14 Best Dental Assistant Programs In Seattle, WA (2022 Updated)

Worst college experience. The clinical advisor is incapable of her job and pushed the clinical to a future start even though the CPR card takes one day to get but she decides to push it a whole week when we should have been done the day the quarter finished. The phlebotomy instructor is really rude and disrespectful of students and makes students not feel comfortable to speak up and if to ask a question she acts like your a child completely rude. I don't recommend coming to this college. Also the virtual graduation was upsetting to know I had sent my information and sent a photo and not even be on it. Really makes me unhappy to know I spent money and time to be treated as a student like trash and not get acknowledged for the hard work and time put into trying to succeed. I won't want to come back to this college for the at most disrespectful people.Ryan

This is a terrible college. It’s like pulling teeth to get anyone to email you back about important, time-sensitive information, and you get the runaround when they do. This happened when I was applying for admission, and is currently happening now that they’ve denied me, because they are incompetent, the certificate I worked so hard for. Because they changed the numbers on some math courses, they all of a sudden don’t count towards my certificate, and they lost the official transcript that I sent from my former college, and are denying my transfer credit. Man i had trouble here. Not only did they give me the wrong classes but it turns out i never had FAFSA to cover my classes. And they make me pay for them two years after I left the college. Thank goodness i never continued to study here. I know they have a lot of students to manage but still if you were able to catch that years later then why not then? I knew something was wrong here. I feel like I’m getting scammed. I’m retaking this class first time was because my previous teacher didn’t grade most of my work that I summited direct to her with all paperwork and it was totally mess like nothing’s ever organized and dated correctly and she got fired so other instructors had to take over and still didn’t care about my assignment so i had no choice but failing. And when i retook it for second time with same class due to her personal reason it was mostly online or self taught with ppt she posted on blackboard. I only got to be in classroom 3 times. my new instructor won’t grade my quiz so i had to email her and advisor but non of them gave me any updates nor response so I guess they just want me to retake it over and over again until they can do their job. It’s large amounts of money they required too so I’m wasting my time and money and it just seems like they’re scamming me. Whenever my friends or people around me asking about this school I never recommend. Because no one need to deal with this mess. And they honestly killed my passion to be on veterinary field.Eunsu Choi

We've hosted students from the programs over the years and they come in with little clinical experience. They're not prepared to work with patients out of school at all. Up until recently our team was okay spending hours in training (while the school gets paid the tuition fee, we get nothing) hoping to keep the student on long-term. We got stood up. A promise was made to stay on and then no communication, no reply. The school should teach honesty, integrity and professionalism as part of the curriculum.Ilona F

I graduated from the medical assistant program and the teachers were all amazing and seem to truly care about their student’s success and wellbeing, especially Mojda! My only downside is that I did struggle with some of the administrative staff having poor communication and being disorganized. I definitely had to advocate for myself. This place has been so good to me. The entire team at Seattle Cornerstone Dental is so competent and so incredibly compassionate. I’ve been going through a vulnerable time in my life following a failed spinal surgery. They sent me a gift basket during my difficult recovery, and Dr. An showed me real patience and humanity after I struggled to accept chipping both of my front teeth in the midst of everything else. It’s hard to feel comfortable at the dentist; my previous dentist was a special provider for patients with dental anxiety. I’d had one too many bad pokes and developed an aversion to dental pain. All of the providers at Seattle Cornerstone Dental have been remarkably gentle with me, and I feel comfortable while they work on my teeth. They’ve also gone above and beyond to schedule me quickly when I need to be seen. I’m still in the Invisalign process, but my smile already looks so much better, and I’ve gotten compliments on the alignment of my teeth for the first time in my life. I really enjoyed my visit here. The staff was very nice so was the Dentist. I travel all around the world. I have seen many dentist and this was probably the best experience I have had with a dentist office. I was seen without a appointment just walked in due to my tooth filling coming off. I just had that filling done maybe 1 week ago. The filling done by a dentist in California did not feel right. The filling done at Seattle Cornerstone Dental felt natural like no filling was done. Dr. An was wonderful. She explained everything very thoroughly as she went along with my cleaning and treatment and made meaningful recommendations for future treatments. I had had her husband as the dentist on previous visits and had the same type of treatment from him. Friendly, thorough, very professional. I took this course that began last October and am graduating next week. When I was calling around to different dental assisting programs, Danielle’s was one of the first programs I inquired about. From my very first interaction and conversation I had with her over the phone I knew this dental assisting program was the right choice. Danielle makes you feel so welcomed as a person and not just another student attending class. It truly is such a unique and personalized experience. The classroom numbers are low which means you get more individualized training with Danielle and the other instructors. You get to graduate from this program feeling well prepared to start your new career in the dental field. As I get ready to graduate next week, I can’t help but feel like class was longer, not because I don’t feel prepared, but because I’m truly going to miss coming to class every Friday and training alongside Danielle and the rest of her staff. I recently finished the program at the Dental Assistant Training Center and I must say the experience was worth it. If you’re unsure about your career and might have an interest in the dental field, I would highly recommend applying. The course dedicates the mornings to lectures and in the afternoons to patients. During the quarter the instructors are continuously supporting, helping, and motivating each of us. They offer labs to those who want the extra practice and are willing to work around your schedule. The class size is relatively small, so everyone feels like a team- working together to better each other and our skills. I’m thankful and blessed to have attended this program. The program was everything I’d hoped it would be and much more!! Danielle, Leslie, Jen, and Angela are great instructors, and they really care about you not only as a student in their program but as you as a person. They want you to be successful!! It was the best idea enrolling into this school! Initially, I was hesitant at first because I’m still a high school student and wasn’t sure if it was going to be difficult but I quickly came to realize that everything from the two instructors, Becky and Alexis, to the work load, to the hours are flexible, lenient, and overall easy to work with. I had/have no complaints or problems whatsoever and the best part about it is that I get to learn many useful things as well as receive plenty of opportunities to work full-time or part-time at dental offices as I’m still learning. My decision to complete WCCDA's program was absolutely great. Becky and Alexis are the most caring and supportive instructors who were always willing to answer my many questions. The hands-on learning and practice I received has been so valuable, and I feel very ready to begin working as a dental assistant. The program is thorough and gives you the knowledge to work in a variety of areas within the dental field. You get time nearly every class to go into the back and learn/practice your skills, and can use the demo videos at home to study as well. The best school I have attended! I’ve learned a lot and Mrs. Becky and Alexis are awesome! They explain everything and are always there to help you when you’re stuck. You get taught how to do procedures the newer and improved way and also the old fashioned way just to prepare you and to know what to expect. Where do I even begin…. Had two separate instructors quit our class. One was due to the fact a substitute was talking extremely negatively about our main instructor to us, when we informed her she got ahold of the big bosses and the administrators would not resolve the conflict. Classes were pushed out and started a week later than originally planned, had numerous classes canceled on us, and just generally no consistent teaching methods between instructors. You guys messed up letting Hannah go, she was such an amazing teacher. Very informative and hands on. In hindsight if I knew everything that was going to happen I would not have paid thousands of dollars for this class.Emily Kopta

Showing an abilities and some have regular ability. This school was not just reasonable. It took into consideration a chance I in any case wouldn't have had. I have been going to Kois Dentistry / Kois Centre for the last two+ years since I have been living in Seattle and I absolutely love this office and everyone who works there! I have, and continuously, refer my colleagues, friends, and family to this practice because of their friendly staff, hospitable service and incredible knowledge. Not only are Dr. Dean and Dr. Tara extremely knowledgeable but the rest of their staff at the Centre are just as knowledgeable as them. My favourite hygienist is Dana! Every time I walk in for an appointment, she greets me just like a friend rather than just as another patient. I would absolutely recommend this dentist to anyone in the city of Seattle. I learned everything there was to know about dental assisting in less than 9 weeks (with a really good price) and they aided me in finding a job and I was hired immediately while I was in school! Unfortunately, Pima has a bad rap for some reason I no longer understand after attending Pima for the dental hygiene program for the last 4 out of 6 semesters. The rumors almost drove me away and IM SO THANKFUL THEY DIDNT. I love the teachers, the level of education, how much they care about us as humans, how much they care about drilling the knowledge in your head by use of repetition, how fun they make learning and more. However they are serious (more down to business) when they need to be. My friends went to lake Washington and pierce and other hygiene schools and said they HATED it. I can’t say the same. It is a very difficult program but I know it is so worth it and I do not regret my decision one bit.Brandy Bruzas

Attending the iADA has been a rewarding opportunity. This school is great for those that want a lasting career. iADA really focuses on the clinical aspect as opposed to the classroom setting, allowing you to be more ready for the work field. You will be able to work with the office's patients, receive one on one time, and work with the Doctor himself. Dr. H is a great instructor and will push you to succeed in this profession. The iADA has taught me the skills and knowledge that has given me the confidence and comfort of being a dental assistant. Being a college student, the flexibility of iADA is great. The iADA school is amazing! In 3 months, you are taught through a hands-on and one-on-one experience. Not only do you learn clinically, but you learn from the doctor himself. I did many research on several different dental assistants school before I came to I. A. D. A school and I picked the right school. 3 months Hand-on experience inside the clinic. The instructors and staffs in the clinic are very friendly and there to help you whenever you have questions. Lectures online so that you can study anytime you want. I graduated from I. A. D.
