This is a mixed bag. I have to give CSI a 5 star rating on their staff and faculty. Everyone I've encountered in my classes and different buildings has been super nice and helpful. Also the campus is gorgeous, and my family and I love walking here. That said, I give them a 0 star rating on community safety. They have no mask policy and students and staff are not required to wear masks. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and Idaho is one of the hardest hit states in the country. CSI is doing nothing about it. As a student, I feel unsafe in my classes where almost all students are unmasked and many of them are coughing and hacking. Honestly, I'm scared.Charles Baudelaire

Good stepping stone for starting college. Cheap tuition, small class sizes, and just about all my teachers were extremely knowledgeable and professional in their classrooms but knew when to be authentic as well. My only complaints are mainly what you'll get on every other college campus. A bad professor here and there, internet goes down a few times a semester, due to the size scheduling especially for non-traditional or full-time students can be difficult. However, overall the professors and administrative staff are polite and eager to help.Stephen Wells

My College of Southern Idaho experience was a wonderful one. As a non-traditional student, I enjoyed the many courses I took and the professors and teachers who made it possible. I majored in music and know that the music and drama departments offer an excellent program with much individual attention that is lacking in universities and larger schools. We were working on our project (Our Green Hope) today where we used 3000 reusable bags to make the largest mosaic. The worker at the campus were friendly and supportive. After finishing the project, all the 3K bags were given for FREE at Kroger to encourage people to start using reusable bags instead of plastic grocery bags. Solid school. Easy(ish) to navigate. Some of the buildings are far apart and depending on your classes you might have only 10 minutes to go all the way across campus. The staff is friendly and try to help anyone navigate the school, so don't worry! Each building is clearly labeled and maps are everywhere so it's hard to get lost. There's tons of socializing areas and seating for different gatherings. Some of the popular places would be the courtyard with the fountains or the large hill in the center of campus. The campus also has a variety of food options, so whether you want smoothies, coffee, pizza, pastries or a salad there are options all around!Zena Krimzon

They have no idea how to teach what you will need in the state of Kansas. They will use other professors lectures and do not want to answer questions or teach you. So yeah if you want to teach yourself from a book and have a bunch of assignments due constantly this is the place for you. You will find yourself googling topics and watching YouTube videos to learn it. Multiple (at least 3 that I know of) people in my class complained to the chair.C

I am taking a welding certificate so I can work in the welding workforce. I want to work for the olathe railroad welding force after college. Then maybe do some underwater welding I have not quite decided. If I do I have to take a scubadiving class to get certified in that. I took the CNA ‘Plus’ programme there back in October 2021. For $2395 we never got a clinical! And the facilities and equipment provided were unbelievable! One mannequin with its leg falling out and not even a proper night gown to keep it from being exposed! Sheets were dirty! Equipment faulty, and now we are STILL waiting to take our state licensure exams! If you’re taking the CNA programme, do not take the “plus part” it is a waste of money and time. State Street U is amazing. I attended 22 years ago and stopped by for the first time since then and I was amazed to find, updated buildings, a beautiful store, and a whole new feel. The professors and professionals were mostly great when I was there and though I don't attend, I had a chance to talk to administrators and they are still amazing. It is a fantastic education at a great price. If you are looking for a great community college, look no further than STCC. This summer I took my teenage son to the Lake Land College and just for the architecture alone it is worth the visit. We were disappointed that the main room was closed off due to repairs but that was certainly not the fault of the library. Each room we visited was a unique gem. My only criticism is that the volunteers in the front hallway were more interested in talking among themselves than in answering any of our questions. Indeed they almost seemed annoyed when I finally interrupted them after standing by the volunteer information table for several minutes without any one of them addressing us, despite no one else being there.Elnora Foston

Prepared me well to transfer to EIU. These are a few things that irked me – their int’l office director back then was amazing, but the current one messed up my sibling’s paperwork by giving inaccurate information. An excellent small community college, but not really good with internships necessarily though. If you’re looking for a great and affordable education, this is for you. I've been attending FCC since summer of 2016 and will graduate, god willing, this spring 2019. Full time, year round, no breaks. Although parking requires at least an hour grace period, I believe the over all experience is what you make it. I've come across rude people maybe having a bad day and I've had instructors I could not relate to. Its all very frustrating. Its sad to say the success rate at this college is 17%. But, then again this is an adult school. Nobodies going to call your house when your absent or hold a parent-teacher conference when your not doing your work. I am working on a Human Service degree and have enjoyed the ups and downs of my classes. The load was a little heavier in a few and I had to buckle down and utilize the tutorial, ETC, PASS, Computer lab and all other resources available. In all the those places I found the staff and student help extremely eager to be of service. The assistance was much appreciated. I am not speaking for this business itself, merely the college district's education quality. I have taken classes at Fresno, Clovis, and Reedley Community College, and I have had an absolutely deplorable time. I don't feel like I'm getting anything from the classes; I don't feel the staff is prepared to teach online, if at all. If you are going to teach college-level English, you should not make punctuation and grammatical errors consistently. If you are teaching a law class, you should not do it from inherent bias and perspective. If you are conducting an online course, you should not have to hold up a piece of paper because you don't know how to make a slide. An absolute and utter waste of my time and money, I am so glad I got the nerve to go back to school; now I will find somewhere to teach me, educate me, and get me further in life.Mercedes Scott

It is said that Fresno City College is the first Community College in California. Registration to classes is simple and online, and they offer all kind of classes. Today, I feel compelled to write about the wonderful place where I work, Cape Fear Community College. This is my third year here and quite honestly, it is by far, my favorite place of employment. The grounds at CFCC are beautiful, the students are fantastic, and the culture is what makes it truly special. I don’t even know where to begin with this place. First of all if you are considering going here you need to run in the opposite direction. I moved here from out of state and gave this institution 10,000 of my dollars just to be disrespected and ridiculed by the faculty and staff. My high school teachers were more competent and respectful than anyone here. The school is run down and smells like mildew other than the main building they use to advertise this place. I did not learn one single thing the entire time I was here and let it be known that I am now graduating to be a medical professional so I was not the problem. Be careful if using MYCAA to pay for classes, regardless of whether or not you submit on your end on time. If the school doesn't submit it on time on their end (as in my case) you'll receive a dozen and a half reminders that tuition is due (the school doesn't handle MYCAA and the funds get sent to the student to then pass on to the school and if it's not paid by "x" date at "x" time classes are dropped. Had I of known this, I would have applied for schooling elsewhere. Waste of time. Not everyone wants or needs to use FAFSA………Courtney Myszewski

Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I absolutely have no regrets about this school, and I enjoyed my time there.Kevin Frazier

I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. Stark State also always keeps their students in the know through text message and emails. They give you the tools you need in order to succeed. Highly recommend this college!elisabeth brian

(For reference, I am a first-generation college student, have a learning disability, and a physical disability.) TMCC sets students up for success. I have had a very positive experience both as a student and working for the school. I will be finishing a dual-degree sooner than expected. Most of the professors are great, and everyone in the humanities department is amazing. Most of the staff is very professional and able to well-inform students of what classes to take and what services may benefit them. On top of this, the school also offers free tutoring and mental health services. As a first-generation college student, I feel TMCC has helped me at every step of the way to succeed. With only 8 classes left to take, I still have a cumulative GPA of 4.0 despite doing relatively poorly in high school. As long as you put in your best effort, teachers will do everything possible to help you succeed. If you do not put any effort in and expect a handout, then it will be extremely difficult to succeed. This is a tremendous school with a caring and compassionate staff and faculty. This school has afforded me so many opportunities that I wouldn't have otherwise received without them. When I got to Reno, I was homeless. I arrived with two suitcases and less than $100 in the bank. I was staying with a friend and making very little money. I found myself in a situation where I worked hard labor job after hard labor job, trapped in a vicious cycle of injury and poverty and no clear view of how to exit my situation. In the month of December 2014, I walked into the offices at TMCC. In less than a year, I have found employment, I'm less than a year from finishing my degree and I am a Dean's list student. I had it in my head that I wanted to succeed and I was fortunate that this school wanted to help me to do exactly that. The teachers were compassionate and patient. The staff was courteous and helpful. I owe a great deal to this school because it has taught me more than academics. It taught me to be a better person.Brandon Canty

Don't listen to the bad reviews, everybody has a different experience and different perceptions. Ive taken at least 20+ classes over 12 years, I love tmcc. It's a good community college in every way. I attended here on and off from 1999-2012. I learned how to teach step aerobics from the greatest fitness instructor imo Verna Lewis. I took many general ed classes as well as a few paralegal courses and a ton of fitness classes as well. The campus is beautiful, many bathrooms with free sanitary napkins if needed, the vending machines are reasonably priced. The classes are very fair priced. It's a wonderful school and a WAY better option then a vocational school. eg: Realtor school online vocational school $600+, Tmcc Realtor program $50-100.Rachela Reno Rocks

The administration does not care about you. They do not care if you are a student or an employee, they do not care about you. They do not care about your kids, they do not care about the job you have to work on the weekend to make ends meet. The top administration will continue to rake in money for themselves and make sure they’re providing both employees and students with as little as they possibly can. All you are is either potential money or potential labor. You are a commodity to be used to the benefit of people you don’t even know. The entire art department is a joke. Calhoun has crippled its own photography program by getting rid of the best studio photography teacher it has probably ever had just because he didn't have a degree yet he's been a professional working photographer for about 30 years. Calhoun has a bad history of hiring people to teach that don't do their job. The dean and the underlings don't care if you have a problem if it affects their staff. Calhoun is famous for minimizing the parking spaces despite the rising number of students attending each year. The financial aid department is worthless too. I'm transferring to Wallace State instead of going back to Calhoun to earn my degree.BringPopcorn

What I love about Calhoun is that they want to make sure you know how to do. Hands down Calhoun is one of the be places to study IT in the state. The classes are small enough that you are able to get hands on training and your taught by instructors who work in the field. Not someone who is good at taking test and decided to teach. The only complaint I have is that Calhoun should try to improve the student experience more. It's hard to accomplish considering most students are only there 1-2 years but there should be more university sponsored events live movie nights, dances, etc.Christoper J

Writing a review for UNMC is an emotional task for me because they have been there for my mom and family through life, sickness, recovery, health, and even death. In all they've been there for they did right, without judgement or bias, and with care, hope, and support. I live in Kansas, but I know this hospital and all the towers better than some streets near my home. I've interacted with many specialty doctors, nurses, techs, housekeeping staff, ER, security team members, and so many others. We've experienced teams in Kidney Transplant, Wound Care, Cardiovascular, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Derm, Cancer Center, and the Comfort Care Team. I can tell you that these teams are here because they love what they do. If you're considering UNMC as a new place to care for your needs I would do so without hesitation. When my mom moved they were so helpful in her transition to Kansas. Without them we'd be lost. We will miss each of her teams, their knowledge, and their care. It was so hard to leave.Tam E

Very disappointed in care provided. Nursing seems sorely under staffed. Although they frequently have cell phone in hand. Communication between staff (doctors and nursing staff)is lacking. Communication of providers and patients is insufficient. Facility is dirty dusty and run down. And should we talk about HIPPA….nothing to talk about….it doesn't exist there. Hep locks do not get flushed even after several days….negligent much? Showers/bed baths not offered to patient even after 3 days in-house. Are they trying for some nosocomial infections?S B

Today I went to Nebraska medical center and the eye clinic. The people that are very friendly and nice it's clean has three levels. The doctor I seen seem very knowledgeable and was very concerned with my eye condition it was funny when we first pulled up and parked in the first row there was a broom next to the handicap sign made me laugh remind me of handicap which parking. Someone probably had clean snow off their car with the broom and left it there.Karen Beautiful

The worse hospital on Baltimore I don’t recommend for anyone to have a nicu baby . These people put me throw the worst experience of my life . If you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or Cal University.Cody

I have been trying to see a counselor, and so far I have come to the counseling department more than five times. Anytime I went there, they said that there are a lot of students so go come back tomorrow at 8:00 am. When I went there at 8:00 am the next day, they said oh we don't do walk ins, you can go today, but for tomorrow give us a call to confirm if there is any counselor available. I did call them the day before coming they said yes come around 8:00 am you will for sure see a counselor, I got there at 8:00 am, but unfortunately again they said that there are a lot of students and they only have one counselor. I don't know what game do they play with students, I missed going to work for 3 days, and it seems that I might not be able to take any classes this summer just because of not being able to see a counselor. I request the authorities of this nice college to pay attention to this problem, and find some possible ways of solution since the students need to have updated Educationan Plans.Tawfiq Sediqi

This college is a freaking mess and very unorganized!!!! Fist visit, they told me counseling was open until 4:30pm. Got there at 3:34pm and said they stop at 3pm. They told me to come back tomorrow and they will do counseling till 4pm. I got early from work the nex day, and when I get to the counseling office, they said they are not doing counseling today! They tell me to come back tomorrow. They couldn't take appointments because they were too busy that week. I come back the next day, my job let me get off early again, when I get to the counseling they tell me their system is down! They tell me to come back on Saturday for the event. They tell me counseling and student services will be open. I'm here at the counseling at 10am, they freaking tell me no counselors today, they are only taking picture for IDS !!!! This is the worse experience I had. Very unprofessional, not organized!!!! I'm very upset!!!!!Miriam Gal

I visited the campus while staying in the area for the total solar eclipse in 2017. The campus was clean and safe. Internet searching showed that this was the only place in the US with white squirrels. I walked around the campus for 2 hours but only saw regular squirrels. Many students were not aware that this campus was known to have white squirrels and those who were aware said they never saw one. Just as I was about to give up, I spotted one by Potter Hall! If I had another option I would never go to this university. They preach all of these wonderful things but when it comes down to action, they show none of it. Their system that is supposed to help students get their classes organized and keep them on the right track works, but only if you need absolutely no help. I was a second away from getting a lawyer before I actually recieved any kind of direction or assistance. Come to find that there are other people I know that have similar stories of having been given no help and shrugged off or just tossed an answer that is not helpful at all. Had my father not gone to the Dean my degree would have been stunted. It would have taken another 1-2 years to complete with the advice given to me by a secretary that refused to tell me anyone I could go to for assistance. She rather throw my EXCUSED medical absence (which I have only ever had one, and it was to have my daughter) in my face as a reason to show my incompetence and that my lack of help was MY fault. Had it not been for my parents support I probably would have dropped out due to the neglect and disrespect that I have been give from the people at this university. Not to mention they put someone in charge of a girls sports team who had been previously charged at their university with sexual assault. I have so many more examples from others around me that have had similar issues and have been ignored or bounced around from person to person when asking for academic advice or help.Tessa M

Love YSU. While this college has a lot to offer and is exceptionally friendly to ppl with disabilities I wish the department I am studying at was bigger. We only have 3 professors and unfortunately one of them is so ineffective I had to repeat every one of his classes. I learned more from my tutors in his classes than from the professor himself. Head professor is cool and extremely helpful. Also the equipment we use other than the computers are horribly out of date, built and used since the 60s and 70s. Unfortunately due to life circumstances I have to move out of state. Hopefully the next school will be just as rich as YSU and has a bigger department with up to date technology.Imperfect Xennial

YSU is such a quiet and peaceful place to go to school at. Sometimes I liked to just sit on the grass under a tree and listen to the birds and the wind as life just passed me by. The buildings are a complex maze of twists and turns that will leave your head feeling like you just entered the twilight zone, and while some students are rather rude the majority of them are extremely kind hearted. I personally feel that the school could use with a better organization system, slightly more thought out staff and faculty, but other than that it is a very amazing place to learn.Reynard Louernia

Veteran Review: I attended COTC and graduated with an Associates in Nursing. I can say that it was very cumbersome to attend COTC as a veteran. I utilized my Tuition assistance and needed to "push them along" the entire way. Every semester I had to contact veterans affairs and tell them what I needed them to do to approve TA. My understanding is that they needed prompted in every way and every time I needed something completed to allow me access to my tuition assistance. This includes having to pay for a semester out of pocket do to their delay in assistance and lack of ability to complete my necessary needs on their own. From my understanding, they should understand this. I am currently attempting to apply for my bachelors 2 semesters later and I am unable to receive tuition assistance, because COTC has not submitted my graduated status to TA and I am unable to attend classes as a consequence to said incident. All said and done: If you are a veteran, be prepared to coax COTC along to get what you need.SSG Ben Moran RN

Sorry, my thoughts are not on telling my online professors about my relative bleeding in the brain. My time was spent in the hospital, hospice, and at work. I missed a few assignments but notified my professors at my earliest convenience. The work was completed. Professor Sample for PSY-210-NA failed me on multiple assignments, accused me of plagiarizing from a blog, and is the reason I will not be graduating this semester from COTC. The plagiarizing accusation is because I had "similar sentences of a blog post." What a joke. Never take a class as Professor Sample as your professor. Do yourself a favor and just go to a different school. I will NOT be going back there. President Coe and other faculty members at COTC I contacted did not help in any matter. Of course, they took the side of Professor Sample.Adam A

I… HATE… COTC! Its the nightmare that will never end. My husband leaves for the military in one week… His recruiter needs his college transcript, so that he can get a higher ranking, more pay and one of the jobs he wants. All he needs is the transcript. We went in on the 22nd and paid extra to have the transcript sent. They told us they would send it out that day or the next. Well today we saw his recruiter and he STILL hasn't received the transcript. We went into COTC and had to talk to them AGAIN about this. Oh did I forget to mention that when my husband first started seeing his recruiter, he paid extra to have his transcript and then they handed it to my husband, therefore making it unacceptable to the Air Force. This is not even close to the first problem either of us has had with them. Oh, maybe you all should check out there 'graduation rate.' Less than 20 percent of people even graduate! Extremely racist school. I attended here for 3 years (2009-2012). It was a legacy of my family to attend and graduate from here and I regret it. Not only did I not graduate, I felt unwelcomed as a Native student. I even participated in Native student organizations and spent a lot of time at the cultural center because that was the only place I felt comfortable and accepted. South Dakota is just a racist state all around. I regret listening to my parents. I should have went to the school I was also accepted and had really wanted to go to. These white ppl can keep their precious athletics department! Even the frat parties were racist and sucked! The varying architecture of all the buildings on campus was nice though. Went for one year and never went back. The general required classes are similar at other places, but other places actually care about you. I went to another college before this one, and USD refused to allow me to transfer the credits because they were from out of state. The admissions were nice, but whoever decides what credits transfer couldn't care less about you if you come from out of state. Their biology department needs major help, because they had to change teachers often and even hired one who couldn't speak English. This is the worst school I ever attended and would not recommend.Meulin Cat

wonderful experience.I love the peaceful life here. It also provides a cosy and friendly environment. Small enough for me to make friends easily with other students on campus. Personally, the quality of education is very good in term of class size, technology application, and professor helpfulness. I am proud of being a student here. This is my second year at Chattanooga State and I love it. The professors absolutely care about your success and offer plenty of office hours to come by. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to complicated topics like financial aid. Other students seem just as committed to the work as everyone else. The campus is clean and very pleasant to be in. The only downside is the parking. It is worth removing a star. It is a nightmare at the beginning of the semester. Unless you wake up early and arrive around eight or nine in the morning, you will struggle to find a parking spot, which is kind of awful when you don't have class for three more hours. Otherwise, I cannot imagine a better community college here. There are lots of events every month that students can participate in. The cafeteria food is pretty decent and offers a large selection. The library allows food and drink so that you can ear while you work or study. Little things like this make Chatt State super nice. Also, since someone mentioned the online classes, they will keep you very busy. The instructors expect more work than an actual lecture class, but it is manageable as long as you keep track of your time and when certain things are due.Onyx R

I was a student here and I recently transferred to a school closer to my home. My experience at this school horrible(thank to Ms. D. Jackson). I had a issue with another student and I brought it to her attention in hopes she would help solve the issue, but she did the complete opposite. Since she knew the girl's mom, Ms. Jackson decided to team up with her and "TRY" to get me kicked out of the school. I am just glad that the higher ups seen through it all and nothing came of their wrong doings. I had to hire a attorney, just in case things got worse since Ms. Jackson didn't wont to see the proof I had regarding the other girl.Kierra Mangham

Just spent a fun couple weeks jumping through admission hoops here. Beginning to end the process was a pain, with uninformed staff, unnecessary phone tag, and an online portal that couldn't be more labyrinthine if it were coded by Daedalus… The kicker? The class I jumped all those hoops for was not even on offer. Now, call me old fashioned, but when someone asks me for a thing I don't have, I tend to lead with the fact that I don't have it. Why the good folks of Chatt. State felt it necessary for me to complete admissions before telling me it's all for nothing is beyond me.M C

The teachers are great and the campus is nice but trying to get financial aid during COVID is impossible. The financial aid advisors are rude and don’t seem like they want to help you at all. Just because of this reason I will not be recommending MHCC to any of my friends and would suggest to go to Clackamas Community College where they are much, MUCH more helpful.Dima Poperechnyy

You have to take the bad with the good. There are some great people who work for this school, then there are people who could care less bout you and your education. They make you jump through hoops and pass you around with little to no help. This has been my experience so far, passes around to at least 3 advisers in one month with little to no contact.Tia Intoku

I've been coming to the "Mount Hood School of Cosmetology" since 2012, because I've a good head of hair to volunteer to these students for practicing and honing their skills!
