20 Best Emt Programs In Springfield, MA (2022 Updated)

I took the CNA ‘Plus’ programme there back in October 2021. For $2395 we never got a clinical! And the facilities and equipment provided were unbelievable! One mannequin with its leg falling out and not even a proper night gown to keep it from being exposed! Sheets were dirty! Equipment faulty, and now we are STILL waiting to take our state licensure exams! If you’re taking the CNA programme, do not take the “plus part” it is a waste of money and time. State Street U is amazing. I attended 22 years ago and stopped by for the first time since then and I was amazed to find, updated buildings, a beautiful store, and a whole new feel. The professors and professionals were mostly great when I was there and though I don't attend, I had a chance to talk to administrators and they are still amazing. It is a fantastic education at a great price. If you are looking for a great community college, look no further than STCC. I do not recommend this school to anyone. There was a lot of grade school style homework and a broad spectrum of effort put in by my professors. Most of my homework was distributed digitally by the respective text book's website — NOT the professor. This created a huge disconnect when discussing homework issues in class. It was frustrating knowing my professors were not curating our homework, rather, it was being outsourced by a subsidized textbook. Their job is to educate, but remember they are there to make a profit. I could not afford my bill so they sold my debt to a collection agency.J s

My first college experience was here and it wasn't a particularly good one. The building is nice with a very comfortable atmosphere, though the parking lot is a nightmare. There is not WiFi through the entire building, which is infuriating for a student with an on campus class that is also entirely on the internet. Great school. but I think if we're paying $300.00 for a book and paying $8.00 on top of that for shipping a signature should be required from UPS and some type of insurance on it. Most of the bad reviews are coming from people who had ONE bad experience at like the book store or whatever or i gEt tHiEr aDs oN hUlu, though the veteran who shared his story probably has a decent case to make. Anyway I got a business degree from this college and if you actually try you can do really really well here, with great professors and programs like the honors program which gives high level learning at bottom dollar, and wonderful faculty like the folks at PTK, disability services, or the Fuller Center. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to work on regarding graduation rates, the food, no one card system, etc but I couldn't give this place anything less than 5 stars because of all of the wonderful people who give 110% here, especially in those departments I mentioned. If you live in Worcester don't spend 30k a year to go to Assumption, you'll save so much money to come here. Seek opportunity, study for your tests, respect your professors and faculty, and most importantly, do your damn homework; I guarantee you'll be a success at this place if you do all of these things.Clark Kent

The qcc "police" are some of the most unqualified and unempathetic people in the area. There is no doubt they have no training, no expertise in law and zero idea of what they are doing. Maybe they should take some courses while they work their jobs at qcc in criminal justice. Maybe they can get a handle on their jobs. This is an awesome school and I am so disappointed that one teacher ruined it all for me. DO NOT take Professor Jane Joyce accounting classes or any classes from her. She is awful and not a good teacher in general. You will waist your money, time, and probably want to rip your hair out when she talks. I took a Stop the Bleed class today with my sister and friends and we loved it! The hands on part was my favorite. Jeff, the instructor is very knowledgeable, professional and fun to be around. I recently attended Coastal Career Academy in Fall River, MA. I attended the February – April evening classes. It’s a great school. They helped me accomplish a huge step in my life, a first step to a much brighter more promising future. I signed up for the Nursing Assistant program. It’s a 100 hour program, in which they provide everything necessary to get you ready for your state test. Signing up was easy. It’s a decently priced school. And one of the few in which are still open during this pandemic. Debbie owns and runs the school. She can be a bit scarce and hard to get a hold of but she’s honestly got so much going on with all the programs her school provides and getting them together for both attending and up coming students. My CNA instructor was very professional, great with communication and very thorough with teaching. She is willing to go the extra mile to help you with anything you need to learn or practice. She made sure myself and my class were well prepared for our state test. Coastal Career Academy provides you with both morning and evening classes which is great for anyone who needs a flexible schedule for attending Coastal Career Academy. With the variety of courses they offer you honestly can’t go wrong. I recently passed my state test on both my Clinical and Knowledge test. I couldn’t be more happier and I plan on coming back for a few more things like CPR and EKG. The school is very unprofessional and the director will rip you off. Although my teacher was kind and put a lot of effort into preparing us for our CNA state test, she was not trained or prepared to teach us because the director (Debbie) hired her on the day classes started and didn’t give her the proper material to teach us with. Who has students pay a down payment for a class that may or may not have a teacher? Many payments made by the students were lost and misplaced and the director tried making it seem like people owed more than what they actually did. She just cares about the money. The secretary even agreed that the director will rip you off. Our class complained about not feeling prepared for the state test to Debbie. She demanded a mandatory skills class for two days, only did it for one and said “we’ll be fine”. People who shouldn’t have failed, failed. If you are looking into local schools in the Fall River area for CNA, Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant etc. I highly recommend Coastal Career Academy, I was a little hesitant on going back to school but the owner and instructor Deb Gomes helped me break out of my shell and nipped my what if attitude in an instant. You don’t just learn from Deb or any of her instructors you become family. From dealing with stressed out students nervous about state exams, or taking time to help with job placement even after you have been certified they continue to be there. Enjoy the facility. I suggest that the State of Conn move the entire college to the old Enrico Fermi High School, and leave the entire Manufacturing program at its present location. You can make ACC the premier destination for manufacturing training in North Central Connecticut, and South Central Mass.. Partner up with UTC Raytheon, Ham Standard and all of the major / minor manufacturing companies in the Greater Hartford and Springfield area. They could provide grant in aid, job placement, work release programs, internships, classes from 8 am to 10 pm and weekend accelerated programs. Instructors would be retired or semi retired manufacture personell who have had training experience. Offer a sign on bonus up graduation, reimbursement of tuition and job placement assistance for the next three years. If I could give this "college" zero stars, I would. I took a few classes there for a week and a half because I needed some cheap credits in order to graduate early from my real school. I'm not typically a judgmental person, but after about ten minutes I couldn't believe how much of a joke it was. First off, the place reeks. Like I'm not sure how it's scientifically possible for any building to smell that bad. Furthermore, two of my professors could barely speak English and another one was extremely uptight and treated the students like 3rd graders. You know it's bad when your Spanish teacher's comprehension of the English language is spectacular compared to the other teachers. But what was most pathetic was a large portion of the "students." Most of them clearly didn't want to be there, which is ridiculous considering you're paying for further education so you should want to be in school. A lot of kids were clearly low functioning, ignorant, and unmotivated. The one moment I'll remember for a while was when a kid had to get escorted out because he was on meth. I hope he can get help with his addiction, but you can't have students coming into class drooling and expect anybody to take this place seriously. So, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't recommend the school to anyone who is evenly remotely educated. I've heard it makes illegal Mexicans hop back over the border because they realized they can get a better education on the other side.David Leicht

MassBay changed my life for the better. After attending a college that wasn’t right for me, MassBay saved the day. In my 3 semesters, I have had wonderful professors and the administration has been incredible. Transferring into and out of the school were made extremely easy, and I would recommend this school to anyone looking to work towards a degree. Everyone here WANTS you to graduate and succeed and you can feel that in all aspects of the college. (Wellesley campus): Student parking is (I think) free and in close proximity to campus. Advising, financial aid, and the bookstore were all very knowledgeable and helpful. All classes and administrations are all in one building. The lady at student accounts in Wellesley seems unhappy with her job and gives you so much attitude for wanting to know why it's taking 2 months to get a response back from them. Westfield State is an amazing school with professors that go above and beyond to make you feel accepted. Yes, some professors are better than others, but overall the community is very safe and equal, and makes you feel genuinely happy to be attending school there. Second semester here. I’ve experienced tremendous support from faculty and staff. Great human service program. Library is nice and computer lounges that provide snacks, meals and coffee. They have a farmers market and a clothing drive. They deal with mental health of students and encourage student involvement with the school as much as possible. Always job fairs and school recruiters in the Spurk building. Decent cafe and energy drinks always available, salads too. When I reached out to make contact and try to address and resolve the issue, the staff was extremely condescending. I received nothing but negativity and crude sarcasm from the two females. Holyoke Community College is not the ideal college for students with Learning Disabilities. The Disability office fails students with learning disabilities and suggests classes that are not the right fit for the students learning style and when they issues getting the book ECT the office for students with disabilities blames the student for it when it's on the office of students disabilities is at fault. Holyoke community college makes a big deal on how great the office with students with disabilities is and the truth is it is a horrible experience for students with learning disabilities. Holyoke community doesn't follow up with professors to make sure they are following the students accommodation agreements from the office with students with disabilities instead they side with the professor that is not following the students accommodation agreement which is against the Law. Holyoke Community College also makes the student pay money for classes that HCC placed them in. They should not make students with learning disabilities Pay for a class that they messed up with placing the student in. The head of the office with students with disabilities acts like she has an attitude like the student is bothering her and sends angry and nasty tone emails to the student who she is suppose to help support. Holyoke Community College office for students with disabilities is a joke and needs to be restaffed with people who.csre about students with learning disabilities. If you have a learning disability I recommend applying to Westfield State University for better college experience and kind support. HCC office or students with disabilities staff also gossips with teachers from high schools about students too. This why HCC is very poor . Don't waste the moment here. HCC office with students with disabilities is a Joke don't count on them for support . They will jus tblame you for things you had no control over. And they side with some high school teachers who also mis treat students with learning disabilities. The best support system I had at HCC was Ken White who was the dean of community service s he supported me from day one not like the office of student with disabilities.ED Clancy the English 095-101. Professor also supported me at HCC and he understood me better then Nancy at the office with students of disabilities. Ed Clancy is amazing Professor and should be recognized. Personally I wish this school could get me a bachelors. I spent 3 years here and loved every minute of it. Only had one pror two problems with professors but good ones out weighed the bad. Great to start if you're not sure what you want to study at first. Disabilities office was very helpful as I have dyslexia/learning disabilities, they were always offering ways to help me get my accommodations for professors. I believe those who leave 1 star reviews are mostly students upset their parents didn't want to waste $30,000+ on an education they'll probably just either party away or drop out of in a semester. I believe HCC gets you ready for the real world and those who are not aware of that definitely aren't ready for the real world. Overall HCC is a place where you get what you put into it. If you want to push yourself, talk to professors, take harder classes. If you are finding that a class is tough, most professors are willing to work with you to help you pass your classes. What's great about HCC is that there really is a space for everyone and felt safe, if you are ever uncomfortable in a situation, administration is always willing to walk with you to your car or bus and be on the down low on the issue if you need to talk to higher administration about such issues. As someone who took advantage of a lot of the programs there, I still wish I had taken advantage of a lot more. But I had a great time there and truely wish the best for future graduates. There are so many issues with HCC I don't know where to start. First of all why is all the food so unhealthy? I know there is no cafeteria, but the school could at least invest in some healthy meals for people. Also why are the professors so rude. All the professors I have had tell me how I'm always wrong, and then go on to explain how there knowledge is superior. I think most people that go to school here do not enjoy it at all. The floors, classrooms, and bathrooms are filthy most days since there is so little cleaning that is done here. There is very little student life or activities at this school. Most students go to class, and go home, or go to work. A lot of the classes at this school are not reality based, there based on what the government wants students to know. In my personal opinion this school worsens people's emotional and mental well being. I just don't get how a school could be allowed to operate in this fashion, plus cost thousands of dollars a year to go to. If you want to sit in plastic and metal chairs all day, and listen to someone tell you that they are smarter than you than this might be the school for you. In my experience, many of the staff are very rude, does not provide good and timely response, let alone horrible customer service. Let’s talk about the lack of quality work and the lack of academic advising performance. There isn’t any quality in that area at all, no “attention to detail” No one Seems have a clue or worse, they don’t focus on the older online students. The main focus is on the young students, and no one else seems to matter. For the amount of money we pay to attend this private school the service they provide does match our money at all. Let’s talk about some of the Professors. They might have PhD’s but they certainty behave themselves as not having no education at all in the way they communicate with students. Rude, unprofessional. For many of them it’s just a title and nothing more. Students surveys really need to be considered to possibly improve in certain areas that continues to lack in professionalism and “attention to detail.” Please start with the academic advising for the online students. This review is solely based on the library, which is open 24 hours of the day. The library comes with a Starbucks, and four floors providing ample amount of seating. The furniture is quite nice, and relatively comfortable. There are a great deal of computers to be used by students, and it comes with a gender inclusive bathroom on each level. This school is BY FAR, one of the BEST I have ever attended. Some time ago, I was looking to get my Paramedic. Due to my job, the traditional "Brick & Mortar" style schooling wasnt going to work for me. I searched high and low for courses that offered an online learning platform. I stumbled across one to two more in my searches. Here is what I based my criteria on: Cost, flexibility, bang for my buck, pass rate (which no one holds a candle to), ability to gather info on the program, and personality of the staff I spoke with. During my time of research and making the final decision of where I should attend, NMETC was the only one I felt at peace with when it came to handing over a healthy sum of money and my future. Not only did they teach us, but we learned how to rock solid Paramedics! I would have not gotten to where I am at today if it wasnt for this outstanding group of people and instructors! If you are looking to get you EMT or obtain that Paramedic "Golden Glitter Patch", look no further. You will not be disappointed after it is all complete and you look back on your time here. It took me some time to actually write a review but I thought this through and think others should as well before paying for the course. I took the hybrid paramedic course and the online portion was somewhat beneficial but also very expensive for what you're getting. The part I was most disappointed with is the leadership and some of the instructors. The in-person portion was taught by a few burned out paramedics who seemed to care about putting down students rather than lift them up. I will say there were a couple instructors who actually seemed to care but overall the program leaves a lot to be desired. If you're willing to pay quite a bit of money for a cert honestly I would look elsewhere even with the convenience of learning from home or at the site. There are plenty of other programs with instructors who will respect you, your time and money.Kyle D

I can’t stay enough about the quality of this program. After completing an EMT course here over the summer I was able to go into testing for my license with confidence that I had been given all the tools to succeed and not only pass the exam but hopefully go on to be a good provider for future patients. The instructors here are the best you’ll find anywhere and go out of their way to make sure that any student who wants to succeed will be able to reach that goal. Joe and Rachel were our two main instructors and they really are what shaped my experience at NMETC so they deserve a shout out for the time and efforts they make to make this program what it is. The tutors they hire are a bunch of lazy people who are only there to make money, then you have the professors who isn't motivative to help students accomplish their goals. They're ain't very helpful, they like to sit on their desk all day and wait for the hours to be completed. Advisors have no clue what there doing, professors do not care about the students and the staff in general is extremely unprofessional even leaving students on read with urgent emails or even kicking. Beautiful campus. Only issue is I went to go tour today and my friends needed to use the bathroom. We told the security resource officer that we were touring and were still denied because we weren't students. I understand they were doing their job but in the future, I hope they can be more welcoming and open up some student only things such as the bathrooms to potential new students.Frog Boy
