20 Best Dental Hygiene Programs In Akron, OH (2022 Updated)

Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I absolutely have no regrets about this school, and I enjoyed my time there.Kevin Frazier

I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. Stark State also always keeps their students in the know through text message and emails. They give you the tools you need in order to succeed. Highly recommend this college!elisabeth brian

If I had another option I would never go to this university. They preach all of these wonderful things but when it comes down to action, they show none of it. Their system that is supposed to help students get their classes organized and keep them on the right track works, but only if you need absolutely no help. I was a second away from getting a lawyer before I actually recieved any kind of direction or assistance. Come to find that there are other people I know that have similar stories of having been given no help and shrugged off or just tossed an answer that is not helpful at all. Had my father not gone to the Dean my degree would have been stunted. It would have taken another 1-2 years to complete with the advice given to me by a secretary that refused to tell me anyone I could go to for assistance. She rather throw my EXCUSED medical absence (which I have only ever had one, and it was to have my daughter) in my face as a reason to show my incompetence and that my lack of help was MY fault. Had it not been for my parents support I probably would have dropped out due to the neglect and disrespect that I have been give from the people at this university. Not to mention they put someone in charge of a girls sports team who had been previously charged at their university with sexual assault. I have so many more examples from others around me that have had similar issues and have been ignored or bounced around from person to person when asking for academic advice or help.Tessa M

Love YSU. While this college has a lot to offer and is exceptionally friendly to ppl with disabilities I wish the department I am studying at was bigger. We only have 3 professors and unfortunately one of them is so ineffective I had to repeat every one of his classes. I learned more from my tutors in his classes than from the professor himself. Head professor is cool and extremely helpful. Also the equipment we use other than the computers are horribly out of date, built and used since the 60s and 70s. Unfortunately due to life circumstances I have to move out of state. Hopefully the next school will be just as rich as YSU and has a bigger department with up to date technology.Imperfect Xennial

YSU is such a quiet and peaceful place to go to school at. Sometimes I liked to just sit on the grass under a tree and listen to the birds and the wind as life just passed me by. The buildings are a complex maze of twists and turns that will leave your head feeling like you just entered the twilight zone, and while some students are rather rude the majority of them are extremely kind hearted. I personally feel that the school could use with a better organization system, slightly more thought out staff and faculty, but other than that it is a very amazing place to learn.Reynard Louernia

Veteran Review: I attended COTC and graduated with an Associates in Nursing. I can say that it was very cumbersome to attend COTC as a veteran. I utilized my Tuition assistance and needed to "push them along" the entire way. Every semester I had to contact veterans affairs and tell them what I needed them to do to approve TA. My understanding is that they needed prompted in every way and every time I needed something completed to allow me access to my tuition assistance. This includes having to pay for a semester out of pocket do to their delay in assistance and lack of ability to complete my necessary needs on their own. From my understanding, they should understand this. I am currently attempting to apply for my bachelors 2 semesters later and I am unable to receive tuition assistance, because COTC has not submitted my graduated status to TA and I am unable to attend classes as a consequence to said incident. All said and done: If you are a veteran, be prepared to coax COTC along to get what you need.SSG Ben Moran RN

I had a very close immediate relative die during summer semester. When my immediate relative had a stroke, I did not notify my professors on the matter. Sorry, my thoughts are not on telling my online professors about my relative bleeding in the brain. My time was spent in the hospital, hospice, and at work. I missed a few assignments but notified my professors at my earliest convenience. The work was completed. Professor Sample for PSY-210-NA failed me on multiple assignments, accused me of plagiarizing from a blog, and is the reason I will not be graduating this semester from COTC. The plagiarizing accusation is because I had "similar sentences of a blog post." What a joke. Never take a class as Professor Sample as your professor. Do yourself a favor and just go to a different school. I will NOT be going back there. President Coe and other faculty members at COTC I contacted did not help in any matter. Of course, they took the side of Professor Sample.Adam A

I… HATE… COTC! Its the nightmare that will never end. My husband leaves for the military in one week… His recruiter needs his college transcript, so that he can get a higher ranking, more pay and one of the jobs he wants. All he needs is the transcript. We went in on the 22nd and paid extra to have the transcript sent. They told us they would send it out that day or the next. Well today we saw his recruiter and he STILL hasn't received the transcript. We went into COTC and had to talk to them AGAIN about this. Oh did I forget to mention that when my husband first started seeing his recruiter, he paid extra to have his transcript and then they handed it to my husband, therefore making it unacceptable to the Air Force. This is not even close to the first problem either of us has had with them. Oh, maybe you all should check out there 'graduation rate.' Less than 20 percent of people even graduate! This college as a whole has been amazing. My instructors and the rest of the staff and faculty really care about your education. If I ever have any problems and I go to someone they either know the answer I am looking for or they will find someone who does. If I have any suggestions on how to make things better or easier for students they are always ready and willing to listen what I have to say and make improvements that will better students experiences. Amazing school. I graduated and walked already after my two years. Every teacher was supportive and there for me. You can just walk in to talk to an advisor (unless during semester start/end). Then it's by appointment. That is so much better than other schools. Osu only has very picky walk in times. MTC teachers put books in the library or I borrowed their copies so I spent nothing. They are friendly and the school is very pretty. Only a couple teachers were annoying, but every place has 1 or 2. I loved my time there.Molly m (YYH)

Do NOT go through this nursing program. Just take the few extra prerequisites that the other programs require and go somewhere else. This is the most unorganized program I've ever seen. They will reschedule clinicals and classes with absolutely no notice. They also give you lists of books to buy and change the required books the beginning of class. All they say when they mess up and change things around is "what do you want me to do, it's nursing school, you have to be flexible" it's nothing but frustration.Aletha Perry

I put $114 down for Housing a couple months ago but decided I wasn't gonna be going to this college so I asked if I could get a refund and at the beginning of March they said it would be refunded to me by the 16th of March and it was never refunded I have contacted Housing and they have told me to contact Cashiers Office about it and when I call the Cashiers Office they say I need to talk to Housing I'm getting annoyed with these games they are playing then I called them about a week ago and they said they would have to write their boss to handle it and they would call back within 24 hours they NEVER called back and I still haven't received my refund I'm glad I decided not to go here I'll be attending a nice university I got accepted into instead the price is outrageous anyways for being the college this is and also has a lot of bad reviews I've never left a bad review before but this really irritated me that money could have helped me outMackenzie

I have had a very positive experience with Hocking College my first year. I love the program I am in and am having lots of fun learning the material and connecting with students and my professors. I will say the environment is rough around the edges and difficult at times to stay focused and stay positive, which is why I am living off campus so i can come home to much more uplifting environment. Like with every profession and career you find good and bad employees. With that said I have experienced questionable behavior that was not above approach from faculty at times, but my overall experience with the housing, registration, and financial department has been positive and I have felt supported. I love Hocking College! It is my first year here. I have attended a 4 year school prior to this one. I must say, the classrooms here are much smaller. The instructors are nicer, and the workload is much easier. I feel at home here and I'm looking forward to obtaining my degree. The learning has a "hands on" feel. The buildings are close together so you never have far to go. The campus is beautiful and the buildings are kept clean. Even the bathrooms are nice! I reccomend Hocking College to anyone who feels overwhelmed attending a 4 year school. Also, Hocking has a great transfer module program, where you can transfer to a 4 year college after obtaining your associates degree. I'm glad to be here.Valerie Dixon

I am an alumni. B.S. Chemical Engineering 2008, M.S. Biomedical Engineering 2012. I chose CSU as my undergrad school over Case Western because Case is ridiculously expensive and I received a full scholarship to CSU. My mother told me I could choose whatever school I wanted but if I passed the scholarship up for 40k+ a year in debt she would kill me. Thanks mom, you were right as always! The Chemical and Biomedical Engineering departments are outstanding. Great faculty, small class sizes, professors that legitimately care about the students but also won't put up with BS from students that aren't taking their own (or their classmates') education seriously. The head of the BME department at the time had a major impact on my life. He personally took interest in helping me get a full scholarship during the second year of my M.S. (Choose Ohio First scholarship), helped me land a Teaching Assistant position AND a fantastic internship. THANK YOU! CSU is not perfect though. I had some bad professors (and also excellent ones) in the math and physics departments. That is hard to avoid at any school. Many of the school departments are much, much bigger than mine so you may lose some of the personal interest from professors when your graduating undergrad class is more than 12 like mine. I tried to make use of the career center multiple times but they were not helpful in job searching. Also the Fenn College of Engineering (now the Washkewicz College of Engineering) building is woefully old and dated. It's so bad that in my second year in 2006 a metal fence had to be put about 10 – 15 feet in front of the building facade so no one would be injured by the crumbling concrete. I wish I was joking. The engineering labs were also filled with old equipment, the classrooms were missing technology that is standard in other schools like projectors. Note that this was all before the very generous donation from Mr. Washkewicz so I hope things have improved. The only other complaint I have is that my graduation requirements changed a couple times during my B.S. and I had a VERY difficult time finding out if I was on track for graduation. In fact I wasn't sure that I was going to graduate until I got confirmation about a month before graduation! Even with these complaints I had a great experience at CSU, which is why I went back for my M.S. after briefly considering Ohio State University. It was my professors and department that made the decision easy, they had a great positive effect on my life and I owe a lot to them.Jim

I'm a business student currently in my third year at CSU (transferred from Kent State) and have nothing but good things to say about this school. The campus is beautiful and right in the center of Downtown, giving you easy access to tons of interesting things to do in Cleveland. The general vibe of the campus is very laid back and friendly, and despite what other reviews seem to say, this is a very liberal/progressive and diverse school with many students of all walks of life. I feel I have received a perfectly adequate education at CSU, as someone who cares mainly about getting ready for a career and moving into the business world. There are good professors and bad ones, but the majority of them have been very likeable and knowledgeable. Many of my business professors have lots of real world experience and many years working in their field. I cannot comment on the other departments, but the business school is excellent and has many career services available to students. As a commuter student I love the RTA pass they provide, so I don't have to worry about driving and parking downtown (yes, their parking situation is pretty terrible here). Finally I'd like to say shame on the idiots who are giving my school 1-star reviews because of a faux pas made by the administration. The first amendment comment was misinformed, but it's far from supporting the offensive poster. Anyone trying to paint CSU as anti-LGBTQ because of that poster debacle is ignorant.Steven Barnes

I love Cleveland State. I am a biology pre-med major and the department is great. However, if you live in the dorms, don't plan on getting your mail anytime soon. It takes at least 10 days added on to the normal mail time to receive any type of letter or package. I ended up just getting a P.O. box at a local post office. The education and clubs are great. There are so many great opportunities here to take advantage of. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to live in the city and get a great education.Madison Chapanar

I love Columbus State and this is why: Before Columbus State: Growing up, I was never interested in the information taught in school, because I did not feel like it was applicable to the real world. After a year at a private college, I was originally apprehensive to restart college at any college. I was also scared of a community college. I grew up in Michigan, and I felt like our local community colleges had negative stigmas attached to them. Luckily, my older brother took me into the application office in Delaware, OH to take the entrance exam. I believe I tested out of an english and/or a math class. While at Columbus State: I would like to note that I always attended C-State as I held a part time job (10-20 hours a week). I originally attended an EMT-B class at Columbus State. The class was more challenging than I had anticipated and was pretty time consuming. I received a B in this course, but found employment immediately in the field and felt confident in my skills. A year later, I returned to C-State with the desires to go to nursing school. Thanks to ample meetings with advisors in Health and Human Services, I decided to take some prerequisite nursing classes as there was a waiting list to apply for their nursing program (while I worked part time as an EMT-B). During this year, I found more confidence in my work and studies, feelings of support and encouragement from staff, and rewards from hard work. I was also able to sign up easily for academic accommodations for the first time in my life! I loved my time at Columbus State within this year! I never thought I would love school or receive my first 4.0 GPA in the spring and summer semesters. For the first time, school finally felt fulfilling for me. After Attending Columbus State: I decided to leave C-State after a full academic year, and I pursued a BSN degree through another local school. I often look back at my time at C-State and regret that I did not take more classes here while saving a decent amount of money! I would suggest night classes if you are willing and able. I found that students were more likely to be hard working, more mature, disciplined, and also employed. I also found professors who taught night classes were often from OSU and more understanding. Generally my teachers were all very competent, funny, and held experience in the world. The only negative experience that I found was dealing with C-Stat's Police department staff and accessing their gym/locker room. Students must sign up manually for the gym locker rooms every semester at C-State's Police department and then wait for several days for your card to be accepted from security/police. This system seems dated and non-productive. I feel like this process should be easily automated. This issue led to a negative experience I had with a police officer that identified as Sergeant Diamond. I felt like this officer escalated my personal situation while being disrespectful and patronizing. Another time I was eating a meal in my car between classes when a police car pulled up to me and asked why I was parked between two spots in an empty parking lot and then asked me to pick a spot. I'm sure the police department deals with things they don't want to. I could have been lucky and experienced two poor attitudes on hard days, but I do not feel like the police department is fulfilling their mission that states they want to provide "exceptional customer service" for their students based on my only two experiences with them. I would take a look at how the police staff is trained at C-State.Connor Hill

I have enjoyed Columbus State and majority of the people I’ve met here while on track to my BA but this college needs some serious restructuring. The biggest thing I wish Cstate would look into is their faculty. When I go to ratemyprofessor.com and see many of them at a 1 to 2 star rating, that concerns me. I have personally had good and bad professors here and majority of the good ones were adjunct professors, the bad ended up being tenured faculty. I wish the college would look into the gripes students have and start to question whether or not they should be hiring adjunct professors to replace them. The only other major issue I’ve had is from advisors. The point of the advisor is to advise the student on their education path, but when I have a genuine question or concern, interrupting/having a snarky attitude doesn’t come off as professional to me. One last thing, please talk with the finance department about putting a budget together for another parking garage. I don’t go during peak hours anymore but when I did parking was atrocious. It will be 6 weeks this semester (Spring 2019) before CSCC releases financial aid refunds. I cannot believe they get away with this! OSU is 9 days after the start of the semester! Some people rely on these excess funds to survive another semester of school! This should be illegal and I’m pretty sure it is because according to federal financial aid funds are to be released up to a max of 14 days after the start of a semester! Insane to make people wait 6 weeks+ to receive their refund. Also, parking is obnoxious here any time of day. It also seems to me that each department does not have a good linear structure of teaching so each professor is just kind of doing their own thing whichever way they feel like doing it. Some classes are too long some are too short. It really feels like no one is in control here it’s just a free for all I guess. Employees are not friendly in any way shape or form. Honestly, should have listened to everyone discrediting this school. Cheaper ain't better. This school has stressed me out and I've only been attending for one semester. They keep changing my aid amount, will not reimburse my refund and all together have made my college experience a nightmare in hell especially with me working full-time. It always something new going on with my financial information for the following semester and new requirements that were completed prior to me attending resurfacing. Who has the time to keep re-ensuring that they're getting the money they already previously accepted? It doesn't matter how early you send your FAFSA in, they will find a way to have it reprocessed so late that you won't recieve the amount you already accepted. Very poor experience, people don't care about the disabled students, they had charged me over $1k for not helping me get into my classes and they've abandoned me in 2010. One star for absolute failure. Edit: 9/14/2022 this so-called trio program from Owens community college isn't helpful not resourceful of how am I supposed to go to college, they sign me up late not knowing I'm missing out on my assignments and these advisors in the school are lazy and rude like they don't care for the disabled students such as myself. Attended Owens and completed an Associates degree in 2001. Returned to a local area 4 year college to complete a Bachelor of Science. Due to the high cost and mediocre experience. I chose to take as many transfer classes as possible at Owens. A full time semester was a fraction of a 4 year college semester. Pretty rigorous course material and most importantly, courses are well structured, you could actually work ahead following the syllabus. Students and staff are pleasant. Have my 4 year degree, and returning to Owens for certificate programs to fill in the gaps from said 4 year college curriculum.Brent A.

This college has frequent issues with their website when turning in or doing assignments. Return books to bookstore that you rent, and they "misplace" some, and charge YOU for it. No one fixes it…. Hard to get in touch with everyone. No way to work on a time frame with this college with issues with websites, and no way to get in contact with ANYONE you need to regarding logging in, assignments, registering, financial aid etc. etc. Last time i signed up everything took so long classes had already started for a whole week while i was still trying to get set up for each class. The FIRST day i was on the class page to try to catch up the teacher gave me a 0 on my first several assignments… EVEN THOUGH… I stayed up late the day I registered and got my books and tried to work toward catching up… I want to go back to college, but I don't think this is the one to be in…Amanda Arnett

The bookstore is horrible. The employees, not the student employees, were terribly rude. They did not give me all the textbooks I ordered online and it took 3 people and yelling for them to finally understand that they did not give me the access code. I even brought back the receipt and my actual order confirmation. They lied and argued with me about my order being fulfilled and held for me. Removed with no explanation other than receiving more loan money than they were supposed to give, an error on the University's part, not to mention if your opinion differs of that from other students and they become hostile the HR will do nothing for you as a student, class times are not flexible and they have put a hold on my transfer credits without explanation. In other words the communication from this university is terrible and would highly suggest against going if you have other options because anywhere that will not drop you in a moment's notice is better than this university.Ben Y

First off, the campus itself is in poor condition. The sidwalks are cracked, and the stairs are worn and a tripping hazard. If you are physically disabled, be warned, there is hardly no disabled access aroud campus. The elevators are used by those who are athletic and can walk perfectly fine, but crowd out those in wheelchairs…. Didn't have a safe campus I got followed home by men so did other girls. I wanted to leave after the first semester because my grandmother was dying and they said it wasn't a good enough reason for me to leave and not finish the year and made me pay for a semester I didn't take. I have been a student at Herzing since September of 2018 and I have watched that school go down hill. They can not keep consistent nursing instructors and have to make changes to student schedules 2 days before classes start. When they know most of their student population are parents with the majority of us being single parents that work and go to school. But they have made it abundantly clear that they do no support students unless they have money to pay out of pocket. I have watched faculty that has been there since I started grow more and more stressed with the “behind the scenes” politics that go on inside the school. I have watched instructors walk out the door and not look back. Herzing advertises that they are family oriented and all of that but it’s all a joke. They hired the nursing chair to add “ diversity” among the faculty. They have students file complaints on instructors because some of the instructors and other faculty is the rudest people I have ever met. They claim to be a nonprofit organization but have increased cost of tuition twice in just under two years. Oh and don’t have nothing go wrong in your personal life when you fail a class because they don’t care. You can have plan after plan but it won’t be enough for them to let you finish your program when you only have one semester left. This school has been the biggest waste of money and time of my life. I use to enjoy going to school in the mornings I loved the things that I got to learn on a daily basis.. but as their instructors left so did my pride in the school. They do not follow any of the standards that they hold their students to. They don’t educate you if you make a mistake they reprimand you and fail you. They will show you over and over again that you success means nothing to them.. they just want the paycheck.Misty Romigh

Recommended for real people that have real lives and real responsibilities. I attended the online program for my bachelors and masters degrees in nursing, though there is a stand alone campus here in Akron. I was able to attend both programs full time and I will consider returning when it's time for any post-masters certificates. The admissions department was easy to work with and did not use tactics that made me feel pressured or rushed with deciding to enroll and then re-enroll for my advanced degree. The professors were as helpful as they could be and did everything they could do to prepare me to pass my certification exam (which I did on the first attempt!). The resources that we were provided surprised me because they were so accessible and effective. Lastly, the very important behind the scenes staff-accounts, student services and advisors, library, and tech support were amazing. They always addressed my concerns within a timely fashion and what was not known, they sought out an answer and closed the loop for me. My student services advisor (Meaghan G.) continued to answer questions in this same manner even after I completed the program. Thank you to all of the staff. Save your money and time!!!!! Students don’t mean anything to them besides a hefty paycheck. They will side on the faculties side every time. The nursing chair is the biggest joke of all the faculty and is the most unprofessional person I have encountered at the school. Some professors care and want you to learn the material, while others play favoritism among students. Don’t worry about signing the syllabus, addendum, nursing handbook, or the P.R.I.C.E. to success paper because the school doesn’t support the policies if its against a faculty member. They can’t keep professors and the student turn over rate is beyond high. Finally if you want to take general education in a classroom setting, not going to happen here because they let go of their general education professors and it’s done all online. So be prepared to pay a ton of money to teach yourself.Danielle Crow

Dr Michelle and the staff at Ross Commons are so friendly and helpful! I can tell they truly care about my dental health, which isn’t always the case for dentists. Exams are always very thorough and I leave feeling like I had all my questions answered. Ross Commons is an excellent place to go for teeth cleaning. As a new patient I can tell you they made you feel like you have been coming there for years. I have been very pleased with the care I've received at Ross Commons Dental Arts. The staff are so helpful, friendly, and always professional in their interactions with me. I have never had an issue with scheduling an appointment, and they work at getting me in when I have an emergency situation. Dr. Guan is thorough in her treatment. Craig Lanik and the entire staff are amazing! I've been coming here for many years after a few bad experiences at another dentist in the area. If there is such a thing as a pleasant visit to the dentist office this would be it. Super friendly staff and very reasonable fees. My regular dentist was out of town and she referred me to Peak; they cover for each other. They got me a same day appointment, I filled out a form on line before I got there and I was seen as soon as I arrived. I have had two appointments so far with Arsmiles, and am blown away by the excellent care I have received. Before visiting Arsmiles, I had not been to a dentist for over 8 years, primarily because of my painful past with dentists. Dr. Chegini was so caring during my first appointment that I was cautiously optimistic that everything there would be okay. Today’s visit confirmed for me that I have a new dental home, and that I will be able to proceed without being afraid, no matter what needs to be done. The hygienist treated me like nobody ever has before while cleaning my teeth. She walked me through every single step of her process, and I came away having experienced virtually no pain at all. I am finally excited to say that I will be able to get my restorative work done, and then proceed with normal checkups from here forward. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, respectful, and very helpful. I felt welcome the moment I walked through the door. The office is beautiful. Bright and modern. I had neglected going to the dentist for a long time because I hate needles in my mouth. I still don’t love going to the dentist but the staff are so caring and kind that I felt very comfortable. I need a lot of work done and I think I found a great place with knowledgeable doctors that care about my health. I also had the best cleaning I’ve ever had. Lauren is awesome! I don’t like the dentist and she made me actually enjoy my cleaning appointment. She told me step by step what she was doing and kept checking in on me to make sure I was doing okay. She was very personable and friendly. Lauren used an ultrasonic cleaner as opposed to all of the scrapping and that made me really happy. This office was clean and the rest of the staff seem nice. This was my first time at this office and I do have an appointment scheduled 6 months out. Dr. Chegini is also very knowledgeable and likes to ensures her patients understand the ‘why’ and ‘because’ to everything. Great experience!Ally Gurovich

I came to Dr. Marcius with genuine fear of dentists. No dentist could work on my teeth because of the fear of sound and the noises and smells and the memories from going to the dentist as a child. When I met Dr. Marcius and his team, I was instantly put at ease. Just knowing that his team has been with him for several years put me at ease, but my fears were also concerning to him. He made certain that I was comfortable for all of my procedures. Made sure that I was not in pain at all, he made sure that all of my concerns were met before my procedures and I had no worries. I will never ever go to another dentist. When I come to the office, I'm greeted by staff and the family pets!! To me, there is nothing better!! Dr. Marcius knows my fears and he cares, as does his staff!! Nancy in the office is always willing to handle any issue I throw her way and Crystal is right by Dr. Marcius's side to make sure the patients are comfortable and put at ease. I was a satisfied patient of Dr. Marcius for over a decade. I am not leaving a bad rating because of the treatment I've received, but because of the receptionist Nancy. I received a call in regards to my last appointment which was scheduled the same day. Unfortunately, I forgot and told Nancy that I would not be able to make it. Mind you, the last time that happened was several years prior. I asked why there was no reminder call prior like before. Nancy became extremely irate and told me in a raised voice that "people need to be adult about it!" I told Nancy that after all of the time and money I've spent not to talk to me that way. I did send an email to Dr. Marcius shortly thereafter which was never responded to. It is really sad that you are willing to lose a patient over this. Before you defend Nancy, remember that you do not know everything that goes on while you are working. Remember all of the things you found out about E. spewing their political madness to patients before they left? On a sidenote, I have witnessed Nancy yelling at your sweet pups while you are working.Kyra P

So after years of avoiding the dentist due to extreme anxiety, the day finally came where i could no longer avoid facing the dentist due to a toothache, so I called this office on a Monday, got an appointment later in the day, and was able to have the tooth removed the next day. Although I wouldn't say I enjoyed it necessarily, dr. Joe, Nancy, and Crystal were all so kind, compassionate, and accommodating that I was extraordinarily able to be at ease throughout the process. The nitrous oxide did help with that too as well, im sure. Everything from the comfy chairs in the lobby, to the sweet therapy dog in the reception area, to Dr. Joe's explanations off all the aspects of my procedure helped me through the experience. I’ve had nothing but horrible experiences with Dentists my entire life. Thought the only way to go was sedation dentistry, until I found Dr. Sisko and staff. I’m not usually an anxious person but going to the dentist puts me over the edge. I just need to remark how calming and attentive this whole staff is! We have seen both Dr. Emily and Dr. Katie and both are compassionate and caring. The first visit was an emergency visit when my 3 year old was sledding down a hill and ran into the sled of another walking up the hill. His 3 front teeth were knocked out and hanging by the root. This was traumatic for him but Dr. Emily and the staff were incredibly gentle and calm with him making him feel so comfortable. They had to pull the teeth but for what he went through, they made it the most pleasant visit we could have imagined and my son left saying he would go back and was NOT traumatized! We switched from our previous dentist to Keystone immediately because we were so pleased with the compassionate care. My oldest son just visited for cavities and Dr. Katie was so thorough with explaining the best treatment and giving me options for how he would best handle it.Amy Chaffin

My son & I had our first visit to Keystone today and it was FANTASTIC. Having been to another pediatric dentist, I can say with certainty that Dr Emily & everyone at Keystone was head & shoulders above the other place we had been to in the past, and everything about our appointment (for a tooth extraction) was wonderful from start to finish. My son has pretty moderate dental-anxiety but without being prompted, he even thanked the staff after the extraction and told them "This was the best experience!" while still sitting in the chair. Everyone we talked with was super kind & courteous, and they went above & beyond to make sure my son was comfortable & they made sure I was informed every step of the way. We reached out to this company for temp staffing needs for our office. A phone conference was scheduled with our office to go over our needs. They never called, I had to call them. I was told they would let us know by the end of the week if they could find coverage for our office the following week. Again, no contact. I had to reach out to them, only to find out they didn't not have staff in our area. Highly disappointed by their lack of communication and follow up as needed. We reached out to local staffing agencies and they scrambled to find our office coverage. Would not recommend!Info TSPD

My son just had a lip and tongue tie procedure done here today. His tongue tie was rated as a 8/10 and his lip tie as a 7/10 severity. He is only 8 months old and you worry about your baby having any procedures done. They were knowledgeable, thorough in their explanations, patient with questions and sweet with our son. The office was clean and nice and we had a completely enclosed office/ exam room for our entire stay. An oral topical was swabbed on the two procedure locations. He was taken to another room for the procedure with the laser and he was back in about 4 minutes. Because they use a laser (part of why we chose them) it was a clean cut that cauterized and it will heal faster. Their fees include any follow-ups you might need for the procedure and if he needs further laser cutting. A lactation consultant came in to go through his tongue and lip exercises we need to do for the next 3 plus weeks to help is heal properly and she was very nice. We had Dr. Eilish for the procedure and she was very nice. They were recommended to me by 3 separate friends and I will now recommend them.danielle hill

I'm not sure it's possible to be any more pleased with a dental office – we were thrilled with our first experience at KiDDS Pediatric Dentistry! From the informative first call to our grand welcome & tour, to our very sweet, extremely thorough hygienist and exceptionally kind and gentle dentist, we were 1000% impressed! We live a full half hour away but it's certainly worthwhile for an experience like this one, where it's perfectly clear that customer service and making sure kids are comfortable and parents understand their progress & conditions are paramount. My daughter actually told them she had a great time – she can't wait to come back (it may have had something to do with the yummy watermelon toothpaste & the very fun prizes!)! I'm positive each experience will be as good as the last. We've found our new home for pediatric dentistry right here and will very likely be working with them for future orthodontia. If I could give them 10 stars I would. My son has severe anxiety and nearly passed out twice during his X-rays. His hygienist Kristen not only stayed calm, but she even sat on the floor with him to help relax, offering stickers to distract him. The receptionists even joined in to help bringing him water and a snack. Kristen did a beautiful job on his teeth, talking him through everything she was doing. Dr. Brittany was patient and kind. The office is clean, warm, and welcoming. This was our first time and we even got a tour with by the sweetest greeter! They don’t make you feel like they’re rushing to get to the next patient. From the warm welcome at the reception desk through to the dentist, everyone was simply wonderful. I have finally found a dental office for my son I can rave about!Melissa Becker-Howe
