Everyone at Forest Park Dental School is wonderful to me. They are punctual with the start time of appointments. Since they are a school, they're always learning new techniques and using up to date technology and pass on their knowledge to me. They always encourage me to take care of my teeth and show me better ways to care for my teeth. I have such a great time going there. They take Mohealthnet Medicaid, so there's no charge. I get X-rays and cleanings. They always do their best from the managers, the teachers, the dentists, and the students. I highly recommend them. They are safe, clean, creative, and careful during the Coronavirus. Because of the Coronavirus they use tools that don't cause splash. They truly care. If you have a problem they can't help you with they refer you to Affinia Dental School. I'm grateful for their handicapped parking in front of the building.Jean Montgomery

If you want to be successful just go somewhere else. The professors do not teach in a way to retain the material, the test and the computer programs used for homework such as the MyOpenLab never matches to what the professors teach in class. Many students attend to gain science and math classes for their premed studies, if this is you, avoid at all means. The science department does not help students, and look for students to repeat course just to make more money. Not sure if it’s a cult within the department or what. And there is almost always no one on campus to help with tutoring. Please avoid! Unhelpful, negligent, or even downright racist staff. Ridiculous required classes that are frankly redundant to high school or useless. Refused to pay me the scholarships and wages they promised me for my work and qualifications for scholarships. Repeatedly have made it very clear they just want my money without providing any services of even considerable quality. I've tried to address this with the school and they have not even tried to communicate back with me for 9 out of my 10 attempts. I'd leave no stars, but that 1 in 10 is trying to help me right now, and even they have admitted to being blocked at every turn to get me what I worked and paid for.ThatGuy Zorv

This school is good but the instructor in the fundamentals class is no help I reach out to her at the beginning of the semester for help. she told me that she don’t get paid enough to be coming up with no 200 practice questions and told me to use my resources. They like to belittle you and say I got my degree aren’t you trying to get yours. I've been attending this school for a year now and it's horrible. The technology used in class is way outdated. They need a total upgrade because they place looks rundown. The professors are nice people but horrible instructors. I guess that's why they're teaching at a community college. The students there are very ghetto and immature. And all of my classes' subject matter is way to easy for a 9th grader to comprehend. It's definitely not a college level school. That's why I'm transferring to SLU next semester.The Legend

I'm a Fontbonne University Art Alumni and I can say that it's one of the best kept secrets of St. Louis Colleges when it comes to Art. With a focus on classical, figurative studies you won't find any school that can touch the expertise of the professors in the Art Department. Take one class with the famed Victor Wang and you'll see why students come from all over the world just to learn from this master. The faculty provides next-level support that goes above and beyond teaching skills … they help you to navigate the difficulties and intricacies of the "real world." That can be said of many of the faculty outside of the art department, too. I feel that Fontbonne really prepared me for life outside of college and they did everything they could to provide me with opportunities. The small, historic, easy-to-navigate campus provides a scenic and intimate college experience but still has a lot of the experiences you would expect at a larger college. As small as it is, you really feel as though you matter at Fontbonne. The class sizes are small, providing you with the best possible interaction with the professors. The library has an incredibly curated collection for such a small school, and the cafeteria turns out great food. Seriously, though … it was an amazing experience. Don't let the "Catholic" designation turn you away, either … Fontbonne is very welcoming to all sorts of people. I absolutely suggest you look at Fontbonne for your college education. I really felt upon graduation that I was leaving a family and a community of people who truly cared about me and my development as a professional. I still keep in touch with my mentors to this day and I can say, that, YES … I'm a non-starving artist and a BFA graduate using her art degree. I transferred there in the Summer of 1995 and graduated in May 1997 with a B.A. Art. After attending 3 other colleges my basic credits transferred. I was homeless and they let me live in the upper class dorm. I was able to get an on campus job at their library, financial aid, and took out student loans to pay for everything. Three months before graduation I felt I was unfairly fired from student teaching & that was painful. Judith Failoni asked me to quit college and leave. I said no. Instead, I was offered and did volunteer work at SLAM to graduate with a B.A. in Art. I'm glad I'm not a teacher. I'm glad I decided to get my degree. The wife of Dennis G. Golden, the President of Fontbonne, helped me get an impacted wisdom tooth removed for free from an oral surgeon she met at a party and drove me to and from my appointments. I didn't have any insurance and was grateful for the help. I enjoyed making friends with some of the Taiwanese students. I helped them adjust to American life by practicing English and going shopping. I test drove used cars for them to help them decide which one to buy. I am an alumnus of Fontbonne University. I earned both my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Marketing and Master of Management degrees from this higher education institution. I chose Fontbonne because the matriculation from Rosati-Kain high school to the campus was the next level for me in my education. The small classes were ideal for me because I had been groomed since grade school to excel with one-on-one interaction with the instructors. The student body is multicultural which is important because the world is a reflection of all walks of life. The most important component that drew me to Fontbonne was its mission statement. I am Catholic and it is very important for me to be able to exercise my faith. terrible people place full of liars and conmen! i had gone a few years back got student aid and had a bunch of things come up and had to drop out so i dropped out within the time frame so i wouldnt have to worry about paying anything back. cool few years go by and out of no where they are claiming i owe them money now and i argued this no one cared to look into this at all and now they take my state taxes every year to pay it back and they refuse to give me my transcripts to attend another college.. absolutely do not waste your time with them its a money sink they dont care about the students they dont care about education they have zero professional pride. honestly goto a proper college get a proper degree because these people dont care about anything but a paycheck. they do absolutely no investigating at all with anything ive got lists of things that happened where a proper investigation should have been done and they didnt. Having attended a number of 4 year universities, I am rather impressed with the quality of the instruction here … and at a fraction of the cost. As traditional private four year universities hunker down and concentrate on obtaining federal grants, and begging for scraps from alumni while generally ignoring the students, this school's mission is primarily educational. Sure the food isn't gourmet, and all the students aren't hand picked from private schools via house recruiters … but, in honesty, this school is more academically rigorous than many private universities, and without all the fluff that costs a pretty penny in tuition. In addition, unlike private universities, one can take classes here just for fun without breaking the bank; many such classes and certifications are offered for those wishing self-improvement and to learn without academics raining on their parade. I particularly recommend the Horticulture Program, it is both top notch and unique.Andrew Covey

I'm wrapping up my associates soon. Meramec is a pretty good college. Advisors are ok, very hit and miss but my advisor was great. Admissions people were not as great. Financial aid is good. Professors are 80% good and 20% bad. The bad ones are REALLY bad and drag down your experience here. Use "rate my professor" or talk to other students to find the good professors. I had a class with a professor that told us he hated his job and we could tell because that class was hell. I doubt many universities are any better because every place has at least a few bad professors. Do your research, advocate for yourself, sign up for good courses, and you will do great and save a ton of money.Katya R

My son goes here and absolutely loves it. The folks have always been helpful, and friendly. Never been asked for a parking pass 🙂 have been on this campus several times. Would recommend it to anyone that wants a more personal education, instead of being a number.Rhonda Syjud

The financial aid process is terrible and I have encountered many road blocks. It took me months just to sort out the paperwork with financial aid. My first semester IN CLASS was good. I enjoyed the class and the teachers were great. I tried to enroll in summer classes and found out I did not have financial aid. It would have been nice to know that this process must be done for each semester. I tried to get financial aid for the fall semester only to encounter another road block. The financial aid office states they need proof of citizenship. I have already provided documents stating I am a naturalized citizen and they have it on file. This is the same document they used to approve me for financial aid my first semester. Suddenly this documentation is not proof enough. Keep in mind I have not been contacted by the school stating this has been an issue. I had to call the school to figure out why I haven't been approved. They gave me the usual run around. Getting anything done at this school is like pulling teeth. If you can go somewhere else I would recommend to do that. Also the financial aid office has some bad attitudes… just want to update that my student loan payments are no longer deferred until after graduation. Im currently considered as unenrolled and my grace period has started which means i am required to make payments on my loans while also trying to re enroll back to this school. At this point i dont even want to go back to collegeStruggle

At the beginning of the year I received a pell grant that totaled my tuition for the entire year and then some. I was then advised that even though I had the money to pay for all of my classes and receive extra afterwards that they would not pay for two of my classes because they are not on my plan for my degree. I am going to a new school in the fall because scc is constantly changing requirements for their degrees and I have 3 classes that I have taken that do not count for anything. So I need those two classes to transfer but they keep emailing me to drop them before it “hinders my financial status”. They don’t pair you with an academic advisor and don’t really help you with choosing classes or advising you of anything beyond your first semester there. I also had a code that I needed for a book for my math class that totaled $60 dollars. I reached out to the financial aid department about this and they said that since the book was through a 3rd party that financial aid would not cover it. All in all this is not a helpful campus. They advertise that they’re a 2 year school but if I stay here it will take at least 3.5 to just get an associates degree. They don’t help with financial aid answers and don’t provide the necessary tools to have a healthy education. All in all I’d rather spend the extra 10 grand and go to a school that is helpful and understands students.Jillian Goetz

I have tried with my daughter to get her Aplus program figured out, and each time she or I go to the admissions desk/department, they seem to not really care and not anxious to help, almost as though they are bothered by her or I asking for help. I would recommend, if you have the option to go to another community college, to be sure to check if the administrative/admissions desk will be willing to help and read reviews about the college you are thinking about choosing. This was my first go around with a child entering college, but for my next 3 we will look for sure at other colleges and other options. If you can get past all the above, my daughter has not had any issues with the professors. So in summary, if you can get past admissions and administrators maybe a good choice. But just be aware you will be figuring things out on your own or plan to be very frustrated and put off due to their processes.The Hawk Seven

I graduated from Ranken several year ago and I can honestly say, this Technical college has to be one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made In furthering my education. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to attend this college. You won't find gratification when attending school here, you'll take 24 credit hours a semester like I did earning an associates degree that won't help you on the outside. Just so you know, a full time student is 12 credit hours a semester. If you want to work in a trade, the trade will teach you everything you need to know free with a small commitment, or you'll pay back for the education you received if not completing their terms. So, save your money and go elsewhere. This trade school isn't worth attending. A Union will already give you the tools you need to become sucessful.Steve O

I heard so many great things about Ranken and wanted to go there, which I did. Unfortunately, things weren't going well/working out, so I only attended for a semester. I did the architecture program. I thought I would like Ranken and architecture, but I was wrong and was not happy with my major and the way things were going. It was a waste of my money, so I'm glad I made the right decision to leave after my first semester of my only year. If you go to Ranken, be careful to pick your major, and to especially make sure you don't waste your money. It goes to show that Ranken isn't for everyone.Henry Knarr

Ever since I started here online a year ago and it’s impossible to get ahold of anybody through email or phone (only options due to Covid) for any questions you have and sometimes you get different answers for the same questions. Next: if you’re taking Human Growth and Development stay away from Diane Pisacreta. I had some questions regarding a quiz (yes I already read the syllabus I needed further info) and she emailed me back saying “read your syllabus”. I replied and said I did and I needed further information she replied again saying “you need to read your syllabus”. She refused to help me and I can’t get ahold of anyone else to talk to this issue about. Moral of the story, if you want somewhere with open communication don’t go her. Not worth the time or money. Beautiful campus with dedicated faculty, but Management here is not good and I would recommend going somewhere else for your Gen Ed courses. All adjuncts, and all online. I myself was an adjunct professor of mathematics and they also pay their instructors far less than the surrounding colleges/universities. This really limits our ability to serve the student body. I have seen students misadvised in order to repeat a course for the money. Feels like a business not an institution of higher education. Most instructors in math department are from high school and don't have the depth of modern mathematics. Nobody I spoke with was even aware of modern mathematical concepts such as algebraic topology or stochastic processes.Adamm Hockman

I had the worst experience taking college algebra at the wildwood location. My class was taught by Ms. Brown, she was condescending, sassy, rude. And overall just didn't put a positive vibe into the class she would say things like "if you dont understand this now, you wont on the homework, you wont on the quiz, and you wont on the test so your going to fail you are wasting your time." Her syllabus was unclear, and if you asked for a clarification she acted like you were dumb. Also she stands at the front of the class telling everyone to hurry up when she gives out tests. If you are looking to take College Algebra during summer at STLCC to transfer to a university (like mizzou) DONT.Adriene Davidson

The staff at the registrars office needs a lot of work. They have made the process of requesting a transcript a disaster. As a "catholic" educational institute the school should understand the need of transcripts and do their best to accommodate students in there path of continuing education. The staff needs to work on both their customer service skills and conflict resolution practices. The behavior of the staff during phone conversations and email correspondence has been completely inappropriate. Our firm would separate from individuals with their antics as soon as possible. I have been requesting my transcript since July 28 and my new school has still not received it. It my understanding that my transcript was finally sent on August 8 but I have been given no proof of that. UMSL understood my concerns on the situation and offered to accept the transcript via email. I sent an email to SLU at 10:40 asking them to send my transcript to UMSL via email as soon as possible. After hearing no response, I sent two additional emails at 12:30 and 2:00 but still received no response or indication my emails had even been requested. I finally called the school at 2:30 and the assistant registrar argued with for several minutes about how I was insulting and didn't allow them time to respond. However, she was well aware of the situation and knew who I was before I even mentioned my name. Instead of arguing for several minutes with a disrespectful attitude the correct method for resolution would have been apologizing for my experience and trying to accommodate my needs. After I explained it is taking more time to argue then to fix the situation I was told it would be emailed that day. At 3:30 I received a completely inappropriate email in which I responded with my concerns on how the school handled the situation. In my opinion the school is more of hassle than it is worth. You should always put the education of your students or former students first instead of treating someone with utter disrespect. I have asked to sit down with whoever oversees the registrars office. I have several suggestions on how the staff can improve and work with students in a respectful and helpful matter.Chelsea Langeneckert

It's a private university, so it costs more than others in the area, but if you have financial need or have great grades, you can get a LOT of help. The school itself feels very separate from the surrounding area. It's almost as if going into another city when you step off campus. The professors are wonderful, the reputation is good, and honestly the grounds are beautiful. I don't regret my time here and would happily attend again.Chelsea

St.louis is so lucky to have such a prestigious school in the heart of our city. Its so pretty and the campus is is pretty quiet at the moment due to covid but when everyone is on campus everyone you pass smiles and if you ever need help find a building everyone is willing to help point out the direction you need to go. Do not go here if you want to be an RT. Financial aid department is incompetent. None of the credits transfer! The staff make contradictory statements or can’t give you a clear answer to your questions. You will have to chase down financial aid to get them to actually do their job. Money will go missing or they will tell you that you owe when you don’t. Your account will never be accurate or up to date.They need to be audited. All hospitals in STL think slchc is a joke which is why these students don’t get hired or have such a hard time getting a clinical rotation. No one wants students from this school. Response to comment: I personally know students who attend this school and I was in the process of applying until these things came to light from my experience thus far. The credits do not transfer. I can’t get a straight answer, and financial aid is incompetent. I don’t have to be currently enrolled to have dealt with these issues. A lot of discrimination from the instructors and Dean. They pick and choose who they want to give points to. Med surg teacher stated "This group don't deserve to be nurses " "I will continue to change the test up so they won't be able to pass" and she did exactly that and nothing was done about it . This was my first medical program. The class was so hands on. I graduated from my Phlebotomy course in August 2020. I loved how we actually practiced on each other IMMEDIATELY. This gave me real life experience. I used this experience to help me not only get new opportunities but to add to my current role as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at BJC hospital. I now draw blood better than some skilled professionals. The instructor was very knowledgeable and had many credentials. You can tell they cared for each student in and outside the classroom. Bell-Brown really cares about your success. They know what employers look for. They keep in contact to make sure you have what you need to get to the next level. I love BBMI, After doing my research on other phlebotomy programs, I decided to go here and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The staff is great. The way their program is set up if you do your work, you’re going to learn the things u need to past the NHA test. BBMI not only help me learn phlebotomy, they also help with my resume and other job readiness skills. I have years of experience dealing with Midwest Institute as a parent whose daughter attended their medical assistant program and a medical office supervisor who provides externship opportunities. My daughter has been employed since the day she graduated from Midwest Institute and I personally have hired several students that externed at our office. Pam Sherwood is an excellent teacher who cares about her students and provides them the education and real world knowledge they need to be successful in todays workforce. The support they give their students doesn't end at graduation, 10 years after graduation my daughter and the staff that I hired from them can text Ms. Sherwood with questions, concerns, achievements or just to say hi. And while I don't have personal experience with their other programs I have no doubt they are of the same high caliber. I highly recommend Midwest Institute if you're looking for an affordable way to further your education.mom davis

I've been at Midwest Institute for three months now. It was super easy to get enrolled and help with financial aid. My course is primary over Zoom for now which sometimes has glitches but that is to be expected. My only complaint is that there is no fast tracking to move the program along quicker and the hours are only morning. If you cannot work at any other times than the program offers, this may not be the place for you. The homework load outside of class hours is more than I expected, it's like being a college student again but with very little control of your own schedule. Pamela Sherwood is nothing less than outstanding as a Medical Assisting teacher. She creates a fun learning environment in the classroom, providing students with easy and memorable ways to remember things like medical terminology and MA procedures. I am now working as an MA and starting a Masters of Nursing in the Fall to work towards an NP certification. I could not have gotten to where I am without Ms. Pam’s extensive medical knowledge and support. She is kind and shapes more than just medical minds in her classroom. Not Impressed!!!! Husband went there after chemo he was in pain and the dr dismissed the pain and didn’t even check my husband just waved me away when I explained how my husband copes with pain then the dr walked out of the room. My Husband got blood test daily at other hospital after chemo. We had to insist to get repeatedly that something was wrong until they agreed to do blood test 2x a week. My husband bp dropped and stayed low, heart rate stayed high at rest and he was trying not to move or breathe deep so he would not be in pain and the dr walked out of the room without committing to find the cause of the NEW symptoms that just started after the chemo and arriving at this rehab.Mrs. Adkins

My experience with this place was awful. I came here straight from Barnes after having emergency back surgery in 2009. Most of the day I laid in bed, I only met with a physical therapist once a day. I thought I was having panic attacks while there, but it turns out I was detoxing off of the Dilaudid I was given post-op. The nurses did nothing to help, and I had to aggravate them for hours just to get them to call my doctor. They were extremely rude and unsympathetic. I ended up leaving. If I had to be miserable, I was at least going to be miserable in my own bed. I hope they have better staff these days.Ariana Sprague

I was hospitalized last year in June becuase of textbook symptoms of Guillian-Barre Syndrome and was told I was going to be transferred here the night of. I read reviews and was dreading it, and having arrived almost at midnight I couldn't get any sleep because of that.. I spent almost two month at this establishment and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. My primary doctor, the therapist and everyone who attended to me was out of this world. Everyone was nice and polite to both me and my SO when she visited me during their hours. An amazing place for sure.JuanCantWin

I was removed from the program two months from graduation. Never missed a day of class was the highest performing student in my class that started with 30 but only had 12 went I was dismissed from the program for no reason. Mrs Stroud had a podcast where she clearly used the term “nigger” in it. She laugh at ridiculed students who were struggling and refused to help teach! During clinicals we would arrive at 8am and Mrs wallweber Mrs helsing as well would dismiss us as early at 11am and tell us stay from off social media and don’t tell anyone. We never or rarely did an entire clinical day. Only Mrs Espinoza and Mrs Johnson actually did entire clinicals. I was forced to be head nurse every simulation and the one time I refused to be the head nurse Mrs stroud lied and said I didn’t and I refuse when I did and I was dismissed from the program and stuck with 16k in student loans. If it wasn’t for Mrs Johnson I wouldn’t of even achieved my CNA certification. I wouldn’t recommend this program whatsoever. From Mr mix to mrs Rau they don’t care. Once they get that student loan in your name their job is complete and you are irrelevant. Mr Spencer mrs Johnson ms Dace mrs Espinoza actually care about teaching and creating nurses but I must admit the staff is mostly white and they really don’t care about you. Don’t go. Just get your RN or pay the 30k to go to St. Louis college of Health Careers!Omar Howard

Applied Tech’s LPN program is excellent, fast-paced & accredited. The caring support staff & instructors helped me achieve the competency I use daily in my own nursing practice. The teachers didn't seem very interested or passionate about teaching. They were more concern about about watching daytime dramas, deciding what place to get lunch at and speaking ill of people behind their back. It seems that they decided to get into teaching in order to get out of the hospital. During the middle of the academic year they increased the tuition cost and gave no notification to the student body except by posting it on a website that no students visits or would reasonably expect to visit.Justin D.

If you're going towards the workplace center it's not on the main campus which is where I was lost at for an hour. Everyone seems friends on campus though trying to help me look for the building. Will update towards end of course!Andre Rush

Personally, if you're political beliefs lean to the left, you'll probably enjoy it here. If you're like me and you lean far to the right, you'll probably hate it here. Keep in mind that I was at the south campus where all the nursing students are at. So this may not apply to the entire campus. This isn't my first time at UMSL, but it will be my last. I used to think that people saying that college campuses were liberal strongholds was a myth, I found out the hard way that its not. There are gender neutral bathrooms and the campus police even called me directly when they were concerned that I was concealed carrying on campus. So needless to say, they're not exactly pro 2nd amendment on college grounds for the sake of "public safety." In short, i don't think this college teaches you much in terms of being independent. Hell, the BSN program didn't even recognize the critical thinking and analytical skills I got from my history degree, and they sure as hell didn't like how troublesome I was in their program for being a dude. Jokes on them I suppose, I passed the NCLEX after not studying for 6 months, putting forth minimal effort, and after failing a class. YEAH!!! Passed on the first try too. No joke.David Wang

The University of Missouri St Louis delivers the same quality education and has the same admissions standards as the rest of the university system. It just happens to be right here in our fine metro area instead of a dumpy little town in the middle of the state. I graduated from UMSL seven years ago and my education has served me well. I had fantastic professors and have been excited to see how much they have expanded and improved residential life since I lived on campus a decade ago. When I’m ready to start grad school, I have no doubt this is where I’ll go. They offer the best value and most options for working adults. Yes, parking is and probably always will be an issue. I was ticketed unfairly a few times in my day but every time I disputed a ticket, it was waived. The reality is that there’s a limited amount of space and a lot of people competing for those spaces so the police do tend to be pretty hard core about ticketing. Put simply, if you want access to a limited resource, you should be prepared to pay for it. There are some amazing economics professors on campus that would be happy to provide a lesson in supply and demand.Kim H

Better than I thought it'd be but still would not recommend going here if you don't have to. The Rec is amazing and some teachers I've had were great. But most teachers are not, I feel like they don't take into account the feedback you give, most offices in the student center are not very helpful and the school needs some serious parking, road and sidewalk improvements. Also side note, I had my license plates stolen in one of their main parking lots. How do they not have surveillance cameras? I think this school has potential but for me to raise my rating they need to improve their customer service, education quality and infrastructure. Instead of spending money on new buildings as well as incentive payments and over the top car allowances for executives they should fix up the buildings they already have and provide students with a higher quality education experience. I mean the goal ultimately is to raise attendance and make more money right? Building more buildings doesn't equal more people filling up those buildings.Tristan H
