Writing a review for UNMC is an emotional task for me because they have been there for my mom and family through life, sickness, recovery, health, and even death. In all they've been there for they did right, without judgement or bias, and with care, hope, and support. I live in Kansas, but I know this hospital and all the towers better than some streets near my home. I've interacted with many specialty doctors, nurses, techs, housekeeping staff, ER, security team members, and so many others. We've experienced teams in Kidney Transplant, Wound Care, Cardiovascular, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Derm, Cancer Center, and the Comfort Care Team. I can tell you that these teams are here because they love what they do. If you're considering UNMC as a new place to care for your needs I would do so without hesitation. When my mom moved they were so helpful in her transition to Kansas. Without them we'd be lost. We will miss each of her teams, their knowledge, and their care. It was so hard to leave.Tam E

Very disappointed in care provided. Nursing seems sorely under staffed. Although they frequently have cell phone in hand. Communication between staff (doctors and nursing staff)is lacking. Communication of providers and patients is insufficient. Facility is dirty dusty and run down. And should we talk about HIPPA….nothing to talk about….it doesn't exist there. Hep locks do not get flushed even after several days….negligent much? Showers/bed baths not offered to patient even after 3 days in-house. Are they trying for some nosocomial infections?S B

Today I went to Nebraska medical center and the eye clinic. The people that are very friendly and nice it's clean has three levels. The doctor I seen seem very knowledgeable and was very concerned with my eye condition it was funny when we first pulled up and parked in the first row there was a broom next to the handicap sign made me laugh remind me of handicap which parking. Someone probably had clean snow off their car with the broom and left it there.Karen Beautiful

This review is for the phlebotomy course at NMC, NMC's teaching, and my clinical experience. The course is broken up into 2 weeks in the classroom and 3 weeks in clinical rotation. I rate the classroom teaching as exemplary. Professor Di Lorenzo is passionate about what she teaches and very knowledgeable about phlebotomy and lab work, as she is an industry veteran. One would think that as a NMC student, being sent to Methodist Hospital for clinical rotation would be a good match, as the hospital and school are linked (students are sent to non-Methodist sites as well). There was no organized training program or trainer, thus no consistency. We were assigned daily to phlebotomists that were working the floor on that day. Overall I trained with at least 8-10 people. There were only 2 people I worked with where I sensed he/she trusted me, had patience, and was willing to demonstrate skills and answer questions, and treat me with general respect. Otherwise, I dealt with poor attitude, at times being abandoned by the trainer (where did they go?), and a general lack of interest in training and responsibilities that go along with it. The person promoted to the training coordinator position towards the end of our clinical rotation is a good phlebotomist. However unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if this person's severe demeanor puts potential new employees off. During the time I spend with this person, I sensed I was being brow-beaten. I didn't feel welcome at Methodist Hospital as a student, and sensed the students were a burden to be dealt with. As a non-employee, one could also sense the malcontent between employees and management. Said management seemed to take very little interest in our training (i.e. asking how training was going, what our overall goals are, asking how did we did in classroom training, etc.). NMC is a great and reputable college and has a great teaching staff. The clinical portion, which is a large portion of the course, was a disappointment.Omaha Phlebstudent

I have been a pediatric OR nurse for a while now and am based out of Seattle. I was previously a traveler and have taken classes in Omaha, Denver, and Seattle. New View Training was hands down the BEST experience I have had with PALS. I would recommend it to anyone and would even fly in from Seattle for this course in 2 years when I take it again. The way Bethany taught, it just made sense. I have been in healthcare for a little over 10 years and have memorized most of what should be done, but Bethany took it to another level. Those things I had memorized came with a rationale that made sense for as to why you might be in a particular situation and how to help in that situation. It was almost as if it clicked in my head finally because of the way she taught us. I am also very nervous when it comes to taking these classes, but the learning environment they created was so incredibly friendly and not intimidating in the slightest bit. I never felt dumb or overwhelmed with information and that gave me confidence that I can be comfortable and competent in helping to care for patients in multiple types of situations. I am very thankful to New View Training and would recommend to anyone in the community and to healthcare providers. They offer a variety of classes that have great information for when you might be in a situation that you could help save someone's life.Carrie Waring

This was my first experience as a coordinator for a Lay AED/CPR training for my church. i am a retired nurse of 50 years. And I have to say this presentation was phenomenal!. I really didn't know what to expect, since all my training has always been in the medical arena. But everyone ( including the 2 other nurses on this team, 1 retired and 1 still active) was so pleased with the comfortable and friendly teaching prowess of the trainer! Everyone got exactly what they needed to feel as comfortable as possible in the event we actually have an emergency event that would call on us to assist. Thank you New View!! This training site is amazing you guys. I took ACLS course there and it is by far the best ACLS class I've taken. Bethany was great at breaking down the information and making it clear to understand, I understand all the rhythms and I now get all AV blocks!!; And Tea lovers, they have Tea, everywhere I go coffee is available, they have all kinds of tea there. Very quick, relatively simple process. You wait in line, show your id and QR code, blow your nose, get your test. Results should be available within 72 hours, but from most I've heard about a 24 hour turn around.Carson Leiting

I am a (more mature) student at Southeast (SCC) and am taking full-time, in person classes this quarter. I am very impressed with the facility, the hours, and the cost. I was very disappointed with a few faculty members I have spoken with on the phone that had been a bit short and unhelpful, but I gave not spoken with them since, never caught their names, and called in the last days of registration. Beyond this review, I plan to forget it and ignore that incident. The classes have been convenient for me, the teachers are very helpful, and the cost is so much lower than I had hoped. They offer tons of services to help you succeed, including fitness classes! The building (8800 O St), is an interesting combination of old brick with retro paint schemes, combined with new light and airy additions. The classrooms are pretty typical, the technology similar to other college campuses I have visited. Love the new cafeteria. In addition to online courses, SCC also has several other campus options in Lincoln, Milford and Beatrice, and satellite campuses in several other towns (I have only been to the downtown location and 8800 O St location personally). I highly recommend checking SCC out!!Not Telling

I attended the Auto Collision program and graduated back in 2006. I did not stay on campus but at times wish i would have had that experience. They offered a lot of different activities at that time from sports to game rooms and other programs i really could have taken advantage of. All of my teachers were very knowledgeable in their area. At times it does seem like a lot to take in because they do have a lot to teach, but that is why you chose a tech school and not a four year school. They gave me all the tools needed to get me started in my field of choice and i am still in that field today. They have made many of changes to the Collision shop since i have gone there. I love stopping out and seeing all the changes and expansion when i can and they always welcome back with open arms. I would recommend the Auto Collision program and the overall School in general to anyone looking to attend. SCC Milford Class of 2016 Auto Collision. BDPaul Spanel

This college is still under construction so it's looking pretty wild right now. The new remodeled parts like the cafeteria and study places look nice and bright. I have attended this college intermittently therefore I have noticed more of the changes throughout the years. In my opinion there are advisors that do not care to help you figure everything out but that being said there are some advisors that go that extra mile and help you much more than you expected. I have attended other colleges and this one is okay. I would definitely recommend that if you are wanting to start classes and go into a program that you talk to advisors, dean of the program or whatnot but don't give up just because one person didn't help you; find someone else who can help you.Aunty Fanny

Horrible experience with DR. Sanjay Singh, M.D. Diagnosed me with Epilepsy and ruined my family and I's lives. We were forced to move out of state to get "actuall" medical care, would never reccomend Nebraska as a place to even set foot in for a busted wrist…it will cost you more than you would think.Emperor Caligula
