Before intellitec i had no clue what i wanted to do with my future. I was kind of just floating around not taking anything seriously. Then when i found my passion for the medical field i had a really hard time figuring out where to start. Intellitec gave me and opportunity of a lifetime. Not only did this experience teach me to adapt to unfamiliar circumstances, it showed me that even when u think there isn’t a way, there always is. Along my journey at intellitec i met some of the most warm hearted people who have nothing but your best interests in mind. Mr. Roby, one of the instructors, creates a comfortable atmosphere that keeps his students engaged. Miss Davis, former student and now instructor, has zero issue with breaking a subject down one step at a time at a pace you are comfortable with. Mr. Thorn, our lab instructor, is very informative and allows u to branch off so that you can become more familiar with the craft. Last but not least, Miss Lo, intellitec’s instructor and extern coordinator, is someone you can ALWAYS go to no matter the problem. She’s not only your shoulder to cry on when you need one but she’s also someone with the most remarkable networking skills. Miss Lo. got me an interview for a job outside of school in ONE 5 MINUTE PHONE CALL and because of her i am now currently employed at the location i externed at. Her number is definitely one you should have. Overall Intellitec has done nothing but provide me with a second family. I just wanted to give a positive shout out to the teacher of CCR:100. Until recently, I didn't know how this psychology class would be applicable to the real world. Rest assured, it is. I won't mention the name of the restaurant, but there is currently a GM that has enjoys screaming at employees in front of customers, all day. You are rushed through training and at times purposely trained wrong. With this class I was able to professionally express to the GM how this coercive behavior is not okay to do in front of a customer. I was able to point out flaws in management skills professionally, which in the long run has saved my record. The GM used nothing but unprofessionalism and excuses throughout each email proving strong signs of weak leadership skills. These emails include insults and calling me a liar. there was no professionalism, whatsoever. This particular class gives students the strength, courage, and applicable skills to improve the workplace, to find the right work environment, and essentially teaches you a form of management that is a business psychology applicable when you need it most. Current HVAC student and very pleased with my education so far. The teachers care about not only my education but my goals and path moving forward. I was having a tough time getting employers to notice me and take my resume seriously. Until I asked Rob Gleghorn, the Career Services Manager, for help that is. He helped me sort out my resume, going above and beyond to make sure it was the best version I could present. I started getting calls from employers the next day. I instantly went from hoping to land an interview to trying to figure out how to choose from the best option. I feel IntelliTec is more than just a school, it's a career builder. The teachers are knowledgeable in their field and always willing to spend extra time going over subject matter that I have questions about. They let me down big time, took forever to get my financial aid appointment, they slacked on helping me as a first time student and caused me to be bumped out of the esthetisian course for the second time and they put me on a waiting list again saying the course is now filled up. The advisors don't communicate well and didn't do enough to ensure that process would come together. So now after all of my hard work to get in school they won't own up to the fact that they failed and put it back on me. Excuse me but they get a pay check to ensure a first time student succeeds. No going the extra mile here nor connecting the dots. Your just SOL if you think they care.E Green

It is like pulling teeth to get ahold of ANYONE here. I've sent several emails and voicemails. When (and if) someone does finally respond, they leave a very undetailed email. I never get a phone call back. I live an hour away from the school so "dropping in" isn't really an option. I was willing to move closer to the school if I got into their LPN program, but stopping by to be able to talk to someone is just a bit out of the way… I don't want to drive all the way down there for a few simple questions…Aimee Whatley

As a former student DO NOT attend this school. When I was a student there my class had to clean the bathrooms as a sanitation grade for a month (I was pregnant at the time). The receptionist at the time was extremely rude to the students, I had spoke up and told her there is no reason to be rude after this incident I was pulled out of class and was told I needed to apologize or be sent home and this was coming from the directors. I went to talk to Steve about it and he yelled at me basically degrading me. I decided to leave the school, and when I went back to retrieve my kit that I PAID for Jennaeh Derby had hid my things from me, she wouldn’t give them back to me. I had to threaten to call the cops to file a theft report it wasn’t until that I was given my things back. In the end they had some great instructors but they all no longer work there. I repeat DO NOT go to this school unless you wanna be financially and mentally drained.. UPDATE: it’s funny when the school tries to respond to my review with lies. There was other people there who witness this incident. Intimidation does not work. The truth will always come out.Veronica Lemons

To anyone not wanting to read this whole review, if a movie could describe this school it would be mean girls. I'm a veteran trying to start my life as a civilian. Anybody considering this school please look for a school willing to invest into their students. They ran off two good teachers in favor of an unqualified one. The owners are not willing to listen to constructive criticism from their students and have tried making staff write fake positive reviews to get more customers and potential students. This school looks deceptively professional. They have a staff member that has been convicted of identity theft from a previous school and we have had some students have issues with identity theft within this school. They had a second location in Coeur D Alene, Idaho shut down and I will not be surprised if this one does too. I know that there is a federal investigation going on with this school. They reuse materials that are supposed to be disposed of that can cause serious health hazards. If this place was a restaurant the FDA would be shutting them down.destroy creeper

I think its absolutely ridiculous how the owners are acting. Telling people their experiences never happened. I 100% witnessed veronicas story. I saw it in person. This school is absolutely ridiculous. Half the teachers that were there when we were there will back us up cause they were screwed over too. The thing about wiping the counters as a grade was false. We had to sweep and clean the bathroom floors clean the restroom areas. I then got offered extra sanatation grades to clean the booger wall in the bathroom. It wasnt until the students said something and were mad that they hired people to come in. Stop lying to make yourselves look good. Theres many witnesses and you keep saying people need to be held accountable but you yourselves as owners arent taking accountability.Casie Nelson

The trainees try to force their black clients to go to students who don't want to and probably will never work with our hair.I had always been able to request the student I wanted to do my hair and one day Holly decided to holler at me that I couldn't. Mind you the time I was there before I heard a white client request a particular student with no problem. My hair is not a testing station and saying I'm sorry after an undertrained student who has no experience with Africa American hair does damage to your hair won't cut it. Anyway the Solutions dept that nationally governs all schools won't bother to get back to you about your concerns. So Don't go to this school in Colorado springs if you have African American hair, they are racist!!!!Wanda Means

Very rude & non professional front desk receptionist Hannah – I had a consultation with Mariah last week- spent 15-20 on the plan for my appt next week….Wednesday day of my appt set- had an emergency- called to say I'd be a few minutes late – Hannah treated me like a child- …I said I'll make it…got there 3 minutes b late & I demand a reschedule! I we had the hard part done already and the most time consuming party done after I rushed to get there and 3 gals were just talking in the lobby. Will never recommend them to anyone. I went in asking for my bangs trimmed and to add shorter layers to my hair which was down to the middle of my back. The student did NOT listen and cut at least 6 inches off my hair after I repeatedly told her I did not want short hair and no length removed just more layers added. Four different people total tried working on my hair and the leader didn’t come until the end and didn’t fix the uneven layers either. I left with my hair at my SHOULDERS. Beyond upset at this and would not recommend. Had to go get my hair completely redone by a professional after the butchering.Victoria Rick-Holien

Haven't spent a lot of time here. Got my son a card for homeschooling. It went smooth and the gentleman was nice and helpful. He picked out his books and we went to a computer to check out. A woman who reeked of stale cigarettes and smelled like she slept in an ashtray (through our masks) came running from across the room to ask if we needed help. I told her no, we were just checking out. She rather rudely told us we can't check out there, that's what the other computers were for. I went to verify the books were checked out and they were. The computer was on the check out screen. No one was around so we didn't inhibit anyone else by using the wrong computer, I'm not sure why she had such an issue with it but my son has refused to go back there after the way she treated us. Guess I'll have to drive across town with him for further book rentals.Holly Gomez

I love this branch, ESPECIALLY the guy who helps run the studio for performing artists located there. His name is Keagan, and he's been the most universally nice and helpful person I've ever associated with my favorite branch of the state's public service offices and businesses. I love the public library, thanks for helping me get my card back, teaching me about Overdrive, and helping me and my children achieve our dreams! ❤️ 3/3/2022 – Today I had the pleasure of returning to this branch to take advantage of the music studio for recording artists they have. The aforementioned librarian was also the person who helped me with the recording process, and he was incredible to work with! Computer time? Call first for a reservation. You'll get an hour and maybe a time extension if its not busy. Unfortunately they don't want you hanging around, so you will have to do your business and leave in a timely manner. Libraries are trying to limit the contagions so once you are finished there is no "lollygagging" as my mom would tell me! We just have to be patient and this is a lot better then the 4 months the libraries were closed early 2020. First impressions: clean, well lit, good signage. Entrances and exits clear. Well staffed on an early Thursday afternoon. I like the layout, with Quick Reads and DVDs and Audio Books on CD immediately available. The Patron Service area is just the right size, being small. The staff at this library is very friendly and wiring to help. It was not all that busy here on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of tables to bring your work and spread out. Quiet as expected from a library and clean. This building has a great view of the city and mountains to the west. Some of the books we were looking for were not in but available at other libraries in town. They are being brought to this library for pick up later.Dan H.

Review Summary

The studio space is literally one of the greatest things I've ever seen in a library. Not only do they have an excellent audio production and recording set up, but the room is also equiped with professional lighting, cameras, equipment and software so that you can execute any creative idea you could think of! Roland was also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, it's awesome to see people so passionate about helping inspire and execute the creative ideas of their community. A library is not just a place to read books, but a place to inspire new ideas. The only downside is that they are not open on the weekends and close really early on the weekdays, which is unfortunate because I work til 5 every weekday. Please let me use this space on the weekend!! I literally live a block away and because the studio is so highly sought out it's difficult to find a time slot.Brendan Storiz

There is nothing like a trip to the library! It has been years since I have been to the library now that our boys are grown, but like always, it was a great experience. No matter how advanced we get in tecknology, there is nothing like the feel of a great book, comfortable seating, and a quiet and friendly environment. The staff are amazing and will to help with any project. The layout is nothing like anything I have seen. If you haven't been to the library lately, I highly recomend. This place is great not only for getting work done in a quiet environment, but obviously serving as a resource. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and now they have a great coffee shop making it even more desirable place to get away and get work done. The reason I give them two stars is they lack services. I had been a client for 5 years and went faithfully to the support group. Now that they said I have disruptive behavior and they also lack on thing. They do not have credentials to support the organizations because they do not show bio and what they do to help clients with. They also implemented new policy to limit occurrences of the clients. (Original Google review posted to Knights of Columbus Hall) "I want to make clear that my disappointment at Knight's of Columbus Hall near Pikes Peak Ave and Tejon St. (right next to the downtown library) was NOT with the organization or the premises, but rather with our public library and an "art studio' program that was advertised via flyers, (pics of which will also be posted) and to be held at in a specific room at the KOC hall. I was excited to have found something I'm actually interested in, outside of the house. I showed up at the day and time posted, and followed the signs to the art studio. When I reached my destination I realized that I was the only one there – EXCEPT for a woman who was standing behind a counter alone, busy looking down and doing something on her phone (also posting the Employee's pic, standing there doing nothing). Surprise, say cheese! 😁 I inquired about the art studio advertised on flyers in the library, her response was that the vendor didn't have any art supplies and therefore there wouldn't be any activities that day. I inquired about the following week's scheduled activities/art studio, and her response was that "They really didn't know when the studio would be up and running.." But it could be 'awhile'… Wow. Why even post flyers around the community? So people like me can show up like I did? Wasting everyone's time, gas, and meter money – With no advance warning or notice of cancellation? The presumably simple woman working security took it upon her self to remove my items from my work station in the 7 minutes I was gone to take a call as to not bother any other people who would prefer to work in silence. She was quick to anger and needed me to know the mighty power she held as a security guard at a library, obviously the highest of honors. It's a shame the interaction happened as I have not had any issues with any librarians, the people who actually matter, ever in the past. She also called it "my library" which is just levels beyond hilarious Edit: So if using the restroom i need to bring all my gear? The entire Pikes Peak Library District has become an extremely biased institution. All of there staff are slowly becoming indoctrinated woke feminists (yes, even the men). Their strong hatred for conservative masculine males is appartent, especially when requesting positive male material. They consider any male that wants to better himself in the traditional roles-toxic-and must follow their personal idology (which riddicules, insults and belittles males and masculinity). They state such material is misogynistic; this couldn't be further from the truth. And trying to explain such material values people's character (male or female) is lost on them. DO NOT GO HERE! I drove up twice which is a 2 Hour Dr. there and back in total for me. I needed help with my résumé and they said there’s a guy there who can look it over and help you. The first time I went he wasn’t in and they told me to make a appointment with him for next time. The second time I called in the morning to set up an appointment but I needed their help to find the link. they said I don’t need to set an appointment he’s doing walkins so I drove there. they told me to wait for him I ended up waiting two hours and then they closed. no one told me they were closing or that the guy wasn’t gonna help me. so I wasted two hours waiting and four hours driving and the gas to get there and back home…all for nothing. I ended up posting my résumé to Reddit and some people helped me on there. UCCS is a great school and best bang for your buck. Campus is nice and will continue to improve as construction finishes up. While the Freshmen and Sophomore classes are sometimes pretty large (usually the Science classes for me, others were pretty small), your Junior and Senior level classes are extremely small which allows you to connect with not only the instructors but students as well, which is often a problem in large classes. Graduating in May and do not regret my decision to come here. A few tips of advise: – Parking does SUCK, it may improve next year with the new parking garage. Either live on campus, come early, or park in the parking lot away from the campus and get a shuttle, no other way around it until they figure out a long term solution. – Pay attention to your student portal when it comes to Financial Aid. Sometimes things may come up out of the blue without your knowledge. Also, it is best to talk to an ACTUAL staff member at Financial Aid. No offense to the student employees, they sometimes do not know what they are talking about and just assume things which can sometimes cause problems, do yourself a favor and talk to an actual staff member to get the best information or solution regarding a problem. – Finally, if you do stay on campus, Summit Village, the Freshmen dorms, seems to be very active given the impression I have seen from it. On the other hand, Alpine Village is not very active in the social aspect. Hope you have good roommates and you should be set for the year, otherwise get involved with something because Alpine Village is like an actual apartment community, little to no interaction with one another.Kyle Walker

I had a really good experience at UCCS getting my BSME. Many of the engineering professors are excellent teachers and also have had real world experience that is valuable for students to hear about. The class sizes in engineering classes were pretty small and you almost always have good access to your teachers to ask questions and make sure you can absorb the material. The tuition was pretty reasonable when I was in school there up until 2012, but I understand it has been increasing rapidly. On the down side this schools wants to deny that it is a commuter school and therefore does not making parking ease a priority, which is a big negative when you have to deal with it every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. The passes are expensive, you aren't guaranteed a spot, traffic is a mad dash for the last remaining far away spots. UCCS should really invest more in large parking structures. It also seems like they might be putting too much money and effort into odd, not very helpful activities and services when they should be focusing more on quality of education and ease of access for their students.Keagen C

Some teachers are awesome and other teachers are horrible that don’t want to help you. Overall, students are also rude and for some reason believe they are better than everyone else. Oh and the staff is horrible and unprofessional. Not to mention that they charged me two payments in one month when I specifically asked when signing up for payments if they were going to charge me twice and they said no which REALLY messed up my methods of organizing my bills. When I asked about it they took forever to answer me and haven’t gotten back to me on refunding it as promised. Hate it. Never going back and never should have gone there. Sure the campus is beautiful but the quality of the classes, experience and overall school is definitely not worth what they charge. Parking is rediculous too.Maria De Lira

I went there when it was first opened. For the most part I loved it, but some of the adults there did not listen to us young adults at all. I did have a huge problem with that. Then when we had to have all exterior doors locked and a metal detector, as well as an officer to confiscate weapons. I decided it was time for me to leave. It's bad enough for kids to bully, but to also bring deadly weapons? It was a no brainer for me. I do hope the kids who went there after me had better experiences. Wasson was the best school in the Springs. We learned more and had so much other schools couldn't touch. like, the huge indoor pool. the football stadium , the archery court, tennis courts, in house fresh food from the cafeteria the huge autormin , the chore, drama clubs, the best wood and metal shops, the best place to learn how to cook had plenty of small kitchens. Proud to be Thunderbirds bar none the glee club, Football year after year winning , Drama classes were great. Plenty of other school clubs, the gynitises team. We study hard and enjoyed being there. Yes it had it problems but in all fairness it was the best toward the student. Bar None. My senior class was the last before the busing started and I heard it changed. I know of one person who suffered from others over mix dating. Sad but all busing did was spread the violence to all areas. My class of 1971 was the last to really enjoy the school. It had so much to offer that other schools did not have. I loved so many of my teachers and some not. I wish the students after our class could have enjoyed it.goodgrief cunningham

Absolutly terrible. The staff is a joke, everytime i pick up my toddler and infant after class they have full diapers and are so hungry. Out of the whole daycare there is only 1 fluent english speaking teacher. Their restrooms are filthy, the food is stale and cold when they serve it, the classrooms are outdated. Ms. Melissa is a rude, controlling, yuppy, selfish person who does not give a damn about the students and only cares about her wallet and district numbers. As a Teacher at Doherty HS and a public school teacher for 20 years, I believe I can offer a fair and useful perspective for students or parents considering enrollment at DHS. Doherty is an excellent school for those students who are self-motivated and strive to excel. Further, DHS endeavors to connect with those students who struggle academically by providing a non-traditional path to a diploma. Parents are greatly pleased with the extent DHS is willing to work with their kids to foster success. My perceptions, based on what I have seen over the past 7 years at DHS, are that students benefit immeasurably from their involvement at DHS. They develop academic, social, and life skills that serve them well after receiving their diploma. Students are respectful of each other and their teachers. Views outside of the mainstream, likewise, are listened to with respect, and bullying is disdained by the students. Debilitating drug use (meth, heroine, etc.) is very rare, although many students believe the use of marijuana is okay. Alcohol use is not a huge problem here. As a parent, I would consider DHS far better than most schools regarding substance abuse. Fights are unusual for a school this size, perhaps 10-15 minor fights per year without serious injuries or weapons (as far as I know). We have been highly successful in Volleyball, Auto Tech, Mock Trial, Band, FBLA and basketball, yet, many athletes are not as committed as I have seen at other schools (particularly in Louisiana). All things considered, I would enthusiastically recommend DHS as a quality place to develop during these crucial HS years. Still, the greatest aspect of a student’s success and happiness rests with their own attitude, desire, and skills.Joseph Rennier

This hotel is by far the worst I've ever stayed at. First off, they don't even have beds. All they have is chairs with table tops but they don't allow you to have anything on them besides their paperwork. Second, the parking is horrendous. There were no vallet and the walk from the lower parking lot with my bag is ridiculously long. Once inside the bell hops never once offered to help me with a bag. They only sat and stared at me and talked with other guests. Room service was a joke, they never garuneteed they had anything on the menu and you had to wait in line and just hope you got some random decent food. I shared a room with 25+ other people. The wifi was horrible and would block websites from me when I needed to get work done. All of the other guests were very rude and would scream very loudly for no reason also stopping in the middle of the halls and made me have to take long ways around to my room. I reached out per my college instructor’s directions, to this testing facility to have a proctored test set up. I am new to the area and was not told over the phone that I had to set up an appointment online or to do anything else to get my proctored test set up. I even gave them the contact info of my instructor to retrieve my password for the test. I went in the following day and was not able to take my proctored test because they did not set anything up or pass along any information from my call or even tell me that taking a proctored test at this location would cost $25. In the past three years here, I can definitely say that online school would be better for me. I'm not saying that everyone should be online schooled, but from my experience, tolerance and bullying should really be reinforced in one way or another. I've had people throw trash at me, tell me to go away, call me terrible names, I've had people who were my friends flip me off when I didn't even do anything to them, I've had erasers thrown at my head and hit me in the face, and so on. It's not like you have supportive roles at this school either, counselors either try to deflect the problem, ignore it, or tell you to go back to class. One counselor, who I won't name, told me that nobody likes to be around an "Eeyore" all the time. You know, the sad character in Winnie the pooh? I've been an easy target for bullying my whole life, and I don't know what made me decide to switch to online schooling, but I will do so once I finish my junior year of high school. I can finally work up the courage to say that Palmer High School wasn't really suitable for me, and I don't recommend sending your child to school here unless they want to get harassed like I did, but I doubt they'd want to.Amy

They care about all their kids!!!! Palmer High school staff care about all their students:IB, AP regulat classes and everything else inbetween. Each of my children have done a different circiculum. Security; Melika, Eric.and Andre know the kids by name and usually help kids before they get into trouble. Admin Ms Disney and her staff at Palmer listen to the students and make balanced judgements. They help problem solve not just punish. If you want to get a high school diploma these folks will do everything they can to get you there.Shawn McBride

I love that this school puts their money towards supporting the students. It's a public charter school and the school devotes the lion's share of the money from the state towards students' education. Over 50% of the 2018 graduating class had 60+ college credits, which is the equivalent of an Associate's Degree. Students can also work towards a certificate that will support them in their chosen profession. Pikes Peak Community College teachers come to the school to teach college classes to the students here! Well so far my experience with the school has been phenomenal, of course there are drugs and a few bullies (it comes with being in high school) but the teaching staff is some of the best I've been around ever, they care about you as a person, they care about your academic growth, probably more than your parents do, the dean has been fair, he's sometimes a buzz kill, but he's a dean, so its his job. I worked with the DVR for years. And they did exactly nothing for me. And – I put the work in, went to every meeting, etc. Ruth was honest and kind. Priscilla promised me some help that I was seeking regarding equipment. I went through every step of the process, including getting a form DVR gave me signed by my doctor. Turns out, Priscilla lied to me. Not only about that, but about other things as well. Then, she tried to blame me for her errors. But, that didn't work out so well for her because I had recorded some of those calls and archived emails that substantiate her deliberate negligence. I would have accepted her apology and not posted this review, if she wasn't too prideful to not say the words 'I'm sorry' to me for getting my hopes up and then crushing them and then topping that behavior off with rudeness. I went out and got my current job by myself (which I love). In fact, every job that I had in the years that I worked with DVR – I got on my own with no help whatsoever from the DVR. DVR is a 110% a waste of time. This entity is a rouse, sham, etc. Everything that you could learn here – you could learn the same thing(s) in about 1-7 days of watching YouTube videos on the web. Bottom line, they didn't care enough about my disabilities to actually REALLY help me. And I REALLY needed help during those years. The DVR exists so that the government can make a claim that they are doing something to try and help vulnerable people and disabled people get back into work. The truth of the matter is that these DVR offices do very very little to meaningfully help people. If you read my review – then I would like to thank you for getting this far. I have loads of information as regards this entity being such an awful established inside of the DVR folder within my Gmail account. Please don't waste your time by associating yourself with them, don't say that I never warned you.Drew M

DONT CHOOSE CHARITY CARES AGENCY. I know DVR’s purpose is to help people. But i can’t turn the other cheek anymore. I can’t support an organization that ignores the truth behind Charity Cares Agency. Charity Cares Agency didn’t help my son in any way shape or form. Through out these couple of years Linda hardly met with my son and never even got him a volunteer sight. All he wanted was to be a part of something. A part of the community. Why does it take over 1 year to find a site for my son? The biggest waste of time. Not to mention she always had new employees. My son couldn’t even have the same job coach for 3 months. What’s the deal with that? It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Are they just in it for the money? Linda (Director) and James (Manager) haven’t even reported that their address changed?? Fishy if you ask me. They also had my sons file out in the open half the times I went. It has my sons CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION for anyone to grab. This place is Fantastic, I have seen reviews that have brought the rating down. It's a give and take place, you put in the work and show that you are doing good, they will help you but don't expect a handout you have to follow procedure and direction. Be timely and show progress. I see so many bad reviews, I had a Case Manager (I'll leave her name out due to privacy), she was decent. Again you are dealing with human beings, these people feel, think and make mistakes like everyone else. They make mistakes and you'll make mistakes. Communication is a big thing. I have had a rough life and have a hidden disability. They need confirmation that you are in fact disabled, I know its hurtful or dishuman to some but if they didn't issue vision, hearing, psychological and medical tests to make sure you are truthful, anyone could take over spots over those truly in need. There are so many people that have false claims. Your goals need to be within range and within means. If you want to aim for the stars, create a path and show progress.
