Review Summary
Enjoyed most of my experience as a distance education student. I often came across helpful and caring faculty and staff. However, the process for distance education students are unclear and I spent lots of time and money figuring out the process and trying to minimize delay. This included: 1.) Several semesters waiting for a class to be available online so I could fulfill the requirements of my degree, only to find that accommodations are made only for students who ask. 2.) I was required to travel to LCC on multiple occasions for two classes, when the distance education pathway for my degree specifically stated "completely online". 3) Graduation application processing for distance education students are unclear. You have to mail in the application and payment which means you have to do it well before the deadline in order for it to be processed at all and avoid having to redo it and submit it in the next semester. I also found that this is unnecessary – payment could be processed in the cashiers office at the campus nearest you if LCC would just put the charges in – when seeking help and direction from the LCC Admissions & Records office they just seemed bothered, terse and abrupt. Overall, I enjoyed the learning experience but I am sorely disappointed in the delays, costs, and unclear guidance of the distance education program. I hope others have a better experience.Michelle Agbigay
Leeward Community College (LCC) is a "best value for your dollar" if you are seeking to pursue higher education. It's conveniently located near central and leeward Oʻahu with accessibility via public transportation. For commuters free parking is available, however the lot fills quickly most mornings, so it's early bird gets the stall on this one. This four-year college provides degree programs in a variety of disciplines including culinary arts, education, health, communications, and technology, among others. LCC offers robust distance learning options, programs for non-traditional students, and a head start program for high school students. LCC is a firm stepping stone toward an advanced degree and a terrific environment to hone current skills or retrain in a new industry. Those who are considering transferring from another institution should careful check your transcript to ensure that your credits are transferable. Even if a class has the same course title, syllabus information may be valuable for approval. Keep in mind that transferred credits are at the discretion of the institution and may vary from program to program.Pauwilo Look
So I sign up for financial aid, sign all the mandatory paperwork that gets sent to my email and pass my classes with flying colors. At the end of the semester, I have to fly back to the mainland and I end up staying there for a year. The end of that year, I get a random call from a creditor that I owe the college. I get on a payment plan immediately and start working it out – they had given me FA paperwork for the NEXT semester so my FA never went through and I suddenly found I had to pay it all back ASAP. Flash forward to today and KapiolaniCC understands my story and releases my transcripts. Leeward absolutely refuses and the woman had the audacity to insult me. No class. Who is working in the transcript office? This woman needs work training on ethics and since you can't teach empathy to a lifeless trout, may all her bacon burn.Nadja Howell

From FIT4MOM Honolulu
Review Summary
I rarely (never) write reviews, but Fit4Mom has literally changed my life. I started with their Stroller Strides classes after I had my first child, and I continued when I had my second. The owner, Takara, is well organized and knows how to nurture her village with positive, respectful and fun instructors who are incredibly supportive. The moms in the village are equally as supportive and never make you feel ashamed for showing up late or having a bad day. If your kid has a tantrum (they all do), nobody judges you. The kids and babies can play together after workouts, which is always a plus. When I went back to work full-time, I joined the Body Back program. Again, this was life-changing. The program is not focused on losing weight or physical appearances (although improvements do happen). It is about reclaiming your body as your own and, for me, has brought back the version of myself I forgot was there all along. I have learned how to be a better mom by being a better person overall and can feel the improvements not only in the physical sense but also social-emotional aspects. The skills I have learned from this program have become lifestyle changes, and I feel truly blessed to have been a part of it. Again, the village is incredibly supportive and feels like a sisterhood. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you, Takara and Fit 4 Mom Honolulu. I only wish you could clone yourself and open in Cleveland for my sister, too 🙂Joanne Loos
The first time I learned about Fit4mom Honolulu, I saw a bunch of women having fun and exercising together while pushing their babies in strollers. I knew that was something I wanted to try. I signed up for my first Fit4mom stroller strides class for free with my 2 year old and I was hooked! Fast forward to 5 sessions (8 weeks each) of the body back program and my son and I still look forward to the workouts and playtime. I feel stronger, more energetic and overall healthier. The community of supportive moms inspire and motivate me to continue a healthy lifestyle with my family. Fit4mom has been a blessing to me and my family for so many reasons. It is not just a fitness program, it offers challenging workouts while knowledgeable coaches teach us about nutrition, accountability and healthy habits. As a mom, we give so much of ourselves to everyone else. Fit4mom allows me to focus on myself, guilt free!Heather Hamblin _
I have been a member of the Fit4Mom Honolulu Family since fall 2015! I love that the classes can adapt to your changing family needs! I started with Stroller Strides when my youngest was still a toddler. It’s so rewarding to get an amazing workout in with your little one beside you! Now that my daughter is older I am a firm believer in the Fit4Mom Body Back program! Body Back is not just a one time 8-week session and then you’re done type of program. Rather it’s a roadmap that provides you with the building blocks to create sustainable lifestyle changes! I am currently in my third consecutive session and I plan to keep going for at least a full year. I am a completely different person than I was 8 months ago and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead further down the road!Julia Lolofie

5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ HIGHLY RECOMMEND Swim Coach Ridge Royce (Swims Lessons Hawaii) for your toddler or preschooler. Coach Ridge is truly amazing with children and exhibits characteristics of a positive, enthusiastic, supportive, trusting, focused, knowledgeable, respectful and effective seasoned swim instructor. From the first lesson, Coach Ridge instantly established a sincere rapport and relationship with my 4 year old boy. His charismatic, fun, and creative personality was a game changer in my son’s life and forever grateful. Coach Ridge genuinely worked through my son’s fear and uncertainty of the water. It was truly amazing to watch the transition of timid boy evolve into a brave, courageous, confident and bold swimmer. At every swim lesson, Coach Ridge’s priority was to provide a fun and effective experience for my son. He demonstrated patience, calmness, flexibility and creativity to adapt to an easily distracted and very active little boy. He was always armed with creative coaching techniques and ended every lesson with a happy overjoyed kid. I strongly recommend Coach Ridge for your child’s swim coach! Guaranteed a positive experience for your child because of his caring good nature.Michelle Crone
You see that photo attached? That's me cliffjumping from about 11 meters at Black Rock beach in Maui, after which I swam about 60 meters to shore. A few months ago when I moved to Honolulu, you wouldn't have caught me near that cliff and the ocean. That's right – I moved to Hawaii not knowing how to swim and afraid of the open water. That all changed after a 12-class program with Swim Lessons Hawaii and Rylie as my coach. I couldn't have asked for a better coach. Under her attentive and personable guidance, I became more and more comfortable being in the ocean as the weeks passed. Not only did she ensure you got it at a basic level, but she was really perceptive in identifying your weaknesses and discussing in detail how you can improve. Now, I love being in the water and am actually having fun, when it used be a great source of anxiety for me. I still swim regularly, at the beach at least 4x a week, trying to be a more efficient swimmer. Would definitely consider taking additional lessons from them. Thank you again Rylie and Swim Lessons Hawaii! Thinking of competing in a triathlon now…Rex Dontogan
Coach Losha is great and the staff is very flexible! Before I started the program I swam 2:00 per 100 freestyle, I hit a plateau and needed some additional help. After a few lessons with Losha and a unique training plan that he created; I was able to get down to 1:35 per 100m. I am still improving and excited to see how much faster I can get. Since I started, I've swam the North Shore Series, Dukes One Mile and the Waikiki Roughwater. Highly recommend this company, even for swimmers who started swimming as adults. For those that are in the military, Losha gave me the tools to conduct water survival training and become an instructor as well. All the time I spent teaching myself could have been cut in half if I started with SLH from the beginning. I attached two pics, one of my swimming laps in the pool and another of my doing some group finning in the open water.Adan Galindo

Review Summary
Rey is an amazing trainer with so much experience to offer. I was incredibly grateful I found his details online and booked the sessions for my holiday, visiting from Australia. His approach is tailored. Rather than throwing me into a session he sat down and went through my needs, and immediately identified the one thing holding me back from getting rid of unwanted belly fat was to implement a diet with many meals and protein with each meal. He took my measurements to ascertain total body fat and explained the math formula for how to lose. He didn't charge me for the consultation. He then planned stages of development and I learnt the importance of stretching before training – Rey explained fascia and the need to roll it out. Rey was very careful in showing me how to roll out and I took lots of notes and some videos of how to do properly. Since then my posture has come a long way and I'm not hurting myself using equipment- after cross fit training I was in agony rolling out my fascia with Reys guidance. My joints are so much better now. Rey emailed me my diet plan. He is such a lovely man and professional. You won't find a greater life coach… extraordinarily great value for money if you have discipline and the desire to improve your health. No judgement. Full encouragement. God bless you Rey 😊❤⭐Jen Wondrach
From fitness to wellness, bodybuilding to weight loss, nutrition to life coach, & everything in between, Rey Ronquilio is the trainer, coach, & friend you are looking for. I’ve personally referred more than half a dozen friends to Rey. Of those I’ve referred, 3 scheduled a consultation with him & have been clients ever since. The other 7 people I’ve referred are scared of improving their lives. You only have one body your entire life. Show it some respect and hire the right person to meet & exceed your personal goals. That person is Rey Ronquilio! One last thing, he trains his clients in the privacy of a private studio. So don’t worry about those creeps or being judged while at a public gym.Andy R
You’re not going to find a better coach, trainer and fitness mentor than Rey. I’ve sought his advice and guidance for over 20 years and he is stays on the cutting edge of advancements in the fitness world. I am Physician Assistant, and I still reach out to him with patients that aren’t meeting their fitness goals. You simply won’t find anyone with more knowledge, compassion and desire to see his clients succeed. He is the best.Jeff Hannah

Review Summary
If you are looking for dog trainers… Island Dog Obedience is the best choice to make! We were having a difficult time with our puppies on account of several factors that prevented us from taking them out and exposing them to experiences. To say they were extremely sheltered dogs, would be an understatement! I reached out to island dog obedience and Maria’s response time was within 24hours. We were not even her clients and yet she provided us with a lot of helpful information and advice during our call with her. After the call, we decided to set up an in person consultation with her. After the consultation, we reserved her earliest dates for the 2week board and train. We were concerned as the cost is a definite factor to weigh in on and discuss amongst ourselves, but it ended up being one of the best decisions my husband and I have made concerning our dogs!! Our dogs would howl and carry on with tantrums just to go on a simple walk or to put a leash on. One wouldn’t go down a flight of stairs and had severe separation anxiety when I was not within eye sight of him. During the B&T Maria kept in contact daily with updates, pictures and videos. She was always available and answered all of our questions and concerns – and we had A LOT! It was so amazing watching the transformation of our boys!! We were beyond pleased with their progress and training when we picked them up. Maria was very thorough with the handoff. She taught us the various commands and how to push through if they try to test us and throw tantrums. After the handoff, Maria continued to check on us to see how we were doing and if we had any questions. This despite her being on vacation as well! She still took the time to consistently check on us and the boys. Main takeaways: *It’s obvious Maria absolutely loves and cares for dogs and will treat your puppy like her very own. She showers them with lots of love and praise. *Maria is extremely knowledgeable and professional, a definite expert in her field. *She is honest and transparent, she’s not simply out for herself or the $$. She gives you honest advice on what she feels is the best route for your dog. *She is just an amazing human being in general!! It was simply a pleasure meeting her! *She’s a great dog photographer! You’ll get beautiful photos of your dog! *If you have any doubts…. I promise that you will not regret going with Island Dog Obedience!!Elizabeth Kahakua
During the middle of the pandemic, we adopted a sweet baby girl dog who became a smart but very stubborn toddler. Maggie learned all of her commands early, but she wouldn’t follow them if she wasn’t in the mood and, given COVID restrictions, we couldn’t do much in the way of advanced training. She was just over a year old when Chantelle picked her up for board and train and while she should have been with the trainers for four weeks, our schedule only allowed for two. Maggie’s first day or two back home was tough; she tested us to see what we’d let her get away with, but Chantelle had spent over an hour training us to train Maggie (and to be prepared for pushback). Maggie’s training has yielded incredible results and while she’s still a work in progress, she is 90% better than when she began her training. There is now minimal jumping, she actually heels, and she’ll follow commands and leave things alone the first time I tell her. Our 12 year old dog is much happier, too. Chantelle was terrific throughout this process – she explained everything in detail and, when the time came and Maggie went to stay with her, she sent pictures and videos every day so we could see our girl was happy. I cannot recommend Island Dog Obedience enoughKaren Glasser
Experienced trainer Chantelle from Island Dog Obedience responded to our request for help within hours and was at our house within a couple of days. She felt like our savior. We had adopted a possibly abused and terrified dog. Our little pup had just gone through losing her home, spaying and losing one of her legs, all in the space of a few months. She was so terrified. We didn't know where to start. We only did a consultation with Chantelle but in that consultation she gave us an exercise to help us build trust with our little girl. We are just a few weeks into adoption, and for now we will be working on building trust, and coming back to obedience later. Chantelle was professional, knowledgeable and gave us an exercise that has already shown results. It will be a long road to heal our dog, but we are off to a great start, mostly due to Chantelle's help and expertise. I have the highest regard for her. Thank you Chantelle and Island Dog Obedience!Evelyn Hein

From Parado Power Personal Training
Review Summary
Parado Power is a GREAT GYM! Atmosphere: Spacious with lots of windows and fans to help with circulation. I feel that it is a friendly and non-judgmental gym with fellow gym goers being respectful, especially wearing masks properly throughout workouts. Blake, Keri, and the rest of the Parado Power staff are really nice and helpful. Cleanliness: One of the cleanest gyms I've ever been to. I've been to several private / smaller gyms and they seemed to be dirty and messy. Parado Power is the opposite – clean and neat! At the door, you take your temperature and wipe the bottom of your shoes. They have sanitizer and cleaning stations throughout the gym making cleaning easy for everyone. Owners Blake and Keri put in a lot of work to create a gym environment where the gym members / clients feel comfortable and safe, while still having fun. They are always on it and its clear to see how important their clients are to them. It is very much appreciated!! Equipment: Mostly free weights with lots of variety! You will not be bored. The equipment is in great shape and is constantly being cleaned. Parking: Lots of parking! They validate for the first 90 minutes. Workouts: Challenging & fun. If you sign up for group classes, every single class is different which is great and it's always stimulating. If you sign up for the semi personal training sessions, prepare to become much stronger than you ever were. For both programs, whatever level of fitness you are, Blake will help you improve and become a better you. Other: Scheduling your classes / sessions are very easy because of the Parado Power app. There's a chilled filtered water filing station to quench your thirst. TLDR: Parado Power is an amazing gym run by people who care that provide challenging workouts. Try it out soon because the only workout you'll regret is the one you didn't do (at Parado Power)!Chelsea A. Lee
If anyone can get me into a group class and consistently working out at 6am, they’re a unicorn. You should definitely check out Parado Power. Blake is an excellent trainer. He’s motivational in the right way, provides great correction and feedback, and let’s me modify exercises when I need to. I started working out at Parado Power because my muscles had atrophied significantly after an accident and I found it hard to get back to my baseline fitness without help. I’m not a self-motivated exerciser and couldn’t afford to shell out big bucks for a membership I was never going to use. So it was great to find a place that made it easy for me to keep coming back. I’m a pretty scrawny human, but since I started going to Parado Power, I have become noticeably stronger. I felt like my legs could carry me up my favorite mountains with greater ease and endurance. And my back and core feel stronger and more stable! COVID-19 is a crazy time and I’m as crowd averse as anyone. But I truly believe that Blake and Keri have done an amazing job protecting their clients. Even though I know it hurts business, they cut class sizes significantly to ensure proper physical distancing. They scrub the gym top to bottom (the floor mats have never been cleaner!) and ensure that all of their members distance during their workout and wipe down all of the equipment after use. Blake ALWAYS wears a mask in the gym and while instructing. Anyway this was a long review, but TL;DR: I think Blake and Keri do an excellent job. Blake is a great and effective trainer. You should definitely try out Parado Power.Nicole Nakata
To say that training at Parado Power saved my life–both literally and figuratively–would be an understatement. Due to a series of serendipitous events, working out at the gym lead me discover I had a rare disease necessitating major surgery. I was able to work out before the surgery and got into great shape beforehand. About 12 weeks after my surgery when I got the all clear from my doctor, I started back up at the gym. Blake was so great in tailoring a routine to help me build strength as I recovered and he never pushed me too hard. About 1.5 years after my surgery I'm in the best shape of my life! Not only is Blake a great, supportive coach, the gym itself is awesome. If you're looking for a great gym with a supportive, friendly community, this IS your gym. There's none of that chest thumping machismo you sometimes find at big box gyms. Parado Power is the "Cheers" of gyms; Everyone knows your name. When you walk in, Blake is always sure to great you by name. You'll work out with people of all ages and walks of life. It's a great place where everyone is super supportive of each other. One of the other things I love about Parado Power, is how clean the gym is. In covid times, this is a must for me. The gym is large and well ventilated. Everyone wears masks and socially distances. After every workout everyone is required to clean up, so you know when you start your workout, you're using clean equipment. I can't recommend this gym enough. Come try it out, you won't regret it. You may be sore, but you won't regret it.Raquel T

Amazing! I took the 4 week intensive course, which is new to the school. It was INTENSE. Really fast paced. But I do work full time in the medical field already and was able to complete all the homework, quizzes, and tests. I wanted a career change, and this course allowed me to do that. I aced the course and the national licensing exam without any concerns at all (you HAVE to study and do the homework and quizzes and practice tests). The national exam, it is a two hour time limit, but I completed it in 35-40 mins, a school record Porscha the AWESOME AMAZING instructor said. I used the extra study guide and practice tests for this national exam. HIGHLY recommend using these! Also, was able to quickly get my 100+ sticks by bringing in extra friends and family. Great team atmosphere to learn together (group chat and homework together if wanted). It IS fast paced and pricey, but completely doable and worth every penny. 10/10 recommend. Thanks to Porscha, owner/instructor, I am now a well trained Certified Phlebotomist Technician. Thank you Porscha!Lucy Hritzo
I took 6 weeks program, first 3 weeks was the hardest for me since there were quizzes three times a week, but if you have any questions or concerns you can reach out to the instructor and she’ll go over the study guide with you to help you. It is fast paced and you have to have great time management skills, communication skills and dedication to successfully complete the course. Instructor is very easy to talk to, if your interested in joining the medical field taking this course would be a great opportunity for your ladder of success!Saya
Great place to learn phlebotomy! This was my first time getting into medical studies and I learned a lot about the healthcare field. Porscha, the instructor, is really nice and cares about her students! The classes go by fast and all the material taught is there for a reason so if you take these this class make sure you study everything 🙂 Overall I'm really glad I took this class because it has opened my mind and the skills learned will give me great opportunities in the future. Thank you Porscha!Lisa S

Review Summary
If you are looking for someone that will ease your labor and delivery process, search no more, Maggie is your girl! If there ever was a calling for someone, being a doula suits Maggie on multiple levels. She is very knowledgeable not only from a pre-natal standpoint, but also the laboring process, support for postpartum, and breastfeeding phases. I had decided I wanted Maggie as my Doula early in the pregnancy and she shared great information with me starting from week 28 about how I could best prepare for labor as well as the best natural tips for assisting my baby to come on time. During the weeks leading up to the birth, she was a huge support and presence in helping me with positioning techniques and exercises for getting baby into the right position for heading down the vaginal canal. Thinking about it, I would not have wanted to do those previous weeks without her, she helped me really get in the perfect mindset for when labor did start. Then came the day of laboring, this was our first baby, so we did not know what to expect. I am so glad we had Maggie there through the most painful parts of labor. The counter pressure and many different positions she assisted with were so wonderful, she really kept me so focused! And if it were not for Maggie, I would not have remembered to stay hydrated! Which is so important during the long stretch of laboring waves that occurred throughout the day. Although my dream labor and delivery did not go as planned, instead culminating in an emergency c-section, I don’t know how I would have gotten through it without Maggie’s comforting presence and supportive demeanor. Although I had little control over what was happening each moment during my laboring process, she made sure to advocate for me the best she could with the medical staff. The best part was she was able to let my family know what was going on when that was the last thing on my mind during the process, she also stayed in contact with my placenta encapsulator to assure that the placenta would get to her in a timely fashion. This took so much stress off of me and my partner. If we decide in the future to have another child, I wouldn’t choose any other Doula in the world to be there for this huge life event. It’s true what they say, having a child is one of the best things to experience in life! To have someone to support you through that incredible journey, to help you realize how powerful your mind and your body are during that phase, is truly priceless. Do yourself a favor and utilize Maggie’s expertise in the transitional phases of labor and delivery along with her calming and soothing nature for an easier labor and delivery! You owe it to yourself and your baby!”Brian H
Erin has been our doula throughout my pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum with our first child. Her knowledge, insight and presence throughout the experience has been invaluable, especially having no family on island to lean on. We originally decided to hire a doula when we knew we would be switching hospitals close to our due date and wanted to be sure we had consistent support and an advocate for our natural birth plan. Erin's encouragement for both my husband and I throughout the progression of my labor allowed us to feel heard and have as close to the experience we wanted as possible even when our birth ended in an unplanned cesarean. Erin knew when to step in and offer hands on, verbal, and emotional help but more importantly when to stand by and allow us our space to experience the situation for ourselves as well as encourage my husband in his role through the labor process. She was there to offer unbiased education and research as well as personal experience and guidance as a mom with varied birth experiences, both in the weeks before birth, on labor day, and during the postpartum period. She communicated frequently with my care team to offer suggestions that were in my best interest throughout labor, provided active coaching and suggested position changes, assured us in our decisions, and even provided massage, music, and aromatherapy during labor. To have someone who has done it all and is able to offer advice from experience is more valuable than any book can offer. We are extremely grateful to her and would highly recommend doula support for anyone going through pregnancy and delivery!Katelyn Veale
My Dr. recommended a doula around the 3rd trimester and had a great experience with this place, Maggie specifically. Our first visit felt like more of an opportunity to feel each other out than it did a scheduled visit. We barely talked about pregnancy and and the birthing process at all but it allowed a great professional bond to be formed and really set the pace with what to expect from her. She was always very sweet and still thorough with explaining all the alternatives when it came to having my baby. When I was 38 1/2 weeks I learned I would need to be induced and Maggie talked me through what that would be like, still nervous I went to the hospital with my husband to be begin that process and while there were times I didn’t have the time to speak with the hospital staff, she was my voice because she had already known how I wanted things done. I could not have asked for a better experience and that is thanks totally to Maggie. If you are looking for a doula I could not recommend her more. Me and my family are very grateful for her, she’s more than a doula she’s a member of the family now. She also babysits! When I have another baby I won’t hesitate to have her with me again. Choose Maggie! You won’t regret it.Susana Dillner

Review Summary
I took the sensual flow class that karisma does. She took us through an exercise that open my eyes to the way that my body has an effect on others. When we did the exercise I recalled a negative experience and as it progressed I developed the movements that we were doing into a way to make that experience one where I can take my power back from that moment and then to do something positive with that as well. It was cool to see how my movements to the music developed afterwards. I also like the fun follow along routine that we did near the end. It made me sweat and the movements were very fun and liberating. The Forthcoming Triumphants
Jonathan and Mayu are good people providing the community with access to the arts, movement, and meditation. Artists need spaces to teach and students need spaces to learn and Sakura is that space we need. You can grow as much or as little as you want at Sakura depending on how much you want to put into it. Find a new hobby, conquer your fears, achieve your goals, set new goals, tear up your list of goals. This is a good place.Laura Becker
Sakura is great! Beautiful space! Chill and relaxed ambience and atmosphere. The classes and instructors are awesome! I always learn a lot from every class, while having fun dancing and meeting new people. Their art jams are always an amazingly talented collection of artists who want to collaborate and create beautiful art and dance. Definitely should come by if you’re in Hawai’i or visiting!Circus Unicorn

Review Summary
My husband and I have a 10 month old GSD who had been displaying signs of aggression at home and in public from a very early age (4mo). I was covered in bruises, cuts, bite marks all over my body. He was a bully in the household and was terrorizing our marriage. He would bite, lunge at people and other dogs, and needed to be very sedated for all vet appointments. I will be very honest I was done with him and was very much ready to rehome him. That's when my husband found Sabrina. We made a deal; if this training didn't work we would rehome him. I was very skeptical and really believed our Shepherd was truly beyond help. I almost hoped it didn't work just to be done with this dog. Jaeger, our GSD stayed with Sabrina for 3 weeks, she was very honest and open from the get go, telling us yes he can be trained however due to his history we also need to have realistic expectations that he is a male shepherd and will need strong, confident handlers for the remainder of his life and if we can't be that for him, rehoming can be an option. I really appreciated her honesty and knowledge from the beginning. Sabrina knows what she's talking about and knew the breed well. Fast forward 3 weeks, we arrive at her location to a completely new dog, remember now, this is the same dog that has bitten me, left scars on my hand and legs, and could not be seen in public due to aggression, here he is sitting calmly by her side waiting for us to step out of our car. She demonstrates all of the techniques she has taught him (sit, down, leave it, heel) over the past few weeks with us and I am blown away, our dog is no longer pulling on the leash, lunging, biting, or terrorizing our house. It's been almost 2 months since training and I will be very honest, I love this dog, he has turned from our worst nightmare to our best friend, as I am writing this he is calmly laying at my side sleeping. He had his first vet appointment yesterday with NO SEDATIVES, the technicians all noticed he is a different dog, he was giving everyone kisses at the vet and really for the first time actually seemed to enjoy being there! We go to Lowes to practice commands with distractions, we go to the park, we can eat dinner and watch tv with him at our side, it's incredible. Sabrina has given us the tools and confidence to grow with him. He really is our partner now, he really is a different animal altogether. He was never affectionate with me ever, now, he's giving me kisses, looks for me when I'm not in the same room as him, and will gladly sleep at my side as we watch tv together. Sabrina gave us our life back, this whole story may sound cheesy, but it was very real. We had a real problem and were given a solution. We can't thank Sabrina enough, we recommend her to all of our friends. Jaeger is a work in progress, we work hard every day, we have ups and downs, but the biggest takeaway for me is seeing a happy, balanced dog, I believe he really understands his role now and is truly part of our pack.Jenny Arellano
I am very cautious about who I leave my dog with but I feel completely comfortable leaving my dog with Sabrina. She is a great dog trainer and worth the investment. I booked him for the two week bootcamp and it has made a big difference in his behavior. I spent a lot of time training my dog using only treats and positive reinforcement. I trained him often but as he approached one year old he began to develop behaviors that I couldn't control and he was beginning to show signs of aggression. It seemed like every new dog that he met led to a more severe reaction from him. He also loved jumping up on people and excitedly getting to them while barking and pulling me to get there.I would beg him to come back and bribe him with treats, but it got to the point where he wouldn't listen to me and I would be embarrassed. I didn't know how to handle my dog. My dog listens to Sabrina. All the work she had done during the two weeks shows. She also took the time to teach me and my husband how to better handle our dog. She even taught us how it safely introduce our dog to other dogs. He even met a dog he hadn't met before and he was so calm! He hasn't jumped up since getting home, he walks next to us, and he has been so nice to be around! On top of being better behaved, he was so content after his stay. He seems like he had a great time with all of the other dogs there and I can tell he also really likes Sabrina. I think he will be excited to go back! I feel so lucky that I met Sabrina and that she helped us as much as she has! This two week training has changed our lives for the better. I plan on using all the resources she provided us with and having our dog stay with her again in the future. I am so happy that I went through with the bootcamp, I have learned a better way to train him and I feel so confident bringing him outside, and now I know the best way to deal with behaviors that I don't want him to have. It was 100% worth the investment and I would do it again in a heartbeat.Rebecca kopec
Our highly obstinate and strong-willed European Doberman, (Cutter) has been training with Balanced Obedience since he was four months old. He began his training with Sabrina in a two- week puppy boot camp. He displayed his stubborn nature right from the start; when Sabrina asked to keep him for a third week to fine-tune his training–at no additional cost we were confident she could teach him the right way! He came home fully potty-trained, understood commands, and learned how to fit in our family of four, (two elementary school aged daughters). The techniques that Sabrina has taught our dog, and more importantly us, have grown with him. Allowing our small tween daughter to create a special bond as a handler to this 100+lb Doberman, whom she can skillfully control. We meet with Sabrina every few months to work out kinks as he continues to grow, test boundaries, and challenge the pack leaders. We get updated tools & techniques as Cutter passes through the challenging puppy years into teenage adolescence and adulthood. In addition, Sabrina has provided us with guidance on nutrition, the best time to neuter; to get the benefits of testosterone and growth, collars, leashes, and flea/tick prevention. Make sure to discuss flea prevention; Sabrina is passionate about how to best protect your pet. Our fast-growing dog (from 15 to 90lbs in six months) outgrew collars almost overnight, and she would swap them out for us regularly to keep Cutter in size-appropriate training gear. Having small kids and a Doberman, we wanted to provide the best training to ensure our kids felt confident in their ability to handle such a big dog. The Balanced Obedience technique of positive reinforcement has formed a stubborn boy into a wonderful smart dog who just wants to make us proud. You will not regret reaching out to Sabrina; she will be your dog’s trainer for life!Adam Barton

Review Summary
Visited this gym while on holidays all the way from Australia and it has been one of the best gyms I’ve ever trained at. Other than the abundance of top tier equipment, competition spec plates, bars and racks, my partner and I met some of nicest people while training there. Everyone was extremely friendly, mostly especially Jaron, who made Josh and I feel like locals!! It’s also in a very convenient location if you’re staying in Honolulu, very central to a lot of places. We tell all our friends who plan on visiting Hawaii to definitely train here. We can’t wait to come back and train here again! 5 stars!Marah Bonifacio
The best powerlifting gym in Hawaii! With no doubt. Ukiyo's owner (Jaron Yamane) is very friendly and welcoming, and is open to any questions! The hospitality at Ukiyo is incredible. If you're looking for a place to train while on vacation or a gym to train at on a regular basis. Choose Ukiyo! Not to mention that the hours are very accommodating to your schedule. Love this facility!Angelika Ramos
Fantastic gym, honestly, only the best of the best equipment is available there. Great chemistry between the members. I felt so welcomed by everyone and especially the owner! Jaron is passionate and a hard worker! Best service and environment you can ask for! I’ll definitely stop by again whenever I’m back in Honolulu! Mahalo!Daniel Alvarenga

I have been working out at F45 Ala Moana for about 2 months now and I cannot say enough great things about it! From the beautiful open air setup, nice and new equipment, tons of class times to choose from, and best of all, the AMAZING coaches. I already can feel and see a difference in my body and energy since I started. It’s been such a great experience!Jennifer Hassett M.Ed.
Had billing issues the whole time. F45 charged me more than the agreed upon rate in their contract after the first week. F45 charged me for one additional week of membership after the 30 day cancelation policy. They act like they are your friends then want to nickel and dime you the whole way. I recommend taking your business elsewhere.Keeton Krause
Came here whilst on vacation in Waikiki. I received a very warm aloha welcome from both staff and members, which is consistent with most F45 gyms I have been to. The workout was tough and the humidity had me sweating buckets. I had a great time and look forward to working out here again.Paul B

Dropped in this morning for the 730a HPF with Theresa Ga and it was amazing. I’ve taken this class at another corepower studio with several other teachers and they are all incredible but Theresa really wowed me with the accuracy and attentiveness of her queuing as well as her use of verbiage that drew me out of my ego and into my heart space during all of the poses. Esp the ones that were most intense and challenging where my egoic doubts, insecurities and self judgements tends to creep up the most. Even experienced a small and much needed emotional release at the end in shavasana, something that only happens to me when the teacher guides the class in such a way that I am able to reach that sweet spot of mind body and soul balance by the end of class. Left class feeling stoked and grateful! Mahalo Theresa!Jhana Roy
5 star Hot yoga studio in the heart of Hawaii!! I love CorePower yoga Kahala studio very much!! Very clean and safe environment with excellent, kind studio manager and professional teachers!! They always encourage and lead students with their passion and positive mindset. I love taking Sculpt classes often and it’s excellent full body work out! They use weights, cardio, strengthening, stretch at the end and it’s fun working with upbeat music!! I also enjoy yoga classes and HPF to focus with my mind, body, soul to balance, be at center & peace. I highly recommend to practice at Kahala studio!! Love & light!!Minami Kato
This place is state of the art, beautiful, and clean. The manager, Nisreen, is gorgeous, focused, and smart. I am so glad my daughter, Sophia, introduced me to this studio. I visited from Hilo, on the island of Hawaii. Wonderful staff, and the classes are as described. Whatever specific class you choose, it will be the same sequence of poses, but the instructors introduce their own style of music for accompaniment and, of course their voices will be different. I loved it. I want to buy each instructor's music. It is that good. I can't wait to come back.Christine Jimenez

Review Summary
Dahn Yoga has been a great experience for me. I love to dance, but I was new to yoga. I am almost 70 years old and was feeling like I was getting very stiff and losing my flexibility. I really love the Dahn Yoga classes because the stretches make me feel like I am getting more flexible; more in balance; and I when I leave the class, the world just seem a bit brighter and I feel somewhat “lighter." The favorite part of the class for me is the brain energy “dance” which has wonderful music and really helps me get out of my busy brain and into a wonderful, calming space. The different teachers at Kaimuki teach a little differently, but I have found that all of them are wonderful. The other students are very friendly and welcoming. It is a very nice community. I highly recommend Dahn Yoga. SusanSusan Chandler
Where shall I begin… I have been coming to the center for over 4 years. I was introduced to the center and Master Cat by my friend Susan. It's hard to describe, but when I come I just feel good and relaxed. The energy of the class is something that I have not felt any where else. They've introduced me to a meditative state that I never got to when trying to meditate by myself. Also, Master Cat has designed the movements and meditation to suit anyone. It's good for beginners and for those already aware of their body. Lastly, I want to add that it's more than just body awareness, I've gained an awareness about my thoughts and how it affects my day. I just keep telling people, if you come with an open mind, the benefits are beyond what words can explain.Violet Donnim
“I am semi-retired and I am involved in a variety of activities. I have been attending the Dahn Yoga class in Kaimuki for about 8 months. This type of Yoga has enhanced my body with the right amount of exercise, meditation, etc. It greatly helps with my body conditioning. I was able to lose suborn pounds and make positive changes to my body. I am healthier than I was before I started. I was taking Anti-Depression medication for almost 3 years and a few months ago, with my Doctor's approval, stopped the medication. Dahn Yoga helps my stress levels and increases my confidence. It keeps my mind, body and spirit healthy. I am pleased that I discovered an exercise that works so well, I thoroughly enjoy and a center that takes a special interest in each student.”Sandy Balogh

My son and I started at IJJ about a month ago. There’s always an abundance of senpai (great Coaches) at the kids classes and they keep the learning fun and engaging. Im 42 and as out of shape as I’ve ever been… AKA: I can’t walk 2 days after coming to a class (but lucky for me there are classes every 2-3 days depending on what you want to work on.) and it gets a little easier every week. (Or so I hear, lol) That said it’s probably the most fun you can legally have with your clothes on and I look forward to every class. 😎Vaughn S
Love this place so much! My son just started coming a little over a month ago, and we have seen so much improvement in such a short time! With that said, my son is 8 years old with sensory processing disorder and is blind in his left eye. I never would have thought he was capable of doing a sport, but his progress has been incredible! Coaches are all so patient and encouraging! He loves attending classes and is excited to continue learning.Alanna Haraguchi
My now 7 year old daughter has been coming here for over a year. She loves it! My husband and I feel this was the best choice in school. Professor Jason is VERY good with the kids. The progress she has made in a year is incredible. She has chosen to compete in tournaments since her third month in training and has earned a sword and several medals. She is obsessed. Its a very tight knit friendly family. Very welcoming to all new studentsDorene Furtado

Review Summary
Being a former Figure Competitor in the bodybuilding world, I wasn't really that interested in yoga. But, my body was changing and I felt like I wanted something much less strenuous, so I would sporadically attend yoga classes here and there but always felt like I was looking for something a little deeper than the different poses we would do. I was in the Vitamin Shop and the Dahn Yoga center was doing free aura readings, so I got mine done. It was very interesting to have this person who knew nothing about me, very accurately explain what my energy was saying about me. I had a private session with the center manager the very next day and she gave me an introduction to what Dahn Yoga was all about. I immediately felt a connection to her and to Dahn Yoga because I truly felt they had the missing puzzle piece I was yearning for! I signed up as a member! I attended class the next day, where we did was simple body movements and stretches that helped with opening our body's energy centers so energy could flow properly. My favorite part of the class and the part that I felt was missing in all the other yoga styles I tried, was the guided meditation and breathing exercises. The instructors direct us to focus on the inside and to empty our brain of thoughts, stresses or anything that was bothering us. I had no idea that such simple movements could be so beneficial because I was AMAZED at how good I felt. I remember walking out of class with a smile on my face and feeling happy for no reason….this was HUGE for me! Bottom line, I am better able to manage my thoughts, emotions and can change my energy to be more positive in as little as one minute! I am deeply grateful that I found Dahn Yoga when I did, it has CHANGED.MY.LIFE!!Rani Mahelona
Dahn Yoga has changed my life for better. I have more energy, control of my thoughts, I can finally sleep at night and I am contagiously happy all the time now. I had tried many other forms of Yoga and although I enjoyed them, they were somewhat challenging for me. In February of 2012, I attended a meditation event and book signing where the Founder of Dahn Yoga, Ilchi Lee, gave a very powerful and moving speech. For attending the event, I received a free month of Dahn Yoga. I went to my first class and fell in love right away. By the end of the class I knew this was something I would do for the rest of my life. It's gentle, effective and life changing. 1 hour long class circulates my energy, makes me sweat, opens my body through simple stretches and the BEST part is the guided breathing meditation at the end. I was never able to calm the thoughts in my mind before, but here they teach you how to bring your focus inside your body so that you may truly connect with yourself. I love it! On top of feeling healthy and being in the best shape of my life, I am becoming involved in the community doing volunteer work and sharing with people how they can open up there bodies and heal themselves. I am forever grateful for finding Dahn Yoga.Karlie Ragan
Dahn Yoga Center is a modern wellness center with a traditional foundation of DahnMuDo martial arts. Dahn Yoga is a non impact holistic restorative practice. The instructors are great! The classes are fun and focus on relaxing the breath. The forms vary in dynamic postures to open circulation and increase range of motion. Dahn John tapping is the base warm up exercise to calm mind and activate body energy center. Martial principals of fire down water up are incorporated. Mindful body meditation is encouraged. I like sharing tea at the end of class while reflecting on the experience. This is high tech traditional energy cultivation in modern context. Dahn Yoga is for all ages & all skill levels. Ignite your fire flower energy center and tap in to your full potential at Dahn Yoga. Love It! EvolveChris Arthur

Catherine΅studio is one of a kind experience in terms of Hot Yoga. It has everything any yoga addict is looking for. It is also a great place for beginners to start their adventure in Hot Yoga or just enjoy a new experience as a visitor. It is clean, organised, and welcoming. Only master teachers from all around the world will teach you here. There are cameras strategically placed in the room. This allows the teacher to precisely see your postures and correct you if needed. I am always amazed at how the teacher can see even a slight error in my postures. The big bonus is the 5am class which allows you to practice every day if working a 9-5. The app used for booking a class makes it easy to reserve your spot or cancel a class. I have never felt in a better shape thanks to the amazing and hard worker owner of this studio. Catherine, you are simply the best!Sofia Oumoussa
The BEST yoga practice I’ve ever experienced. Catherine’s studios cultivate the feeling of belonging and family synergy that welcomes everyone. There’s nothing Superficial about the studio. It fulfills it’s purpose by making sure yogis have an amazing practice. Other studios my be bigger with more bells and whistles. But you won’t leave feeling like you’re just another dollar practicing yoga. Your yoga practice will significantly improve in the shortest amount of time, because of the nurturing and inviting instruction from TOP NOTCH professional yoga instructors.Constance Denmond
I purchased a 1 week visitor package which included a mat while in Honolulu. The studio is cozy, heat and humidity well controlled and staff was super helpful and friendly. Owner Katherine is so professional and welcoming. I really enjoyed practising at this studio and look forward to practising here again. All regular students seem to have discipline and are serious about their practise. I highly recommend taking a class at Hot Yoga Waikiki.Jacinta “Mia” Aman

Such an amazing thing experience! Went on our last day on Oahu as a wind down activity before the flight. Had no trouble finding the meet up location, and our class was about 7 people. We were able to leave keys, shoes, etc in the van. Krista was an incredible instructor, learning everyone’s names and making sure we all felt comfortable before getting started. You walk the boards out into waist high water before dropping anchor, so no need to worry about falling into deep water. As someone with some yoga experience, this was definitely doable but a little more interesting and fun than a normal class. We started with sitting poses and eventually worked up to standing poses, like Tree. Krista takes amazing pictures of everyone and had them up on Facebook to download by the end of the day. Thank you Krista for an amazing and memorable class. Must do and very worth the $50 – when else will you be able to take a yoga class on a paddle board?!Natalie Wong
I've done yoga, and I love to SUP, but I have never tried doing them at the same time. This morning class was such a great experience! The instructor provided basic instructions and got us on our boards about waist-deep in the water. The location was perfect and calm, great for those new to yoga and SUP. The class moved through basic yoga poses with modifications for those new to yoga. They even provided us photos at the end! Great instructor and class; I highly recommend the company and the experience.Jacquelynn Crabb
Amazing experience! We attended their evening light up paddle board yoga session and it was so so beautiful! The instructor was awesome and friendly and the class itself was suitable for beginners as well as offering more challenging poses for those who felt ready. We lucked out and our class was also a fireworks night so we got to watch those from our boards after our savasana. My only regret is not being in Hawaii long enough for a second class! Worked with Off Leash for my 15 month old Yorkshire Terrier, Winston. Winston’s Main issues: Fearful Anxiety, mainly Separation anxiety Barks a lot at familiar faces and out of fear We completed the 8-week reactivity and aggression program with the head trainer, Sherry. She works with the dogs in this program so your pup will be in great hands. We learned basic obedience, sit, down, place, and heel. With the obedience commands we worked through his behavior issues and building his confidence. Sherry was super knowledgeable on how to handle Winston’s behavioral issues. She immediately knew what to do when we would come across Winston’s fear and anxiety during training and worked it through. She also provided me with extensive knowledge on how to handle my dog outside of the training sessions. I believe Winston and I are well equipped to take our training even further especially after completing the course. Based on my full experience, I find Sherry and her team at Off Leash to be very credible and trust their judgement. I inquired with another dog training business prior to Off Leash, and they diagnosed my dog with severe aggression and reactivity and would require great muzzle training before meeting a trainer. Their full diagnosis did not sound like my dog. However, when inquiring with Sherry, she concluded that there was no aggression but rather strong anxiety. I was assured by our first session when we didn’t need to muzzle. In addition Winston was not reactive nor aggressive towards Sherry when she handled him. I highly recommend Sherry and Off Leash if your dog has a similar issues like mine, or anyone that’s looking to build a great relationship between human and pup. Winston and I are in much better place now. It has strengthened our relationship and for that I’m most thankful.R Vidad
I can’t say enough positive things about K9 Off Leash Training and more specifically the trainer Ashley. We originally signed up our very disobedient 1 yr old for training and the two week program to learn basic obedience and commands. He is VERY people and dog selective which means he doesn’t like everyone. He responded so well to Ashley and her energy and style of training. Of course he was a stubborn bulldog at first, but she was able to build a bond quickly and knock down his walls to get him to learn. Once complete with the two weeks of training it was like we got back a completely different, well mannered, more behaved dog. We were so impressed we decided to send out other dog, who didn’t need to learn discipline cues, she was already well behaved and a people pleaser, but very shy with some anxiety and easily skiddish. Ashley explained that the same type of training would be good for her also, but instead of discipline she would gain CONFIDENCE. I thought it was far fetched because how can you teach that, but amazing Ashley did! Now instead of two codependent dogs who one relied on for support and one who simply didn’t listen, I have two well rounded, confident and behaved doggies. Well worth it! This training is awesome, more importantly lasting! And Ashley was by far so helpful in providing my very different dogs with their wants and needs. She gave daily updates, watched their diet and activity level and always kept safety at the forefront. Highly recommend Ashley!Jacky Gregg
Our 1.5 year old German Shepherd was rehomed to us when she was around 7 months. Shortly after she started to display signs of reactivity. At first we weren’t sure why she acted that way due to the lack of knowledge about reactive dogs. She often lunged and barked at people and dogs passing by on our walk, we weren’t able to have people over because she wouldn’t stop barking. We tried researching, watching YouTube videos to educate ourselves of her situation. Although we had a good understanding on how to help her, we wanted to try on our own first. With little improvement over a 6 month period, it was finally time to see help from a trainer. We did our research and found a great Reactivity Training Program that Off Leash K9 Training offered. From the first call after inquiring, we spoke with Sherry and she was super awesome! At our first lesson, our dog Millie was barking and lunging at Sherry and she would only be able to stay a certain distance away from us or else Millie would bark more. By the end of the first session we saw a lot of improvement. Sherry was able to get much closer to Millie without her barking. Sherry has taught us so many helpful tools to better improve Millie’s confidence and trust. She would ALWAYS answer our questions and give us so many helpful tips. After every session she would send us cute pictures of us with Millie. I would highly recommend their programs to anyone! Words can’t describe how happy we are seeing Millie with more confidence. 🙂Shelley Shiroma

I’ve been with them for 6 months now and there’s no going back to 24 Hour Fitness and such. I was over 300 lbs back then and now 40 lbs lighter. I must give credit to my diet, but these guys are keeping my discipline in check for sure even on days when I don’t go to classes. It’s a bit of price jump if you’re coming from low end gyms, but trust me when I say it’s worth every penny. You will get personal attention and help with every movement and problem, they will cheer for you every step of the way and you will feel that your workouts are balanced and done correctly. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the rest of the class in my weight, but there’s no such thing in OTF, they make it work for you and your goals. Please come here even if you have zero gym experience, I wish I knew about them sooner!Sasha Fedorova
Killer workouts and the coaches are seriously dedicated and just flat out good people. Ryan and Gabe are the ones I see most often bc of my schedule and they make each workout fun and motivating. I've improved my run time enormously since starting here, running 2 miles in under 18 for the first time since hurting my neck and having spine surgery 3 years ago. Started out walking and have progressed to regularly running sprints or all outs at a 6 minute mile pace. ❤C T
Orangetheory Kaka’ako has been my studio for the last year and a half and I couldn’t be happier with the staff (shout out to Hannah!), the coaches (EK!) and the facility itself. I’ve never left without a great workout under my belt. Recently I had to freeze my membership due to a life event and the process was smooth to freeze and resume. Fantastic studio and I’ll be coming for a long time to come.Terra Roisin
