A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. I say if you over 30 years like me this college is not for you. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

The only reason ppl go here and are willing to grossly pay for an education is the location. I went to school here and will say it is far overpriced for the education you are given. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Pace is expensive, doesn't help the students getting internships and when the students get one on their own, Pace takes the credit. After graduating, the students don't get a job. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? This is a good school. However, the quality is almost identical to the CUNY school I attended before coming here that costed significantly less. Additionally, the lack of diversity (granted, because of how this is a private school) is also lacking. I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. One of its kinda school Historic place as it is more than 100 year old school CUNY’S most iconic campus so far As building is quite old, construction is going on still it’s worth taking a walk here Lush green gardens and beautiful library plus awesome walkways and old concert hall and other buildings. If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Does not actually teach anything, except the one time he was being evaluated. Does not respond to emails. Never comes on camera. Samuel Olagun- jeez where do I begin. Just do not take him. Arrogant, condescending, rude, unresponsive. Evan Owens- spent most of the semester focused on his graduate work than our class. Gave the same grade to everyone in our group project even though 2 people did no work. They earned a free A. Overall the school is a nightmare and I am so happy that I have never had to step foot on this campus. They act like they are doing you a favor instead of their jobs. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. As F-1 visa international student, I would say that ASA College is a great place for our educational and career goals. Professors are responsive and very collaborative as well as helpful. During my education in ASA College I was able to make friends with students from different parts of world. The most of them are my lifetime friends now. Classes are not too big. Therefore, providing a tremendous opportunity to study and excel your knowledge and/or skills. I would recommend international students to study in ASA College if they want to be ready to compete within existing job market and get a job they are looking for. One of the benefits of ASA College is providing an internship opportunity. ASA College gave me the opportunity to get my first degree in Medical Assisting in the USA, and also to gain useful experience through work in the admission office. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. WORST.SCHOOL.EVER!! I hope they close down for good VERY SOON! There's no motivation or inspiration at all in this school whatsoever. The counselors and teachers are horrendous!! For every 5 teachers there, only 1 teacher is decent! They hold back their students far too long from achieving their true potential and don't even get me started on the atrocious time consuming and full of adversity enrollment process!! If you're still stuck taking a remedial/non credit class; instead of being able to register online LIKE IT SHOULD BE FOR EVERY STUDENT, you're instead forced to go all the way to Valhalla to register for classes EVERY semester until you've passed ALL their pointless non credited classes! Very excruciating and appalling for any student! Their counselors are always putting down students, not one can potentially uplift you when it comes to succeeding in school. This school is entirely all a scam. Miserable place. Professors don’t care. They have people who don’t speak English teaching the math department. Those in the financial building are miserable, uninformative and rude. Nobody communicates!! Financial Tells you one thing and the counselors say something different. Totally unorganized and made my college experience a miserable one. They prioritize minorities and even questioned me on why I’m not on financial aid. Teachers WILL fail you if you don’t agree with their POLITICAL views. Community college is supposed to be affordable, but they manage to shake you down for every little penny. I was pretty skeptical about going back to school during this plandemic and now that I’m back in school, I wish I would’ve saved my money. The website says lab classes will be conducted online but it’s actually remote. If you want to pay full tuition for a partial education, then this is the place for you. The people who work in the administrative building specifically the Bursar’s office don’t care. The administrative building is physically closed so the only way to communicate is via email. This is a good college especially for the price. I got a degree here and also worked on campus. It's hit or miss with professors, but I would recommend checking rate my professor and ultimately you mostly get out of the classes what you put in. I would recommend it, though it is a different environment than a 4 year institution. There are less social groups and no dorms, but some people prefer that. It's not perfect, but I think all of their equivalent classes are pretty much the same difficulty and information as 4 year institutions.Jamie Giambalvo

The virtual learning that this institution provides is one of the most frustrating times I've ever had on a computer, and I am used to working with computers. I paid over $3,000 for what is basically internet hogwash. I have had easier times navigating through a corn maze than Blackboard. I haven't even mentioned the utter disaster and scam they call financial aid, of which they make near impossible to acquire. Was told i could drop my current classes and register for new classes with no penalties. Exactly right after that, they tell me registration is closed and that only late start registration was available. Being misinformed leave me unable to get my credits, transcript, and lastly a $2000 bill for classes i didnt take. For anyone attending suffolk, DO NOT choose Ammerman campus for anything. They misinform you and also dont inform you on the basics. Grant campus was much better. No problems with them.Eric Larsson

I stayed at the Third Street shelter for a short time but I was profiled both as being white and Jewish. Quanda Delande, the woman in charge of this otherwise wonderful shelter with the kindest, sweetest, most hard working and helpful staff, gunned for me from the moment we met. She made anti-semitic comments and baited other residents to attack me, black residents, drunk residents, residents she told I was racist and when they did, I was the one who was forced to leave, along with my only friend in that shelter, who happened to be black. Quanda Dalande is a terrible person and it's terrifying that someone who hates the Jews she works for so much that it effects the way she runs a Jewish owned shelter. I considered suing but honestly, she is her own worse revenge and she knows it. You can catch her in knee high lace up 6 inch boots smoking in front of the shelter with the residents because not only is she evil, she is also trashy. The Parenting classes were wonderful when Ms.Baker was leading them. When Ms. Young took over as a director of the entire program she had no accountability for her actions. I reached out to her in Dec to check my progress to remain on track I didnt hear back from her until Feb. She never answered my email but reached out to My ACS worker. When I tried to recieve a valid explanation from Ms. Young she told me that they were in transition and she simply forgot. In turn this is your life and although I tried to be accountable on my own part I was hung up and spoke to very nasty. I will not be continuing classes with them. As a director her title requires a different level of professionalism. She does not exude or model that behavior.Brandi Baxter

Regarding Summer Fun Saturdays at Dry Dock Playground, I think it is great that you host events for the community. However, I don't understand how having a dj blast music at the highest levels in a residential community is beneficial to all the senior citizens that live in the buildings that border this playground. This is the best accredited medical school. HANDS DOWN!! At first I was a little skeptical with my choices but I thank God that I made the best decision. The lecturers are so perfect and they make you understand everything in the simplest form , not only the lecturers but career services (Ms.Sabrina Lewis) stayed with me until I got the job , she gave me the answers to ALL the interview questions and SURPRISINGLY guys I'm employed with an OB gyn on the Upper East side. This school is garbage. They can’t even find teachers who want to teach here and when they do they might not even have a degree or know what they’re talking about. (GOOGLE GOES A LONG WAY) the teachers have nasty attitudes specifically Ms dascher who has been there a few years so they won’t fire her. Don’t mind making a complaint to the director it’ll get ignored. Mr Okundaye who brings his personal problems to school and tries to make you miserable right along with him (again no disciplinary action when my whole class told the school he’s a horrible teacher) They are probably all mad from the low salary they receive since the school is federally funded. They don’t care about your success… just that a behind is in a chair so they can get paid. One thing though ms Nicholas the math teacher is brilliant!!! BEOC is a very good school, they have TASC Program nursing tech, micro soft, college readiness. ect..i've learned a lot already in a short time . the teacher works with you in your level, and if you don't understand your class work they'll assign you to a tutor. The tutor are friendly and helpful, they help you understand the work you need help in. BEOC also has an attain lab with and ISI or AZTEC, in this Lab you can work on your own, and brush up on your weak points. the lab coordinators are also very helpful. if you need any other help with your work ,you can ask the lab coordinator or the advisor to set up a buddy group, these buddy groups are helpful because it allow you to learn from others and visaversa you can' go wrong . i have a lot of tools i can use to better myself .luz solla

Still waiting for the OSHA 30 Certificate class to start since January. They make you sign up online (really hard to navigate btw) to notify me when classes start. fast forward until today….Still no updates. I constantly try to email the offices and they keep telling me the same thing "classes do not start yet" for like the 12th time now through out the last 3 month. It would be more convenient if there were a date to look forward to or give me a more honest reason as to why there arent any classes yet. Very unsatisfiedronald bernal

They curate programs that’s individualized for students so each student is getting their needs met instantly. Especially in a 1-1/small group setting, the child is getting the utmost attention and immediate feedback (compared to tutoring in a whole class). In just a span of two-three months, I’ve seen students progress so quickly and it makes me so proud. I especially like the monthly teacher meetings where we learned different strategies to manage students’ behaviors and to help students learn more effectively! My son had fallen behind in school and was very frustrated with homework and with himself. After seeing him cry during homework time because was was very confused, he told us he often felt lost during the school lessons. We signed up with Huntington and he did great. They were able to go back and make sure he had all the fundamental building blocks that were missing and keeping him from moving forward in school. Well worth the money. Due to COVID and remote learning, my son fell behind in certain subjects and he needed help. Huntington was the way to go. Within 8 months he has excelled and is ahead of his grade level. My son has been doing remote once a week and one on one in session. Huntington is very attentive to my child's needs and they are very professional. Waste of time to apply to work for this agency! I walked in to the office about 1.5 month ago. I Filled up, every necessary papers. I gave them my work permit…etc. Than they sent me to the doctor for the physical exemption. I went to my own doctor and I did every necessary exam. When I got my result I gave that to them and they said few days later it is not good enough for them. So, I went to their dr. Than I went for an orientation for a whole day. Than waiting for the exam results 2 weeks. After all off this things they took my papers and checked it. I spent 1.5 months to wait always the next step. Everything went soooo slow. At an other agency the whole thing is done in 1week!!!! So, after 1.5 months waiting and waisted so many hrs and days ( like sitting on the orientation for a whole day) they told me, sorry we can’t except you, because I’m not a citizen. They could tell me on the first day when I walked in to the office and not waisted my time!!!! I could work already for an other agency more than a month ago. I wasted time and money! Plus, they are paying so little money. 3$ / hr less than other agency. I’m very disappointed!Betty M.

I feel like my experience was very horrible I actually got excepted in the classes and because I couldn’t afford to pay myself phone bill they kicked me out of the classes and then I called and asked him why was I kicked out they said that they tried to contact me so I explained to them the situation that I became homeless and they still kicked me out even though I showed them I was determined of me wanting to be there I called them for about a week and a half to two weeks because I was supposed to speak to the supervisor Jasmine and she told me she would let me know on her decision I ended up calling them Friday morning today and I was told that I couldn’t come back to the classes and I asked why would you guys wait a week and a half to let me know this there was no response so that’s why my experience was horrible and to be honest I don’t recommend anybodyDarya Breezo

I have been trying to get my surgery done for YEARS! well over a decade. My insurance did not accept any of my request out of all 4 times previously applying. I decided to go to Destination Tomorrow when i found out there was a specialist for transgender women who walked through the same experiences I wish to walk through, I decided to give it another shot. I was assigned to Jahaira Gonzalez and she helped me get to the correct doctor that has experience dealing with my insurance. She also helped me with getting the right dermatologist so that I can have treatment on a issue i have been insecure about with my facial features. I have been waiting for years and years, I am so excited and cannot wait for the completion of my journey. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone trying to better their lives. They promise you a job at the end of your course and then claim that there are no jobs available. The teachers use their time to threaten you and accuse you of talking, not paying attention or just deviant behavior while you sit their silently and then all faculty staff say “well it’s a free program” they also threaten to remove you from class and tell you to “get out” if you have questions or you bring up things that you’ve learned before that challenge what they’re teaching and ask for clarification. There was a teacher who would actively blame me for the things the girl next to me did. If she was speaking in class, eating or even sleeping she would accuse me of being the one talking or the one that was influencing this grown girl to behave the way she did. While I sat there quietly and did my work. Don’t do it if you have anxiety or depression cause this place will push you to kill yourself having to survive here. They also remind you that you’re a charity case that they have blessed with the right to attend to school.Alana Hernandez

I love taking my tests in this facility.. The place is comfortable and not to far from my home. I always bring a sweater with me because it can be chilly in the room. Came here to take an exam. The man at the front desk was very friendly. You get a small locker for your personal items. You hang your coat in a closet. Small place but it feels comfortable.B

Terrible school. You will be overcharged and not get a real college experience. I had to pay $8000+ just to sit in class and do nothing. I did more at home than in the actual classes. This is a pro-profit school people!!! all they care about is the $$$. I felt like a was lied to and they over exaggerated what the could do for me. I was poor with my mother living in welfare and was gullible. I believed every promise and now that I know better I regret every useless second I spent here. A Berkeley College degree is a joke to any future job. It is the hardest thing to find a college that will accept credits from here once you open your eyes and want to go to a real college. STAY AWAY! PS. This school is being sued by NYC Consumer Affairs for fraud and many other things after so many complaints. Look it up. Very shady!Angelica Cervantes

Berkeley's Newark campus is my main campus and I have had a great experience at the college. It is located near other campuses such as Rutgers Newark and NJIT so there is always something going on in the area. The Newark campus is much smaller than the other Berkeley campuses I've been to but it is a positive atmosphere where most of the faculty and staff are very helpful. Most of my professors are easily accessible by email or during their office hours and are glad to help. The only issue I have had was with advisement. I don't feel that they were very helpful when it came to helping me create my schedule and felt that I was on my own for the most part. I learned from my mistakes and have enjoyed the Berkeley College Experience overall.Angela Freeman

Lack of communication and professionalism. Horrible first experience just trying to see what the college was all about. Everyone i’ve came in contact with really turned me off. Taking personal phone calls in the middle of orientation, leaving me sitting in a room for long periods of time, didn’t really seem too interested in welcoming a future student. It was to the point the man constantly apologized for making me wait so long as he continued to talk to other people. I felt like a non priority at that moment since everything and anyone interrupted the “interview”. I had high hopes, now i’m second guessing, only because of the delivery of the admissions advisors.
