 5 month stay in an awful (no seriously avoid at all costs) rehab center, we decided to bring my mom home as she was deteriorating quickly and I genuinely thought I was going to lose my mom. She had medical care needs that we understood we as a family would need to take on as CNAs are not allowed to handle them and found the team at BrightStar of Howard County very accommodating and thorough in establishing the boundaries. These additional medical care needs did not last long as my mom began to flourish at home with the support of BrightStar aides. We found the customer service very responsive to our needs. We had coverage as needed to start and then landed our long term care giver. Sikha is very punctual and consistent. She has become a true friend to my mom and we consider her family. Sikha also takes great care to ensure my mom performs her exercises outside of her PT training, cooks with my mom as that is her great love, ensures she is always looking her best when headed out the door, and is quick to learn any additional needs my mom has (grooming, breathing, eating, etc). We feel like BrightStar took seriously both the care plan needs and emotional/social needs for my mother (she's a social butterfly) and found us the exact right fit with someone who is both engaging personality wise but also takes her professional responsibilities very seriously. Additionally, we have engaged a physical therapist (Robert) through BrightStar who has been a huge support in bridging the gap between what Medicare will provide and what support is needed for her recovery. My mom went from completely bed bound when she returned home in November 2021 to walking up steps in July 2022. You have no idea how hard it is to regain this ability until you go through it and Robert's guidance truly helped us to avoid setbacks as a result of gaps in Medicare funded PT due to hospital stays for additional issues. Additionally Robert has a wealth of knowledge on devices such as orthopedics we could pursue to help with issues related to mobility. We really could not be happier with the quality of care and support we have received from BrightStar in this journey on which we have embarked. My recommendation for those looking for a caregiver is to treat physical care needs as equal to emotional care needs (as in explain what personality/engagement type your loved one needs) in working with a home care agency as it really does make a difference and we have found BrightStar especially responsive to these concerns as we have worked with them. If you have a loved one who needs a higher level of care, I cannot recommend enough trying to keep them at home with the support of BrightStar of Howard County, as I promise you that nursing homes/rehab centers are not the way to go unless absolutely necessary.Corinne Mills

Hi I'm Leah Comer (I am using a friends Gmail to write this review). My Dad, now 80-years-old, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer July 2019. Shannon Romero has been our nurse from the start of this journey. Due to changes to home care infusion, we can no longer have Shannon as part of our care team due to insurance/politics. As a client our choice was taken away. Shannon and Brightstar did everything they could to remain. This review is to let everyone and anyone who will listen know that Shannon is the nurse to request!! Three years into this horrible disease, Dad's emotional state is most important. Loosing Shannon has crushed him. He trusted her with his most private and embarrassing information and tells me "I miss my friend". For over a year BrightStar of Howard County provided nursing and other care on an around-the-clock basis for my wife. The care was exceptional and the nurses and other staff became good friends with my wife and myself. The nursing staff was well trained and provided care above and beyond including exercise support, wound care, grooming assistance feeding and much more. The scheduling staff was also highly responsive to changes dictated by hospitalization from time to time. Overall BrightStar was a great choice for serious home health care.Leon Murphey

Got a call from the Admissions Rep and she basically told me all the reasons why I should NOT go to this school! If you have a Bachelor’s degree already…their transfer credit policy is crazy! It’s not for seasoned professionals looking to do a career change into nursing! If your degree is older than 10 years – it’s worthless to them and you will be asked to do EVERYTHING from scratch!! Yes, everything – even your general electives! Who does that?? Save yourself time and frustration……I recommend just going somewhere else…M Henderson

I did Bola review and let me tell you….it is superb. It felt like I was in nursing school again except there was no pass or fail just all about learning. First off, Ms.Bosse checked on me every week to ask how I was doing and if I needed anything or had any concerns. Ms.Bola was my instructor. She touched on every subject and made it easier to remember. She’s the type of instructor who repeats and repeats and repeats…and I loved it because it helped me remember certain things. She told us what areas to pay close attention to. Needless to say, I passed my NCLEX RN!!!!!! I wasn’t sure what to think about Rasmussen because I’ve heard mixed reviews from my coworkers. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this is the college to go to school if you’re a parent wanting to be a nurse. I am married and have three kids under 8 years old and I work in the hospital full time, and I’m succeeding. From my fellow coworkers, I KNOW this is the fastest program to get your nursing degree. I love my professors. I absolutely love the diversity of my professors and fellow students. I know that some have complained about the professors intelligence level. My professors are all very educated. Sometimes if English isn’t the first language, anybody would speak a little slower. This gives you an education you wouldn’t get anywhere else because you’re learning from people who are different than you but usually more intelligent as they had to work harder to get their degree because English was not their first language! Or at least equally as intelligent. People also on occasion complain about the price. I have done the math and at the speed I’m completing my degree, I will have saved more because I’ll have the degree at least a year prior to my fellow coworkers going to more affordable schools I also had Sara Packard as my advisor and she was phenomenal. She almost always replied back to my emails within an hour, and I asked A LOT of questions. Without Sara, I would have never been able to start up as quickly as possible without her quick start worksheet list of things I needed to complete. Thank you so much Rasmussen!Amber Broring

This is my second week at Rasmussen. It is challenging, but no school is easy. So far, the best thing I have encountered at this school is the support that the school incorporates together to help the students. My admission went well because I got a lot of help from my admission advisor, Brittany. She kept me alert and on track throughout the entire process. I strongly agree to listen to her advice if you plan to get your admission process completed on time. Another thing I'm pleased to have is Personal Support Center. Just like Brittany and the admission process, I got all my technical issues solved through Personal Support. Both of these two parties are well-hired for the job. You will like the support team here if you go to this school. Supports and admission definitely earn 5 stars.k yang

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. If I could give this school zero stars I would. The nursing administration and program is a joke. All they care about is swindling you out of money. They intentionally kept me from being able to retake an exam so I would have to retake a course again. Visit the BBB website and read for your self, the aren’t accredited by the BBB and they literally have a 1.19 rating out of 5 and after reading the filed complaints from other previous students it’s easy to see why. There are multiple classes that 40% of your grade is dependent on ATI exams, not the course content, so you can literally pass the class portion but still fail the course due to ATI.
