To be completely honest, she is one of the main reasons I want to attend Plaza. I have never seen a program/admissions assistant so eager to assistant you in making your career goals become reality. I visited as a new patient for a student dentist. It’s a new building with new equipment and most importantly clean environment. Everything takes much longer for a full overview of me teeth since she’s a student being examined. It’s nothing like having a normal dentist visit. She checked my blood pressure, pulse, even sited a small mole on my neck and gave me skin awareness and skin cancer advice. Then neck and jaw was checked and each tooth’s gum is measured and then x-rays! This was all done under the general supervision of professional and thorough Senior Dentist. Then time was up! I have visit again another day to finish with further study of each tooth, brushing technique and scaling I hope at the end!Farnoosh Famouri-Lee

Being a student at Plaza College was such an amazing journey! Starting in the Career Pathways Program, I worked my way up to earning a high GPA with the help of my amazing professors, peers, and faculty staff members. Additionally, participating in Student Life activities gave me the push to further my education in the Associates AND Bachelor's program for Business Administration & Management. Plaza College became a second home for me. I earned an amazing step as becoming a member and officer in the English honor society, Sigma Kappa Delta. A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. I say if you over 30 years like me this college is not for you. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. Love the QC CUNY campus along with free QC Red/CUNY black shuttle bus for students that has certain pick and drop off points . I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. One of its kinda school Historic place as it is more than 100 year old school CUNY’S most iconic campus so far As building is quite old, construction is going on still it’s worth taking a walk here Lush green gardens and beautiful library plus awesome walkways and old concert hall and other buildings. If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Does not actually teach anything, except the one time he was being evaluated. Does not respond to emails. Never comes on camera. Samuel Olagun- jeez where do I begin. Just do not take him. Gave the same grade to everyone in our group project even though 2 people did no work. They earned a free A. Overall the school is a nightmare and I am so happy that I have never had to step foot on this campus. They act like they are doing you a favor instead of their jobs. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. As F-1 visa international student, I would say that ASA College is a great place for our educational and career goals. Professors are responsive and very collaborative as well as helpful. During my education in ASA College I was able to make friends with students from different parts of world. The most of them are my lifetime friends now. Classes are not too big. Therefore, providing a tremendous opportunity to study and excel your knowledge and/or skills. I would recommend international students to study in ASA College if they want to be ready to compete within existing job market and get a job they are looking for. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. Maspeth High School is a hidden gem on the edge of Maspeth. The teachers here are pronominal and I can't stress my gratitude for being accepted to and graduating from here. Maspeth was like a second home to me because the staff here were extremely friendly and fair. My only issue stood with the uniform but to be entirely honest, I'm glad that Maspeth allows students to purchase their own clothing rather than enforcing a specific uniform as students can still express themselves through different patterned and colored button-ups.Mark Zajkowski

I'm going to miss Maspeth High School so much when I graduate. We went from having an unorganized staff to having the most professional and caring staff team. You can trust your child with our great teachers. Our teacher makes sure you understand the material being taught to you. I stayed at the Third Street shelter for a short time but I was profiled both as being white and Jewish. Quanda Delande, the woman in charge of this otherwise wonderful shelter with the kindest, sweetest, most hard working and helpful staff, gunned for me from the moment we met. She made anti-semitic comments and baited other residents to attack me, black residents, drunk residents, residents she told I was racist and when they did, I was the one who was forced to leave, along with my only friend in that shelter, who happened to be black. Quanda Dalande is a terrible person and it's terrifying that someone who hates the Jews she works for so much that it effects the way she runs a Jewish owned shelter. I considered suing but honestly, she is her own worse revenge and she knows it. You can catch her in knee high lace up 6 inch boots smoking in front of the shelter with the residents because not only is she evil, she is also trashy. The Parenting classes were wonderful when Ms.Baker was leading them. When Ms. Young took over as a director of the entire program she had no accountability for her actions. I reached out to her in Dec to check my progress to remain on track I didnt hear back from her until Feb. She never answered my email but reached out to My ACS worker. When I tried to recieve a valid explanation from Ms. Young she told me that they were in transition and she simply forgot. In turn this is your life and although I tried to be accountable on my own part I was hung up and spoke to very nasty. I will not be continuing classes with them. Regarding Summer Fun Saturdays at Dry Dock Playground, I think it is great that you host events for the community. However, I don't understand how having a dj blast music at the highest levels in a residential community is beneficial to all the senior citizens that live in the buildings that border this playground. Do not waste your money. This school is a rip-off. My daughter took the EKG and Phlebotomy courses and throughout both courses only received one day of clinical in each area and they were not full days of practice since the school does not use manikins and the students had to practice the phlebotomy on each other and they could not stick each other but so many times…smh. Upon completion, my daughter received the run around trying to get an internship, and during the one internship interview that she went on the doctor told her that she really did not have anything for her as she was just asked to take another intern who was a relative of someone at the school, but she didn't what to tell my daughter no over the phone. She just had her waste her time and gas so she could experience an interview and tell her no in person…really? The school looked like a waste of time from the beginning and I should have gone with my instincts and gone to a reputable program.B. Manuel

I did my ultrasound course from here and my experience was great . Dr. Ayub and his lectures was awesome and he is always there for you in any guidance or questions even after completion of the course. The good thing is that they give hospital internships placement which actually enrich our skill and opportunities to learn varieties of cases and makes you confident. After the completion of the course they also help you for job opportunities which is really helpful as a beginner. This is the best accredited medical school. HANDS DOWN!! At first I was a little skeptical with my choices but I thank God that I made the best decision. I want to say that the Allen School of Health Sciences wasn’t my first choice. I only wanted to get more information about the school. My daughter recommended this school to me. I came and spoke to Ms. Hunter about enrolling in classes. I passed my entrance exam with flying colors and enrolled in their four-week course. I paid off my tuition before classes started. Something came over me before starting that kept saying “I’m going to be a failure” and that I shouldn’t bother to go. I called the school to cancel and spoke with Ms. Zabida. She was very strong and shocked about my statement and said she was going to have Ms Hunter call me. I spoke to my husband who told me that a quitter won’t win and a winner never quits. Soon after Joy gave me a call and said “Ms. Bucknor you can’t quit, you have to reach your goal.” I then spoke with one of the directors, Robert. Rob gave me some great advice and we ended the discussion with “Happy Holiday and I will be seeing you on campus next week.” It made me so happy to speak with them. The nervousness did not go away because it was a long time since I sat in a classroom chair. I even had difficulty sleeping. But, with the help of my classmates and my instructor Ms. July I succeeded and completed the program with an A average! I want to thank my teacher, classmates, and husband for all the support. My experience at Sylvan was a positive one, in the sense that my daughter accomplished most of the goals that we had set for her. Her grades have improved tremendously, and she has moved from one of the bottom 10 to be in the top 5 students in her class. Her grade averages moved from lower 60's to mid 80's and 90's. William, the Rego Park center director is a stellar individual, who showed much enthusiasm for our daughter to excel, he made us feel like our daughter was the most important student of all, and Im sure the other parents felt the same, even though there were always a number of students at any given time. As parents we want our children to have all the necessary tools to excel in school.The Common Core curriculum has made this a very challenging task. The best decision I made was enrolling my daughter at the Sylvan Learning Center in Rego Park, NY. The staff are very well trained, professional and patient. My daughter's grades have improved tremendously, which has helped her build up her confidence. It is expensive but worth every penny. They work with you and offer a payment plan. My kids are 6 and 9, one was struggling with reading confidence and the other was behind in math. My 6 year old will end the school year on a 3rd grade reading level and my 9 year old has improved her grades over all (not just math). Don’t let the skills mastery distract from the overall learning goals. Parents still need to chip in and make sure your kids are involved. This school is garbage. They can’t even find teachers who want to teach here and when they do they might not even have a degree or know what they’re talking about. (GOOGLE GOES A LONG WAY) the teachers have nasty attitudes specifically Ms dascher who has been there a few years so they won’t fire her. Don’t mind making a complaint to the director it’ll get ignored. Mr Okundaye who brings his personal problems to school and tries to make you miserable right along with him (again no disciplinary action when my whole class told the school he’s a horrible teacher) They are probably all mad from the low salary they receive since the school is federally funded. They don’t care about your success… just that a behind is in a chair so they can get paid. One thing though ms Nicholas the math teacher is brilliant!!! They got one star for me solely because of her. The rest of you suck and I’m not bringing your books back. Peace.Tayla Boyd

BEOC is a very good school, they have TASC Program nursing tech, micro soft, college readiness. ect..i've learned a lot already in a short time . the teacher works with you in your level, and if you don't understand your class work they'll assign you to a tutor. The tutor are friendly and helpful, they help you understand the work you need help in. BEOC also has an attain lab with and ISI or AZTEC, in this Lab you can work on your own, and brush up on your weak points. the lab coordinators are also very helpful. if you need any other help with your work ,you can ask the lab coordinator or the advisor to set up a buddy group, these buddy groups are helpful because it allow you to learn from others and visaversa you can' go wrong . i have a lot of tools i can use to better myself .luz solla

Still waiting for the OSHA 30 Certificate class to start since January. They make you sign up online (really hard to navigate btw) to notify me when classes start. fast forward until today….Still no updates. I constantly try to email the offices and they keep telling me the same thing "classes do not start yet" for like the 12th time now through out the last 3 month. It would be more convenient if there were a date to look forward to or give me a more honest reason as to why there arent any classes yet. Very unsatisfiedronald bernal

The teaching method is very unorthodox as the students are only fed with work upon work without ever taking real practice SAT exams. The reviews online are all a hoax and does not reflect the true nature of this place. I recommend anyone who plans on going here to be skeptical and cautious about the decisions they make.Alon Sada

This tutor center has made me more interested in the classes I'm taking. It made my life so much easier when I get one on one teaching from the teachers I feel less pressured in pretending to understand a subject and I'm able to feel comfortable to ask any question I want in this environment.Kat Kat

My children came here to do SAT prep and the teachers did a very good job. They provided my children with a lot of material and explained it very throughly. I don't know any other test prep places with the same qualifications that prepare students as well as ClarityEd did.Katy McCormick

I was a student at Grace Outreach back in 2016 – 2017. I graduated with my HSE (Completed all 5 tests (reading, writing, math, social studies, science) on the TASC Exam). They charge a one time fee and give you a calculator for the Math Exam. They also interview you to see if you are serious about sticking with the school, until completion or until its your time to graduate. So, do be serious about attending classes daily unless there is an emergency. They also give out vouchers to students with medical issues to take the elevators, so, be mindful if you don't have a voucher then you will be taking the stairs am I and many students have. My experience was a positive one and I really retained a lot of information more than any of the schools that I attended in New York. The school is absolutely great and have very encouraging teachers! They allow every student to focus on only the subjects they need and do not make students repeat any subjects they passed like previous schools I enrolled in have. The staff is wonderful and I am certain that now their has been some changes due to the pandemic to give students options for virtual classes. There is even a College Prep Program that they have (I personally attended), which really helped me to prepare for College and the exams. There are 3 exams that every student must take to enter college (reading, writing, math (includes College Algebra as well that I hope the school has incorporated in this program)). I highly recommend student to attend. There are even Career Prep help and/or training programs for students too. This means help with resumes, cover letters, elevator pitches, and even help in obtaining certificates in training such as I have obtained "Customer Service Training & Mavis Typing Speed Certificates", to name a few. And many successful people have visited the school as well, talking about their accomplishments and gives students the opportunity to even possibly work with certain companies like the abc News, etc. Also, be mindful that this is an all WOMEN'S Adult School BUT I did hear that the director of the school wanted to expand on an all MEN'S school, (which I think is a wonderful idea and really helps to prevent any distractions between the opposite sex, etc). I recommend Men and Women call this school for more information (there may be even more programs and other opportunities for jobs and school). I certainly recommend students attend if they want to quickly learn and pass their exams and obtain their High School Equivalency (HSE) diplomas. Especially if students want to continue to further their education and attend college with greater Career goals in mind. Also, NEVER BE DISCOURAGED if you do not pass your exams or if it takes a bit longer than you need, every student works at a different pace, but are all capable of passing if you take studying these subjects seriously. I have no doubt that anyone can pass these exams and go beyond in developing a great future because the environment I was in here was so positive, that it made many students like myself want to stay. I gave 4 stars because I think there can be more improvements in certain areas for the College Prep Program from what I remember, but maybe they have made some changes already, (It has been 7 years since I have been there). Overall, this is a GREAT SCHOOL for anyone, so please at least look into it and see if its the right fit for you, which I have no doubt that it is. 🙂Ari “Fury”

Looking through all of my important papers I came across my ged from 2008. I immediately started to reminisce my days at Grace Outreach. I remember Ms. Zeeky and another person at the front desk. The first time I took the test I failed and was so broken about it and had to wait 60 days to retake the test. As much as I wanted to give up every one pushed for me to study non stop and made sure I was ready to take the test again with a guarantee passing. The day I called to find out my test score and the machine answered and said I passed I couldn’t contain my happiness. I overdid myself with the test the second time around. It was a mission but the teachers at grace have a passion to help you succeed and I love that about them, they will be a little strict and on top of you but it’s only because they know what you’re capable of, they give everything they do 100%+! Thank you Grace Outreach. Highly highly recommended place for anyone looking to get their GED without feeling like you’re back in high school.Geraldine Valerio

I went to Grace Outreach in 2016 for TASC and college prep. I learned so much from my time there and it has greatly impacted me as a person till this day. Great teachers and amazing people. Arlet taught me about writing and I always sat in her room for lunch and made sure to say bye to her before I left annnnnd I still think of her lectures even in college right now when I am writing a paper. Zeke is hilarious and made math fun. She expects participation but it honestly got me out of my shell. And it hammered the material in my head. I lowkey felt like a human calculator haha! Liz is an angel, made me feel so comfortable yet pushed me out of my comfort zone with public speaking (I am an anxious lady) and Gabriel, just a cool dude and great support during college prep. And so much more, it will be too long. Like, I am soooo very grateful and thankful. I miss everyone there and hope you all are well!!!Julissa Hernandez

I know someone that is really loving the sense of community and care that happens there. It's a great reason to leave the house and meet others in the community with a positive outlook on life. I'm not completely sure way the seniors trip schedule includes a trip to "The Casino" but it is what it is. Check it out for yourself and tell all what you think.Courtney Prescott
