"Don't judge a book by its cover and critics until you have read it yourself!" That is my quote about this school. Honestly, I was very hesitant to go to the school because 1) it's privately owned and 2) the cost was more than the other schools. The reason I was super hesitant in the beginning was because I previously attended a privately owned school when I was going into Nursing and had a super bad experience there. Dropped out before they could get more money out of me and decided Nursing wasn't for me and went into the Dental field instead. When I became a dental assistant, I have met so many dental hygienists that graduated from UCDH. They all had great things to say about it. Finally, after much research, I decided to take a tour of the school. After that, I had a great feeling inside of me that this experience was going to be different from the last one. I was ready to apply, got interviewed, and got accepted. My whole school experience was super awesome at UCDH. I had great professors, wonderful clinical instructors, and the administration was amazing. Our professors and instructors were very knowledgeable and encouraging and they made sure that we were successful every semester. As a student, I was always a stress case with meeting requirements but for some reason it always worked out in the end because of my class and my instructors. Everyone was always willing to help out and we were always taught to be a team and that we were a family which is very important in a dental practice. Not gonna lie, it was a really rough 20 months but with the amazing support I got from the staff and from my class, I was able to be successful. My advice is to check the school out first before judging and go with your gut! That's what I did and now I'm an RDH thanks to UCDH! Wahoo!!!Roxanne Buckmiller
