My nephew I am raising is behind on his reading level in elementary school. He is on the spectrum with other learning disabilities so it has been difficult to get him to the level he is at. I was sent in to the school from a graduate that took a program here. When I arrived I was automatically treated just like family and I wasn’t even a student yet! I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Alicia helped me by taking very valuable time and asking me questions that would help me make the ultimate life changing discussion that I’ve needed. We went over a few things and she also involved my sister who tagged along with me she absolutely loved that she got to see the labs and the school. Before I knew it Alicia asked when I was wanting to get started I told her as soon as possible. She said it was perfect timing a class starts next month, before I knew it I was signing up for my very first class, filling out for my financial aid. The staff here is OUTSTANDING!!!!! They are very understanding, if you need to talk with anyone their doors always open, they listen and always have you feeling better before you leave their office! This is definitely a place you'll want to consider when making a decision to move forward with your education. The interesting thing is, when I came to Southern Technical College, I was interested in taking a business course. However, after spending some time with Karen in admissions, I discovered that taking a course for Medical Assistant would very possible be a better opportunity for me. I was not at all prepared for what I was getting myself in to. Now, I can say I am glad I took her advice. The classes are constructed in a way that helps the student learn and progress at a steady rate. The teachers are wonderful. They are helpful, encouraging, positive and full of knowledge and experience. The staff is friendly and always available. Tuesdays are half price sale days on clothing each week and on almost all merchandise only one Tuesday per month. Since merchandise is all donations both quality and quantity can vary widely. I started working part time while in school, since my instructor found someone who needed help. I'm now working full time as a cad/cam operator and a back up machinist. I recently graduated from MTI’s web development program. It was an 11 month program and I was able to afford the tuition on a waitress’s income. All of the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and always keep their curriculum up-to-date with the industry’s current needs which is very important since technology is always changing. We were given many opportunities to apply our skills in real-world projects. The only negative thing I can say about the program is that you are sharing class time with your juniors or seniors but, my instructor was very good at managing both groups and addressing every students needs. Wish I would’ve read some of the reviews before enrolling here. Website says the CSIT Program is hands-on, instructor led with some other resources. Meanwhile, we have done no hands on, nor much instructor led anything. Mostly Becaus we don’t have an instructor, at least not one that is qualified to teach this class and the one that is qualified is too busy with the cyber security and OCP D classes to be in our class. Unfortunately I am too far in to withdraw now because I won’t get any of my money back. Maybe time to get a lawyer and sue for false advertising. Where do I begin, my child started at Nicaea back in February. They were in Ms. Maggie’s class, it was disorganized and Ms. Maggie and the teacher assistant were always sitting and yelling at the kids to listen or not do something and so the kids wouldn’t bother them they had the tv on and made them sit and watch, even tho it was free play time. This school was the only one that had a spot open for my child until she would start VPK at a better school. So we roughed it out until “Summer Bible Camp” started and my child was switched over to the next classroom with Ms. Maria. The same thing was happening, kids in front of TV crying because they wanted to play but getting in trouble and screamed at if they got up. But today was the last straw, while dropping my child off Ms. Maria daughter and son break out in a fight, calling each other N****s over and over in front of all the kids and hitting each other. I’m not saying we’re perfect parents and don’t cuss but kids shouldn’t be exposed to that in a “school” setting. Plus, it made me uncomfortable knowing that possibly those 2 kids were left alone with the kids in the classroom. So I immediately took my daughter out. My son is in second grade and has been here since kindergarten. The classes are small, about 10 per grade level and the teachers are dedicated, accessible, and very competent. I love that Christian philosophy and principles are guiding principles at the school. They care about the children and their success. Today I called and Martino was very rude to me and told me I did not lose time because I wasn’t attended( he was arguing with me and rising his voice a bit) but I called a GED representative and they said I indeed lost time because no one attended me before my test started at 1:30….. I was stilling waiting to take my test at 1:35 and still no one came to help me. I only got 60 minutes for my test and I had to guess on multiple questions although I did pass I was not given enough time and got a low passing score when I knew I could have gotten a High score and college credit. this is not the first time I or my boyfriend had problems with him either restaff or set him straight!Snagurr

I only gave two stars because I graduated from the high school side. Outside of my school experience, as a customer their automotive collusion side isn't good. If you choose to being your car there because you graduated from the school (or not) DO NOT take it over there. After they got my car they didn't check everything like the teacher said he and his students did. Plus at a ACTUAL auto shop the workers are NOT supposed to get in contact with their customers over their personal cellphones only through a company phone(don't tell me other wise because I did my research). Spoke with the director and set up a tour for today and my daughter was looking forward to it. We arrived at my tour time. Rang the doorbells and called their phone upon arrival – just to be ignored. The mailman actually entered the code to let us in. We stood there in the front lobby and waited 10 minutes for someone to assist us. I heard multiple staff members speaking loudly in the hallways to each other but no one came to the front ever to see if someone was even there or to help. I am disappointed. If they can’t even handle a tour then I don’t feel comfortable sending my child there for care. I absolutely LOVE this school/daycare, they have always been so willing to help my son transition from his first day ever at daycare, to learning his colors, numbers, letters, manners and they stick by the Christian principles. If you put in the time and effort to study and be here, then there is no reason to not succeed and if you didn't do those things, then you are 100% responsible for your failures, not the teachers, not this school. When I first came to the school to check it out I was super nervous, but they walked me through the whole campus showing me all the classrooms and explaining how everything goes. Once I saw all of that I was so excited to get started!!! I would totally recommend this college for anyone who’s looking to further their career. And for more generalized information this school was South West Florida College until it was bought out by a private institution and then was name Southern Technical College. So yes the price is more, its what you expect if you'd put your child in a private school; it would be more extra. So I'm sorry I do not agree with any comments. Financial representatives were amazing and still continue to be. And personally my teachers where there for me. They were always very lenient and gave credit when its due. Firstly, I just wanted to say I got the help I needed and this isn't related to childcare. So far, my experience at this school has been great. I'm a newer student at FGCU and I was trying to find my way around campus so I walk to the nearest place I could find. Not sure of the exact name but the little eagle learning center. I was met at the door by the center's director. I didn't catch a name but she had red hair. She did help me but I felt like she was very reluctant to guide me in the right direction. You know when someone just wants to get rid of you? That's how I felt. She wasn't very welcoming and I understand it may be due to a personal issue or the fact that they might not have wanted random visitors due to COVID-19 (but I had just stood outside because she was almost blocking me from entering). That's fine but I never stepped foot into the center. But honestly, she made me feel kind of foolish for asking for help. There wasn't any need to treat me as an annoyance. Nice school enjoyed my four years here, you’ll maybe use the beach a handful of times, it’s not that cool it’s a lake with gators, soar in 4 is a lie they only pay for your first year if you pay out of pocket, don’t use fafsa and don’t use florida prepaid or anything like that… the teachers are good some harder than others, attendance is mandatory in most classes with teacher’s having the liberty to cancel or not show up whenever, as if we, the students, don’t pay them… interesting, take lots of weird electives chances are you’ll enjoy them, the basketball team has fallen off since 2017 our baseball team and girls basketball is decent, no much of a party school so I guess it’s easy to focus on classes. Beautiful university, great professors, nice housing, good community, lots to do, lots of options for food, nature trails, lots of parking, easy to navigate, etc. Amazing university especially for environmental students. I love being a student here. Only complaint is that most of the general staff (not professors!) is rather unhelpful and difficult to work with. You constantly have to nag people and deal with incompetence just to get anything general done (housing, enrollment, fees, etc.). If you are a new student, try not to get discouraged by the incompetent staff because once you finally deal with the nonsense, the actual education and community aspects are worth it imo.Fish

I started attending this school my freshman year i thought it was a great school till Mrs.Morris became principle she doesn't know how to run a school and does a very lousy job of it. She promises the students things and we never get it. The students disrespect teachers and the teachers disrespect students. The teachers have strong favoritism and show it. This school went from a great school to a terrible school. Formerly known as Edison College, Florida Southwestern State College will only waste your life away. I earned two degrees from this institution thinking it'd help me land a job beyond a cashier position and it didn't do anything for me. Currently, I'm taking orders from goofy people with GEDs at my workplace (BTW, they're kids who are fifteen years younger). The only fifty thousand dollar a year jobs that have been offered to me were from pyramid schemes and scam MLM corporations. Go into the Army instead, they'll provide you with a decent career and you'll be taken care of. One other thing I may add is there's constant unnecessary construction on this campus because the administration rather waste its money on that instead of job-placement programs that would be beneficial for the students. * This college's main goal is to keep the student as a student for as long as possible. What I mean by this is that they will force you to take remedial courses, even though you don't need to take them. So when you finally receive your degree, your skills and education will be outdated thus putting you in the situation of returning to college–they make more money. I'm thankful we have a local college that continues to make itself better with each year. I'm receiving my AA in 3 credits and I have nothing but outstanding things to say about this school. My advisor has always been incredibly attentive to my needs, even down to offering book recommendations within my future major. I never feel rushed or unwanted.
