Veteran Review: I attended COTC and graduated with an Associates in Nursing. I can say that it was very cumbersome to attend COTC as a veteran. I utilized my Tuition assistance and needed to "push them along" the entire way. Every semester I had to contact veterans affairs and tell them what I needed them to do to approve TA. My understanding is that they needed prompted in every way and every time I needed something completed to allow me access to my tuition assistance. This includes having to pay for a semester out of pocket do to their delay in assistance and lack of ability to complete my necessary needs on their own. From my understanding, they should understand this. I am currently attempting to apply for my bachelors 2 semesters later and I am unable to receive tuition assistance, because COTC has not submitted my graduated status to TA and I am unable to attend classes as a consequence to said incident. All said and done: If you are a veteran, be prepared to coax COTC along to get what you need.SSG Ben Moran RN

I had a very close immediate relative die during summer semester. When my immediate relative had a stroke, I did not notify my professors on the matter. Sorry, my thoughts are not on telling my online professors about my relative bleeding in the brain. My time was spent in the hospital, hospice, and at work. I missed a few assignments but notified my professors at my earliest convenience. The work was completed. Professor Sample for PSY-210-NA failed me on multiple assignments, accused me of plagiarizing from a blog, and is the reason I will not be graduating this semester from COTC. The plagiarizing accusation is because I had "similar sentences of a blog post." What a joke. Never take a class as Professor Sample as your professor. Do yourself a favor and just go to a different school. I will NOT be going back there. President Coe and other faculty members at COTC I contacted did not help in any matter. Of course, they took the side of Professor Sample.Adam A

I… HATE… COTC! Its the nightmare that will never end. My husband leaves for the military in one week… His recruiter needs his college transcript, so that he can get a higher ranking, more pay and one of the jobs he wants. All he needs is the transcript. We went in on the 22nd and paid extra to have the transcript sent. They told us they would send it out that day or the next. Well today we saw his recruiter and he STILL hasn't received the transcript. We went into COTC and had to talk to them AGAIN about this. Oh did I forget to mention that when my husband first started seeing his recruiter, he paid extra to have his transcript and then they handed it to my husband, therefore making it unacceptable to the Air Force. This is not even close to the first problem either of us has had with them. Oh, maybe you all should check out there 'graduation rate.' Less than 20 percent of people even graduate! I love Columbus State and this is why: Before Columbus State: Growing up, I was never interested in the information taught in school, because I did not feel like it was applicable to the real world. After a year at a private college, I was originally apprehensive to restart college at any college. I was also scared of a community college. I grew up in Michigan, and I felt like our local community colleges had negative stigmas attached to them. Luckily, my older brother took me into the application office in Delaware, OH to take the entrance exam. I believe I tested out of an english and/or a math class. While at Columbus State: I would like to note that I always attended C-State as I held a part time job (10-20 hours a week). I originally attended an EMT-B class at Columbus State. The class was more challenging than I had anticipated and was pretty time consuming. I received a B in this course, but found employment immediately in the field and felt confident in my skills. A year later, I returned to C-State with the desires to go to nursing school. Thanks to ample meetings with advisors in Health and Human Services, I decided to take some prerequisite nursing classes as there was a waiting list to apply for their nursing program (while I worked part time as an EMT-B). During this year, I found more confidence in my work and studies, feelings of support and encouragement from staff, and rewards from hard work. I was also able to sign up easily for academic accommodations for the first time in my life! I loved my time at Columbus State within this year! I never thought I would love school or receive my first 4.0 GPA in the spring and summer semesters. For the first time, school finally felt fulfilling for me. After Attending Columbus State: I decided to leave C-State after a full academic year, and I pursued a BSN degree through another local school. I often look back at my time at C-State and regret that I did not take more classes here while saving a decent amount of money! I would suggest night classes if you are willing and able. I found that students were more likely to be hard working, more mature, disciplined, and also employed. I also found professors who taught night classes were often from OSU and more understanding. Generally my teachers were all very competent, funny, and held experience in the world. The only negative experience that I found was dealing with C-Stat's Police department staff and accessing their gym/locker room. Students must sign up manually for the gym locker rooms every semester at C-State's Police department and then wait for several days for your card to be accepted from security/police. This system seems dated and non-productive. I feel like this process should be easily automated. This issue led to a negative experience I had with a police officer that identified as Sergeant Diamond. I felt like this officer escalated my personal situation while being disrespectful and patronizing. Another time I was eating a meal in my car between classes when a police car pulled up to me and asked why I was parked between two spots in an empty parking lot and then asked me to pick a spot. I'm sure the police department deals with things they don't want to. I could have been lucky and experienced two poor attitudes on hard days, but I do not feel like the police department is fulfilling their mission that states they want to provide "exceptional customer service" for their students based on my only two experiences with them. I would take a look at how the police staff is trained at C-State.Connor Hill

I have enjoyed Columbus State and majority of the people I’ve met here while on track to my BA but this college needs some serious restructuring. The biggest thing I wish Cstate would look into is their faculty. When I go to ratemyprofessor.com and see many of them at a 1 to 2 star rating, that concerns me. I have personally had good and bad professors here and majority of the good ones were adjunct professors, the bad ended up being tenured faculty. I wish the college would look into the gripes students have and start to question whether or not they should be hiring adjunct professors to replace them. The only other major issue I’ve had is from advisors. The point of the advisor is to advise the student on their education path, but when I have a genuine question or concern, interrupting/having a snarky attitude doesn’t come off as professional to me. One last thing, please talk with the finance department about putting a budget together for another parking garage. I don’t go during peak hours anymore but when I did parking was atrocious. It will be 6 weeks this semester (Spring 2019) before CSCC releases financial aid refunds. I cannot believe they get away with this! OSU is 9 days after the start of the semester! Some people rely on these excess funds to survive another semester of school! This should be illegal and I’m pretty sure it is because according to federal financial aid funds are to be released up to a max of 14 days after the start of a semester! Insane to make people wait 6 weeks+ to receive their refund. Also, parking is obnoxious here any time of day. It also seems to me that each department does not have a good linear structure of teaching so each professor is just kind of doing their own thing whichever way they feel like doing it. Some classes are too long some are too short. It really feels like no one is in control here it’s just a free for all I guess. Employees are not friendly in any way shape or form. Honestly the only good thing about this school is how cheap it is. “You get what you pay for.” 🤷‍♂️614 Realness

Hello everyone, I have recently been excepted into the 175th class that begins April 2019. I wanted to give a little insight on my experience so far. I surfed the internet for reviews and comments about CSPN, to my surprise I didn't find many if any useful reviews, which I would say is a good thing. Most people only review there bad experiences, so I would like to give my honest review on my experience thus far. First I searched around for different LPN programs, there's only a handful out there. Then I reviewed CSPN website and gathered all the information that was provided and came up with a couple of questions to call and ask the school about. I spoke with Amy who is the admissions coordinator. She was so polite and helpful, and she remembered my name and addressed me as such the whole time I interacted with her. After making sure I met the requirements for enrollment which was outlined on there website in great detail, I located all the information that I would need to process my application. Then I reviewed the information on the entrance exam, I set aside roughly a month to study because I was a little hesitant on what would truly be on the exam. i did call and spoke with Amy again to ask a couple of questions about the entrance exam and she was very helpful with my questions and made sure I understood everything. I can say CSPN did provide a great deal of information to prepare for the exam. I scheduled my entrance exam from there website and paid online as well. This process was very easy. I received a text message reminding me of my exam as well. On exam day I was very excited and eager to take the exam. The exam was provided in paper format which I was so happy about. I'm not a computer exam type of person. To my shock and surprise the exam was exactly what CSPN said it would be, don't over think the information provided, don't distrust what was stated that would be on the exam. The exam is exactly the information stated by CSPN to study. After everyone was done completing the exam your scores was provided to you the same day, so no waiting at all. The next step is to attend an information session, which will go over all your financial aid information and give you time to ask any questions. After submitting my application and providing all the information requested, within a week or so I received my acceptance letter. I was over the moon. So far I have had a wonderful experience with CSPN admissions process and I look forward to every aspect and encounter being exactly the same. One of the worst schools I ever went too. They were very downgrading. They would alway remind us to look around the class room because l lot of us weren't going to make it to the end of the program, every chance that they could get! Im talking about second week in to the program ! The Executive Director Michelle Altshuler was very prejudice towards us the African-American students. She would say things like " Were not on the streets anymore, we’re in a class room ". Let me remind you this is a private school and they hand pick each student individually. Again I’m talking about the second or third week into the program all the African-American students got escorted out of the school by the executive director Michelle Altshuler and a police officer but the caucasian student were just asked to leave for the day (nicely) they didn’t get escorted out. They were also allowed to stay in the class room to study while us the black students were scream at the get out the class room and find somewhere else to study. This happened before we got escorted out . All Because a caucasian students felt that she getting bullied, and don't get my wrong I’m a grown adult I don’t promote bulling. Ive witness what bullying can do to the person every day on social media, but in this scenario that was not the case. This student was an attention seeker and just wanted to be seen. Every day after that we the students face a new Challenge every day when we walked through those classroom doors. The way they talked to us was just crazy ! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE. They treated us horribly and we didn't even attend the program a whole month before all this started. I m convinced that they take down all the bad reviews because I have yet to see a bad review, but had people come up to me and say that is was a bad school after expressing the situation to them.keeping up with chanel

I am almost done with the first level, and i honestly have to say out of all the schools I’ve dealt with previously, this one is by far the best. If you are the type of person who genuinely is passionate to become a nurse, then you will absolutely benefit from this facility and the ladies who i have had the pleasure of calling my instructors thus far. There are some minor things that im sure many people would not like, but like i said if you are in this for the right reasons then you know it is done with good purpose and preparation in mind to send out nurses that will continue to do right by their reputation. They have a very big holistic/health based foundation to their classes and methods which i love, and communication is open, they go out of their way to make sure everyone succeeds and understands the material. If you come into this with the intention on putting studying on the back burner, or doing the bare minimum then expect to struggle, it is a 12 month course and alot of material. As long as you prioritize accordingly (especially with home life, children, etc) you will be successful. You have to invest in yourself and education the way you are into the school upon enrollment. This time will fly by, and as long as you treat your education as the ground works to your future, and the standards of the future care of your patients, then not only will you enjoy the school, you’ll enjoy learning which will make it even easier to comprehend and get through it. Don't attend this school for anything outside of pre-licensing real estate classes. They now have an accreditation for an associates degree but the program is severely lacking. Moreover, they have instructors that do not provide instruction. But they do have a couple who seem very knowledgeable in their field and are actual professors. You take an online class, which attendance is based on a weekly online discussion post, and your instructor gives you assignments. The thing is, the work given is graded by a person who can grade more heavily weighted on assignments based on their opinion. I've found that one of the instructors of the financial management courses grades very harshly (deductions are fine but hers are not consistent or fairly weighted) in an effort to make the class seem harder, yet she provides no real instruction. It took me more than three requests to get more info and explanation from this instructor about work that she assigned. She graded with a heavy hand and still only provided a YouTube video. Her initial response was to look at a two line blurb in the book. It's sad because this person has no consideration for the fact that she is not actually instructing anything. All the info and instruction comes from YouTube and the book, but she is the one who casts your grade. This is a very hard environment to learn in and to feel good about learning the info. If financial management or business finance is a part of your curriculum, consider choosing a different school. For reference, I have a B.S. in Chemistry so Im capable and have done "the work" for a degree prior to now. This instructor completely sucks the enjoyment out of learning the material because you only become focused on, "What's she gonna deduct for today?" Or, "How much is she gonna take off for our differences in opinion on an open ended question?" I feel disheartened. I'm over the red pen grading method. I'm over the lack of instruction and the poor curriculum. If you don't enjoy feeling depressed or defeated everytime you log on to your class, DO NOT attend Hondros or take these classes. It's worth the little bit of extra money to take it somewhere else.Shannon Crutchfield

I am taking the most affordable option for a mandatory Life and Health and Accident insurance pre-licensing. My gripe with the program is that it sold itself as self-paced, but it is anything but that. It is true that you can do it on your own time versus keeping to a schedule with a formal class. However, it limits you to a snail's pace with (slowly) timed continue buttons through the course. I did not appreciate this as I read at my own pace, and the course DOES NOT proceed at my pace. Granted, it is very explicative.. but for someone getting relicensed and mandated to take the course by PA I am disappointed I cannot speed through as I already know 80% of the information. Hondros, explain that you are metered to x amount of minutes per course. It is not truly self-paced.Joseph D

This review is only for accessing their online training through mobile phone. It is impossible to navigate, it is one of the buggiest, and user unfriendly platforms I have ever used. When it asks you to click “accept I am the person taking this course” it will not let you scroll down long enough to click the submit button. If you do make it to the mobile training site, the middle of every page is covered with “you are on page 1 of 10. Would you like to see the material? Too bad, but now you’re on page 2 of ten” Maybe android is better, but you should avoid if you’re using an apple phone.ryan hupp

Thank you AMI for accepting me and for being the foundation of my nursing career. It was definitely an exciting experience for me moving from California and making a new life here in Ohio. Not only have I had a great education from AMI, I have learned about a lot of different cultures and appreciate that AMI was very inclusive of different cultures when teaching us about patient care. Be prepared to work hard and never be afraid to ask questions. This is not the type of school where you can just miss assignments or show up late and it will all be okay. No, this is a nursing school that truly prepares individuals to enter into a career as nursing professionals. It was tough, but the instructors were always willing to help out students whenever they needed. Shout out to Dr. Elnaggar for being the best A&P instructor. To my other instructors and staff Mr. Ali, Dr. Gates, Dr. Tiya, Dr. Crayton, Professor Pauline, Professor Carol, Professor Jan, Mrs. Rosemary and Elfreda thank you all so much for your hard work and dedication to your students. AMI really helped build me into not just a nurse, but a GOOD nurse. Since graduating and passing my NCLEX on my first try I have so far received a handful of job offers from OhioHealth, Mount Carmel, and Nationwide Children's to name a few. I truly feel that every graduate that walks out of AMI will have a good nursing foundation along with strong morals and ethics. Mrs. Haja Conteh was truly the only reason why this place gets 3 stars. She is a great instructor and laid everything out simply, I had her for the night class. The place itself is sketchy, costs way too much, we don't get to keep the textbook, and the AC was out for the entire 2 weeks. It was hot and gross and certainly a health code violation. It was a fast 3 weeks though and the material was not hard at all. Overall, since it's cheaper than Alia I recommend it. But ask for an itemized list of why they are charging you around $400 for nothing. The place needs to be revamped, it's hella run down and all the materials are old and gross. Get the damn AC fixed for future classes. If you take the classes, ask if Haja is teaching the day class or night class before you enroll.Abby Ray

I had Miss Haja as an instructor. She gets 10 stars. Loved her! Super cute and helpful and informative. Also had Miss Brenda who I also loved. 3 stars for the management of the actual facility and classes; unorganized due to Eric. He’s a nice dude, but wasn’t helpful when the snow came and snowed us out. All of the classmates waited for about 45 minutes (doors were locked and lights were off) we were dismissed and told Miss Haja wasn’t answering by Eric but he told Miss Haja we all ‘just left’ on our own. Frustrating as Miss Haja was on her way and late due to snow, and had talked to Eric! We had to make up hours and it was lame. Otherwise, good experience with the instructors.Grace Allison

Chambrell was a wonderful teacher! Really glad I decided to get my training here. Also, for the cost of STNA training it was cheaper compared to other places nearby. They give you everything you need to prepare for the test and Chambrell creates a fun learning environment. She was very helpful and loves what she does. Highly recommend! Graduated from Hannah Mullins recently. Have I received a decent education? Yes. But only by being dedicated to learning the material, studying constantly, and having previous knowledge before starting this program hence why I gave two stars or I'd of only given one. Pros- Decent education. Able to pass NCLEX. Some of the teachers are very knowledgeable on the material and nursing in general. Some teachers actually care about you and want you to learn and pass. Others not so much. Cons- School/staff are UNORGANIZED. UNPREPARED. UNPROFESSIONAL at times. Can't keep staffing, and they take on much more than they can handle. You'd think this school was brand new for how chaotic things are at times. And it's never administration or staffs fault. The student is almost always at fault. Point system like you're in prison, where you get so many points then you're dismissed. Aka petty point system. They pick and choose what rules they want to follow in their handbok, change rules throughout the program, and pull rules out of thin air that never existed before. Nursing school is hard anywhere you go and thats no different here. And if you can get past all the drama, politics, pettiness, unorganization, unpreparednees that this school offers you will receive a decent education, a good nursing foundation and most likely pass your NCLEX.BHenley1990

This school does an amazing job at preparing nursing students for the NCLEX-PN licensing exam and for the medical field in general. HEM is a 44 week program and a majority of the students have employment opportunities after graduation in the nursing field. Hospitals and other medical employers make it a point to hire a HEM grad with the hands on experience, training and passion for nursing and patient care. I found this school very informative and helpful. The instructors definitely cared for the students and actually WANT you pass. They take it very seriously. Chambrell did an excellent job and was extremely helpful during the entire course. She was professional and very knowledgeable (and funny!). The course can be overwhelming, only if you don’t study hard, but they provide so many resources to help you and you will feel more confident by the end that you can become a nursing assistant. I enrolled in Larocks Medical assistant program in December. The first 3 weeks consisted of listening to an instructor read power points on zoom. I learned zero from this as all tests were open book. I was looking forward to the skills (in person) part of the class. I was due to start on the 20th. Upon arrival I learned from students outside that the teacher had become Ill and class was canceled. No emails were sent prior to this happening. First red flag. Once more students showed up and found out, obviously the admissions rep was getting multiple phone calls so an email was sent out that she would take no more calls and students would have to attend evening classes. Many students could not attend evening classes due to jobs and families. She also stated in her email that the announcement of the teacher being sick was announced the previous Friday in class which was not true and all students confirmed that it was untrue. Second red flag. It took them another full week to even respond to my emails looking for a resolution, but the fact that they lied and tried to push people into schedules they didn’t sign up for left a bad taste in my mouth and the lack of communication and accountability was weird too. I let it go and expected to return to class on January 3rd. Before class I receive a text that I am late on payments and would be getting a 25$ late fee per day despite not being in class for over 2 weeks. When I sent an email asking why they thought they deserved money, and accused them of sketchy behavior again, I got a passive aggressive email back from the director Beth castle, who stated they’ve done nothing sketchy and my class was at 10’am and that Covid was the reason. I am sympathetic to people having Covid but the people have nothing in place for when/if problems come up and leave the student scrambling to figure everything out and if you challenge them or point out that the way things were handled were wrong, you’ll be spoken to like a chiLd. Unprofessional . Unethical. They want your money and that’s it. Also, if any rep decides to respond to this with any story besides this, I’ll respond to the thread with the email chain of all correspondence matching this story.Jason Jones

I’ve been working here since June 2021. I have not had any hours since November and have contacted them several times because they were supposed to get my schedule together at the end on March but they have not contacted me back. I use my email daily and two days ago my email was deactivated. Never had this happen before but now I am unsure of my employment status. I have not quit and nothing has happened for me to be fired. I feel like it is very unprofessional to not be able to communicate with your employees. I do want to speak out and say this school does the bare minimum for these students to graduate. They really should not be open. It’s very unorganized. Students are not staying for the hours they are supposed to. They mainly do online classes and the instructors are not qualified to teach. They can’t even pronounce the medical terminology correctly. They talk the entire time and then get off the video meet. They had me teaching stuff I didn’t even know about. I was supposed to be a phlebotomy/MA teacher. They had me doing clinical lab assistant and patient care technician. I get that I know some of it but there were things I didn’t know and Beth would just explain it to me quickly or tell me to look at the book they had. They jam classes together. My first class during Covid.. I had a class of 32. We didn’t even fit in the small classroom. I only gave it a one because I had too. To be honest, any school would be better education wise than this one. Also career wise! Take me for example. How does an employer just to decide one day to stop communicating with you but you are still employed… well at least I thought! Everyone is telling me to file unemployment because I have all the screenshots of our emails from me reaching out and them saying they are working on my schedule and just all the screenshots I would need. I absolutely loved my instructor, as well as my classmates! It wasn't like other classes where you were serious all the time, we did make the class fun. I personally grew close to all the other girls in my class. They were like my own little phleb family. <3 There were some flaws in the textbook,however. Some of the textbooks were disorganized. I have not gone to this school, but several of my friends have. For each and every one of them, it was a terrible experience. They all started thinking they could get two-year degrees, and six years later not one of them has one. Here is a smattering of the things they have experienced: – A professor who canceled a class in order to watch a football game, and for any other reason he wanted – in the end the every-other-week class met only three times during the entire semester – Tests that cover things never discussed either in class or in textbooks – Bureaucratic nightmares regarding transcripts, unclear requirements for graduation, being told a class was required and then later finding out it wasn't – Online classes where the professor logs on once a week and responds to no emails – The school literally does not provide all of the classes needed to finish the degrees they 'offer', only preliminary classes – the degree must be finished elsewhere, assuming the credits even transfer (good luck) – Terrible communication both with professors and administrators, and a clear sense that no one there cares about any of the students at all – Classes that teach basically nothing, for instance an HTML 'class' for which all of the material could have been learned during an hour using google. – Unclear syllabuses, missing graded items in the final grade, midterms going ungraded and never returned, expensive books that are never used This is by no means a comprehensive list. I'm putting up this review to hopefully spare other young, desperate people from what this farce of an institution has done to the people I care about. Yes, the campus looks nice and the tuition rates are low, but you will not get an education here, and no one in the building will care how badly their lies and neglect will screw up your life.Irena

Academic advisors are very difficult to get ahold of and when you one gets ahold of them they are disrespectful. They tell you to just email them your problem which are then returned with an automatic email about where to find things. You'll get this email even if it has the things you didnt ask for. My only college education is passing a semester of English in community college. I like to visit college campuses when I am in different cities. When I was walking the campus a nice young lad riding an electric scooter stopped me and asked "Hey where is the library?". I was extremely flattered by this. He assumed 1 I looked young enough to be a college student walking to my next lecture. 2 that I was smart enough to attend this university (sadly my grades in high school are way below the requirements to attend this university). My pride was fulfilled. Sadly for him I informed him that I did not know where the library was as I was not a student. Also the grounds keeping staff does a top notch job.Jake P

I had an incredible experience at The Ohio State University. There is a lot of stuff to do here; you can never get bored with all the fun events on campus. The campus is always very lively and fun. OSU got plenty of libraries with a big book stack, so you never need to worry about study space. OSU have all the recourse that a student can think of; they also have fun clubs and societies so you can join them according to your interest. The campus bus service is also excellent, so there are no worries about transportation around the campus. The recreational center at OSU is one of the biggest in the whole country. And how can one miss the Shoe the best football stadium.TUSHAR GARG

The university has a broad spectrum of offerings that should appeal to the masses. The campus is well laid out and there is plenty of room for parking and walking around campus with ease. Whether you are a serious student or still trying to figure out life, you should be able to find quality friends and a quality education here. The real question is do you want it? Life is ticking, TikTok better get busy! The student union has a lot to offer there is plenty of places to study, to get your banking done, to get administrative work done, and meet up with your friends casually. Columbus State could have done better but the way Columbus State, offers the class the GED . it’s like the college didn’t want you to joying into the school. Some college out of State rather you don’t pass the pre-test, they still will work with you ,until are you ready to take the test.get better and will be accepted into the Columbus state but it is so different .Blair Blanc

Brand new campus location: When I took a class in the fall of 2019, the wireless wifi was VERY slow to the point where it isn’t worth counting on for serious tasks. Facility is very clean and can get overcrowded during the day if you like your personal space to study. I found the student demographic to be very young.Connor Hill

Don't waste your money unless you are going to study Nursing or Law. Reviews say this college is pretty conservative but in a lot of my experiences, it is anything but that. For the amount of money it costs to go to this school, it's almost not worth it. The dorms need renovated BADLY. With the 3 main dorms on campus the rooms are so small and accommodations are limited. Not enough washers and dryers and the buildings are crawling with dust. Poor maintenance on all of the buildings and nothing is really updated in general. The food sucks too. To top it all off, Capital is building a brand new convergent media center for film students, and my only questions are: why would you build something for a group of people who won't have much of an income when they graduate to either 1) pay off their debt or 2) give endowment money back? To me, this place is only worth it for Nursing or Pre law/ Law. Finally, residence life and admissions are a joke because each year they accept more students than they have room for then make the upperclassmen suffer their stupid decisions.Andrew

I find the negative reviews to be perplexing. I graduated from Capital in '96 after transferring in some hours from other schools. And, I completed six years of part-time course work in the Adult Degree Program (ADP) while working a full-time job. Most of my professors had PhDs, including my advisor. My professors were very friendly and our interactions were always pleasant, yet, they challenged me in class, on tests, and on papers via critical thinking. They were top-notch educators. I, also, came to know several professors on a more personal level by volunteering with them at WOSU and manning the phone banks for donations. Yes, they took the time to give me personal attention, however, I also observed that they did the same with other students. Attending Capital was like a breath of fresh air and very unlike the impersonal way I was treated at Ohio State, and even at Columbus State. At Capital I felt I was being treated as a real person and not as a mere number satisfying a quota.Steven

WORST college I ever attended. The professors were the only good things about the school. The rest of the faculty were horrible. Financial aid won't help you or explain anything to you. In order to attend classes you must make sure EVERYTHING is paid for. And don't plan on ever leaving the school because they will screw you over big time. This school costs so much money for NOTHING. If you want to go to a good school, go to OSU or somewhere else. Capital looks like a nice school but they're just money hungry. Seriously do your research and do a visit before even going to the school. Try to sit in on a class if you can. If I was you, I would stay clear of this place and go somewhere else.Kim Porter

HVAC ADULT ED STUDENTS BEWARE!!! If you are considering spending almost 10k on the adult Ed hvac class at PRCTC DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! This “class” was an absolute waste of money and nine months of my life! Most nights we would sit in class and my “teacher” (some contractor who had a masters degree in psychology and thought he would give teaching a whirl) spent most of our evenings watching YouTube or “studying”. Studying consisted of us teaching ourselves subjects from the book. Or playing cards or standing outside smoking ordering food or pretty much whatever we wanted to do. The teacher had the basics I do believe however most all of us had the basics upon entering the class. We never once used the I pads we were given for any class work never once did a slide show or any type of formal teaching presentation or lesson plan. All I had to do to pass this class was show up and teach my self how to pass tests by memorizing them. This “program” in no way improved my odds of getting gainful employment. Majority of my classmates still can’t find jobs in the field. The only thing we actually learned was taught to us by an actual teacher that came a few nights a week to help our teacher. Our supplemental teacher taught us how to get our universal license for handling refrigerant. Which our own teacher admitted to us openly that if he had to retake the licensing he would never pass. However this certification is open to the public and only costs $75 online. I could have easily obtained it myself after all the study material we were given on the subject had to be turned back in and was not ours to keep. I had to also buy supplemental online teaching to pass this test online bc there was so little information offered except going over the alleged test questions the might be on the test because these tests answers weren’t given to the teacher to be passed down to the students to be memorized. We never actually learned anything about refrigerant handling by our teacher just how to pass the test. Our supplemental teacher did his best to show us the why behind everything that we were learning for the epa608 and did his best but was only able to do as good as our “real teacher” would back him up on. We were told of some funding that was allegedly set aside for hvac to get trainers and actual up to date equipment but in nine months we never saw any of it. The equipment we did have to work on was outdated and nothing that Is being sold in the industry currently. Also the tools we had to work with that were in the shop were all old and outdated nothing from the current market. We had hardly any supplies to work with. The few things that we were taught were never formal or out of the book it was more like a casual conversation with the guy that did it that one time in the past. The school acknowledged the problem with the teaching staff but never offered anyone any money or compensation for our lost time or wages, not to mention the debt we all went into to pay for this program. This school is an absolute scam and I hope a state representative that is in charge of funding takes the complaint seriously or at least the people at nccer who had their tests proctored in house when it was very clear to everyone the students who were taught nothing still managed to get very high test scores. It’s almost like we memorized the answers to the tests as if they were provided to the students… if you’re still reading this review I really hope you don’t listen to prctc’s empty promises of fixing anything. It won’t happen and before you know it you’ll be out the door they will have their money and no one will care about a thing you have to say.Travis Barger

I took a motorcycle "class" there. It was more like a test. There was little to no teaching. When I was struggling rather than to offer additional help, they expelled me from the class. I signed up specifically for a beginners class. But they expected intermediate skills. Thus far, I have not been offered a refund or any consultation. I travelled 2 hours from home, 2 nights in a hotel, plus class fees and I leave with nothing. Whatever you do, stay away from the riders course unless you already ride. Of course, if that's the case, why take the class?Erin Johnson

I have a friend who's son took the computer course. They were required to solder components onto the computer. They were not taught coding. Someone needs to tell this school that soldering anything onto any part of a computer is not done in the USA. Parts are manufactured in China and that is where the soldering is done. Coding is what is needed and what pays. If you are not teaching coding, you are depriving the students of what the need to become employable in the USA.Diana Harkness

I am so grateful and I'm pleased to announce that I will be taking my state boards soon, my experience at OMCC was a good one, I remember while I was in school all the negative people that kept saying that the school is all about money, no they're not,, they're all about preparing you for your test!! I am a thankful for the teachers and all the staff at OMCC,, especially Bob,,,He helped me get through a lot of things and kept me positive. So if you go to attend OMCC,try to avoid the negative people and remember to keep positive and that the school is there to help you. I hope one day I can return and go for my RN. Dr Daisy and her staff are AMAZING!! I attended Ohio Medical College for all of my medical education! I first went there for my certified nursing assistant classes. It was great! I learned and passed my state test on the first try! Went back for practical nursing, teachers were very knowledgeable, reliable and understanding! Passed my NCLEX exam and worked as a LPN while going back to OMCC for my Register Nurse Associates degree. Finished and now living my best Nursing life!! I would highly recommend this college! I am so happy I chose OMCC for my LPN nursing career! As an older adult learner I struggled at first to actually start the process of learning online. But the staff, the teachers, the admin and the financial adviser were very patient and understanding. Was it easy? No. But they helped guide me thru the choppy waters of going back to school in the tech age at over 50 yrs old, bravo OMCC!
