This was the last school in the world I wanted to attend, but having 3 school aged kids and a limited available schedule, I found that it was my only option. Upon enrolling I realized just how nice the school is. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and are always willing to help in any way they can. The education isn't mediocre either. I've met people that have transferred to a 4 yr. college from RACC and they told me some classes from RACC were more demanding and difficult that the ones they took in the 4 yr. college. Lastly, the cost of education at this school is very cheap, especially if you take in to consideration the quality level of education you receive while in attendance. If you're looking for a school to do minimal work just to receive a degree, this isn't the school for you (They expect you to work for your grades). However, if you're looking for a good school, with knowledgeable teachers and staff, a quality education that stands up to the rest, and tuition that doesn't cost a fortune; this school is exactly what you've been looking for! The only negative aspect I've found so far is the location… Other than that you won't be disappointed. 🙂Shanna Poindexter

I went to RACC for my associates and ALL the staff became a family for me. I love this place from day one. They were all very supportive and respectful. I happened to work at the security department under the work study program and I had the best supervisor anyone could ask for. Carmen Medina was a mother yo me. She was very supportive and empowering. Stacy was like a sister to me. Always keeping me smiling and always encouraging me. My coworkers were always supportive and patient with me. They trained me well and I was with them even after I graduated. I am so grateful for my RACC family. From financial aid staff, admission office, work study program coordinator Kim livingood, the student lab on Berks hall. To Maria at the front desk. Librarians, I love my GED teacher Maria Perez. RACC Is affordable and their curriculum is very well designed to prepare you for the bachelors. Danelle Bower is a great instructor and Dr Blakely. They prepare students to think outside the box. This school really sucks. It is for students who have no choice but to go to that school. Almost half the campus is on some kind of academic probation. The staff is not really helpful like they say they are. Only a small percentage of professors and staff really care about the students. The school tends to make decisions with the students money and spend it, without the current students knowledge. Parking is horrible at this campus and security is very minimal. So If you are looking for a safe, secure, educational environment where people actually respect you and care about your education. This is not the place for you. Where to start….. re-enrolling for business admin after a degree in admin. Pretty sure any of children in the children's center would have been better advisors than the first one I had as she passed me off to admissions, had no idea what she was talking about, and downright REFUSED to help me enroll in classes saying she "doesn't do that, you have to do that online but I can show you how on this computer." The next day the second gentleman was a little more helpful but again, got nowhere. Advising hold, needed a specific advisor for my program [he was the one to tell me that] but he at least got me a name. Meanwhile another advisor is emailing to set up an appointment [not the one I needed]. I contacted the one I needed, I'm not even eligible for that program due to a pre-req not being met [hours of time being wasted to find this out fyi]. Get in touch with the one that has been reaching out, my advising hold was magically lifted, no one claims to have done it, register for classes other guy cancels his appt, make payment #q all good now….. fast forward 2 weeks it's time to make payment #2. I go to the Bursar's office only to be turned away because the Bursar's office does not accept payments 😳😳. I'm starting to remember why I took an extremely long break and a long time to get my degree . I'm even contemplating paying the out of county fee to transfer up to LCCC…..Katie Fitzpatrick

Beginning of Fall Semester 2021, I was a P.T.K. honors, full scholarship recipient student here working on my second degree until I was profiled by one of the female EMT instructors who though it would be a great idea to complain to an armed police officer that I was in the hallway outside the classroom my oldest son (also a student at NCC) was attending. The officer (extremely nice and professional) instructed me not to wait for my son in the hallway anymore since one of "the female EMT instructor's" complained about me for waiting in the hallway, doing nothing wrong, but waiting for my son. The situation was quickly neutralized after showing the officer my credentials revealing to him that I myself am a EMS Chief as well as a NCC Student. The Fowler building has constant video surveillance on every floor if NCC staff wishes to investigate. This took place on the 3rd floor of the Fowler Center Building. I have since transferred as a result. I will no longer be attending or sending any of my children to NCC. Posting this now because of possible retaliation towards my son and I being NCC students at the time.John Rivera

On Friday May 31 2019 I did a self-guided tour of Northampton Community College. This was my first visit to this spacious campus. The campus is located about ten miles from downtown Bethlehem in a suburban almost country-like setting. The campus looked very modern to me. I walked through the sports building and there was a fitness center which was closed that day. Not sure if the school has a pool. There is also a north campus across the street. Student housing and Alumni Hall are located here. There are many parking lots and the school has its own campus police force. I cannot comment on the school itself since I did not go here nor do I know anyone that did.Richard K

Only my third month here studying the Medical Assistant program and I can genuinely say I love this school. What makes this specific Lincoln Tech amazing is the staff, never a gloomy day. I've had three different instructors and they are great, super personable and humorous, it really completes the learning experience. Coming from a 2 year gap of not being in school, I was afraid of how I would transition but they made it very smooth and fun. You get to meet relatable people that are in your situation as well, thank you Lincoln Tech, I cant wait to graduate so I can have nicer things to say about my experience.Diana

My time at Lincoln Technical Institute has been great. The teachers form close relationships with the students and personally help every student strive to be better. The small classroom setting and accelerated course can help you form close relationships with fellow students who will support you along the way as well. The facility is kept clean and tidy, and the bathrooms are nice as well. The atmosphere of Sylvan is impeccable and such a wonderful place to be around. Always positive with the teachers continually pushing you to strive and be the best you can be. They helped me boost my SAT score by 200 in a short span of two months guiding me into getting into my dream college of Drexal University. I thought to try Sylvan for my 5 years old twin’s reading (just reading not maths) and inquired. They told me $392 per month for the first kid and $362 for second kid. The price is crazy, more than $750 per month for 5 years old kids for their basic reading class to learn reading two or three letter words. It was crazy. Sylvan Learning Center was able to help me with a lot of my homework as well as SAT studying. The teachers are very patient and will assist you with anything you need help with. It is a great work space and it's easy to get work done. The receptionist was rude overly confident and way too important to even offer prospective students a hand in the enrollment process. The Literacy Center is in dyier need of an Executive Director. A Director who is willing to change up there current enrollment procedure. A director who is willing to take a more unorthodox approach to the enrollment process. A Director who will offer the public the option of filling out a paper application and not worry about the amount of time it would take to transpose the information from paper to digital. As an employer, they make it impossible to speak with someone over the phone and they do not respond to emails in a timely manner (but they expect everyone else to get things back to them within a day or two, regardless of when received. They send out letters that arrive 10 days after the supposed date they were mailed out, and they have the most antiquated system for logging in to the web portal. By far, the biggest disappointment is the fact that they will happily hand out unemployment compensation to people who quit without reason and then they leave it up to the employer to justify why the employer should not be responsible to pay that compensation. I have been on hold with them for over 2 hours and then finally when someone answers the phone, they tell me, "I'm sorry, the letter doesn't tell you what option to push, but you didn't push the correct one, so I am not "able" (willing) to help you. It's very disheartening because there are people who are deserving of unemployment compensation but I feel the office is incapable at figuring out who is deserving and who is not. If they can't even handle answering the phone, how can they handle the real issues? This has been an ongoing issue with unemployment in the L.V. and it was supposed to be overhauled and handled better. I feel it has gotten far worse over the past few years and will only continue to get worse.The Caring Connection

Called this morning to make an appointment to get a few things done, including an issue with UC. Janet took my call around 8:15 AM and did not miss a beat with answers to many of my questions. The PA CareerLink Office has some restrictions in place at this time; however, Janet sent me the links I needed, via email, and put me on the list to speak with an UC agent. Fe Foundation High School Summer Entrepreneurship Presentations On Wednesday, July 20th six teams comprising of 10th and 11th graders will be sharing the business problem that they would like to address. These student entrepreneurs are taking part in a week long entrepreneurship camp hosted by the CIE. Students represent Lehigh and Northampton County school districts. I attended from 2018-2020 to get a couple of associates degrees after a career change. I think this is the best school I have been to so far. I have taken courses at multiple university's and I will say the curriculum and the standard that the professors hold the students here is on par or exceeds what the other schools/university's offered me. Going through both the University route and the community college route, I would recommend any student, unless you obtain a full ride of course, to go through community college because of a few reasons. 1. Cost, if you get your generals done at a CC you can do the rest of your focused studies at a university and you will have saved a lot of money and may have possibly qualified for additional scholarships and grants to continue your education that you might not have before. 2. Readiness. If you are not sure you are ready for University studies a great place to test it out is a CC. It is a great barometer and often just as challenging as University courses. If you can do LCCC then you can do University and most would say it the other way around. 3. The professor's. Professors at CCs are often more in touch with their students and I believe they foster a great environment in which to ask questions and get individual help. I had some great professors at LCCC and some I still keep in contact with. Don't get me wrong, you can find good personable professors at a University, but just not as readily. That being said LCCC provided me all of these things and I would recommend anybody going to a CC and particularly LCCC. It is a great growing school with a lot of programs to study. The campus is in a nice location in Schnecksville and has plenty areas to study and learn. Oh and the bookstore is wack like I have seen from other reviewers, but it didn't drop the rating by a star for me.Trevor Lanning

My girlfriend is currently in the CDL program and paid $5,430~ to be three weeks into a four week course and has not yet been on the road yet. Last I check it was a DRIVING school not spend the entire time backing up trailers school. They were told that the second week they would be in the trucks driving yet the head instructor or whatever he is says they "aren't ready". Now they are on the last week. Monday, an instructor will be out and so no one will get road time that day. They expect all 8 people at the Luzerne location to be fully competent in their ability to drive an 18 wheeler inside of three days. To put it into perspective they have 2 trucks and 8 students and 8 hours a day. Each student MIGHT get 6 hours of driving. Total waste of money. You can get your CDL for a third of that price with more knowledge by reading the CDL book from PennDOT yourself, having a friend with their CDL take you out in their truck or a rental from Ryder and then after enough practice go take the test. Either they need to step up the education or it's simply not worth it. Hell, Prime would've been a better option but they only have automatics and that results in an automatic restriction.Turbo Lag

I am a student at Lehigh carbon community college. * The financial aid staff are very helpful they will help you get all the loans student financial aid you can think of and a few you haven't thought of. * The business office very professional. * When it comes to the professors I give them a c average. The English literature class be wary. The best way I can describe it is think like Rodney Dangerfield and back to school. Where you can get your information concerning a article book or other writing from the professor's own biography and you will be wrong. The English literature department does not allow creativity of any kind. * Their legal and business and nursing courses are some of the best You can ever find. The campus is very clean very organized and the administrative staff is super helpful. My three-star rating is based solely upon the professors If you're not going to go into the legal field or nursing field take your genetic courses at Lehigh carbon and then transfer.Bobby A

She helped me so much throughout my freshman year as i was really struggling with school, now I’m a junior and am doing very well, and she is a big part of that. I took the adult education CNC/Precision Machine course and I can tell you 100% that if you do not already work in a manufacturing type of environment or machine shop this is not the class for you. The only successful students in the class already had at least a year of professional experience or had taken prior machine classes. Absolute waste of time and money. Also, I am not sure if the same instructor is still teaching the course so I will not post his name (he told the entire class multiple times he didn't think he wanted to teach anymore) but he had a very negative attitude that myself and at least one other student found to be very detrimental to our chances of learning. Oh and the same instructor told us that CNC training was just "bonus" if we got through the manual machine training. Point is if you want to learn CNC and you're out of high school already, don't waste your money.Anthony P

I had no clear path nor desires in middle school, then I attended LCTI for 4 years during high school. It was a life changer at the least. I wasn't the best at academics but I did have a passion in computers/coding. I met an amazing teacher & also staff at the school that felt more like a family. LCTI will open so many doors that you never knew were in sight. I highly recommended LCTI to anyone that is wanting to further their education in technical, medical, construction and any of the programs they offer. If you're a good kid that focuses on yourself and not drama this school is for you, if not they won't accept you or you'll get the boot. 10/10 Life changing experiences and I would go back any day.Jeffrey Reed

I really like going to LCTI. I started going there from 2011 to 2015 (when I graduated). I like meeting and getting know some students and teachers. There are some ups and downs, but I try to get past it. The class I went to was Mr. Shaner's Material Handling and Logistics. I really enjoyed that lab. In my fourth and final year, I became one of the leaders and it was great. Like Parkland, sometimes I wish I can reset time and start all over again. I like LCTI. The school is okay but there are a few things. First, when you live far away from the school they don’t help out on what bus you have to take or how to work it out. Secondly, you got to go almost all over the school to find your class, if the teachers help you out it’s still confusing, the place is huge. And finally the schedules are confusing. Sure the teachers do help you, but when it talks about having a first or second period and what time do you report to school. I went for the Covid 19 Vaccine. Signs directed me where to go, both outside while driving and inside for the vaccine. The whole process was quick and (mostly) painless. Keep your vaccine card handy. I came here for both shots. They scheduled me for the 2nd dose before I left the first time. Expect to sit and wait at least 15 minutes after they give you the shot incase you have a reaction. Everyone I encountered were friendly and helpful. They made sure I understood the process.David Haines

I went 3 weeks ago for my first vaccine shot. The line was so long because there was a glitch that day. I arrived at 115 pm for a 130 pm appt. I was out in 1 hr 20 minutes 🙂 My 2nd shot, 8 people in line then more arrived. 1st vacciners went first then 2nd vacciners. I was out in 35 minutes. It's impossible to reach someone and then when you reach someone you need to be transferred 10x. I been emailing a advisor to schedule a appointment and she takes long to respond and avoids scheduling a specific time. This school makes it hard to assist the general population in the area. I have yet to get general information over weeks they just want you to apply and join classes without any assistance and known for telling you to take classes that aren't needed.D C

I got approved for the GED program. Scored a 12.9+ on every pretest. Came in early and everyday I was suppose too. I took my math pretest. Showed I was ready to take test. I ask support administrator for tutoring to reinforce any areas I'm not secure in. She tells me she'll look. It's been 3 weeks and every call I have to refresh her brain. No words are powerful enough to explain how horrible it is if you have to deal with this location for any reason. There is NEVER any parking close to this establishment. Besides the lot always being full beyond max capacity there's also never any street parking either. If you or someone you're taking there has trouble walking, or can't walk far, you're in for some unexpected obstacles. There is nowhere to safely drop off a patient with limited mobility, while you go on a hunt for somewhere to park hopefully within a 2 block radius. If you have trouble parallel parking this ia not the place for you. The extra cars overcrowding the parking lot take up the space needed to get in and out of the lot itself. This happens because there are people waiting in their cars in random open areas of the lot that are not marked spaces. People are rude, careless, unconcerned, and unprofessional. type expect to receive. There's an overwhelming lack of respect for anyone as a person and you have a better chance at finding the Easter bunny than you do finding a staff member that actually listens to what you're saying or even cares. The doctors are unprofessional and purposely try to make you jump through hoops in order to get them to fill your needed medications. On one specific instance I was taking a friend of mine there and the doctor was rude, insisted there was nothing wrong with my friend (the patient), insisted the medication he was prescribed was for depression but he takes it as a way to treat chronic pain. After getting into a little debate with the doctor over the medication she proceeded to verbally state he was over exaggerating his level of pain and still persisted that nothing was wrong with him. Only after having to resort to raising his voice and getting stern back, telling the doctor to check his chart/medical records and look at the results of his MRI did the doctor take the time to look over his records. Her face turned bright red as she had to admit he was suffering from 2 torn rotators in his shoulders. On another occasion he was prescribed medication for high blood pressure and when he took it he almost died and had to be rushed to the emergency room by ambulance because he couldn't see, hear, stand or walk. The medication dropped his pressure so low he almost had heart failure. They prescribed this because for 3 consecutive visits his pressure was elevated but that was due to the endless frustrations and HOURS in the waiting room before you see a doctor, you have to argue with the doctors to get them to give you your medication, and all this is after walking blocks to get to the office from how far away you had to park. The whole experience is aggravating so of course people might have raised numbers in their blood pressure. Just the thought of having to go there can stress anyone out and force them to have an anxiety attack. And one other thing I'd like to mention, on another fun filled trip to see the doctor there, we waited in the waiting room for over an hour, then we waited for another hour in the exam room before we started hearing the office staff begin saying good bye to each other because they were leaving since it was the end of the workday. It was at that time I went out of the exam room to find out what was going on. When I was able to find someone after 10 or 20 seconds of me wandering around the office. I was asked where did I come from. I replied with the exam room where we've been waiting over an hour and a half to see the doctor. She instructed me to go back to the exam room and the doctor would be in shortly. That's when we heard tow or three staff members quietly talking amongst themselves saying they forgot we were in there, asked if the doctor was still there or did she leave already and then one of them said she was still there in the break room eating dinner!!!! Every experience going here has not been a good one and I absolutely do not recommend going hereKorina

I love my DRs there, they are very attentive and spend the time I need. I also get all referrals to testing that I want for services that are important to me. They really listen and I didn't have that in the past even with the "best insurance" going to so-called better places. I'd highly recommend this facility for many needs. I am a patient here at Neighborhood Health Centers of the Lehigh Valley. They are absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond for their patients. The service I get here is phenomenal. One person helps me with food, another person helps me with housing, another person helps me with bus passes, and then there's the main Doctor. I have my own treatment team here.
