I went to Delaware County Community College part time for four years after high school. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I really didn't know what I wanted to do right out of high school and I didn't want to go to a super expensive university and still not be sure. I started out with general studies. I just finished my Liberal Arts associate's degree there this past spring. I enjoyed my time at this school. I got to take a lot of different classes to really figure out what I like and what I dislike, and it's way more affordable to do that here. The campus is beautiful, especially the STEM center. There's lots of helpful services and the professors I had were great. I'm now transfering to another school to study graphic design and I feel like DCCC helped me get on the right track. I would highly recommend this school to everyone!Natalie Cellini

The cost isn't horrible and the classes are similar to classes offered by four year universities. The problems I have lie with the administration (financial aid, career center, cashier office.) They do not know how to deal with students in a timely, concise manner. I was unable to get in and complete a single course for the last two years due to administrative problems, even though I had been with them previously. I would recommend having another school lined up in case you find yourself in the same boat.Akiba Perry

I went here from fresh out of high school from 2016-2019 and graduated there with my associates. Such a Beautiful campus and I had a very great experience at DCCC, I’ve had some pretty good professors during my time there although some did seem to only be there for a check. During my time here I was also in the KEYS program and they have such wonderful staff very helpful and friendly. They have a nice library and the food in the cafeteria is really good too.Nicole Flood

This was the last school in the world I wanted to attend, but having 3 school aged kids and a limited available schedule, I found that it was my only option. Upon enrolling I realized just how nice the school is. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and are always willing to help in any way they can. The education isn't mediocre either. I've met people that have transferred to a 4 yr. college from RACC and they told me some classes from RACC were more demanding and difficult that the ones they took in the 4 yr. college. Lastly, the cost of education at this school is very cheap, especially if you take in to consideration the quality level of education you receive while in attendance. If you're looking for a school to do minimal work just to receive a degree, this isn't the school for you (They expect you to work for your grades). However, if you're looking for a good school, with knowledgeable teachers and staff, a quality education that stands up to the rest, and tuition that doesn't cost a fortune; this school is exactly what you've been looking for! I went to RACC for my associates and ALL the staff became a family for me. I love this place from day one. They were all very supportive and respectful. I happened to work at the security department under the work study program and I had the best supervisor anyone could ask for. Carmen Medina was a mother yo me. She was very supportive and empowering. Stacy was like a sister to me. Always keeping me smiling and always encouraging me. My coworkers were always supportive and patient with me. They trained me well and I was with them even after I graduated. I am so grateful for my RACC family. From financial aid staff, admission office, work study program coordinator Kim livingood, the student lab on Berks hall. To Maria at the front desk. Librarians, I love my GED teacher Maria Perez. RACC Is affordable and their curriculum is very well designed to prepare you for the bachelors. Danelle Bower is a great instructor and Dr Blakely. They prepare students to think outside the box. This school really sucks. It is for students who have no choice but to go to that school. Almost half the campus is on some kind of academic probation. The staff is not really helpful like they say they are. Only a small percentage of professors and staff really care about the students. The school tends to make decisions with the students money and spend it, without the current students knowledge. Parking is horrible at this campus and security is very minimal. So If you are looking for a safe, secure, educational environment where people actually respect you and care about your education. This is not the place for you. As the mom of a college student who had to leave a private, out of state institution for medical reasons, I came into contact with BCCC when my son was ready to obtain further credits. The administration was so very helpful, from applying for appropriate courses, to registering and payment. My son has not yet graduated, but the experience at the local community college was excellent. BCCC also has programs in which high school students with special skills or talents can participate in college level work. Both the high school and BCCC were extremely helpful in this regard. High school credits were obtained with no tuition payment. Finally, I am a sunset photographer. The high hill on the campus overlooking the baseball field just off Swamp Road is a very nice vista for sunset shots!!Carol Geibe

First off the price is great. The campus is really nice. I liked the professor's a ton. There were some really good teachers. When I transferred out most of my credits went to Penn state without an issue. I see a few reviews on here talking about bad teachers. This is not a BCCC problem, it's a college problem. I had just as many bad teachers if not worse teachers at Penn State as I did at BCCC. Expect it, accept it, and work harder in those classes. It's only 16 weeks folks. If you are looking to see if college is for you or just starting back up with your education I think it's a great place to start.Mike Carson

The campus itself is clean and the security is friendly. As for the professors I had in my two year stint here, many of them were awesome people and very helpful as teachers. I feel I have learned a lot from having knowledgeable teachers such as Professor Beers in the math department and Professor Bresnen in the music department. All in all, for the most part the staff here seems to care about their students' success and I have had many more pleasurable teachers here than I expected.Dan

Are you a working individual looking to earn a degree? Don’t go to Harrisburg Community College. This college uses Technology that is not easy to learn and I am good with Computers. Want to speak with a Advisor, well my advisor lives in South Carolina so I can only conduct a meeting via Zoom, the college is taking ALL personal interactions away. And working individuals…well i hope your not trying to spend any time with family and friends because I leave my 40 hour week job and I do school work for 5-8 hours a night and on my weekends. Forget about spending anytime with my wife and three children….I am taking 3 classes. Don’t ask the teachers a question, they just refer you to the syllabus…well clearly I am asking you a question because I didn’t understand it. I am military, yesterday I had duty and i didn’t get my project submitted, I logged in tonight to submit the project and the instructor removed the instructions, and locked the drop box so I couldn’t submit the assignment. I could keep going but I don’t have time…if your a working individual, don’t fall for the things they tell you.William Bricker

If I could give this institution a lower than one star rating, I would. For a community college, the course costs, books, and fees seem to be immense. I had professors who took half or more of the class periods to talk about themselves, personal topics and politics. I’ve also had professors assign English paper topics about personal things and I imagine he laughed at the student’s papers later in his free time. The required intro to college class professor had us playing with popsicle sticks and jars of rocks and sand. The certifying official for the VA office submitted my paperwork incorrectly. I dropped my classes and incurred debt because of how poorly the education at HACC is. They seem to be all about the money and not the education or students. I can’t even request a transcript for my new school because of “debts” to HACC. I no longer live in Pennsylvania and I am now attending a MUCH better school, and I am very glad. I would never recommend this school to anyone. This is not a good school, don’t waste your money and time.SMK3181

Most professors are nice but my overall experience was bad. I went here to try to accomplish a 2 year degree but every time course selection came around they didn’t have the classes I needed so I got stuck taking hardly any credits each semester. The majority of advanced classes are online only. They offer almost zero advanced courses in a classroom. So happy I made the decision to transfer. Not to mention how every time I scheduled a meeting with an advisor it either got cancelled without notice or they changed me to a new advisor who could not give me a single piece of useful advice.Kate

I joined Drexel University as a Computer Science major with a sole aim to take transfer to a better institution. The only two things that I liked at Drexel was :- 1. Scholarship and Financial Aid 2. Math faculty (Dimitri, Jason and Pavel Grinfield) The CS lectures were aweful, so was the CS faculty. I had a 4 GPA for 3 continuous quarters (that's how long I stayed here). CS 164 was a course which taught Javascript language. However, I knew more JavaScript before taking the course than I came out learning after the course. Totally confusing. Popyack was my professor. CS 171 and 172 were fine, just because I had prior experience with C++. In 8 out of 10 lectures I fell asleep, because they were extremely boring. The professor made no eye contact what so ever. Half of the time what he says would make no sense. The labs don't really help you out, they are poorly designed. Most labs will take more time than the time allotted. You'll have to go home with extra work. The university is fraud and extremely unmanaged. There's no infrastructure compared to the good colleges. Small football field. The area is not safe at all. You keep hearing this person got shot, that person got robbed, raped etc. They do not maintain student to faculty ratio. Classes are oversized and poorly air conditioned. Drexel course registration system is very poor. Generally by the time your registration time starts most of the classes you had planned to take would be full. Leaving you sweating and worried early in the morning (around 7 am). There's something called Drexel Central at Drexel, which helps you out with general/administrative/financial aid questions. I emailed them many a times, however, out of 5 emails, I only got reply to 3 of them. Bad service. (They say they maintain a well-designed database system for all the messages/inquiries/support). They compare themselves to UPenn. (Yes, you can laugh). Also, some professors say that Drexel Dragons are much better than UPenn students. (Laugh again). Extremely expensive. (So much money for nothin'. In fact, the tuition is more than that of UPenn which is an Ivey League) There are two places where you can go and have meals, and hang out with friends too. However, the food options there is so limited that it's better you rather eat at other places and waste all your meal swipes for which you are paying about $ 2000 per quarter. Even with meal swipes you don't get everything (basically the good things). For most of the things you can't use meal swipes. For meal swipe, at one of the locations, for example you can buy Pepppperrrronnnni Pizza (You can guess the quality of the pizza! The worst pepperoni is served here.) The free refill cups are extremely small. When I joined in the Fall the cups had a good size of 16 oz, but as time flew the cups became smaller and smaller. They are now half (may be even lesser) of what they used to be. The books for the courses are at extremely high price, and are hardly used. Drexel maintains rating and review system for course and faculy, however, though it is hardly ever evaluated. (But they will send you a million emails asking you to complete course/faculty rating/review). For example, one of the Pfysics professors at Drexel, who is pathetic at teaching, asks the students to buy books if they are taking the course compulsorily, still continues this practice of making them buy books, even after so many reviews having been done against it. No action taken by Drexel. The dorm life is not bad. Except that the washrooms, toilets are not cleaned on a daily basis. The kitchen is always dirty. Laundry room is always full. Well, they do have a Subway, but the quality of service provided there is extremely poor. The guy there literally just throws everything you tell him on the bread, such that when the bread is folded, 1/4th of the sandwich comes out. Chick fil A at Drexel unlike at all other locations does not provide free refills. Again they are charging you so much for nothing. Never consider going here.Niam Tomer

Surprisingly good University, presenting a good amount of development and a few excellent professors. The co-op opportunities are very interesting, a great idea and implementation. It is, however, a very expensive education, leading to a lower prestige/cost relationship. To become a top-ranked University, Drexel still needs a lot of branding through student achievement – combined with school pride, which could be much stronger – and research projects/applications with high visibility. Both could be reached with benefits to bring more top-level students and professors and with good money usage (because there is a lot of it) and cooperations for project funding.Leonardo Rolim

I attended Drexel and I can honestly say this was the worst choice I've made in a school choice. My professors were pretty decent, but the staff are not helpful and they talk to you like you should know certain things already. I pay this damn school every month on time because I have a balance due, and they won't release my transcripts even though I am paying them upward $125 per month. Which are payments that I am never late paying. I can honestly say I regret this decision and really should have went with my first choice which was Temple and my second choice being Cheyney. NPTI is the best. It’s just that simple! The hands on experience you get here beats any online training you will receive. Barry is the man and he goes out of his way to help anyone who needs some extra attention. He truly cares about the students and does an amazing job teaching and showing you different mechanics of movements, corrective exercises and always has a funny story for you. When first coming in for my tour I wasn’t sure about if I was going because of adjusting to living in a new state and an overwhelming feeling of me not being able to do it. When I came in ms. Lindsey introduced herself to me and started my tour and by the end I had became very comfortable with her and shared my story and what lead me here. She make me feel accepted and if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be here about to graduate early next year ! The teachers are amazing support making going here and dealing with everyday life easier ! As a part time student sometimes life gets overwhelming and I feel so comfortable coming here knowing I’m doing something I love with the utter most support from my educators. Mr. Elijah is one of the best around, he shared his story with our class and it’s truly inspiring. Knowing we have an educator with such great talent and experience is a good feeling ! I am a recent Empire Beauty School graduate (May 2022) and have decided to return 3 months later for the Cosmetology Educators Program because I thoroughly enjoyed my beauty school experience. I’ve been doing Penn Foster online schooling for almost a whole year now. I’ve found this online experience a great one. They are very helpful in all ways possible. I’ve called a few time and their stuff is helpful and kind. They help so much with the questions you ask and reassurance you need. You go at your own past, fast, or as slow as you want. I’ve struggled so much in the past with schools , I’ve been to over 6+ schools and I started at the point have an IEP/ taking classes for it. Penn Foster online High School, has helped me understand so much and I love how I can learn at my own past. The price is also reasonable. I can stay up till 3AM and do my work. I’ve finished a class in a whole week at times. I’d stay really hard. Not only that Penn Foster always keeps you up to date on thing that are happening with your account. I am the mother of two students at Penn Foster who just graduated. They are 15 and 17 years of age. They were placed in Penn Foster due to being bullied by teachers at their local school. My oldest enrolled with 0 credits in Oct of 2019 and my youngest enrolled with 7 credits in June of 2020. My oldest graduated Dec 07, 2020 and my youngest graduated Dec 23. 2020. They loved that they could go as slow or as fast as the wanted. They loved not having a schedule or having to have any interactions with teachers. Their overall experience was great. I have one more student, my 16 year old step-daughter working on it now. She's 41% done. We also have a 14 year old who will be enrolling once done with 8th grade. I was very happy with everything! The front desk lady is always so sweet on the phone and in person. The teacher and Kia were so cool because they listened to me and heard me. It was easy to communicate what I wanted. They understood what I wanted even though I wasn’t sure how to formulate the proper words for the technique. The teacher was knowledgeable and helped the student with the colors, it was great. The student was very hard working and proficient at shampooing and styling my hair and listening when I explained how I wanted my hair straightened. I hope to get her again, she did a great job! I’ve gone here many times and have gotten quality cuts and color at amazing prices. The student stylists are friendly and genuinely want to do right by their clients. The key is to remember that this is a school and the stylists are still learning so you may spend a lot of time getting your cut/color. Definitely worth the time.Melanie Keiper

YOURpath is a wonderful program that allows those who were not able to finish high school to have a chance to learn & earn their diploma. I think it's truly a blessing because it offers such great resources for free to help us further not only our education but even career choices. Finances were always a big issue for me to get my Ged and even having to try to relearn the subjects, but this program gives you the oppurtunity to learn & study so that you can have the courses fresh in your mind when you take the test. Tech is a great school the lady that Put one star doesn't know what she's talking about she is just mad her kid didn't get in. The Academic program is amazing the teachers they will help you and make sure you get your homework in on time and that your classwork is done right so you don't fail. BCTHS is one of the best schools, I am currently a senior. The lady who put the 1 star has no room to talk , it says write a review of your experience, if your child has not been here nor have you i don't think it's okay for you to be writing a review about the school just because you didn't like the fact that your child did not get in. My older brother had also went to BCTHS he was the class of 2014, tech had helped him achieve great things as well as many others. the teachers are amazing and so are the tech shops. I attended a Christmas party over 5 years ago, whose purpose was to introduce charities to the invited guests. I met the Hopeworks representative at the affair, Valerie Buickerwood , and I was both intrigued and impressed with the work of Hopeworks. I accepted an offer to visit the Hopeworks location to learn more. After less than an hour I was blown away by the young adults there, their passion and the obvious excellence of the program to have the participants succeed in life economically, socially, and in character. I chose this charity as a focus of my efforts. I discuss Hopeworks with clients, associates and friends constantly so that this GEM of a charity is know and supported. I am active in the Hopeworks Mentor program and, simply put, this is the best run charity that is making a difference in the day to day lives of the Camden area .young women and men each and every day. What an experience. I held a food drive at work for kid friendly summer foods. I took my children with me to drop the food off. Keystone Opportunity Center was so welcoming. They all came out to help unload the food. My boys and I took a photo with the food to be donated. They gave my boys the job of weighing all of the food, writing the weight of each bag, and adding up the total weight of the food that was donated. We were given a tour of the pantry. The staff explained to us how it works. We were able to see all of the different ways that various groups help KOC. It was very inspiring. What a great organization!!Heather

I would give 0 stars in honesty. the woman I was on the phone with was condescending and assuming and talked to me like a know it all. you don't call a place like this to be talked down to before knowing your story or reasons for choices or even a bit of the situation you call for help and understanding. They offer a range of services to those in need. I go there for the pantry. The food is OK and at times you can pick up toiletries or misc items like toothpaste and shampoo. I give it 3 stars because you can only visit the pantry once a month and the food that's supplied doesn't last a month. It would be nice if it were twice a month. Also the parking lot is a nightmare.Piercey

I graduated from CCC with a AAS degree in Addiction Counseling & Human Services. My professors & advisors were wonderful. I was just there yest to receive my 1st dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. I went to get a free covid test . They have you lined up outside filling forms out while your in line . It was rainy and very cold but the organizers were very nice and helpful. Testing was done inside a warm building. Although the testing was quick and easy there is some discomfort. But overall I would go back if I had to . Oh and the lines moved fairly quickly . I really liked this place when I first signed up. I come exclusively for the pool and pay full price for membership. However, they are struggling with hiring lifeguards right now (which isn't necessarily their fault, that's a problem everywhere right now) so the pool schedule is restricted and constantly changing. Plus, guest passes are back which means the pool is basically packed and unusable in the summer. I wish they would implement member/adult only hours in the evening in the activity pool so I can do my physical therapy without being splashed and jumped on by kids, just give grown folks an hour so we can do our exercise ya know? I'm not a lap swimmer and the competition pool is severely reduced in the evenings anyway due to swim team practices and yet you are cutting evening activity pool hours. I work full time and can only come after work, if you are going to restrict pool hours, why not do it during the day? Are you going to reduce my membership dues since you are basically cutting the after work hours? I'm at the point where I'm questioning whether a membership is worth it with these pool restrictions and how packed it is. I wanted to edit this to say the pool staff has actually gotten a lot better, more kind and less authoritarian, so that's good.Christina C

I had to pause my membership because the pool is still not fully open. I am told it's because of a lifeguard shortage but other gyms I've recently researched have their pools open full time. I hope staff recruitment and retention is a priority for the leadership; especially if they're having to reduce hours and losing members as a result. For many folks, we have a membership specifically for the pool because there are few other options in the region. I am confused about what they've been prioritizing (hydro massage chairs…?) in recent years. I've been a member for 7 years and was always the biggest fan of the Kroc Center (constantly referring anyone I know). It's a shame that recently I feel so disappointed and cannot recommend it.Jeesun Hunting

I so wish there were another affordable option for an indoor kids pool in the area because this place is the worst. We called the same day for pool hours and were told the kids pool was open, arrived to find the kids pool was closed, were told to go in the adult pool, then – once we were in the adult pool – were told the kids couldn't use the adult pool because they couldn't pass the swim test. The family changing rooms are all locked and you're supposed to ask staff for a key, but who knows how to find them. This isn't the first time two people have told us different things – they have so many rules, and nobody knows what they are. So frustrating. If you have other options, I'd take them. The OPCC has something for everyone. Great venue for parties, weddings or meetings. Sports teams keep the gym humming every day. Afterschool program and summer camp for kids. 12 step groups meet almost every day of the week. Saturdays find 50-60 older adults enjoying social interaction and a free hot noon time meal. The Adult education program helps adults obtain their G.E.D. or improve their language skills. Folks in need find an emergency food and clothing cupboard and meals are prepared twice a week for the homeless in the community.Linda Mill

Old Pine has been a great support to all ages of Philly residents in our community, especially during COVID! I've donated supplies and money and have been impressed by how they're able to get the most out of their donations. They provide meals and necessities to anyone struggling and offer afterschool activities for youth. Their intrepid volunteers keep the facility and grounds looking fresh.
