You're going to overpay MASSIVELY for an education CC can give. The only thing I credit this school for is the friends I still have from there. They will compromise on Christian values to be more politically correct. And avoid having firm stances on issues to appease all. Constantly changing what the Bible says and church doctrine for PC culture. For classes, 90% you'll never need or use and the professors use it as their time to spread their extremely radical political beliefs. Adding, 90% of professors are hired based on their work in the field and not for teaching ability. Making you buy their expensive textbook for a class and never using it once. You must have their opinions or risk being failed for no reason. By trying to please everyone they make everyone mad and they wonder why enrollment has gone down drastically. Which is also due to the fact of them taking away classes and value while hiking up tuition rates. Lastly, they say they do everything they can to help their graduates succeed. Laughable. Almost no support at all and don't prepare anyone for the real world. For the support after college. That's just them trying to get you to send them more money after you wasted 100k there. Charged me 50.00 dollars for not obtaining a new parking pass (220.00) in my second year. I was not aware I needed to renew it as they do not send out any correspondence to advise students of this. Being a low income student, I sent a vulnerable genuine appeal to the safety department. They denied my appeal and when I asked to talk with someone in person about my situation they simply forwarded me the handbook over and over… for an institution that preaches grace, and compassion, they certainly don’t practice it when it comes to money. My husband was on the nursing wait list for ten years. He is a veteran and a hard worker. He was told the RN wait list was 2-3 years by Sue Helmer. The professors goals are to make students repeat classes for monetary gain. This is what happened to my husband and several of his classmates. Failure is encouraged at this school. Students teach themshelves. My husband have retaken most of his classes because some of his teachers could not find proof of his final grades. Also the office lost his important paper work. He was marked down for failing the classes, and had to retake them over. Cora Beute, and Michelle Richter refused to look into their system, and marked him absent for classes when he was present. The financial aid department charged him twice for many of his classes.The administration took advantage of him having auto pay for classes. He was overcharged several of times. One thing after the next. My husband is now attending Grand Valley University. He had to retake more than seven classes over because some of GRCC classes are not transferable. A bunch of time wasted. My husband regret going to GRCC. I will recommend anyone to run from this scum of a place.护士Diane

Admission staff isn't very helpful. I'm being told on the FAFSA and by others if you live alone you do not have to fill out the parent information field just to call up here and have them tell me that's not the case. I'm in my twenties with my own place. Not seventeen just getting out of HS. I graduated five years ago so why do I need parent info? This is the latest addition though to a list of complaints. Just finally annoyed enough to leave a review. I've been considering for the last few years going to school and I have not committed yet due to personal circumstances. But every time I do seriously set my sights on it I find myself frustrated with the people I end up speaking with. Only giving two stars because I'm hopeful that my experience with the education side of things will be a lot better than all the tedious steps you have to do just get in and get assistance.A. My short experience has been good here. Although parking can be a mess, and often times people's card will not allow them to leave (it lets them in though) and the person on the telecom won't let them out, they want them to back up (when there's 20 cars bumper to bumper in line waiting to leave) and come inside. Or they can pay 4x the regular amount via credit card and then they'll be able to leave right then and there. Unnecessary hassle, a joke considering they're getting thousands of dollars every DAY simply from parking fees alone. Should attend common sensical decency meeting once a year.Patrcia Clemons

This wasn’t my first time taking CPR and basic first aid training, but it was certainly the best one. Bob had us practice scenarios that could actually happen in our location/job. We were able to practice as a team, which also strengthened our bond together. Bob offered practical advice and a lot of positivity and praise. He made it easy to ask questions without judgement. And I am 5’1”, but this was the first training where an instructor showed me how to modify the Heimlich maneuver to be more effective and safer for me and the patient. Take action cpr is by far the best cpr 1st aid training class I have taken. A lot of my guys on our security team were hesitant and not excited to take the class. Every person raved about Bob and the class afterwards and said they would take it again. The class is very affordable in a group rate setting and 100% worth it! Kyle was the instructor he was very knowledgably, had real life experience's as am EMT to share and he made each class fun! Forty of our staff went through the class and everyone of them had nothing but great things to say about the experience. We plan to utilize them at least twice a year to maintain our clinical staffs certification.Jen

Started a new job in the Grand Rapids area back on 5/4, called Nye to get my order placed. In the meantime I went to the store as my order that I had placed was going to take too long to get before I started my new job, not a problem. I bought a pair thinking I was only going to have to use that one pair of scrubs for a week. Well three weeks goes by and I still haven't received any updates about my order, so I called Nye. The man on the phone was very agitated, saying that a lot of orders have not been able to be processed because his seamstress is out sick so they had to use a different company for their embroidery orders. He then told me that I would be given a call by the end of the week FOR SURE. I called him again over a week later again asking about my scrubs. He said that they were in and I can come and pick them up whenever, great! Oh but they have changed their hours so they close at 5:00 pm now, I usually do not get out of work until 4:45 so there is no time to get there. I asked if they still had weekend hours, as when I first picked up my first set up scrubs it was on a Saturday, he said no due to Covid we had to cut our days down. You would think that they are losing business as there are still many essential medical employees working that need to buy scrubs! So my wife went this passed Wednesday and picked them up for me. The man was very rude to her in person. Be rude to me over the phone or in person is one thing, now you have been rude to my wife on top of not getting my order ready on time and having horrible communication with your customers, I WILL NO LONGER BE USING NYE UNIFORM!! I recommend that the owner work on his customer service skills or just hand the business to someone who actually cares. I needed scrubs for work and paid to have them embroidered. Knowing it would take some time for this to happen, I placed the order 14 days in advance of when I needed them. I was told my order would be ready in 5-7 business days. Fast forward 2 weeks- I received no update on my order and needed scrubs for work the next day. Not only did my scrubs receive a delay and no one felt to update me, but if I wanted something to wear for work the next day, I would have to pay ADDITIONAL to my original $90 order! I am very disappointed to understand that because NYE was too slow on their promise to have my order ready, I myself had to pay for it!! At no point along this timeline did anyone offer to compensate me, notify me of the delay, or even apologize in any way. I understand everyone is going through a tough time right now, but is some simple courtesy on a small local business transaction too much to ask? After speaking with them a second time my order was still not ready until today, a month after I placed the original order… I am glad to finally just have what I need, and not have to go back to NYE for anything.Jacob Burnham

I placed an order 3 weeks before I need it for work. Keep in mind 3 weeks is more than 14 days. I called back around 10 days to keep track of it, the lady on the phone answered with an attitude and told me it is not 14 days yet. Ok that's my bad! I waited until yesterday which is more than 14 days, almost 3 weeks long. The guy told me THE WAREHOUSE lost my order that I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET AFTER 14 DAYS. Blamed everything else but themselves for not checking on the status of the order. Promised me that I can come the next day and part of my order should be ready. I went to apply for their welding job training program for the fall of 2015, but was told they had openings for the upcoming class. I had the majority of money for class already, but was hoping to find a weekend job before I started. My GF convinced me to go thru with it though, so I was rushed through the application process a week and a half before their job training program started. First problem I had was that, financial aid took two months to get back with me and, someone failed to enter me into the system correctly, so they had no record of me even taking any classes. Second problem was that, their banking service(Nelnet) never charged me for the classes and, even though I brought this up to numerous staff at the school and to Nelnet themselves, nothing was done about it. THEN, since "I didn't pay" for my tuition, I wasn't supposed to get the certificate of completion for the course and, yet I still freaking got it!!!! Not only that, but it was required that I waste my time going to hour long "lessons" from Mi Works staff. That's 18 hours of practice time that I lost to hear about some BS information that I either knew, didn't care about, or affected me in any way. It's taken them a year to do anything, even though I've told them NUMEROUS TIMES about the issues and, instead of contacting me to resolve the issue, they sent the due tuition straight to collections!Robert Deford

Twelve years ago I went through the computer repair/information technology program back in 2009. I will say that I have the skills to pay the bills but everyone uses a smartphone and not a computer. Present day I paid off my bad debt of a student loan and I am in a job not remotely related to IT. Where can I get a refund for the past 10 years of paying on something that I could of learned for free by watching youtube? In anycase the refund isn't going to happen and Grcc feeds its students blatant lies saying they will find work in their chosen field. I took the paramedic course about 13 years ago. The instructors were awesome and because of their teaching, I worked for an ambulance service until suffering a back injury. KCTC is an amazing school designed to help students and give them opportunities, but the office ladies… not so much. I and multiple students have discussed our dislike of the two ladies in the office. They’re often rude, unhelpful, and act like we are a nuisance when we come in. If they help you it’s only half-a** and with a lot of sass that often ends up leaving you feeling bad for even talking to them. The school is amazing… I just think this is an issue that needs to be addressed because now I don’t even want to go to the office for help and would rather struggle on my own.Madison McCauley

KCTC is a great experience and opportunity for any one who is in High School and would like to do some career exploration. KCTC is the place for you. I went to KCTC in my senior year of High School. I took the Intro To Hospitality course, Mr. Henderson was my instructor. And he was a great instructor all around, both in the bakery and in the kitchen. It's a decent program, for students reaching there career goals in their life, but could use a much more easier way to deliver the experience in the classroom, I'm in the automotive program and some things need to be specifically talked more about, instead of rushing through the class just based on time, because of the school hours. Honestly, no one likes to call 911, but having a good team come can make the difference in so many ways. From your health to your own state of mind. The crew the came to check on my daughter efficient and responsive, only arriving moments after our police. Fortunately our daughter was okay and was able to be taken to the hospital safely. Having someone calm in such a stressful moment makes it so much easier when you're on the brink of panicking. Thank you for coming and thank you for coming by again to check on our baby girl.
