A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

Being a learner in Cantonese for about three years, I've mostly been doing self study, meetups, and learning from native speakers to pick up Cantonese. After awhile, I felt that I needed some structure and direction with my learning. So I reluctantly told myself to find a learning center that teaches Cantonese. In the past, I've avoided finding language classes because I felt that the "traditional classroom setting" wasn't the best way to learn a language; taking notes, studying, and passing a test wasn't "learning a language." Thankfully my leap of faith with Hills Learning removed those preconceptions. I found Hills Learning via a Google search for Cantonese classes. It wasn't the top search when I was looking, but I gave it a shot since finding cost efficient language classes in Cantonese are hard to come by. So I gave Hills Learning a try. I do not regret having made this choice. The class size was relatively small – which can be a good thing if you need more individualized attention. Since these classes were small, it felt more personal and it encouraged everyone to participate more in the class – what's the point of a language if you don't try speaking! There were lesson notes given at the start of each class, material to go over, and of course homework. But what Hills Learning does well is their approach to conducting the class. There's a stress in role-playing and interacting with your fellow students. More time is devoted to practicing speaking the material for that day's class, than just memorizing it. My teacher was very thorough and patient with all the students. My class had a curriculum, but it moved at a pace that tried to satisfy most of the students. Also the topics and material that were taught I felt were really relevant to how I would use Cantonese. Many books start you off with lessons that wouldn't seem relevant to your day-to-day use of Cantonese, or they would be very technical with little real-world examples and usage. The materials in the class taught me how to discuss weather, sickness, buying an apartment, going around town, etc. just to name a few, and coupled with technical points on grammar usage. Hills Learning's classes cover all bases well on teaching a language – grammar, speaking, memorizing. Oh wait, there's more! Private lessons! My initial exposure to Hills Learning was through private lessons. I didn't feel confident enough to partake in classes, and I wasn't sure on how good Hills Learning was so I tested the waters with private lessons. My Cantonese private lesson teacher conducted the first lesson to gauge my level, and tailored the rest of the lessons to how fast I picked up the material. The material that was taught was a mixture of what I wanted to learn along with stuff my teacher felt I needed to know. Just like the classes, the private lessons stressed speaking one-on-one after spending the first few minutes of class going over the material. Also the private lessons are very flexible because the time and place of each lesson is determined by the availability of both the teacher and student. I felt that taking private lessons well prepared me – in terms of knowledge and confidence – to take the classroom sessions. Overall, Hills Learning has been and still is my best source for learning Cantonese. I've been with them for about 8 months, and I definitely feel a large improvement in my vocabulary, conversational skills, and confidence in speaking. I would highly recommend Hills Learning for any Cantonese learners out there who are considering taking their learning to the next level, and are on the fence about taking classes. Note: I've recently taken Korean language classes at 3 different institutions: Hills Learning, the Korea Society, and the Korean Culture Center. (I'm writing reviews of all three in case anyone is comparing Korean class options.) Great language learning school, highly recommended! The teachers are all have a background in education and seem genuinely happy to be teaching. The classes themselves are really fun, and it's a really good/friendly/open learning atmosphere–I feel like the students and teachers tend to joke around a lot and have a good time while they learn. The classes follow really sound language learning pedagogy, with a really good mix of speaking and coursework, all in Korean. I think most people's language skills definitely improve significantly over the course of a semester. I do think the classes can be a little hit or miss depending on what level the other students are, but that's inevitable anywhere as an adult language learner. Hills Learning itself sometimes has social events or language practicing events that are a really lovely bonus. In addition to a really sound learning environment, more of a friendly-community vibe than you might expect from a language school. I self-studied Japanese for a while, but I realized that wasn't getting me very far. I had a trip to Japan planned soon and wanted to be able to hold at least a simple conversation. Given my time constraint and schedule, I opted for private lessons through Hills Learning to help push me to learn faster. Language lessons are not a magic bullet. You still have to try hard on your own, but it's amazing how much a quality teacher/facilitator can help. I had been studying on my own for a while and not getting very far. After beginning classes, I could see myself improving. My teacher was Aya-sensei, and she was not only extremely nice and helpful, but a great instructor as well. I always felt comfortable asking any question, and she would enthusiastically answer. The way she structured the instructions was also very good, since the next thing would easily click from the last. It's great to have some structure to your learning with someone who is skilled at pedagogy and of whom you can ask any question you may have. I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. My experience at the Barrow Group has truly helped me not to give up as an actor. After moving to NYC in 2009, my very talented friend recommended that I take classes at The Barrow Group. I trusted his recommendation because he was very knowledgable about the class options in the city. I am so thankful that I found the Barrow Group!! I really missed my theatre community from Graduate School and the Barrow Group became my NYC home base. I have taken four classes with Lee Brock and I have learned so much from her. She helped me go back to the beginning…back to those years before all of the training…Lee helped me go back to the 'Story.' She helped me to focus on what truly matters…telling the story! I am starting my fourth class tomorrow. Obviously, I love this place. The teachers are friendly, down to earth, and REALLY know their stuff. It really is amazing, the learning curve, and how much you do learn during just one class, let alone three. PMT has accomplished the difficult task of creating a studio environment that is both welcoming to beginners and engaging to advanced students. They host a wide range of classes from basic to advanced. This is reflected in the studio’s regular students, some have been dancing their entire lives, some took their first class last week. In class, however, all students are treated equally despite their dance experience. New and beginner students are encouraged by instructors to push through difficult movements and to ask questions when needed. Many instructors even wait outside the studio space for 5-10 minutes, encouraging students to ask them questions about what was done in class or what they can practice at home. It doesn’t take long to realize that the lineup of instructors at the studio genuinely care, not only that you show up to class, but that you have taken something from it and will see improvement in the future. My personal experience at PMT has altered my relationship with dance. Until attending my first class in early June, my exposure to dance had mostly been tied to hip hop; however, at PMT I was encouraged to try other styles, such as jazz, contemporary, house, and so on. Now I consider myself a student of many styles and have seen improvement across the board. I can only thank the wonderfully supportive instructors at PMT for that. Special shoutout to the owners, Pavan and Mica who teach multiple styles every week and have always offered individual attention whenever I would ask. All said, people dance for many reasons, be that exercise, stress relief, or a creative outlet, but I would argue that they keep dancing because of the community. PMT is a great space in a very accessible location. Have been taking classes for a while (both online and in person) and have enjoyed exploring different teachers and sometimes styles. They have really good packages which allow you to take more classes and the app is pretty convenient too! Highly recommend Vanessa’s Contemporary and Pilates classes at PMT. She does a full warm up in her Contemporary class that builds strength and technique – I have learned so much from her! She also creates different types of choreography to constantly challenge students! I do wish she had beginner/adv beg classes to work at a slightly slower pace for technique but regardless, her class is always a great space to learn and grow and enjoy especially once you feel stronger class after class!Daphne Chu

PMT offers a variety of different dance styles with high quality teachers. All of the instructors create a safe space for their students to explore and grow as artists. I've never been to a dance studio with staff AND students who are more caring. I mean these staff genuinely care for their students, and they make dance so much fun for beginners and pros alike while still challenging students enough to create lasting change in thier dance skills. It's nice to have a place to go to at the end of my day that brings so much joy and comfort! I couldn't recommend PMT enough!Maddie Sell

March update: – never heard any feedback from Ailey despite my many attempt to reach out (social networks, front desk…) and them telling me my request is in good hand. – on March 9th, a student threw up during the class, because it was overcrowded and no control on temperature in the room. A room in the basement with no windows doesn't help. – for some reason, when another teacher is subbing, we end up on the ground floor, in a classroom with windows. It doesn't seem very fair. – – – I have been following Voguing class for a while at Ailey Extension. Before attending classes regularly here, I have been trying other classes around town. It happened to me that Cesar, the teacher, was doing an amazing job at not only teaching how to Vogue, but also at being INCLUSIVE, which means showing strong teaching skills. You can be good at something, but it doesn’t mean you will be good at teaching it… well, Cesar’s classes at Ailey Extension combine both of these skills. This reflects a lot in the crowd following the class: it is super diverse, in background, age, gender… and this is exactly, as a foreigner like me, but resident here now, what NYC is about: diversity. Cesar Valentino not only brings Voguing and teaching to a high level, but also brings the true essence of NYC, and this is everything. The great thing about Voguing here is to learn about walking a runway, but also empowerment through femininity! No matter your gender, everyone wear heels here, and everyone gets super excited about it! It’s not only a performing class, it’s also a lot about exploring yourself and gain self-confidence through femininity. Every time friends of mine are visiting, I bring them to this class, and their enthusiasm when leaving it means a lot, and it works every time thanks to Cesar and his skills. But why such a bad rating you might ask.. well, the thing is that it feels like Ailey extension doesn’t support what happens here: 1/ Vogue class used to happen in upper level rooms when I started in spring, but now we are in a basement every time, in a room that is way too small and runway gets difficult because of overcrowded room. It feels like Ailey Extension feels shame about showing men wearing heels to the public, when other classes with heels are being put under the light. Historically, the Vogue community has always been struggling and considered underground. Nowadays, vogue communities and scenes are popping everywhere in the world, not to mention TV shows like My House or Pose, but Ailey Extension seems like not really understanding the potential of this, and keep « us » in a basement. It just feels wrong. 2/ There is only one class a week here, where in every other dance facility, vogue classes happen 3 to 4 times a week. This is very frustrating when you enjoy such a class to only have it once a week… again, why?? At the end, it feels like Ailey Extension doesn’t fully support Voguing, and it hurts to feel not supported, specially when as a participant to this class, you can feel such a high energy every time. Maybe I missed something, or maybe Ailey Extension is a bit blind. So, this message feels a bit like an open letter: Dear Ailey Extension, would you make a statement in supporting this class, open new sessions and help build a community here!! Until then, I have decided to not fully support Ailey Extension as long as they are not ready to make a change and be more rewarding to what happens here, until further notice. I hope you will hear this message, because I’m living for Saturdays thanks to Cesar and his Voguing class, but the bitter taste I get from the lack of support from A.E. needs to be solved. Will 2019 be the year for Vogue to shine at Ailey Extension? I hope yes!Thomas Wyngaard

1. They have a very clear division between actual school classes and classes for the public. Some classes are completely off limits for public. If you go to actual school class and not community class, they point out to everyone in class that you are what they call a "guest with us" which I find highly humiliating. 2. High quality of instruction when it comes to school classes. Community ballet classes could be by far better taught. 3. You have many options here in all types of dance styles and techniques. Many dance workshops you can choose from. All in all, you will enjoy going there for a class. 4. If you decide to audition for the school, you MUST BE BETWEEN AGES 16-25 as they almost never make exceptions for someone who is older than that. Might as well not try at all. So, in terms of excellence, 5 stars for school quality and 3 stars for community classes.Google User

I’ve been taking Cesar Valentino’s All Styles Vogue class through the Alvin Ailey’s extension since the summer and I love the class. Cesar is an iconic vogue dancer with invaluable experience, but more than that, he is always encouraging and brings great energy to the class. I really enjoy learning new choreography each week. I'm a born and raised New Yorker Who is looking to move back to Manhattan. I wanted to make some note of / about this AMAZING property. This Gym is a true landmark of what makes New York City great and is something truly impressive that any New Yorker should be proud of! The view(s) from within this facility are awe inspiring and calming after a long Day and the equipment and facilities offered by this Gym are welcoming and supportive of any level of Health and Wellness from improvement of health and conditioning to advanced Athletic development. I'm looking to recertify as a Personal Trainer with NASM and pray to one Day be a functional part of this amazing Athletic facility! I couldn't ask for more from a 'Gym' and can't wait to be back in the concrete jungle and pushing a sled around this amazing heaven on Earth! 🙂 I do wonder: Is Training on an endurance bicycle allowed on your indoor Track and if so is that at certain time(s)? Our son enjoyed his summer camp but the after-care was sad and disappointing. Kids are place in a room with a large loud TV and literally nothing else to do — no board games, puzzles, or building materials — despite the clear presence of tables for activities. Whether I arrived at 4:30pm or 5:30pm, the kids all looked like zombies all facing the same wall with bored expressions on their faces. The staff monitoring sitting by the door did not engage with the kids. My son LOVES movies but begged me to pick him up early after the first day. If you are planning to send your kids to summer camp, consider skipping the depressing after-care.Anonymous

This place is really cool, really fun. I was invited to the driving range today. Got to whack some balls. The tee sets the ball itself, I just swung over and over again. Even felt myself improving over the 2 hour period. Overlooking the Hudson, laughing and enjoying the easy vibes. Felt like a nice getaway even though I was still in the heart of the city. I stayed at the Third Street shelter for a short time but I was profiled both as being white and Jewish. Quanda Delande, the woman in charge of this otherwise wonderful shelter with the kindest, sweetest, most hard working and helpful staff, gunned for me from the moment we met. She made anti-semitic comments and baited other residents to attack me, black residents, drunk residents, residents she told I was racist and when they did, I was the one who was forced to leave, along with my only friend in that shelter, who happened to be black. Quanda Dalande is a terrible person and it's terrifying that someone who hates the Jews she works for so much that it effects the way she runs a Jewish owned shelter. I considered suing but honestly, she is her own worse revenge and she knows it. You can catch her in knee high lace up 6 inch boots smoking in front of the shelter with the residents because not only is she evil, she is also trashy. Were it not for her, I would have given this shelter 5 stars.Anais Nin

The Parenting classes were wonderful when Ms.Baker was leading them. When Ms. Young took over as a director of the entire program she had no accountability for her actions. I reached out to her in Dec to check my progress to remain on track I didnt hear back from her until Feb. She never answered my email but reached out to My ACS worker. When I tried to recieve a valid explanation from Ms. Young she told me that they were in transition and she simply forgot. In turn this is your life and although I tried to be accountable on my own part I was hung up and spoke to very nasty. I will not be continuing classes with them. As a director her title requires a different level of professionalism. She does not exude or model that behavior.Brandi Baxter

Regarding Summer Fun Saturdays at Dry Dock Playground, I think it is great that you host events for the community. However, I don't understand how having a dj blast music at the highest levels in a residential community is beneficial to all the senior citizens that live in the buildings that border this playground. Do not waste your money. This school is a rip-off. My daughter took the EKG and Phlebotomy courses and throughout both courses only received one day of clinical in each area and they were not full days of practice since the school does not use manikins and the students had to practice the phlebotomy on each other and they could not stick each other but so many times…smh. Upon completion, my daughter received the run around trying to get an internship, and during the one internship interview that she went on the doctor told her that she really did not have anything for her as she was just asked to take another intern who was a relative of someone at the school, but she didn't what to tell my daughter no over the phone. She just had her waste her time and gas so she could experience an interview and tell her no in person…really? The school looked like a waste of time from the beginning and I should have gone with my instincts and gone to a reputable program.B. Manuel

I did my ultrasound course from here and my experience was great . Dr. Ayub and his lectures was awesome and he is always there for you in any guidance or questions even after completion of the course. The good thing is that they give hospital internships placement which actually enrich our skill and opportunities to learn varieties of cases and makes you confident. After the completion of the course they also help you for job opportunities which is really helpful as a beginner. Currently working in a radiology place and of course highly recommend this place.Dipa Denis

I would just like come on here and say thank you to my teacher Trisha. I don’t believe I would have been able to get through this course with out her. I took this course to have a better future for my son and I and she helped me accomplish that. She cares for her students and is such a wonderful person. This is the best accredited medical school. HANDS DOWN!! At first I was a little skeptical with my choices but I thank God that I made the best decision. The lecturers are so perfect and they make you understand everything in the simplest form , not only the lecturers but career services (Ms.Sabrina Lewis) stayed with me until I got the job , she gave me the answers to ALL the interview questions and SURPRISINGLY guys I'm employed with an OB gyn on the Upper East side. Horrible rude staff. Don’t care about your education but care if you’re wearing their uniform or not. Sabrina is very unorganized and I didn’t have any good experiences with her. Most if not all of my class mates hated their time there because staff and teachers are USELESS. I wouldn’t be surprised if the good reviews on here were fake because in my whole year there i never once heard anyone say anything good about this school. I graduated March,2022 from the Medical assistant program and start my career at Brookdale hospital this month 5/2022; this certificate and experience was so worth it! I don't write many reviews, but needed to share how much Trooper Fitness means to me. I have been a member of Trooper since the beginning, now going on 9 years, and it is one of the things I value most in my life. To get the workout review out of the way–yes, they are AMAZING! I am challenged in every class, and it only makes me want to come back for more. The coaches do a great job of programming creative workouts and are super encouraging and positive. They very approachable, will work with you on your goals, and push you to your best in every class. Even after years of going to classes, I continue to see myself growing and improving. However, even more important than the workouts is the Trooper mentality and community itself. There are so many gyms and boutique fitness studios in the City, finding a place to just workout is easy. Trooper Fitness offers something unique in the diverse and tight-knit, but welcoming, community it has built. From encouraging each other in classes, to hanging out in the lobby afterwards, to getting together outside the gym, Trooper really is a second family to me and I have made my closest friendships in NY from people I have met at Trooper. Their motto "All We Know is Go" really sums up their mentality. Even in the adversity of the pandemic, the founders and coaches were on the ball in moving over to virtual workouts, and have done a great job keeping the same sense of community. Trooper has been a lifeline during this time, and the pandemic has only highlighted to me how important they are. Hands down, the best gym ever! The owners and every single coach there is very passionate and extremely good at what they do. They are all very accessible for any questions you may have. Their feedback for you is super specific and helpful! The coaches also do the right level of nudging and teach you the right techniques for you to make progress. I went from 15 lb dumbell shoulder press to eventually 50lb barbell shoulder press in 4 weeks (one of the several such examples I can give about their classes and coaches). The energy in every class is so contagious. I have been able to hit some personal bests and do some exercises that I have never imagined doing just in the last year or so. I should also say that I started at Trooper as a complete beginner for the type of training they offer and saw improvements week over week on all aspects of my training. Started going to trooper fitness (TF) in March 2022!!! My goal going in was to get stronger and embrace working out in a class setting that matches my energy. I am so thankful I found TF, it's the best experience of my life! The coaches are AMAZING, they will push you out of your comfort zone, bring strength out of you that you did not know existed and modify the exercise to meet your personal fitness level. The community/ TF members are great as well, we encourage each other in class to push through. Overall great vibe and energy! My experience at Ace Institute has been very successful. After completing my internship I recieved a job offering a week later! Now I am a full time Diagnostic medical sonographer. The school directors Amit and Gaurav made me feel welcomed the first day of meeting them. They care about all of the students, because they want the best for us. They both showed respect and gratitude. Rutu was always there for me when it came to financial aid support. So no student should ever have to worry about if they can afford to pay for the school. In my opinion, the diagnostic medical sonography program at Ace is the most affordable program in New York City. Tisha who is in charge of the internship process was so incredible! She was always on top of it when it came to placing us students in a internship position! I had many professors back in my college years. Out of all professors I've encountered with. Professor Hany will always be my favorite. He cares so much about his students. He wants nothing but the best for us. I’m so proud of myself, I just finished my externship and I’m a graduate of Ace Institute of Technology I started the program in November. I was looking for a school that understands me and able to work with me. From the first time I met with the Director Dr. Gigii she was amazing she motivated me throughout the whole program. There were times I wanted to give up but she didn’t let me. All the teachers were understand and compassionate and if I needed extra Help they would go out there way to help me after class. Dr.Gigii always called and contacted me to make sure I was logged into class, I came in person, and made sure I finish school. I went to other schools, honestly I felt like I was just a number. As a single mother of three kids it was hard going back to school. But I was tired of these dead end jobs. I decide to go back to school for medical assistant. I filled out a form and so many schools called me. So many! But Ace institute was so persistent, Dr. Gigii told me that she just wanted to tell me what the class offers and affordable tutiution and after our meeting feel free to visit other schools and whatever you decide im just happy your going back yo school. I decide to go to ACE and I happy I did because of Dr.. Gigii persistent and not letting me give up I finished my externship and I'm working at my externship site. I'm a new actor who started at T. Schreiber a year ago and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was nervous about getting into acting because you hear about how some teachers break their students down but as a beginner, that type of instruction can be discouraging. I started with the Beginning Saturday Program with Pam Scott. I loved it because she's a very nurturing and encouraging teacher who imparts tons of knowledge and skills to her students in every class. You'll learn a lot and feel very safe taking risks. I've also had the opportunity to be taught by Bob Verlaque and Susan Pilar who substituted a few of my Scene Study classes when Pam couldn't make it and they were amazing as well. As you continue, you may find that you need a different type of instruction. The teachers here encourage you to do so. Not just within T. Schreiber but outside of it. Although I will probably try classes outside of T. Schreiber, I really love the faculty here and they will most likely become a mainstay in my life.C Banks

I've been studying at T Schreiber Studio on and off since 2014. I've explored studios and teachers all over New York City and have truly never found a teacher that I've connected with or who has made as big of an impact on my career as Peter Jensen. I think I would genuinely credit Peter with teaching me how to act and with teaching me to love acting. There is no place I love in NY more than his scene study class. He is the most honest, compassionate and caring teacher that there is. His deep understanding of the craft makes it easy for him to communicate with actors on a level that you rarely see from acting teachers. The class always feels like a judgement free zone where we, as actors, are encouraged to explore, be playful and grow. I can't wait to go back in person!Amanda Bear

Schreiber has that rare combination in acting teachers of being immensity knowledgeable, compassionate, intuitive, and understanding. He doesn't teach any one method, but rather is versed in all of the major American styles of modern acting and leads you through exercises to figure out which ones resonate most in your individual process. It is a safe environment where you are free to discover and explore and take risks. I have been going to sessions at UpFit since November and in just under 3 months I can already feel slight differences and improvements in my strength and stamina.
