As a non-traditional student, I found EOU big enough to offer all the classes I needed to complete an Ant/Soc degree, but intimate enough that professors knew me by name and gave me extra assistance with completing my educational goals. I WAS A PERSON AND NOT JUST A STUDENT ID NUMBER. The campus is safe – I had no concerns walking at night, it has plenty of lighted walkways, and parking lots. I attended EOU for three years and really appreciate the school. It's quality professors (most were great with only a few exceptions), small class sizes, and affordable tuition make it one of the best bang for your buck colleges in the country. They also have quality sports programs, tons of resources to help students succeed academically, and even help students find employment when they graduate.Zane Smith

I had the privilege of experiencing this wonderful college through my sons when they participated in Kids@Carroll/Teen College summer programs! In 2012 our friend, who’s a chemistry teacher, let us know he’d be holding a science/magic summer camp there. My sons began attending that year and didn’t stop until they aged out! CCC was always a highlight of their childhood summers and I am forever grateful. The enrichment and education they received time and time again at such well put together programs with high quality instructors was unmatchable! They enjoyed many of Ken Ecker’s art camps and they still keep in touch with him today! He even makes it a point to wish them each a Happy Birthday every year! He’s such a radically genuine person and an amazing artist! And he still teaches adult and youth programs when he comes down from NYC! He’s simply the best! I always loved how the art camps would culminate with a beautiful art show for parents and friends to attend! I have so many photos on my digital frame from those days and cherish the memories! My sons also enjoyed CCC electrical engineering, geography, Star Wars, and veterinary CSI camps (those involved great field trips to vet hospitals, The Humane Society, and a horse rescue; the students also learned how to suture bananas). 🙂 Thanks, CCC, for all you do to promote education, not just for adults but for youth as well.Sophia Christina Maroulis-Castro

This school is so far behind. You can barley navigate to important information (which there is little of) online, staff has sent me in so many different directions that I can’t even keep track. They haven’t processed my loan even though it’s been turned in for two months before the deadline, classes have started, I don’t have my books and they haven’t approved my funding so my classes still aren’t paid for. This is so frustrating for anyone trying to start a career path. It’s so unhelpful. I can’t believe how much help they advertise when there is actually little to none And to mention they tried putting me in all the wrong classes for the major I’m going for!!!!Samantha Brock

Instructors are usually amazing. Face a lot of microagressions from entry level staff like the new barista and other cafeteria employees but that doesn’t cancel out the teachers who want you to succeed and truly love the subjects they teach. The staff in the library usually make my day. Financial aid staff can be rude, I would say it’s good to have someone advocate for you if you get sick during the quarter to not deal with the different personalities you can meet. Don't ever go to this college. I was 19 in 1986 and they were supposed to give me my diploma. In high school I only had 2 credits to go. I was in the high school program. The school forced me to take out a lone at the end of the term, which I didn't get the money a state carectional drug cancellor got the money. Then I was told I was too stooped to continue college, So they kicked me out. I had 24 credits that I can never use and no diploma I had to get my GED when I was 30. Everything this college did to me was illegal and Everything the people who have tryed to callect the money has been illegally done a lot of them told me over the phone how the way everythig happened was illegal. The lone was 1,400.00 now it is 10,000.00. I have paid the 1,400.00 back many times they even took my boyfriends taxes when we first got together. I have proff but they keep equnoring it. Even the people who work for the collection agency's have told me what to write and send to get the issue fixed and they have no problem ruining a life. The school and the collection agaseys have broken the law and. I'm going to have to send all my evadence to Grege Walden and pray he will halp me. If you people were smart don't go to this college don't believe a word they say. It ruined my life. The college and bank both forged my name to different papers and the school broke a lot of laws. I was never to take out a lone legally. I didn't have no diploma, no GED, They issued the loan at the end of the term which I here was illegal as well. For the most part I enjoyed my time at the school. Beautiful campus and amazing instructors. The problem I have is with the Financial Aid and other support staff. I once watched them belittle a 4.0 student for attending school. They are completely disorganized and will lose paper work, and then charge you late fees when they fail to properly apply grants and aid. They are very rude to students who ask for help even going as far as tell students that the should drop-out. All-in-all if you are paying out of pocket and have several thousand a year to burn, its a great college. If you are use any sort of aid, be prepared for a nightmare and disrespect. This place is not really a collage. You spend your money on a collage course and yet they play mind games and ditch you before you arrive on time to your class, You only waste your time playing their mind games and yet you find yourself abandoned after a few weeks realizing you have been cheated out of everything you worked for and your text books are really a sick joke with a lot missing pages ripped out and the book falling a part, and you find yourself heading to the local homeless shelter when no body is qualified for housing nor student aid. I love learning, so most of the classes I took at BC were pretty good. Nothing was too difficult. Most teachers were great, especially Nutrition and CPR/Health Safety. There is however, one teacher you should avoid at all costs. Her name is Leanne Kunders (Leed) in the Allied Health department. I watched her break the law with respect to disabled students, which was appalling. She makes up her own rules w regards to laws. She is a mediocre teacher who blames her students for her problems. She retaliates against students who ask for their disability rights. She clearly can't teach and has no patience for any of her students who ask questions because she doesn't know the answer. Her tests are full of mistakes and mispellings and then she'll tell the class how important it is to be detail oriented. Yeah, if only I had someone to be my mentor and an example. Not my instructor, of course. She'll front load a class for no good reason with tons of meaningless work, then leave the last month practically empty. Very poor organization. And then she'll tell students they need to be more organized. Very funny! She's a sorry excuse for a role model. Do the opposite of what she does and you'll be ok. Lastly, Leanne will whine for half the class about her problems instead of teaching. BC must be really hard up for instructors to take this sorry excuse for a teacher. Yawn! —Love this college!!— Very good design program and amazing internship after all the trouble I went at another small school. Initially I started at Art Institute of Seattle but they accepted me without asking for any essay or portfolio which was already unusual. Then advisors started disappearing from the office until school announced that closing permanently in the middle of the quarter. I was terrified to lose my F1 Visa status. Last person left in International Office told me to leave the country within 14 days if I can't get enroll in another college. I couldn't believe it was happening for real in the US. But Bellevue College saved me. They accepted me in a few days and transferred all my immigration records within grace period. I was able to get an amazing internship this summer and company just offered me a permanent job. Forever grateful to my advisors and great professors!Kim Su

I strongly detest private education with instructors reading out of textbooks which certainly does occur at this institution, however, the majority of professors provide the state curriculum mixed with their own style making for an enjoyable experience. Organic chemistry, Psychology, Biology/Microbiology all get special shoutouts for their dedication and commitment to excellence providing the highest caliber of education while also being accessable after hours through email or on-site locations. Pre-req classes as always are definitely a scam in American education. All 100 level classes not applicable for your degree are a waste of very precious resources and unreturnable time. Online courses are as expected although I do enjoy that online requires much more work. I love studying extra and being challenged to accomplish more from less. First off, it is an institute of technology, not a university. NASA applications say "Technology institute graduates need not apply." NASA isn't alone in this. I had 5 different advisors by the end of my 1st month. No one could be bothered. My final advisor was the department chair, and when he "helped" me sign up for 3 classes, 1 was class was held in Washington, and another class wasn't even scheduled for that term, so I was left with one class that term. The next term, like the term before, I needed a unique password to register for classes. Only problem was the only person who could give me the password, my advisor, was on vacation. I had to talk with his superiors to get him to reply to my email for the password. When he replied, he had an attitude. This kind of think happened in so many different ways, I just washed my hands of this school. It took them 3 terms just to get me my student ID card. Anytime I had a academic, not scholastic, question, it usually takes about 2 hours of being bounced around from building to building, often the same buildings, having to talk to the same people, because no one can be bothered. Eventually after the 3rd time of me coming back to someone to ask the same question, I'll get a big sigh and finally an answer.Tim DuDD

OIT is a great school of Engineering. Pros 1- Average students in the class between 10 to 25, so that is very good to ask and participate as well as most of the professors can easily recognize each student. 2- Reasonable professors. 3- OIT located in Klamath City which is small and cheap town. 4- Easy to get high grade if you do all your HW, NO absent , more participation. 5 – Library stuff is very helpful. 6- Safe and good place to study in. 7- US News classified Oregon Tech as one of the best five universities. Cons: 1- Library hours are very terrible. 2- Klamath City is not active city, after 7 pm every one dies. 3- There is nothing to do if you have free time except outdoor activities. 4- Heath Center is really wasteful.Mohammed Asiri

I've worked at four public universities across the country, and Oregon Tech has the most engaged and dedicated faculty and staff I've ever encountered. Students benefit from small class sizes and many opportunities for hands-on applied learning. Students I assist in Career Services are focused, dedicated and mature. The administration is proud of being career-focused but also recognizes the benefits of teaching soft skills. Oregon Tech is also increasing its emphasis on providing students with experiences that will translate to exceptional workplace skills, like working on cross functional student team projects. I went to the campus that is located in Beaverton and they are a building off site of the campus but have a Transit center right directly across from the campus making it very convenient for anyone that would like to take that versus driving and paying parking however the parking was free for me that day the campus grounds are very clean and I felt safe by the security and overall feel. there was not a lot of people at all as they are being very very careful with restrictions on covid. I attended a class for testing on the GED and they were very careful to not expose or compromise anyone's health so be prepared and warned now to be current on their covid restrictions and policiesHeather Chick Hawes

It was such a beautiful day I had gone to Sheridan's Market. Which, I have to say, is one of the best places I've found in Portland since moving here 8 years ago. I decided to go and sit under the trees in the Park blocks. I read the first chapter of "The Body Keeps the Score" with the work book. If you know someone or you yourself suffer from PTSD. It is an amazing read and helps so much. Dogs were roaming though the park with their owners. Runners everywhere. Just overall an amazing day.Bradley Renfeldt-King

The instructors are variable, with limited on-campus opportunities compares to places like OSU/UO/WSU/UW. If you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or Cal University.Cody

I have been trying to see a counselor, and so far I have come to the counseling department more than five times. Anytime I went there, they said that there are a lot of students so go come back tomorrow at 8:00 am. When I went there at 8:00 am the next day, they said oh we don't do walk ins, you can go today, but for tomorrow give us a call to confirm if there is any counselor available. I did call them the day before coming they said yes come around 8:00 am you will for sure see a counselor, I got there at 8:00 am, but unfortunately again they said that there are a lot of students and they only have one counselor. I don't know what game do they play with students, I missed going to work for 3 days, and it seems that I might not be able to take any classes this summer just because of not being able to see a counselor. I request the authorities of this nice college to pay attention to this problem, and find some possible ways of solution since the students need to have updated Educationan Plans.Tawfiq Sediqi

This college is a freaking mess and very unorganized!!!! Fist visit, they told me counseling was open until 4:30pm. Got there at 3:34pm and said they stop at 3pm. They told me to come back tomorrow and they will do counseling till 4pm. I got early from work the nex day, and when I get to the counseling office, they said they are not doing counseling today! They tell me to come back tomorrow. They couldn't take appointments because they were too busy that week. I come back the next day, my job let me get off early again, when I get to the counseling they tell me their system is down! They tell me to come back on Saturday for the event. They tell me counseling and student services will be open. I'm here at the counseling at 10am, they freaking tell me no counselors today, they are only taking picture for IDS !!!! I took a neighborhood stroll with my two kids and we ended up walking through the campus. Wow! Green with more green and located above the mighty Umpqua River, this small but we'll appointed campus seems to have it all. My daughter mentioned that she intends to take some classes there and that it's just minutes to walk from her home. Gorgeous campus, my goodness. We all felt safe walking thru, it was easy to navigate and get from building to building. And how about that pool huh?! This was the last school in the world I wanted to attend, but having 3 school aged kids and a limited available schedule, I found that it was my only option. Upon enrolling I realized just how nice the school is. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and are always willing to help in any way they can. The education isn't mediocre either. I've met people that have transferred to a 4 yr. college from RACC and they told me some classes from RACC were more demanding and difficult that the ones they took in the 4 yr. college. Lastly, the cost of education at this school is very cheap, especially if you take in to consideration the quality level of education you receive while in attendance. If you're looking for a school to do minimal work just to receive a degree, this isn't the school for you (They expect you to work for your grades). However, if you're looking for a good school, with knowledgeable teachers and staff, a quality education that stands up to the rest, and tuition that doesn't cost a fortune; this school is exactly what you've been looking for! I went to RACC for my associates and ALL the staff became a family for me. I love this place from day one. They were all very supportive and respectful. I happened to work at the security department under the work study program and I had the best supervisor anyone could ask for. Carmen Medina was a mother yo me. She was very supportive and empowering. Stacy was like a sister to me. Always keeping me smiling and always encouraging me. My coworkers were always supportive and patient with me. They trained me well and I was with them even after I graduated. I am so grateful for my RACC family. RACC Is affordable and their curriculum is very well designed to prepare you for the bachelors. Danelle Bower is a great instructor and Dr Blakely. They prepare students to think outside the box. This school really sucks. It is for students who have no choice but to go to that school. Almost half the campus is on some kind of academic probation. The staff is not really helpful like they say they are. Only a small percentage of professors and staff really care about the students. The school tends to make decisions with the students money and spend it, without the current students knowledge. Parking is horrible at this campus and security is very minimal. So If you are looking for a safe, secure, educational environment where people actually respect you and care about your education. This is not the place for you. As an adult student using the GI Bill, I think this was the perfect way for me to get back into the swing of college again. The instructors are way overqualified in most cases, and I think it is shameful that most of them have to work at multiple colleges in the area in order to pay their bills. The cost for students is a great value. The buildings have all been updated and I think are great. I really enjoyed coming here. I ended up with 2 associates degrees when I left here. The cafeteria when I was here was not good. Horrible food that was too salty for the most part. The section that helps Veterans maneuver the funding was questionable at times, but the area for Veterans to hang out or study was pretty darn awesome. Parking can be tight depending on the time of day.Andrea F

The Oregon City Campus is beautiful! The one stand out regarding education at CCC is the faculty care about their students. CCC is also the most economical Community College in the state. Some points of interest would be the Environmental Learning Center. What a fabulous place to view wildlife, native plants and meander peacefully around the paths. Parking is close. You can meander another 2.1 miles around the perimeter of the college on a wide path. Most is paved, the remainder is finely crushed compacted gravel, so pushing a pram or pulling a wagon full of little ones is easy. Many spots are shaded for you true Oregonian 🙂Karen M

The department dealing with transcripts is very unprofessional and rude. I have been trying for four months to get three copies of my transcript. They sent one although I put 3 where it asked how many. I mailed in another request for two more. I never received them. I emailed the admissions department to see what happened. They responded back asking where to send it and I responded. However, I never received them. I then called and was told to do another request. I did another request in September. I just spoke with them only to tell me that they sent only one again on October 3rd. Her reason was because I only had one place listed to send and she didn't see why they would need two copies. So I then had to explain that it was going to the same place. Once received, the department would see to it that all three committee members got a copy. I shouldn't have had to explain that since on the request I asked for two. Furthermore more it's not for her to know why! What's the purpose of putting the number needed on the form if they only send the number they feel should be sent. No where on the transcript request does it ask why you need them. It just ask how many. I now have to send off another request for the third one. By the time I request another one and wait for it in the mail, it will be past the deadline at my job. I will have to wait until next year. This has been four months of nonsense.Khai Shade

I have tried to reach someone by phone in Human Resources for several days. No messages returned. The automatic greeting message tell you to press the # key to speak with an operator. You never speak to an operator which I am sure is by design. It just keeps reporting the options which no one answers! You call any other professional business you are at least able to speak with an operator. This gives a harbinger of the type of administration you will have to deal with if they answer the phone or you show up in person. Had awful experiences in past attempting to get transcripts. I love the friendly atmosphere in this college! Staff are nice and kind, everyone is eager to help. Tarted at the door during the orientation every staff member was smiling and welcoming, I felt the passion of the speakers, they didn't want the new students to go wondering about what they should do. I attending this college to complete some prerequisites for the graduate school, so I am not the regular type of students. I'd like to think that because of Covid, there is a lack of help from this college. I have been trying my very best for the last month to do everything myself without the help from any employees at this college. I have not been contacted regarding how to get enrolled, registered, what classes I need, financial aid, etc. I have been struggling since I have submitted my application to this college. You basically have to figure out everything on your own which isn't hard for me to do because I was walked through the steps from my previous college who actually took the time to help me out. While I understand quite a few things, there are some things that I don't understand and that I have questions about but getting into contact with anyone at this college is very difficult. Even through emails, no one responds. This college lacks the skill for helping their future students. I believe that I have done everything necessary in order to be a student but getting in touch with a counselor is the biggest problem. Making an appointment with a counselor via zoom, is quite a struggle and I have messaged quite a few employees at the college but yet, I still haven't received any responses. I am about to give up and just try somewhere else although this college is very convient for me, it's not worth the struggle and hassle at this point. 😔Mary McDonald

Great atmosphere. Their financial aid office needs help though. I started my fasfa around May and I'm trying to get in for the fall. I sat down with the students that help you with the fasfa form online so I don't do it wrong. I had to wait for them to approve it. They told me to bring my parents IRS info, even though I used the retrieval tool. I had to do a dependent verification form. Turned in copies of those. Then asked for my W-2. Then they asked for another verification form. Just constantly asking me for things I turned in. It sometimes takes them weeks to let you know what's next. So I learned the hard way the previous year that they ask for these forms every semester. They didn't tell me until I was applying for another semester. First year student trying to figure them out. I lived in El Cajon when they were asking for forms making this process extra annoying. Apparently they had to restart the process for the new semester. Don't ask me why but this is the most annoying part of school. I advise making multiple copies of whatever they ask for IRS FORMS, W-2, AND TAX INFO. They'll ask for it next semester and start it months before to avoid lines. I'm grateful there is a financial office though or school would be ROUGH! Thank you. EDIT: THEY MOVED TO A 270PERSONAL

City College is represented by the San Diego transit people, MTS, as City College Trolley Station, a cave, possibly Plato's, remarkable for grime and an expansive range of social behaviors not common in the quiet halls of ivy and higher education. The City College Trolley Station, is, of course, the gateway of San Diego's always expanding skidrow that could be seen as starting here and continuing to 25th and Commercial. San Diego and the real estate community promotes skidrow as being the East Village, but it's not really so much a village as it is a refugee camp. And it is getting bigger every day and will one day engulf all of downtown and possibly as far into the neighborhoods as Hillcrest and North Park. The instructors are great. The office staff and financial aid department is a joke. I have been a student for over 3 years and am almost ready to graduate, and I have been asked to fill out form after form every year, even though my household information has not changed. Even though a person fills out a FASFA, they will make you fill out more forms to "make sure the FASFA is correct". I filled it out and checked it, of course it's correct. I just think the financial aid office needs to find a way to keep their jobs. I went in first thing in the morning and still waited over 15 minutes for a financial aid lady to call me back. Why?, because they were to busy talking with each other about non-work related stuff. I could here their whole conversation. So while a person attending college (that secures their employment) waits to be helped, they just sit on their butts and talk. Terrible service. Then their books that are used for certain classes are printed with just the chapters needed for a particular class, printed on regular paper, have a 3 hole punch, and sold wrapped in plastic. The books are terribly expensive (another way for them to make tons of money). You are expected to pay for a 3 ring binder, and on top of it they won't buy it back at the end of the term. So you are stuck with an expensive stack of papers (that they call a book) and can't resell anywhere. The classes are expensive. Financial aid is put on a Higher One card (which is also a joke) and fees have to be paid to withdraw the money from the card, unless you go to the atm located at the college. Also, the atm at the college doesn't have 24 hour access. Their solution is for me to get a bank account to have it transferred, but then I have to pay bank fees because there isn't money going into the account every month. I have to tell you, do not waste your time attending Rogue Community College. I rent my books now from an outside source and have saved tons. I seriously am contemplating transferring to another college just so I don't have to deal with them anymore, and that way it drops their graduation rate and retention rate down even lower! Look at this college success rate, it speaks volumes!Christal McNair

I have been a student twice, once in 1991 for the Automotive Specialist Certificate and the second time in 2011 For the Web Development Degree. The early courses in 1991 were taught by very experienced people from their industry. The course was tailored with feedback from the local businesses. After graduation I actually won a national award from ASE for the highest composite score in the nation for a student. Yes, me a one year certificate holder from RCC scored higher than all the students from other trade schools and colleges that year taking their certificate test for the first time. It was very easy to find good work if you hustled a bit, because the course was not fancy, but laid a solid foundation to build off of. So when I was injured after many years I went back with high expectations. The second time in 2011 for the degree in web development was much less focused on what the industry needed and taught by people with little to no experience in the field. A lot of what we had to learn was not what would help get a job or pass any type of industry certification. It was more a transfer degree, that lacked any sort of basic focus. We learned a little about a lot, some several years out of date, without much focus on knowing the basics well. The program has since been scrapped. My guess is because almost no one I graduated with can find work with what they took away from RCC in that program. To top it off I even applied for several entry level positions with RCC when I could not find a job elsewhere and they do tend to look down on their own degrees, wanting 4 years or more. As far as some instructors go, they run their classes beautifully, but the school is a waste of time. They capitalize on the idea that they're the only continued education facility in the valley, which is true for the most part. The alternatives are online courses which may not suit everyone's needs. Trying to get financial aid for the first time was appalling, Just skip the TRiO office (where i was first directed to) as they waste your time with useless paperwork, give you no deadlines, and can be the reason you go an entire year without financial aid. The courses themselves are way too expensive for a community/junior college, again, capitalizing on having a monopoly on higher education. You often pay upwards of 360-400 for a 3 credit core class before books and supplies. The counseling department is useless, they tend to just repeat themselves, even if you ask on futher clarification. Their record keeping is flawed (i spent 3 hours waiting to talk to someone in the financial aid office about a payment and they have no record of it) They contradict themselves. For example, telling you if you miss any of the first two weeks of a course you WILL be dropped then turn around and charge you for a class you never attended stating that they don't always drop you. they fees are ridiculous the office is completely unwillng to help you and even if you play by their rules they still get their money by other means (like your tax returns or garnishing your wages) If you can find away around this establishment, i recommend it. If online school works for you i advise you go there instead, because this was the most frustrating 3 years of my life.Confused Beaver

Difficulties with one of the financial assistance representative. She wasn’t very helpful and was rude. My daughter completed all the necessary financial aid paperwork weeks ago including myself turning in the IRS and financial documents needed for her to apply for financial aid. Jordan, the financial assistance staff wasn’t very willing to answer questions and ended up hanging up on my daughter never to answer the phone again. She received an email indicating she didn’t meet the deadline to begin school this quarter. She had turned in all documents multiple times. We escalated the situation to leader ship and the financial aid issues were quickly resolved and my daughters account was placed on hold so that she is able to get into school this quarter. After more consideration, we have chosen to pursue education at Seattle Central CC, this school is not the right fit for us. We all have to remember that when we are taking roles and employment and helping the community and serving others, we truly have to feel that way inside. We really have to have empathy and compassion and love for others and working a role where people are going to need your help and ask questions. It takes patience. And if you don’t have that, maybe you should consider a different career. Seattle Central community college has taken my daughter on and she really enjoyed her teachers and her class and I think that was the best choice.Aisha Pleasant

I attend Everett Community College online. I love the school but the financial aid disbursements are a pain. I am pleading with the school to please offer direct deposit to ALL of their students. Today I had to drive around to cash the paper check they send to out of state students. My bank could not cash it immediately because it would be a two day wait for verification purposes. Well, I need my money today to purchase my books. I went to 6 different locations to try to cash the check. They all said they were unable to verify the check with the school. At Speedy Cash, one lady was looking at me like I was a thief. She has never heard of Everett Community College or a disbursement check. I just sighed, grabbed my check and walked out. Finally, my last stop was Ace Cash Express and they gave me no hassle but charged me $80 to cash it. I left the house at 10:00 am and did not arrive home until after 1:00 p.m. In all it took me almost three hours to try to cash a paper check and deposit it into my bank card. So much time wasted trying to cash a paper check.Val Sc.

I would not recommend this school to anyone especially international students. They created new policy that new international students need to live in the dorm that will be finished in Fall quarter at least 2-3 quarters. (EXCEPT students who are under 18, have relatives or legal parents here, or disable). I don't see any good reason for this policy. Why do you have to force us to stay in your expensive building? If it cheaper than other apartments around there, I wouldn't be offended. Their expensive classes are not worth it. The staffs are good but some are not, they are not professional. If I can turn back time, I wouldn't waste my time and money here.Phanwara R.

Word of advice: try and transfer out of this ghetto school as soon as possible. It'll save you the headache. TAKE ONLINE CLASSES! That way, you will not have to deal with their crap. The only good thing you'll find about this school is the cheap tuition, some good professors if you can find the right ones. So far, I managed to have good ones. And a few nice students along the way. But the unprofessional, unorganized with the admins, staff, etc is a nightmare. I'm speaking from experience with the financial aid and trying to sign up for classes. They act like they don't know what they're doing. Not to mention, you try to be friendly and they give you attitude like you did something wrong. Plus, the staff and admins are incredibly immature and straight up bullies. When you ask for help, they will act irritated, rude or expect you to it yourself. You know that you are going to be around students all day long, and if that is something you cannot handle or deliver civil professionalism, then why are you working here to begin with? Oh yeah, because they just hire anybody, and just hungry for a paycheck. Oh and also, people just tell you different answers or just straight up lie to you. If I had the choice, I would not spend another semester here for another minute. They really need to do something about this ghetto, unprofessional, unorganized, low class school and hire better admins, staff, etc too. I'll be so glad when I'm able to leave this school because I will not miss it. I'm sticking to my statement that Virginia schools are better. Also, another thing to add is that the advisers do not know how to do their jobs! They are just there for the title, so know what YOU want and YOUR plan, because these advisers will just tell you anything. In addition, they will act so conceited to make you look stupid. That's why I'm going with my own plan, and I can't wait to leave this school in the spring of 2018. It has been nothing but very poor. They just want your money. This school is nothing but a joke. I hated this college including all staffs, administration and president of this college I had many issues with back when I was attending this college. Yes, I graduated in 2004, made very high grades and achieve my goals, but the President of this college did nothing about my situation. She failed to do her job claiming that she will not bar a student for harassing me. She is very lucky I did not sue her before I graduated. Other people has complained about allowing non-visitors attending to this school for no reason. This brings a major concern about safety. I would advise no one attend to this school. It sure has very poor administration. I do not care what that president said, she is a very poor administrator. I am glad I am moving out of this state and I will be a excellent administrator this president of this college. We need to hire new administrators in this college and make changes in this college and other schools. I wonder why there are so many bad reviews about this school. It's not as bad as I thought or as I read. Yes, I did have a bad impression at first because I was supposed to take four courses, now I'm taking three because of their carelessness. But that's the only problem I've encountered here. My professors are good. I read bad reviews about the financial aid also but there was no problem with my financial aid and everything went smoothly. Overall, this school is not so bad. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. A diverse student base, some of whom had immigrated to America shortly before enrolling, also makes tailoring a viable solution difficult. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. Very diverse. You can see all kind of people over here. Most of the students and staff are friendly. Environment is good. Friendly neighborhood. If you are hungry, you can find all types of food around the building. It has 26000 student. It also has a big cafeteria, big library, big quiet study place for study and a lot more . We went the the opening game and it was alright. This was our first Ducks game and we didn't know where to park or any of the rules. Unfortunately, the people who were directing traffic and explaining things didn't seem to have the information. We tried several places, only to find lots full two hours before the game and the price was different at each. Granted, we could have researched this better. Then, we got our tickets and tried to enter and first they said we had to purchase a clear bag for my wife's purse, then we were told there was one bag check line for the whole stadium. We finally did make it in to find our seats were bleachers and the unrully crowd in front of us were determined to stand the whole game and ruin the view. Maybe some day we will give it another try.Mike Balcavage

First time back here since I graduated in 2015. Sometimes all you need in life is a stroll down memory lane to tell you where you were, where you are now, how far you’ve come in the time in between.
