I am a student in the MOA program and my experience at concorde I would say it has been amazing.The staff are always willing to help the students to help them succeed and answer any questions they have.If anyone ever has a bad day Stacie and Mari are always open to donating some of their time to the students and help them talk about any issues that they need help with in their personal life.The instructors are very aware of their students and make sure that each and everyone is passing their classes.If you need to find a job in order to survive while attending school Ms.Danielle is always open to helping those who need to find one.Since my second MOD I have been a member of the lamplighter program which is a student leadership program where students help one another including their peers in class and help mentor them as well as help them in anything they need.We lamplighters are always at the service of students and staff if there is ever anything they need help with. The dental hygiene program here is absolutely wonderful. Our teachers and program director are amazing. But I am giving two stars because of the issues I’ve had with financial aid. It feels almost impossible to get an appointment with them and everything is so confusing. I understand everyone is short staffed but I have been trying to get ahold of my financial aid person for a month. Not only are they hard to get ahold of but they have said things such as “you need to get a job” if we ask to take a loan out for living expenses. Don’t they think we would get a job if we could? The program is full time there’s absolutely no time to get a job. I’m honestly just hurt that they treat us that way when we spend 73k on this program.Leah Broyles

I took a night class. The instructor always wanted to go home early. so instead of teaching us hands on, he just read over the instructions. When i and several others in my class took the tour, they said we would practice on dummys before we drew blood on each other. They lied. "The equipment doesnt work" is what we were always told. Towards the end of your last mod they crammed both badge tests and extern sites. We weren't notified if we got into our externs until the last day of class. Really nerve recking to the students who had to quit their jobs or try to notify their jobs of the schedule changes. The extern hours change constantly.Heather Gallagher

I’m not one to post reviews, but I felt like I needed too this time. I started working for a pediatric dental office and been there over 3 months now and since then I have been the only DA to do the impressions and pour ups that need to be done. We rarely get patients who need impressions done but still no other DA knew how. Others who attended concord did not even know how, I was surprised about that. But I have to thank the staff here at San Antonio dental assisting school because they really did their best at trying to show their students everything they new.Clara Lopez

To be honest , I didn’t get real training and I feel like it’s setting people up for failure. Dental assistant I thought was a valued Job and it paid really good . But I ended up taking out a loan to pay for this school that basically taught me NOTHING! The online classes did but as far as hands on ? Nope . I didn’t even recieve my certificate in the mail although I’m sure they had my address and I’m very SURE my Mexican classmates received there’s . Best investment I could have made for myself. Best place to fast track into a new career. The instructors were amazing. I felt heard, and I loved the small class size. My concerns were always addressed, and I felt prepared for real life scenarios. You truly can take charge of your learning. The combination of virtual and in class made sense for me, and my learning style. If you are interested you should definitely inquire. Happy to say I’ll be graduating with a job secured!Alina D. Staff is very nice. Unfortunately, I am not confident on their skills/competence. I had fillings replaced which as expected cause some pain afterwards. They assured me pain would go away in couple of weeks or months. After 6 months, I still cannot eat as I used to before. I cannot chew anything harder than bread. I asked dentist if maybe one side was hurting more than the other because the procedure on it was more recent. He agreed that was the reason for the strong pain. I checked the records, and the strong pain was on the least recent (oldest) procedure. Dentist did not even bother checking the information. After going to other dentists, I find out that the procedure from Detailed Dental might have internally fracture my teeth now requiring a more invasive procedure to fix it. 6 months of pain when eating, change in diet, and now I have to pay more to be able to eat normally. Needed a new provider because previous provider sold practice. Picked Detailed Dental because it is close to where I live and heard great things about it. Went by the office first to check them out. Was impressed by the professionalism of staff and inside appearance of the office. Just had first visit and couldn't be more pleased. Had X-ray, evaluation, and cleaning plus visit with Dentist. Very thorough with great treatment. Also answered all my questions and listened thoughtfully to my concerns. Excellent dental office. The staff is very friendly. Corbin, the hygienist, was very informative and discussed all the procedures that would be done. She also talked me through everything she was doing as she was doing it. Dr. Del Rio was kind and gentle when working with me. Dr. Ha was also very kind and walked me through everything he was doing while he was working. Sophia at the front desk went over everything with me about my dental plan and was very thorough when explaining everything. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a place in the Dental field. Brittany takes her time to answer each and every question or concerns to the best of her ability. Going through this program was the best choice I’ve made. The program offers up to date dental knowledge and hands on training to prepare you for working as a Dental Assistant. I signed up for the summer session and I am glad I did! When I arrived to tour the school with Brittney the instructor I was unsure when I walked in what I wanted for a career leaving there I was signed up and ready to start in a couple of weeks. The experience I have been given was nothing less than amazing. Brittney is an amazing instructor and Dr. Miranda is always available when needed! D.A.T.S is AMAZING! I attended Dr. Lunt’s dental school and am so happy I did. Dr. Lunt and his wife Judy are both so kind and helpful throughout the entire process. It was a small class setting so I was able to get all the help I needed. You can tell Dr. Lunt is very passionate about teaching and loves helping us along the way. He makes class fun and explains everything thoroughly making sure we all understood everything. Classes are on Saturday’s so I was able to keep working while going to school. Everything is done in his office and they provide all the materials needed for learning. Even a year later, any time I reach out with they are willing to help and answer all of my questions. Dr. Lunt and his wife Judy provide quality training and experience that is second to none. DATS school and Dr. Lunt's dental practice are located in the same building allowing the seamless integration of classroom lectures into hands on application of information just learned. The classes are held on Saturdays, allowing those with current jobs to still work and continue their education. It is without a doubt the best learning institution I have had the pleasure of attending. A warm and welcoming environment with educators who genuinely care about each student. I attended Dr. Lunt's DATS program in August of 2013, and it completely changed my life. Dr. Lunt and his wife Judy are incredible. The classes take place in his office and provide all of the materials you need, not including your scrubs. If you're looking for a change in careers, I highly recommend DATS. Classes take place on Saturdays only, about 8 hours, and finish in about 8-10 weeks. If it weren't for Dr. Lunt and Judy, I would still be working in day care!Y C
