Plus If you miss 1 point on your exam you lose the whole course and have to do it again because they don't give you another chance to take another test even for one point and expected to pay all again.so you waste your time,your money..and all over it the instructor says that if English is not your first language you are in the wrong place and makes comments all the time about people's accents. Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! Terrible experience lately. Have been taking sculpture but always have known a seething ill will exists. There is an undercurrent poisoning the atmosphere as if some sort of competition is going on rather than artistic creation. If it had not happened so often I would not complain but whatever I work on generally gets moved to the back of the line to be cast whenever. It doesn't feel good. I had put up with it because I live in a tiny trailer and really enjoyed having room to sculpt. It was just a pipe dream I had after I retired but now it isn't fun being the object of attitude manipulation and derision as if I have a case of dementia and am unable to discern the actions of this coterie. This is going to be my last class if I can cast what I did in wax last semester and I'll find some other medium rather than allowing the insult to my psyche to continue. Covid vaccine review. Very organized. It all went smoothly. Thank you to all the workers there! First, there are a few check-in/screenings. Then you meet with a military personal to give your insurance and personal info to. Then it’s shot time. After a couple min wait I was in the chair. Monitored for 15 mins and second dose appointment made. I arrived around 10:00am and was back in my car by 10:40am.Erica S

I recently received a class schedule (non-credit) brochure in the mail from Harper College and found a mosaic class taught by artisan and glass artists Urii Guchenia and Nathalie who has her very own studio in Willowbrook. The class was very inexpensive and well worth it! Kristin the librarian was very efficient in sending us a friendly email reminder along with the campus map to find the building where the class was. The class was held in “The Make Shop” within the library. All supplies were furnished and setup for us. Nathalie and Urii gave a us brief history of glass mosaics and were so helpful while we created our pieces. They had a vast array of glass tiles in every color imaginable! It was so much fun and gave us all a whole new appreciation of mosaic artisanry!Michelle Foy

Please do not go to this school, its terrible! I went here for 3 years and obtained an associates degree in Arts meant towards a bachelors degree back in 2014 but my experience was horrible. Me being black and African, they denied me an opportunity to use the Chemistry Lab to work on an idea that I wanted to prove yrt they were allowing other students to use it. Yet, the school used me to advertise in the Daily Herald News Paper as an immigrant that goes to their school doing athletics. My understanding is that they are chosen based on their ability to teach, rather than what research they are doing (which I'm told is the major criteria for hiring professors at 4 year universities). The only negative experience here, has been some minor harassing by the business office about tuition payment. This is somewhat understandable, but my frustration is due to having already spoken with the office about when I will pay, but I'm still receiving constant reminders to do so. That really is minor though and I would recommend this school to anyone. Very friendly and helpful teachers, cafeteria workers (food is decently priced to) and custodial staff. Haven't really interacted with anyone other than that.RoProArt

This college is the worst colleges in the history of Chicagoland and I thought that the teachers care more about students with special needs and disabilities as well but it seems like they don’t really care about disabilities students like us who struggle through catching up with some homework assignment on blackboard and has to be submitted by those instructor which they never graded it at all over the past two months or so I had a terrible experience of being part of this school which is too far compared to where I’m live at now every day I always take three buses and two train like the red line train to the blue line train and a extra bus to get there but always get there very late and the students from there are so sarcastic and not really friendly that much often. Had applied to this school for the MRI Program. Paid all the fees for application, transcripts, etc. Took the entrance exams and passed. Received my classes/schedule and sent them my fafsa. I had been registered for my classes already. I did an interview, the person that interviewed me was not professional, believe her name was Danielle Dertz. When trying to answer questions, i was cut off constantly and put down. Then right when everything was set and done for me to start the course, they give me a call that they do not want me as a student. My time was wasted, as well as money. They thought that I was not a good fit for the program because it is "too stressful". Previously, I was a full time student as well as a full time employee and received my degree from a different school with good grades, so I was stunned at this claim. They based this claim off of a previous job I had quit which had no relation to the MRI program itself. Instead of giving me a chance, when i expressed my interest and drive for the school i was shut down. Really disappointed in how i was treated as a student in the pandemic wanting to further my education Reply to response: The fact that you guys based your decision of my admittance on a job I worked over a year ago is disappointing. Both careers are very different from one another, so it’s sad that it is assumed that I wouldn’t be able to handle the program. My grades and achievements proved otherwise, but that was completely overlooked. I noticed with other reviews that many students had issues with the interview process as well. One would think after so many complaints something would be done about it but i guess not. As a student wanting to further their education, being discouraged because of a decision made, once again, over a year ago, was very disappointing. CNA is not the same as MRI. Many things change after over a year. The way I was put down by the Program Director was very upsetting and unprofessional. And I had also received a full schedule for the program. All of my classes were listed. You guys had waited to tell me that I was no longer accepted, hence my time being wasted. Instead of telling me right after the interview, you guys had waited. Midwestern Career College is a phenomenal institution! The staff, students and alumni are some of the most driven and intelligent people I have ever met. I originally met Mary Schmidt in 2018 and was fortunate to form a great business relationship after attending a career fair at the Chicago campus. While I originally attended this career fair strictly looking for Medical Assistants to hire, Mary educated me on the Externship Program that the institution offers. Mary was so kind to visit various UroPartners locations to further discuss this program with our Practice Managers. After many introductory visits, UroPartners started placing externs last year. We have now placed six MA externs and three of those individuals are full time employees who are still with the company today! In addition to that, our surgery center is now also participating in this program as they have started placing Surgical Technologists externs onsite. I’m currently a student enrolled in the EKG program and I’ve really appreciated the take on online education. We have an in person class once a week that really brings the class together and elaborates on key points. The facilities are really nice, the class I’m in is in their downtown building, and I have an outstanding opportunity to learn about my field. The class sizes are not big so there’s always opportunities to ask questions and clarify for my own sake. The teachers are very helpful and are more than willing to go the extra mile for their students which is amazing because you just won’t always get that at a bigger school. All in all I’ve really enjoyed my time at at Midwest career college and will be recommending this course of study for any of my friends or family looking to get an education in any of the many fields that MCC has to offer!!Michael Goubine

I had a good instructor, made sure everyone passed and understood the material. Class ran from 930 am to 2 pm. Test at the end is 50 questions. We did hands on CPR and bagging for adults and infants. We also did "mega code" situations as a group were there is an ecg simulator that gives a "live" feed of an ecg reading and vitals and as a group we are to chime in what we do next to save this patient based on ech reading and vitals. My only qualm is that they make you rent or buy a book, however, this is not necessary like at all. When you sign up for the class and make your login in with AHA, it gives you the ACLS algorithms alonf with precourse material to prepare for class. I printed these and brought them to class and that is all I needed. I didn't even use my book. So that was a waste of 15 bucks. 🤷🏽‍♀️Vivian Rodriguez

Garry did an amazing job. I've taken MANY CPR courses since I am in the medical field but this by far trumps them all. He was thorough, showed by example throughout the entire class proper chest compressions and even got into the details of why we do the things we do during CPR. I highly recommend this course for anyone, whether in the medical field or if you are just trying to prepare yourself for a medical emergency. My son did the Medicine & Healthcare 9 day program at American University and we both thought it was excellent! He really enjoyed the hands on aspects of the program as well as meeting students from all over. It confirmed his interest in medicine and got him even more excited about starting college. I appreciated the daily updates provided to parents, complete with pictures and information on what was covered that day. It was a good dry run for both of us for when he goes off to college, although they may have spoiled me a bit with the updates. I think the ideal time to do this is grade 11 because it would rev up the enthusiasm for preparing for college but it was still great for my son even though he had just graduated high school. My son's experience at NSLC this summer (2022) was better than we could have ever imagined! He attended a 9 day session in Law & Advocacy at Yale University. I found out about Chicago EMT Training through a friend who took the class and I can say that the class really exceeded my expectations. The class is taught by multiple instructors who have been in EMS for different periods of time and come from different backgrounds which helped aide my learning experience. Along with that, the class does a very good job in giving you hands on experiences in the field (hospital E.Rs, ambulance ride alongs, concert events) with the different connections that they have and I learned so much through it. I went into the ED for mental health assistance and ended up being admitted to a facility. I was transported to this facility by Elite ambulance. Little did I know I was going to end up with a $1000 bill. I work in EMS, I understand the business. There's no way anyone in EMS can afford a $1000 bill. If I would have known I was going to get stuck with $1000 for a non emergent BLS transport I would have never gone in for the help. Isn't that sad?Zach Higgins

Overbooking wheelchair transports and making a disabled elderly woman sit and wait for a ride for over 3 hours is NOT acceptable! No apology or anything! Then 2 days later they didn't even bother to show up to transport her to another appointment or call to say they weren't coming. ELITE is simply a clever name for this company. this morning about 20 minutes ago I was nearly flattened by one of their emergency vehicle drivers who was blatantly disobeying a lawn that said no left turns into the speedway at the corner of Aurora avenue and Ogden avenue headed west. Not only can they not obey traffic laws clearly the safety of everyone else is not one of their priorities however I guess it's good for business if you get run over by an ambulance. Then when I called their dispatch center to complain about my almost life-changing event they didn't even know what streets I was talking about. Give it time, at some point you'll find yourself face to face with a situation where you'll be glad to be accompanied by first responders, I know I was. I found myself in a scary situation but thanks to the calm and collected manner of one of the techs, Conroy, I felt much better about my situation. This ambulance service is horrible!!!! Even with my life depending on them I’d prefer to take an Uber. One of my family members needed medical care today due to having a seizure. First of all the EMT’s came in without the proper equipment. They came with the stretcher but nothing to cover my family up with and she had on a dress. During the transfer to the stretcher she had another seizure and if you have any medical knowledge you know to turn the patient on their side. The EMT did not do that and when asked/reminded to he stated she is will be fine and continued to try to apply the straps even thought she was gagging. When he husband tried to ride with he was told he couldn’t, but to too all of that off the EMT gave her a shot and told her to shut up and go to sleep. My family member should not have been treated this poorly especially not by someone that we entrust with our lives. My question to the EMT on this service call… how would you feel if you or one of your family members was treat this way? Buds you all need to do better with training. If you all don’t want or enjoy your job, you need to do something we’re other peoples lives are not dependent upon you.L Johnson

I had to seriously think about even giving this service a 1 star rating. My Family and I were involved in a motor vehicle accident where we were hit on one side by a semi and another side by a truck and travel trailer that pushed us into the guardrail on I-294 in Chicago. Airbags were deployed and we were traveling 55 mph prior to the accident. I had to ask for c-collars at the scene for my husband and my son. I am an ER trauma nurse and told the EMS crews that arrived on the scene what had happened and that my husband had a head injury, laceration to the top of his head and loss of consciousness. He was taken to a hospital that had no trauma rating where he sat in the waiting room for over 2 hours when I told the EMS crew that he was a trauma patient. My son and I were taken to the same hospital where 10 hours later my son received imaging that warranted a transfer to a level one trauma center. EMS judgement to take us to this hospital was against what I had advised and what they should have known better with the mechanism of the accident and caused a serious delay of care. I hope that the EMS crews can learn from this incident.susan salazar

Do not ride in their ambulance. The EMT not only told me that I was lying about my pain but she was beyond rude !! She even yelled at me at the emergency room so bad that the security guards made her leave. I talked to her supervisor mike and he did absolutely nothing he called me back a week later to tell me that he had a talk with her. I also contacted the BBB they never even responded to them either. His shows You their level of unprofessionalism. Fast forward one month later they send me a bill out of spite and I have insurance which they were given before they even put me in the ambulance. The school is a good choice but Make sure you are your own advocate. Counselor had me taking classes we found out I never needed, waisted a semester of time and money taking prerequisites I already qualified for. Also make sure CLCs or any Collage major is truly applicable in the real world the professors were great but unfortunately CRJ has zero use even in law enforcement. Reviewing the campus as a visitor. The campus is accessible from multiple main roads , and there are signs to get to the campus on all entrances. But the signs within the campus to different wings and entrances are not large enough and poorly lit. Even the entrance markings are not legible from the parking lot or roads making navigation of campus very stressful. The campus is organized well and interiors is beautiful and well maintained. This is the most unorganized, most unprofessional nursing program I’ve ever seen. There are too many hands in the pot. You'll have one professor tell you to do things one way, and then the other professors will say It's done in a completely different way. Moreover, I wish I knew ahead of time about this program–because I would've gone elsewhere. This place is chaotic, everything is all over the place. From the Labs to the lectures; how do they expect students to learn like this? This program is a total waste of time. Oh and let’s not forget the bullying many of the students encounter at the hands of their professors. Some of the professors talk to the students like pure trash–like they’re children; hence, (I wouldn't even talk to a child in the way some of these instructors talk to their students). Furthermore, you’re teaching yourself (like how can you teach yourself to be a nurse?). Also, you’re scared to ask questions without the professors making you feel stupid for asking the question. The Illinois Drivers Facility in Prairie State College is very well organized. Progress is very well facilitated. The facility is in a very spacious area where the safety protocols are easy to follow and ARE adhered to. Regardless of the purpose of your visit, the applicable state associate will move you along expeditiously resulting in your spending a minimal amount of time in the building.
