I pay thousands for my child to live in a glorified closet with a bunch of strangers (living in the dorms is required of course) and then I find out that there is basically no laundry here. The dryers don’t work. We’ve made complaints, my daughter has submitted maintenance requests, and still nothing. The best they can do is put an out of order sign on the machines and call the problem fixed. Apparently they occasionally remove the signs despite nothing being fixed. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is to leave your clothes in the dryer for an hour only to come back to a soggy pile of clothes. If it’s the dryer company to blame, then get a new company, but until then I would consider finding a loophole to live off campus or go somewhere else.Regina Pycroft

Great campus with many great programs! I have multiple friends who go here and they all seem like they are excelling compared to myself! Their aviation program seems like it is one of the best around and have multiple friends going here for that reason! I have also heard very good things about the education majors. The campus is very safe and really well laid out. The buildings look very modern! Downtown has very nice places to eat, hang out, shop, and party! The wifi is a tad slow and I'm not sure why, but it is livable. The weather is very cold in the winter because of wind and the landscape being so flat, but they do have public transportation to get to classes and other buildings/ places.Collin “A1C Sherwood” Sherwood

Sunday after Christmas took a nostalgic campus tour. It was great, no one was around and I could just stroll about. Started counting new buildings, that have appeared since my days on campus and decided it was easier to count the one that I knew, that were still there. Even my old dorm was gone! South Hall, my speech and theatre homebase was renamed. But get this, the Bursar's building was gone too, if they would have asked I would have helped tear that one down. I love Columbus State and this is why: Before Columbus State: Growing up, I was never interested in the information taught in school, because I did not feel like it was applicable to the real world. After a year at a private college, I was originally apprehensive to restart college at any college. I was also scared of a community college. I grew up in Michigan, and I felt like our local community colleges had negative stigmas attached to them. Luckily, my older brother took me into the application office in Delaware, OH to take the entrance exam. I believe I tested out of an english and/or a math class. While at Columbus State: I would like to note that I always attended C-State as I held a part time job (10-20 hours a week). I originally attended an EMT-B class at Columbus State. The class was more challenging than I had anticipated and was pretty time consuming. I received a B in this course, but found employment immediately in the field and felt confident in my skills. A year later, I returned to C-State with the desires to go to nursing school. Thanks to ample meetings with advisors in Health and Human Services, I decided to take some prerequisite nursing classes as there was a waiting list to apply for their nursing program (while I worked part time as an EMT-B). During this year, I found more confidence in my work and studies, feelings of support and encouragement from staff, and rewards from hard work. I was also able to sign up easily for academic accommodations for the first time in my life! I loved my time at Columbus State within this year! I never thought I would love school or receive my first 4.0 GPA in the spring and summer semesters. For the first time, school finally felt fulfilling for me. After Attending Columbus State: I decided to leave C-State after a full academic year, and I pursued a BSN degree through another local school. I often look back at my time at C-State and regret that I did not take more classes here while saving a decent amount of money! I would suggest night classes if you are willing and able. I found that students were more likely to be hard working, more mature, disciplined, and also employed. I also found professors who taught night classes were often from OSU and more understanding. Generally my teachers were all very competent, funny, and held experience in the world. The only negative experience that I found was dealing with C-Stat's Police department staff and accessing their gym/locker room. Students must sign up manually for the gym locker rooms every semester at C-State's Police department and then wait for several days for your card to be accepted from security/police. This system seems dated and non-productive. I feel like this process should be easily automated. This issue led to a negative experience I had with a police officer that identified as Sergeant Diamond. I felt like this officer escalated my personal situation while being disrespectful and patronizing. Another time I was eating a meal in my car between classes when a police car pulled up to me and asked why I was parked between two spots in an empty parking lot and then asked me to pick a spot. I'm sure the police department deals with things they don't want to. I could have been lucky and experienced two poor attitudes on hard days, but I do not feel like the police department is fulfilling their mission that states they want to provide "exceptional customer service" for their students based on my only two experiences with them. I would take a look at how the police staff is trained at C-State.Connor Hill

I have enjoyed Columbus State and majority of the people I’ve met here while on track to my BA but this college needs some serious restructuring. The biggest thing I wish Cstate would look into is their faculty. When I go to ratemyprofessor.com and see many of them at a 1 to 2 star rating, that concerns me. I have personally had good and bad professors here and majority of the good ones were adjunct professors, the bad ended up being tenured faculty. I wish the college would look into the gripes students have and start to question whether or not they should be hiring adjunct professors to replace them. The only other major issue I’ve had is from advisors. The point of the advisor is to advise the student on their education path, but when I have a genuine question or concern, interrupting/having a snarky attitude doesn’t come off as professional to me. One last thing, please talk with the finance department about putting a budget together for another parking garage. I don’t go during peak hours anymore but when I did parking was atrocious. It will be 6 weeks this semester (Spring 2019) before CSCC releases financial aid refunds. I cannot believe they get away with this! OSU is 9 days after the start of the semester! Some people rely on these excess funds to survive another semester of school! This should be illegal and I’m pretty sure it is because according to federal financial aid funds are to be released up to a max of 14 days after the start of a semester! Insane to make people wait 6 weeks+ to receive their refund. Also, parking is obnoxious here any time of day. It also seems to me that each department does not have a good linear structure of teaching so each professor is just kind of doing their own thing whichever way they feel like doing it. Some classes are too long some are too short. It really feels like no one is in control here it’s just a free for all I guess. Employees are not friendly in any way shape or form. Honestly, should have listened to everyone discrediting this school. Cheaper ain't better. This school has stressed me out and I've only been attending for one semester. They keep changing my aid amount, will not reimburse my refund and all together have made my college experience a nightmare in hell especially with me working full-time. It always something new going on with my financial information for the following semester and new requirements that were completed prior to me attending resurfacing. Who has the time to keep re-ensuring that they're getting the money they already previously accepted? It doesn't matter how early you send your FAFSA in, they will find a way to have it reprocessed so late that you won't recieve the amount you already accepted. Very poor experience, people don't care about the disabled students, they had charged me over $1k for not helping me get into my classes and they've abandoned me in 2010. One star for absolute failure. Edit: 9/14/2022 this so-called trio program from Owens community college isn't helpful not resourceful of how am I supposed to go to college, they sign me up late not knowing I'm missing out on my assignments and these advisors in the school are lazy and rude like they don't care for the disabled students such as myself. Attended Owens and completed an Associates degree in 2001. Returned to a local area 4 year college to complete a Bachelor of Science. Due to the high cost and mediocre experience. I chose to take as many transfer classes as possible at Owens. A full time semester was a fraction of a 4 year college semester. Pretty rigorous course material and most importantly, courses are well structured, you could actually work ahead following the syllabus. Students and staff are pleasant. Have my 4 year degree, and returning to Owens for certificate programs to fill in the gaps from said 4 year college curriculum.Brent A.

I enrolled in the Adult Cosmetology two year program here and from the start my experience was mediocre. During my time there I had teachers come and go, I had 3 teachers through out the program. The first 'instructor' for the first year was more interested in being your friend then a teacher. Talked poorly about other students when they were not around and was more interested in getting her own hair colored the majority of the time instead of teaching. She favorited students and had a lack of caring. Our second instructor was there for a couple months and I had sadly learned more from her in those few months then I had with my first instructor. Our third instructor was the best by far, if only we had had her from the beginning. Now the school itself is shady. A few students and myself were prepared to graduate in July until the head of the Adult Education program came to us and said we had to be done with the program by June, 4 weeks prior. If we did not finish that was on us. I would not recommend this school to ANYONE. Find a better school that will provide you with the best education possible and is worth your money.Marissa Walczak

Best schooling I’ve ever done. my instructor ms.hasan was the best teacher I’ve ever had,she really cared about her students and making sure everyone got everything and made sure you brought the best out of you. I was pursing my Bachelors Degree but had to leave college due to unforeseen financial difficulties. I was looking for a job in the IT field but no one wants to hire you unless you have years of experience. I had heard about the Per Scholars program and decided it would be a great option in getting the experience I needed in order to obtain a job that would pay enough for me to go back to college. I attended the orientation which was very informative. Passed both reading and math TABE exams, filled out all the forms, submitted all the necessary documents, and took both assessments for their engineering programs. I have yet to hear back from the program on whether or not I passed the last assessments. Its been over 2 weeks! I've emailed, called, left messages and haven't heard back from anyone. Classes start next month, and I'm stuck! I've turned down numerous jobs thinking this program would be great for me. I appreciate programs like Per Scholas trying to uplift communities, especially minority communities, but this really is a shame.deKKo 213

Perscholas has changed my life dramatically and will always have a place in my heart and in my Future. The instructors are amazing. They work with you to help you become the best person you can be. I am A+ certified and working on my Network+. I am an alumni from Perscholas. The admissions director does a fantastic job at recruiting people who are determined and hard working individuals. My classmates were very helpful and diverse. I recommend this program to anyone who has a passion for IT and wants a great career. The course is 15 weeks. Not only do you get hands on IT training, but you also get business development. You have a separate instructor who helps build you resume and confidence to get you interview ready. Complete lack of communication with this school. No preparation emails regarding upcoming school year or events that are occurring. Nothing provided as to what our students need to be admitted to specific programs. As a result of a medical concern, my student struggled throughout the school year and significantly at the end. Absolutely no communication from the teachers or office staff. One teacher (now retired) told me "they should know what to do in the case of not attending class in person". Only one other teacher responded and was the only one with compassion. Once a diagnosis was provided, absolutely no aid was provided and my student was denied additional services or testing (for IEP). Even now my student failed 2 classes. I happen to keep up with their grades, but NO ONE from the school ever contacted me about these concerning behaviors nor advised us as to what our options were to make up these classes. I just graduated from Penta. I was in Business Office Tecnologies for 2 years. I was also in the Transition to work program for 1 year. Penta is a great school! Not only I made new friends, but I also learned everything I needed to know for life in general. The teachers truly care for their students and they want them to succeed. They also help you apply for colleges you want to go to and they support you. They even give you your passport when you graduate. I miss Penta so much and always will. This college has made a terrible impression. They got me admitted as a transfer student, and I have been preparing for the Fall session online, but to appear in person, and I just found out I missed the registration deadlines because student advising never got back to me. I took the new student orientation and the professor, just skimmed through all the info. There wasn't time for questions, and she cut it short by 30 minutes. It didn't even explain how to register online. I had been in communication and prepared for this session but didn't understand how to register so all the classes I had 'added to my schedule' weren't actually registered, and no one followed up with my questions. I thought I was registered, and even as I try to register now after the fact, it still says I need student advising which no one ever got back to be except for an email to say I already had everything set up. I am torn about this. Now I have to wait another session to get started?! NO! I will take my education somewhere where I can actually get assistance. This is such an emotional drag.Gabrielle Flores

Great education facility, and great adult ed program. Hugely improved from what it was ten years ago when I went for welding. David Guinn, the adult ed department head, is a man who really cares about the school and the students. If you sign up for the advanced manufacturing technology adult ed course, you will get a lot of great hands on experience, as well as a complete knowledge base. A piece of advice about the advanced manufacturing technology instructors: let Steve Abner do most of the teaching you receive, he is simply better at teaching. The other instructor, who co-teaches the course alongside him, Jeff, has his moments where he can really shine, but don't let him push you around and mess with you too much. My experience with Jeff has been mostly him telling stories about all the places he has traveled to and worked at, and telling me to "figure it out" and not actually helping or explaining things, or teaching, whenever I asked him for help or to explain something, and micromanages you. You might as well be learning without an instructor if Jeff is involved, because you are not being taught, anyway. Don't let him push you around, and turn to Steve for help and instruction.Kaenyn

Attending WCCC has been great. I'm almost finished with the PLC Technician classes. For someone working and attending Adult Education classes, I have had a great experience of getting to work at my pace. There is always something to learn and another skill to work on. I went to this gym daily 4ish years ago and moved away. I tried so hard to find something comparable within my budget and it was impossible. Luckily we just moved back to the area and I’m hooked again! Best workout I’ve ever had. Been back at it for a week and I’ve already lost weight and started building muscle. Another bonus is it’s the only gym I feel comfortable going to even when I’m out of shape. Truly is a judgement free zone. The app is difficult to schedule classes through and two months in a row I was shorted the number of classes I paid for. The first month I contacted via text the manager to notify her that I was short credits. She posted them back to my account and gave me an extra two weeks to use them. When the same thing happened the second month, I wasn’t too concerned given how easily it was handled the first month. I contacted the studio on 25 April to let them know that I was shorted four credits. They responded that they couldn’t give me the credits because the billing cycle would end on April 27. So I paid $109 for four pure barre classes for the month of April. I let the manager know that I would be filing a complaint with my credit card company for the four classes I did not receive. Subsequently my credit card company has credited back $40.09 to my account. Today I received a bill from pure barre for $154. When calling the customer service number I found out that I am now being charged the entire month’s-amount plus a late fee plus a fee for the credit card dispute. I already paid the entire month and only disputed the portion for classes that I didn’t receive. I would be very cautious giving this company your credit card information and I would take extra time to understand the contract you are agreeing to. I was told if I do not pay this $154 that it would be sent to collections. It’s very unfortunate that this is how they handle customer issues, because I liked the classes and the instructors.John & Courtney

I haven’t been disappointed in the ethics of business like this in a long time. I bought a one month membership and was placed immediately, days after purchase, on a Covid wing assignment in Southern Ohio. I called back immediately and said I wouldn’t be able to attend and can I please have a refund. I had not even taken one class. They said they would extend my membership by a week, which would do nothing so I sent them an email further clarifying the situation expecting them to be like, ‘oh my goodness, we didn’t understand, of course.’ Their response was that, ‘this is a really good deal.’ I was shocked. I emailed them back in disbelief…’are you really not refunding me?’ They didn’t even have the courtesy to email me back. I was kind, polite and patient and they are literally stealing from clients as there was no exchange of goods for services paid. So if you have a busy schedule, or for any reason may need to cancel, these are the ethics of the people you are dealing with. Just go in knowing that.Lindsey B

If you have ever thought about trying Pure Barre, stoping thinking and go take a class!! Not only are the classes a great work out, the instructors are amazing! Each instructor, and class is totally different. The instructors are so helpful, and tailor the class to fit every fitness level. They all have such a great amount of energy, you leave class feeling excited about the rest of your day. The music, the atmosphere, I could go on and on! There are great incentives to continue taking classes. The retail part has a great variety. The availability of classes are really convenient, as well as the location. I recently got a puppy, German Shepherd and Giant Schnauzer mix. I had very little experience with big dogs previously. Signed up for the puppy socialization classes and have 0 complaints. Every trainer and every staff member I've spoken to is polite, knowledgeable and passionate. The booklet they gave out had valuable info and I refer to it regularly. I've learned a lot, my dog has learned a lot, and I feel excited to learn more. They sell good quality food and treats, toys, and their classes are great. 100% going to be proceeding with their levels and adolescent courses. Don't be deterred by any price you see on their courses – they're crazy good value and will make you feel welcome. They don't push extra things on you, and I genuinely feel like they care about both me and my dog. I purchased their Levels Training Package and will recommend it to everyone I know!! The trainers are friendly, knowledgeable, and start every session with personally asking what each pup family would like to work on in class and at home. They also provide a ton of advice regarding food, training tools, and anything else you could ever imagine. It’s so nice how their classes are set like a gym membership. I can go to class 4 times a week, or just once if it’s a busy time. Either way, I never feel like I’m lost or that things are too fast-paced. I have loved getting to know the others in class, as everyone is so friendly and genuinely enjoys each other’s dogs. Let’s Train! also makes sure reactive, fearful, excited, and loud dogs are able to enjoy class and learn in the best way possible while also respecting others in class and making sure everyone is safe. This is such a great training facility for dogs. I took my dog, Kyrie, here after we received a gift card from a family member, and he LOVED it. Unfortunately, we were unable to continue our training because my dog got bit (at daycare, NOT HERE) and had to have surgery. We were also in the process of moving, and it wasn't possible to continue our membership. We genuinely miss training and I know my dog also misses it. This is an amazing facility and I recommend it to everyone! If you want your dog to be better trained and have better manners, please take your dog here. You will both enjoy it!!!Mackenzie McNair

After 3 1/2 months in the hospital my husband came home in February needing nursing care and therapy services. He had several chest tube wound sites. The nurse came out one day to evaluate and change his dressing and to address medication issues from his discharge- she said she wouldn't be his regular nurse, but someone would be out. Never saw another nurse and I took care of the dressings and sorted the medication issues myself. PT came out until he could make it from our home to the garage. The occupational therapist, Christine has continued to come out weekly and has really helped him progress and get stronger. He received a call yesterday from a nurse calling to schedule an appointment to discharge him from services…it's probably fine since he can do much more on his own….but really? Nursing hasn't been around in 2 months, and they get to decide?? As a health care professional myself, it doesn't make much sense to me. Grateful for the therapy he has received, but disappointed in the lack of nursing care and follow through.Leigh Lesniewski

This is my first experience with home health and I am very happy with the Therapy staff. Colleen from physical therapy and Melissa from occupational therapy are the best! They were so positive and kind when I first met them. Melissa is the OT who works with me, and brought me a tub bar and all the equipment I needed. I needed a little encouragement as I have never had a major health issue. I had hip surgery and I was afraid to move! She encouraged me so much that I am able to shower now. Lauren the physical therapy assistant was very good with working on my confidence with going up and down the steps. If I ever need anything in the future, I will only use Med1care. My fear I felt before they started was so high, now I am able to do almost everything that I could do before and it has only been 2 or 3 weeks. They are a great knowledgeable team. I recently had neck and spine surgery. Med 1 was there to help me within a couple of days after I got home from the hospital. My nurse, Trish, was very kind and let me know what I could expect. My physical therapists, Colleen and Lauren, were very helpful in showing me the exercises I needed to regain my strength and making sure I understood how to do them. My occupational therapists, Melissa and Danielle, were also helpful in instructing me in ways I could strengthen and regain the use of my left hand. Each of these wonderful ladies who helped me were very professional and friendly, and always willing to take the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions. Lindsey, the person who did my nails, was wonderful. She had her hair pulled back onto a bun. Her front part of her hair was slicked back. I commented on how beautiful it was. I learned that she did not follow the recommended standard regarding hair style. Consequently, he school scores have suffered. I felt her style to be classic and professional. I love my new brows! My brows have changed the entire look of my face! I was tired of having to fill in my brows everyday and having to worry about how they looked after swimming and working out. The two day workshop exceeded my expectations. 5 stars is not enough to describe how phenomenal this Public Speaking Training Course was. I was fully engaged throughout. It was filled with a variety of fun exercises that build and improve on your presentation skills. This was by far the most practical workshop I’ve ever attended. At the end of day one, I came away with solid techniques to practice and hone into skills. There are a lot of opportunities to practice and get feedback, both from other participants and the instructor, which was invaluable. Speaking of instructors, Mike was fantastic! He understands public speaking/presenting so well and can quickly assess your shortcomings and provide immediate ways to improve. He’s also super supportive and confidence boosting. Petmassage changed my dogs life! I have a 6 year old pitbull who has an old injury to one of his hind legs. The vet was concerned for a possible ligament injury and recommended medication that would help with the pain, but in turn sedate him so he wouldn’t be as active. They said surgery wasn’t an option just yet. My Pup would often use the injured leg as little as possible, even at times having difficulty making it up the stairs or jumping onto his favorite place, the couch. After research, i found pet massage. After the first session I noticed improvement in his ability to walk. He started to use the injured leg more often than not. After the second session, he is walking and running normally! Like nothing ever happened! He climbs up stairs with ease, jumps onto the couch, and plays like he is a puppy. I can’t say enough great things about PatMassage, LTD. Jonathan Rudinger is awesome. The vet could not figure out what was wrong with my 11 year old dog. Smoky was not able to go up and down my front porch step or get into or out of my car withot me lifting him. The medication that the vet gave me made Smoky worse. After one Water massage session my dog was able to go up and down my front porch step and get in and out of the car. In addition, regular massage sessions have brought my dog back to life. Smoky is now able to walk a mile and a half. I am forever grateful for all that Jonathan Rudinger and his staff did for Smoky. Having just completed the PetMassage Foundation Level Workshop, I'm so glad that I decided to travelled from Queensland, Australia to Toledo, Ohio. The PetMassage Foundation Level Workshop is a wonderful introduction to a very natural, gentle and empathetic way of connecting with a dog. Glass City K9 is amazing! We highly recommend. We have a puppy that we believe to be a pit/lab mix. She is a ball of energy and after an initial attempt at training in one of the group classes with a different company we felt hopeless. When we discovered Glass City K9 we decided to give training classes another shot (clearly we needed help). Their approach to training is completely different from others and it works! After just one session we felt much more control over our little girl. We still have one more lesson to go and we are so proud of how far we have come. I never would’ve guessed our dog would actually listen to our commands and not think of herself of the boss. Glass City K9 is most definitely worth the money!Austin Burkhart

I would just like to warn future clients to carefully consider the training and to shop around prior to purchasing. Regretfully I did not read the fine print in the service agreement and am out the $500.00 deposit after cancelling after the 1st visit. My dog was very anxious and distracted by other dogs barking and nipped at the trainer when being forced to a sitting position. I felt that the $1700.00 training fee for 8 one hour visits was excessive considering the level of professionalism shown by the trainer. I learned when I cancelled the training that I would lose the $ 500.00 deposit. Wishing I would have done my homework .Charlena Mawer

Junior and Dave helped us out so much! We were just about to throw in the towel with our rescue dog Brian (boxer Shar-pei)who was territorial and protective of us. He now listens to us and doesn’t charge the fence and try to jump it. They also helped with our 10 year old Basset Hound who gets very anxious and barks non-stop whenever people visit. He walks now without sniffing every blade of grass! Our 8year old chihuahua learned some new commands as well! They all walk nice now too! Amazing! I would highly recommend the Exercise Coach Perrysburg to anyone looking to get in shape or improve their fitness in a non-intimidating atmosphere. Celebrating my 1 year birthday at Exercise Coach Perrysburg – I've found it to be an amazing program to build muscle, strength and range of motion – with a side effect of slimming down. I walked into the program with lots of aches and pains…. and the expectation that was what aging meant. Exercise Coach Perrysburg has proved me wrong…. a year later I move with more purpose and walk taller and without most of the issues I was dealing with before. And that physical impact has also made for a wonderful mental impact – as I don't feel my body will betray me any more and I move thru my days with more confidence and overall happier.I look forward to each visit… find the trainers to be encouraging, knowledgable and helpful!And I still am amazed I get that much from a commitment to give it my all just for 20 minutes, two times a week!!Deborah Ponzio

I started exercising at the Exercise Coach in Perrysburg about 6 months ago and am loving the results! I am stronger than I have been in years and the added strength has helped me have less back/neck pain and more energy! I'm been very impressed with the science behind the methods used at the Exercise Coach. Being able to maximize every minute so my exercise time has the maximum impact is important to me.
