buses and parking are nightmares here. No parking or you will have to pay everytime you park including weekend whereas other schools often free. Buses always late and full. The school not even tried to get more buses. Also, there is 40mins wait between 2 buses. Finally, unequal opportunity for on cambus job or help. We came to many departments and asked for help but they rarely tried to solve but kept saying we could not do anything. And we came back multiple time and the other did help us out. I enjoyed my time at UNT, made some great friends, and I have good memories. However, this University is not longer a place of higher education but a political activist training ground. I never thought that I’d see the day that The First Amendment would not be honored at UNT, but that is what has happened. And to think I have a degree in Criminal Justice from there is similar to being trained as an EMT by Dr. Kevorkian. Awful….it’s too bad that I will not be able to hire any students (or UNTs “product”) from here as it’s just too risky. Same with giving to the Development office.Where's Waldo?

The Grad program is a joke. I've never met more people incompetent of doing their job. The undergrad school should conduct training with the grad school to get them up to par. Because they dropped the ball, I now get stuck with their issues. Also the elderly lady working in billing should take a phone etiquette class. We are in 2022. There shouldn't be this many issues consistently happening. Yet, the undergrad side was on top of every single aspect. Sylvan Learning of Denton has been a game changer for us! We first utilized Sylvan when our daughter was in 7th grade and needing a boost in Math. Now that she is a Senior in high school, we have once again called upon Sylvan to help with SAT/ACT Prep as we prepare for the college application process. (WOW what a difference it has made on her scores!!!) Holly Martin and the Staff at Sylvan have gone above and beyond to do everything necessary to help our daughter be the best she can be both academically and in character. Holly truly makes each parent and child feel valued, and she understands what it takes to connect with each child. I can say without reservation that Sylvan is worth every penny!!!Christi Hardison

Bringing my daughter in to Sylvan in Denton was a major game changer. Her teachers are amazed at the improvement in her grades as well as the improvement in her confidence & behavior. The impact from the help that we have gotten from Sylvan is much bigger than any report card could measure. Not only are my daughters grades higher now, but she is much more relaxed & happy, she has better friendships and gets along better with the family. I heard for years that Sylvan was effective but expensive, but what you get for the money is amazing, I'd do it all over again a year or two sooner if I could.Myranda Shugart

I cannot say enough positive things about Sylvan. Unlike school, they are able to provide the individual teaching our son needs. That one-on-one time is making a tremendous difference in not only his skills but also his self confidence. When our son first started Sylvan, reading for fun was not something he would ever consider. Sylvan has helped change his attitude towards reading and learning in general. The school isn’t too bad. You have some teachers that are good and then there are some that aren’t so good . I definitely suggest researching your own teachers. The advisors in the Education department are no help, I’ve literally gotten everything from my classmates. They don’t suggest classes , give updates or anything. You ask a question they can’t answer what you ask they’ll give you everything but what you asked for. The advisors make the school look very iffy. And I can honestly say, because I haven’t had a good experience with the Advisors it makes me not even want to get a Masters Degree. They’re supposed to be there to help and they don’t help at all . We need help , people are paying out of pocket and some of us have to get student loans. We need help , we aren’t Advisors .Tekeya Hunter

We went on a campus tour because my oldest is looking for a Master's level program. The staff was friendly, helpful, and responded to our questions in a comprehensive way. The counselor talked with my daughter individually and provided tips for formatting and completing her application. The library is beautiful, and I love the way they have married the old architecture with the new. It was also nice to see a wall of diverse and influential women in the student center as an inspiration to the young women and men they serve. My daughter loved the campus and the staff, so we will see what happens.Annissa Macon

I hate this school. I’ve been going here for almost two years now and I’ve had nothing but problems from them. To anyone planning on attending: DO NOT GO TO THE ADVISORS. They will screw you over because the majority of them have no idea what they are doing. I signed up for spring classes and paid for them IN OCTOBER, AKA THREE months before classes begin this spring only to find out they waitlisted me on a class that I had first-come first-serve on. I was one of the first people to sign up and they waitlisted me less than a week before classes begin? I don’t effing think so. This school is the very definitikn of stressful. The only upside is that the majority of professors can actually teach. I wish I could give this campus a zero out of five stars.Emma P

Anyone who has a disability and is allowed to test in the testing center should know that even when you make an appointment you have to wait 5 to 10 minutes now just to take a test. Your better off taking one in class now than going to the testing center anyway. When i first started their it was no problem but as i finished up it got worse never test in the testing center because it feels like the DMV. As for math professors avoid Keith Bailey for he is very very bad at teaching math and does not like to meet with you or honor disability accommodations. NCTC now has become more unorganized than ever and should be avoided.Jordan Walsh

I am so sick of the advisors and lack of help. From the beginning of my time here at NCTC, I have had to figure out everything on my own because my first advisor registered me for classes I did NOT need for my major. Furthermore, due to everything happening due to COVID 19, we should be allowed to move to pass / fail if we choose as it says we are able to on the OFFICIAL website. But administration is not allowing for it REGARDLESS of the benefit that it would hold for some students. I am so fed up with this school. Some of the professors are lovely and that is the only reason for 2 stars.Akiko McCann

Took my kid here for her to see if this location was okay. My kids said there was someone inside who gave her a little bit of a walk around tour.
